the best thing about a popular lgbt+ ship showing signs of becoming canon is that, even if you don't personally like it for whatever reason, you can still be happy for the representation and all of the people who will be positively affected by it
#ngl there are some popular gay ships i was never really a fan of#but that's ok since everyone has different tastes#when a healthy lgbt+ relationship is shown in media (especially media directed towards children and teens) i consider that a win#regardless of whether it's my ideal or favorite ship

Question for older Critters: Were people this skeptical of long-game ships in previous campaigns?
I started watching campaign 2 during quarantine and didn’t really join the community till campaign 3 started. While Imodna and Dorym are probably the most popular ships of this campaign, they get backlash too. Mostly from people who think there’s no way that it could happen. Even when cast members allude to it both in and out of the game, people will either put their heads in the sand or say it seems forced.
Were fans like this about Fjord and Jester? Jester flirted with Fjord from the beginning and we didn’t know Fjord’s feelings till the end of the campaign. They talked about it on Talks Machina as well, but did people call it forced then?
Prior to recent events, I saw a lot of people saying they felt Laudna seemed uncomfortable with Imogen’s crush on her (ngl, I think they were projecting their own feelings about the ship on to Laudna). Did people say that about Fjord?
I’m sure all the major ships have their haters, and idk what Imodna haters are saying right now (I am quite literally on cloud nine and cannot hear them), but I can’t help but notice this particular brand of criticism directed at two queer ships.
It reminds me of Korrasami back when season 4 of the Legend of Korra aired. Obviously there was studio pushback to keep that relationship censored, but people still refused to read the subtext that was there. And here, we have bafta award winning actor Laura Bailey making subtle, intentional choices to make it clear she’s playing the long game, looking forlornly in the distance with every gay thought she has, as well as king of angst Liam O’Brien pining into a walkie talkie rock about once a month and people are just like “I love strong, same sex friendships”. I just really think if Imodna was a straight ship, way less people would have been skeptical about it.
And on the meta side of things, do people really not think the players talk about this stuff outside of the game? Like do they really think Marisha hadn’t long since given Laura the go ahead to attempt a romance? These are things that have to be communicated about as both players and actors. Making sure everyone is comfortable first is of the upmost importance, and these people are close friends and long time coworkers. They trust one another and are professionals at their craft. Idk, I just feel like this part never gets taken into account on either side.
Ok, I think I’m done ranting. These were just some thoughts and questions that’ve been brewing well before we had a huge sapphic win, I just needed to purge them from my system. Anyways, I fucking love this show, petty ship squabbles aside. Let me know what you guys think.

Rating Batim Ships (At least the ones I’ve actually seen people shipping)
(Also as a note, I don’t judge anyone based on if they ship any of these and the following are just my opinions so pls don’t get mad at me 😭 it’s all for goofs)
Henry/Joey
4/10
I don’t ship them at all but them being divorcees is funny as hell so they get points for that. This was definitely one-sided on Joey’s end at some point
Also I should mention the Ink Henry x Memory Joey variant of this. While I think it’s interesting and definitely less toxic than the original, I’m still not about it. Tho the score went up a point because of it
Sammy/Joey
3/10
This one also gets points for being funny as hell despite the fact that I don’t ship it at all. Just Joey pathetically pining after Sammy while Sammy does not care at all (and is annoyed by him). Incredible.
Tho I saw someone shipping them fr once and it was just
Sammy/Jack
8/10
While I see them more as being friends I still think this one is pretty cute. I love their duo
Tom/Allison
10/10
These two are really cute, very healthy, A+. I’m glad they at least have each other in ink hell
Susie/Allison
8/10
It’s pretty cute ngl. I think they could really help each other grow and be happy. Quite solid
Henry/Ink Bendy
-100/10
That is a father and his son absolutely not
Buddy/Dot
2/10
They are just friends. That was a whole thing in the book. Don’t like this one at all. Only got points because Buddy and Dot are a top tier duo
(Don’t mind my annotation)
Henry/Sammy
100/10
I really like the idea of them bonding in cyclebreaker jail and helping each other heal post BATDR. Also I’m biased because they make up 2/3 of my favorite batim characters trio
Sammy/Grant
6/10
I think these two would definitely vibe but I don’t know enough about Grant to feel too strongly about this one. Maybe there’s more of him in one of the books I haven’t read yet or I’m just uncultured on Grant idk
Susie/Sammy
4/10
I don’t really care for this one. I can’t really explain why I just don’t like it that much. Something is off but idk what. Maybe it’s because I like to headcanon Sammy as being gay. That’s really it tho
Wally/Sammy
5/10
Kinda confused by this one ngl but I’ve seen a couple people shipping it. It’s definitely not terrible I just don’t understand it. If you ship them pls feel free to explain why so I can better understand
Sammy/Ink Bendy
3/10
Not a fan of the vibes on this one. It does not seem at all healthy or able to grow into something healthy. I gave it some points tho cuz someone I follow on here likes it and I think they’re cool. Also I know this one is pretty popular so I’m sorry ya’ll 😭
Norman/Sammy
7/10
I like the idea of them being weirdos together. It has some interesting implications or possible angst due to the fact that Sammy killed him. Not my fav but still pretty solid
Joey/Bertrum
4/10
I mean sure? Bertrum didn’t really seem to like Joey at all in the games but in DCTL they were acting buddy buddy. Maybe it was the drinks idk. Either way this one kinda just exists to me but I have seen it before so it’s on here
Henry/Linda
8/10
This one’s only marked down a couple points cuz we’ve never met Linda before or know really anything about her, but I bet these two are a cute couple. This ship also has really sad implications for Ink Henry but at least Irl Henry is happy 😭
(I’m also now realizing that there are a lot of Sammy ships geez)
#batim#bendy and the ink machine#henry stein#joey drew#sammy lawrence#jack fain#thomas connor#allison pendle#susie campbell#bendytheinkdemon#buddy lewek#grant cohen#wally franks#norman polk#bertrum piedmont

I found a character poll on twitter few weeks ago and I can't believe so many marauder fans were shocked that Severus is more popular than Barty and Rosier.
this is honestly so depressing, but i know i shouldn't be surprised, the other day i too found a twt poll that put remus/severus and remus/regulus against each other and remus/regulus won by SO MANY votes! i wanted to drink a whole bottle of hemlock. i couldn't believe it. that rich twink doesn't have a fucking personality he will Never be as nuanced as severus as a character, or as impactful!
"Hide Kreacher, I'll do anything" "Kreacher? After all this time?" "Always"
YOU DON'T KNOW HOW MUCH I LAUGHED AT THIS, I CHOKED ON NOTHING 😭😭😭 i'm sure you're aware of people shipping regulus and james? before i stumbled again upon this abomination of a fandom, i was rather open minded to the idea of shipping anything as long as it's age appropriate, but i just don't have the patience for ships involved fabricated personalities where one of the parties involved's ENTIRE personality was snatched from My favorite character.
but its as you depict it! there IS a prejudiced and shallow component in the way people choose their faves, for the lack of personality and depth to not matter when the character is supposed to be "attractive". the whole "making snape to be ugly" always rubbed me the wrong way, for the poor and neglected kid to be bullied and antagonized, and everyone justifying it TO THIS DAY, favoring their rich, "supposedly conventionally attractive" main characters? from r*wling it shouldn't be surprising, but from everyone else to run away with it, justifying every ugly action from james or sirius, even lily? then they act as if they're any better than r*wling herself 🤡
i've been reluctantly into hp again for at least two or three months and every experience outside of the snape fanbase has been so exhausting. loving remus and find content of him that doesn't involve sirius or james or that doesn't misinterpret his character is also hard, i really can only trust snupin stans and absolutely nobody else 😔
I too found a twt poll that put remus/severus remus/regulus against each other and remus/regulus won by SO MANY votes!
Lol Idk if they did this out of spite but I found a huge ship poll with thousands of votes few months ago and remus/regulus was in bottom five. I guess they were upset that Snupin at least managed to be in top 20, while Snily and Snegulus were in top 10 lmao. Here's the link if you wanna check it out.
I'm sure you're aware of people shipping regulus and james
Ngl jegulus is just Wallmart jeverus with Walmart James. Idk how they got so popular in a short period of time. They have no interacting whatsoever in the canon lol.
favoring their rich, "supposedly conventionally attractive" main characters
Because they're shallow-minded and there's just no way to change their opinions. They are too deep in the fanfiction rabid hole they started treating it like canon. According to them, ugly people aren't allowed to make any mistakes. This is the type of discrimination we see in real life as well. I expect them to be better considering how they always turn their favs into gay feminist icons but well... I guess when they mention feminist, they mean ugly people exclusivity radical feminist.
Loving Remus and finding content of him that doesn't involve Sirius or James or that doesn't misinterpret his character is also hard
I barely follow any Remus' blogs/content creator anymore because whenever i search for them, at least 60% of them contain Wolfstar, while the other 40% MIGHT contain Severus' bashing. I'd rather stick and wait for Snupin shippers to drop more Remus Lupin contents. Well.. I guess some Remadora fans are fine but there's just too many Snaters out there. I'd rather take care of my mental health and not get involved with these people.

hater rant
i watched ofmd before it exploded in popular because i am an avid tv enjoyed and found it just ok… it could be because i had just watched severance and became extremely severance pilled because it was one of the best shows i’d seen in recent years. naturally anything i watched immediately afterwards was just bound to be underwhelming. this is also why i’m not too crazy about succession…
when ofmd blew up and the fanbase became unbearable i jumped ship like i already had little plans to continue the series, but the fanbase killed any remaining hope of me watching s2. so seeing the backlash over the finale is so funny to me ngl.
izzy seemed like a stock love rival/villain to me so i don’t get where ppl were pulling all of these complexities out of his character, and u can’t tell me this had to have been from s2 stuff cause ppl were already rabid about him prior to s2. this is also why i never understood how ppl could find izzy fans irredeemable for stanning a villain cause like he’s not even a spicy antagonist. it’d be like calling ppl who love maleficent from disney’s sleeping beauty toxic…
but there are some really annoying izzy fans so like i get the izzy hate. i thank god shows like ofmd are not to my interests because if i had to read how izzy dying is homophobic and the burying your gays trope in a fucking queer series then i would bang my head against a wall.
like god this is why even queer ppl are reluctant to write queer stories because ppl can’t be normal about it. u can just hate things or hate story decisions normally. the hate has to be tied to something much bigger.

Uh...
As a millennial, I do not think 'complex and interesting' in terms for all of these ships: bellamort, remadora, tedromeda, lucissa, romione, blackinnon, jily, hinny.
Bellamort: I am personally not a fan of Bellamort myself, mainly because I've been around for awhile. Yall forget there was a very long time frame in fandom before Cursed Child was inflicted on us. Before it came out, the most common ship in fandom for Voldemort was Bella. NGL, I fucking laughed my ass off in disbelief when I heard that Bellamort was 'canon.' Like, Bella's undying thirst for MoldyVoldie ass was a staple ship trope. For years. Did fanfiction legally get published? Pardon? Cursed Child feels more like crack than canon to me, but I digress.
Remadora: This is a fine, average ship for me. They're canon. They got sweet baby Teddy. I'm still salty they were both killed off. But they're not more than slightly interesting to me. They have potential, but... I like a little more.
Tedromeda: Uh, I mean... how much do we even see them??? In theory, they're a bit more interesting since we have a pureblood marrying a muggleborn and we know she was disowned, but again we don't get enough time with them. There's not a ton to work with here, but definitely one of the ships that make sense.
Lucissa: What?
Romione: Sighs. All right, I do like Ron and Hermione a lot. I don't enjoy bashing fics of them. I never dislike it when they're a couple or when they get together. I just would not call them super interesting, though. They're lovely and fine. But not a lot of seasoning in their relationship outside of squabbles.
Blackinnon: Who???
Jily: This isn't a complex relationship. It's just a nice average one even with years of James not understanding the concept of 'no'. Yes, there's a threat of a Dark Lord in the end. But the actual relationship? Sweet and vanilla to me.
Hinny: They're so bland. I love them and I don't love them. SIGHS, why are they canon? I always felt uncomfortable with their pairing, even in my childhood. They're just not compelling in any shape or form.
All of these pairings... They really just all feel like side pairings to me. Where's the spark? The spice? The drama? I think Remadora has some potential in terms of compelling relationship conflict due to Remus' low self esteem and Dora's age difference. But as for the rest of the pairings? It would be difficult to drawn me into a story with them. It'd take a massively AU idea to get me interested. The problem has nothing to do with their genders. They just are not very interesting.
Also, that's a mighty fine leap made there, suggesting that creating m/m ships is done in the express purpose of erasing women to elevate male relationships. Now that's just not true at all. I'm not in the Marauder niche myself, but I am aware of a few lesbian pairings that are extremely popular. Women only relationships exist in fandom, too.
Also, nothing is OOC for a character if proper take is taken to realistically get them to an end point. If you take your time as a writer, you can get any character from point A to point B and make it feel perfectly believable.
Every single pairing makes too much sense up there. They're too perfect for each other. There's no pairing on completely opposing sides. If there's a complaint about dissing f/m pairings, what about Lucius/Lily as a pairing? What conflicts could arise? Pureblood with family bloodline expectations with a muggleborn? Not only that, a death eater with a mudblood?
Oho, now we have some drama and spice. Now we have real conflict, some outside force that is trying to keep the characters apart. This is what I mean about the above canon pairings. The problem isn't because they're f/m and everyone is trying to erase women in favor of the gay.
They're just very boring.
The concept of Grindeldore is perfection. This is an interesting pairing because of the many complicated layers of conflict that they face that is fighting against their love. I just don't always enjoy Dumbledore as a character overall. But theirs is a perfect tragic love story. Angst for years on this one.
Now I don't know much about Jegulus, so I'll just shrug. From my limited understanding, it's basically sunshine character with quiet or grumpy character? It's fine. Vanilla. Not enough to draw me in, though.
Wolfstar has been a long time ship, far longer before the Gen Z Marauder uprising (and bless them for it, welcome to the fandom, glad to have you). I think Wolfstar has potential, especially after some of the betrayals that occurred early on. Sirius and Remus would have to work through Remus' abandonment and Sirius would have to work on his mental health. But overall, they're just a sweet vanilla pairing to me. I love them when they show up, of course. But not enough conflict for me as a main pairing.
Now if you got me started on Severus/Sirius... this is a far more interesting pairing because of their hatred of each other and the bullying on Sirius' part. James/Severus is another pairing in a similar vein here.
Now I'm a decent fan of Drarry. I'll read it often enough, but I'll never write a Drarry fic. It can be an interesting pairing because of the rivals aspect to it, plus it really depends on when on the timeline the pairing is explored. If they're trying to have a relationship at the height of the war and Draco could be in danger? Chef's kiss.
And, finally, I have left Harrymort and Tomarry for last. This is my OTP, I'll start off with. This pairing is very similar to Grindeldore. However, Harry and Voldemort/Tom is truly the ultimate enemies to lovers pairing, far exceeding the potential of Grindeldore. Think of the pain, angst, self loathing, and questioning of himself when he, Harry, falls in love with Voldemort. How could he do that? People will hate him for this. But you can't prevent love. Now he has to choose a side. Or will he fight Voldemort for change?
Meanwhile, Harry is Voldemort's literal soulmate due to the horcruxes. Voldemort hates Harry, wants him dead, but what if he found out about the horcrux? There are so many ways to explore Voldemort or Tom and how they interact with Harry. Voldemort can either despise that Harry is his horcrux or suddenly covet him like he does with Nagini. Think of the thrill when you watch Voldemort slowly do little things for Harry because he's grown used to him. Oh, when Voldemort finally reaching the emotional depth of being able to admit he wants Harry. When he can finally admit he loves Harry.
Nothing compares with that thrill.
The possibilities for Harrymort are truly endless. I cannot sum up 16,000 fics that have this pairing. It is the ultimate enemies to lovers pairing.
Tomarry is the milder version of Harrymort, but it too has so much potential. Time Travel fics are my favorite trope in this ship niche.
In the end, it's all about a pairings' ability to draw me into their story. I don't ignore Hinny for Harrymort because Ginny is a female character. I ignore Hinny because Ginny never killed Harry's parents and isn't hellbent on killing him, too. Most I've gotten from Hinny is some banter in the books and a few very awkward on screen kisses. Meh.
I'm sorry, have yall seen the deleted scene and that chin grab from Voldemort with Harry? Please.
If you want your f/m ships to be interesting, conflict and drama is essential in their romantic story. Unless it's just a fluff only piece, well written romance stories have a unique kind of conflict that is always trying to keep the couple apart. Romance stories are different than the normal book with a different kind of plot and beat structure. Romance stories have to centralize the conflict around the couple. It can be external conflict or internal conflict.
It just needs to be powerful, visceral, and compelling enough.
Thank you for coming to my 4am Ted Talk on writing fandom pairings.
I will never understand how us millennials had ships like bellamort remadora tedromeda lucissa romione blackinnon jily hinny but the new gen fandoms decided they were boring because they're fxm and completely ignored how complex and interesting those ships were and instead decided to make je/gulus, wo|fstar, harry/mort, dra/rry which are intrinsically ooc ships for those characters and ultimately are just overtly queer but only for the purpose of erasing women to push up the relationships between two men.
#on writing#tomarry#harrymort#pairings#shipping#remember kids#the initial problem with a pairing isn't going to be their gender#it's going to be how interestingly written and compelling conflict that can happen between characters#pairing issues/wars is not a women vs men#pairing issues/wars are truly a problem in the writing and story execution

1: HamilTurn(you can differentiate if needed) or MCU, 2: Washette, 3: Anna Strong
And generally a fandom list would be nice to know what to pick from ;) (Love you♡)
You said HamilTurn or MCU and I say both, I'm going to try my best haha. But anyway, thank you!:) Apologies in advance if this gets rambly, but that's the point of this right? Anyway, for ease of scrolling sake, I'll probably put a cut if this gets long but don't worry, it's just me talking a whole bunch lol. Ok, thank you again!! <3 (love you too!)
1. Hamilton/Turn (fandom)
Favorite character: I have to say Lafayette for both. Oh and Mary
Least favorite character: I have no real reason behind this so sorry but Burr, and Simcoe for many reasons
5 favorite ships: washette, lams, hamliza, benwash, whamilton
Character I find most attractive: ...all. But I have to say overall Brian Wiles as Lafayette. That face just…🥺
Character I would marry: Mary Woodhull or Eliza
Character I would be best friends with: you know I'm not sure, but in an ideal world Lafayette (both versions) or Ben but I feel like we wouldn't be best friends. But also everyone, is that an option? Even some of the "villains" would have good stories to tell
A random thought: I feel like most people in the fandom now are so new (they joined in with the movie release!) and unaware of the uh atrocities of back in the day. And y'all are lucky, but those of us who know. Know. (yes, I was unbearable but that's ok because I was having fun, and despite what I just said: have fun in your fandoms even if you're "unbearable", just keep it welcome to all and enjoy the enthusiasm you have for it:))
An unpopular opinion: Oh boy. Maybe stop making quick judgments about people based on what they write/who they ship? There is a line, but I've genuinely never seen it crossed by anyone at least openly sooo just let people have fun? And don't say anything about something? Unless it's actually harmful but even then, keep it to a dm or something and have an open discussion. Just let people vibe, please? Especially younger fans. Just, I’ve seen a weird amount of negativity towards them. They’re kids having fun, we all used to be like that so please, be kind and patient. They’ll learn if they make a mistake. Ok? Ok cool:) (maybe not unpopular but still I wanted to say it)
My canon OTP: Am I allowed to say lams?
My non-canon OTP: washette, wow, who would've guessed? xD
Most badass character: Mary my beloved
Most epic villain: Robert Rogers hands down
Pairing I am not a fan of: no one murder me, but in general I'm just not a fan of jamilton. also whatever was the deal with Anna and Abe
Characters I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): um. Where to begin? Honestly I think every woman in Turn at one point or another, except perhaps Peggy in my opinion. Oh but especially Anna. Also Simcoe. With Hamilton, probably again everyone at some point, but the way Angelica was written just feels so overwhelmingly fictional it bugs me. (But at least Hamilton had some genuine relationships between women, not great but still)
Favorite friendship(s): Ben and Caleb, Washington and Lafayette (what?? yes, you fools. lol). It may sound a tad ~cringey~ but I generally like Hamilton's vibe with the boys, maybe it's just the gender envy, but it's kinda cute and fun.
Character I most identify with: well jeez, I won't lie but Washington. In both versions, except god knows I could never be that chill. Also a dash of Laurens.
Character I wish I could be: wow what a loaded question ummm. I don't want to be like him, but I want to be like in his position so Hamilton lol. Playing an active role but I know personally I am not cut out for a battlefield, so a desk suits me well.
2. MCU (fandom-that I am so out of date from, please take all of this with a grain of salt)
Favorite character: so when I was younger it was Tony Stark but now it’s definitely Wanda and T’challa
Least favorite character: ummm. I genuinely couldn’t tell you, I’m very out of date
5 favorite ships (canon or non-canon): wandavision, …ngl I can’t think of anymore, I honestly never shipped many and wandavision was like the only couple I remember really liking. Oh, I don’t know them but Loki/Mobius and/or Sylvie
Character I find most attractive: embarrassing confession time, Loki was my first bad celebrity crush. Wanda now and Shuri is cute. Also Sylvie
Character I would marry: if I could, Wanda
Character I would be best friends with: Vision and Peter Parker
A random thought: y’all it’s been so long since I’ve touched MCU I should catch up/refresh shouldn’t I?
An unpopular opinion: I don’t know if this is an unpopular opinion but I’m going to say it anyway. Personally, I really don’t like the movie Civil War, I think it’s what sorta made me disinterested in mcu. It’s been years since I’ve watched it so maybe I would have a completely different opinion if I saw it today, but at the time it just felt so...wrong? And childish? I literally don’t even remember why they were fighting or how that movie even ended (I feel like it just wasn’t satisfying??) but I think also, as a kid or teen watching that, it reminded me sooo much of the dumb drama that, you know, kids get into. I mean, getting your friends on someone’s side like that?? Like, I know they were mad but- but there are other ways of dealing with emotions??? And involving everyone's friends too? So yeah, it just felt off to me at the time, and looking back now, from what I remember, it just frustrated me. Especially as a kid who deals with dumb drama like that all the time, kids would want to see a better example especially from adult superheroes or at least not be reminded of the bs they have to go through sometimes. But, rant over, that’s all just my opinion:)
My canon OTP: wandavision
My non-canon OTP: ummm. I guess just Loki/Mobius and/or Sylvie lol
Most badass character: I have to say Natasha but actually there are many
Most epic villain: when I was younger I liked that Ultron was voiced by Robert California from the Office lol
Pairing I am not a fan of: I don’t know if it’s popular but I never liked Tony and Pepper. What happened with her?
Characters I feel the writers screwed up: I guess I’ll say Thor because I just felt such a weird difference in his personality that did not make sense to me
Favorite friendship: Wanda and Pietro!! Honestly I think a lot, there were a lot of good friendships but I can’t think of which ones are my favorite
Character I most identify with: ummmmmm.
Character I wish I could be: My gut says Thor
3. Washette (ship-bless you<3 get ready for rambles oh no)
When I started shipping them: So I first had the thought in 7th grade while my history teacher was talking about them and my little brain went: haha that’s pretty gay. (teacher keeps talking about them) wait a fucking minute, that is pretty gay! But it wasn’t until I got sucked into Hamilton that I really started actively shipping them by reading fics and what not, but something about them became an instant favorite. And later (little personal story time) I pretty much completely stopped reading fic and being active in fandom for years and actually, when I got my first panic attack that - no joke - lasted for 5 hours, for some reason my brain (as it’s decaying lol) said I want to go and reread all my favorite washette fics and also do what I was I always too scared to do. Write!! So that night I binged the fics and found myself falling in love again, feeling all the old passion I had for them again, and the next night (still very shaken) I wrote an outline of a good ol washette confession + kiss that was extremely thoughtful and good, and honestly, I have not actually used that outline yet! Maybe I’m saving it. But yeah, this is a long answer, but I have a weird amount of attachment to them and this ship, I wish I knew why too. <3
My thoughts: so many. Too many. First of all, I love that I have so many versions of them in my mind, right? When I started writing, I had never watched Turn but then I did and then it was like: hell yeah, another washette set. At this point, my brain has created it’s own unique version of them but it’s like, they’re so versatile! That’s one neat thing about this fandom as a whole, we get more than one character and personality and that’s just fun right?! More specifically on washette I mean, they’re just so sweet. Historically, their relationship is unique and cute, and you’d have to be a fool to think that to Washington Lafayette was just another friend. Even strictly platonically, it was something special and it’s so obvious I just love them. Ok. Enough thoughts for now <3
What makes me happy about them: the loooove, the comfort they found in each other, the fact that like every person at the time documenting them knew and understood they were special to each other like, they were just that in love.
What makes me sad about them: oh so much that I try to ignore lol. There is the one year when Lafayette went to France and all his letters to Wash are like: “I have not received one letter from you, but it’s ok, I love you and I know you love me too :)” WHO WAS NOT DELIVERING THESE LETTERS, I HAVE NAMES, NOW I WANT ANSWERS. Anyway, also just most things that happened when Laf went back to France. And then when he visited America in 1824 and visited Washington’s grave. Yeah. ow. (also, you know what, I have done too much research on this event. lmk if you would like a post)
Things done in fanfic that annoy me: Generally, I’m not annoyed by much in fanfic at least with them and what I’ve seen. I’m still nostalgic for the old school nonbinary Laf fics, so it ain’t those. Literally maybe it’s because I’m starved for content but I can’t really think of anything, I love it all.
Things I look for in fanfic: back to the whole starved for content thing, I am a library of washette fics but I think if I was to pick a certain thing that I would love it’s just um fluff? And honesty, if that makes sense. Love confessions are very good as well. Canon era, please :) pining but not too much that it hurts me lol
My wishlist: literally all my wips. If I could whisk them into existence I could die happy and knowing I have put a variety of washette content in the world. Something else though, more fics :’) I love writing but sometimes I want to curl up with a cozy, new washette fic like a cup of hot chocolate and be surprised and learn something new and just..yeah:)
Who I’d be comfortable them ending up with, if not each other: what. Ok but actually, Martha and Adrienne because they are both honestly perfect for them and I love them too (I’m going to be biased, especially Adrienne)
My happily ever after for them: Can Lafayette just move the family to America? But also, it’s sad, but like I know Laf would be sad in America while France suffers. So...maybe a world where things in France go better and Lafayette gets to visit Washington more often and bring the family!! (Washington visit France too??)
4. Anna Strong (character)
How I feel about this character: I like her! She’s fun and…strong (oops lol) and she’s made some mistakes sure, but I feel like she did her best to learn from them and move on
Any/all the people I ship romantically with this character: Honestly, I know they didn’t have a lot of interaction in the show but Anna/Mary has potential. And Anna/Edmund
My favorite non-romantic relationship for this character: her and Ben and Caleb
My unpopular opinion about this character: I really can’t think of anything unpopular
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon: in general, her having more screen time with less men you know? I mean like one-on-one kind of scenes. Also I would’ve liked to see at least her and Selah talk. Like, really talk. They never really did that, right? I just have so many questions about them
Favorite friendship for this character: Anna and Ben
My crossover ship: I have no idea
And well, I know it’s been a few days but for a fandom list, I’m just a weeb lol but here
Octopath Traveler (my beloved)
Fire Emblem: Three Houses
Star Wars
Natasha, Pierre and the Great Comet of 1812
Persona 4
Zelda (to a point)
Pokémon
What We Do in the Shadows
Sailor Moon
Literally anything historical
Ok!! I tried to add a lot because I’m not sure what you might know or not haha. But thank you again!! I had fun <3

Ngl i feel like so many fans are just DESPERATE to ship Bakugou with a girl character, which really says a lot about just how gay he is in my opinion? Like hes had 2 interactions with girls in this entire series and those are his only popular m|w ships... 🤔🤔🤔
Idk if it says how gay he is but I do think it’s an interesting commentary on how internalized our homophobia/acephobia is
Homophobia/acephobia isn’t always just vicious hatred and dehumanization, sometimes it’s just being subtly uncomfortable with the plausible romantic narratives (or the lack there of) that you’ve been shown and covering it with a desperate AhHa! There see look, not gay and not alone!
I’m not say that’s what everyone who ships those pairings is doing, but it never hurts to check yourself for internal biases, I also caution bkdk shippers to watch themselves for fetishizing gay relationships.
We’re all here to have a good time and shipping isn’t that serious, but it’s a good outlet to do some self explanation in since no real people will be harmed by your thoughts and opinions (unless you’re intentionally careless with what you post, but that’s another issue all together)
#there is a weird layer of desperate vibes coming from them#maybe it’s because they genuinely ship them and there’s just no content or maybe it’s less stellar reasons I can’t be certain#sorry if this was more serious than what you expect annon#I was just perusing a fb fan page before logging on here and after some of the comments I saw I am in a disappointed mood to say the least

About the sending characters ask:
Ferael
Thane
Ferael
Sexuality Headcanon: gay
Gender Headcanon: hmm, although he's most likely a cis guy, he still has very Gender™ vibes. probably at least somewhat gnc
A ship I have with said character: i feel like it's pretty obvious who i ship him with lmao
A BROTP I have with said character: obviously he's close to kelthur, but now that i think abt it i kind of like the idea of him having a friendship with silvina or maybe nara. in my headcanons, silvina has some personality traits in common with him-- they’re both sarcastic and come across as somewhat aloof or apathetic (though they actually care more than they let on)-- and both he and nara are very. morally ambiguous
A NOTP I have with said character: uhh idk of any popular ships with him that i especially don't like. if anything, i'm probably just neutral to most ships with him that i don't personally ship. that being said, i headcanon him to be a young adult (probably about 19), so i probably won't be that big a fan of anything that ships him with any characters that are of a much different age than him. i headcanon him to be a couple years older than kelthur, but only a couple (like. two. maybe three), and anything more than that is... oof.
A random headcanon: he has a deep scar on his neck from when he died, but it's not visible when he's wearing his hood. in that aspect, he kind of 'matches' kelthur-- kelthur has rope burns on his neck from his death that've never managed to heal (what with him being dead and his inflammatory system no longer working properly). however, kelthur can also turns his head in. unusual directions when he wants to (like an owl), though ferael can't do that without risk of damaging his body even further.
General Opinion over said character: i love him so much tbh. he's probably one my fave graveborn (and one of my fave characters in general) after kelthur (though i also really love silas and daimon)
---
Thane
Sexuality Headcanon: gay
Gender Headcanon: male. probably cis
A ship I have with said character: i know this is the obvious answer but: baden. i just think that ship is cute (though also admittedly very angsty)
A BROTP I have with said character: hmm idk. i feel like after baden died thane probably just. shut off anyone he knew before bcs of grief. i don't think he would even talk to that many people, besides estrilda or baden, unless he has to bcs of his duties as the manager of house rayne
A NOTP I have with said character: again, i can't really think of any popular ships with him that i especially don't like. as long as it's not gross or something, then i'm mostly just indifferent to it
A random headcanon: while he's almost always having to get on to estrilda for getting into trouble or doing something stupid/impulsive, he still cares very deeply about her and almost sees her as his own daughter. she kind of reminds him of him and baden when they were young
General Opinion over said character: love this depressed sword dilf so much honestly. also ngl i kinda lowkey simp for him 😔

Fanfiction Questions: 1, 10, 20, 23, and 51! 💖
1. What was the first fandom you got involved in?
I’d been reading fandom for y e a r s, but I didn’t start actually writing fic seriously until the MCU. I feel in to the Darcy Lewis rabbit hole HARD after the first Avengers movie and discovered Darcy’s popularity in fandom.
10. Is there a fandom you read fic from but don’t write in?
Back before The 100 took a giant turd all over its fandom and everything that happened in Season 7, I read a TON of Bellarke fic, but I never actually wrote any. I did get reallllyyyyyy annoyed when Jr*th pulled that Bury Your Gays bullshit with Lexa (which, NGL, I never actually watched any of her episodes and I don’t ship it, but it doesn’t mean that didn’t piss me off) and it inspired me to spite-create my Disaster Bi Superheroes original fiction manuscript.
20. Any ships which you surprised yourself by liking?
Thinking about it, no. No matter which fandom I find myself in, they all kind of fit into the same general mold. Aggressive competence in certain areas of their life, the ability to be an absolute goddamn disaster, and feels for someone that they probably shouldn’t have feels for.
I am unshockingly consistent in what works for me.
23. Name a fic you’ve written that you’re especially fond of & explain why you like it.
I am really, really proud of watching over someone from afar, which I wrote last year for Kastle Christmas. I just really really love a lot of the scenes I wrote between Karen and Frank after Frank came out of the woodwork. All the scenes at the Lieberman’s house were just so much fun to write.
51. Rant or Gush about one thing you love or hate in the world of fanfiction! Go!
Okay, so I am a fan of some smaller ships that may or may not be the most popular in certain fandoms (*cough star wars cough*), and the one thing that absolutely drives me batshit fucking crazy, is when I am looking at fics for my ship, and I find them tagged in a fic that has absolutely nothing to do with said pairing. Maybe they’re together for five minutes, maybe one half of the ship is unnecessarily vilified in favor of the other pairing that is the actual endgame pairing of the story.
Don’t fucking tag it.
