Because of his bloodline and his parents’ friends, Jeongin had only wizard friends during his childhood. Once at Hogwarts, however, they were all sorted into different houses and he ended up alone in Gryffindor. It wasn’t a problem for him and they still spent time together at first. But his friends spent more and more time with their housemates until one day, they finally didn’t have time for each other anymore. By that time, he found someone else too though. He met one of his prefects, Chan, who took him under his wings during the first month he arrived.
Jeongin already knew a lot about Hogwarts and the courses, he knew what facultative courses he would take the second he would have the chance but since his parents didn’t like the Frog Choir, they never talked about it. Therefore, when he first saw the students on his very first day, singing all together with frogs, he was amazed. Will his toad ever croak as beautifully? Cause yeah, he believed his toad had to be part of it to be able to join the Frog Choir and he never dared to ask Chan about it.
He tried for many months to harmonize with Froakie, but all he did was ignoring his owner or after a while, croaking so violently it was like he was telling him to shut up. He realized that, maybe, the problem didn’t come from his toad but from him. And so he exercised his voice to make it sound more pleasant to hear perhaps. He would know if it was enough when his toad would accept to harmonize with him, he figured. Jeongin practised for almost 2 years and during summer before his 3rd year, he was seated in the garden of his house with his toad, enjoying the sun. He mindlessly sang one of his favorite songs and to his surprise, Froakie croaked in rhythm with him. It became one of his happiest moments.
The second day of his 3rd year, he asked his charms teacher if he could pass the audition to join the Frog Choir. He easily passed it and was excited to start. When he found Chan revising in their common room, he directly told him.
“Chan! You’ll never know what I just did.”
The older one lifted his head up from the potions book he was reading with a smile. “Let me guess. You just had your first muggle studies lesson of the year and it’s fascinating?”
He never really knew about the muggle world so he meant to take it since his first year and he knew it would rapidly become one of his favorite classes.
“Well yeah, I did, but that’s not it.”
“What could you be more excited about if not that?” Chan was really curious now while Jeongin nervously played with the hem of his sleeve.
“The Frog Choir.”
Chan was confused because Jeongin never mentioned it before. “What about it?”
“I auditioned and got in.”
Chan’s face lit up. He was genuinely pleased to hear that his friend got to enjoy singing. “No way! I’m so happy for you Jeongin. You know who’s apart of it?”
Jeongin’s eyes widened a bit. “… No?”
Mark, a fellow Gryffindor and Quidditch player that was passing by, took part in the conversation. “There’s my 2nd year friend Chenle, his best friend and Yunho from my year.”
Oh, Chenle’s best friend. You.
“Yeah and Jaehyun too. Thanks, Mark.”
The boy smiled and left the common room. Jeongin grew nervous. As if reading his mind, Chan tried to make him feel better.
“Everything’s going to be okay, I promise!” He wished it would.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
The next day, when he entered the Great Hall filled with older and younger students chatting, seated on the benches or up on the platform, all excited to be in the choir this year as well, he felt great.
You saw him approach the platform hesitantly, he didn’t seem to be friends with anyone in particular.
“Oh, isn’t that Jeongin from Gryffindor?” asked Chenle next to you. You smiled unconsciously.
“Yeah, we should go talk to him.”
“You’re right, he looks kinda lost,” Chenle smiled.
You got up from one of the benches and joined him.
“Hey,” you greeted as you tapped his shoulder, “what are you doing here?”
“I—” he coughed but quickly regained composure. “I passed the audition to be part of the Frog Choir.”
“Oh, that’s amazing!” you exclaimed, maybe a bit too enthusiastically, and Chenle looked apologetic for your behavior. When you realized, you nudged him and smiled innocently at Jeongin, who couldn’t stop his cheeks from heating up.
The professor, who was also the charms and music professor, entered the Great Hall and all the whispers faded away. You turned to watch him get closer.
“Hello dear students. Welcome to the new ones and welcome back to the old ones.” A loud cheer followed his words and Jeongin felt like he knew he would enjoy this class.
He eventually had to present himself, like everyone else and when he did, he spoke in a small voice, showing Froakie, snuggled in his small hands. Everyone had sympathetic smiles and he heard two or three older people saying he was cute. You found him really cute too, but you kept it to yourself.
When you had to present yourself, you were at ease, knowing almost everyone already. “I’m Y/N, third year in the choir, and I got Yggorf with me, like always.”
The professor explained what he explained every year, to teach the rules to the new ones and remind them to those who were there the years before. While he talked, you were humming discreetly and mindlessly. Jeongin wasn’t far from you and it made him happy and relaxed to hear your voice, he found it soothing.
“Hey, can I ask you where Yggorf comes from?” he whispered as he got closer to you.
“Just Froggy backwards. I know, I put so much thought on this,” you laughed quietly.
Jeongin suddenly remembered the first time he saw you, the night all of the first year students were sorted, his first night ever in the castle. When you got called by a tall and intimidating professor to sit on the chair in front of everyone, you were a bit anxious. You were just eleven and you didn’t really know who you were exactly yet nor in which house you would be put. The professor put the Sorting Hat on your head and it took its time but finally, shouted “Slytherin!”. You smiled and joined your housemates. Jeongin, already seated at the Gryffindor table, gently clapped his hands until an older Gryffindor glared at him. He realized the only ones who clapped were the same house students but couldn’t comprehend why he couldn’t be happy for every new student. And so, he kept clapping quietly for everyone else (and kept doing that every year).
You quickly found a friend, though. Chenle was a bit weird but adorable. You went to see him in your common room after your first day because you thought he was funny in class and he offered you to play gobstones with him. Since, you play together at least four times a week.
Jeongin and Froakie enjoyed every practice, Jeongin because he could spend time with his new friends and Froakie because he was hanging with other toads and frogs. You suspected Froakie and your own toad, Yggorf, to be friends as well cause they were almost glued to each other every chance they got.
Jeongin realized Chenle didn’t bring any toads to practice though.
“Hey Chenle, you don’t have a frog?”
“No, I have a rat.”
“Oh, but you’re in the frog choir anyway?” Jeongin’s face screamed confusion.
“Yeah of course, don’t tell me you thought you absolutely needed a frog to join— oh. Is that why you only joined this year?” Jeongin nodded. “Oh.”
“It’s alright, at least Froakie made me work on myself so I don’t regret it.” Maybe, just maybe, if he didn’t work on himself, tried out for the Frog Choir in his first year and didn’t get in, he wouldn’t have tried again and this moment wouldn’t exist.
“I’m glad to hear that, because you have quite the skill.”
“Thanks, you ain’t bad yourself.”
Chenle thanked Jeongin and both smiled at each other before going back to practice.
Jeongin and you had classes together, like care of magical creatures. He was really passionate about it and cared about them a lot. He took the subject so seriously that he knew almost everything there was to know about every creature you learned about. It made him the best in this class and you admired him for that.
Jeongin often talked to you about muggle studies. You didn’t take that course because you were a halfblood and already knew everything you needed to know. Every time Jeongin had a question, he went to you in the halls or after classes to know the answer, not able to wait for the next muggle studies class to ask the professor herself or even ask Chan, a muggleborn. Chenle kept telling you it was because he wouldn’t miss a chance to spend time with you.
Since you started talking, you spent time with each other every chance you got, practice, shared classes, after class, weekends… Jeongin had now found friends he was never going to let go of. You were happy to spend time with him, he was really cute and charming.
Chenle was feeling like third wheeling but he didn’t mind, he just wanted his friends to date and be happy.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
“Jeongin, we’ve been friends for months now, and I know I can trust you.”
“Okay…?”
“I’m going to be straightforward. Do you like Y/N?”
Jeongin was out with Chenle, walking on the school grounds while you were at the library, finishing a mortally boring history of magic homework. His cheeks heated up at the mention of your name followed by the word “like”.
“What? Of course I like them, we’re friends,” he tried while nervously playing with his hands.
“I mean more than friends,” he innocently smiled.
“I—” Jeongin gulped. “I don’t know. I could. Or not. I mean, they’re cute. And smart. Passionate too. Also—”
“So, no feelings, huh?” Chenle laughed at his friend’s rambling and gave him a tap on the shoulder.
You joined them soon after and found Jeongin acting weirdly. You didn’t question it, he was definitely adorable.
Obviously, Jeongin wasn’t indifferent to your charm, he liked you since your first year but never dared to talk to you. Still, he needed to understand his feelings better, to at least know if it was friendship or love. He needed to talk about it with Chan. Jeongin went to the Gryffindor common room to find him and he was alone on the couch.
“Chan, I need you.”
“Why that serious tone?”
“It’s about Y/N.”
“Chenle’s best friend? What about them?”
Jeongin sat next to his older friend on the comfortable couch. “They’re more than that, Chan. How do you know you like someone?”
Chan smiled fondly at the thought of his lover. They had been together for around two months now. “Well, you always want to spend time with the person. You’re happy just to see them smile, you look up to them and are whipped for them. Like you could do anything for them in a heartbeat. These kinds of things.”
“I guess I really like them, then.” He looked down, lost in thought —of you, naturally.
“Cool! When are you going to tell them?”
“Wait, I need to know if they feel the same way now,” Jeongin put a hand up, pouting lightly.
Chan smiled. “What if they end up asking you first?”
“I would be relieved, not going to lie. Because it would mean they like me too, and I wouldn’t have to worry about saying the right things,” he explained.
“Our Jeonginnie’s in love~” Chan chanted excitedly.
“Stop!” Jeongin whined.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
“Chenle!” you called your friend who was doing his history homework on an armchair in the common room.
“Yes, Y/N??”
“Did Jeongin ever talk to you about me?”
He put down his quill and glared you in the eye as you sat next to him, looking at him questionably. “Did you finally understand you have feelings for him?”
You recoiled in your seat. “What? No—”
“Don’t lie to me Y/N, I’m your best friend.”
“Why would you ask a question you already know the answer of, then?” you pouted.
“To see if you’re ready for that talk.”
You sighed. “I hate you.”
“No you don’t,” he winked, then wrote one last sentence to his parchment before tidying up his stuff. “So. I talked to him about you and let me tell you that boy is WHIPPED. Can’t blame him, you’re cute.”
“Thanks… wait, he likes me too??”
Ignoring you, he went on with his plan. “Now, the question is… will you ask him out?”
“Wait, am I ready for that? I’m only thirteen!”
“True, but we’re not talking about marriage nor kids yet… just a romantic relationship with kisses and hugs.”
“You seem to have thought about all this a lot…”
“I’ve waited for this talk for months now,” he sighed tiredly.
“Shouldn’t we ask Changbin about love? No offense, but he might know more about the subject.”
“Of course, go ask him. He’s by the fireplace.” You turned around and saw Changbin on the couch, seemingly revising a charms spell. You walked up to him.
“Hey Changbin, can I ask you a question?”
He looked up at you with a smile. “Hey, isn’t that my favorite Slytherin? Green really looks good on you, Y/N.” You giggled, Changbin was really nice to the younger students but you knew it was a Changbin trait, not a prefect one.
“You said I was your favorite Slytherin yesterday!” shouted Chenle, pouting. Changbin laughed while you pulled your tongue out in his direction.
“Sit, tell me everything,” he said as he patted the place next to him.
“Well, it’s a matter of love.”
“Oh, love. Aren’t you a bit young to be thinking about that?”
“Maybe, but I just needed your advice. I like Jeongin, and I don’t really know how to tell him.” Actually, he just heard from Minho, who heard it from Jisung, who heard it from Chan that Jeongin liked you.
“Jeongin, you say? He’s one of my friends. My little finger told me he likes you too, you can go and ask him. As for how, why not propose him to go at Madam Puddifoot's tea shop? It's perfect for dates.”
“Thank you so much Changbin, you’re the best!” You hugged him tight and returned to your best friend, a big smile on your face.
“Should I remind you that you told me I was the best this very morning?”
“You’re both the best for different reasons. Like, you’re my best friend and he’s my best prefect.”
“I’ll let it pass,” he said, not without rolling his eyes.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
After charms class, you stopped Jeongin to ask him something while Chenle left in a hurry.
“Would you, maybe, come with me at Madam Pudifoot’s tea shop tomorrow at 4:30pm?”
Jeongin went silent for a few seconds, processing what he had just heard. It sounded like you were asking him on a date, because the tea shop was known for couple dates. He was confused but his face lit up and he agreed vividly.
“Cool, it’s a date. I have to go to Hogsmeade now but I’ll see you later,” you explained and got out of class, Jeongin behind you. A date? His stomach was doing things he didn’t think were possible.
“Want me to come with you?”
“No! I mean, no need, I’m going with Chenle already. Why don’t you practice the banishing charm we just learned?”
“I—” But you were already out of sight, finding Chenle and going to Hogsmeade together. You didn’t mean to be rude, you just couldn’t take him with you for this.
“I did it. He said yes.” Your smile said it all about how you were feeling and Chenle was pondering what reaction was best, smile or laugh.
“You’re brave, I’m proud of you. As expected, he likes you very much.” Your cheeks burned and you didn’t talk until you were at Hogsmeade.
“I’ll get him cauldron cakes, he said he liked those a few weeks ago,” Chenle said before entering Honeydukes.
“Right. I’ll see what I can find in Gladrags Wizardwear.” You entered the shop as well, searching for accessories. Pretty matching bracelets were disposed of on a shelf and you immediately felt like they were the one. Paying 6 galleons, you asked the owner to wrap one of the bracelets in a lovely gift wrap.
When you found Chenle outside of Honeydukes, he chuckled at the bracelet on your wrist. “You really know how to win a boy’s heart.”
“What’s that supposed to mean??” You looked offended but he just giggled.
Meanwhile, Jeongin went to see Hyunjin for advice. He found him on the pitch and watched the Gryffindor Quidditch team practice.
“Hyunjin!” he called as the older one came out of the changing room.
“Jeongin, hey.”
“Y/N just asked me! On a date!” He excitedly jumped around.
“Oh my god, that’s amazing!” he high fived his friend. “When is it planned?”
“Tomorrow.”
The older raised an eyebrow. “But that’s your birthday?”
“I haven’t told them that… By the way, right after that, they said they had to go to Hogsmeade with Chenle and insisted I don’t tag along,” he pouted, looking down.
“Jeongin, don’t you think that, perhaps, they also need time to prepare?”
“Right, of course. Can you help me with that?”
“Get ready, I won’t repeat myself,” he said with a smile, throwing his arm on Jeongin's shoulders, walking together to the school.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
The big day had arrived, you were waiting at a table next to the window, playing with your new bracelet. Jeongin entered the shop, spotted you and sat in front of you. Madam Puddifoot came taking the order and left just as fast. It was awkward at first, neither of you being totally comfortable with the date thing. Jeongin decided to act as usual, not wanting to be weird and following his older friend’s advice diligently.
It soon was as if you did this your whole life. You chatted like you always did.
Your tea was almost completely drunk. You took the gift you bought the day before out of your pocket and put it on the table, next to Jeongin’s cup of tea.
“What is this?” he asked, surprised.
“Your gift. Happy birthday,” you smiled contently.
He was delighted you would ask him on a date the day of his birthday but receiving a gift from you? He was nearly overwhelmed by happiness. “How did you know?” he enquired while opening it.
You shrugged. “I asked Changbin.”
“Woah, it’s really beautiful!” Jeongin’s eyes were sparkling, examining the bracelet. “So pretty. Thank you so much, Y/N.”
“My pleasure. Let me put it on your wrist.” As you did, his eyes fell on your own wrist and his eyes broadened.
“Did you get us matching bracelets?” You acquiesced shyly. “This is the best gift I’ve ever received.”
He took your hands in his and you stayed like that for a few minutes, until someone from another table sneezed.
“Regarding us, what I know is that I really like you. I want to hold hands with you, hug you whenever you need and be there for you. If you’re okay with that, then would you be my boyfriend?”
“I’d be the happiest, Y/N. Just spending time with you makes me so happy.”
You kept the heart eyes for each other and the rest of the date went smoothly.
The moment you set foot on the entrance hall, Chenle ran to you and started screaming when he saw your intertwined fingers.
He clapped his hands and congratulated you both. He then wished a happy birthday to Jeongin and gave him his gift.
“Oh Chenle, thank you so much! I adore those.”
Chenle winked at you and smiled brightly.
(っ◔◡◔)っ ✿
“Hey Chan, I just saw Jeongin and Y/N passing by, wearing each other’s ties. Isn’t that cute?”
“It really is. I would have loved to try it too but my significant other is also a Gryffindor,” he shrugged, smiling.
“That’s right. My best friend is also a Slytherin, so we can’t do it either,” Changbin sighed.
“You still didn’t make your move?”
“They like someone else…”
“Oh, it sucks. Stay strong, my friend.”
“You’re really good at pep talk,” Changbin said sarcastically. “I can’t believe your house is in first position —for now— for the Quidditch cup.”
“Watch us win it,” he smugly said with a wink.

the marriage and baby project (teaser)
PAIRING ▸ mark lee x fem!reader
GENRES ▸ smut, fluff, crack, college au, fake dating (marriage?) au
SUMMARY ▸ mark lee has had the biggest crush on you for years, so, naturally, he’s over the moon when you’re both partnered for a group project. however, he underestimates just how close two people can get when they have to pretend they’re married for a month while taking care of a fake baby.
ESTIMATED WORD COUNT ▸ 8k words
AUTHOR’S NOTE ▸ the dunk shot series is not dead guys :’) sorry this series was sort of at a standstill for a bit but here’s the teaser for mark’s installment !! ♡ send me an ask or comment if you want to be on the tag list! (warnings will be added in the final fic)
THE ONLY REASON WHY MARK TOOK FAMILY AND CONSUMER SCIENCE WAS BECAUSE his friends told him it would be an easy A for a general education requirement he needed to fulfill. No one clued him in on having to become a married man and father.
“Hi, Mark,” you greeted with a smile, sliding into the seat next to him. “I guess I’m Y/N Lee for the next few weeks.”
He felt his heart drop to his stomach.
Here was a brief rundown: you were essentially a femme fatale, a drop-dead gorgeous it-girl; and Mark was a loser who was somewhat good at playing basketball. On top of that, Mark harbored the biggest crush on you since forever.
Forever dated back to high school. Although Mark never spoke to you much, he had always thought you were the most breathtaking individual he had ever seen. That was probably why he was malfunctioning right now. He had never gotten the opportunity to be around you like this, mostly because you were dating Vernon Chwe up until last year. All he could do was admire from afar helplessly, eyes lingering as you strode down hallways.
Chenle told him that there was a definite shelf life on relationships like yours and Vernon’s—relationships that were mostly physical—so he was confident you two wouldn’t last. And he was right. When you and Vernon broke up, Mark felt bad seeing your sad eyes, but an ugly part of him had been waiting for it to happen.
This situation, however, was like winning the lottery. Not only was he partnered up with you, but he had to play the role of your husband? Things like this never really happened to Mark, so he figured some misfortunate was coming his way soon.
“Hey, Y/N,” he managed to get out.
“Come up and get your babies,” the professor instructed. “These RealCare infant simulators use wireless programming to track and report on your behaviors, which is why I had you all sign those consent forms.” She held up one of the dolls for everyone to see. “I’m not gonna require you all to keep your dolls in a car seat, but I will be able to see records of misuse, clothing changes, temperature changes, whether you’ve rocked, fed, or burped your baby, or respond to its cries.”
Great. He had to walk around campus with a plastic baby. Mark’s friends were never going to let him live this down.
He wondered if the RealCare infant could play basketball.
He turned to face you again. “Do you want a boy or girl?”
“Mark Lee,” his professor chided, and he nearly jumped when saw her standing right beside his desk. “You don’t get to choose the gender of your child in real life, so I’ll be randomly assigning each couple a baby.”
“I don’t think we’ve considered the possibility of gene editing.”
“You can take that up with Congress.”

Head Over Broomsticks | J.JH
SYNOPSIS. When your friends are tired of watching you and your crush go around in circles, they take matters into their own hands. Putting their Advanced Potions skills to the test, Donghyuck and Chenle conjure up a powerful truth serum and slip it in your drink right before a Quidditch game, which leads to a few inappropriate comments about No. 77, Jeong Jaehyun, of Gryffindor’s Quidditch team. This would’ve been fine if you were just a regular spectator but you are much more than that--you’re the Announcer and everyone is subjected to hear your unfiltered thoughts. Just great.
PAIRING. Gryffindor Beater!Jaehyun x (f) Quidditch Announcer!Reader GENRE. Hogwarts!AU, Sports!AU, Quidditch!AU, humor, fluff, suggestive WORD COUNT. 3.5k+ WARNINGS. reader makes a lot of suggestive comments/innuendos that are also Quidditch puns (referring to Jaehyun’s parts as a bat, bludger, stick, broom, etc.), profanity, kiss, mentions of food and drinks, spiking a drink with a truth potion, no explicit scenes!
DISCLAIMER. This is work of fiction. I do not own the people/characters and concepts I have written about. You cannot translate or copy my work.
“Hello, Hogwarts, and welcome to the first Quidditch game of the season!”
A deafening roar made its way through the Quidditch Pitch. The game itself tapped on the centuries old Slytherin versus Gryffindor rivalry that brought everyone to the stands. Each bench was filled to the brim, students and staff alike huddling together to all warm the wooden benches. Those who weren’t able to find a seat surrounded the Pitch’s borders, straining their necks for hours to watch the game taking place in the sky, hands covered with gloves and filled with flags to support their beloved team.
Professor Minho Choi, the official Hogwarts referee and the school’s very own flying instructor, stood in the middle of the Pitch with the wiggling chest. Everyone watched in anticipation as he spoke to the players, green and red, hovering above him. No one could hear his exact words but you all assumed it was warnings to play a nice clean game. All players closed their eyes on his command. His scuffed, leather boot kicked the side of the chest, releasing all the required equipment for the game to start.
“Out come the Bludgers. The Golden Snitch comes next; that’s worth a whopping 150 points, if you don’t remember! Whichever team seeker snatches the fast flier first will earn those points and will end the game!” Choi’s gloved hands took hold of the Quaffle, taking a second to smile at the players, before tossing it into the air. “The Quaffle is released and the game begins!”
Amongst the spectators, of course, was you with your hands gripping the announcer’s microphone, usually dedicated to relaying every single move. And although you were initially excited to be at the game, where you would hear the angry swish of brooms along with the cheers and jeers, you were now hating every little second that passed. Why? Because, no matter how unfiltered your thoughts were when it came to Quidditch, it seemed that this time around, you were on another level.
“There goes number seventy-seven, Jaehyun Jeong of Gryffindor, hitting the Bludger away from his side of the field and onto the other. Oh, how I would let him beat me with his sti—” Your comment was interrupted by a wand poking your side. Professor Changmin Shim, the Gryffindor head, simply glared at you before jerking his head to the current game on the pitch. “Sorry, Professor!”
It wasn’t like you wanted to make comments such as that one out loud—your crush on the handsome Quidditch player was something you wanted to keep to yourself and your small group of friends. The thing was, no matter how hard you tried to restrain them, they just spilled out of your mouth. The words flew out faster than the Golden Snitch zooming around the field—there was no way of stopping them.
You couldn’t catch your words.
Merlin’s beard, you could barely keep your mouth shut to begin with. That was how you ended up at the next Hogwarts Quidditch Announcer, following in the footsteps of the loudmouth Lee Jordan and the mischievous Baekhyun Byun. Despite that fact, you were never that explicit when commenting on plays. The unfiltered thoughts resonating through the microphone was all thanks to your idiot friends, Donghyuck Lee and Chenle Zhong.
“You are dead to me,” you whispered harshly at your friends.
“You always say that, mate,” Donghyuck said as he stretched, resting his palms behind his thick head of hair.
“When are you going to actually act on your threats?” Chenle added on with a smirk.
“Today. Say your goodbyes, boys,” you say with an evil glint in your sharp eyes, doing their best to follow the plays. You leaned forward and made a comment about Slytherin’s swift Keeper blocking the Quaffle from entering the middle hoop, earning a cheer from their fans.
“How long does this potion last?”
“Six hours, give or take,” Chenle recited from memory. Two hours had passed since you consumed it and each game lasted around two hours. Hypothetically, you would have to deal with the effects of the serum for two more hours. “Why?”
“Time to find your crushes and blurt every dirty little secret you rascals have.”
There was a reason you three got along. You were all menaces. Their eyes widened and before they could beg for your forgiveness, your eyes caught the Pitch’s referee making a call. Leaning into the mic, your voice boomed throughout the yard. “FOUL!” Your volume increased as the passion for the game overcame you. “Slytherin was just issued a foul for cobbing, rightfully so! KEEP YOUR SHARP ELBOWS TO YOURSELVES, YOU DAMN SNAKES! I’M LOOKING AT YOU, NAKAMOTO! I HOPE YOU DON’T MAKE IT TO THE HOUSE FINALS!”
“Hey!” Donghyuck placed his hand over his heart, pretending to be offended by your comment.
“Oh, don’t get all soft on me now,” you roll your eyes at him. “You’re a damn snake for pulling that stunt and you know it.”
“Hiss hiss, motherfucker.”
“Ten points from Slytherin,” Professor Taeyeon Kim blurted out from the bench behind you.
Donghyuck and Chenle’s big eyes became circles at their own house head’s betrayal. “Professor Kim, what gives?!”
“No need to curse, Lee, hold yourself with dignity,” your instructor held her ground, her eyes not even leaving the field to give her two students a chance.
Smart yet dumb was how you would describe your meddling friends. Much like every friend group, each person had their own strengths. Donghyuck and Chenle’s strong suits just so happened to be Potions and they always used it to their advantage. Because you were afraid to confess your feelings to Jaehyun, the two decided to take matters into their own grimy hands. They slipped Veritaserum—a truth serum—into your morning coffee that you chugged before rushing to the Pitch.
Your liking towards Jaehyun developed over time. It didn’t hit you all at once like your other crushes. In fact, you didn’t like him at all at first. His cockiness when it came to his athletic ability irked you in your previous years as a Quidditch fan. Jaehyun’s confidence grew throughout the years, his second-year benchwarmer days long behind him once he had a chance to debut his skills. Some people wanted to be him, others just wanted him.
Others much like yourself.
Especially when all he would do was blush in your presence. (And yet, you still couldn’t bring yourself to confess.)
If anything, it made Jaehyun all the more attractive in your eyes. He could barely make it through a Friday Potions lesson with you as his partner once, stumbling over his words as he read the recipe out to you. It turned your cauldron into a ticking bomb, the gooey substance exploding all over your robes. Jaehyun, who was never a klutz when it came to these things, flushed with embarrassment while you stared blankly at him, hands filled with what was meant to be your exit ticket at the end of class. Professor Yunho Jeong made the two of you stay behind to clean the mess up as he graded your papers. The Gryffindor coach, who doubled as the potions professor, was secretly entertained by his star athlete’s lack of coordination and words the whole time.
“God, I’m so sorry, I really don’t know how I mixed up the words like that,” Jaehyun reiterated while he scrubbed the sticky floor. His red and gold tie dangling too and fro with each miniscule movement. The athlete was on his hands and knees right next to you with his long, white sleeves rolled up above his elbows. His robe and sweater vest were long forgotten, settled on his assigned lab bench, mingling with your own belongings.
“Jaehyun, it’s okay. People make mistakes like this all the time–”
“I know but–”
“Jae,” you said, clearly exasperated, “for the last time, it’s okay.”
When your classmate failed to reply, you turned to see a redness spread from his ears, down to his cheeks, and dot his precious nose. He blinked slowly, pretty mouth opened just a tad.
“What? Why are you looking at me like that?” you wiped your face with the back of your palm, pushing your loose strands out of your sight. “Is there something on my face? I thought I already wiped it all off.”
Your comment pulled him from his thoughts, his hands shaking in front of you. “No, there’s nothing on your face. It’s not that.”
“Then what?” you poked the bear, shifting your attention until it was fully on him. Jaehyun looked at you with a bashful expression and you jutted your jaw towards him, giving him that silent reassurance.
“You called me Jae,” he said after a beat, “you’ve never done that before. Only my friends call me Jae.”
“Oh, sorry! I didn’t mean to, it just slipped.”
“Wait, no, I didn’t mean it like that. I was just surprised,” Jaehyun laughed nervously, “that’s all.”
“If you don’t want me to call you that, Jaehyun, you can just say so, it’s alright.” Gritting your teeth, you went back to work, adding an insane amount of pressure into your scrubbing. You wanted the cold floors to swallow you whole.
A warm hand rested itself on your forearm, halting your movements. “You can call me Jae.” His soft and sweet brown irises found yours, the tiny corners of his eyes lifting up as he smiled.
“Are you sure?”
“As sure as I can be.” Jaehyun’s hand gave you a little squeeze and a giggle escaped you. Turning away from him, you shyly continued your work, way too flustered to maintain eye contact.
Another second passed before Jaehyun’s low voice spoke again, “Call me whatever you like.”
Even after that exchange, Jaehyun still felt extremely apologetic for putting you through that on a Friday. He felt so bad that he went out of his way to find your friends to ask for your favorite dessert. The same dessert Donghyuck and Chenle mentioned showed up via owl delivery with the sweetest note on a Sunday morning. You found Jaehyun in class the next week, thanking him for the thoughtful gesture, failing to mention that you saw him frantically fighting a younger student for the last dessert in the case at Honeydukes. The moment remained in your head years later, when you did, in fact, call him whatever you liked.
“He certainly has quite the Bludger, doesn’t he? Jeong is so hot,” you swooned as Jaehyun leaned back on his broomstick, padded arms stretching towards the sky. He snuck a glance towards you, eyes meeting across the way, and you just knew that his red ears were hiding underneath his brown helmet.
Your focus wasn’t even on the game anymore as the seekers dove towards the grass in an attempt to catch the snitch. You had tunnel vision with the student that claimed your heart.
Number twenty-nine of the Gryffindor team, Chaser John Suh, decided it was high time to stop right in front of your stand. His shouting voice was loud enough for your microphone to pick up, projecting his comment throughout the field. “He really does, I’ve seen it with my own two eyes!”
Ripples of laughter moved through the audience like a wave.
“I’d like to take a ride on seventy-seven’s broom, if you know what I mean,” you shot back, eyes trailing said player as he swung his bat to deflect a Bludger.
Fuck, why couldn’t your brain just shut up? You cringed at every single lewd comment that escaped your motor mouth, slapping your forehead repeatedly without end.
As that comment rang throughout the stadium, Jaehyun’s broom shifted in your direction so quickly, the boy almost lost his steadiness. Known for his insane balancing skills, Jaehyun wasn’t one to be easily knocked off his feet; after all, his job in the sport was to maintain his balance while handling his hat to ward away unwanted Bludgers. You, however, were the only one who could make him this way.
Johnny knew it and so did the rest of the Gryffindor team. And as his best friend and fellow teammate, it was Johnny’s job to embarrass Jaehyun, even if it cost their team losing the game. The Gryffindor members grew tired of Jaehyun’s flustered state whenever he came near you. The confidence in him disappeared every time the beater flew past you and Johnny knew pushing the buttons of your thoughts would do the job.
“I think everyone knows what you mean, sweetheart,” Johnny laughed, “I’m sure he wouldn’t be opposed to it!”
“Suh, don’t you dare make me take points away from my own house!” Professor Shim hissed, pointing his wand towards the center of the field.
“Sir, yes, sir!” The Chaser saluted with a grin, zooming back into position.
The game continued with your usual distracted commentary, the animated remarks amplifying tenfold when it came to player seventy-seven, which made the match all the more interesting. For an opening game of the season, it was the closest match the school had seen in years: 210-200 with Slyterin barely in the lead.
“Slytherin Chaser trio–Nakamoto, Ten Lee, and Yangyang Liu–speed their way through in the famed Hawkhead Attacking formation, to force the Gryffindor Chasers aside. A great tactic for the snakes, may I add and OH–Chaser Suh is on their tail, zooming in behind–NO, WAIT–next to them, fast enough to break their tight triangle! AMAZING WORK, SUH! The Quaffle is now in his hands. He’s going towards the other end of the field with Jeong following behind, deflecting all the Bludgers Slytherin throws Suh’s way.” Your eyes never left the dynamic duo as they inched towards the hoops belonging to their opponents. Your vision flitted to your crush, who fell into place right next to Johnny, broom in one hand and bat swinging around in circles on the other. His gaze resembled a radar, grazing the Pitch for the incoming hardballs that were most definitely going to fly Johnny’s way. Jaehyun barely managed to knock out another ball that was aimed to harm Johnny with his bat before the elder took the clear shot in front of him.
“AND HE SCORES! GRYFFINDOR AND SLYTHERIN ARE NOW TIED AND IT’S ALL TO JEONG’S BEAUTIFUL ASSIST DURING SUH’S THROW!” Your fingers pressed on the button of the scoreboard, increasing the number on Gryffindor’s side. Your loyalties were as clear as day. “Jeong, what else can those hands do? I’d try ‘em out for size.”
“Bloody hell, someone please get her off the mic before I do it myself,” Professor Shim muttered more to himself than to anyone else.
“Ah, but where’s the fun in that, Professor?” Donghyuck smirked, the gleam in his eye glowing as brightly as ever.
“Ten points from Slytherin,” the teacher announced, eyes still focused on the game. He swore that particular duo reminded him of the legendary Weasley twins that were in his year during his time at Hogwarts. Donghyuck’ s grin immediately dropped.
“Professor!” Chenle tried to protest.
“Each.” Both Slytherins felt their shoulders sink. They could practically picture the green sand in their hourglass decrease.
There was barely time to chuckle at their misery when a power play occurred right before your very eyes. You felt the two Seekers–Renjun Huang of Slytherin and Mark Lee of Gryffindor–fly past you before you saw them, the athletes riding their brooms faster than the speed of light. There were no questions asked when they were picked to be their team’s representatives. Both boys, although young, were lithe speedsters that were hard to spot with a normal eye. Even the hardcore fans at Hogwarts had a rough time keeping their eyes on their teammates.
“Off the Seekers go, towards the Slytherin’s end of the Pitch, following the Snitch wherever it may go. Whoever gets it first will break the tie and win the game. Lee’s on enemy territory with almost no one to defend him–a bat just hit a Bludger right in Mark’s direction with two Chasers locking him in–AND A QUICK SAVE FROM JEONG ALLOWS LEE TO BREAK FREE AND CONTINUE ON HIS QUEST FOR THE SNITCH! Great work, Jeong! Goodness, I’d kiss you if I could. Hell, I’d do whatever you want me to!”
A collective hiss of your name came from the professors surrounding you but at this point, you didn’t care.
The force of Jaehyun’s swing causes his broom to propel him straight in front of your stand. Jaehyun hovered before you with that dimpled grin and even though the wacky flying goggles blocked his cheeks, you just knew that they matched the color of his Gryffindor uniform. Maybe the surge of confidence came from his plays. Maybe it came from your unending compliments, but it was enough to make him draw his broom closer to where you sat, look straight into your eyes, and say, “Do whatever you want to me. I’d love it all.”
His act of courage caused your eyes to widen, grip the microphone in your hands with whitened knuckles, that you missed Mark Lee doing a deep dive straight for the grass with an outstretched hand, his fingers finally grabbing hold of the Snitch after two hours of flying.
A sharp jab to your side–courtesy of Donghyuck–snapped you back into reality. You were able to guess the results of the game by the way all the Gryffindors surrounded Mark, who was lifted on Johnny’s shoulders. But even as you announced the winners of the game–Gryffindor with 260 points–your eyes did not falter from Jaehyun Jeong. He did not rush to join his teammates. He stayed there, ripping his goggles off his eyes, to look right at you.
Jaehyun reached over to change the score on the board, his face loitering so close to yours. His lips were close enough to taste and the victory glow made him look like an angel in red. Jaehyun’s post-game look, with his messy helmet hair and sweat-slicked skin, was a sight for sore eyes, you couldn’t look away from him. You couldn’t even try.
“How about this Saturday?”
“What?”
“Saturday. You and me. Hogsmeade. How ‘bout it?”
“Really?”
Jaehyun’s pretty grin widened as you questioned him. “Really.”
“Okay, this Saturday. It’s a date.”
Jaehyun backed away to clear enough space to do a quick, nerdy little spin on his Starsweeper, making you laugh wholeheartedly at his cuteness. His broom led him straight to you once again. “I should head over to”–he jerked his head in the direction of his team–“celebrate with the rest of the guys but be my date to the afterparty?”
“That’d be a dream come true,” you admitted, the truth serum still working its wonders.
“Brilliant,” he chuckled in both awe and disbelief. “I’ll wait outside the Common Room for you.”
“Sounds wonderful.”
Jaehyun flew away to join the rest of the Gryffindors, still throwing Mark in the air. He stopped midway on his path, when the crowds around you were thinning out and you were beginning to pack up your belongings. Like acting on instinct, his Starsweeper brought him back to you one more time. He yelled out your name, grabbing the attention of everyone still on the Pitch. They all turned into onlookers as he floated on air. His body was on the front end of the broom, hands resting at the tip and torso leaning towards you.
“One more thing before I go,” Jaehyun said. On his face was a lovesick expression, one that no one else could mimic.
You cocked your head to the side. “Yes?”
Jaehyun closed the distance between your lips with the slightest bit of pressure. You sighed into it, meeting him with a bit more eagerness that had him smiling into the kiss. He pressed another one and then another one, with a strong arm wrapping around your middle and the other snaking up to cup your jaw. It was the best victory kiss he could ever ask for.
His lips lingered and you could still feel his breathing as he balanced on the broom. His lashes tickled your skin before he drew back from your personal bubble. Jaehyun’s whole face was red, from the tips of his ears to the bottoms of his apple cheeks as he flew backwards, the broom already leading the way. “I’ll see you later, alright, lovely?”
“I wouldn’t miss it for the world, Jae.”
One truth serum was all it took for you to get the boy. For once, your blabbering mouth didn’t lead you to trouble. As much as you wanted to kill Chenle and Donghyuck for making you suffer, you supposed a thank you was in order as well. After all, they led you to the best feeling in the world, falling head over broomstick for Gryffindor’s all-star Beater, Jaehyun Jeong.
Even with twenty points taken away from your house for your lewd comments and your unexpected public display of affection, it was a great way to kick off another year at Hogwarts. With your mind and heart fluttering like the Golden Snitch in Mark’s hand, you couldn’t wait to see what else was in store.
AUTHOR’S HOWLER. Happy Jaehyun Day, my loves! My Valentine self is back, writing for Jaehyun again. I really missed writing for him <3 I hope everyone enjoys this lil fic. It’s been sitting in my drafts for years and I’m so happy it’s finally being released. I tried my best to make OC sound like Lee Jordan and stay true to the characters in the books. His loud scream was the first thing that Sumi heard that morning. Sumi grumbled a long string of curses to herself before she lifted her head off of the table. Looking around the Great Hall with groggy eyes, Sumi found the source of the disturbance.
Lee Donghyuck.
Sumi was never fond of him. Or at least, she liked to convince herself she wasn’t. Whenever he was with his friends, he was loud and energetic, causing more disturbances in the span of ten minutes than Sumi ever did in her entire lifetime. Arguably, he was one of the most obnoxious people she had ever met. Yet she somehow kept finding herself watching him, noticing little things he did and the little bits and pieces that others might miss.
Under his bubbly personality, Donghyuck was really a gentle soul. When he’s without his friends, Donghyuck actually seemed to be tolerable to Sumi. She liked it when he was quiet and thoughtful and she appreciated how approachable he was to everyone.
Unfortunately for Sumi, today was one of those moments where she couldn’t necessarily appreciate Donghyuck’s presence. His howling screams and loud laugh cut through the Great Hall and greatly disturbed Sumi’s peace and quiet.
Sumi gave a tired look at the energetic brunette before putting her head back on the table. The Great Hall was filled with chatter and the clatter of utensils against plates that morning. All the students were excited for the day since it would be the first quidditch match of the season. Slytherin vs Hufflepuff.
All around the Great Hall, students dressed in black robes were eating happily with their Hogwarts Houses. From across the hall, Slytherins and Gryffindors glared at each other while Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws talked amongst themselves, occasionally waving hello to their friends outside of the house.
“Is she really sleeping?”
“Seems like it,”
“Should we wake her up? All the food will be gone,”
Sumi let out a groan and tried to hide her face further into her arms when she felt someone start to shake her. She lifted her hand and swatted away the person’s hand. Her friends laughed before going back to their food and chatting. Jisung sighed and poked Sumi in the face with his free hand.
“Will you please eat,” he said more than asked.
“I’m not hungry,” Sumi replied, “Let me sleep,” she heard Jisung sigh before he began to eat his food. Sumi exhaled gently before opening her eyes and sitting up.
She was greeted with a bright smiling face and she could already hear his teasing tone before he even opened his mouth.
“Good morning,” Chenle smiled.
Sumi gave him a bored look and picked up a piece of toast and put some eggs on her plate. Chenle and Jisung both glanced at her before they went on eating their breakfast. Occasionally they would slip some more food onto Sumi’s plate without her noticing and she would eat it without realizing.
“Today is the first match of the year,” Jisung said, “Are you nervous?”
Sumi shrugged.
Chenle and Jisung gave her a look, “Sumi, today is the first match of the year. You’re the captain.”
Sumi shrugged again and Chenle and Jisung both let out exasperated sighs. Before the two of them could scold and badger Sumi about being more enthusiastic, Sumi put her utensils down and downed her entire water.
“There’s no way I lose to Lee Donghyuck this year,” Sumi said.
––
By noon time, the whole school seemed to be out in the stands around the Quidditch pitch, it was the first match of the year. The seats might be raised high in the air, but it was still difficult to see what was going on sometimes, so many students had binoculars to get a better view. Chenle sat in the announcer’s box while Jisung and Sumi got ready in the locker rooms.
Sumi was quiet as Jisung went around checking up on the team. She kept staring at the chalkboard with their defensive and offensive plans. A loud snap caused the other Hufflepuffs to turn their attention to Sumi. She had her wand out, pointing straight at offensive plan number 4. The rest of the team seemed to understand and a wide smirk emerged on all of their faces.
A booming cheer rose from the stands as the emerald robes of the Slytherin Quidditch team emerged onto the pitch. An equally loud cheer shook the pitch when the amber robes of the Hufflepuffs appeared.
Madam Hooch was refereeing today and the Hufflepuffs and Slytherins flew towards the ground when she blew her whistle. She stood in the middle of the field waiting for the two teams, her broom in her hand. “Now, I want a nice fair game, all of you,” she said, once they were all gathered around her. “Mount your brooms, please.”
Sumi mounted her broom and gave a dull look at Donghyuck. He returned with a blazing smile. She rolled her eyes at him which only seemed to make him smile bigger.
“Hey, Susu,” Donghyuck said with a teasing smile.
Sumi ignored him.
“If I win, will you go on a date with me?”
Sumi nearly choked on her own spit when she heard his proposal. It was no secret to the school that Donghyuck liked Sumi, but she always had her doubts. She was sure that Donghyuck just liked to joke and tease her. She gave him an incredulous look but he just shrugged. “It was worth asking,” he smiled.
“It seems like you’ve lost a few brain cells, Lee,” Sumi rolled her eyes, “One too many bludgers to the head?”
“And here I thought Hufflepuffs were supposed to be nice,” Jaemin mumbled to Donghyuck.
“And who said that?” Sumi rolled her eyes, some of the other Hufflepuffs snickered and laughed at her snide remarks. Despite her dismissiveness, Sumi didn’t fail to notice the disappointment in Donghyuck’s eyes
Madam Hooch sighed and shook her head as she gave a loud blast on her silver whistle and fifteen brooms rose up straight into the air.
––
Sumi let out a long huff, watching as the air around her fogged up and then disappeared into the cold. Even though they had played their best, Donghyuck was still able to get the snitch before her team. She wasn’t surprised, nor that upset at this point. Donghyuck was one of the best seekers at Hogwarts, his skills were only rivaled by Mark Lee from Gryffindor house.
“Why the long face?” Chenle asked as he sat down with Sumi in the courtyard.
Sumi shrugged. “Just thinking,”
“It’s never a good thing when you do that,” Chenle joked and Sumi shoved him gently. He laughed and leaned back on his hands. “You know, even though Jisung didn’t get the snitch, Hufflepuff only lost by thirty points.”
Sumi nodded but that wasn’t why she was thinking so much. The two of them sat in silence for a bit, the cold hair swirling around their heads. Sumi continued to let out little puffs of air to watch it fog up in front of her. As she was about to do it again, when a familiar brunette appeared across the courtyard.
Donghyuck smiled gently at his friend as they made their way back into the building. Sumi jumped to her feet and Chenle gave her a startled look. Before he could ask her what was wrong, Sumi grabbed her bag and started to hurry off towards Donghyuck.
“Sumi, where are you going?” Chenle called.
“I’m cold! I’ll see you later!” she replied without looking back.
When Sumi got back inside she found Donghyuck walking towards the library with his friend. She quickly rushed over and gently grabbed his robes to stop him. He paused and turned around with a confused expression. Donghyuck’s Ravenclaw friend, Huang Renjun, gave the two of them a look before smirking.
“I’ll leave you two to talk for a moment,” he said before rushing away to the library. Donghyuck turned around to try and get Renjun to stay but his friend was already long gone.
“Um,” Sumi hesitated and Donghyuck turned his gaze back to her. “You won,”
“What?” Donghyuck asked in confusion.
“The match,” Sumi repeated, “You won, so I- ,” Sumi looked away, she regretted even bringing it up to Donghyuck. It was obvious he wasn’t actually being serious when he mentioned it on the pitch, he was just teasing her.
“I owe you a date,” Sumi finally managed to get out.
Donghyuck stared at her for a moment before his eyes widened, “Wait seriously?” Donghyuck grabbed her hand and forced Sumi to look at him. The look in his eyes desperately begged Sumi to tell him that she wasn’t joking. There was so much genuinity in his eyes that Sumi for a moment believed that maybe Donghyuck could have feelings for her.
Sumi nodded.
Donghyuck’s face broke into a bright smile and he let out a small laugh. “Well, then I’ll make sure to bring you on a great one!” he said.
Sumi nodded as Donghyuck said his goodbyes and rushed off to tell Renjun the news. He stopped halfway to Renjun and turned around to wave at Sumi before rushing off again.
––
That night, Sumi was jolted from her sleep when she felt someone shake her awake. She had fallen asleep in the Hufflepuff Common Room while studying for potions. Her books were scattered across the table and a paper stuck to her face when she lifted her head up.
“Hello,”
Sumi immediately recognized the voice and opened her eyes a little wider as Donghyuck pulled her worksheet off her face. She lifted a hand to her cheek where it was before and felt her face go hot at the realization that Donghyuck had just caught her in an embarrassing situation.
Then it hit Sumi…
“How did you get in here?” she exclaimed,
Donghyuck smiled widely, “It took a few tries, trust me. The boys and I have gotten our fair share of vinegar showers.” He remembered vividly the first three years at Hogwarts.
The 00’Liners had learned where the Hufflepuff dorms were in their first year but despite their efforts, they never learned which barrel to tap or the rhythm of the tapping to be able to enter. It was by miracle in their fourth year that Jaemin was able to figure out the passcode inside. Only some time later did Renjun realize that Jaemin had somehow used a morse code rhythm to spell ‘Helga Hufflepuff’.
“What are you doing here?” Sumi asked as she started to clean her things. “If you don’t leave, I’ll have to report you,”
“You won’t do that,” Donghyuck smiled.
“You don’t know that-” Sumi’s words died on her lips when she realized that Donghyuck had started to lean in and trap her between himself and the table. “What are you doing?”
Donghyuck smiled and leaned back, “Our date, let’s go,” he stood up and held a hand out for Sumi to take.
Sumi gave him an incredulous look and shook her head, “It’s midnight, Donghyuck, we can’t go anywhere past curfew–”
“Come on,” Donghyuck chuckled, “Just this once,”
Sumi stared at Donghyuck’s hand before looking up at his face. His eyes were pleading as he waited for her to take his hand. She lifted her hand and it hovered over his hesitating for a moment before she ultimately decided to ignore her fears of getting caught and taking his hand.
Donghyuck pulled her to her feet and the two of them hurried out of the Hufflepuff Common Room. Sneaking through the corridors, Donghyuck took an elaborate path to their date rendezvous. Sumi was keenly aware of how his hand engulfed hers as he led her around the school. Sumi started to recognize the corridors around her as Donghyuck started to lead her up a staircase.
“This is-”
“The Astronomy Tower,” Donghyuck finished her words.
Donghyuck stopped Sumi just before the top of the Astronomy Tower. She gave him a confused expression but Donghyuck ignored it and moved so that he stood behind her. His hand slipped out of hers leaving it cold in the chilly November air.
He placed his hands over her eyes and Sumi quickly reached up to grab his in turn. Donghyuck let out a chuckle and leaned down to speak into her ear.
“Do you trust me?” he asked, his breath tickling her ear.
“No,” Sumi’s voice shook as she answered him.
Donghyuck laughed but started to lead Sumi onto the roof of the Astronomy Tower. Sumi felt the cold air hit her skin and she shivered a bit. Donghyuck stopped somewhere on the tower and Sumi gripped onto his hands tightly.
“Ready?” he asked before removing his hands and revealing a beautiful set up of blankets and candles. There were candles lighting the way towards the center of the tower where Donghyuck had set up some blankets and what looked like a basket of snacks. The sky was lit up with stars and the moon shone brightly in a crescent, smiling down upon the two of them.
“Donghyuck,” Sumi’s voice sounded breathless to herself. “This is beautiful,” she turned and smiled at him.
Donghyuck felt his face go hot and he coughed gently before pointing to the blanket. “I remember you mentioned that you really liked stars during Transfiguration. There’s supposed to be a meteor shower tonight, I heard that we might be able to see it from the castle,”
Sumi walked to the edge of the Astronomy tower and stared out at the forest. Leaning out over the edge a little, Sumi closed her eyes and let the wind brush her hair out of her face. A smile pushed onto her face and she let out a light giggle. There was a giddily feeling in her chest, something about sneaking out and being in her happy place made Sumi feel some kind of euphoria that she wasn’t used to.
She spun around and smiled at Donghyuck. Her smile had his heart fluttering and Donghyuck could hear his heart pounding in his ears. He was sure that his face was bright red but if it was, Sumi made no move to tease him about it.
He walked over to her and leaned against the edge as well. The wind pushed his hair back and forth and as he went to push his hair out of his eyes, Sumi’s hand reached over and moved it for him. His eyes widened when he felt her delicate fingers graze against his forehead.
“I think I like you,” Sumi whispered.
“What?” Donghyuck leaned back in surprise.
“I-” It sunk in what Sumi had said, “Oh my god! Wait-”
“What did you just say?” Donghyuck panicked as well.
“Nothing! I didn’t say anything!” Sumi started to walk away from Donghyuck but was quickly spun back around. She crashed into his chest and felt Donghyuck’s arm holding her tightly to him. Sumi gripped onto his shirt and could feel Donghyuck’s heart going crazy underneath her hand.
“I like you too,” his voice was barely over a whisper.
A jolt went through Sumi’s body and she froze before pushing off of Donghyuck. He stared down at her and Sumi could still feel his heart beating a mile a minute. Looking into his eyes though, Sumi could tell that this confession was different than all the other times. The usually joking smile from his past confessions had been completely replaced by a desperation and genuinity that reminded Sumi why she even agreed to go on a date with him in the first place.
Carefully, Sumi stood a bit taller on her toes, tilting her head until her lips gently met his. She felt him freeze under her touch for just a moment. Then as she started to lean away, Sumi felt Donghyuck’s lips kiss her back. Before Sumi could do anything, Donghyuck moved back, his eyes big and puppy-like.
“I really like you, Sumi,” Donghyuck said again, “Will you please be my girlfriend?”
Sumi’s mouth opened and closed, fighting to find the right words to say to him. It was obvious to her by the way her heart clenched tightly at his words. She was certain of it now. She had completely fallen for Lee Donghyuck.

𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐀𝐫𝐞 𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐍𝐨𝐰 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐄𝐝𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧:
Summary: [a HP au] Park Jay is from a prestigious pureblood family. He is intimidating, everyone but his friends are afraid of him. Han YN, the muggleborn Slytherin. YN bumps into him one day and from there their fates seemed intertwined.
Taglist: @staysstrays @lightningdaze @tomorrowbymoa-together @c9tnoos @le-chenle @itsjynop @qghosty @mymeloem19

Writing this now, I realise this au had too many characters 😂. I'm pretty sure I forgot about half of them and this is only covering the main lot 😂. This turned out much longer than I expected so enjoy.
★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★★
We left off with everyone graduating. Well the 7th years atleast.
Yejigyu are engaged, they decide to hire a wedding planner. Who after meeting them and hearing the plans they have/want to do for their wedding quits.
In an attempt to save their wedding, Yejigyu try to get the whole bff's to help plan the wedding.... Yeah it was a complete disaster.
In a surprise turn of events, it's actually Jake who ends up being the saviour, he takes over planning and actually does it well.
So well that he's now starting a wedding planning business.
Moving on from yejigyu to Ynjay. They move in together and it's interesting 😂.
Despite being such an extrovert, Jay never realised how much YN talks. In the sense there's never silence and it works for them cause Jay's always listening.
He's listening to her rambles when she's half asleep, when she's telling him about her day and when she's just telling him some random childhood story she remembered.
Jay's family isnt really mentioned in the smau cause they aren't important but it's safe to say YN has met the important family members and ofcourse they love her.
One argument they do have is of YN doing too much for her friends. When the friends were helping to plan, it was very much YN trying to sort things out for both bride and groom.
Which lead to her being burnt out cause she was doing so much and Jay didn't like that his gf was literally exhausting herself for her best friends wedding.
So he went and talked to yejigyu who were horrified that YN was even doing so much, agreed with Jay and that's when Jake somehow became the wedding planner.
YN however wasnt so happy about this, in her head it was like Jay went behind her back and that argument wouldve lead to silent treatment but she can't even be mad at Jay for a second so it ended quickly.
Yejigyu however did have a massive argument that went on for atleast a week.
Over whether YN would be a bridesmaid or a groomsmaid(?). Both wanted her on their side and neither was willing to back down.
This lead to Heeseung and Ryujin forcing them to sign joint custody papers of YN. While Ynjay are just looking at this with fond exasperation.
In the end Yeji wins and YN is her bridesmaid but Beomgyu still insists she be there for his bachelor party and wear a corsage matching to the boys suits, to show she's on his side too.
The babies, are in their 7th year and obviously still running to YN and now Jay too for advise on everything.
Sunoo to everyone's shock is head boy with Giselle as Head Girl. YN is fully supportive of them both and they appreciate her support and love.
Despite not being at Hogwarts, the babies insist that YN come visit so on the odd Hogmeade weekend she goes to see them.
Without fail the babies receive care packages from her every month and extra on their birthday. Everyone else in Hogwarts is very jealous.
After the chaotic mess that yejigyus wedding, Jay starts to go ask everyone important in YN's life for permission to marry her.
Beomgyus parents kinda lose it with tears and hugs but they're also super happy and proud of YN.
Jay assumed it would be the guys and the babies that were the most territorial of YN. Nope instead it's the girls.
Yeji outright threatens him, Ningning tells him she will murder him if he doesn't keep making YN happy and Ryujin silently conveys how much pain he'll be in for hurting yn once....
The babies are really just touched that Jay came to them to ask permission too.
YN after the wedding is doing the same thing, Jays friends find it hilarious and use the situation to they're advantage...
Sunghoon demands baked goods every month for the rest of the year and YN laughs telling him she would've done it if he just asked her.
Which leads to YN finding out about Jay threatening his friends about asking her to bake/cook things for them.
They've both gone and gotten rings to propose bug haven't gotten to it yet. Everyone frustrated decides to get them on a date and then celebrate whoever proposes first.
Considering how YN is, everyone assumed she'll propose first, there's a bet going on, with quite a lot of money on YN proposing first.
That obviously doesn't happen, Jay proposes first and then YN reveals she did exactly what he did.
All their friends come out of their guiding spots, either crying abt losing money or so overjoyed that they hug Jay and won't let him go.
Unlike the huge wedding Yejigyu had, Ynjay opt for a smaller wedding with Jake planning ofcourse.
It's at the reception that YN is approached about teaching at Hogwarts, she doesn't commit to anything at that moment but says she would be happy to come back.
And that's how she ends up back at Hogwarts as a teacher in You Belong With Me.

21 kisses masterlist l Full masterlist
Many months had passed since you last spoke to Chenle. Heck, if it hadn’t been for the fact that you were seated next to him in muggle studies (because the seats were fixed and you had decided on the first day of classes that you wanted to sit together), you wouldn’t even have been near him.
You’re a Gryffindor, Chenle is a Slytherin. Your mother is an auror and your father works for the Minister for Magic, while both Chenles parents were known death eaters. Or, well, they weren’t known when you started dating him, and if they had been back then you wouldn’t have gotten yourself involved with him.
Your parents had met Chenle several times, and they were always supportive of your relationship. But you wished you could say that they had been equally as supportive after it was discovered that his parents were death eaters. Your mother had sent you a letter the day they found out, and when you didn’t respond, your father traveled all the way to Hogwarts to talk to you in person and ban you from ever speaking to Chenle again, by threatening to take you out of hogwarts if you didn’t follow his orders. They had even made sure your friends and most of your teachers knew you weren’t supposed to meet him, so they would drag you away from him if you even as much as tried to talk to him.
But that didn’t mean that you weren’t looking at him. Or talking about him. Or thinking about him. That didn’t mean that you didn’t know exactly where he was at 99% of the time or that you didn’t know what was happening in his life. And it most certainly didn’t mean that you didn’t love him. Because you did. You couldn’t just shut off your feelings, no matter what your parents wanted.
Many parents had sent in threatening letters to the headmaster, telling him to expel Chenle because his behavior could inspire other students to learn about dark magic. But the headmaster always responded by saying that there would be no punishment for anyone based on what their parents had done, because children don’t necessarily take after their parents. And you were so thankful for that - because he was completely right. Chenle was not at all like that. He had been distancing himself from his parents as much as he could since the moment he found out about them over seven years ago; he’d even left them to live with his grandmother instead. You just wished your parents understood that.
You often found yourself looking down the hallway in the dungeon when you had finished potions class, hoping to see Chenle strutting to or from his common room with his friends. Or thinking of him when his favorite dish was sitting right in front of you at dinner, making you throw a glance over at his usual spot by the slytherin table to make sure he was digging into it as usual.
Except, one day, he wasn’t at dinner. You didn’t stop looking when you couln’t see him in his usual seat; you searched the entire slytherin table from your place across the room with your eyes, in case he’d decided to get a new seat; and then you searched the rest of the great hall in case he was talking to a teacher or someone from another house. But there was no Chenle. You thought it was very strange, as he never missed a meal - so you excused yourself from your seat and instead walked over to the slytherin table. By the end of it sat the people who you recognized as Chenle’s best friends, Renjun and Jisung, two full blood slytherins whose parents were speculated to be working with Chenle’s. They didn’t look too happy to see you.
“What are you doing here?” Jisung sneered at you once you came close enough to hear.
“I’m just wondering if you know where Chenle is,” you said, voice much calmer than the one that spoke before you.
“Why do you care,” Renjun spat right after swallowing down a piece of chicken. “You’ve made it pretty clear you don’t want anything to do with him anymore.”
“Oh, and you are mad about that?” Even though you had tried to remain calm, you could feel the anger boiling inside of you.
“Yes, Chenle is-“
He had barely just started talking when you cut him off. “You think you’re mad? There are people who are suffering way more from this than you, you idiot. Try to get that thought through your small brain. Maybe the person who’s been ignored, or maybe the person who’s going to be kicked out of hogwarts if she is seen speaking to Chenle.” You hadn’t been able to hold back - but it felt good. When you were done with your mini-rant, you straightened your posture again and looked at the boys with calmer eyes. They seemed surprised, and possibly a bit scared, and Jisung had dropped his fork from his mouth to his plate with a loud thud when you started. “So, I would really appreciate it if you could tell me where Chenle is at.”
Even though they were frightened of what Chenle had threatened them with doing if they spoke about his whereabouts, they told you about how Chenle had said that he wasn’t feeling like having lunch and was probably sitting in the library to study for his exam the next day. Forgetting all about your friends back at your table (and the risk of them seeing you by the slytherin table and connecting the dots), you hurried out of the great hall and made your way down the hallway towards the library.
Your mind was blank, you didn’t know at all what to say to Chenle if you even found him. Yet there was something telling you to go; something inside of you forcing you find him. He had his favorite spot in the library, by one of the windows deep inside, so when you finally made it into the library, you knew exactly where to look. And sure enough, staring into his history of magic book, he sat by the same table as he always did. He hadn’t heard you as your last few steps had been soft, so you faked a quiet cough to get his attention.
“What are you doing here?”
You sighed at the tone in his voice - you had been a bit surprised before you reminded yourself that you shouldn’t have expected anything. Instead of answering his question, you asked him one. “Why weren’t you at dinner?”
He put his book down and stood up, frowning at you. “Did you seriously come here just to ask me why I didn’t have dinner?”
You shrugged and looked down at your feet, suddenly feeling shy. “Yeah,” you mumbled.
“Okay, so,” he started, pacing slowly towards you. “you don’t speak to me for weeks, maybe even months, and then you come all the way to the library to ask why I didn’t have dinner?” You looked up from the ground to see him staring right into your eyes. “Not really that believeable.”
You didn’t know what to say. The day you had been banned from speaking to him, you had walked straight up to him to tell him that you wanted to break up with him. That’s it. No explanation, not giving him any chance to talk to you. And you hated it, but you weren’t sure how to make it better.
“Shit, Chenle, I’m sorry. I really am,” you sighed, holding back the tears that were threatening to fall from your eyes at any moment now from seeing how angry he was. He had never before looked at you with such flames in his eyes as he was right now. “I... I don’t know what to do to make you understand-“
He cut you off, his tone piercingly sharp. “Just tell me. Tell me the truth.” You blinked a couple of times, hoping that it would help push the water in your eyes back. “Is it because of my parents that you act like I suddenly don’t exist?”
“Yes but-“
And again, he didn’t let you speak. “I though you knew me. I thought you saw me for who I am, not for who my parents are.”
You couldn’t hold back. You stepped towards him, cupping his face in your hands and scanned his eyes for any sign of doubt (except for his continuedly frowned eyebrows). It was like a magnetic force pulled you to him, that pulled your mouth to his. You could instantly feel how much you’d missed this feeling, even though it was barely just a brush.
Chenle pulled away almost the exact moment you’d launched forward, and though his expression was hard to read, it told you that he wasn’t angry at you. He let out a shaky breath, as he dropped his head to let his forehead rest on your shoulder. “We can’t do this...” he mumbled, his arms snaking around your lower back to hold you close.
You held him around his shoulders, leaning your head on top of yours. “I’m so sorry, Chenle. I’m going to find a way to fix this,” you mumbled. “My parents... they made sure I didn’t talk to you. I’ll do something to make this right.”
“But before that, can you just hold me?”
You might have ignored him for such a long time, but that didn’t mean that you had stopped loving him. Nor that you weren’t ready to fight for your relationship.

✨️THE DREAMIES IN HOGWARTS✨️
CONTENTS: SORTING THE MEMBERS, THEIR FAVOURITE SUBJECTS, EXTRA-CURRICULAR ACRIVITIES, FAVOURITE HANG-OUTS, PATRONUS, ETC.
MARK ♡ GRYFFINDOR
Mark values chivalry, determination and will do anything for what he thinks is right which is why he was sorted into Gryffindor.
Mark is a pureblood but his family embraces the muggle world too so while he has the revered status of a pureblood, he isn't snobby.
Of course, he's the captain of the Gryffindor quidditch team (he's a chaser btw) while also being the head boy after two years of being a prefect. Even in this world, he is booked and busy!
Mark gets straight O's but his favourite subject is Transfiguration. He's a seventh year so he's very busy but if not studying or attending to his responsibilities as captain and head boy, Mark often hangs out at the common room.
Fun facts: Mark has an owl whose name is Subak. He sometimes tutors 1st and 2nd years on the weekends. He's missed multiple trips to Hogsmeade on purpose to study more. Mark has been to the room of requirements once when he was extremely sleep-delrived and it provided him a very relaxing room in which he spent a whole 13 hours sleeping. He doesn't remember where he found it. His patronus is, fittingly, a lion.
RENJUN ♡ RAVENCLAW
Renjun was sorted into Ravenclaw because he values intellect and has logical approach to things. He has a thirst for knowledge and learning.
Renjun is a half-blood and therefore has attachments to the muggle world. Not to worry! By his second year, he figured out a way to spell his phone to fully function in hogwarts.
Renjun took over as the head of S.P.E.W in his second year which had only 4 members at the time. He has managed to amass 30 more members during his leadership.
Besides his academic thirst, Renjun has a number of creative pursuits; one of them being painting. His favourite subject is Astronomy and despite it's doubtful reputation, he quite enjoys Divination. He's exceptional at Herbology. He studies often in the Great Hall with other sixth years as he likes to hear the hustle and bustle of other students while doing his work
Fun facts: The only rule Renjun consistently breaks is one regarding the Astronomy Tower which is out of bounds to students besides during class. He hangs out a lot there for peace and quiet whenever everyone got a bit too much. His patronus is a fox.
JENO ♡ HUFFLEPUFF
Jeno was told by the Sorting Hat that he was 50/50 for Gryffindor and Hufflepuff but ultimately was sorted in Hufflepuff due to what he truly cares about. He is loyal and patient and values dedication and hard work. A Hufflepuff through and through.
He is a pureblood and his family has a long history of Gryffindors and Hufflepuffs, the former being his mum's side of the family.
Jeno is an exemplary student however, he was suprisingly not asked to be a prefect. Still, the rumours persist and insist that he's well on his way to becoming head boy. His responsibilities are preoccupied with being the Hufflepuff quidditch team's keeper (joining the team his 1st year!) as well as being the captain, a position he's held since his fourth year.
The subject Jeno excels at and is also his favourite is Care of Magical Creatures followed by Charms. Jeno is a quidditch boy at heart and so he is often found practicing in the quidditch pitch with or without the rest of his team.
Fun facts: The pet Jeno brought is a cat, Bongshik, who is actually a family pet. Though not a prefect, a lot of prefect duties fall upon him due to a certain best friend who rarely takes his duties seriously. Jeno can apparate but he doesn't like doing it as he never quite got rid of the quesy feeling he gets when he does it. Jeno's patronus is a Kneazle which is funnily a cat-like magical creature.
HAECHAN ♡ SLYTHERIN
Haechan was extremely determined to be a Slytherin and of course, he got his wish. His cunning, ambitious and extremely clever nature also helped get him into the house. Haechan is extremely competitive, willing to go to extreme lengths just to win. Sure, he uses tricks but he would never outright cheat because when he shows off, he wants it to be earned.
He comes from a long line of pure-bloods who were all Slytherin. Growing up, he had heard from his parents time in Hogwarts and always hoped that he could also have a fulfilling and nourishing time at the school.
Haechan, though is a bit of a rule breaker, is a prefect. He only became one on his 6th year as the initial candidate refused (something about focusing on his NEWTs). Despite his mischevious reputation, Haechan is usually one of the top in his classes, not getting a single grade below O in his OWLs last year. Along with his studies, Haechan is an excellent athlete, joining his quidditch house team in his 3rd year as one of the beaters.
Haechan is a an ace at Potions and despises Ancient Runes. He's skipped out on that class more times than he can count, preferring for Renjun to share his notes on them. Haechan can often be found hanging around in the courtyards, playing with Zonko's products and testing out some weird potions he's concocted.
Fun Fact: His reputation as a prankster reached legendary status on the End-Of-Year feast his second year before everyone went home for the summer when he spelled all the candles suspended above in the Great Hall to turn into green slime, drenching everyone then coming together to form a giant snake that slithered everywhere. This and many more pranks are partly why he wasn't the first candidate to be prefect. His patronus is a brown bear.
JAEMIN ♡ HUFFLEPUFF
The Sorting Hat almost put him in Ravenclaw but saw his uncompetitive and wild spirit and put this dude in Hufflepuff. He wants to do HIS best but doesn't care about being THE best or outdoing anyone. He values his friendships and is loyal to a fault. He's impartial and likes to focus on the happy parts of life.
He is a muggleborn but suprisingly (or unsuprisingly really) he took the being-a-wizard thing really well. When his letter arrived, he just kind of sat in silence for a good hour thinking about all the weird stuff that's happened to him beforehand and went "Oh, guess that's why".
Despite being new to it all, Jaemin quickly adjusted and is one of the most remarkable students in Hogwarts. A genius, if you will. He was made prefect in his 5th year because of this however, it is a position he does not take seriously at all. He never reprimands anyone at all as long as it's harmless. Jeno actually does a better job at playing prefect than him. He is also in the quidditch house team as a seeker.
He is known as a prodigy at Defence Against the Dark Arts, even beating out Ravenclaws as the top of his year. He's also extremely good at all his other classes. This is all very frustrating to everyone as no one has ever seen Jaemin study. He's usually seen lounging in the common room or hanging around wherever Jeno is so mostly he's at the quidditch pitch helping Jeno practice.
Fun Facts: Jaemin's pet is a Bowtruckle which he takes with him everywhere. Her name is Pal which has double meaning: the first as in 'friend' and second, the number eight which is the age he met the little Bowtruckle. His sweet tooth is very known. He has never missed a chance to visit Honeydukes on their trips to Hogsmeade to refill his stash of sweets. Jaemin's patronus is a bunny.
CHENLE ♡ GRYFFINDOR
Before the Sorting Hat could fully sit on Chenle's head, it shouted out "Gryffindor!". This boy is the perfect example of one. He's not scared of anything and he cannot be swayed. He may be playful but he would never back down when it comes to challenge. He is not influenced by structures and marches to the beat of his own drum.
His family is one of the oldest and richest families within the wizarding world. Despite the old traditions that you expect encases his family's beliefs and practices, he's one of the most accepting and truly embracing people.
Chenle used to not be much of an "after-school-club" kind of person but Renjun convinced him to not only join S.P.E.W. but also choir. Now he performs every Halloween and Opening Ceremonies at Hogwarts or any other event they get asked to sing at. He's not afraid to say he quite enjoys it.
He's great at Transfiguration and enjoys it a lot. He loves Defense Against the Dark Arts too. He hangs out mostly in the common room or library, annoying or helping Jisung out when he's studying, depending on his mood.
Fun Facts: He's a pretty brave dude, what with being in Gryffindor but he only had the courage to tell Haechan he absolutely despised Potions now, already in his 5th year. His patronus is a dolphin.
JISUNG ♡ GRYFFINDOR
Jisung was a close call to Hufflepuff but ultimately ended up in Gryffindor because that was what his heart and mind was set with. Although he is sometimes hesitant and kind of a scaredy-cat, he is brave and chivalrous. Remember! The presence of his fears is exactly why he's brave.
Jisung is a half-blood. His mother is the one part of the wizarding world. He never knew he was also a wizard and a lot of his strange magical behaviour was always excused away. It was only when his letter arrived that his mum explained everything.
He fell in love with quidditch as soon as he learned about it and immediately studied up on it. He practiced the months prior to going to Hogwarts his first-year and his mum taught him, having played in her house team when she was in school. He was welcomed in the team in his second year and is a seeker.
His only focus is quidditch but he does decently in his classes and above averagely in Charms. He does marvelously in Divination; enough for him to have a reputation for it. When he's not practicing quidditch, he tries to study, knowing he's about to start OWLS next year but he gets very easily distracted by Chenle. The armchair closest to the fireplace in the Gryffindor common room is his favourite spot in the whole school.
Fun Facts: Jisung collects quidditch books. He has a growing bookcase at home and is very sad he can't take it all with him at school. He has an owl he calls Goldie becomes of its shiny and yellowish feathers. It reminds him of the golden snitch. His patronus is a mouse.

[ nct dream as hogwarts students ]
warning(s): guys these only make sense if u’ve read the series or watched the movies 😭
MARK !
gryfinddor!mark lee is literally the harry potter of kpop idc 😟. would always get in trouble because of a certain slytherin. he would 100% leave his moonstone essay until last minute and stay up writing it in the common room. he would accidentally find the room of requirements while trying to find the bathroom. mark is the star player of the quidditch team, but would never be the captain of the team. only takes divination for an easy O.
RENJUN !
ravenclaw!renjun is definitely headboy. probably the smartest of his year. he’s often found alone in the ravenclaw common room or taking a stroll on the grounds, away from bigger crowds. is surprisingly bad at wizard chess, but renjun claims he ‘doesn’t have enough time’ to practice chess. his favorite class is astronomy, sometimes he sneaks there away at night to draw or just watch the stars. literally hates pe class, and is the only class he’s bad at. aiming for prefect & has a cat.
JENO !
gryfinddor!jeno is also headboy but for gryfinddor. everyone likes him because of how chill he is as headboy. for some reason i feel like he’s the first one in the dining hall for no reason. captain of the quidditch team, and is always determined to win house cup. likes renjun’s cat, but is obviously allergic. jeno also copies off of mark sometimes, but because mark sometimes leaves his assignments until last minute, they both end up with bad scores. doesn’t like the potions master, but likes double potions with the hufflepuffs.
HAECHAN !
slytherin!haechan is a trouble maker. you either hate him, or love him. he doesn’t really hang out with other slytherins and he’s found himself an outcast amongst his own house. he finds pleasure in teasing or annoying mark and renjun for fun, but has grown close with them. likes to pass/throw random notes at people in class like, ‘your hair looks funny today’ or ‘what came first, the chicken or egg?’ etc. he loves to make people laugh whilst doing stupid stuff. sucks at arithmancy. haechan answers with wrong answers in class for a laugh or two, but always knows the correct answer. def gets mark in trouble.
JAEMIN !
hufflepuff!jaemin is literally the best person ever. he’s the type of classmate to take notes for you if you’re gone a day. although he’d never say it out loud, he hates care of magical creatures. gasp, i know right. always has his hogsmede permission slip. jaemin’s found hanging out with jeno or fawning over jisung. is the person that’s always watering the plants in the common room. a highkey flirt. practices occlumency for fun. nearly failed charms during his 2nd year because he couldn’t do accio.
CHENLE !
gryfinddor!chenle is definitely your mischief that is not managed. fred & george vibes. partner in crimes with jisung. he buys everything off the trolley. sleeps through all of his classes and yet manages to get full marks. for some reason he knows all the secret passage way. peeves annoying him? no, him annoying peeves. he uses the prefect bathroom, even though we both know he’s not a prefect. he’s an mc for the quidditch matches and is lowkey biased about who’s the best team. once transfigured a cockroach into a deck of uno cards.
JISUNG !
gryfinddor!jisung gets lost with all the 142 staircases that are constantly changing. once made a love potion in class with no intention to use it. he’s probably lost his hogsmede permission slip. tried out for the quidditch team, but they didn’t get back to him. he likes to go up to the owlery and observe the owls, but when they aggressively flap their wings, jisung immediately leaves. avoids the girls bathroom on the second floor, because he heard it was haunted. nearly broke his wand while trying to spit out a ‘bertie botts every flavored bean’. everyone’s favorite.
a/n: i hope this made sense 💀

NCT HC - Na Jaemin
Jaemin's parents were an elderly pureblood couple that really didn't think they'd be able to have a child. The poor duo were on the brink of thinking to adopt a child, magical or not (they were weren't picky at this point) when his mother became pregnant with Nana
When his parents were younger, they both wanted to focus more on their careers since they wanted to make sure that their future child would be able to have a happy life and that they would be able to have enough money and social standing to be able to give their child anything and everything they wanted.
Mr. Na works for the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures and Mrs. Na works for the Department of Mysteries but are both now mostly working part-time due to age and to make sure they have time for their beloved blessing.
Beloved blessing = Na Jaemin btw (in case ya'll didn't pick up on that)
For their excitement to make sure Jaemin would have the best childhood and upbringing, these two did their research. As in research. They've asked families, friends, read books, took classes. EVERYTHING™.
Only thing is... Mr. Na was a muggleborn orphan, and so after starting school at Hogwarts, started to distance himself from the people he used to know (not like he can tell them anything anyways), and Mrs Na came from a very long line of purebloods that didn't really associate themselves with muggles.
Translation? Na Jaemin has no idea about anything and everything muggle related.
Like obviously, he knows what it means and he has been to muggle London. But not for very long and the closest contact he's had to someone that lives in Muggle London is Jisung (on the few occasions that Chenle manages to kidnap get permission, from both his and Jisung's parents, to hang out with Jisung for a weekend)

“I can’t sleep.”
“You’re having those nightma—”
“Yes. Except…it’s you.”
Chapter 21
[5th of November]
It was stupid. What she thought was a pull could’ve been anything, for example it could’ve been her wanting to sleep, the sloping of the hill she was on as she sat next to him, a human desire to huddle to warmth when cold; that’s part of human nature nothing she could change about that even if she wanted to.
But the urge was there, and it was strong, the desire to change that need for warmth, and why was it specifically his warmth she needed anyways? She blamed it on the cold, making her feel vulnerable on the other hand was difficult to justify.
For the past few days it had been extremely calm, the only bother she got was a quick questioning from Jinsoul for running out so oddly and at a peculiar hour, she tried to find out what was going on with Selene but it barely lasted for a few hours. The thing was they all may have decided to stay quiet about it. That didn’t mean they stopped whispering and muttering quietly when Selene was distracted.
And she could just about make out the murmurs behind her over the poised voice of the head professor, they were muttering about something to do with the dance line-up. Selene kept cutting in and out of the ongoing lecture every once or so.
“This is why today we will be going over the basics of posture with some elegant and beautiful melodies to help. Shall we start?”
The head clapped her hands together, “Gives us a bit of cheer during these gloomy times?” she mumbled as she stepped to prepare the audio.
Selene looked up towards the other side seeing Albus’ older brother, James, and his pack. They had began to heal and were dismissed to go back to class within a few days of being hospitalised. She noted the irk in his features towards her, Ravelle must have said something to him, that or his prick of a sister.
The ginger glanced from the side to see that both girls and a few other friends were dying to get off their seats and dance, “Alright, everyone up.”
“We’ll start in our own groups then we can do a mixed waltz in pairs properly. Get yourself accustomed to the feeling of a glossy wide plain.”
Most of the girls were up and moving about, some of the guys were having trouble ‘getting in touch with the space’ as the head put it.
Selene sighed, she was at the far end. If she stayed quiet she wouldn’t have to be picked to do anything. she glanced towards the centre of the hall, hoping the class would end so she could run off to the library and find a book or two.
Something to help her with that dreaded potions project, not to mention the long assignment she needs to have written over the history of hogsmeade’s political position during the witchtrials centuries ago. that would would be so fun. she sighed.
“Selene, up you get, I’ll dance with you for the first round.”
“I really don’t think that would be necess-” “Oh come on, don’t be such a bore.” Selene felt a tug pull her up forcefully onto her feet.
“It’ll be fun,” jinsoul cheered pulling her, selene trudging towards the group spaced out.
I don’t think it will.
“Only this round at least, then I would have to dance with my sweetheart-”
Oh for merlin’s sake, she was about to start about that git she loves again “Fine Fine, just hush and get into place.” She stepped away a few steps, facing the cheerful blonde,
“Thank you.” Jinsoul flashed her a wide grin, her eyes turning into beautiful crescent. Fuck, he does not deserve her at all.
“Alright now come together, the female hands above and shoulders back,”
“Isn’t this exciting, our first ball.” Jinsoul immediately went to placing her hands above, she smiled, beaming. “Yeah very,” Selene muttered, she placed her arms just above jinny’s waist skipping time to finish this. “Lift your elbow,”
“Like this?” she winked
“And now the male hands above the curvature of the hip and cradling the right hand, like so.” The head demonstrated,
“Yeah, like that.” Selene nodded glancing off,
“Have you been to a ball before, you seem like you know this pretty well?”
“You do remember my mother is of noble status,” well, was.“I was given lessons as a child, unnecessary lessons if you ask me.” Mumbling the last part she looked down to move her feet into place.
“Ah yes, sorry. Slipped my mind.”
“Now try practicing a slight sway to the melody, this is only if you have the correct posture and you’re ready.” She set the needle down onto an old spinning record its screeching disturbing everyone for a moment, the mumbling stopped.
“One, two three, one, two three. Very good, Remember to lift them arms up, keep them straight.”
“So?”
“Hmm?” drawing out the noise surrounding them, Selene focused on the blonde as they slowly began to fall in a comfortable swing.
“I see that you don’t want to tell me who you met that night.”
the huff that left selenes lips, puffed her hair up “Not this again. Jinny I told you, I needed fresh air, I didn’t mee-”
“Rosier,”
“What?” selene wondered if the blond could feel her hands clam up with the name being mentioned. Did she see them?
“Jisung Rosier.”
“What about him?”
“As soon as you left, after I waited for a short moment, he came in through the courtyard, with two other Slytherin boys.” She stared straight, unwavering, her grip tightened subconsciously on my shoulder. “Did you meet with them?”
“No.” a lie
“Selene, I’m worried, you’re somehow constantly surrounded with Slytherins most of the time. Its not good.”
“I don’t know many Slytherins, I didn’t meet with anyone that night like I said.” Another lie.
“Jinsoul, I’m fine, you don’t need to worry about me,” “Easier said than done,” she snapped. Sighing she moved closer, “You know what’s been going around about them.”
“Our parents were greatly affected by the great war. Everyone has a feeling they will come back for revenge, it, it’s just in the air, you know?” the worry in her orbs was evident.
“Pfft, who’s going to rise again?” Selene snorted, “Don’t tell me you believe Eugene Finnigan’s crap about the pure blood supremacists coming back and the death eaters returning?”
“It’s only a matter of time and” Jinsoul glances to the side as selene began to mock the words shes heard so many times before, guiding them both a little farther away she hushed.
“Shhh keep your voice down! Someone is going to hear you.” Hissing at Selene aggravated the ginger slightly.
“That wouldn’t matter, because now all of you ever do is read that bollocks,” her eyes widen. “Yeah! it’s bollocks off the newspaper that skeeter puts in for sells and everyone seems to believe it.”
“It’s not bollocks because its true, if you had a braincell left in you you’d, ask around. Why not ask Rosier?” Selenes nails were digging into jinsoul’s side now.
“Again? I. didn’t. meet. With. Him.”
“Then what about Albus? Or that durmstrang boy, he’ll probably be with them,”
Selene huffed, “I tol-”
--“Ravelle heard something, it was quite interesting. I didn’t believe it at first but it makes a lot more sense now,” jinsoul cut her off dropping her hold on her tongue.
Selene eyed her face, the flash of provoking in her onyx irises, “It was about a certain sliver tongued Greengrass and you? Are you sure it’s only the potions work that’s happening? He was very touchy with you when you were in Hogsmeade.”
Selene slid her hands off harshly, jinsoul faltered slightly, Selene sensed the regret in her features but it was too late.
The ginger bit her tongue not wanting to lash out, “Selene, I.” she paused gathering herself, “I’m … sor-”
“Don’t,” lifting her hand up. “Don’t bother,” her tone was icy. She gripped the edges of her skirt tightly forming pale fists, “go dance with someone else, this--this is a waste of time.”
“Wait! But the yule ball-” the blonde, now filled with guilt called out after her. “Fuck the yule ball, I’m not going anyways.”
Sliding out of the hall quickly she ran out into the cool hallways, the sun was just about to set, it gave her enough time to make a quick trip to the library and then up to the common room for some late night studying.
Hopefully reading would get her mind off things.
[09:52PM]
[Selene Pov]
Finding the books was easy, reading the information and jotting it down was easy. It wasn’t as easy to focus on the task at hand. My thoughts kept going back towards the situation that happened before at the black lake.
“Are you going to be in here for long?” she tucked her hair softly behind her ears, so delicate and soft, Lyra was always like that.
“No, I’ll finish this chapter and I’ll be up soon.” Flipping past a few pages, “Go on ahead, I’ll catch you up there.”
“Okay, just be quick about it, because of the curfew.”
Ah yes the curfew, since that night, there has been a curfew set for all houses because of the worry of an attack against the students. The academy believes the ongoing rumours too.
Extremely unnecessary if you ask me.
“Jin di elixir. What even is that?” flickering past the few old pages towards the end I sighed again.
I had one last elixir to find but I couldn’t for the life of me, see it in any of the potions books, it wasn’t serving me any use that I hadn’t eaten properly during dinner either.
I was so close to giving up.
“Zou Yan; elixirs from the east.” The sound caught me off guard. A book was slid towards me from the side facing me. I lifted my gaze to see Scorpius.
“What?”
“Chenle asked me to give you this.” Taking his seat before me he glanced bare at my face. “He said he’d be heading back to the common room.”
“tthhhank … you?” drawling my words out I was more focused with what was in my grasp, the heavy book flipped open, I flickered through. Scorpius glanced away for a moment.
“But this is all in Chinese, I don’t understand a thing.”
“Merlin’s beard. Right!” A calm voice from the distance echoed.
As I turned to see who it is I was met with dark emerald robes peeking through. Shifting slightly Chenle crouched closer.
He looked like he was just about to leave. And he should.
“You know what, it’s fine. I’ll figure it out myself.” I slammed the cover shut. Shoving it farther away from him. He flinched visibly peering down at me as he straightened himself.
I stood to match his gaze. His cold icy stare sending electric shivers throughout my body. They -his eyes- looked sick. Scorpius was visibly confused. “It’s alright lene. He knows chine-” no, no its not.
“I said, I can handle it myself.” I shifted again, my fingers playing with the stray thread of the books sewn spine. “I don’t need your help Greengrass.” Firmly I cut through the tension. He stared back at me pausing for a bit.
Was he waiting for me to take my words back??
“Fine. Have it your way.” Chenle jaw clenched, turning he spat “filthy half-blood.” Viciously, mutedly he muttered the last words before leaving the vicinity. Scorpius called back after him but I could only hear ringing and my heartbeat pounding in its cage. My hands felt stiff as I slumped down onto my chair.
“Scorpius, don’t. please.”
I called out making him pause for a moment. He turned back as I heard his steps closer on the glazed wooden floors.
“What in the bloody hell was that? What happened?”
When I didnt answer he called my name again “Selene?”
“Nothing, just sit down please.”
“That clearly wasn’t nothing.” He waved his hands about. His fists were clenched tightly, but the confusion was spread on his brows and eyes.
“Scorpius.” The exasperated whisper pushed him towards his chair. Huffing. He stared straight at me silently demanding an explanation both hands set in front of us.
I pushed myself forward. “I better find that concoction and finish before I’m caught out of bed.” Lifting the book again and fixing the pages I felt his heavy gaze on me.
After a few moments it began to get heavier. “What?”
“I’m not dropping it Selene, is something going on between you two?”
“Well that’s going to be very disappointing for you because there’s literally nothing going on.” I flipped through a few chapters not paying attention to him.
“Alright then.”
Lyra was going to kill me, I’ve been taking so long.
“Have you spoken to Lyra? Since… you know?” I mutter. He’s been ignoring his step sister this whole time. Finding the page I need, I glance up.
“No. I told you before she’s no sister of mine.”
Here we go again.
“Scorpiu-”
“She’s the Weasley’s half-sister, what was her name? Rose?” Scorpius didn’t seem to bother with them.
“And she’s yours too. Your dad must have had a good reason to-”
“How can you have a good reason for having an affair?” he spat. Aggravated now, his hands turned to fists.
“Shhshshhhh, calm down. Alright. You went born yet. They needed an heir, someone to contine the malfoy line, alright?” I added. That was a perfectly reasonable point.
“No, she wouldn’t fit, her mother isn’t pureblood. That and they weren’t married.” I gave him a questioning look. He was staring off to the side, Scorpius didn’t like to admit facts that were so ‘pureblood supremacist’ tied. Yet he did.
“Selene.”
A blank face turns towards me.
“I will never accept her as my sister or as a Malfoy. I am the only son that family has.”
[8th of November]
[11:02AM]
“Selene! Hey, over here!” a dark haired Ravenclaw called her over, she was reluctant to go over, wanting to check over all her work before she took that final breather but she decided to go anyway.
“Where have you been? Haven’t seen you in so long?”
“I’ve been busy with this project, missed you too Olivia,” she pulled Selene in for a hug. Selene didn’t lift her arms to hug back she felt odd.
“How has the potion coming along?”
“Good.”
Olivia chuckled, “Is that all?” selenes nodded. The Ravenclaw knew she wasn’t always to good with words. It seemed like she was preoccupied with something.
A knock preceded from the entryway of the class. Before Olivia could continue, a tall, sharp-jawed durmstrang motioned to Selene.
“Someone is asking for you?” a small smirk graced her features as she grabbed the gingers attention.
Selenes eyes flashed, Jinny -who was placed beside the two- saw the fuel inside her as she moved quickly towards the exit. A stark contrast from how she approached them was noted by the blonde.
“And there she goes,” turning away to face forward, Olivia catches the snarky comment, “What’s wrong now?”
“Not much, I’m just worried for her liv.”
“Her mother isn’t paying her any attention, no letters since the start of the year, she’s being ignored.” the raven haired girl sighed at her friends vocied worries. “That’s not news, it’s been like that ever since she was little.”
“Now it’s worse, they’re doing something to her, it’s like she’s being brainwashed by them or something.”
“Who?” Olivia’s eyes narrowed at the doorway, she watched the ginger slip away with Liu
“Those snakes, who else would it be.” Jinny hissed peering back a few tables to Rosier and Sullivan, in green. The poison dripping from their unnatural existence.
“I think i hurt her but shes changed even before i spoke.” jinny looks back forward, not daring to fully admit what she said to selene.
“Did you say something stupid again?”
“No, but we need to do something,” she glanced back at the Ravenclaw.
“I want the old Selene back.”
“Yangyang, where were you. I’ve been looking all over for you. I – well I missed you.” She let him pull her down the corridor and into a disused storage chamber.
She coughed a bit as he shut the door, pulling at the dangling light cord. The smell was old and musky inside, the dust collected tickling at her nostrils.
The light flashed on showering the two in a golden bask. She only then realised how close they were in proximity.
“I was, uh, I was kind of busy.” He fiddled with the tip of her Gryffindor tie. She could feel his knuckles brushing past her chest. His fingers were cold as they caressed her soft but gaunt cheekbones.
Smirking he pressed down onto her bones feeling the skeletal firmness push back. She felt weak, fragile. And he enjoyed that feeling.
“I- um, I mean, that’s ok. I just, I hadn’t spoken to you in a while.” She couldn’t form coherent words with his breath sliding down past her jaw and to her already red neck.
“Yeah, so I was wondering.” He lifts a strand of red hair twirling it between his fingers, “If you would like to accompany me to the ball?”
“M-me? You mean th- ball? The yule ball?” he nodded.
Selene furiously blushed, nodding and mumbling a mixture of ‘yes’ and ‘of course’.
“Good,” he glanced down towards her lips. “Now before you go” he moved closer until there was a hairs width keeping them from touching. She could almost taste his overpowering cologne.
Her fingers frivolously tried to catch of a firm grip onto the shelf behind her for support.
“You want to please me right?” he chuckled watching her nod eagerly, “I want you to do something for me.”
“Anything.”

Pairing: Slytherin!Zhong Chenle x (Gender Neutral) Ravenclaw!Reader
Wordcount: 3.5K
Warnings: None.. i think lol ??
Theme: Enemies to lovers
𝚙𝚕𝚎𝚊𝚜𝚎 𝚍𝚘 𝚗𝚘𝚝 𝚛𝚎𝚜𝚙𝚘𝚜𝚝 ! ♡
You groaned in protest when you received the result of your Astronomy test back. You glared at the "Exceeds Expectations" written with red ink in the upper right corner of the paper. You refused to turn around when you heard Professor Sinistra give your classmate his results back. You already knew that he had received a higher grade than you when you heard him cheer but you were too stubborn to turn around and meet his gaze.
You and Chenle were always competing with one another since the first day of school. The two of you were always fighting for the number one spot in both your classes and on the quidditch field. As a Ravenclaw, you found it challenging to compete with him, especially when it came to classes that you weren't interested in. Chenle was a Slytherin and he possessed a determination like no one else but you were too prideful to admit defeat and let him win.
When you exit the classroom after the lesson had ended you heard his voice calling out for you. Panicking, you picked up your steps and walked faster, hoping you would lose him in the massive crowd of students. You discretely slipped into an empty corridor and looked behind you to make sure you had gotten away. You let out a deep sigh and decided to stay there until the students had disappeared.
"What's the rush, L/n?" You could recognise that voice anywhere. You closed your eyes in annoyance before turning around.
"What do you want?" You asked.
"Woah, calm down tiger-" He had that shit-eating grin on his lips.
"-I just wanted to compare the results, like we always do." He leaned against the wall with only his right shoulder touching it. You squinted your eyes, he knew that you had gotten a worse grade than him.
"Not right now, I'm late for Transfiguration." You said quickly before walking past him.
You felt his hand grab your left arm firmly, keeping you in place. You felt your stomach flutter in anticipation. Refusing to look at him, you kept your gaze straight forward. You watched him in the corner of your eye, he shifted closer to you. Your heart jumped slightly when you suddenly felt his breath next to your ear.
"Don't pretend like you're late for class, L/n. I know I got a better grade than you." He whispered before his grip loosened and he walked away in the opposite direction.
You felt the anger bubble in you before you continued to walk in the same direction you were heading.
"What are you glaring at?" Your friend followed your gaze only to see Zhong Chenle laughing at his friend over at the Slytherin table.
"Oh-" She returned to eating her dinner.
"-I don't get what you are so mad about, he seems nice." She said.
For the first time during dinner, you tore your eyes away from the blonde-haired guy that almost had caught you staring.
"Are you dumb? He's a semblance of evil." You pointed an accusing finger at him, which your friend followed only to see him clinging onto his other friend to prevent himself from falling backwards in laughing.
"I'm sure he is," Your friend said sarcastically and gave you a pointed look before returning to her food.
You sighed and let your hand drop to the table. It seemed like you were the only one who knew what he was really like. When you looked up again, he was looking at you with that annoying smirk, he gave you a playful wink and then returned to his dinner. You felt your cheeks heat up in anger and you furiously started to eat your food.
There was no way in hell that Zhong Chenle was going to do better than you on the next test. With that thought racing through your mind on repeat like a broken record, you decided to dedicate the rest of the day to studying in the library. The library at Hogwarts was big, to say the least. It was easy to get lost in it as someone who was unfamiliar with it but you knew exactly where you were headed.
There was a spot between two long bookshelves pretty deep into the library, few people knew of it which made it the perfect study spot. No one could disturb you, it was just you, your book and silence just like you wanted it.
You sat down in the blue armchair, it was soft and you sank slightly. You pulled out your Transfiguration book and swung your legs over the left armrest while using the right one to support your back as you leaned your head on the backrest. You started to read while taking notes of the important things, you just had to beat him this time.
Time passed by in a hurry as you studied and before you knew it you could only see darkness when you gazed out the grand windows of the library. You looked at a clock on the other side of the room with tired eyes, a quarter till eight. You knew the library closed at eight but you felt too tired to move. Deciding that you would take a nap, you closed your eyes. Madam Pince will surely wake you up when she's closing the library.
The next time you opened your eyes it was pitch black around you. You blinked in confusion and rubbed your eyes out of habit. It took a few seconds for your eyes to adjust to the darkness. You realised that you were still in the library, with the Transfiguration book in your lap and your notes on the floor in front of the armchair. They must've fallen while you slept, you thought while stretching. The real question was, why were you still in the library and how long had you slept? You couldn't read the time on the clock on the other side of the room anymore. You were about to get up and check the time when you heard the click of a big lock. The door to the library creaked familiarly and then closed. Quick footsteps were headed in your direction, you felt the phase of your heart pick up and your breathing quicking as they approached.
The sound of footsteps was suddenly drowned by the door to the library opening again. This time you heard another pair of footsteps, they sounded heavier and were slower than the first pair of footsteps. You then heard the distinct meow of a cat.
Your blood ran cold, you weren't sure who the first individual was but you were certain that they were trying to run from Mr Filch and Mrs Norris.
You shuffled quietly, trying to pick up your things and shove them in your bag. You had completely forgotten about the first pair of footsteps in your panic until a figure stopped abruptly in front of you. You stopped with what you were doing, staring at the figure in front of you and the figure stared back quietly. The sound of Filch and his cat approaching broke the tense silence and made the figure walk in between the bookshelves, towards you. Your breath quickened even more as the figure came closer.
The figure hushed you softly before standing beside you. You could spot the light from Flich's lantern in the dark and your breathing got heavier in panic. A hand suddenly clasped over your mouth, covering the sounds of your breaths. You panicked at first until you recognised the scent of the figure, you couldn't pinpoint the smell to a person but you had met the person more than a few times. Your mind lost its focus on the scent when the light came closer to the bookshelves. "Locomotor book," A hushed voice said beside you. You watched as a book from the bookshelf to the right hovered in mid-air in front of you before the person beside you made a quick motion to the left with their wand.
The book was slung far to the left, causing a loud noise as it hit the ground a few bookshelves from your position. The two of you watched in suspense as the light stopped moving. A low grumbling voice mumbled something before the light started to disappear in the other direction. You gently removed the hand from your face and picked up your notes and put them in your bag.
"Come on," The voice whispered beside you.
"I know a way out of the library." A hand grabbed your wrist and dragged you with them as they walked forward.
The person peeked their head out from between the shelves, checking if it was safe to walk out. You also peeked your head out, looking to the left you saw the light between the shelves a few rows down. The person started to walk in the opposite direction, dragging you with them. The two of you walked a few meters before you ducked behind a row of shelves. The person let go of your wrist and started to search the shelf in front of you. You watched as they tapped a few books in a pattern. For a few seconds, nothing happened. Then you saw the bookshelf slowly and noiselessly move to the side, revealing a tunnel.
"That's a little cliché," You whispered to the person.
"You obviously haven't explored the rest of the castle if you find this cliché." The person whispered back before grabbing your wrist again.
You both turned around when you heard a loud meow behind you. Mrs Norris sat on the floor, her red eyes almost glowed in the dark as she stared at the two of you. The person reacted when he saw the light approaching and rushed into the opening in the wall, dragging you with them. As soon as you had passed the opening the bookshelf started to move back to its original place silently. When the tunnel became entirely dark, indicating that the path had been closed, you let out a relieved sigh.
"I'm never sleeping in the library again," You whispered, earning a laugh from the person in front of you.
"Thank you so much for getting me out..." You trailed off waiting for your rescuer to reveal themselves.
"Lumos," The person whispered. The light from the wand filled the narrow path you were standing in. Your eyes widened as a face appeared in front of you.
"...Chenle." He filled in for you while you just stared in shock.
"Why are you running from Filch at this hour?!" You whisper shouted.
"I'll explain on the way, let's go." He waved his hand as a sign for you to follow him.
The two of you walked in silence as you waited for him to answer you, he caught you looking at him with an expecting look and chuckled before starting to speak.
"I was trying to plant a bag of stink pellets in Snape's storage but Filch almost caught me so I ran to the library to hide." He said.
"You're lucky I found you or you might've been caught." He teased you.
"This doesn't change the fact that I still hate you, Zhong Chenle." You teased back.
"I still hate you too, Y/n L/n." He smiled.
When you reached the end of the tunnel you had ended up on the second floor. You bit your lip anxiously, it wasn't going to be easy to sneak up to the fifth floor unnoticed. Chenle noticed you looking uncertain.
"I'll help you sneak into your common room." He said confidently.
"Really?" You asked in disbelief. "How?" You eyed him curiously and suspiciously.
"I know my way around this castle, just trust me okay?" He held out his hand. You hesitated before slipping your hand in his. He grinned a child-like grin and before you knew it you were running.
The way to the Ravenclaw common room was not safe but luckily avoided being caught by three teachers or prefects. You rushed towards the big door with the bronze eagle door knocker.
"Hurry, before someone notices us," Chenle whispered.
"What is always in front of you but can never be seen?" The door knocker asked calmly.
"What the hell?" Chenle asked.
"The future," You answered confidently.
"Correct." The door knocker simply said before the door slid open. You walked up to the door and turned around. Chenle smiled at you awkwardly.
"Well, goodnight Y/n." He said.
"Goodnight Chenle." You smiled. He smiled in return and started to walk away.
"Oh and Chenle?" You called. He turned around in confusion.
"Thank you," You said simply before slipping into your common room, missing the smile that appeared on his lips.
You woke up extremely tired the next morning, you never found out what the time was when you woke up in the library but after the little adventure, you were exhausted. Your friends kept asking you why you were so tired and you just answered that you had been studying, which wasn't a lie, technically. Chenle looked equally tired when you glanced his way during breakfast but he was still smiling nonetheless. When you looked at him again, you noticed that the bubbling hate was gone but the desire to win was still there and that was exactly what you were going to do.
The day passed quickly and when you exited your last class you headed straight for the Ravenclaw Tower. You decided that you were not risking falling asleep in the library again and the Ravenclaw common room also had a good atmosphere when it came to studying. You also knew that you could avoid unnecessary distractions like another night adventure with a certain blond-haired Slytherin while you were in your common room.
"Tell me why you're studying like crazy for a test that's in two weeks," Your friend was lazily sprawled out on the couch beside you, staring up at the roof of the tower.
"Because-" You turned to her.
"-I gotta get a better grade than Chenle on this test." You turned back to your book.
"Dude, what are you? Five years old? Just admit that you like him." She said casually.
You froze and felt your cheeks heat up. Immediately, you turned around and glared at her.
"I do not LIKE Chenle!" You defended yourself. Your friend turned to look at your red cheeks and fierce eyes.
"Sure you don't." She laughed. You only glared in return.
Slowly, but surely, the night started to fall around the Hogwarts castle. The stars that were painted on the roof of the common room started to shine faintly, alongside a few lanterns here and there. The dim lighting made it harder to stay awake and most Ravenclaws took that as a sign to go to bed. Soon, you were left alone in the common room, with the book in your lap and you dozing off every other second.
The door knocker suddenly pounded on the other side of the door, breaking your tired daze. You heard muffled voices on the other side of the door, most likely the Eagle asking some night owl Ravenclaw student a riddle. You returned to your book, reading the same sentence for what felt like the hundredth time. The door opened and someone stepped inside. Their footsteps were muffled by the big blue carpet that covered the floor of the common room. You didn't mid them until you saw a pair of feet stopped a few inches from you. You looked up and you wanted to smile and roll your eyes at the same time.
"What are you doing here?" You asked, masking your curiosity with fake annoyance.
"Taking you on an adventure," Chenle grinned.
"Can't you see that I'm a little busy?" You asked and pointed to the book in your grasp.
"Are you though?" Chenle tilted his head to the right, trying to convince you to follow him. You raised your eyebrows and just stared at him.
"C'mon Y/n!" He whined. "Live a little!".
"Ugh fine, we can't be out too late though and if we get caught I will be throwing you under the bus." You placed your book on a table and stood up.
"Fine by me," He shrugged before grabbing your hand and leading you towards the door.
"How did you even get in here?" You asked him curiously.
"Well the doorknocker asked me "Why is a raven like a writing desk?" and I answered that you shouldn't shove either up your arse." He smiled proudly.
"I don't think that's-" You were cut off.
"Well it worked, didn't it? Everything doesn't always have to be so complicated you know, Y/n." He smiled before turning his head forward.
Before you knew it, you and Chenle were sneaking around in the dark corridors of the castle. If it hadn't been for Chenle, you would never have even considered exploring the castle. You were always so caught up in homework and tests, it was nice to feel free for an exchange. He showed you various shortcuts that would take you between the different floors and save you a lot of time when you were on your way towards a lesson.
"-and this right here-" Chenle grabbed the edge of the bookcase that looked to be firmly placed against the stone wall. The bookcase moved and you saw an opening appear.
"-is another shortcut." He finished, looking at you with a proud smile.
"Where does it lead to?" You asked with an excited smile.
"You'll see." He said and nodded his head towards the opening, signalling for you to walk first.
You raised a brow at him before walking past him. Chenle walked in behind you, he pushed the bookcase back in its original place, making it go dark in the space you were located. You took out your wand and muttered a quick "Lumos" and light was brought into the dark space. A grand spiral staircase made in stone was placed in front of you, practically begging you to find out where it leads. Without asking Chenle to lead the way, your curiosity took over and you started to climb the staircase. You heard Chenle's footsteps behind you as he started to follow you up the big stairs.
The only thing that broke the comfortable silence was the sound of your footsteps against the big stone steps. You didn't feel like you had to talk or like you had to lighten the mood. It was perfect, something you never had expected to feel within a 0.5-mile radius of Zhong Chenle.
It took a while to reach the top of the stairs but it felt like almost no time had passed when you reached an archway that was placed next to the last step. You looked Chenle expectingly but he only nodded towards the door, telling you to have a look for yourself. You peeked out of the door and walked out.
"We're in the Fat Lady's corridor!" You exclaimed, quietly, to not attract attention. Chenle shrugged nonchalantly and smiled.
"You'll never be late to Divination again," He said. Before you could respond, your eye caught a clock in one of the corridors. Half-past one in the morning.
"We should probably head back," You said, a little disappointed that you couldn't stay up all night exploring the castle with Chenle. He glanced at the clock.
"Yeah, you're probably right." He smiled before you both disappeared down the secret shortcut again.
You felt like you weren't wasting time for the first time in a very long time, Chenle made you laugh with his unpredictable jokes and comments. You admired the fact that he knew so much about the castle, you felt dumb for not exploring it before and when you arrived at the Ravenclaw common room, you didn't feel like saying goodbye.
"This was really fun, we have to do this again." You said when you were standing in front of the door to the Ravenclaw tower.
"Of course," Chenle's eyes almost disappeared because of his big smile.
"Well then, goodnight Chenle." You turned around and walked up to the door.
"Y/n, wait!" Chenle called. You had barely turned around before he was standing right in front of you.
"Chenle, what-" You were cut off by a pair of lips trapping your own.
Chenle kissed you, square on the lips, without warning. Your brain started to panic as your heart tried to match the speed of light. The kiss didn't last more than a few seconds before he pulled away slowly, you subconsciously tried to keep your lips connected by following him but soon your lips separated. Chenle was smiling goofily at your eagerness.
"I've been wanting to do that for a while now." He rubbed the back of his neck sheepishly.
"Why don't you do it again?" You blurred out before you could even process the words. You looked down in embarrassment until fingers lifted your chin back up to look at him.
"I would love to," He smirked. You hit him in the arm softly.
"I still hate you," You mumbled. He laughed.
"I still hate you too." He smiled lovingly before stealing another kiss.

based off this interrogation scene from the order of the phoenix!
7:59pm: “caught this one trying to help zhong,” a member of the inquisitorial squad shoves hufflepuff!jaemin into professor umbridge’s office, and gryffindor!jeno cranes his neck from his seat to watch his fellow member of dumbledore’s army be dragged alongside the rest of his friends.
what kind of mad person ties their student to a chair? he thinks, forearms tied down so tightly he could barely feel the tips of his fingers.
umbridge leans forward, way too close for his liking, and coos in that sickly sweet voice; “you were going to dumbledore, weren’t you?”
jeno technically isn’t lying when he replies no, but the sudden and harsh sting across his cheek renders him speechless. ravenclaw!renjun and hufflepuff!chenle visibly flinch at the crack, and jeno hears one of the inquisitorial squad snigger at their reactions.
“you sent for me, headmistress?”
jeno has never imagined he could ever be so hopeful to hear that drawling voice in his life. snape’s shadowy figure stands looming in the doorway, and umbridge straightens up to acknowledge him. if only jeno could warn him somehow—sirius, he was in danger—
jeno’s whirlwind thoughts come to a halting stop when a word in their conversation stands out—veritaserum?
“i’m afraid you’ve used up all my stores, interrogating students—the last of it on y/l/n.”
what?
jeno feels his face loosen in shock as he glances at gryffindor!donghyuk and ravenclaw!jisung, the former’s expression faltering as he registers snape’s words.
you had never betrayed them—umbridge had forced it out of you.
jeno sees instant regret in donghyuk’s eyes—remembers the bitterly cold shoulders and silent treatment the gryffindor had given you after their secret meetings were upturned following your supposed ‘betrayal’. jeno has to admit—donghyuk had taken it hard, possibly even harder than he had.
“unless you wish to poison him, and i assure you, i would have the greatest sympathy if you did...” clenching his jaw in frustration, jeno thinks desperately of a way to get help, even if it had to be through snape—“i cannot help you.”
he’s got sirius... he’s got padfoot. padfoot!
finding his voice, jeno manages to cry out after snape as he turns to leave. “h-he’s got padfoot!”
miraculously, snape stops at the doorway—and so does jeno’s heart for a moment. “he... he’s got padfoot, at the place where it’s hidden.” please, please help us.
“padfoot? what is padfoot? where what is hidden? what is he talking about, snape?”
the man turns back at him with an unreadable expression, and jeno doesn’t know whether to feel a glimmer of hope or if he should have felt that hope dying out instantly. please.
“no idea,” the professor shrugs, and stalks down the corridor, each step of his shoes stamping down at jeno’s heart.
“very well,” he barely hears umbridge mutter under her breath, “you give me no choice, mr lee.”
he watches his friends’ faces harden at umbridge’s words—what was she planning?
“as this is an issue of ministry security, you leave me with... no alternative.” a beat that seemed to last an hour. “the cruciatus curse ought to loosen your tongue.”
“that’s illegal,” renjun counters, even as the inquisitorial squad member shoves their wand in his back harder.
“what cornelius doesn’t know won’t hurt him,” umbridge replies, almost to herself as she tips the picture frame of the minister for magic facedown onto her desk.
jeno can barely think as the pink-clad headmistress of hogwarts raises her wand at him with her stubbly fingers, her deadset mind showing on her twisted toad of a face. the cats on the walls start yowling even louder as she prepares to cast the curse, and jeno’s breath hitches in his throat—he is about to be tortured—actually tortured—
“tell her, jeno!” renjun shouts just as donghyuk opens his mouth to protest.
umbridge looks shocked to have been interrupted. “tell me what?”
renjun takes almost no notice of her, and glares straight at jeno. “well, if you don’t tell her where it is—i will.”
what are you doing? jeno wants to ask, still frozen in his spot.
“where what is?”
“dumbledore’s secret weapon,” renjun screws his eyes shut like he had just announced their ultimate surrender.
jeno makes eye contact with donghyuk, and seemingly shares a telepathic connection for a split second.
he’s buying us time.
