I will never be able to express how much I adore this bit. Aragorn is coming into his own; something he has worked for and suffered for over the past several decades. And yet even now, in his moment of triumph, he doesn't allow it to be all about himself.

He takes his moment of triumph and uses it to honor Frodo and hail the victory of Gandalf.

And as much as I love how it was done in the movie, part of me is sad we didn't get the symbolism of Frodo being given a burden of hope and delight to bear for a short distance after finally casting aside his burden of despair and horror that he bore for such a long distance.

Issue #2 - The Editor of Weverse Magazine is a Disgusting Creep

More juicy dirt from the HYBE audit! We also learned that the editor-in-chief of Weverse magazine, formerly a music critic, writes a weekly trends in the music industry newsletter which is distributed to the executives at HYBE. Kang Myung-seok published a weekly gossip rag filled with cruel comments about idols, mostly from other labels, rather than supplying helpful information about industry trends, chart performance, or sales. Many of the comments shared were about the physical/sex appeal of female idols - some of whom were minors. Idol behavior and private scandals were also included. Maybe one of the most shocking parts of all is the fact that the documents contained comments from chat groups like DC Gallery and other social media platforms. Some have raised concerns that the information in the weekly briefing might have been used to sway opinion about individuals or groups on social media platforms, or to distract fans away from HYBE problems.

Only a few excerpts from the trends newsletter were shared during the hearing because members of the National Assembly committee felt the contents were too defamatory to share publicly!

Here is the translation of what Representative Min Hyung Bae says to Kim Tae-Ho, COO of HYBE and CEO of Belift Lab:

Min Hyung-bae: "(On internal issues) does Hive have an opinion or not? Is it in there?" Kim "There are some opinions going around ⋯ " Min "No, this is not an indirect quote. Hive also evaluated it. Did you read the evaluation?" Kim " ⋯ " Min: "Can you read it to me?" Kim " ⋯ " I guess it exists since I can't read it The content is so revealing that the National Assembly member cannot disclose it...

In a nutshell, Kim Tae-Ho claims the inappropriate comments in the weekly write up come directly from social media platforms, and that Kang Myung-seok was just sharing what's written about K-pop idols, however, the representative pushes back and says, no, these are obviously the words and opinions of HYBE itself.

While this exchange was happening, HYBE put out a statement on their website, essentially threatening the members of the National Assembly and whoever leaked the documents to them, threatening the whistleblower.

Here's a translation of HYBE's statement:

Here is something Kang Myung-seok wrote before he started at HYBE. FYI, the girl he is fawning over, in peak pedo fashion, was 16 at the time of writing.

Back in April, when Min Hee Jin had her first press conference after being fired (the first time), she mentioned this weekly report and how offensive she found it. She complained to Park Ji-won - then CEO - about it being nothing more than salacious propaganda. Instead of changing course to provide more useful information, she was told simply not to read it.

Today, COO of HYBE/CEO of Belift, Kim Tae-ho, claimed the contents of the weekly report did not represent the opinions of HYBE, but MHJ was told the opposite when she complained.

Anyway, HYBE is trash. They just don't pay the fees to dispose of their trash!

Join Elm City Cycling and the International Festival of Arts & Ideas for a bike ride on the Farmington Canal. The ride will be approximately 3 hours and will leave from the New Haven Green at 9am. Helmets and registration are required. Register here.

This is a great opportunity to ride the Farmington Canal Heritage Trail all the way from New Haven to Massachusetts in a supported group ride setting. It is an amazing way to see the many sides of Connecticut including both historic cities and rural scenery. There will be a shuttle returning riders from Massachusetts to New Haven after the ride is complete. “Ride The State” is always a great experience and a unique way of seeing Connecticut! * CT Trail Census - Get Involved with this Awesome Data Project! We are really glad to be participating in the CT Trail Census again this year, as we have since 2017. Participating in this research project provides us really valuable data about trail usage in New Haven and across the state.

Last year our infrared counters showed that there were over 150,000 trips taken on the trail in New Haven, and the trendline continues to go up, up, up! We need help this year with collecting manual count forms that enable us to calibrate our infrared sensors. Please contact us if you are interested in helping out with this fascinating and useful project – we really need help completing some manual counts to make sure our infrared counter is calibrated correctly!

Fun fact about me is I have never been chill about anything in my life - like ever.

I read Fourth Wing and Iron Flame in one weekend at the beginning of April. Cut to 2 months later, I have 3 published fics, 10 WIPs, and a bunch of FW mutuals.

I started to read Shadowhunter books at 11, and now I preorder every new book and am subscribed to the newsletter by the author.

Even as a child I would write long letters to my favourite authors and read all of their books and watch every adaption (looking at Jacqueline Wilson in particular).

Like, I don't think I've ever been cool about anything like even clubs. I started at a drama school at 10, and when I aged out of the classes, I started helping out with the kids' class. I started Taekwondo aged 5 to help with my balance and gained a junior blackbelt at 10 and a full blackbelt at 13, I carried on until I was 16.

I am not a chill person about anything in my life, but maybe that's a good thing. I fall in love so deeply with everything I consume.

Gavin Rossdale: 'I just quit everything to work on my private life, which was a waste of my time'

The past few years have been a little rocky for Gavin Rossdale, but he's adamant joining The Voice was one of his 'best decisions', and working on the new Bush album proved a much needed catharsis.

Gavin Rossdale is a busy man. Aside from his role as a coach on ITV's The Voice UK, the Bush frontman has been working on a new cookery talk show, his own clothing line, is currently promoting the band's latest record, and the ink is still drying on his first venture into songwriting for other artists.

The past few months have also seen him play his first UK gig in more than five years, amid frequent trips to see, and visits from, his three youngest children (he has three sons with ex-wife Gwen Stefani, and is also the father of 28-year-old model Daisy Lowe).

It all seems quite remarkable given that, two years ago, Rossdale had cancelled a tour and decided he'd never record music again - because, he says, he wanted to focus on trying to fix things with then-wife Stefani, who he'd been married to since 2002 (however, their divorce was finalised in early 2016).

"I just quit everything to work on my private life, which was ironic because that was a waste of f****** time," explains London-born Rossdale (51). "I stopped working when I got divorced, I didn't care, I didn't want to work... I went insular and I put all my time into them (his sons)."

Slowly but surely, however, the pain subsided and he returned to work, which involved writing two albums - the first of which he "spared" everyone, while the second is Black And White Rainbows, Bush's seventh studio album, released in March.

Then there's The Voice. Rossdale calls the decision to join the series one of the best he's ever made, but admits it perhaps seemed a little strange.

"I know it was unusual that someone like me, a street urchin, from counterculture corners where this ancient transcription called rock music exists, [would do something like that], so I know it was a bit of a weird thing, but I'm really proud to be on it and it's nothing but a total pleasure," he insists.

Rossdale was also recently signed by a new record label, after his dealings with BMG came to an end. He claims they feared that he would release a "manic depressive" album, admitting the unreleased material perhaps swayed towards that.

But it was never intended for consumption, he says: "I wasn't writing for anyone but just for me, to find a way for me to mourn, so I went through the mourning process and then a record appeared - and because I'd decided to be as English as possible and take the high road and never discuss it, it meant I had to put everything I felt into the music.

"It was really cathartic and pure because I wasn't trying to sell anything, I wasn't trying to get a hit record."

Bush are famed for being a UK band embraced by America, a trend that's continued with Black And White Rainbows.

However, for a group rarely treated to praise from the Press, Rossdale argues that concern over what the critics think is almost beyond him.

"Of course it bothers me being bashed around, but the funny thing is the world is so serious and difficult, and whether you take the 16 million people who are facing famine, or look at Syria or at the refugees in other war-torn areas, it's a bit much to shed tears because someone says, 'You're pants, you're not very good, we don't like you'."

He thinks The Voice offered a platform for the UK public to see him as a "three-dimensional character", as opposed to "a headline or the t*** who is successful in America and not here".

Rossdale continues: "It was never a situation where I was concerned or worried about a lack of success, I was just as successful as The Pixies, just as successful as The Jesus Lizard, all the bands I grew up with and love and admire. How greedy can you be? 'Oh love me more', it's b*******, man up."

On a roll, he recalls how, when touring with Bowie, the late pop superstar told him to "outlive your critics".

"And I have, I hope. Also, I don't really read as much about our albums because I'm sick of getting a hiding," he adds with a laugh, before suggesting he had a lot of critics in the UK media because of his success in the States.

Despite all this, Rossdale is a charming interviewee. He makes frequent jokes, cheerfully compliments questions, and critiques himself as a hypocrite when suggesting some celebrities cross platforms too readily.

He's also surprisingly funny. After being reminded of a television appearance on The Nightly Show, in which he sat quietly as his fellow Voice coaches did the talking, he admits he was kept silent by a dilemma over whether to have Chinese or Italian for dinner.

His new-found friendship with fellow coach Sir Tom led to the Welsh singer attending Bush's recent gig at London's Shepherd's Bush Empire, and perhaps more poignantly, prompted a conversation about Elvis, which has left a mark on Rossdale.

"People can't go through a week without having a good day, a bad day; it's being human and no matter your stature in life, life is just there.

"I realised this recently after chatting to Tom and he was telling me about a phone call he had from Elvis in 1965. He'd (Elvis)had a tough couple of years, had Kissin' Cousins, the worst Elvis song, he'd stopped making music because he took part in some dodgy movies and he was lost," Rossdale explains. "Tom told me this, and I thought, 'Oh my God, if Elvis was lost for two years, how the f*** are the rest of us going to cut it?'"

Non guardate mai a Mio Padre con paura poiché Egli ama tutti i Suoi figli. Eppure, Egli infliggerà un castigo a coloro che rifiutano la Sua esistenza.

Mia amata figlia prediletta, la purificazione sarà sofferta dall’umanità attraverso guerre, terremoti, eruzioni vulcaniche, tsunami, ondate di calore, colate di fango continui a causa dei peccati dell’umanità.

Solo coloro che si volteranno verso di Me, il loro Divino Salvatore ed il loro Creatore, il Padre Mio, loro Padre, potranno essere salvati. Non guardate mai a Mio Padre con paura  poiché Egli ama tutti i Suoi figli. Eppure, Egli infliggerà un castigo a coloro che rifiutano la Sua esistenza. La Sua pazienza ora, mentre il male, la poca fede e l’amore osceno dell’uomo per se stesso continua, sta giungendo a termine.

Il Mio Eterno Padre, Dio il Creatore di tutto, ama tutti i Suoi figli con la tenerezza che i genitori sentono per i loro figli. Ma come tutti i genitori, responsabili genitori, fanno con i loro figli li puniscono se compiono atti aggressivi o inaccettabili. Così ora l’ira di Mio Padre scenderà sul mondo in questo momento. Questo, figlia Mia come ti ho detto è l’Anno della Purificazione.

Le persone ovunque capiranno che questi eventi non sono naturali. Sono causati dall’intervento divino per far capire, finalmente, all’uomo la verità delle scritture.
