I haven't watched moominvalley s4 yet but I'm gonna be real with you, if you expected snufmin to be an explicit and developed part of the story, the story being once again a reprise of stories that were already told in prior iterations, you were setting yourself up for disappointment from the start and it's nobody's fault but your own. You were not queerbaited. You were not misled. You simply chose not to remember that moominco fundamentally does not change, iterate, nor develop on the original moomin stories in any major capacity. This wasn't a surprise in any of the media prior, and shouldn't be going forward.

I will also say that while snufkin and moomin's relationship is predicated on a romantic one (her and atos,) it also important to remember that that relationship did not work out and Tove eventually saw less and less of herself in moomintroll, and she never explicitly showed them together, so moominco won't either. She might have wanted to at some point or another, but for better or for worse she simply did not. I know how much some of you want them to be together, but it is not the fault of anyone working on the show that you didn't see them kiss or w/e and you can't judge the quality of s4 based solely on not getting your ship on. If your problem is that they once again did not advance iterate or change the story, while that's a valid complaint, it shouldn't be a surprise, and shouldn't be taken out on anyone but moominco's policies regarding their IP, not gutsy or any of the other staff involved. You should be fair and judge the season based on its quality itself rather than how it should've gone, since it was only ever going to go one way.
