Nica’s hands are shaking even as Penny works on stitching her back into one piece, closing wounds that should have taken both her hands and feet from her. Instead she will be whole, happy and alive and safe.

Penny had injected her with as much pain management as she dared, needing Nica awake so she could tell if it worked. By the time she’s sealed off all the wounds, Nica is faint from blood loss, her eyes slipping closed even as Penny presses a light kiss to her forehead, finally letting her have some time to rest and recover. She needed Nica to heal, for both their sakes.

THE PURGE Series Adds Fiona Dourif To Cast

Chucky franchise alum Fiona Dourif has officially joined the cast of The Purge television series. Dourif is set to play the recurring role of Good Leader Tavis, a cult leader. Perhaps the cult Tavis is leading is the same one described when Jessica Garza’s casting was announced earlier this year. Garza is set to play Penelope, a member of a purge-worshipping cult, who pledge’s herself as a sacrifice for the cult’s leader. Looks like we now have our leader. Tavis is being described as “cool and offbeat”, but also much admired by her followers.

Fans may know Fiona Dourif for her role of Bart Curlish on the television series Dirk Gentley’s Holisic Detective Agency. Dourif’s chilling portrayal of Curlish garnered much attention on the BBC America series. Horror film fans most likely recognize Dourif as Nica Pierce. Dourif’s Nica Pierce is the main protagonist of 2013’s Curse of Chucky and 2017’s Cult of Chucky. While we all hope to see her return to the Chucky franchise, looks like we will be seeing her in The Purge franchise much sooner.

The Purge television series is set to debut following the next film installment in the series this year. The next film, The First Purge is set for theatrical release on July 4, 2018. The Purge television series will debut sometime after that. The series is to be set primarily on purge night, however it will include a great deal of flashbacks. The show also plans to focus on four separate story lines over the 10 hour series. The Syfy and USA Network’s upcoming series is sure to delve more into the intricacies of purge night. The more drawn-out nature of a television series allows the franchise a better medium to analyze the events of the purge.

With the upcoming film and the television series, fans of The Purge franchise are sure to be satisfied in 2018.
