For those of you calling 2012 Mikey innocent and constantly babying him and saying he must be protected, you are literally doing the exact thing that he hates.

2012 Mikey has stated in the show that he hates being treated like a child and doesn’t like it when people look/treat him as such. Yes, his brothers are still gonna be protective of him but that’s brotherly instincts. He is the youngest after all.

But we have to remember that in the end…

Mikey is NOT innocent. He has committed manslaughter. He literally ate PizzaFace alive, who is a mutant that used to be a living human being.

Mikey does NOT need to be protected. He can handle himself. He managed to figure out and survive in Dimension X all on his own for what seemed like weeks/months. He also took on villains like Tiger Claw, Rahzar and Newtralizer by himself!

Mikey is NOT a baby. Mikey is a skilled ninja. Splinter has stated that Mikey has the highest intuition compared to his brothers. He was also willing to sacrifice and die for his friends and family in an attempt to to stop Newtrailzer, staying behind as Dregg’s ship exploded.

Every single TMNT 2012 AU I have (so far):

Turtles In The Roaring 20s - In 1923, Splinter is the proud owner of the most popular underground jazz club in New York, with his four sons being the stars. However there’s family drama going on backstage.

Mission Failed - The Turtles and friends failed their 6 month mission to save the Earth from the Triceratons. 10 years later, the team as split up going their separate ways but are all still haunted by their biggest failure.

Mistress Millennium - I don’t really know if this counts as an AU, it’s just a “what if Renet became a villain?” story.

Salamandrian April AU - April gets captured by the Kraang as a child but it rescued by Sal Commander. To hide her from the Kraang, April grows up on Salamandria along side Mona Lisa where they train together and become like sisters.

Future AU - The Turtles and their friends are now all grown up. Some are married, some have kids of their own and others have successful careers/lives. The story follows their adulthood while also preparing the next generation of the Hamato Clan.

Princess Bride AU - When Kintaro is stuck in bed sick his friend Usagil decides to visit and read him a story about adventure, action, miracles, and true love between a turtle and a lizard.

Actor AU - It’s all a TV show in their world and everyone are just actors. Fun stuff happens behind the scenes when filming TMNT.

Medieval AU - Splinter is the King of the Hamato Kingdom. The Turtles and Miwa are the prince/princess of the kingdom. After Splinter mysteriously dies and Miwa missing, Leo must find a wife and prepare to become king within a year.

Mazes & Mutants - The roleplaying game is now real! A world of fantasy and adventure as the Turtles and friends travel the land, exploring and fighting evil beasts.

Teenage Mutant Monster Turtles - Everyone is a monster (Leo a mummy, Raph a vampire, Mikey a werewolf, Donnie Frankenstein’s Monster etc), hijinx ensue.

Robin Hood AU - Raphael and Slash are the iconic duo of Robin Hood and Little John, robbing from the rich and giving to the poor, rebelling against the wick Sharif, Tiger Claw, and the greedy Prince Newtrailzer.

Human/High School AU - The title is self explanatory. Leo is class president and Mr Popular, Raph is a troublemaking jock, Donnie is a straight A student and tutors his classmates, and Mikey is a class clown.

Childhood AU - The Turtles and all their friends are kids having a big playdate together.

Greek Gods AU - Everyone is their own take on the Greek Gods, but with their own twists. (Ex: Splinter is Zeus but he is NOT a chatting scumbag)

I love this series with a passion but they missed some golden opportunities. 

Karai embracing her new life and real family and becoming the big sister the Turtles never had but so badly needed.

April bonding and having team up episodes with the other Turtles besides Donnie. (She got one with Leo, why didn’t she get one also with Raph and Mikey??)

Timothy’s return.

Fugitoid’s return.

Meeting Casey’s dad and little sister and just learning more about his personal life.

Slash reuniting with Newtrailzer during the When Worlds Collide special and finally getting his revenge.

Shinirai becoming canon.

All those villains who were like “ALL BE BAACCKK” but never came back, ending up just being those one episode characters.

Would they use CGI or practical effects or puppeter in your TMNT actor AU? Also I wanna know some stuff about the salamandrians in the actor AU- (Can you tell what kind of animal person I am-?)

A mix of CGI and practical effects. It all depends on the situation/scene they are doing. So something like April using her psychic powers or Karai's mutant snake arms, CGI. But an explosion, Mikey's zits in that one ep, or Karai's snake eyes/skin in her human form, it be practical effects/makeup.

Characters like Fugitoid and Metalhead would be animatronics that the actors work with on set. Fugitoid's human self (that we see in canon through flashbacks) would be a voice actor rather than an on screen actor. He'd recorded his lines then the crew would add his lines in during the editing process after filming.

As for the Salamandrian characters, in the AU, Sal, Mona along with all the other alien characters in the show are actually mutants playing alien roles. In the Actor AU, humans and mutant both exist, but aliens are not real.

Sal in the AU is a popular actor who has played many roles in his life, the younger actors like the Turtles and April look up to him cause he was basically their childhood! He is both an actor and voice actor, and has even done singing roles too (he's got a lovely voice).

Mona is a more fresh and new actor, who's parents are acting legends and she wants to follow in their foot steps and make a name for herself. Mona is also naturally fit and can do most of her own stunts. She actually had a kick boxing career when she was younger before she started acting, she her having some experience in fighting helped her get the part.

Newtrailzer is an actor who always gets casted as the villain and can even do his own stunts. Sadly though, he was a man with a busy schedule and other acting gigs, so they had to kill off his character in season 2, but luckily he made some time to reprise his role so the director found a way to bring him back for season 5.

Is it weird that I'm waiting for the day Donnie and Mikey get called racist or colonizers because they also named two salamanders (Newtralizer and Sal commander)-? Especially the hypocritical Ramona haters (no hate to Donnie and Mikey and okay I don't really want this to happen but I still want people to realize Mikey and Donnie also named salamanders and not just Raph. Not to mention Donnie named a salamander way before Raph-)

No because I’ve been waiting for that too, but the people (mostly dumb kids on TikTok with nothing better to do) who are saying that are hypocrites.

They see something that is happy, healthy and unproblematic and they just can’t except that. Everything has to have a problem nowadays. So they go and attack Raphael and Mona Lisa despite it being the most healthy and unproblematic couple in the entire series!

But if you point out that Mikey is doing the same “problematic” thing Raph is doing they won’t go after him because he’s their sweet baby boy who can do no wrong. Despite him literally changing the names of almost every mutant character they have come across! Ex: Rahzar/Dogpound, Fishface, Bebop, Rocksteady, Mondo Gecko, and even Sal Commander!

At least, for Raph and Mona’s case, Raph offered her the nickname and she happily excepted it.

A lot of people seem to forget he didn’t change her name, “Mona Lisa” is her nickname, with Raph indirectly telling her that every time he calls her “Mona Lisa” he is telling her she is a beautiful work of art! Also Raph did try to pronounce her alien name but he struggled with it. “Oh but I was able to pronounce it-” GOOD FOR YOU BUT NOT EVERYONE CAN! IT TOOK ME A WHILE TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO PROPERLY PRONOUNCE HER ALIEN NAME.

For Mikey and Sal Commander, Sal introduced himself by his alien name and then Mikey was just like “Nah bro, I’ve got a better name” and Sal just had to deal with it. Mikey didn’t even bother to try to pronounce Sal’s name. At least Raph put in effort!

Now for Donnie’s case, when he first met Newtrailzer he was under the impression that he was just another mindless mutant experiment gone rogue that was created by the Kraang, so I kinda give him a past cause he didn’t know if Newtralizer had a name and was obviously not going to stop and ask him because, well, Newtralizer was attacking him!

Btw I want to clarify that I don’t think Mikey and Donnie are racist/colonizers, I’m just using the haters dumb logic and showing how ridiculous it is.

Another reason to add as to why Raph should have gotten the electrical powers instead of Mikey is because, Raph seems to be more Newtralizer's arch nemesis rather then Mikey. Like yeah we have seen Mikey and Newt not get along well but, in the episode Newtralized Raph fought a lot more with Newt and you feel like Newt would have a grudge towards Raph because he was the one who made Slash realize how bad he really was. I don't know if this makes sense or nah-

Raph should’ve been the one to have the electric powers, yes, I’ve been saying this for year so I 100% agree.

However, I’d argue Newtrailzer started off as Donnie’s villain not Raph’s. Newtralizer’s intro episode was a Donnie centered episode and he was the villain Donnie had to face off against and defend/escape from with April’s dad. He’s even the one who named him.

In short, When Worlds Collide should’ve had Raph as the main focus while Donnie should’ve been the secondary focus. Instead they made us think Raph would be the main focus only for Mikey aka the writer’s favorite next to Leo to steal his spotlight by the second half of the special and have him save the day instead of Raph.

Also Slash should’ve been in that episode not Karai. My girl had no reason or point to be there, it would’ve made more sense for Slash to be there because, you know, he actually has a history with Newtrailzer like everyone else in that episode!!

A moment to appreciate Newtralizer who never got pissed or annoyed with the others calling him Newtralizer even though that isn't his real name (His real name is K'Vathrak for those who might ask). My friend pointed out that he might as well had liked the name a lot so- xd No seriously though- he never told them to shut up with that name or even tried to blast them for it

Did they ever even refer to him as Newtrailzer to his face? Any time they call him by that name he is either

A) Not in the room

B) Far off in the distance where he can not hear them

Not to mention the Turtles rarely see Newt/interact with him when he is in an episode, only being in 2 plus a half hour special. And also assuming how much time has passed in between each season (which is an entirely different discussion and theory I have but will not share right now)

S1 - he was mute and did not have a VA yet, also he did not have an official name till close to the end of the episode, a name that was given to him when he wasn't even nearby. Donnie and Mr O'Neil were running and hiding from him when they came up with the name.

S2 - Again, he rarely interacts with the Turtles, it was mostly Slash doing the interactions with them, and when he did see the Turtles, there was no talking, just fighting, no conversations happened. Not to mention that Slash only never refers to Newt as his "partner" or "brother" which begs the question if not even Slash knew Newt's alien name.

S5 - He's mostly referred to by his Salamandrian name K'Vathrak by Bishop Sal and Mona, and when they (The Turtles and friends) do say "Newtrailzer" most of, if not all of the time, Newt is, again, nowhere near them.

So that's probably why K'Vathrak never showed anger towards the nickname "Newtrailzer" because he probably doesn't even know that they gave him one in the first place!

Personal opinion that I want angst creators to make: Give Sal Commander more angst. I don't know why but he fits perfectly to give angst to like- for my AU he has a huge guilt complex because he blames himself for what happened to Newtralizer and has nightmares of when he turned into a ruthless monster. Which literally causes him to forbid even the mention of Newt (they tried to organize a search party to find him before that but it failed after Newt got captured by the Kraang). Bro even becomes overprotective and is obsessed to not lose any other salamandrian because he blames himself for everything that has happened. If he was there for Newtralizer, none of this would have happened. Which makes when the two have a conflict in WWC even more emotional. Especially when Sal tries to apologize to him. PLEASE HE IS PERFECT FOR TORTURING- I MEAN- This is a good idea! :3

Add this is my idea that Sal Commander is VERY overprotective of Mona Lisa cause he doesn't want what happened to Newtrailzer to happen to his lieutenant that he sees like the daughter he never had.

Gonna be honest for a while I thought Newtralizer also cut Sal's tail off. Would have been funny if he did the same thing as Alopex and wore Sal's tail as a trophy of sorts if he actually did that. Then bro just taunts him with that and makes fun of him.

My opinion on this concept is the same as people's headcanons/old theories that Newtrailzer is Mona's uncle or dad: It's repetitive and makes it unoriginal in the TMNT 2012 story.

I wanna note this is no hate to your idea, this is just coming from my perspective as a writer. I'm all for parallels and characters going through similar situations of trauma, but there's a line that should not be crossed when two characters go through THE EXACT SAME THING. Sal's missing tail being cut off by Newt and Newt keeping it as a trophy loses it impact and meaning since we've already had that concept established when we were introduced to Alopex and her dynamic with Tiger Claw in late season 4.

The big difference is, Tiger Claw's tail being missing was acknowledge and mentioned to be a big part of his character and past early on (unlike Sal's tail), with Karai pointing in out in his intro episode Wormquake/The Manhattan Project (Part 1).

Karai: Sensitive subject maybe, but shouldn't tigers have tails?

Tiger Claw: Don't mock me, child. It was a rival who sliced off my tail. One day I will find it, and he will pay the price!

Karai: If you can't keep your own tail-

Shredder: Silence, Karai. 

He refers to Alopex as "he", probably because the writers didn't decide who took his tail around that time of writing this ep, but for fun I HC he didn't want everyone to know he got his ass kicked by a girl

And that wasn't a one time thing mentioned, him missing is tail continues to be acknowledge by other characters later in the episode:

Raph: Just wait, Tiger Claw. Splinter's gonna kick that little stub of a tail so deep in your striped-

Tiger Claw: Silence!

So by season 4, we get the answer to what happened to TC's tail, it makes the tiny side plot of two interesting characters fulfilling. Alopex being the one to take her own brother's tail made her character memorable to fans and adds more to TC's backstory, so having someone else do the same exact thing she did takes away her credit and the big thing that made her stand out as her own character.

Sal's missing tail is never talked about in the show. The creators intention with Sal Commander was that he is covered in scars and having missing body parts, establishing he's an old war veteran who has been through some dark shit in his life wearing outdated armor and baring rusty old looking weaponry, a parallel to Mona's design where she is wearing more advance high tech shiny clean armor and weapons, and has no missing limbs or visible scars.

They are supposed to symbolize two different generations of Salamandrian warriors. Sal's missing tail can speak a lot for his past, but that is not the intention, it's purpose was symbolism between he and Mona.

His eye missing is a more eye catching (pun intended) figure of his design, so that question being answered with Newtrailzer being the one who took it, leaves a good impact on Sal's past and how gruesome and evil Newt can actually be. When he sees Sal again in When Worlds Collide, he does what you said you wish he did with the tail concept, taunt and mock Sal.

Newtralizer: G'Throkka, my old friend. I think it's time I took your other eye!

Sal Commander: You dirty- Aah!

So in the end, I disagree, I feel Newtralizer being responsible for ALL of Sal's injuries is too much. It takes away Alopex's impact on her relationship/history with Tiger Claw and over does the same for Newtralizer and Sal Commander's characters too.

One thing I question to this day is how Newtralizer was able to clean himself. Plus I wonder if he is still able to consume water. Plus Idk if other types of liquids can affect him as well.

Hi here's a random idea to give Sal angst. So uhm- I was rewatching Evil Of Dregg so I can continue my rewrite and came up with Dregg saying something to Sal. Basically Sal just comments that he will not let Dregg take over his planet and then Dregg to anger him just says. ''Awww how come? I already took one salamander from you, I'm sure I can take your entire planet as well!'' To that, upsets Sal because he forbade himself to ever think of that one newt guy who he lost a decade ago. Later on near the end of the episode we get a Mikey and Sal moment where he asks what's wrong and while Sal is hesitant he does tell a little to Mikey. Small flashback and we don't see who the salamander is but we do gets hints on who it is. Kind of something random I felt like sharing because HOLLY CRAP IS MAKING REWRITES PAINFUL

Welcome to the club! Doing rewrites is a pain but also a joy when the ideas come in. I so badly want to make a big post or something explaining how I'd rewrite TMNT 2012 in great detail but I never have the time nor the malfunction in my brain to put myself through all that.

I really do love that inclusion of Newtrailzer's alliance with Dregg being hinted at earlier on! It would've given the canon main plot more connection to the ridiculous idea of S5 just being a collection of side stories. Newtrailzer working for Dregg came out of nowhere in When Worlds Collide so it would've been nice if there was more build up to that eventual "reveal".
