The Sea Dragon Heir by Storm Constantine has incest in the first two parts between the hero and his sister.
Ooh, this isn't one I've heard about before. Very exciting! Thank you!

In a world beyond time, the Palindrake family rules the rocky kingdom of Caradore, their right ordained by their allegiance to the power of the sea. But war came to them, and defeat at the hands of the king of Fire. For generations the Palindrake Lords served the god of Fire. But now, five lifetimes later, the Palindrake heir, Vlraven V, has a twin sister, a woman who embodies their inheritance of power in a way that no wife ever could. The tidal power in their blood draws them to each other, into a forbidden passion that could sweep away the bonds of fire placed upon the oceanic magic of the sea, and free Caradore from its long imprisonment.
Dang.

Literary Witches tarot deck?

Your cards are Elixir and María Sabina.
There is something in you that needs healing. If it’s physical, go to a doctor; if it’s mental, see a therapist; if it’s spiritual, consult a mentor, religious leader, or spiritual practitioner. The medicine you need, you cannot get on your own.

Movie question number 5. What is your favorite genre of film?
I had to think about this one. I asked myself, "What would I be most likely to respond positively to if someone invited me to see a movie telling me nothing but 'It's a _______'?" And I came to the conclusion that the safest bet in that case would be "heist."
If that's too narrow, then I think my first choice from one tier up would be "mystery." Because mysteries are like pizza. Even when they're bad, they're still pretty good.
Thanks for the ask, @nfsacbm!

Heather Dale actually has a song about Morgana and Arthur. It's called Prodigal Son.
Her song Three Queens came up before. I had no idea there was another about Arthur. Thank you!

In the first book of Tanith Lee's vampire trilogy Blood Opera, the heroine ends up having a child with her father.
I knew there was a book by Tanith Lee that had incest in it, but I didn't know much more than that.
Is this father/daughter relationship contained to the first book in the trilogy, does anyone know?
Thanks for the info!

Did you know that at the end of Moon Lovers, that not only is the girl that Baek Ah meets his niece, but in real life, when she was older, they fell in love and got married?
I did not know that! I'm pretty rusty on Moon Lovers. I'm trying to remember Baek Ah and the girl that he was with.

Something to look for when I rewatch!
Delightful news and historical Baek Ah falling in love with his niece and marrying her.
Thanks for the info!

I've been watching the Korean drama Kingdom of the Winds, and there's one scene where the hero's older brother the Crown Prince is speaking to his sister, and he asks her if there's anyone she's interested in romantically, and she says she fancies the fort master - as in the Crown Prince himself, since he's in charge of the fort they're in. They're shown as being quite close.
Let me know when you finish the series if anything else happens with those two!

Per Jolant, the uncle/niece one is a retelling of Phantom of the Opera. Given that incest is such a main component of Gothic fiction, I decided to go all in and make incest legal there. As for the father/daughter one, I came up with that one after reading They Call Her Dana, which has accidental incest subtext at the very end, and I thought what if the heroine had actually married her father and he found out after the marriage? Then I combined that with a retelling of Allerleirauh.

Both those relationships/stories sound so rich and interesting. I am setting creation and energy vibes your way. Keep working on these!

I'm currently creating an original fantasy universe, and I have just realized that half of the main romantic pairings I've come up with are incestuous. Atlantis, which is Greek mythology inspired, has cousins as the main pairing, Kesseti, which is Arabian-inspired, has half-siblings, and Jolant, which is Gothic fantasy, has an uncle/niece pairing, a in-universe historical brother/sister pairing, and a father/daughter pairing. If you have any questions, I'd be happy to answer.
Wow, this sounds so cool! Ambitious and amazing. I really wish you all the best in putting this together because I can't wait to be able to experience the final product.
I would love to hear more about Jolant!!!

There's an episode of Midsommar Murders- I forget the name of it- where the villain attempted to murder his children because they fell in love during the 70's and the daughter got pregnant. The son died, but the daughter managed to survive.
I'm not sure if I ever saw that one. I watched Midsomer Murders for a while but haven't seen episodes from the later seasons. On my bro/sis masterlist I have two episodes listed, but I think those may have been other bro/sis relationships.
Talk about an overreaction!

Have you watched Life and Times of a Sentinel? It's a Chinese show and the whole thing is up on YouTube. The main romantic relationship between the hero and heroine is that they are unknowing half siblings, but unfortunately she dies at the end.
I am not familiar with this show!
So sad about the ending, but still, remarkable.
Thank you for this!

I read your WordPress post on Wuthering Heights, and I'd like to point out that the actors playing Edgar and Isabella Linton in the 1970 version played love interests in the film Witchfinder General, made a few years earlier.
[x]
Ooh, that's a very nice bit of trivia!
If/when I watch that version again, I'll have to watch Witchfinder General too, for kicks.

Have you read Under the Pendulum Sun by Jeanette Ng? It's a Victorian gothic fantasy novel, and the incest is between the two main protagonists, Catherine and Laon, who are brother and sister. They end up together. Also, The Coffin Path by Katherine Clements has incest as well, again between the two main protagonists, only they are half siblings, and the heroine only finds out after they sleep together. Unfortunately, he gets shot at the end and dies.
I'm a bad incest blogger because I haven't read Under the Pendulum Sun yet. I know it will be great, I've heard so many good things. That is one I will definitely read
It's so funny you mentioned that at this time because I was reading this article about AI art generators from Gizmodo. The author of the article mentions that he has just read Under the Pendulum Sun and uses the prompt “A man and woman stand under a pendulum sun in the heart of Arcadia.” to test the generators. So the article is full of incest fanart. Here are some of the best ones (the first of three in each case):

Re: The Coffin Path, this is the first I'm hearing of it so it's very exciting to have some new canon to add to the lists! Thank you!
