For Jeremy Jordan to give the light that's GREEN!!!!

In Santa Fe, for sure, they do!

But this time it's to go to ITALYYYYYY!!!!

My host family spent five weeks in Assisi, where St. Francis is from (I had an earlier post about finding out Santa Fe was named after him, and Jack's real name is Francis, so he's literally named after his dream place).

My host dad (JJ's doppelgänger) said (without knowing about Gatsby AT ALL) if he gets the "green light" then we'll go again. It's always been my dream place to go to. (Dreams come true . . . yeah they do . . .)

So I made this presentation for my host dad. I asked what he'd do if I got Jeremy Jordan himself to say he gave the green light, and he said it'd help.

So, on Jeremy Jordan's 40th birthday, I'm posting this in hopes it will SOMEHOW get to him, and he shall give us his blessed green light and we shall return to Assisi, the roots of Santa Fe and Newsies and Jeremy Jordan's career.

Know that when I talk about Italy I mean that it's the santa fe to my jack kelly, the france to my noel gruber, the ukraine to my mischa bachinski. I am a simple american kid who knows only the aesthetic of the country but god I'll sing a bone-chilling ballad about wanting to to there.

he is really freaking cute, and anyone who’s mad about that opinion can fight these fists

AND we’ve actually found another character I can go on a history rant about!!!! I love history rants!!!! let us begin, my dudes.

so, historically, itey’s a nickname, just like all of the newsies have. it is, however, less to do with his actual name or tendencies, and more of a nod to his heritage in an insulting way. ‘itey’ is short for italian, and frankly, it’s a bit disgusting that disney (or a fan, I don’t know how we got his name specifically) thought it was ok to name him this, but whatever. what’s done is done, I guess.

considering that this was what the other newsies called him, it’s pretty safe to assume that when he first became a newsie, he either spoke with a noticeable accent, or he had difficulty with the english language. we can come to this conclusion because if he didn’t have any trouble or tells, then he would have hidden his accent and background entirely. new immigrants were often not treated with respect, and could be heavily persecuted for their cultures (see, I say this like things have changed. they have not.)

plus, castle garden (the new york immigration center until 1890) is in manhattan’s battery, which puts itey and his family in the right place at the right time.

taking all of this in, it becomes even more noticeable that manhattan was ALSO home to one of the biggest centers of italian culture to exist outside of italy: the lower manhattan districts, where “little italy” and other hives of culture like mulberry st. even better- little italy and the surrounding traditionally italian neighborhoods are near what? the bowery, and, subsequently, the distribution window of the world. coincidence? I think tf not.

so here’s what we got:

itey immigrated with his family (we’re going to say he’s got three siblings, all sisters younger than him, based off of averages and really what I would want to see) in the early to mid 1880s, when he was little. he becomes a manhattan newsie sometime before 1899, after growing up in an italian household and primarily italian neighborhood, and because of this, he struggles. let’s say someone like race takes him under his wing (because I’m a sucker for a slightly happier story), but he becomes friends, real friends, with sniper. he sells to the italian people, because it’s easier for him to endear himself to them, even in english.

really, what I’m trying to say here is that, of all people, newsies like itey deserve ALL the love, because they represent real people and real stories and real struggles. that’s it. thanks for coming to my ted talk.

Winx Musical Casting -The Winx and the Trix

So, yknow how there's those extremely underrated winx stage musicals in the early 2000s in Italy and The Netherlands? What if we brought a production over to broadway? WELL, i've combined my winx fan braincell and my theatre kid braincell and created a casting. HERE YA GO HERES THE GORLS! (the boys will come later)

Bloom: Mallory Maedke

Mallory's mostly well known for being an alternate and the dance captain for the North American premiere (Chicago, Edmonton, Cambridge, and St. Paul) and Broadway production of Six the Musical. She has such an amazing voice that I feel like she could kill whatever material is in the show, both acting and singing material. Her dancing? Amazing. She was the dance captain for a reason.

Stephanie's credits include: Katherine in the national tour of Newsies and Lois Lane/Bianca in the 2019 Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate, and Autumn on Zoey's Extrodinary Playlist. Her character has been described as having an "adorable flower child meets young Kristin Chenoweth vibe" and if that doesn't describe Stella perfectly? In everything I've seen her in, she just radiates stella energy.

I've seen her as Boleyn and she is FIERCE! She's also a short queen which definitely reenforces the short!Musa headcanon lets goooo

Renee's credits include: Regina George in Mean Girls. She's a Jimmy award winner and is currently releasing music. From what I've seen of her, she's SO talented. Her voice is KILLER. *it also reenforces the Belter!Icy pipeline so hell yeah* She's played a role similar to this so I think she could do a really good job as icy.

Lowkey faked his own death. There was a bad fire in the apartment building where he lived with his family, and quite a few people didn't make it out. Once the fire died down, he got just close enough to watch everyone go through the rubble. He saw his parents find what they believed to be his body and realized he could be free. He never looked back

Doesn't talk about life before. He's scared he’ll have to go back to his parents if they find out he’s alive. 

If he thinks he sees his parents, he’ll duck into an alley or hide somewhere until they’re gone

It’s not them everytime, but he has seen them. Turns out, he’s got a little brother now… He hopes they treat him better

He tried to introduce himself to his brother once when he was alone. He panicked a bit and just ended up awkward trying to sell a pape

Panicked when someone asked his name for the first time after running away. He was so close to saying “Adam” but totally stuttered

Jack is the only one he won’t flirt with for some reason

Despite all the flirting, he’s not all that interested in finding a partner

Does anyone who is well versed in what names mean & things like that have any clue why the last names for The Jacobs are substituted 4 Baum sometimes ? Like in Papermill they called Esther Jacobs 'Mrs. Baum' & in Newsies Italy they had Baum as Davey & Les' last names
