Stubborn
Joe Burrow x Reader
You surprise Joe at a game

You’re led through the stadium to the bottom row of empty seats. The stands would soon be filled with rowdy fans and the field lined with players. Right now though, it was quiet, cold, and snowy.
“So, Joe has no clue you’re here?” One of the other girlfriends asked.
“No.” You smiled. “With the weather and winter storm advisory he told me to stay put at home, but too late now!” Laughs erupted from the other girls.
“He’s going to be so shocked to see you.” One of them said, brushing the snow off of her seat.
You did the same, hoping to take a seat and bundle up under the blanket you packed. “Hopefully he’s happy and not mad.” You giggled anxiously. “He was pretty serious about me not leaving the house this weekend. And to be honest, I don’t blame him, even though it’s a short drive from our house to the stadium, the roads were pretty scary.” You thought back to the short but stressful drive over.
“It’s such a big game though! If they win this, they’re AFC champs! He’d be bummed if you weren’t here afterwards.” Your friend reassured you.
“So let’s just hope for a Bengal win then!” Your attention turned to the field as the players came out to warm up.
Typically you all would spend your time watching the game from the box, but with it being such a high stakes game, being closer to the field was so much more fun.
By the end of the fourth quarter, you couldn’t feel your fingers or toes and your throat was sore from cheering. The bengals were up by 2 and there was 47 seconds left, but the Chiefs had the ball, and anyone who is familiar with the NFL knows that Patrick Mahomes and his team can pull it off. The chiefs inched closer and closer to the end zone, time quickly ticking down. You could feel the butterflies in your stomach doing somersaults.
With 6 seconds left, the chiefs kicking unit took the field to kick a field goal for the win. You squeezed your eyes shut and grabbed the hands of the girls around you.
“AAAAANNNDDD THE KICK IS BLOCKED!” The announcer yelled over the stadium. Your eyes flew open as you jumped up and down in the air. The Bengals has won and would be going to the Super Bowl.
You quickly paraded your way down to the snowy field, doing your best to trudge through the blizzard to find Joe.
He caught sight of you veering towards him in the crowd and his gaze warmed you from head to toe. You sped up and soon were running into his open arms, jumping at the last minute to wrap your legs around his waist and tackle him with a hug. This was the only way you could talk face to face without one you straining a neck muscle.
“Congrats, Joey!” You planted kisses all over his face. Photographers gathered around, capturing the moment.
“That’s my fucking girl.” Joe said, so surprised to see you. “What are you doing here?” He asked, a stern expression across his face.
“I couldn’t miss this game.” You laughed, nuzzling your face into the warmth of his neck.
“You what?” He asked over the cheering and chaos around him, his arms wrapping tighter around your waste.
“I had to come see you.”
“I told you to stay safe and stay at home.” He groaned.
“Joey, it’s a 34 mile drive from our house. Besides, I couldn’t miss the chance to tell you how proud I am of you.” You peppered his face with kisses again.
“You’re so stubborn.” He laughed.
“Yeah, but you knew that when you started dating me.”
“True. And I love you for it.”

Sister || Joe Burrow
"You know we could really get caught one day." You said to your boyfriend Joe. You two have been sneaking around for the past year and a half from your older brother Sam.
Yes, Sam, Joe's teammate. The one that your brother told you to explicitly stay away from.
"Yeah, but that's the fun part. This has been the most thrilling year and a half of my life keeping something from one of my best friends on the team."
He looked over at you and leaned down to kiss you. You two were sitting in the middle of Paycor Stadium on a blanket just watching the sun set. Perks of dating the quarterback I guess?
"I know, I just hate hiding things from Sam. I hate having to go to events with him when you're there and hide our relationship. I want to openly hold your hand and kiss you in public and post about you."
"I know baby, one day we will. One day when Sam won't kill me." He said and you rolled your eyes.
Sam really had never been that protective over you, until he met Joe and saw that two of you become friends. He had told you to stay away from Joe because he doesn't want to see your heart broken when he's away and all the rumors that come with being the star quarterback and the talk of the NFL.
You have been so close to telling Sam five other times. He's almost walked in on you and Joe having sex and ruined a couple of late night phone calls while they were on the road.
You hear talking since the stadium was empty and you turn around and see two people in the distance walking out of the tunnel. "Baby, I thought you said we had this whole place to ourselves?" You said to him making him turn around and look at the two people who were walking on the field.
"Jesus fuck." He said. "Who is it?" You asked trying to squint to see if you can see the faces. "Fucking Sam. We're gonna be out now to him." He said and you quickly turned back around and thought of a plan to get out of there without Sam seeing you.
"There's no way out Y/N, it's now or never." Joe said standing up and holding his hand out to you. "Burrow! What the heck are you doing here?" Sam said as he finally could make out who else was on the field.
You sighed and still had your back to Sam. "Just on a date man, what are you doing here?" Joe asked. "Ooooh so this is the mystery girl you've been talki- wait, I know that body, Y/N?"
Sam said and you sighed and turned around to face him. "Hey Sam." You said and he looked like he was ready to pounce on Joe, that's how mad he looked.
"She's the girl you don't shut up about in the locker room? I've been listening to you talk about the both of your sex lives for a YEAR NOW?"
You looked up at Joe and he smirked and shrugged his shoulders like it was no big deal. "We were going to tell you at some point Sam, but I know how you get. You wouldn't have liked it if you found out 6 months ago or in another year." You said and he crossed his arms over his chest.
"How long?" He asked. "A year and a half." Joe said wrapping his arm around your waist. You looked up at him and smiled. "Do you love him?" He asked you.
You smiled, you hadn't said it to Joe yet, he's said it to you plenty of times, but you just couldn't without telling Sam and Joe respected it, that's what you loved about him the most.
"More than you could ever imagine Sam. He's been nothing but gentle and patient with me. He's more than I could have ever wanted in a boyfriend."
Joe squeezed your waist and you looked up at him. He leaned down and gave you a soft peck on the lips. "Alright gross, I don't need to see any PDA with the two of you."
"I am mad at the both of you for hiding this from me for so long, but I see why you did it. Burrow, you may be the best quarterback, but I will not be afraid to kick your ass if you hurt my sister."
"Of course, wouldn't even think about it." Joe said and you looked at Sam. He smiled at you letting you know that he approved of the relationship.
"I will leave you two be, again Burrow, break her hear, I break your legs." He said walking away and Joe turned to you and picked you up. "My girl, I can finally shout it from the rooftops." He said spinning you around.
You laughed and leaned down while he was still holding you and you kissed him. "I love you Joe."
"It feels so good to hear you say that, I love you too Y/N."
My first Joe imagine! Love a cute little fluff about him!

Maxwell Tani at Semafor:
Soon after Vice President Kamala Harris became the Democratic nominee, deputy campaign manager Rob Flaherty turned his attention to sports. The campaign needed to introduce Harris quickly to people who aren’t obsessed with politics. Sports is perhaps America’s last remaining monoculture, and Flaherty and the Harris team decided to book her on sports shows and podcasts. But one by one, the biggest personalities and shows politely turned them down. “Sports and culture have sort of merged together, and as sports and culture became more publicly and sort of natively associated with this Trump-conservative set of values, it got more complicated for athletes to come out in favor of us,” Flaherty, 33, told me in an interview last week. “It got more complicated for sports personalities to take us on their shows because they didn’t want to ‘do politics.’” “That’s not to say Steph Curry and Steve Kerr and LeBron [James] and all them coming out wasn’t impactful or important,” he said. “It was more impactful because it had gotten so much harder. But certainly the culture that has been associated with heavy sports-watching has become associated with right-wing culture in a way that makes it harder for us to reach people.”
Flaherty declined to say who turned Harris down, but she didn’t appear on key shows hosted by sports figures sympathetic to Democrats, like Colin Cowherd, Bill Simmons, or the Kelce brothers. (As Semafor first reported at the time, Harris did appear on All The Smoke, a popular but more niche basketball podcast, and NFL hall-of-famer Shannon Sharpe’s Club Shay Shay podcast.) The campaign’s failure to completely crack the sports sphere was, to Flaherty, ominous, and part of a larger trend in which some influencers who had felt comfortable engaging with the Biden White House, demurred when asked to help Harris make her case to their followers. “When it’s not cool to talk about politics,” he said, “you’re kind of afraid of the audience.” “Campaigns, in many ways, are last-mile marketers that exist on terrain that is set by culture, and the institutions by which Democrats have historically had the ability to influence culture are losing relevance,” he said. “You don’t get a national eight-point shift to the right without losing hold of culture.”
[...] Flaherty was also paying close attention to how the race was being run on the Republican side. Donald Trump was leaning into new podcasts, and his opponents were tapping a large network of right-leaning and conservative personalities to amplify their message.
Then, he acknowledged that the Republican Party had done a better job building up its alternative digital media ecosystem with podcasters, YouTube streamers, and friendly pundits. But he argued that the then-Biden campaign would overcome those obstacles by better navigating the “personalized internet,” by which sophisticated algorithms feed Americans highly specific information tailored to their tastes and online behavior. Speaking with me again last week, Flaherty said that remained their theory of the case the entire time. The campaign knew from the beginning that the race was going to come down to voters who do not pay attention to politics or mainstream news and instead get their information from people on YouTube, their friends’ Instagram stories, or links or memes dropped in a group chat. This firstly meant a shift in paid advertising from previous campaigns. Instead of just blanketing the airwaves in the battleground states, the campaign also invested heavily in ads on YouTube, recognizing the rapid growth in streaming. That’s where, the campaign’s data showed, many of Harris’ key voters were spending their time.
More importantly, this meant building out a strategy focused more on podcast appearances and interviews with influencers than on traditional media. Flaherty said the campaign skipped opportunities to talk to the major legacy news outlets because of Harris’ extremely limited time and its survey data, which showed that their audiences overwhelmingly supported Harris already. “There’s just no value — with respect to my colleagues in the mainstream press — in a general election, to speaking to the New York Times or speaking to the Washington Post, because those [readers] are already with us,” Flaherty said. Flaherty isn’t dismissive of television and other legacy media. “One of the most important moments of the campaign for the vice president was her interview with Bret Baier. That was a huge fundraising moment. It was a huge social moment,” he said.
“When Trump did the McDonald’s thing, it was smart, because it was a thing that obviously drove television coverage, but it also drove social media engagement too,” he said. “And those things often happen in tandem, but they don’t always, and so it was the sweet spot. It drove traditional coverage and nontraditional media. I don’t think TV is dead. It’s still probably the most important thing, but it’s the literal TV and what’s on it that matters.” As the campaign wore on, though, Flaherty said he realized their failure to gain traction in certain corners of media reflected a deeper problem — one that wasn’t solved when Harris replaced Biden on the ticket. The Harris campaign, representing what many voters saw as an embodiment of the status quo, was running contrary not just to ideological distrust of establishment figures but to media trends. The media successes of 2024 were independent, nontraditional online personalities who themselves were avatars of the rewards of going up against the Establishment.
Rob Flaherty, Kamala Harris’s digital campaign chief, told Semafor’s Maxwell Tani that the Democrats’ loss of hold on the culture played a big role into Donald Trump’s win.

1; HOMECOMING 返校
It's homecoming today. One of the most stressful but most exciting days in the entire school year. It serves as a debut of both the cheerleading and dance teams, and of course the football team. In your case, today will be your first homecoming as dance team captain and choreographer.
Your freshman year was grueling, but you dedicated almost all of your time and energy into forming a proper dance team with high respect and credibility with the help of your good friend from senior year in high school, Emma Sano. Now, in your sophomore year, the grind absolutely did not stop. You have a team full of twenty girls (including yourself and Emma) to lead, and today will prove to be the hardest list of tasks you've ever checked through so far in your life.
"Mornin' baby." Your boyfriend Ken murmurs groggily, leaning over you to gently kiss your warm cheek. You're both snuggled up together in his dorm suite bed, as you had stayed the night in his room per his request. You smile tiredly, turning over to face him. "Morning."
The two of you have been together for quite some time now, a good two years and eight months. Though those years may seem significant or like a milestone, the relationship has always been stagnant. A boring, straight line. You're boyfriend is sweet, kind, mostly all of the above, yet he's just...never really been right for you. Why not break up?
Well, your parents are the ones keeping you both from leaving each other. Your mom, a part of the administration of the university, and Ken's father, the football coach, famous for cultivating champion players that later move on to the NFL in the states by senior year came together with the plan for you two to date.
Why not just do your own thing and date who you want? Your mom had made it clear that if you don't keep up the charade of the perfect college girl with great grades and a boyfriend with a great future, you'd be out of the school in a heartbeat, and out of dance for good. She says you need to be perfect in every way in order to gain success, especially as a dancer, and being already in a relationship will keep you from getting distracted by other guys during your four years.
Same goes with Ken and what his dad told him. In their pursuit of star students they went and 'hooked you two up', completely ruining what could have been a good friendship and maybe even relationship had they not rushed it. But honestly, it's not the utter worst being with Ken, though you wish you had a say in the kind of guy you wanted for yourself. It's hard having to force out a genuine sounding 'I love you' every day, and especially, have sex with someone you don't even feel anything for. Nevertheless, the two of you equally sucked it up and learned to 'love' each other.
"Big day today. You ready?" Ken grins, looking down at you with an excited smile.
"Nooooo." You groan, pulling the blankets over your head and snuggling up close to Ken's chest.
"Nah, don't say that! This is our big moment; been workin' hard for this." He shakes his head, tugging the sheets off of your head.
"I'm so nervous, and it's gonna be so hard trynna get the girls focused. You know all people think about is sex and the afterparties on homecoming." You frown.
"You're a leader, babe, they'll listen to you. It's just as important for them as it is for you. They'll tighten up when it's game time." Ken assures, stroking your bare shoulders comfortingly. You sigh, trying to bask in this moment of peace before the chaos inevitably ensues.
"Did you know I was approach by those school newspaper folks you always rant about yesterday? Allegedly, I'll be interviewed today since this is such a 'pivotal moment for the university, as the first ever dance team will be involved in the homecoming night experience'." You chuckle, doing a faux reporter voice.
"Oohh shit, they got you too, huh?" He lets out a breathy chuckle, flipping over onto his back, taking you along with him to rest on his chest.
"They sure did. At least I know what I'm getting into thanks to you, Mr. Quarterback. Maybe I'll see you at the interview room?"
"Maybe, depending on what time they want us there. We got interviews at ten a.m." He shrugs.
You pout with a light huff. "Awww, ours isn't till one."
"We'll see each other tonight, baby. We'll have the whole night actually." He purrs suggestively, sliding both hands down your back and giving your ass a firm squeeze.
"Hey hey hey! None of that till later!" You giggle, pushing away form him to try and get out of his tight grip.
"Can't wait..." He grins.
💎
Interviewer: "Can you discuss your vision for the team's performance at homecoming? What elements or themes do you plan to incorporate?"
"Considering it's the first year, how do you plan to make the performance memorable and reflective of the team's identity?"
"As a new dance team captain, how will you inspire and motivate your teammates, especially considering the excitement and nerves associated with a debut performance?"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"They threw out all kinds of questions I wasn't ready to answer!" You rant into the phone, plopping down onto the chair outside of the interview room.
"I told you. It's intense ain't it?" Ken chuckles on the other side.
"Yeah! I feel like they should've at least done like a pre-interview or a practice run. It was so hard trynna answer those questions right on the spot like that!" You whine, facepalming. You take a deep breath then exhale, calming yourself down so you wouldn't annoy Ken with a bunch of ranting.
"Ugh, sorry, I don't mean to throw you off. I know you're getting ready too. How's everything going?"
"I'm all good, babe. I just wanna get on the field already." He murmurs.
"Facts. That's exactly how I'm feeling. It's gonna feel amazing once it's all over." You nod, fiddling with your top unconsciously. You hear the coach yell out to Ken from in the background, urging him back.
"Hang on, I gotta go. I'll talk to you later, alright? Love you." He says abruptly.
"Oh ok. Love you!" You hang up with a little sigh, getting ready to go over into the next section of the day. Just a few more hours now until the game starts.
4 Hours Later
"GUYS!" One of your freshman girls, Himari hollered, bursting through the doors to the dance team dressing room. You and all the others who heard her paused your conversations, looking at her with the same confused expression.
"What's going on now, Himari?" You huffed with an exasperated sigh. You loved her, you really did, but damn she's always got something going on.
"My body glitter just broke and spilled all over the bathroom floor! I hate my life!" She wailed, slumping against the door behind her, sliding down dramatically.
"Oh shit..." You murmur with a heavy facepalm. The girls all gasp, rambling about how they'd be so pissed if that happened to them. You'd be pissed too not gonna lie, if your expensive ass Fenty Glow broke like that...oof, you'd be seething.
"Just like..lay some paper towels down over it or something until we can find someone to clean it." Emma tells her, putting her focus back on the final touches of her makeup. You didn't have time to solve not another issue, thankfully that was easily solved as one of the girls Reina just let her use some of her body glitter.
You're only half dressed right now and still need to do your makeup and hair with only forty five minutes left. Nude tights with your elastic ankle braces was all you had on, you're not eve sure if that could really count as half dressed. Hurriedly you strip out of your school hoodie, chest completely bare as you grab your costume tagged with your name from the long clothing rack.
The costume this year was ten thousand times better than last years, as this time you were able to utilize design student Takashi Mitsuya from the university across the way from yours. He absolutely slayed the outfits, bringing out exactly what you were imagining. Your school colors are black, white, and silver, so the main color of the costume is a shiny black with accents of silver. It's a bodysuit, long sleeved with the silver as sequins on the cuffs of the arms, neck, and around the legs. A large cut out on the left side of the stomach area is also outlined with the silver sequins. Simple, yet such an effective, sexy design.
When you finished changing you quickly got to work doing your makeup, sprawling your products out on the table next to Emma and plopping down into a seat, whipping out your beauty blender and brushes.
"Easy girl. We still have some time. You know you move fast." She says softly, checking out her makeup in the vanity. "I know, I know. I'll just feel better once I'm ready." You huff, priming your face before pumping some drops of foundation on your beauty blender.
For makeup everyone has a silver lid eyeshadow look with black winged eyeliner and small jewels lined across the liner, topped off with a nude pink lip. Your hair was simple, an afro that you picked out nice and big, your bangs slicked down like a headband so you could see while you dance.
After a bit over half an hour you along with all the girls were finally ready.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Alright y'all, when we get out there, it's complete focus. Lock the fuck in." You warn, tone dead serious. You and your team are huddled in a large circle near the entrance to the wide football field. It was almost time for your performance.
"Freshmen, bring your absolute A-game, y'all hear me?"
"Yes ma'am!" The answer back instantly.
"Now, it's time to stunt on those cheerleaders, okaaaay!" You beam, smiling wide enough to show off your single dimple on your left cheek. The girls cheered, laughing and making their little jokes and jabs at the cheerleaders.
The dance team vs. cheerleader rivalry had been going on ever since you started this program. Of course, the cheerleaders were always the number one attraction during homecoming and all other sports games, but now that you all came along, it's actually some competition for them. It boosts you up every time seeing them get flustered and annoyed when your girls and you steal the show. It's especially bad when the boys get involved.
"Let's line up!" You command, beginning the line while watching all the girls get into position behind you.
The announcer finally acknowledges the dance team, giving the queue for the lights to turn off throughout the stadium. The crowd hoots and hollers as the field goes black, save for the phone lights and moon shining down brightly.
You take a deep breath, steeling yourself and rapid heartbeat, strutting out onto the field already in 'character'. The girls follow behind you, all getting into your practiced formation, waiting for the music and lights to come on.
After the thirty second time frame is up, the music begins, starting with the newest hit by Nicki Minaj: Everybody. Lights come on right when you all strike the first pose, making the crowd go wild.
~Aint' gang if you let shit slide Ain't bad if you gotta dick-ride Big guns and a lotta zip ties Said she look like me, quit lyin'~
You begin dancing, a little solo moment during the intro as the girls hold their pose. When the beat drops the girls join in, all of you going full out. The energy is so high all throughout the stadium, just how you want it. Some folks in the stands along with the football players on your side were dancing along excitedly. So far it's a hit.
3rd Person POV
Shuji's canon camera snapped shot after shot, taking skillful, clear pictures of the dancers in front of him. This was a pretty big opportunity, seeing as only the top students are allowed to photograph for events like homecoming and school newspaper posts, important things like that.
He didn't necessarily consider himself a 'good student', he honestly wasn't, yet the faculty couldn't help but acknowledge his talent as a photographer, so they gave him this chance.
He'd deliver though, and turn up with better pictures than the three other students out here snapping away half-assed, hoping for a couple nice shots out of nearly a hundred. They don't know how to wait, but Shuji does. He has a natural talent for patience when it comes to finding the right moment. It's like he can see it coming, then he freezes time, capturing it in perfect quality and light.
Looking through the viewfinder, he adjusts the lens, preparing for a shot right on the soloist. Waiting a few seconds he watches her dance, capturing the exact moment he was waiting for. She spins then stops in the perfect pose, one hand on her hip while the other arm is extended outward, her hand in an elegant gesture. Her leg is extended a bit with her arm, the ball of her foot on the ground giving her leg a slight bend.
His brows raise slightly as he looks up from the camera.
Her solo continues for just a bit longer before the other girls join, but for some reason, Shuji's eyes are still stuck on that one girl. He takes a moment trying to figure out what exactly about her made him react like that. She's a great dancer for sure, her movements fluid, exact, and graceful; sexy. But that's to be expected of an aspiring professional. Maybe it's her overall look, deep brown skin, big hair, and a gorgeous toned body. She's a sight, something interesting enough to catch his attention.
He goes back and forth, watching then snapping, watching then snapping. Then the girl spins once again, this time bringing her left leg into the air. It felt like slow motion what happened to him. Her anklet, looking as if it practically slid off her small ankle, flies right towards him just a few feet away from her. Instinctively he catches it with one hand, the other steadily holding the camera.
It's a gold anklet, real gold it seems. A chain with little designs carved into it. A light smirk makes it's way onto his lips as he places the piece of jewelry into his pocket.
Reader's POV
The dance routine lasted a grand total of twenty minutes, full halftime, and by the end you all were rushing with adrenaline. There wasn't a single mistake, and the stands were hyped. You couldn't help but smile as you all gracefully walked off the field and onto your designated spot on the bleachers, the section to the left of the cheerleaders.
The main event for the dance team was over, and it felt like a huge weight had come off your shoulders. You inwardly thank God that everything went better than you'd imagined from morning to now. All that's left is your short routines throughout the game, similar to what cheerleaders do, just without all the pep and bows.
Now you could officially pay attention to the game, and your boyfriend as the night went on. Apparently, your school the Jaguars had started out losing to the Kings, at a four point deficit until they started catching up. They'd officially surpassed the Kings just minutes before your performance.
There's a clean cut negativity that wafts over to your side of the bleachers whenever you and the girls do your routine coming right from the cheerleader side.
They have a captain as well, an upperclassman named Cho. She's a junior, and a bitch. You remember spending your first semester trying to become her friend for a while, but for some reason that you no longer care to worry about, she just never liked you. Her attitude whenever you spoke to her was ridiculous, so after a while you just stopped.
It was childish to you, the whole dance team vs. cheerleader rivalry, but it's how it just has to be apparently. There's no option of peace and being friends, so if they want to start shit you and your girls will be the ones to shut it down with poise. You knew why Cho was so mad right now, giving you her best side eye as you danced.
The cheerleaders didn't get as big of a spotlight this year seeing as the halftime show was dedicated to your choreography. Cameras and eyes were all pointed to the dancers, only occasionally turning to snap some pictures of the girls routines.
Did you feel bad? Hell no. You worked way too hard to be pressed about some hatin' ass girls in the back.
The game lasted another hour and about a half until it was finally over, a win for the Jaguars! The crowd was going insane, all the players huddled on top of each other in a pile, smiles everywhere. You felt like you were in a movie. The day was finally over, for both you and Ken. When the huddle broke up you hopped over the bleachers and past folks cheering, Ken unsuspecting as his back was towards you.
"Aaaaahhh!" You squeal excitedly, jumping up and wrapping your arms around him from behind. Ken makes a noise of shock before he realizes it's you, turning around and hoisting you up in his arms. Without a word the two of you kiss, completely blocking out the rest of the world.
Your hands cup his sweaty face as you continue, putting all your energy into it to show how proud you were. It's moments like these where your relationship actually feels real. Sharing a large accomplishment together, kissing publicly as a means of showing each other just how happy you both were.
Ken pulls away, setting you back down on the ground with a wide, beaming smile. "We did it babe!"
One of Kenny's teammates rather obnoxiously breaks your little moment up before you could even speak. "We gotta celebrate, man! Let's get to that party!"
Ohhh yes, the party...
Honestly, you weren't really in the mood for any parties, not after all the work you had to do today. If you could have it your way, you'd be chilling out in either yours or Ken's dorm room, having a special, intimate night with just each other. But he really wasn't that kind of guy. When the people need him, he shows up, and after something a huge as homecoming, he'd for sure be getting wasted tonight.
"Imma go and get changed and stuff now, K? I'll meet you out here unless you're gonna head to the party with the boys?" You tilt your head to the side.
"Nah, I'll wait for you." He shakes his head, giving you a peck on the forehead before you run off into the changing room.
As you make your way down the hall towards the dressing rooms for cheerleaders and dancers, it's nothing but hollering and cheers same as outside. You shake your head with a grin, pushing open the doors to the dressing room.
"WOOOOOOOO!"
A good seven of your girls cheer as you walk inside. You all do a little celebratory dance together, posting on each of your instagram stories as well as the dance teams insta page that you run.
"I just wanted to say on behalf of all of us that we're so proud of you and all the work you've been putting in since last year. We wouldn't have been able to pull off such an amazing performance without you and your creativity." Emma says with a proud smile. Your heartstrings pull and tighten at her sweet, heartfelt words.
"Ugh, stooop!" You whine, pouting your bottom lip out.
"No it's true! We love you so much, and we're so glad to have you as captain. You're so hardworking and always want the best for us; you're the best." Himari chimes in, placing a hand on her chest as she starts to tear up.
"Y'all...I don't even know what to say. That is just so sweet. I love y'all so much. I wouldn't even have my dance team dream come true without y'all joining and supporting me in the first place. So really I should be thankin' y'all." You sniffle, vision blurring from the tears pooling in your eyes.
"Wait! We absolute cannot cry this makeup off!" Emma outbursts, making you all laugh in response. She was right though, not only was our makeup bomb, but it also took forever and a lot of work to do. No crying tonight!
You all break up the sappy moment, going and getting semi changed for the afterparty. It was a frat party, so it was gonna be huge. Not only would the football players be there, but the basketball and soccer boys would pull up too. As you grab your sweatpants, you freeze just before you could step in with your left leg.
Something was wrong, your gold anklet was missing.
You distinctly remember putting it on before the show. This anklet was special to you, it being something that your mom gave you as a fourteenth birthday gift. It's real gold with intricate designs in the chain, simple but elegant, and beautiful. You wear it for every performance, almost like a good luck charm even though jewelry isn't advised.
You gasp, searching all over your little area, the clothing rack, and even Emma's stuff which is sat next to yours.
"Guys!" You call out. Everyone turns to you, confusion on their faces.
"Have you seen a gold anklet around? It's just a simple gold chain." You add, your tone worried as you frantically start searching through everyone's things.
"An anklet? I haven't seen anything." Is all that goes around as the girls help you search in confusion.
"No no no." You repeat to yourself, feeling tears start to prickle in your eyes all over again. It couldn't be gone, it just couldn't.
"Don't worry, just try to backtrack, ok? When did you last see it?" Emma asks, coming over to your side and helping you look.
"I remember puttin' it on before the game. I know for a fact I was wearing it." You shake your head, still rummaging around.
"It might've come off at some point during the game..." She says.
"No, not on that big ass field, it could be anywhere! What if someone stepped on it?!" You ramble, getting all worked up and upset all over again. Emma gives you an apologetic look, unsure herself really of what to say or do to make you feel better about this. You both knew it was highly likely lost in the sauce, trying to find that thing out there is like searching for a needle in a haystack.
"I'm sorry girl." She says softly, placing a hand on your arm comfortingly. You let out a frustrated sigh, going back to putting your sweatpants on. Now you really weren't in the mood for this stupid afterparty.
You finish changing, packing all of your things into your Nike duffel bag lazily. "I'm heading out to the party with Ken, I'll see y'all." You call out to the girls still in the changing room. You all share quick goodbyes as you head out.
Standing in the hallway you take a second, looking out at the opening to the field one more time. You really loved that anklet, and hoped maybe it just came off while you were at the bleachers. If it fell off there, it may be a good chance it's still in the same spot..?
You purse your lips, brows furrowed as you decide to go and search. Deep down you had a feeling it wasn't going to be there, but you were hopeful that maybe that feeling was wrong. You run out passed the people still left chatting on the field and some of the bleachers. It had quieted down faster than you'd thought it would, everyone probably already heading home or to the afterparty. You make it over to the bleachers you'd been sitting at, placing your duffel bag down as you search the entire row along with the ones above and below it.
Nothing. No sign of your anklet at all.
With a defeated sigh you plop down on the bleachers, facepalming as you take in the loss of your special piece of jewelry. Now that you were still, you finally noticed your phone buzzing over and over in your sweatpants pocket.
It was like every app was screaming at you for attention at the same time. Instagram, Imessage, Snapchat, Twitter, the list went on. Opting for Imessage first, you look at all the texts you have.
Best Friend #1👩🏾🤝👨🏻 GET UR AZZ TO THIS PARTY LIL GIRL😤!! I need somebody to get sturdy wit
Y/N💜 I AIN'T NO LIL GIRL LIL BOY😤 Imma be there soon
Best Friend #1👩🏾🤝👨🏻 U trynna pick me up some fireballs👀🫦🙏🏼??
Y/N💜 🙄Bye Kei...
You loved Keisuke, he's like an annoying older brother to you, and always finds a way to make you smile, though you two don't talk too often.
Emmy's🩵 Hey so my brothers are actually taking me out to dinner tonight so I won't be at the party🥺. Have fun with Ryugujiiiiii😈
Aw damn, Emma won't even be at the party?! You frown a bit but understand. Her brothers love her like crazy so it made sense they'd wanna take her out to celebrate. You send a quick "Awww that's so sweet! I'll see you later girl" and exit out of the chat with her, finally looking at everything Ken sent.
Big K💖 Wya? Been waitin for a while
Big K💖 U comin?
Big K💖 The guys are pressing me
Big K💖 We're leavin now
Your jaw drops as you reread the last text. He just left without you?! Is he serious?! He was supposed to be your ride! Emma and the other girls had already left, and Emma's not even going to the party anymore. Immediately you open up your chat with Keisuke again.
Y/N💜 Bro... Why Kenny leave me😐
You didn't expect him to respond since he's at the party but you went and sent the texts anyways. Now you'd have to go and put your duffel bag back in your dorm then Uber all the way to the frat part. Ridiculous...
A/N 🧚🏾♀️: Y'all don't understand how excited I am about this story! Also, having Keisuke Baji as your best friend is just chef's kiss in my opinion, like, I did my big one with that! now that I'm thinking about this, I'm having thoughts:
Cause I think Ted has always cared about winning, but used that line as a safety blanket against feeling like he's failing when his team, with his coaching, were losing
I mean, if all Ted wanted was to help kids become better versions of themselves, he could've become a councilor or peewee coach, but he didn't.
He worked hard to become a college level head football coach who then accepted the job of premier league gaffer in a country where soccer is basically their NFL football. He's never been hired as a coach to not win games, and he's always known that.
But it's easier to take that leap into the unknown (agreeing to coach a soccer team in England; Giving Michelle space to fix his marriage) if he can convince himself that it doesn't matter in the end if he wins or loses, especially if he's just biding time til Michelle asks him to come back
But, THESIS ALERT lol, the team ultimately loses when he just coasts along with whatever strategies and plans others (Beard, Roy, Rebecca) want him to do
Which Beard knows. Ted, as opposed to Beard or Roy or Rebecca, sees the forest for the trees when it comes to understanding what the team needs to succeed
So Beard's there to snap Ted out of that "winning doesn't matter" mentality he'd gotten stuck hiding behind and then later he's there to open up Ted's creativity with the (probably very mild lol) mushroom tea
'Cause when Ted gets out of his own way and he steps up and actually acts as head coach (benches Jamie; asks the team if they want to continue the false 9; shifts them to total football) the team wins.
#conclusion: ted's actually a good coach and isn't only rambling speeches#ted lasso#also isn't Pep a well rounded coach too? and he's been at man city since 2016 so why would ted have to leave cause people have grown?

Richard Kevin Sherman (born March 30, 1988) is a former football cornerback who played 11 seasons in the NFL. He played college football for the Stanford Cardinal, beginning his career as a wide receiver before moving to cornerback as a junior. He was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL draft. He was selected to the Pro Bowl five times and voted All-Pro five times, including three times to the first team, and led the NFL in interceptions in 2013, when he helped the Seahawks win their first Super Bowl. He is regarded as one of the greatest cornerbacks of all time.
During his time as a member of the Seahawks, he was part of the “Legion of Boom”, the Seahawks’ starting secondary which contributed to Seattle having the best pass defense in the NFL in 2013. This unit helped the Seahawks win Super Bowl XLVIII; their 43–8 win over the Denver Broncos matched the third-largest margin of victory in the history of the Super Bowl. The Seahawks made it to Super Bowl XLIX the following season, losing in a close game against the New England Patriots. During his time with the Seahawks, they led the league in scoring defense for four straight years (2012-15) making them the first team to do so since the 1950s Cleveland Browns.
On June 14, 2022, it was announced he would become a pre-game and postgame analyst for Amazon.
He married Ashley Moss (2018) and they have two children.
He was featured on the cover of Madden NFL 15. He writes for The Players’ Tribune. He has his charity called Blanket Coverage – The Richard Sherman Family Foundation. In 2013, he started his charity to help children in low-income communities by providing them with school supplies and clothing. His foundation was formed to help children across the country achieve academic success.
He is interested in cryptocurrency and tech stocks and is an ambassador for the trivia app FleetWit. He is a co-owner of the Glacier Boyz for the Fan Controlled Football League. #africanhistory365 #africanexcellence #phibetasigma

Unveiling the Legacy of the Chicago Bears Logo: A Symbol of Pride and Tradition

The Chicago Bears logo stands as a testament to the team's rich history and enduring legacy in the National Football League (NFL). This emblem, with its distinctive design, has become synonymous with the spirit and pride of Chicago. In this article, we delve into the evolution of the Chicago Bears logo, its cultural significance, and how fans can incorporate this iconic symbol into their creative projects.
A Glimpse into the Chicago Bears' Storied History
Founded in 1920 in Decatur, Illinois, the team originally known as the Decatur Staleys relocated to Chicago in 1921, adopting the Bears moniker in 1922. As one of the NFL's charter franchises, the Chicago Bears have cultivated a storied legacy, with their logo playing a pivotal role in their identity.
Evolution of the Chicago Bears Logo
The Chicago Bears logo has undergone several transformations since its inception, each iteration reflecting the team's evolving identity and the era's design sensibilities.
1920s–1940s: The Early Emblems
In the early years, the Bears' logo featured a black bear standing on all fours, symbolizing the team's rugged and formidable nature. This design set the foundation for the team's visual identity.
1940s: The Aggressive Bear
The 1940s introduced a more dynamic depiction—a black bear running with a football. This logo captured the team's tenacity and competitive spirit on the field.
1962: Introduction of the "C" Logo
A significant shift occurred in 1962 with the introduction of the "wishbone C" logo. Initially white with a black outline, this stylized "C" marked a departure from the bear imagery, offering a sleek and modern representation of the team's brand.
1974: The Iconic Orange "C"
In 1974, the "C" logo underwent a color transformation, adopting the now-familiar orange hue with a white and navy blue trim. This version has endured, becoming one of the most recognizable symbols in professional sports.
2023: The Bear Head Emblem
Embracing their rich history, the Bears introduced an alternate logo in 2023—a fierce orange bear head. This emblem pays homage to the team's roots while providing a contemporary twist, resonating with both longtime fans and new supporters.
The Cultural Significance of the Chicago Bears Logo
Beyond its visual appeal, the Chicago Bears logo embodies the team's legacy and the city's resilience. It serves as a unifying symbol for fans, representing shared pride and unwavering support. The logo's presence extends beyond the field, influencing fashion, art, and various forms of media, solidifying its place in both sports and popular culture.

Joe Burrow x Reader
You celebrate with Joe and your little family after a big win

As you stand in the concourse in the stadium, you can feel the excitement and anticipation in the air. You have Butterflys in your stomach of both nerves and pride, knowing Joe was going to be making his way down this long hall in front of hundreds of friends, family, and fans. You can’t help but feel a sense of overwhelming love for him that almost brings tears to your eyes, he has filled your heart with so much love and your life with so much joy, including the little bundle currently snuggled into your chest.
“There’s the prettiest girl in the world.” You heard a familiar voice beside you and turned to see Joe’s coach Zac Taylor bent down to the same level as your daughter in your arms, grabbing her tiny hand and running his finger across it.
“Hi coach!” You embraced him in a hug as he stood back up. “Congrats on the win!”
“Thank you! Wouldn’t have been possible without Joe.” He laughed. “How were things up there?” He pointed up, referencing to the box you had watched the game from. “Everything ok?”
“Yes, it was perfect! Such a fun game!” You assured him. The team took the best care of you, always making sure that you had everything you needed.
Loud cheers and applause suddenly interrupted your conversation and you turned to see Joe making his way down the hall.
“Hey, number 9!” You kissed him as he made his way to you, wrapping you in a hug. “Congrats!” You smiled.
“Hi baby. Thank you.” He kissed you back and took your daughter from your arms. “Hi baby girl.” He threw her blanket over his shoulder and kissed her on her chubby cheek. “Daddy missed you during his game.” He cooed.
“I was just telling your wife this win wouldn’t have been possible without ya.” Zac patted Joe on the back.
He laughed, “Thanks coach, whole team played great!” He replied.
“There’s my favorite Burrow!” Ja’Marr came up next to Joe and reached for your daughter.
“Go see Uncle Ja’Marr.” Joe said and handed your daughter off.
It was so funny to see all of these big, tough NFL players coo and baby talk to your tiny girl. You and Joe and your little family were really loved by the whole Bengals team.
“Pretty girl.” Ja’Marr admired your daughters full bengal outfit. “We need to get you an Uncle Ja’Marr jersey!” He held her up so they were eye level.
“Coach Taylors gonna get her a Bengal Cheerleader uniform.” Zac had stepped closer to Ja’Marr, smiling at your daughter.
You and Joe laughed. “Shes so spoiled.” Joe rolled his eyes.
“Congrats, Bro!” Sam was making his way down the hallway and just wrapped Joe into a hug. “That was a huge win!”
“You played great, Man!” Joe congratulated his friend.
“I like this.” Sam teased, pointing to your daughters blanket that was still on Joes shoulder.
You and Joe both laughed. “Where is that tiny girl?” Sam looked around before he spotted her. “Hi princess.” He rubbed his thumb across her cheek as he greeted her.
“Well, you wanna start making our way out of here?” You turned your attention back to Joe.
“Sure,” he smiled. “Is it still cool if some of the guys come over?” He asked.
“Of course, Joe! You know you don’t have to ask.” You reassured him.
“Well I just know it’s been a long day, and I haven’t been around to help much. I don’t want to over whelm you.” He kissed the top of your head.
“She was an angel. She’s definitely getting use to the NFL life.” You giggled, pointing over to the crowd of players all playing with her.
Joe laughed. “Hey boys, let’s go celebrate at my house.” Joe walked over to them and took his daughter back from Ja’Marr. “You can get more baby time over there.” He teased.
You said your goodbyes to the team, even though you’d be seeing them again in a few minutes and followed Joe through the stadium. He had wrapped your daughter in her blanket and her head was snuggled into the crook of his neck.
You couldn’t help but stand back and admire them. It was moments like this that you wished you could pause time. He was so sweet and gentle with her, truly the best dad.

Baltimore Ravens visiting the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs, who are favored by a field goal.
With legal sports betting more rampant than ever, the NFL is taking steps to ensure that players, team personnel, officials, and other persons who fall under the scope of the league’s sports gambling policy are aware of what they can and cannot gamble on during the season.
The NFL faced criticism last year after numerous players were found to have participated in legal sports betting in direct violation of the league’s blanket policy on gambling. The pro football league recently clarified its sports betting rules through a document titled, “Summary of NFL Gambling Policy Education & Integrity Monitoring Efforts.”
The summary provides six bullet points that players must abide by. They are:
NEVER bet on the NFL: Includes other NFL events such as Draft, Combine, Pro Bowl, & NFL Honors Don’t have someone bet for you: Do not ask family, friends, or others to place a bet for you Don’t gamble (no bets on sports, casino, or card games) at your team facility/stadium, while traveling for a road game, or staying at a team hotel. Don’t share team ‘inside information’: Don’t share information that hasn’t been announced by the team. Don’t enter a sportsbook during the NFL playing season. Don’t play daily fantasy football. Additionally, team personnel — coaches, trainers, staff, and front office executives — are barred from betting on not only the NFL, but on all sports.
Game Integrity Remains Paramount The NFL’s 2024 Gambling Policy explanation comes after players and coaches expressed frustration about not understanding the sports betting participation rules last year. After the NFL indefinitely suspended Denver Broncos lineman Eyioma Uwazurike for betting on at least 32 NFL games, including one he played in, Broncos coach Sean Payton scolded the league for not better informing players about the gambling policy. Uwazurike was one of nearly two dozen players suspended last year for violating the gambling policy.
That eight-page handout we received was more confusing after I read it than it was before I looked at it,” Payton said. “It’s not the policy, but it’s the implementation, the understanding, and the educating of the policy.”
The NFL has since committed to better educating players and NFL personnel on the betting prohibitions. The ultimate mission is to protect the integrity of the game and keep outside influences from jeopardizing the legitimacy of game outcomes.
Education Programs Along with providing the six-point gambling policy checklist, the NFL this year required all players to undergo educational classes on the sports betting rules. The training seminars were developed in partnership with the NFL Players Association.
Each of the NFL’s 32 teams must display the gambling policy inside team facilities, provide education for players’ agents, and include an “Integrity of the Game” clause in all new player contracts requiring players to comply with the gambling policy.동행복권파워볼
Every team also now has a designated NFL Integrity Representative — typically a retired FBI or executive-level law enforcement official — who monitors the team for suspicious activity, supports investigations into potential violations, and serves as an additional resource to clubs and players for gambling and/or integrity-related questions and issues.

Trojans will fly with top wide receivers

With Caleb Williams off to the NFL, Miller Moss is the next quarterback in line to run Lincoln Riley's high-powered offense. He follows a long list of signal callers, including Williams, Baker Mayfield, Kyler Murray, and Jalen Hurts, who all found great success in Riley's system. Following in the footsteps of this impressive group of quarterbacks can be a daunting task, but Moss will have some help. The list of pass catchers attached to those now NFL starters is equally as star-studded. Marquise Brown, Mark Andrews, CeeDee Lamb, and Jordan Addison, to name a few, are all making a name for themself at the next level, and that is where a new wave of playmakers will step in for USC.

Photo by Dennis J. Freeman/News4usonline The Trojans will roll out four sophomore wide receivers on Sept. 1 against LSU, who will all be looking to take their game up a notch. Although the group is young and unproven, it has its sights on being one of the best units in college football this upcoming season. "This receiver unit and the whole offense is definitely one to look out for. I know we are one of the best (in the nation), and people are going to realize that this year," said Makai Lemon. "We know what we are, and I just can't wait to show it to everybody else." Lemon is just one of Moss's security blankets and will be joined by Duce Robinson, Ja'Kobi Lane, and Zachariah Branch. Robinson and Lane are massive targets that will man the outside, while the speedsters Lemon and Branch dominate in the slot. https://twitter.com/uscfb/status/1824993776756212090 All four made their way onto the field last year as freshmen, but mostly in a limited fashion. Robinson led the group with 351 yards, and none of them scored more than two receiving touchdowns, making the group relatively unknown. "We have a lot of nice tools in this room. You got speed, a combination of a variety of sizes, and some strength," said wide receivers coach Dennis Simmons. "I'm very excited about where we are and the direction we are going." Branch enters the season as the most high-profile player of the bunch. He was the number one wide receiver recruit in his class, earned First Team All-American honors last year as a punt returner, and was named to the preseason Walter Camp Player of the Year watch list. Trojan fans quickly became familiar with his speed when he took a 96-yard kickoff return to the house in USC's 2023 season opener. Branch was electric as a true freshman and has a chance to become one of the most feared playmakers in all of college football in year two. https://twitter.com/uscfb/status/1820597752948252855 "It is the same preparation; just keep my head down. I don't try to change anything I have been doing since I was a kid. I always grew up with the same mindset, same drive, and same work ethic. I feel like I am pretty confident going into year two, the same as year one," said Branch. Robinson (6'6") and Lane (6'4") will create problems based on their size alone. The duo gives Moss two massive targets downfield that he can rely on to pull down 50/50 balls consistently. Robinson is extremely physical and can bully smaller corners, while Lane is a very clean route runner for his size. They have great hands and high-point the ball. When receivers fail to create separation, and the quarterback has nowhere else to go with the ball, it has to be a great feeling knowing one of these guys is down there somewhere. https://twitter.com/uscfb/status/1822059236484071869 Both have already proven to have some chemistry with their new starting quarterback, as they each scored two touchdowns last year with Moss under center. "I think it's just a matter of when we all get our opportunities when we all get to capitalize. That is when we will really show everybody. It is not about how good we think we can be. We are a group that likes to lead by actions rather than trying to talk a whole bunch," said Lane. "It is more about realizing what the intergroup is capable of and trusting your brothers and realizing if I am not running a route or I am on the bench that the next guy is doing what he needs to be doing, and we have built that in this room. I think we excel the most in that," Lane continued. https://twitter.com/uscfb/status/1825260651817890299 Lemon is the wildcard in the room. With only six receptions as a freshman, he enters the year as the biggest question mark but could be the alpha by season's end. He has all the tools to be a phenomenal college player and possibly even at the next level. He was one of the top two-way recruits coming out of high school, thanks to his overall speed, quick twitch ability, and football instincts. The buzz around Lemon is starting to pick up, and people close to the team would not be surprised if he ended up being Moss's favorite target. Expect a breakout year from these sophomore wide receivers. By midway through the season, we could be talking about them as the most dynamic group of playmakers in the country. Read the full article

I’m crocheting a blanket for the 2024 NFL season with a square in the colors of the winner of each game - 272 games in the regular season, my squares are 5.5 inches, 16 x 17 squares
I’ll do something different for the playoffs probably or I might add on to it??

Some of these teams were hard to differentiate because they share colors but I think I did well
Obviously it won’t all be the same kind of red, I’m utilizing the retro uniform colors for Tampa Bay etc
Lfg I’m ready for football
