Hello witches!
I bring you the 2023 calendar for the remaining months  ☆゚. * ・ 。゚
How are you holding up mid-mercury retrograde?
This year I just added the Planet Oppositions because there are a few of them in the later months of the year and I wanted to research them.
This is a Northern Hemisphere calendar and specific dates may vary due to different time zones, so always do your research for your specific region.
And if you find any mistakes or anything do add it if you reblog, so I can keep it in mind for future calendars!
See you in the full moon!!

2024 - The Year of the Dragon: A Majestic Journey Begins Shaina Tranquilino January 4, 2024
Tumblr media
In Chinese culture, each year is associated with a zodiac animal, which is believed to have certain qualities and characteristics that influence the events and lives of people born in that year. Amongst these twelve animals, one holds a special place of honor and reverence – the mighty dragon. Known for its power, wisdom, and good fortune, the Year of the Dragon is met with great anticipation and excitement by millions around the world. Let's delve into this awe-inspiring year and discover what makes it so extraordinary.
1. Symbolism and Significance:
The dragon symbolizes many virtues deeply valued in Chinese culture. It represents strength, prosperity, wisdom, success, and luck. Dragons are often seen as guardians or protectors who bring harmony and blessings to those they encounter. With such auspicious associations, individuals born in the Year of the Dragon are considered particularly fortunate.
2. Personality Traits:
People born under the sign of the dragon are known for their ambitious nature and unwavering determination. They possess strong leadership abilities and tend to stand out from the crowd due to their confident demeanour. Dragons are highly intelligent and innovative thinkers, always seeking new challenges to conquer. Their charisma captivates others effortlessly.
3. Historical Significance:
The Year of the Dragon has a rich historical significance that transcends cultural boundaries. In ancient Chinese dynasties, emperors were believed to be direct descendants of dragons; thus, this zodiac sign was closely associated with imperial power and authority. Throughout history, many significant events have occurred during dragon years, making them even more intriguing.
4. Economic Prosperity:
Just as dragons bring good fortune in folklore tales, their presence in a zodiac year is often accompanied by economic growth and prosperity. People believe that starting new ventures or making important investments during a dragon year can yield favourable outcomes. Businesses thrive, careers flourish, and financial abundance becomes more attainable.
5. Celebrations and Festivities:
The arrival of the Year of the Dragon is marked by vibrant celebrations and traditional festivities that span over several weeks. The most notable amongst these is the Spring Festival, commonly known as Chinese New Year. Streets are adorned with colourful decorations, firework displays light up the night sky, and families gather to share special meals, exchange gifts, and honour their ancestors.
As we embark on the Year of the Dragon, a sense of excitement permeates the air. This majestic creature brings hope, prosperity, and new beginnings for all who embrace its energy. Whether you were born in this auspicious year or not, it's an opportunity to tap into your inner strength, courageously pursue your dreams, and seek out the limitless possibilities that lie ahead. Zodiac Dragons part 1
Because it’s the year of the dragon, I’ve been thinking about those creatures a lot. Thinking of a drawing challenge for myself, I wanted to combine my western zodiac as well as my chinese zodiac, including elements, and design a dragon inspired by it. In my case, this was a bit of an easy one, since I’m taurus, as well as the ox.
My zodiac mashup:
Taurus : earth
Ox : fire
Thinking of the elements involved with my combination, I thought
“Earth.. Dirt and clay.. Fire. Firing clay in a kiln to make beautiful pottery.”
Taking that idea, I designed this beauty. The tail is raw clay, which then gets fired, turning into obsidian, then revealing itself as willow printed porcelain. I really loved painting all the different textures. Taking the raw clay, adding notes of it being molded and sculpted. Indications of fingers digging into the dirt, scrape marks, cuts, and smoothed out parts. Then the dancing fire crawling along its tail, transforming the material.
Obsidian is such an interesting texture. It’s smooth and jagged, ripples flowing through it, chunks get broken off and show all the different directions the lava rock flowed. It was very interesting to paint. Then finally the porcelain. Shiny white with a vibrant blue for the hand painted pattern.
Since I wanted the clay to be this nice warm reddish brown, I kept thinking of the Utah/Arizona deserts. The mesa formations. I wanted to incorporate that for the background.
I’m currently working on the process video!
I’m thinking her name could be Terra.

I guess it's technically not year of the rabbit yet but I don't give a shit. 99 Ranch already got the rabbit themed red wall hangings set out. Everyone else is celebrating New Year already, might as well kick off festivities early. Celebrate New Years twice. why not.

Those born in the Year of the Dragon are said to be energetic, charismatic, and natural-born leaders. They are often seen as powerful, brave, and full of vitality. Dragons are also believed to be intelligent, ambitious, and strongly desire success. The Year of the Dragon comes around every 12 years, and it is associated with good fortune and intense energy. People born in the Year of the Dragon are believed to be blessed with good luck and are often held in high esteem.
The water dragon's characteristics are influenced by the element of water, which is associated with adaptability and flexibility. Water dragons are believed to be insightful, perceptive, and more open to compromise than their counterparts. They are often considered to be more empathetic and understanding, with a strong ability to navigate through different situations and emotions. Water dragons may display a greater sense of intuition and emotional intelligence compared to other dragons. They are thought to be adept at understanding the feelings and motivations of others, making them good mediators and problem solvers. It's important to note that Chinese astrology and the zodiac are deeply rooted in traditional beliefs and cultural practices, and many people find joy in exploring and sharing these ancient traditions.
