you laughed, your husband was so silly it melted your heart.

you rested your head on sherlock's chest, bed hair framing your face perfectly.

the sight of you in such a state made sherlock's heart flutter and fall in love with you all over again.

he held your hand close to his face, watching as the ring on your finger glimmered in the soft sunlight.

then he gently placed both of your hands down as you snuggled into one another.

soon enough, you two had fallen back asleep in no time due to the warmth you provided for each other.

FirstLove, Again...

Can your remember your first love? Your first Kiss? Your first “I love You” and you really understood what it meant? Ahh yes, I remember mine and it was breath taking. I remember him being sick  and didn’t come to school for two whole days. I was ruined and I sat at his desk using his notebook for my classwork. When he return to school he saw all my little love notes and all the class notes he had missed. We were inseparable in school but never did much of anything outside of class. His mom thought I was too black. Maybe we’d still be something sweet if things were different. Maybe, maybe not, but that love affair was the blueprint for what was to come and all I did was put those memories in a book and on the shelf.

Its crazy when you really put things into perspective. Your next relationship after your “first love” (if he isn’t your first forever love) is the ideal boyfriend. He’s the one you think you should fall in love with. The responsible guy with good credit or the sexy bearded guy with the degree. You never revisit those memories you put up on the shelf concerning your first love. Its like having baby number two and reading new mommy books when you have a blueprint right at home in a diaper and a onesie. Why do we forget the first guy that ever made us feel important or happy being us? He didn’t have to have good credit and a beard, man he just loved the shit out your crazy ass and that got you through some of the toughest times of your life. It was a love with no conditions. It was special and carefree. You had no responsibilities at all. All you had to do was go to school and be great and he was part of that! He was there when you said you wanted to go to school for music. He was there at graduation. He held your hand through the park and walked you home, even said it was his fault for breaking curfew so you would get in too much trouble. (or so he thought) He was your best friend, and he didn’t entertain other girls, not because he couldn’t but because he chose to love YOU.

Remember how you felt when you guys walked away from each other to pursue adulthood? Remember that piece of you that said damn, is this what being a grown up feels like? Well it isn’t. Being an adult starts in your mind, and with age comes the strength and courage to accomplish some really amazing things. So lets stop choosing cool “adults” to explore love with and lets begin to assess the heart and the maturity of his mind to love the socks of you, only to rub your feet and chat about your day. Let this new love be a first love kinda love.

Trust me, it will all make sense at the wedding, then at the housewarming party and then the baby shower.  I promise.
