Is there an estimated release time for the Bittersweet Director's Cut?

We were aiming for before the end of November but I'm thinking at this point to give us enough time to reallyyyyy do all the promo I want to do for it, I might bump it into December and get that good Christmas synergy?

As much as I want it out, I don't want to squander a good build. If I really worked my ass off, we could break 1k in the premiere. I would love that.

Maybe I'll do a stream to break down some of my promo plans and we can workshop the whole process together and you guys can get some insight into what goes into this sort of thing and also give suggestions!

I want to not only promote the new stuff, but also chapter 2 and 3, across all of my social media. So good capcut templates, a new trailer, still images, etc etc and some other creative ideas.

Getting a few weeks of promo will really help.

i use photopea!! it's an online and free alternative to photoshop that is available on both desktop and mobile <3

i have not been able to get a new laptop due to some personal circumstances, so i just have my android phone to do stuff on, and photopea has been really helpful for me!

i also use some supplementary sites, such as:

remove.bg — for making pngs! ( it works amazingly 99% of the time, but it doesn't work for comic pages unless you have a pretty uniform background, which is why i don't really make pngs of comic book characters... because i'm lazy. also going to link this tutorial i had made here! )

ezgif — for some basic gif editing here and there + for conversion of files

photomosh — for applying some really cool effects! it's especially amazing for turning photos into gifs through their effects

and so on! i also rely on pinterest, deviantart, dafont, and this very hellsite to find editing resources (fonts, pngs, templates, texture overlays, etc) as well as inspiration!

video editing software can sometimes come in handy if there's a certain effect you want to pull off (especially with transitions), because you can always convert gifs to videos and vice versa; i used to have adobe premiere for that, but on android, capcut has been really great :)

i don't use it much but canvas is pretty neat too!

not fic related but i know you are an editor (i follo you on insta!!) but i wanted to ask you how did you start editing and most importantly how did you learn? i’ve always wanted to start editing bc i just have sooo many ideas but i can never figure out where to start and what programs to use. what would you recommend?

ahh omg yes!!! AN EDITING QUESTION god i havent talked about editing in so long even tho im trying to get back into itskldjf

(for those who don't know, i do have an editing insta and tt acc (though i'm not active on tt)!!! @/thae.rchxr on insta and thaerchxr on tt)

i started editing in 2020 during quarantine, and on capcut! i think that it's a pretty good starting spot, especially because it's free and it allows you to understand what you really want to make with your edits/what kinds of edits you want to make - velocities, lyric edits, transition ones, etc

i have to say i wouldn't recommend templates and i'm really not a fan of them. that's my only neg abt capcut now, even though i don't use it... yea i've seen too much of these template apps literally stealing the hard work of editors and it sucks

but anyway!! i currently use after effects, and have used it since early 2022, however it's a computer program, and - though you can pirate it and there are lots of videos online on how to do that - it also costs money if you don't wanna pirate (i got it as a christmas gift so i have the paid version but there's really no difference)

no matter what program you use, TUTORIALS!! youtube is your best friend. i have a youtube channel actually but i mainly post transition inspo instead of tutorials, however if you want some recs (for ae, i unfortunately don't know a lot of tutorial channels for other apps), i learned so much from klqvsluv, ae.chambb, and clewxdre on youtube! and, of course, lauren. she's kind of a mini celebrity in the editing communitysdklf - and there are so many more as well

if it's transition edits you're specifically trying to get into, def try and master the basics - zoom in's, out's, slide left/right, shakes and turbs if that's the kind of edit you wanna make. but honestly, the entire thing is just practice practice practice!! even though i only started editing on ae 2 years ago, i used to make edits, like, every day. i was obsessed. i would wake up and spend hours on edits, trying new transitions and new plugins and effects, and i think it really paid off :)

another thing you can do is attempt to remake edits! most editors will be completely alright with it (as long as you don't steal, ofc) and many even put out project files (i do have a few on my payhip- linked in my insta lmfaodjsf shameless self promo) that you can look at to see how they did certain transitions. remakes are good because it takes out the factor of having to figure out what transitions you want to make and lets you focus entirely on the technical aspect - which will then make it easier for you to pull off the transitions you think of yourself!

so, to conclude this ramble bc i can never shut up - i think i would definitely recommend ae if you have a computer/laptop. but i also think that other editing apps (the ones i see most often are videostar, alight motion, and capcut - all of which are mobile apps) can make absolutely incredible edits. i have friends who use each of these different editing apps and i know they can make some of the most mindblowing edits, even though i personally have no idea how to use vs or am lmaodsjf

so it's up to you! look at some tutorials, don't feel too intimidated, and go with the layout that makes the most sense to you. then just don't be afraid of making a "bad" edit bc let's be real the first edits are alwaysss shitty. i cringe when looking back at the edits all the way to last summer. but that's the beauty of it, because you can see your editing style and skill grow over time, and then you can eventually make edits that you'll be really proud of <3 i wish you the best of luck on your editing journey!! it's honestly so fun once you get into the swing of it :)

HI NONNIE <33 no worries, it hasn’t been asked before!! also i kinda suck at explaining so bear with me…i put the explanation under a cut because this is kinda long

before turning any videos or sequence of pictures into a gif i edit them on the app epik because the filters and effects are really cool

then i use the app gif maker - make videos to gifs (you can also make pics to gifs on it) because it let’s you download them at a low/mid quality and tumblr doesn’t doesn’t let you put any gifs over 10 MB or something like that 😣 the downside is that the app does have ads and if you’re using pictures the maximum you can put without paying is like 5/6 i think??

but if you mean how to make gifs like this or ones that have a bunch of pictures framed, aside from the apps above, i use…

1. website background remover

2. ibispaint x to move things around (all for the template only like the frame)

3. screen record clips off youtube/get pics off pinterest and after all that i put everything together on capcut and use the layering system on there so everything is beneath the frame, then i plug the final video into gif maker </3

i’m still pretty new to gif making though!! so there might be more simple apps/ways of doing this

I dream to be used as material for other people’s content.

A dream of mine ever since i started posting online isn’t to get internet famous, or become a millionaire off of my content. But to bring joy and to have my stuff get used in countless of projects more or less without my permission. I want to get to a point where what i make ends up as one of the first results on Google images so thousands of young creators get to right click save image on the fruits of my labor.

I want my art to be featured in a 13 year old’s vent AMVs of their comfort character to a song by Evanescence or Skillet, i want to have an illustration i’m deeply proud of be used as a Russian teen’s profile picture on VK, or a German kid’s desktop wallpaper. I want clips of my cosplays to get used in people’s Spanish written fanfictions on Tiktok. 

I want videos of me screenshotted and gifed into reaction images and have them posted all over obscure message boards, or to have a soundbyte be used in people’s Youtube poops. I want the music i make to get reuploaded into nightcore with a picture of a sad anime girl or Sans with press-on nails. I want my animation memes to get put into top 10s or to feature in a cringe compilation with someone’s lavender angle wolf furry oc giving me constructive criticism on my work. I want people on Instagram to make thirst traps slowly panning up my art with capcut. 

I want a teenager who uses bun/bunself on Tumblr to make flower crown edits of my creations. I want my NSFW to be featured as clickbait in a 24 year old man’s first custom let’s play thumbnail. I want to be featured in a British stranger’s Pinterest board. I want to see my doodles used as templates in a meme generator. 

I want to have a French girl in their tweens use one of my shitposts as a cover for a their Lemon Y/N X character Wattpad fanfiction. I want my art printed onto a cake with happy 9th birthday Daniella written on with icing. I want a 36 year old woman on Deviantart to crudely draw a vore belly with MS paint onto a picture i created.

I want to be unknowingly helping an American college student who need to fill a slide on their 10 slide PowerPoint presentation about dolphins or to be the backdrop for a 17 year old person with autism’s announcement of their week long hiatus from Amino. I want to have my art printed out and plastered onto someone’s wall with stickers and tape. I want to be used by people online who want to have fun or who simply want to create on the internet.

However, i do NOT want my art to be stolen by people who claim that they made it, or to have it be used in AI datasets by tech bros who specifically want to make a profit. I don’t want multi-million dollar clothing brands to steal my art to use as merch. I don’t want my art being used to promote shady pyramid schemes to children. I don’t want my art to be edited into CP, or used to promote hate speech. I don’t want my art to be exploited unethically for profit or clout.

Whenever i see something that i have created being used by someone else: i feel a sense of glee that is incredibly particular. I have a folder dedicated to this very thing, of wild instances of people using what i have made unknowingly, all titled ether with the title of the creation or me at that moment expressing the sheer joy i felt seeing something i have created be used or mentioned. It makes me feel like i’m giving something to the world, that what i do isn’t for nothing and that people DO appreciate what i make. It’s a feeling that i adore to my very core. 

What i have created has been in Deviantart submissions, Youtube videos, Reddit posts, Tiktoks, Discord profiles, Wattpad thumbnails, Amino, VK, News articles and sites i’ve never even heard of before! Heck, some of the things i mentioned in this post are based off of ACTUAL occurrences! I won’t tell which of these happened to me, however. That is a secret for me to keep.

In the second template you've not only got audio playing but it switches to a different image and song. Do you mind explaining how you accomplished these in a step by step guide kind of way?

Oh it's nothing complicated actually! I just edited that video before uploading it on canva and putting it on that frame. I edited it on my phone using capcut. But you can use any video editors you have.

I don't think any app should be allowed to send notifications without asking honestly. Like I know they do ask but that's not what I meant. My issue is specifically Duolingo and CapCut cause I deactivated the notifications in settings of the Duolingo app AND I KEEP GETTING THEM. I deactivated them all. What the fuck. I feel like I'm being a little bit... I don't know the word but they're being too insistent. Duolingo is like a nice guy™ except he's not calling me a whore he's just being annoying and manipulative with his "duolingo is so sad you're about to break your streak" bullshit and also I can't wish him to die because it's a company and not a person. And I don't remember CapCut ever fucking asking me if I wanted to get notifications in whatever stupid template is trending and all that shit.

Like. Okay. I get Duolingo because learning app and set timer. But what the fuck CC, you're a video editor, why do you need to contact me at random times of the day.

It's so fucking annoying. I'm trying to listen yo music or watch a show on my phone why are you lowering the volume of it just to go some fucking "ding" and tell me I need to use the app right now. I hate you.

I'm not going to stop using either because I'm attached and I need them but that doesn't make it any less fucking annoying that they have volume. I guess that's my main issues honestly. Ty for asking!!! Since i gif using my phone i use capcut! Ill crop the video in my ohone editor, take it to color it in capcut and sharpen it, then ill make a new template with a plain background i made in adobe express, add some stickers and text templates that fit the vibe im going for, and boom!! Oh well that and i use a gif editor to finalize the gif and choose the speed i want <33 if you want a more detailed explanation lmk!

HELLO 2023

I know that I've started this blog 7 mo.s ago and it remains barren.

And maybe this is an act of self-preservation. But just like how I tripped last Friday and lost all my balance last which ripped my newly bought jogging pants and injured my left thumb, I would rather think that I dedicated those months in healing. I meant that in a literal sense!

I had terrible acne breakout after I had series of unfortunate events. As such, not only did I muster my courage to go on consultation (which was luckily free and quite convenient) I've been also making an effort to live a healthier lifestyle -- I've gotten back to walking to work, I've been regularly consuming fresh veggies, taking in vitamins and supplements. I must be reminded to set up few appointments with doctors and I'm mustering my energy (and my wallet) before I go see them which I hopefully be able to accomplish this month!

I've also started stuff and established quite few more routines for the past months:

🌱 Buy, prepare, and eat more greens and fruits plush nuts! Taking in supplements and vitamins!

🌱 Oiling my hair, massaging them, putting on serum for healthy hair.

🌱 Building my own wardrobe, filling up with clothes that i actually like. Buying garments and other stuff which will help me wearing clothes that makes me feel confident and happy be more sustainable.

🌱Started my bokashi composting!

As of late, I've been customizing my notion workspace. I am thankful that i found very interesting templates so i could focus more on customizing to suit my personal taste and inner workings.

I also have personal video project using Capcut which supposed to be due last Christmas. I've decided that instead of rushing it, I want to ensure that this work will better represent 2022 to persons I'm dedicating the work for. Also I've rediscovered that joy of videoediting and excitement of learning new tool!

Overall, I'm excited and I could feel myself constantly growing! so here goes 2023!

SOCIAL MEDIA ALGORITHMS AND CONTENT IMPROVEMENT

I feel like talking about different social medias algorithms and updating people on how they could be used to improve on the viewership

(These are all ideas I’ve seen from others and I’ve used myself)

Some works better for others and some don’t the whole point about being a content creator is trial and error.

I also want you to keep in mind that views and likes do not define your content just because algorithms now a day are pushed by money. Since ads and primos for money are becoming more and more relevant it’s best to try to always try something new with your content.

Sticking to trends

Developing your niche, along with side niche.

Interacting with fans and other content creators

Making sure you have proper promotional strategies

Understanding aspects of the app you are trying to grow on.

Tiktok

When it comes to tiktok it is one of the best applications to be on in recent years. Everyone uses it every day and it’s always changing. It takes the least amount of work to go viral and to create a video.

It does have its faults, you can get stuck at a certain view count, you could be shadow banned if you have ideals that are not to tiktok standards. There’s s also a possibility that tiktok just doesn’t like you because of race, disability, beliefs.

Even with these problems there is still ways to create a cult following on the app.

Content Ideas

Check out trending audios and create tiktoks around it. Seeing how people use that audio.

Creating your own spin on the trends.

I know specifically as a vtuber there is certain trends you can’t do, good example is dancing. But using the control+ spin wheel on your mouse to spin your character around, doing the shoulder dance, or editing your vtuber face on videos can be a good alternative and add something new to a trend.

Using videos editors like capcut is also good to spice up the look of your videos. Capcut I suggest the most since it’s simple to use, has plenty of tutorials, is free and tiktok is partnering with them. If you check the bottom left of a tiktok that is using captcuts editor you can see and click the Editor and it will send you to the app giving you an easy to use template for tiktoks.

Try asking questions, giving your opinions and asking the viewers on theirs, try and give your viewers a way in to the conversation. Use tools like the poll system on tiktok

If people comment questions or ideas use them for videos. Same goes for if you’re talking to friend and an idea pops up. Use the notes app on your phone to keep track of ideas to use. They can pop up any time .

Another app i suggest to spice up your story and tiktok video posts is Canva.

Canva is a simple to use graphic design program that lets you use free artwork, and Copyright free music. It has an easy to use UI and editing feature. You can even add in your own music and artwork. Also there is no watermark to be seen on your work in the free version.

Also check your analytics often to see who you appeal to snd when. Me personally my tiktok analytics say that it’s best to post around 5pm since that’s when most of my followers are active. I also can see the age range of people and gender which can help me adjust my content scheduling so I can reach the community I am wishing for.

You can check each tiktoks analytics on the bottom right with the 3 dots or go to creators tools on the top right of your profile for a full account analyzation.

Tiktok Stories

Always use the story feature to update your community on what’s going on with you, what tiktoks you have posted, what tiktoks your mutuals have posted that could benefit your community. Post about upcoming events, works in progress of your project, or just daily life stuff.

The story feature is a booster for your tiktok content, it ends up on peoples fyps and on the top of of everyone’s notifications. Seeing you will give them more of a will to check your content.

Tiktok Now

Tiktok has just recently added tiktok nows which is just Snapchat….

But I say hopping on new features in an app is a way to be ahead, you can start the trends early, you can get the views early.

Posting wips of what you’re doing, what you’re eating, pets, etc can give you a more personal feel. Lets the viewer see a different side of you.

If you’re a faceless streamer you can always cover the camera and post the main picture, you can also use it to show off your persona if you are able to take a picture of yourself through another screen, taking pictures of yourself through tablets or computers .

TIKTOK LIVES

Tiktok lives is developing the most and is a east way for people to support you. Just chatting, gaming art etc. Live with people and having a 1-1 interactive experience. Make sure you have good lighting and quiet place. If you are a vtuber or faceless make sure you have 3k followers so you can unlock the mobile screen recording feature.

This can also be used for easier gaming. I love this feature especially if you are streaming elsewhere such as twitch.

I suggest going live on tiktok at the same time as twitch or YouTube so you can suggest people to join through the link in your bio if they want the full experience . Have tiktok feel like a peak to the real stream.

I also highly suggest to have tiktok exclusive streams just for tiktok because it will feel to much self promo or boring if it’s just ur monitor or your model there saying just go to twitch just go to twitch. The whole point of having multiple socials is to yes recycle content but also add something special so people have a reason to check you out there as well.

Making friends

Making friends or mutuals on tiktok Is easier to do then most platforms since the algorithm is so tight knit to your personal interests. Using the retweet feature is a good way to find out which mutuals like things that you enjoy. Check out your notification section and see who’s liking posts you’ve retweeted. If you see someone there often then start sending tiktoks to their dms. If they respond with likes, hearts, comments then strike a convo about said tiktok.

Some creators that are in your niche may have ideas you would like to dive into yourself so asking them questions about it can strike a friendship.

A good example from my personal experience is my love for vtubing, I am an illustrator who has no idea how to rig so by making friends who know how to rig it can give me a new perspective on how to cut up my art while also having me gain a new friend. They also benefit from learning about the artistic side of creating s model.

Simple likes, comments, retweets and duets can be an easy way to support someone you love and can create a bond.

Miscellaneous

A few little ideas to make your tiktok pop

Pinning your socials, promotions or topics of the videos to your comments section. You can also add a question or start a debate.

Posting a tiktok when you post s YouTube video or are going live

. Use that going live count down sticker for the stream. This can be used for twitch and YouTube streams as well , you just need to clarify that the stream will happen there.

Post a tiktok 2 hours before going live promoting it then delete it after the live is over so it’s still a promotion but it doesn’t clog your feed.

Once you hit 1000 followers on tiktok PUT A LINK IN YOUR BIO.

It can be commissions, your YouTube, your twitch, your link tree. I don’t care have something there for people to check out if they want to support you outside of tiktok.

Use only up toe 7 tiktok hashtags, using to many can overwhelm the algorithm and you want it to put your video in the category it’s best suited for.

Use comments to create videos. Friends and viewers will comment questions or continuations of posts so dueting the comment to continue the conversation is free content.

Post at least twice a day. It’s suggested to post 3 times a day but that also can invoke burnout fast, do at least 1-2 and update your story, tiktok now and possibly go live so people will know you’re still active. As long as you are constant with your content you will see results.

Go live at least twice a week, it does not have to be long 2 hours is more then enough.

Make drafts of content ideas so you can post throughout the week

Save ideas, trends to your bookmarks to look back at later when making bulls of content to post throughout the week.

Use content from out side platforms such as instagram. Instagrams camera is way better when it comes to showing off more detailed products like art pieces.
