Hi anon!! Well first of all thanks for reading! It always makes me happy when people enjoy my stuff :)

As for your questions:

Was Remus ever abused?

Physically? Yes. Though I don’t think it was something that happened all the time just because he is very smart and would figure out how to stay out of trouble fast.

Sexually? Nope. If you saw my other reply about this wayyyy back when the fic was posted, you know that Lyall used his influence as a ministry officer to choose who would have his son, and tried to negotiate better conditions with them. Hogwarts was the main thing in my mind at the time, but it goes without saying this kind of thing would be part of that too.

Ultimately, It’s not as if the Lupins could stop him, but to me Howard saw Remus more as an experiment than anything else, so no. None of that as far as my writing goes.

That said, I know fanfiction is a place of healing for many people and if that is the case with you (seeing as your ask was very vague), you can hc it. If you want a lengthy slave!Remus fic that touches on that topic, I recommend marginalia. But PLEASE heed the warnings. That is a beautiful story of healing, but it touches on dark topics very openly in order to do so.

Are you planning to write more?

I am doodling on it. Im planning for the next installment to cover everything in their adult lives up to Remus’ death, but that fic is purposefully lighter and easier to read than a regular story (though not so light that it loses sight of what it is, I hope), so I’m slowly adding bits and pieces to it whenever I get inspired. On top of that, I am working on a more traditional type of fic currently, so that will have to come first. But yes! It is getting written and you will see it eventually.

 You rolled your eyes and leaned back into the common chair. Semi finals were coming up, and quite frankly, you didn’t care. You didn’t want to study. And standardized tests were stupid and they made you anxious and-

 Jeongin had chopped your head with his hand, “Stop it.”

 “Oh boy, thank you, Jeongin! My anxiety is all gone!”

 It was Jeongin’s turn to roll his eyes, “You know what I meant.”

 “Actually, I don’t. Care to explain?”

 “I just want you to be okay, and to try and distract yourself from all this nonsense,” he gestured towards all your open books and notes, “because I know that you’re going to ace it no matter what.”

 Jeongin flopped you onto his bed and you climbed into the covers. Jeongin crawled in soon after, bringing you into his chest. He was warm and felt like home, and he pressed kisses on the crown of your head.

eunji has been taken under her wing

in fact, she actually taught mia how to be a metamorphmagus

eunji managed to turn into a badger

which wasn’t exactly enjoyable at first, since being a badger doesn’t have many benefits other than being able to dig a hole faster than anybody you know

however, eunji used her badger form as a way to relax, because she could escape from all her problems by turning into a woodland animal and going to take a comfy nap in some flowers

her friends were ecstatic when she told them she had become a badger

e:u immediately made her morph into said animal so she could give mia a hug because fluffy

but always takes a trip back to reality during the day, where’s spotted encouraging her friends 24/7

but the badgers followed the two home and now the hufflepuff house has two pet badgers

wonyoung takes great pride in that accomplishment

even more than when she (effortlessly) won the triwizard tournament in her sixth year

Many months had passed since you last spoke to Chenle. Heck, if it hadn’t been for the fact that you were seated next to him in muggle studies (because the seats were fixed and you had decided on the first day of classes that you wanted to sit together), you wouldn’t even have been near him. 

You’re a Gryffindor, Chenle is a Slytherin. Your mother is an auror and your father works for the Minister for Magic, while both Chenle’s parents were known death eaters. Or, well, they weren’t known when you started dating him, and if they had been back then you wouldn’t have gotten yourself involved with him.

Your parents had met Chenle several times, and they were always supportive of your relationship. But you wished you could say that they had been equally as supportive after it was discovered that his parents were death eaters. Your mother had sent you a letter the day they found out, and when you didn’t respond, your father traveled all the way to Hogwarts to talk to you in person and ban you from ever speaking to Chenle again, by threatening to take you out of hogwarts if you didn’t follow his orders. They had even made sure your friends and most of your teachers knew you weren’t supposed to meet him, so they would drag you away from him if you even as much as tried to talk to him.

But that didn’t mean that you weren’t looking at him. Or talking about him. Or thinking about him. That didn’t mean that you didn’t know exactly where he was at 99% of the time or that you didn’t know what was happening in his life. And it most certainly didn’t mean that you didn’t love him. Because you did. You couldn’t just shut off your feelings, no matter what your parents wanted.

Many parents had sent in threatening letters to the headmaster, telling him to expel Chenle because his behavior could inspire other students to learn about dark magic. But the headmaster always responded by saying that there would be no punishment for anyone based on what their parents had done, because children don’t necessarily take after their parents. And you were so thankful for that - because he was completely right. Chenle was not at all like that. He had been distancing himself from his parents as much as he could since the moment he found out about them over seven years ago; he’d even left them to live with his grandmother instead. You just wished your parents understood that. 

You often found yourself looking down the hallway in the dungeon when you had finished potions class, hoping to see Chenle strutting to or from his common room with his friends. Or thinking of him when his favorite dish was sitting right in front of you at dinner, making you throw a glance over at his usual spot by the slytherin table to make sure he was digging into it as usual. 

Except, one day, he wasn’t at dinner. You didn’t stop looking when you couln’t see him in his usual seat; you searched the entire slytherin table from your place across the room with your eyes, in case he’d decided to get a new seat; and then you searched the rest of the great hall in case he was talking to a teacher or someone from another house. But there was no Chenle. You thought it was very strange, as he never missed a meal - so you excused yourself from your seat and instead walked over to the slytherin table. By the end of it sat the people who you recognized as Chenle’s best friends, Renjun and Jisung, two full blood slytherins whose parents were speculated to be working with Chenle’s. They didn’t look too happy to see you.

“What are you doing here?” Jisung sneered at you once you came close enough to hear.

“I’m just wondering if you know where Chenle is,” you said, voice much calmer than the one that spoke before you.

“Why do you care,” Renjun spat right after swallowing down a piece of chicken. “You’ve made it pretty clear you don’t want anything to do with him anymore.”

“Oh, and you are mad about that?” Even though you had tried to remain calm, you could feel the anger boiling inside of you.

“Yes, Chenle is-“

He had barely just started talking when you cut him off. “You think you’re mad? There are people who are suffering way more from this than you, you idiot. Try to get that thought through your small brain. Maybe the person who’s been ignored, or maybe the person who’s going to be kicked out of hogwarts if she is seen speaking to Chenle.” You hadn’t been able to hold back - but it felt good. When you were done with your mini-rant, you straightened your posture again and looked at the boys with calmer eyes. They seemed surprised, and possibly a bit scared, and Jisung had dropped his fork from his mouth to his plate with a loud thud when you started. “So, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me where Chenle is at.”

Even though they were frightened of what Chenle had threatened them with doing if they spoke about his whereabouts, they told you about how Chenle had said that he wasn’t feeling like having lunch and was probably sitting in the library to study for his exam the next day. Forgetting all about your friends back at your table (and the risk of them seeing you by the slytherin table and connecting the dots), you hurried out of the great hall and made your way down the hallway towards the library.

Your mind was blank, you didn’t know at all what to say to Chenle if you even found him. Yet there was something telling you to go; something inside of you forcing you find him. He had his favorite spot in the library, by one of the windows deep inside, so when you finally made it into the library, you knew exactly where to look. And sure enough, staring into his history of magic book, he sat by the same table as he always did. He hadn’t heard you as your last few steps had been soft, so you faked a quiet cough to get his attention. 

“What are you doing here?”

You sighed at the tone in his voice - you had been a bit surprised before you reminded yourself that you shouldn’t have expected anything. Instead of answering his question, you asked him one. “Why weren’t you at dinner?”

He put his book down and stood up, frowning at you. “Did you seriously come here just to ask me why I didn’t have dinner?”

You shrugged and looked down at your feet, suddenly feeling shy. “Yeah,” you mumbled.

“Okay, so,” he started, pacing slowly towards you. “you don’t speak to me for weeks, maybe even months, and then you come all the way to the library to ask why I didn’t have dinner?” You looked up from the ground to see him staring right into your eyes. “Not really that believeable.”

You didn’t know what to say. The day you had been banned from speaking to him, you had walked straight up to him to tell him that you wanted to break up with him. That’s it. No explanation, not giving him any chance to talk to you. And you hated it, but you weren’t sure how to make it better.

“Shit, Chenle, I’m sorry. I really am,” you sighed, holding back the tears that were threatening to fall from your eyes at any moment now from seeing how angry he was. He had never before looked at you with such flames in his eyes as he was right now. “I... I don’t know what to do to make you understand-“

He cut you off, his tone piercingly sharp. “Just tell me. Tell me the truth.” You blinked a couple of times, hoping that it would help push the water in your eyes back. “Is it because of my parents that you act like I suddenly don’t exist?”

“Yes but-“

And again, he didn’t let you speak. “I though you knew me. I thought you saw me for who I am, not for who my parents are.”

You couldn’t hold back. You stepped towards him, cupping his face in your hands and scanned his eyes for any sign of doubt (except for his continuedly frowned eyebrows). It was like a magnetic force pulled you to him, that pulled your mouth to his. You could instantly feel how much you’d missed this feeling, even though it was barely just a brush. 

Chenle pulled away almost the exact moment you’d launched forward, and though his expression was hard to read, it told you that he wasn’t angry at you. He let out a shaky breath, as he dropped his head to let his forehead rest on your shoulder. “We can’t do this...” he mumbled, his arms snaking around your lower back to hold you close. 

You held him around his shoulders, leaning your head on top of yours. “I’m so sorry, Chenle. I’m going to find a way to fix this,” you mumbled. “My parents... they made sure I didn’t talk to you. I’ll do something to make this right.” 

“But before that, can you just hold me?” 

You might have ignored him for such a long time, but that didn’t mean that you had stopped loving him. Nor that you weren’t ready to fight for your relationship.

Hi, here are my recs! They’re mostly Erin’s but I do have a few that I’m kinda proud of.

Tell Me (Seungcheol): I love anything that involves a character not telling their friends, family, s/o or really anyone about the struggles they go through and Erin really hits the nail on the head here.

Take This to Heart (Seungcheol): This song is really special to me and Cheol is  really special to me. What better way to combine the two than this?

Call Call Call (Jeonghan): I don’t know why I love this one, but it’s really sweet and dorky and telemarketer part just gets me every time.

Everything You Are (Jeonghan): Originally I hated this one when I wrote it just bc I was angry and I didn’t wanna post it just bc it’s not a happy one. It’s on my list now bc you can grow from something that feels like the end of the world and you can come out on top, and sometimes we have to remember that our idols are human.

Three’s a Crowd (Jeonghan): I love how Erin managed to keep the core friendship platonic while adding the third person...who also happens to be the other best friend. 

Kiss Me Slowly: (Jeonghan): At the end of the day, I love the thin line of friends to more and when to cross it.

I can’t believe Erin’s really gonna make me say this and I can’t believe I am too. The deception. All the Joshua fics have been my favorite bc they’re either so sweet and fluffy and domestic and leave you happy for the rest of the day or they just kinda shatter your heart. It’s fine though.

Hold This (Junhui): It’s super lame and it’s so dorky and it’s the sweetest thing ever. I can never stop smiling like an idiot whenever I reread it.

Kissing in Cars (Junhui): I can’t really explain this one, but I hold it dearly in my heart. This song from Pierce the Veil just makes me feel everything and this boy makes me feel everything. If there’s any fic I’d want y’all to read, it’s this one.

My Fairy Tale (Junhui): The friends to lovers; the bittersweet feelings; the last sentence that ties it together; I just love everything.

Carnival (Junhui): The secretly dating thing gets me every time, especially when they get caught and it’s just very fall-y.

Midnight (Junhui): The whole pining thing in a fic is very underrated, especially when everyone knows someone has to confess but they don’y. I love the realism and how you just wanna yell at the screen and writer to make them come together. 

Come Back (Junhui): ANGST my dudes!!!! I live for things like this!!!! I love that sometimes not everything we write has to be sickly sweet and happy. I WANT TO FEEL THINGS. I WANNA CRY UGLY TEARS and then cheer at the happy ending. 

7 Things (Soonyoung): I think that as a writer, one of my favorite things that I’ve done was give readers hope, only to just take it away it and this one did it justice. Erin and Haley haven’t forgiven me for this one but I did warn everyone. 

Make You Smile (Soonyoung): I’m a nerd at heart and if anything has pens, paper, a notebook, books as the key thing in a fic (along with coffee shops), I’m a goner. And it’s so sappy!!!! You can hear my heart crying!!!!

Firsts (Soonyoung): I’m very bad with feelings and this just made me happy for some reason.

Can I have This Dance? (Soonyoung): I loved this a lot more than I thought I would to be honest. Erin just has a simplistic happy way of writing and I know that everything will be alright.  

Movies (Wonwoo): A Halloween-ish type special from Erin that is hysterical to me for some reason. (Bonus points for the gif she uses!)

Favorite (Wonwoo): Small moments leading up to the big finale? My heart does a thing still!

My Life Would Suck Without You (Jihoon): I always pictured Jihoon falling in love with someone he’s known for years and the outcome for this made me happy?

Home (Jihoon): This one I wrote in a couple of days after hearing Home and it wasn’t too shabby, I guess.

First Night (Jihoon): The ending made my heart go whoosh honestly.

Cafe Crush (Seokmin): The way to my heart is giving me a coffee shop setting and this just made me uwu

Fake Date (Seokmin): I don’t know why I adore this one, but I do! It’s so cute and funny and I meant this to happen irl

First Sight (Seokmin): The angst! The hope! The little thing you’re relying on to make it end on good terms only to just...fall apart at the seams.

When I Grow Up/ 1.5 (Seokmin): Truthfully, I don’t know why I wrote this one, but it made me really happy and I’m just a hopeless romantic at the end of the day and apparently everyone loved it so everybody wins. Plus I know it made Erin really happy and that made me even happier. (And it’s one of my favorite seventeen songs which shocks people for some reason?)

Night and Rain (Minghao): I was inspired to start writing for these boys when I heard this song and this was the outcome. This is my firstborn, and I still listen to this song a lot.

EVENT 13 - AU WEEK!

23 December 2017 - 03 January 2018

Beginning on 12:00am CST on Saturday, our roleplay will be taking a pause moving forward. This is both so that the roleplay as a whole can enjoy an alternative universe and so pressure is off during the holidays and we can all have a bunch of fun into the new year! 

For those of you new to this idea, an alternative universe week is when you are able to break away from what your character might normally do and assume a different story for your character. Read below for more information! At the end of reading all of this, if there are any questions, please ask! What I think makes sense might not be what actually makes sense.

There will be a post at midnight on Saturday letting you know starters are free to be posted!

Also, to give everyone the same information, I’d love for people to write in and give a brief 1-2 sentence explanation of where their character is in the two open AUs. For example, “Tilden Toots has survived the war as a neutral observer, but his marriage to Daisy Hookum did not last the stress of the war and he now is a Radio Talk Show host living alone in the outskirts of London.”

OOC INFORMATION!

There are three different ways to be involved in this AU week and a half. As a whole roleplay, there will be two scenarios you can post open starters to (this is your time for Happy Everyone Survives Time!) Then, you have the choice to post closed starters that you have planned with someone else. You can be involved in all three, two, or just one! The choice is yours. Read more below!

1. One group AU is starting in September of 1991. Harry Potter and the gang will be starting their first year of Hogwarts. Voldemort has been defeated as far as anyone knows. The night he went to murder the Potters, Lily and James’s intent to sacrifice themselves for Harry backfired on Voldemort same as it did in canon. After that moment, many of his followers were captured and sentenced to Azkaban. Where has your character been since that night? Was your character found at fault for following the Dark Lord? Did they manage to claim Imperius curse? Have they been living it up in some swanky job at the Ministry, or did the war ruin them? Is Hogwarts their new place of employment or do they have children attending? Endless possibilities! Come actually have happy future for once! (TL;DR: Everything is the same except Lily and James didn’t die, and yes, characters who may have died may still live, of course!) Please tag all starters with Thorns91. 

2. The second group AU is starting in September 1980, only a month after the downfall of Voldemort. In this AU, a large fight broke out between the Death Eaters and the Order. Heavy losses were taken on both sides. The group sacrifice had a chain reaction and as Voldemort attacked, a bright light appeared and he was no longer there. The suddenness of it all meant the Oder was able to defeat the Death Eaters swiftly, shocking everyone. The world, both magical and muggle, is still rebuilding. Names of Voldemort’s followers are still coming to lights. Those who fought in the Order and on the Order’s side have received Order of Merlin awards, but not everyone feels like they deserved it. Heavy losses were taken on both sides and everyone still needs to heal. Both in the fright of the height of the war as well as the joy of Voldemort’s downfall, engagements and weddings have been popping up left and right as well as news of pregnancies and other exciting events. How will you celebrate the downfall of the Dark Lord? (Once again, characters who died may live, etc) Please tag all starters with Thorns80.

3. This is not a group AU. This is your opportunity to do whatever AU you want. The main rule is that all of these starters have to be closed. So, anything you do here needs to be discussed with another player and just between you and that player (or you and a couple of players if you want a three/four/five way thread.) In other words, should you want to play out Antonin Dolohov and Dolores Umbridge as leaders of the free world, the Antonin and Dolores players would have to decide this on their own and make a closed starter for it that only the two of them can write. With these, there are no limits to what you can make the AU. Mermaids, werewolves, high school, childhood, New York City, Broadway, drug lords, military, and anything else you can think of. All I ask is that starters are pre-planned and closed since you can post open starters for the two group AUs that still stick to the main verse. Feel free to do this plotting via IM, OOC, inbox, whatever you find easiest. I don’t mind the OOC flooding with “Does anyone want to do a Star Wars AU?” post and letting multiple people reply! 

WHERE ARE THEY NOW - 1991:

Alice Longbottom -  After the war, Alice went to St. Mungo’s to train as a healer, which had always been her personal goal. She and Frank welcomed two more children to the family and spend their free time together at their family home.

Augustus Rookwood -  He’s finally settled down, and Mr Skeeter-Rookwood couldn’t be any happier. After spending years watching from afar as Rita took the backseat in her own life, he was more than willing to let her chase her dreams (and her scoops) when she made her way back to him. Now, Rita works, and Augustus stays home with Astor while Gabriel is off at school after having retired young from his post in the Dept. of Ministries.

Andromeda Tonks -  Now that Nymphadora is older, Andromeda has gone back to St Mungo’s and resumed her career as a healer.  The years have been rough at times, but nothing has ever been more important to Andromeda than family, and family dinners have never been dull- not with the Blackinnon, Jily, and sometimes Skeetwood, families around.

Caradoc Dearborn -  Caradoc found happiness. He works as a muggle vet and also lives in the forest in a cabin he built himself. He lives off the land and still protests for world peace. He’s also running a successful home company of brewing Rum. Gladys is back to be his long-term room mate now she has returned from her travels, as opposed to going back and forth as she had for the last several years.

Charity Burbage -  After spending the past few years avoiding her parents and living a quiet life in a small muggle town, Charity seems to have finally found her place in the world. She is back at Hogwarts, the one place she truly felt at home, and is the brand new Professor of Muggle Studies. She couldn’t imagine anything better than getting to ramble on and on about her favorite topic: muggles. She seems to think that she brings a fresh take on them, especially after living among them for so long. Although, Charity does have issues with some of the children.

Gladys Gudgeon - Barely a year after the war was over, Gladys returned to Egypt. While there, she lived out her dream of being a curse breaker. She had her flings and fun, but nothing ever stuck. After a while, she began to feel unfulfilled. When her team returned from Egypt, she came back with them. She’s hoping to potentially apply as a teachers assistant at Hogwarts, but is currently back to being Caradoc’s full time roommate (whereas she was going back and forth between his place and Egypt) while she figures out her next step.

Glenda Chittock - Glenda is currently in a relationship with another woman and she is now a broadcast producer, still working for the WWN and hosts her own 1 hour programme every evening called The Witching Hour. Her siblings are now older, grown up, her younger sister Stella still lives with her- although now they live in a nicer area and larger house. She has also adopted two children from the magical orphanage as she discovered that she couldn’t have children after a curse in 1979.

Gwenog Jones -  Although she remains unmarried, Gwen has two children by different fathers and the eldest is going off to Hogwarts. She is a renowned Quidditch star and is the front-runner to become the Harpies’ new Captain.

James Potter -  It simply did not seem possible that Harry was old enough to go to Hogwarts this year, but James couldn’t be more excited.  He’s been instilling the idea in all four of his children that they’re going to be Gryffindors when they go away to school, and he has dreams of them all playing quidditch someday, just like him.  It’s gotten harder, being on the road and playing quidditch professionally with his children growing up, and Lily and James have begun to discuss his retirement from the sport within the next year.

Lily Potter -  Still happily married to James, and the mother of four, Lily is still a whiz at Potions and keeping her skills from growing rusty, as she plans to take over for Slughorn in the next year or so. Life is never boring at the Potters’, though, and as she chases her children (aged 11, 9, 6, and 4) and Sirius, Ruby, and Scarlett around the house, there’s always joy and laughter. With Harry going off to Hogwarts this year to join Gabriel and Nymphadora, Lily is ready to tackle new adventures with James (as soon as he’s done being the Quidditch god she’s so proud of) and their ever growing brood.

Lucius Malfoy -  The Malfoys got busy and now have five children. Lucius spends his time raising them with Narcissa but still makes sure he is caught up on politics with visits to the Ministry every other week.

Lucy Karoonda -  Lucy and Benjy managed to get along well enough to a point where the two were able to give living under one roof a chance for the sake of their son. With Quidditch no longer in the picture, she has taken a position as editor of the Sports section of the Daily Prophet.

Marlene McKinnon - In a place where she never thought she’d be, Marlene is amazingly married to Sirius with their daughters, Scarlett and Ruby. While she never fulfilled her original dream of running the auror department, she works part time as an assistant to the Minister for Magic. Her knowledge of the muggle and magical world as well as the pureblooded world served the minister well. Once Ruby is in school, Marlene intends to take on the position full time and keep rising.

Narcissa Malfoy -  After they managed to make it through the fall of the Dark Lord in one piece, Narcissa focused on rearing her children and supporting her husband. She enjoys a place in the upper echelons of pureblood society and frequently hosts balls and parties at Malfoy Manor.

Remus Lupin  -  Regardless of how hard he tries, Remus has been unable to get a job at the Ministry. Countless failures have left him feeling as though he is wasting his potential, sticking to the occasional odd job instead of fully applying himself to anything in the magical community.

Rita Skeeter -  Rita is happily married to Augustus. She now runs The Daily Prophet and writes for a few muggle tabloids. She’s a working mum, leaving the now two boys at home. She’s also about to see her son off for his 3rd year.

Severus Snape -  Ironically, Severus does end up at Hogwarts again. Now the Healer in charge of the Hospital wing channeling his own personal "saving people thing" into something much less stressful than war. With a long white apron and hair kept neatly back in a braid, he is a happier and more mellowed out version of his former self. Still, the children are all doxy egg-eating dunderheads and he is quick to tell them so.

Sirius Black -  Marlene and Sirius are now married and living together with their daughters Scarlett and Ruby. She’s about to head off to Hogwarts. Sirius now works for the Auror office but also fixes motorcycles and cars in his spare time for his neighbours and town. He lives next door to Jily and their kids, he and James never being able to separate.

Ted Tonks -  Ted landed a position on the Muggle-Worthy Excuse Committee and is quite proud of it. He hopes to save up enough for him and Andie to take a brief vacation while Nymphadora is at school.

WHERE ARE THEY NOW - 1980:

Alice Longbottom -  Alice and Frank somehow escaped the war - not completely unscathed or unharmed, but together and alive. Now that the Dark Lord is gone, they’re focusing on rebuilding their lives and pouring all their love into little Neville.

Andromeda Tonks -  She’s a Healer at St Mungo’s, but lately, she’s been considering that it might be time to take a sabbatical and focus on raising her daughter, Nymphadora. Andromeda never wanted her child to feel unloved, and with everything that’s happened to their family, Andromeda wants Dora to know how cared for she is. 

Augustus Rookwood -  He’s been hard at work in the Dept of Mysteries practically since the moment he graduated, though he did take a little time out of his busy schedule to father a secret lovechild with Rita. She’s married, though, and he knows the story, so this is a fact that he’s kept to himself. Still, knowing that Rita, and his son Gabriel, are out there on the otherside of the world, the guilt of what he had done ate at him until he came clean. About 6 months earlier, Augustus went to Dumbledore to trade amnesty for information; he cleared his conscience, and along the way, gave the Order plenty of information on the Death Eaters. SInce he never took the mark, it was easier for Dumbledore to vouch for him, and now he’s in the clear.

Caradoc Dearborn -  Caradoc was affected by the war. He found himself drawn in, fighting for his loved ones. Now, he’s lost and troubled, unsure on just what he was supposed to do. He currently has no job. His plans being put on hold since the war. He currently has no partner.

Charity Burbage -  Charity had been working in the Misuse of Muggle Artefacts Office for the past 6 months, which is a job she hoped she would have loved. As it turns out, she dislikes it more and more each day and has seriously been contemplating quitting. This would most likely mean moving back in with her parents, which is something she would like to avoid at all costs.

Gladys Gudgeon - During the war, Gladys was in Egypt working as a cursebreaker. Although she knew someone was taking the information she learned back to the height of the war and using it against Voldemort, she was not in the loop and was not an integral part of the war. With the war over, she has returned home for a little while to check on her family.

Glenda Chittock -  With the war freshly over, Glenda is working for the WWN. She had been a news correspondent, reporting from the front line, keeping the wizarding world informed on what was happening- especially with The Prophet being afraid to speak up. She also helped the Order, despite her siblings protests. With her gained independence, she won the rights of custody for her two younger siblings Stella and Matthew. She now lives with them in Battersea in a small flat.

Gwenog Jones -  Gwen avoided getting embroiled in the war effort and instead joined the Holyhead Harpies as a Beater. With the defeat of Voldemort, she is looking forward to putting together a new life in a time of peace.

James Potter -  Fathering a newborn is definitely not an easy job, but James is definitely glad to now be the only job that he has going on now.  While the end of the war definitely came as a bit of a surprise, he can’t deny that it wasn’t a welcome one.  Now, James is just excited to be able to raise his son in a world where he doesn’t have to worry about dark wizards, and spend time with his wife.  Though, he can’t deny that Quidditch is starting to call his name once more.

Lily Potter -  Mother to a newborn Harry, relieved is not a strong enough word to describe Lily’s feelings about the war’s end. She is happily married to James, and with their best friends next door, she finally feels like she can breathe again. If only she could get some sleep. Who would have known that babies were such hard work?

Lucius Malfoy -  Having a newborn son left Lucius doing as was expected of him for the cause and nothing else to avoid getting his hands dirty since his family is more important. He retreated just before things got rough and nearly broke down when the Ministry took an interest in his involvement. Having been forced into it by his father left Luius able to give a convincing lie about having been acting under the imperious curse. With a son already in the picture it was made clear that he regretted anything he may have done under the curse.

Lucy Karoonda -  A one night stand after a Quidditch victory against England left Lucy with an unexpected pregnancy that forced her into giving up her career. She has a gut feeling the baby's father is Benjy but has yet to get the nerve to mention the pregnancy.

Marlene McKinnon - For the next two years after graduation, she struggled with the war and her family. For the first time, she was able to be proud of her family when her father refused to financially support the war. The pride was short lived when they also refused to support the Order, claiming the entire war was foolish. During the final battle, Marlene admitted her feelings to Sirius after being separated since graduation. The excitement of surviving left them in a night together and, in the most cliche result Marlene could think of, left them pregnant. As she is just now finding out, Marlene has to decide what she wants the rest of her life to look like with no job and no promise of how Sirius will want to move forward.

Narcissa Malfoy -  Narcissa Malfoy came through the war unscathed, with one baby and a second on the way. Her main priorities now are to keep her family safe and out of trouble.

Remus Lupin -  Feelings of guilt have left Remus silent. He rarely speaks and has been trying to hand back his Order of Merlin award due to feeling unworthy of it. The damage done by the Order has left him realizing the monster inside him appeared without the full moon being present.

Rita Skeeter -  Rita has come home for the first time since the birth of her son Gabriel in 1978 She previously moved to NY. Married into a wealthy publishing family. At the height of the war, being called back to see her family safe the pressure of her high profile marriage and the rules being thrust upon her drove her into Augustus’s arms- as a result Gabriel was conceived. She’s a trophy wife, her career on hold to supply children. She’s not happy.

Severus Snape -  Severus Snape spied for the order for a few short but harrowing months. Now without the crushing guilt of Lily Potter's death, he does not feel beholden to Dumbledore and resists being forced into a teaching position at Hogwarts. Free to pursue his own interests, Severus has taken a Healing apprenticeship. He still makes a hobby of supplying his friends (the ones not in Azakaban) with potions he brews in his grotty London flat. 

Sirius Black -  With the war over, Sirius is currently in a predicament with Marlene. After splitting up after graduation and spending the past couple years fighting for survival- he now finds himself facing a brand new challenge. Admitting his feelings to Marlene which ended up with them sleeping together. They know have a baby on the way but he’s still trying to find his place in a world he truly thought was over for him. He doesn’t have a job, but the Ministry have offered to fast track him into the Auror programme.

Ted Tonks -  An explosion the Death Eaters took credit for in muggle London took his brother Nolan's life and left his mother and Eli severely injured. Ted has closed off to everyone but his family and a select few, spending most of his time visiting his family in the hospital and doting on Nymphadora.

Q. In the open AUs, is everything else the same? A. Yes, up until now, everything that has happened in the roleplay has still happened! Amycus still secretly stole everyone’s art work, the star gazing event happened, the Christmas parties... all of it. This is your chance to change the future - to live out that happily ever after your character might not’ve gotten! Perhaps they proposed during the war, afraid it was their last time to speak to their loved one? Maybe they ran and now are coming back a coward? It’s basically “canon” with a happier ending, if that makes sense. Not to say that your character can’t have suffered losses! They did just fight a war.

Pottertalia Next Gen AU – Hetalia Characters’s Sorting

There is this Hetalia/Harry Potter Crossover that I’ve been thinking about a lot, but I don’t have a clear plot in mind, mostly snippets and backstories, so I think it’s quite unlikely I’ll ever actually write a fic… but I had fun sorting the characters, so I’m going to write this down.

(This is set in 2024. It ignores completely The Cursed Child since I refused to read it…)

Gryffindor

2nd Year: 

Michelle Mancham (Seychelles)

3rd Year: 

Alfred F Jones (America): I mean, he’s, like, the living embodiment of Gryffindor. He’s brave and wants to be recognized as such (looks for glory), but at the same time he’s also helpful and with a strong (even if probably too idealistic and somehow self-entitled) sense of justice. He has a very strong magic but is only average because he doesn’t like studying or exercising properly. As the son of a muggle-born and a squib, he actually went to muggle grade school before Hogwarts as his father recognized the technological and scientific advancement that makes muggles superior. Alfred is strongly interested in that, too. In summer, he studies the muggle school program and he’s excellent at Maths. He’s the beater of Gryffindor’s Quidditch team.

Matthew Williams (Canada): Alfred’s brother, but he lived with their mother (their parents divorced) and took her surname. He’s actually one year younger than Alfred but got sent to school a year earlier because he had a very powerful magic and could only partially control it. His step-father didn’t like him using magic and lashed out at him, which is why Matthew often made himself invisible. He still has trouble controlling it. He also has a familiar, Kumajiro, given to him by a powerful winter spirit that saved him as a child, when he got lost in the woods and almost froze to death. Matthew’s very diligent, he’s a gifted student who takes the most challenging subjects. He used non-verbal charms from the very start (nobody will ever convince me of the contrary). He begged the Hat to be sorted in Gryffindor with Al (the Hat was more oriented towards Hufflepuff) but sometimes he regrets it since he ends up being completely obscured by his brother. Like Alfred, he studies muggle school subjects during summer. He’s the Seeker of Gryffindor’s Quidditch team.

Erzsébet Héderváry (Hungary): Good grades and very strong magic. She takes Care of Magical Creatures. In spite of her proficiency with magic, she’s not the head-girl because she’s too bad-tempered and gets in trouble for lashing out at the BBT. The other beater of Gryffindor’s team – she and Alfred are amazing. People say they might be as good as the legendary Fred and George Weasley, even if they tend to be a tad overenthusiastic (read: too violent).

Slytherin

2nd Year:

Leon Wong (Hong Kong)

3rd Year: 

Natalya Arlovskaya (Belarus): Everybody is afraid of her. She doesn’t do any harm if she’s left alone, she’s just extremely cold and basically doesn’t interact with her peers, but insult her family, in particular her brother (step-brother, actually), and you should fear for your life. She knows an impressive (and frightening) variety of curses, she’s a gifted spell-caster. She has pretty good grades, in general.

5th Year: 

Ivan Braginsky (Russia): An average student, but can cast the strongest shield charm ever seen. Tries to befriend people but ends up scaring them because he tends to come across as creepy and is very self-serving. Beater in the Slytherin team – he and Alfred have a huge rivalry going on. They basically end up forgetting about the game and try to hit each other with the bludgers, if somebody doesn’t remind them that the aim of the game is actually another one. Yet, they both always end up with at least a bloody nose.

Albus Severus Potter

6th Year: 

Arthur Kirkland (England): Extremely gifted student. He takes all the most difficult subjects and with never less than an ‘E’, his spells are very strong. He only has some problems with potions. He also has the Sight – basically, no magical creature can make itself invisible to him and he can see through invisibility cloaks and disillusionment charms (with the exception of the Hallow’s cloak, obviously. Matthew is an exception as well because his magic isn’t a physical kind of invisibility, it’s something more like messing with people’s perceptions and mind so they will fail to realize his presence and forget about it immediately after). Seeker in Slytherin’s Quidditch team, and pretty good, too. He’s Alfred and Matthew’s half-brother (same father, but he took his mother’s surname because she’s from an ancient family and wanted her children to carry her surname).

Vlad Popescu (Romania)

7th Year:

Julia “Julchen” Beilschmidt (Nyo!Prussia): Mostly the reason Erzsébet is in trouble. Part (and mind, actually) of the BBT, aka the biggest troublemakers of the school. She has strong magic but she prefers to spend her time coming up with new pranks. To stay true to her image of troublemaker, she pretends that she doesn’t study even if she actually applies herself quite a lot, especially when it comes to practical applications of magic. She’s in strong competition with Erzsébet, they have this frenemies thing going on that is driving all the professors crazy – literally. There’s not a moment of calm when the two of them are involved. The other beater, and the other part of the reason every Slytherin-Gryffindor match turns into a bloody fight.

Hufflepuff

 1st Year: 

Raivis Galante (Latvia)

2nd Year:

Elsa Steinsdóttir (Nyo!Iceland): A very reserved, maybe even aloof girl who doesn’t understand why she’s in her house, in denial about how loyal she is and how much importance she places in her family. She has a talking familiar (Puffin). She has the Sight as well, but it’s quite faint and nowhere near comparable to Arthur’s level.

3rd Year:

Tolys Laurinaitis (Lithuania)

4th Year: 

Ludwig Beilschmidt (Germany): Probably the most hard-working student in the entire school, and hell-bent in following the rules, too. Takes difficult subjects and is very good at them. He just needs some extra time to learn his spells (he tends to rely a bit too much on theory and technical execution, not putting himself into it), but when he does they’re perfect. He’s also good with transfiguration. Keeper in the Quidditch team.

Lorcan Scamander

5th Year:

Mei Lin (Taiwan)

6th Year: 

Lovino Vargas (Romano): aka ‘the meanest Hufflepuff ever’, but he’s nice with girls and argues with anybody who doesn’t respect them. He may seem lazy, but actually isn’t – and has a strong sense of duty. Excellent at potions, probably the best student in the school.

Timo Väinämöinen (Finland): Always nice and helpful, no matter what, but strong-willed. Won’t let people put him down. Seeker in the Quidditch team. He has a familiar.

Astrid Oxenstierna (Nyo!Sweden): a silent, broody girl, but she’s actually a softie at heart. And an extremely good tutor – people are intimidated by her at first, but as soon as she starts explaining something they get it without any difficulty. Good grades. Beater in the Quidditch team.

7th Year: 

Antonio Fernandez Carriedo (Spain): He’s extremely nice and helpful, but not without a more mischievous side… He’s part of the BBT, and this tells everything. A genius in herbology, Professor Longbottom’s favourite student. Chaser in the Quidditch team.

Iryna Braginskaya (Ukraine): Nice, motherly girl. Hopes that her siblings can be happy and make friends, everybody loves her because she’s always so helpful. Always around to diffuse tense situations.

Yao Wang (China): He’s basically the school’s mother. He’s very smart and with good grades, but also spends his time taking care of younger students and giving them instructions, as well as ensuring that they follow the rules. Head-boy. 

Ravenclaw

1st Year:

Erika Zwingli (Liechtenstein): One of the sweetest Ravenclaw ever existed, very studious. May seem a bit cold at first because she’s shy, but she’s actually really nice once you get to know her.

2nd Year: 

Eduard Von Bock (Estonia)

Henri Janssens (Luxembourg)

3rd Year:

Sylwia Łukasiewicz (Nyo!Poland): I think she has some sort of peculiar intelligence. A bit like Luna, maybe. (Not so over-the-top, though.)

4th Year: 

Felicia Vargas (Fem!Italy): she’s probably the laziest Ravenclaw to have ever existed – everybody was surprised by her sorting, but she’s way too lazy to be a Hufflepuff. She has, instead, some kind of quirky intelligence – she just ‘gets’ things. While she isn’t very good at subjects that require studying and essays, she’s excellent at the practical part. Her magic is very strong and she’s strongly in tune with it, she can cast any spell without much difficulty. She has also unconsciously learnt some healing magic and can cast wandless spells.

Yong Soo Im (Korea)

5th Year:

Sigrid Bondevik (Nyo!Norway): Silent and aloof, very studious, prefers to stay alone but hell-bent to look after her half-sister, Elsa. She has the Sight, but not as strong as Arthur’s.

6th Year: 

Kiku Honda (Japan): Strong magic, his strong suit are non-verbal incantations. His spells are always very accurate, and he always researches on the dynamic behind them. Somehow, he became one of Felicia’s best friends. He still doesn’t understand how.

Hesper Karpusi (Nyo!Greece): Just as lazy as Felicia, but without her enthusiasm. She sleeps through most of the classes – and still, somehow, manages to turn in long and insightful essays. Not that good at spells, though, since she can’t be bothered to practice. She has somehow managed to smuggle tons of kittens inside Hogwarts.

7th Year: 

Francis Bonnefoy (France): The third member of the BBT. People think he gains his good grades thanks to his charm, but he’s smarter than he lets on, he can always read people and situations perfectly (he’s also quite gifted at legilimency) – and he’s very helpful, too. Just a bit too overdramatic and flirty, which can put people off. He’s Matthew and Alfred’s cousin from the mothers’ side.

Abel Janssens (Netherlands): Has a knack for marketing. Somehow managed to put up a delivery system for illegal goods – anything you may be looking for, he has it. Catcher in the Quidditch team.

Roderich Edelstein (Austria): Head boy. Always sticks to rules, and doesn’t want to get in trouble or be bothered. His cousin Julia takes full advantage of his short temper. Fascinated by muggle music, plays the piano. In spite of being in the last year, he still gets lost every day – every professor knows and the portraits have been alerted so they can guide him to the classroom. If he’s still not there twenty minutes into the lesson, somebody gets sent to fetch him.
