Things they do when they're in love but haven't realized it yet
Characters; Aether, Albedo, Alhaitham, Ayato, Childe, Cyno, Diluc, Dottore, Itto, Neuvillete, Thoma, Pantalone.
Warnings; GN!Reader, mentions of pretty/handsome, cologne/perfume, the notebook (that movie killed me It's a warning I can't), mentions of crying, mentions of past injuries, annoying kids, lowk stalking in childe's part LOOL
under the cut!
Aether- Notices every physical and mental detail about you more than the average person.
He notices the way there’s a slight limp in your walk due to a past injury, and he can notice when you also try to hide it.
He notices how each day you always try a new hairstyle because you thrive for praise and compliments. Of course because you’re so loved, everyone compliments you, and he notices the way that when he does too, you’re more flustered than usual.
He knows you start to tap your finger down on any platform whenever you’re feeling nervous or even zoning out. He also notices that when you get annoyed, you bite your lip to hold back anything.
He knows that whenever you’re lectured at or given a talking-down to, you try to hide your tears, but the side of your lip trembles. He knows that once your alone within your own privacy, you let the tears fall. He’s literally seen you catch them with your mouth once.
He notices that whenever he gives you some sort of gift, you’re at a loss for words and you don’t know whether you want to make the first move after months of pining.
He notices, so now maybe he can act on it.
Alhaitham- Starts to read books or watch movies/shows he’s heard you talk about.
He spends most of his time in libraries, looking around for anything that piques his interest. He notices the title of a book, something you’ve mentioned before.
You both have complete opposite tastes, but maybe romance books could do him some good.
Since then, he’s been looking around libraries for every book he’s heard you mention. He even starts to write down a list.
Shows and movies as well. On a rainy day that he stays in his home and his roommate isn’t being annoying, he likes to lounge on his couch and watch something.
He notices once again another title you’ve mentioned; The Notebook.
No hesitation, he decides to watch it, and by the end, he’s nearly crying.
“Are you crying?” His roommate asks.
“Shut up!”
At some point he brings up that he’s watched almost all the movies and read all the books you’ve mentioned and you don’t know if he was genuinely bored and did so or because he really was interested in you.
Your thoughts are answered when he asks if you want to go see a romance movie coming out.
Albedo- Starts to become mesmerized when he watches you study or work
He loves the way you look so focused- the way your nose scrunches up when you get confused at a question or really anything, or how when you feel lost, your hand moves up to your cheek as you just stare down at the question.
You’re so focused to the point that sometimes you forget he’s even there but in fully honesty- he doesn’t care. As long as he can stare at you without you noticing, he’s fine with it.
Sometimes, he forgets about his own work. You just look so pretty when you’re focused- he wishes it was on him.
At some point, the staring becomes too obvious and you look up ti find him just staring at you, and his face comes of one of surprise when he sees he’s been caught.
“W-would you like some help?” He asked, nothing your nose had scrunched up just seconds ago.
You smiled. “Yes, please.”
Ayato- Seeing you with kids makes him feel something.
He sees how you treat kids with such kindness and adoration- as if you’ve met your favourite hero. Whenever you take strolls, you love to stop by the park and push some kids on the swings; It’s to the point all the parents know you and the kids love you.
Whenever you hear a child cry, you get sad. Whenever you hear a child laugh, it makes you smile- It makes him smile too, being honest.
He loves how you’re so attentive to them, that one day when one of the kids falls and scrapes his knee and starts to cry, you’re immediately there comforting them, putting a bandaid on their knee and telling them it’ll be all better.
You pretend to play “shop” with the kids to the point even he is dragged in by one of them.
“Are you two married?” One of the children ask one day, which then causes a bombard of questions from the rest while they all say things like
“Is he nice?”
“Does he treat you well?”
“You two are sooo perfect!”
“Can he play with us more?”
Ayato only smiles at you and you smile back.
Childe- He always looks for you in a public setting
Whenever he goes out, whether it to be to run errands, go somewhere with his brother or just something for work, he always wondering if you’ll be there.
Most of the time you aren’t- it’s a small chance you’d be at a random toy shop that his brother was non-stop talking about, but he’s always on the lookout.
Parties that friends invite him too, he always asks if you’ll be there or he’ll just look for you the moment he arrives, praying and hoping to God that you’ll be there.
Maybeeee it’s stalking, but he starts to go to places he’s heard you mention in hope of seeing you. Even if it’s a place he has no reason to be at, he’ll still go.
For the first time one day, instead of him noticing you and going up to you, you’re the first to notice him and go up to him, starting a conversation.
Cyno- He always wants to make you laugh
He sucks at making jokes- he knows this, everyone knows this, but it always makes him feel warm inside whenever you let out a giggle or a loud cackle at his jokes- even If they were horrible or made sense, something about it always lightened you up.
So, even though everyone else hates it, he continues to go with them, just in hopes of hearing you giggle- it’s so cute!
He’ll even start to think of new jokes, new types of humour just for you, and he’ll always go with the ones that make you laugh the most.
He may update his whole humour for you, but who cares!
Then, he notices that you started using his own jokes, which makes him cackle just as loud as you.
Diluc- Nicknames
If anyone were to ever call Diluc something other than his name, he’d lost his shit. EVERYONE knew this, and not even Kaeya would test him- the closest he’s ever used a nickname was “Luc” and Diluc was ready to fight him.
But you, well, he just doesn’t seem to care. Whether it be Luc, Didi, Lulu, and even pookie, he’s completely fine with it.
Everyone knows he has to has something for you, but he doesn’t even realize it himself. It just brings a warm feeling to his face when he hears a nickname come out of your mouth.
Then one day, he randomly starts to call you nicknames, and you feel the same warmth he does.
Dottore- Drops anything for you
Dottore is a hard-working man. He hardly takes breaks, and he’s always up to something. So, it’s hard to speak to him on most days, that it even makes you upset as his friend.
His coworker mentions something about you being upset and he immediately puts down any work he’s holding and asks where you are. He would never do that for anyone, but you? He didn’t know why, but he just felt the need to be at your side.
He tells you to text him whenever you need something, and he’ll answer. He just won’t answer the other 100 texts from other people and continue to leave them on delivered.
You’re bored? Come work with him. You’re hungry? Go get some food together. It’s to the point that work is no longer his main priority.
You ask him one day if he’d like to go to dinner, and before you could finish your sentence about knowing he was a hard working man and was never free, he immediately says yes.
Itto- Anything that smells like you reminds him of you
Itto has a good nose- it’s a blessing and a curse.
When it comes to smelling something similar to you, whether it be your shampoo, conditioner, body wash, cologne, perfume or mist, he considers it to be a blessing.
He could be anywhere really; In a random shop, and if someone walks by and has the SLIGHTEST smell smilier to yours, he’ll almost think its you and now all he can think about is you.
It’s to the point it becomes his favourite smell, and he finds himself buying items similar.
You notice his efforts, and give him a gift one day. It was full of everything you used to smell the way you do.
He’ll use it everyday.
Neuvillete- The way you act doesn’t bother him
The Iudex was not a patient man. Anyone who acted immaturely, whether it be like a child or an insolent teenager, he’ll became so annoyed.
But you? Act however you want, he does not care. Instead, he’ll just laugh, enjoying your antics.
You’re acting like a child? Okay, not his problem, he’s fine with it. But if Furina came in here acting like a child he’d kick her out in and instant. Even if a literal child came in he’d kick them out in an instant.
He finds himself finding comfort in the way you act sometimes. He doesn’t know how to explain it, but he thinks it’s the fact he knows you’re comfortable enough near him to act the way you do.
Then one day, you decide to be calm for a day, and sit and talk with him normally, and even if it’s a change, he’s still happy nonetheless.
Thoma- Everything reminds him of you.
The flowers? They’re as pretty/handsome as you.
The window? Sometimes he imagines you’re outside.
The floor? He’ll remember both of you hiding out at parties and sitting on floors.
Money? He’ll remember the time you bought him lunch because he forgot his wallet and you refused to let him pay you back.
The sky? It brings him comfort to know you both see the same sky.
The stars? As bright as you.
He gets a gift from you one day, telling him that It reminded you of him, and he could only give a heartfelt laugh.
Pantalone- Whatever you look at, you’ll find it within your belongings in the next week.
He’s a perceptive, rich man. You may only be friends but he loves to spoil you.
He sees you staring at a necklace for over 2 seconds? Bought immediately, and of course he’ll place it around your neck.
Trinkets you think look cool? The next time you both hang out at your hose, you’ll mysteriously find it within your home.
If you have an event coming up and he hears you describe what you’d like to wear, he’ll be looking through every store and buying whatever is similar to the description.
He stares at flowers, wondering if he should give them to you or if it was weird. He’s heard you talk about wanting flowers once, but maybe not now
Yet he is met with you holding out the same flowers to him 2 days later, stating you saw him staring at them for quite a while.

Wait, you're engaged?!
Synopsis: you two are engaged, congrats!! how does he share the news with others?
Characters: alhaitham; diluc ragnvindr.
Warnings: gender neutral!reader, fluff, crack, this is actually more crack than fluff oh well, diluc and kaeya are brothers.
A/N: this is the third draft I wrote in two hours. IS THIS WHAT'S LIKE TO HAVE MOTIVATION????
It all started with a simple question about your well-being coming from Kaveh.
"So, how have they been lately?" was what the architect had asked, while shaking the elemental dice in his hand. He was playing a TCG match against Cyno, not an uncommon occurrence when the 4ggravate group of friends get together at Lambad's Tavern.
"Oh, my fiancée is doing just fine, I guess they're in a bit more energetic mood than usual." was what Alhaitham had answered, nonchalant as if he was talking about the weather and hadn't just dropped a huge bomb just like that.
The cheeky bastard is actually hiding his smirk with his wine cup, totally satisfied with himself at the shocked looks everyone has now.
"WHAT DID YOU SAY?!?!"
"Kaveh, please don't yell, you're making my ears hurt!"
"A-Ah! Sorry, Tighnari..."
"It seems like you didn't get a single dice of the elements you needed, your luck is truly something to be researched about."
"Wha-?! You...! Ah, no, wait, who cares about that?!"
I'm telling you, the guy is doing all he can to surpress the grin threatening to appear on his face.
No one was expecting to hear that, heck they didn't even know Alhaitham had bought a ring in the first place????
Dude how come you don't share these life changing plans with your homies?!
He shares the tale of how he had proposed to you... And let's just say Kaveh's romantic side was not happy about how it happened.
"WHAT DO YOU MEAN YOU PROPOSED WHILE YOU TWO WERE LOUNGING IN THE LIVING ROOM???"
"Kaveh, too loud!"
"S-Sorry!"
Much to Kaveh's dismay, Alhaitham didn't make any extravagant gesture or big preparations.
It was just you and him, in the comfort of your home and it just felt right to pop the question at that moment.
What no one, not even you, knew is that the confident, smart and aloof scribe had not actually planned to propose to you like that at all.
Ever since he had bought the ring months ago, Alhaitham had devised so many different ways on how to do it, always thinking about which scenario would make you the happiest.
But when he had you laid down on his lap, spounting your usual nonsense just to try to get a reaction out of him because you were bored, it simply felt... right to do it right then and there.
Make no mistake, he may not have shown, but his hand was shaking when he pulled the small box out of his pocket, he had to thank Lesser Lord Kusanali for allowing his voice to not come out shaky.
Alhaitham's cockiness aside, Cyno, Tighnari and Kaveh are all genuinely very happy at the unexpected, but positive news.
"Let's order some bread, then."
"Bread? Why do you want bread all of a sudden?"
"So we can offer a toast to the future spouses... Get it? Toast? As in-"
"Yes Cyno, we get it!"
Ahhh Diluc, my sweet Batman of Mondstadt... He had always thought that the best course of action was to keep everyone at arm's length, not only for his sake, but for other people as well.
Now, as he gazes at the beautiful ring on your finger, he can only laugh at how naive he was for thinking he would be able to do that during his whole life.
On the next day after he had proposed to you, every customer in Angel's Share can see Master Diluc acting rather... odd.
He seems... I don't know, lighter? His expression doesn't look so serious anymore... Wait, is he... smiling?!
Needless to say, everyone at the tavern is dying to know what happened to the tycoon of the wine industry, but no one dares to ask him directly...
...no one but a certain cavalry captain of the Knights of Favonious, that is.
"My, someone is in a good mood today. Did something nice happened lately, Master Diluc?"
"Here's your Death After Noon, Kaeya."
"...Okay, something must have happened for you to prepare my drink before I even ordered it."
After much poking and prying from Kaeya, Diluc finally relents, just so the pestering would stop.
It's a lie, he is actually feeling ecstatic to be able to share the news with someone.
Everyone and their grandma knew about your relationship with Diluc of course, it's a bit hard not to when you are dating the uncrowned king of Mondstadt himself, despite you two not making a public announcement of being together.
So, before he could even tell Kaeya that he had proposed to you, the captain already suspected that that was the reason for his brother's sudden change of behavior.
Even so, that doesn't stop a genuine smile to appear on Kaeya's face as he congratulates Diluc.
"It's about time! I was starting to wonder how many more years you were going to make me wait, before I had the chance be your best man in your wedding."
"Who said you're going to be my best man?"
"Oh, come on. Don't tell me you've forgotten our promise to be each other's best man when we were younger?"
"...I'm surprised you still remember that.
What Diluc wasn't aware at that moment was that a certain bard had eavesdropped "accidentaly" listened to his private conversation with the cavalry captain.
It was such great news, the bard couldn't help but let it escape during the drunk conversations he had with other patrons that night.
How could he imagine that those patrons would tell their friends, who would tell their friends and so on? Of course the kind-hearted bard wouldn't do that on purpose!
It's not his fault that all the citizens of Mondstadt now know about Diluc's engagement with you!
Sorry Donna.
"Come now, Master Diluc! Good news are meant to be shared with others! Who knows? Maybe even the Anemo Archon caught wind of them, ehe!"
"...I won't sell you any wine for a month now."
"W-What?! Please, don't be so cruel, Master Diluc!"

Of broken promises..
Genshin Men, completely forgetting about your birthday
Characters included: Xiao, Cyno and Childe
Summary: Your special day was just around the corner. You were very ecxited about it, since your boyfriend told you he had something very special planned for you. But things turned out different than you had expected..
Content (Warnings): Angst; Hurt/no comfort; established relationship; characters may be slightly ooc; misunderstandings; gender neutral reader; not proof read yet
Read Part 2 here
Word Count: 4.2k
I was in the mood for some angst, so now here I am, writing this and taking you all with me. I don’t know why I’m so drawn to drama and hurt, but I find it easier to write than fluff and other stuff. As always, feel free to point out any mistakes I may have made, I very much appreciate it!
Well then, I hope you enjoy reading this little piece I brought you all!
Xiao
Your relationship with Xiao was still very much in the beginning stages. It was all tender touches and soft words, as to not scare your boyfriend away from all these new emotions and situations that he was experiencing. You didn’t mind it though. You went into this relationship, knowing that you would have to take things very slow with him. Probably slower than you ever had, but in your eyes, it was a good thing.
It gave you both the opportunity to really get to know each other, not just on a superficial level. Your first kiss happened three months into the relationship and it was also at this point, that Xiao acknowleged his feelings for you though it was still difficult for him to initiate any sort of affection. He didn’t flinch away from you anymore though when you tried to cuddle or hug him, so in your book, that was a huge success already.
Cue now, a few more months into the relationship, almost going for a year now, and your birthday was just around the corner. Xiao knew about it, how the mortals celebrated the day of ones birth every year, though he never thought anything of it. But since it was important to you, he not only made the effort to remember the date, but also plan something for you, so you could really enjoy that day.
He did need to get some help though, since he had absolutely no idea what would be an appropriate thing to do and what wouldn’t be. Don’t mention it to him afterwards though, or he might get moody with you again.
You were currently getting ready for your big day. Xiao refused to tell you, what you were going to do. He didn’t even give you a hint. The only thing he told you to do, was to dress up a little bit, which you gladly took the opportunity to do, since you don’t usually get the chance to do that very often.
After one last look in the mirror once you were done, you went to sit down at your table, feeling giddy and excited. Hundreds of thoughts running through your mind at once, trying to figure out what his plans for today were. As you waited for Xiao to pick you up, like he told you he would do, you noticed that quite some time already went by. He should have been here half an hour ago...
Normally, you wouldn’t think much of it, everyone could be late sometimes. But this was Xiao. He was never late for anything, so of course you began to worry as you noticed this.
“Xiao?”, you called his name and waited for a few seconds, hoping that he just had the wrong time remembered. But nothing happened. Your boyfriend didn’t magically appear right in front of you like he usually did when you spoke his name.
Your gut feeling told you that something wasn’t right. But you swallowed that feeling right down, trying to calm yourself down by reasoning.
‘Maybe he is just getting ready himself, no need to worry.’
‘Surely he is just finishing up some last preparations.’
You tried to find every possible reason for why he could be late and not appear at your call, but as you tried again and again to call his name, he still didn’t show up. Your heart began to feel heavy as worry settled deep within you. Something really must have gone wrong.
You pondered for a long time, trying to figure out what you could do now. But after some time with no real success, you just couldn’t take it anymore. Without wasting another second, you grabbed a few important things and then went straight to Wangshuu Inn, hoping to find him there. Praying, that everything was okay.
It took you some time to get there, but once you arrived, you wasted no time, going straight to the balcony your adeptus boyfriend usually kept for himself.
“Xiao!”, you called again once you arrived, but still, nothing happened. You looked around, trying to see if you could spot him anywhere near, again, without success. Desperation settled into you, as you went downstairs, to where the Innkeeper was located.
“Excuse me, Verr... have you seen Xiao today?”
“Xiao?”, she repeated, then thinking to herself for a few seconds. “No, I’m sorry. Last time I saw him was yesterday morning. He said he had something to take care of.”
“Oh, I see.... thank you.”, you murmured, not sure how you were supposed to feel or react to these news.
You wrecked your brain, trying to think if he had mentioned something the days prior. But if he did, you didn't remember it. Verr looked at you with something close to pity in her eyes. She opened her mouth to say something, but closed it again just as quickly, obviously changing her mind about it. Sad and defeated, you made your way back to your house at Liyue Harbour, not sure what you were supposed to do now.
Should you search for your boyfriend? After all, he could be hurt out there somewhere. Then again, you had not even the faintest of idea where to begin with your search. Then, should you just wait here for him to return? But it was still Xiao you were talking about here. He could be gone for anytime between an hour and an entire week. Or, and you absolutely didn’t like that thought at all... he could never return.
What if something bad happened to him while on this mission he never told you about? Was that the reason why he never said anything to you? Because he knew that he wouldn’t make it back? But that would be ridiculous. He wouldn’t have made so many plans with you and talked so much about your shared future with you if he knew he wouldn’t live to see it.
All of these thoughts that came crashing in your mind, you just couldn’t hold back the tears anymore. You forgot all about your stupid birthday, you just wished to have your partner right here next to you again, safe and sound.
That night, you cried yourself to sleep, praying to all the Archons out there, that he would come back to you in one piece. That Xiao would be fine. It was all you would ever wish for.
...
The next day you woke up to a cold bed. A clear indicator that he hadn’t returned in the middle of the night and spent it next to you. And also a harsh slap in the face with the cold reality. You struggled to get yourself out of bed or to get yourself ready, but you managed. Once you were done, you thought about your options, what you could do.
You decided that your best course of action for now would be to go to Wangshuu Inn again today. Just to be on the safe side and see for yourself if he returned. So, you did just that, setting out again while sending a small little prayer to the Archons again.
The walk to the Inn seemed longer this time around then it did yesterday. Maybe because you weren’t in such a rush to get there as you were yesterday. You were still defeated once you arrived, slowly walking up the stairs and pass Verr again, who only looked at you with a knowing gaze and tried to give you a reassuring smile. You found it hard to respond, so you just avoided her gaze and made your way up to the balcony again.
To your surprise, you saw Xiao standing by the handrail, his gaze fixed at something in the distance, but you were sure that he noticed the presence of someone coming up the stairs. Still, you were in shock how casual he was just standing there.
“Xiao?”, you spoke, and the shock was clearly heard in your voice. Your boyfriend turned around and looked at you, while you were also frozen in place a few steps away from him.
“What?”, was the cold reply you got, which only threw you off even more. Why was he being this way to you? Shaking that thought out of your head again, you quickly walked up to him.
“What do you mean ‘what’? I was worried about you! Where were you?”
“Why were you worried? You know of my duty to protect Liyue. I have been away for longer than one single day. And as far as I know, we weren’t supposed to meet up.”
You were taken aback, staring at him as if you were asking him with your eyes to please tell you that he was only joking. But that was the problem.. Xiao never joked, about anything.
“But.. we were. Yesterday was-”
“Y/N, please, leave it for now. I am not in the mood today.”
“But Xiao, yesterday-”
“I said, leave it. I had something important to do yesterday. Something more important than whatever silly little thing you have come up with to bother me! I’m not in the mood for your antics today, so just don’t bother. Leave me alone.”
You took a step back as you heard his harsh words. For a second, you thought you saw something like guilt shine in his eyes, but it was quickly washed away by the cold expression he now wore.
You were hurt. He had never said anything like that to you, you weren’t sure how to react. So you did the only thing you could think of.
Without another word or glance at him, you turned around and granted him his wish. His wish for you to leave him alone.
________________
Cyno
Cyno had many responsibilites as the General Mahamatra. It wasn’t uncommon for him to be gone for a whole week - sometimes even longer - for a mission. He could never tell you much about his work or current mission, until it was over, as to not endanger you or himself. But once the deed was done, he told you all about it, about everything that he experienced.
When he was gone for so long, the first thing he would always do was to find you, trap you in his arms and cuddle with you for hours on end. Not many people would think this of him, but Cyno was a very affectionate lover. He thrieved on physical contact, no matter if it was just holding your hand of if he could hold you in his arms.
To him, you were the most important thing in his life, second to nothing else. Sometimes, he resented his position as General Mahamatra, especially if it was preventing him from spending time with you for an extended period of time. But it was also his calling, he felt. This position was so important to him, and you knew that as well. You learned to deal with it, and Cyno was so grateful for it.
He didn’t know many people who could put up with a busy partner as himself for such a long time, but you two managed. That’s why, as a way to show his gratitude towards you, he put so much effort into your relationship. He was never late for anything, be it a date or just something trivial. He made an effort to remember every important date, be it for anniversaries or a birthday date. In all of your years with Cyno, although you did have your ups and downs, it was overall the best relationship you ever had.
And that is exaclty why the current situation hurt you so much.
...
You were having dinner with your boyfriend, already feeling a little giddy as your birthday was just a week away and you were excited to see what Cyno had in store for you this year.
Except, it came entirely different.
“I have to leave for a mission tomorrow. It’s a very important one, so expect me to be gone for about two weeks.”
You froze when you heard those words. Surely, you must have misunderstood.
“What?”, you said, not really being able to process this new information. And it didn’t help that Cyno simply repeated what he had said.
Was he making a joke again? That had to be it. Surely, he would never forget about it.
“You’re.. leaving? But, what about-”
“Y/N, please. It’s a very important mission. I can’t just let anyone handle this. It has to be me. You have to understand.”
So, he really wasn’t joking. You just looked at him, while he continued eating like nothing has happened, completely unbothered. Suddenly, you were not feeling hungry at all, so you just got up and left the table.
“Darling?”, Cyno called after you as you went in the living room, not sure what else to do with yourself at the moment. Cyno continued to look after you, trying to figure out what could be wrong with you. He wrecked his brain but when he couldn’t come up with a solution, he just shrugged it off and continued with his meal. He would deal with it once he was done eating.
Meanwhile, you were sitting on the couch, deep in your thoughts. You were trying to come up with a solution, a scenario in which Cyno could still spend your birthday with you. You didn’t want to spend it without him, you have never done that since you got in this relationship with him and you definitely didn’t want to start with it now.
You had no idea how much time had went by when you suddenly felt the arms of your lover wrap around you as he sat down next to you.
“What’s wrong, my dear?”, he asked, his crimson eyes fixed on you.
“Just... thinking.”, you said, as you were not able to come up with an idea until now.
“Thinking about what? Tell me, maybe I can help.” That did sound like a good idea, so you obliged.
“It’s about that mission of yours. I was just thinking-”
“Y/N”, Cyno let out with a long, frustrated sounding sigh. “There’s nothing I can do about it. Can’t we just forget about it for now and just cuddle a bit. You know I’m gonna miss you.”
“So you can just go and disappear in the morning before I’m even awake? No Cyno, I wanna talk about it now. Because you’re forgetting something important.”
“I am not forgetting anything. Right now, the only important thing is this mission. I can’t tell you about it, but just know I have to be the one to take it.”
You were getting frustrated as well. He was just not giving you a chance to explain yourself.
“That’s not what I mean, Cyno. I know YOU want to take that mission, and that’s fine. But there is something else you should remember. What I’m trying to tell you is-”
“Listen, I don’t wanna argue right now. If you can’t handle this, maybe it was a mistake to get in this relationship with you.”
You froze when he said that, staring at him, unmoving. Was that really how he felt? Like all this was a mistake? That YOU were a mistake?
Cyno waited for a response from you for a few seconds, but when nothing came, he sighed and stood up, collecting a few neccessities he would need on this trip.
When he passed the living room again, he saw you still standing there. “I changed my mind. I’m leaving today. Maybe the time apart will help the both of us to figure something out and reflect on us.”
With that said, he went for the door and you heard it fall into place again once he had already left.
So that was it? He just left, basically telling you that your relationship might be ending when he returned? And that was when the dam in you broke and tears started to stream down your face. You broke down were you were standing, clutching your chest in hope to ease the burning pain you were feeling inside but of course, it didn’t help.
What a way to spend your upcoming birthday.. anticipating the end of your relationship with the man of your dreams..

Childe (Ajax)
Being in a relationship with a harbinger was simultaneously the best and worst decision in your life.
Childe was a very sweet and caring lover, although sometimes slightly overprotective. You’ve spoken to him about it many times, but after only a week or so, he completely forgot about it again and went back to his old ways of guarding you like a hawk.
People in Shneznahya knew about you and your relationship to one of their harbingers, so you were almost as feared as Childe himself, as people were afraid you would talk ill of them to him, which would then result in harm for them.
They didn’t know they had nothing to fear. You were one of the kindest and caring humans that Childe has ever met. It was one of the many reasons why he fell in love with you in the first place.
After he joined the harbingers, he became a frequent visitor in the infirmary, even more so than before. Somehow it was always you who had to take care of him when he was injured again. Most of the time, while you were treating him, Childe was talking about random stuff, throwing in a flirtly remark here and there, but you never paid much mind to it.
Until one day when he showed up there, no injury in sight, so you asked him what he wanted here. And he just asked you on a date.
That was over two years ago and you have been in a relationship with him ever since. Childe was loyal to you, and you trusted him in that, even if he had to travel to many different regions all across Teyvat. He couldn’t always take you with him and the time you two had to spend apart from each other proved to be difficult for both of you.
You also learned very soon that Childe was totally a family person. He took you to meet his parents fairly early on, but you really hit it off with them, getting along quite well with them, and his siblings followed soon. You fell in love with them, and Childe just love seeing you interact with his family. It made him want to get a family of his own with you as soon as possible.
But, no matter how good the relationship was going, there were also always going to be problems along the way. His work was a huge factor, yes, but another huge part of the problem was Childe’s confrontational behaviour. He liked to cause fights, not only physical ones with his enemies, but also with you.
His personality and pride demanded of him to win in every argument you two had, even when he would be in the wrong. Apologizing had never been a strong suit for the ginger, and you knew that. But sometimes, that was all you wanted. For him to seriously apologize and make you his number one priority form time to time.
Because you never were. You knew that Childe loved you with all his heart, he told you that almost every single day. And still, you were only ever his second choice. Because his work would always stay his number one priority.
No matter what it was or how bad the timing would be, if he had another mission, he would already be out the door, barely giving you a kiss to the cheek before he was gone. Sometimes, it was hard. Having to stay behind, not knowing if he would return to you in one piece again.
He promised you to be careful and that he would always return to you, but there was still a chance. A chance that something wouldn’t go as planned and fate would take him from you. In that times of not knowing, you didn’t care how difficult your relationship was if it meant that he was alive and well in your arms.
...
It had been a very stressful week, work has been demanding much from you, both mentally and physically. You were glad when you got home that evening, looking forward to the few days you were able to spend with your boyfriend again.
As if he sensed that you would be done this evening, you found him in the kitchen, preparing a meal for you both.
“Ajax? You, cooking? What’s the occaision?”, you asked, clearly surprised since he rarely cooked, ever.
At that, he just laughed. “What, can’t I spoil my beautiful lover from time to time?”, he asked, giving you a smirk. “Sit down, I’m almost done.”
You did as you’re told, not questioning him any further. You just assumed that it would be a taste for your birthday tomorrow. You haven’t planned much that day, since you never really celebrated your birthday. You would just have lunch with his family at their place and then spend the rest of the day together, doing whatever came to your mind. Maybe his spoiling you today was in preparation for your day tomorrow.
The meal was actually very good, which surprised you, since you only got to taste Childe’s cooking once before today, and that wasn’t exactly his best creation. Your boyfriend seemed to be proud of it himself.
Afterwards, you did the dishes together, before you both went to get ready for bed. Like every night, once you got into bed, he pulled you close to his chest and whispered a sweet “I love you” in your ear, before you both drifted of to sleep.
...
The next morning, you woke up alone in bed. Patting your hand on his side of the bed, you found that it was still somewhat warm, meaning that he got up not too long ago himself.
You managed to get yourself out of bed, before searching for your boyfriend. You find him sitting in the kitchen, drinking a cup of coffee.
He noticed you coming up behind him, so he turned to you and smiled up at you. “Good morning, sunshine. Did you sleep well?”
You nodded as you went and made yourself your own cup to get your day started properly. You both set in a comfortable silence as you each drank your own drink. Only when you awoke more and more did you notice something strange... normally, Childe would have already showered you in congratulations and presented you with at least a gift or two, but nothing.
Yet, you chose to not say anything just yet. Maybe he had something planned and would do that later in the day.
Once done with your coffee, you got up and went to the bathroom to get yourself ready for lunch with his family. You usually got in the bath first, since you took longer than him, Childe would almost always be done within ten minutes or so.
When it was his turn to get ready, you were waiting for him in the living room, when a knock on the door startled you. You were not expecting any visitors today, but you still went and answered the door.
“Greetings. Would the Lord Harbinger happen to be available?”, was the first thing to greet you once you opened the door. Perplexed, you just nodded and went to turn around, but Childe was already coming down the stairs towards you.
“Babe, everything alright?”
“Yeah.. there is someone for you at the door..”, you said. Not wanting to pry, you went to the kitchen, but you weren’t really able to sit down as just a few seconds later, the door closed again and Childe came in the room.
“I’m sorry babe. An urgent mission. I have to go right now.”
“What? But what about lunch? Your family is waiting for us. And-”
“It’s just a meal with my family. It’s not that big of a deal if we miss it this one time. I’m sure they would understand.”
You were shocked as you heard this. Did he really forget? That today was your birthday? Sure, you never really liked to make a huge deal about it, but at the very least you wanted people to remember it. Was that too much to ask for?
Too caught up in your feelings, you didn’t care how you sounded when you said that to him. “Fine. Go do whatever it is you have to do then, since it’s so much more important. But I’ll go and meet your family since they’re waiting for us.”
With that, you stormed past him, grabbed your coat and went out the door. Childe just stood there, utterly confused on why you were so upset about this. It was just a simple lunch, nothing too exciting about it.
So, he just shrugged it off and went to collect his coat. Then, he made his way to the palace of the Tsaritsa, where he would get the details to his next mission, while his mind was still racing, trying to figure out what went through your head... but he just couldn’t come up with anything.
Couldn’t be something too important if he forgot about it...

Abandon | Tighnari x Reader
𓆩⟡𓆪 Beware! This is angst with no comfort! Otherwise, please enjoy~
𓆩⟡𓆪 I made this a bit shorter than it was intended but I didn’t want to make it too long and I felt like the ending was better this way.
𓆩⟡𓆪 Word count: 1367
"Ah... sorry. I'm just not in a place where I'm looking for a relationship. Thank you for your feelings; thank you for loving me. But, I can't return that love... not yet anyway."
Those were the words Tighnari had for you when you first confessed to him almost two years ago. Of course it broke your heart, but it was probably the nicest let down you could think of. You were upset, of course, but who were you to question his feelings? Tighnari was always busy with work and his studies to be in a relationship.
Relationships never seemed like they were for him, but his words had given you some inkling of hope that fueled your own feelings. The longer you spent around Tighnari, the more you felt your love for him grow. It truly felt endless. You never felt as if Tighnari took you for granted, he was just as any good friend would be. He supported you, was kind to you, encouraged you, and never judged you. Yet, there was always a feeling of emptiness that invaded your chest when you were around him.
Discontent.
No matter what, you were never satisfied with Tighnari's kindness towards you. It was never something you ever mentioned or acted upon, but you always felt like it wasn't enough. Unsurprisingly, you wanted more. You were in love with him and the gentle shoulder pats always left you wanting more.
That's when you realized your feelings had gotten out of hand. At first, being around Tighnari was enough. Just being able to see him, hear his voice, and helping to contribute to his work was enough. You weren't sure when it stopped, but now you needed to do something about it.
So, over the course of a month, you slowly began to get busier with your work. Twice a week, you would spend time with Tighnari, Cyno, Kaveh, and Alhaitham, usually playing Genius Invocation TCG. But you stopped attending due to taking on more work. Unfortunately, this led to some adverse health effects, but that was expected.
Consequently, you were called out by all four of your friends, especially Tighnari, who demanded you take some time off to take care of yourself. You felt guilty, avoiding your close friends the way you did. One thing you knew you couldn’t do was go cold turkey on Tighnari. It was a thought you just couldn’t handle so that’s why you were taking it slowly.
See, this is where things fell apart. It was a weekend and you had a day off. You went out with a friend and as you were heading home, you happened to run into the group and Cyno invited you to play Genius Invocation TCG.
“Sorry, I’ve been here a while and I’m tired.” You lied, giving them a halfhearted wave.
“Oh come on, (y/n).” Kaveh said with a frown as he placed his cards face down. “It’s been a while since you spent time with us. It’ll be fun! Hey! You can pester Tighnari about his new girlfriend.”
“Kaveh!” Tighnari hissed at his words but his friend had already spoken. Your entire body went rigid at Kaveh’s words and for a moment, everything fell silent. Your heart sank, the pit of anxiety grew within you, and the emotions slowly began to bubble.
Tighnari’s eyes slowly shifted to you, seeing that heartbroken look in your eyes. He wasn’t ready to see that. To see just how much the idea would hurt you. The remorse he fell made him realize he wasn’t as innocent as he pretended to be.
There was a very awkward silence that fell upon the group as everyone looked between you and Tighnari. The forest ranger looked guilty and you looked hurt. Even Alhaitham started to feel a little bad when he saw your face. Yet, you forced a smile, blinked back the tears, and looked at Kaveh which made the architect flinch a little.
“Sorry, I don’t have time for gossip. I’ve got an early day tomorrow but have fun on my behalf. And Tighnari, congrats on the new relationship. Didn’t know you had it in you.” There was a way you spoke that added to the guilt Tighnari felt. He knew you didn't mean that as a compliment.
With a wave, you turned and left, making all eyes land on Tighnari. The awkward silence continued for a moment before Alhaitham finally broke it.
“What the hell was that?” As usual, he was straightforward, needing answers to why you reacted the way you did.
“N-nothing. I’m sure they’re fine.” Tighnari lied as he looked at his cards. Yet, even though his eyes scanned the faces of the cards, he wasn’t thinking about the game or any strategy. He was worried about you because he knew the hope he gave you had just come crashing down. Yet, he didn’t move. The uncomfortable atmosphere remained around the four, but Tighnari remained where he was seated. ⎯⎯ ୨ A Little Later ୧ ⎯⎯
Your walk home was dreadful. Some pathetic part of you wished Tighnari would chase after you but he never did. Your entire walk home was filled with sniffling as you tried to bury the sadness down, which ultimately failed. Yet almost every moment was just waiting for him to catch up and apologize or even explain what was going on.
The words just kept repeating over and over in your head. Tighnari was in a relationship? He never told you any such thing. You weren’t even aware he had been looking. A bitter laugh escaped your lips as you approached the hill that led up to your home. You were so desperate, weren’t you? Hell, maybe he was going to tell you but you stopped hanging around him a few weeks ago.
You fooled yourself into acting as if you were completely unaware. You wanted Tighnari to love you back but acted as if it fine that he didn’t. Even after he rejected you, you hoped he would just one day come to you and declare he changed his mind. You dreamt of that day so many times, yet out of all the scenarios you made up, this wasn’t one of them.
You saw the look in his eyes. He knew how you felt and there was some inkling of guilt within his gaze. Yet, knowing that he might have felt some form of realization brought you no solace. You didn’t care if he was understood- not right now anyway. Knowing him, he probably wasn't even sorry.
Who was this girl he was dating? Did she work with him? Work with one of the others? Did you know her?
So many questions filled your mind that would remain unanswered for the foreseeable future. Your hand rubbed your wet cheek as you pushed your door open and closed it behind you. Your other hand mindlessly slid against the door and finding the lock, and turning it.
Your home felt… dreary. There was that silence that made the loneliness settle within you. Dropping your bag at your feet, you just walked inside and laid down on your couch. Your eyes stare at the ceiling and you were acutely aware when your vision began to blur with tears.
Soft sobs escaped your lips no matter how hard you tried to choke them down. You were angry. Angry at yourself for feeling this way, angry at Tighnari for giving you hope the day you confessed, angry at that girl who had him or whatever. No matter what you did, the tears just wouldn't stop. So, you just let go- you let those emotions flow out of you instead of holding them back.
You officially had to move on. Tighnari really didn’t feel the same way and you needed to let go of these stupid feelings. He wasn’t obligated to love you and you weren’t obligated to be friends with him. Especially since it was so painful. But that dull ache returned and you looked around your living space for any form of comfort. Yet, there was none. You were all alone.
There was a lingering thought in your head which kept reminding you every few moments that… Tighnari never came after you.

You had left for a commission a day ago. You weren't supposed to be gone long, maybe a few hours at most which is why when Kaveh woke up the morning after you left and you weren't in bed with him, he was extremely worried. He asked everyone he saw that day if they had seen you, and he even went out to where your commission was supposed to be to look for you but nothing. Not a single trace of you was left there, By the end of the day he was worried sick, and he was going around asking for the second time if they had seen you.
He had gotten Cyno to go out in the desert and look for you and he found you dead near the sight of where your commission had been. When Kaveh found this out he was in a state of shock. You? dead? his s/o? his strong s/o? there was no way, he wouldn't believe it. He refused to believe it. For a few months after your death Kaveh was just in complete denial and everyone was worried about him. Even his roommate Al-Haitham had tried talking to him about what had happened to you but every time he did Kaveh would just shake his head and deny it. "No, Y/n's not dead..." he would say, even if deep down he knew he was just saying this because he couldn't admit it. He knew you were gone, and he knew that denying it wasn't helping.
About a year after your death is when he started to come to terms with it. And it was the hardest thing he had ever done; He barely left the house and when he did, he didn't talk to anyone. He took about a year just keeping to himself and trying to cope and after that year he slowly started to become himself again. But even after that it always seemed like a piece of him was missing.
𝑻𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒏𝒂𝒓𝒊
You had always been extremely sickly. It was something you had delt with since you were young and when you met Tighnari and ended up starting a relationship with him he wanted you to live a good healthy life. He would always try to make new medicines for you, but nothing seemed to work. Tighnari knew deep down that your sickness would be the thing to kill you, but he would've never admitted it.
One morning Tighnari woke up to the sound of you coughing and it was clear that you were having a hard time breathing. He immediately got to work trying to find something to give you to help but nothing worked. Tighnari desperately tried to save you but in the end, it was futile you ended up dying that afternoon. Tighnari was with you in your last moments. "Please hold on Y/n.." He begged as he held your hand tightly. As you took your final breaths Tighnari just broke down into tears.
Collei heard him crying in the room over and came into the room and she gasped when she saw the sight before her. Collei did her best to comfort Tighnari, but nothing could help right now. "I appreciate you trying to make me feel better, but I need some time alone right now" He choked out. He spent the next few days locked up in his office just mourning. After about four days he knew that he had to return to work even if it was hard. When he returned to his duties, he pushed down all of his emotions and he just kept everything hidden from everyone. Whenever someone would ask him how he was doing and how he was coping he would just respond with. "I'm fine."

(𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒊𝒍𝒆𝒓𝒔!! 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝒕𝒂𝒌𝒆𝒔 𝒑𝒍𝒂𝒄𝒆 𝒃𝒆𝒇𝒐𝒓𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒐𝒏 𝒒𝒖𝒆𝒔𝒕!)
You were killed by a member of the fatui. You were out late one night, and you had run into the fatui on accident, and it didn't end well for you. The beloved s/o of the God of justice Furina, the people of Fontaine loved you just as much as they loved her and the whole nation of Fontaine was in mourning.
But it was nothing compared to Furina's mourning. You were the only one Furina trusted with her secret. The only one she confided in. You were everything to her and you were just gone? She was absolutely devasted and for months after your death she locked herself in her room. Refusing to come out and leaving all of the work to Neuvilette.
And she had no intention of leaving any time soon. She couldn't face her people like this. She couldn't put the act on right now she just couldn't. One morning she was looking out the window of her room and it was raining, and she had noticed that the water levels had indeed risen. She sighed and she knew she needed to return to her work. She did what she does best, and she forced herself to put on the act that she was okay and that she was coping well with your death. She forced herself to be strong and once again she forced herself to be a god.
𝑳𝒚𝒏𝒆𝒚
Lyney being involved with the fatui meant he was involved with some pretty dangerous people. However, he never thought that those people would end his beloved s/o's life. Lyney had some problems with a few of the people in the fatui and one of those people took it out on his s/o and one day when you were on a commission one of those people killed you. Lynette was actually the one that got the word that you had gotten killed, Lyney was away from Fontaine and when he got back, he expected to be greeted by his beloved s/o but he wasn't.
Instead, he was greeted by his sister Lynette who looked extremely worried. "What's wrong sister? Where's y/n?" He asked. Lynette frowned and looked at her brother. She told him that you had been killed and as soon as the words left her mouth Lyney gasped and covered his mouth. He couldn't believe what he was hearing, He wasn't even gone from Fontaine for long and you were fine before he left. You kissed him goodbye and told him that you'd see him when he gets home. You were alive a few days ago and now you were just gone? it was so much to process. He sat down and he stayed silent for a few moments with hundreds of thoughts running through his mind.
After a while he still realized Lynette was there waiting for him to say something. He nodded and spoke softly "Thank you for telling me..." He said getting up and walking to his room. He cried himself to sleep that night, the bed felt so empty without you next to him and he didn't get much sleep at all that night. Lyney tries to push forward and move on like normal since he knows he has a job to do, and he has to take care of his siblings. And while the people around him might think he's doing better he never fully gets over you.
𝑨𝒓𝒍𝒆𝒄𝒄𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒐
Whenever you had commissions, she would always accompany you and today was supposed to be no different but as you two were about to set out Arlecchino got word that there was a situation she needed to tend to. You assured her that you'd be fine and Arlecchino nodded. She believed you would be fine, and she kissed you bye and she told you she'd meet up with you later. But when she met up with you later what she saw shocked her. She found you lying in a pool of your own blood. You had gotten hit pretty bad in the stomach. She ran over to you, and she scooped you up in her arms. "Dear? Dear what happened!" She said trying to shake you awake.
But she was too late, you were dead. She brought you back the House of the Hearth and there was a funeral held for you. She knew mourning was for the weak, but she couldn't help but give herself a few days. She gave herself a few days to mourn and a few days only. When the few days were up, she returned to her work even if it hurt and it was hard. She became a lot more ruthless, and the children of the House of the Hearth noticed their father becoming a lot colder and more distant.
𝑵𝒆𝒖𝒗𝒊𝒍𝒍𝒆𝒕𝒕𝒆
You and Neuvillette had been married for years. You were his whole world and he loved you to pieces. However, one day you came down with an illness that was going around Fontaine and had already taken the lives of so many in Fontaine. Neuvillette knew better than anyone that you were strong, and he believed you could beat this. However, over the next few months you were just getting weaker and weaker and eventually it became clear that there was no way you were going to survive.
You had a peaceful death surrounded by your family, your friends and of course your beloved husband. Neuvillette didn't take your death well, he neglected his work duties for months and since you were close friends with Furina, Furina understood completely and gave Neuvillette as much time as he needed before he came back to work.
Eventually Neuvillette came back to work, but he kept to himself, he didn't talk much and completely shut himself off away from everyone. He never re married or found anyone else, he couldn't there was no way he could move on from you. You were his everything and he thought about you every day, wishing there was some way you could come back to him.

newton’s second law of motion
◇ characters ◇ al haitham (ft. kaveh, cyno, tighnari)
◇ tags ◇ divorced dad al haitham as your ex-hubby, possibly ooc al haitham (?), you have a daughter, al haitham pines on you badly, angst to fluff, crack, kaveh-cyno-tighnari support group ftw, brainrot format with a little fic
◇ a/n ◇ happy birthday you dolt (/aff). i didn't plan to post any birthday fic for him but this thought hit me as soon as i read that silly bday letter. this was supposed to be just a brainrot help-
𝑚𝑎𝑠𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡 ⬙ 𝑡𝑎𝑔𝑙𝑖𝑠𝑡
divorced husband!al haitham who is hit by a revelation over the year he lived separated from you - that he had taken you for granted and he had driven you away by failing to communicate and appreciate you properly.
divorced husband!al haitham who receives a little package from you on his birthday; just a small, store-bought birthday cake. he's reminded of the biting words he said the year before, when he tasted the cake you made with your daughter. in hindsight, it was perfectly normal for a three-year-old to mistake salt for sugar. in hindsight, he should have known to hold his tongue. in hindsight, he could have done better than just stare as your daughter cried in your arms.
divorced husband!al haitham who knows that you were just being nice with all these small gestures. for updating him about how your daughter is doing in school every month. it was all a formality of sorts and it was an agreement you had when you broke your marriage. but he can't help the hope that sparked within his chest when he sees your handwriting and hears your voice on the rare meet-ups you organize.
divorced husband!al haitham who admits that you deserve someone better. who resolves to be someone better.
divorced husband!al haitham who picks up that parenting book he abandoned and buys new ones because four-year-olds are different from newborn babies. people stare at him in awe when he starts attending the parenting-themed seminars, and it's like he's back in his akademiya days, taking notes and analyzing research journals.
divorced husband!al haitham who, to his previous roommate's surprise, lets himself be dragged into the 'severely unproductive' weekly tcg game meeting. he silently sits and listens to cyno unconsciously bragging about the warm home he built with his spouse, tighnari proudly retelling story after story about collei taking the lead of the forest rangers, and kaveh gushing about the love of his life.
divorced husband!al haitham who, to everyone's shock, asks for their advice on how to rebuild what he's lost, who for once listens to kaveh as he guides him to emphatize more and shows him the values of white lies when used properly, as inefficient as he though it was. soon enough it turns into a full-on lecture at one corner of lambad's tavern - tighnari had brought out a whiteboard out of nowhere, and even cyno who was at first skeptical about giving him a second chance was animatedly giving his own two mora to avoid worsening the disaster that is the scribe's love life.
divorced husband!al haitham who picks up a new pen and delicately writes a letter with the ink of your favorite color, intending to ask you to meet at the library because he wanted to "further encourage our daughter's newly-found interest in reading". he's hoping it would show his sincerity (yes, he did listen when you absentmindedly told him about your daughter on the last update meeting) and imply that he wishes to make amends (because he remembers not taking much interest in the more 'trivial' things that concerns your daughter when he should have).
divorced husband!al haitham who does not understand why you didn't reply to him, and so he proceeds to recite the letter, word-by-word, to the curious table of the same friends from a week ago, their tcg match long forgotten. kaveh throws a deck of cards at him. cyno slumps back to his chair with a steely expression, arms crossed. tighnari sighs and bemoans about how al haitham is the worst student he's ever had thus far. kaveh rubs his face with his palms - "alright. okay. alright. look. clearly one lecture isn't enough. we could just. we could try again. hey, at least he tried!"
divorced husband!al haitham who wakes up the morning after because of his doorbell, with barely two hours of sleep, coffee-less (you used to make him coffee and he does not understand what he's missing because he could never make them taste the same), grumpy (he remembers the way you would laugh and boop his nose whenever he feels like this), darkened eye bags under his hazy green eyes (which you used to try and will away with a kiss; it never worked but he wishes you were there to do it still), opening the door of his abode (the house feels far too big without you) and promptly almost collapsing from shock at the sight.
it's you.
divorced husband!al haitham who fumbles with his words; his brain isn't working properly and his composure is nowhere in sight. you're holding your daughter's hand and you're looking at him from head to toe with a frown. he asks why you were here. you tell him icily that it was your scheduled date for the usual monthly update; you thought he would have appreciated you bringing your daughter this time. his brain stops. his heart swells. his chest feels warm.
divorced husband!al haitham who invites you in and blushes when you see the remnants of last night's "lectures". kaveh's silly flowchart ('when you should shut your mouth') is still present on the whiteboard. tighnari's books about child development created little towers around the coffee table. cyno's headpiece is still lying on the sofa. and his own copious notes are all over the place.
"what kind of.... project.... are you working on, exactly?"
his brain's broca's area must have been terribly damaged from all the 'scenario exercises' kaveh put him through last night, because what was supposed to be a 'pay no mind to it, it's merely a personal interest of mine' somehow turned into a sheepishly spoken: "i wanted to become a better partner and father."
and you must have thought he was crazy, too, with that look of utter shock on your face. al haitham decides to change the subject. he sees the way your daughter is eyeing the pantry - more specifically, the cabinet that used to store her snacks, and maybe it's all the books and seminars he attended but somehow he understands.
"have you... had breakfast?"
"..... no," your tone is cold and you avert your eyes. the implication is not lost on him. you had not planned to stay for long.
"i see. would you like to procure-" he pauses, gazes towards your daughter, remembering what he read - and he drops to his knees so he can be of a similar eye level with the young child. when he speaks next his tone is higher, softer, and you almost can't believe what you're witnessing, "-would you and mommy like to get some food with daddy?"
"..... yes."
his little angel's voice is barely above a whisper and slightly unsure, but it still makes a genuine smile spread onto his lips for the first time in...... what seemed like forever. he directs his gaze up towards you, like some kind of a lost puppy seeking permission from its owner. you throw one last glance at his notes and sigh before nodding stiffly.
"alright.... you look like you badly need coffee anyway."
divorced husband!al haitham who, despite the tiredness in his bones, readily escorts the two of you out of the house after quickly scribbling a note for the three guests sleeping on a pile in the guest room.
divorced husband!al haitham who asks his daughter about where she'd like to eat and agrees immediately upon her answer despite knowing that their destination would only serve that trashy coffee he loathes with his whole life (and when you ask him again whether he's really okay with her choice, he says yes even though he wanted to say no).
divorced husband!al haitham who asks you about the latest updates on your job and tells you that he thinks it's admirable, for you to balance caring for their child while also having such a stable career (you did not express the need to be getting constructive criticism on how to further improve your career and branch out your skills, so he decides to keep his mouth shut).
divorced husband!al haitham who stumbles, trips, and is still horribly clumsy as he paves a path back to walk beside you and your daughter. but he tries. and he hopes to spend his next birthday with you, your daughter, a kitchen that looked like an oven has exploded, and a deformed cake.
and as the front door closes, the three guests high-fives each other in a small circle from behind the slightly opened door of the guest room.

@goldensunsetchild Asked:
Hello there! I know that you might be busy right now but I wanted to let you know an idea that I have, greatly inspired by your post: spanish reader who gets homesick but instead of getting depressed by it starts to do things they used to do back on their world. Dancing to their traditional dances while singing their accompanying songs, teaching the children the games they used to play when they were younger and also telling folktales to everyone who is interested in listening to. If you decide to do this idea and want to incorporate things from Costa Rica, please let me know and I'll help you with anything you need (◍•ᴗ•◍)✧*。
(Content under cut)
HELLO YES SORRY IT TOOK ME SO DAMN LONG TO GET TO THIS!! 😭 /gen
I went to Costa Rica back in highschool in 2018? I think, and when I tell you I FELL IN LOVEEEE <3333
Costa Rica is a beautiful country and everyone was really nice, vibes were immaculate 🤌 ✨
☆
Sun: Costa Rican Reader! (you/they/them)
Stars: Sumeru cast
Comets & Meteors: Content Warnings: None known & Trigger Warnings: alcohol usage/drinking game.
Orbit: Headcanons-ish
☆
when u first crash landed in Teyvat, people luckily recognized you from when u were a player!
and u took in whatever culture and traditions everyone was so excited to show you as they were kind enough to give u clothes/food/shelter etc.
butttt… it did get overwhelming after a few months, and u got homesick more and more often :(
after all there wasn’t really an equivalent country to Costa Rica, and you couldn’t just take a plane back home, you were stuck here for… however long it takes someone to leave a video game universe??
You decided to actually do smth abt the crippling depression and “outsider” feelings instead of just rotting away, and went to Sumeru to get closer to the greenery of your home,
it made you feel a little better, but it could be the best, so u decide to lowkey force everyone in Sumeru to convert to Costa Rican LMAO
so ofc u did the most logical thing to convert ppl to a culture, the food!
u helped fund a small restaurant full of classic Costa Rican foods (coughandsoyoucaneatitwheneveryouwantcough)
(u still have the insane mora leftover from what u had in game so ur basically one of the richest ppl in Teyvat ngl 💀)
u recreated just the basic gallo pinto/casado with what was available (some beans from Natlan and rice from Inazuma/Liyue, the Ajilenakh nut from Sumeru acc kinda acts like plantains :0 and local fish/greens for salad)
Needless to say Sumeru is fascinated by the new cuisine and esp since its not a secret that you’ve funded it/made the menu from your homeworld
Alhaitham orders the casado most of the time bc he “admires the exact proportions, its all the nutrients you need, perfectly balanced” NERDDD
Tighnari likes barbudos bc there's not a lot of egg dishes in Sumeru but there are a lot of greens, so he “likes the familiar in unique combinations!”
unsurprisingly, Cyno likes Chancelta bc he can pick it up, eat it quickly, and go on with his patrol
Collei, Kaveh (and secretly Dehya lol) really like being able to munch and snack on sugar cane, (and the plantain imitation desserts!)
(u found sugarcane deep in sumeru forests, it was like on ur world, but sweet flowers sprouted out of the stalks too!)
You decide the next phase was to introduce dances and other fun stuff!!
Nilou was literally shaking with excitement to learn the traditional dances <3 (and also getting ur permission to add fun twists or Sumeru elements to them)
the kids that like to hang around and watch the troupe practice (and join) absolutely got obsessed with swing criollo, it was so cute to watch them all pair up and kinda trip over their own feet trying the footwork out
(u may or may not have teared up bc the band learned how to play a Spanish song for u guys to dance to, just for you)
teaching the theater troupes musicians how to adapt upbeat songs like Caballito Nicoyano or Ticas Lindas
omg getting Nilou Kaveh Faruzan Cyno Dehya (and Dunyazard!) to do the calipso limonense always cheers you up, (which is why they are so eager to do it when ur feeling homesick ❤️🩹)
Kaveh steps on too many people’s toes, Dehya gets dizzy from the spins/turns easily, Faruzan keeps spinning for too long, Nilou and Dunyazard are actually secretly latina bc they're so good at it (did they outdo you?? no, no they couldn't possibly-)
and Cyno just really likes the little dance line everyone makes lol
speaking of the General Mahamatra
FOR THE LOVE OF GOD
u CANNOT teach Cyno a new game from your home country, and expect him to NOT be the most competitive mf in Teyvat abt it
that's actually how u spread any games from back home, Cyno just does all the work for you and challenges ppl to things like jackses and no one knows what it is
which he then proceeds to strong arm them into learning and beat their asses at it
(yes Cyno wins against you a lot, sorry lmao)
You definitely had a drinking game centered around it one time and the consequences changed with each person who lost
like Cyno had to learn how to cook tamales that were edible, and more importantly..
Alhaitham had to at least attempt the swing criollo lol
(was it unfairly attractive? maybe. was watching Nilou, who was teaching him, and Alhaitham both do swing criollo 2x as attractive?? that's just for u and the Sumeru vision users to know)
SPEAKING OF ALHAITHAM
absolutely hilarious, yet also impressive?? how quickly he picked up ur slang
smug bastard picked it up based off sheer context/vibes too, u didn't even explain it to him, just u trying to go sit down in ur Costa Rican restaurant and he pulls u back before someone mows u down saying “hey, suave un toque-”
YOUR NECK FUCKING CRACKING BC U WHIPPED AROUND TO LOOK AT HIM SO FAST LMAOOO
(ngl u scared the fuck out of the poor scholar before he got all smug abt knowing slang)
accidentally spread this knowledge to other vision users bc he got in the habit of casually using it, tbh more often when ur not around lol (Alhaitham being caught having habits bc he's fond of other ppl?? never)
his favorite is “qué chante…😒 ” obv lol
so now the forest rangers use stuff like pura vida and tuanis sending each other off on patrols! Collei so cutely excited to explain to other Sumeru ppl or tourists where the words come from and what they mean, spreading ur Costa Rica agenda very well 👌
and the mahamatra like to use “Jale pa’la choza” when coming back from the desert to Sumeru city homebase! :)
ALSO bonus:
u absolutely got leyendas into the bedtime warning/ghost stories of the entirety of Sumeru children lmao
u start spooking kids like Dori (Nahida finds them fascinating)
and after awhile u notice Cyno and Dehya mentioning watching out at night for La Llorona or los cadejos 💀??
like you've genuinely made them paranoid, bc they wanna be sweethearts and protect you from them, like even if they don't believe they exist, they're worried you do and are trying to make u feel better lol <3
☆
an iced coffee? for me?? :O
Blessed be Costa Rica, such a lovely country when I went, and as soon as I got off the plane coming back the first thing I did was make a Costa Rican meal the best I could
like got my mom to prep from dry black beans and rice etc. as fresh as we could get (nowhere near costa rica level btw) and made fresh guac and fried plantain chips and salmon I think? literally cooked the first night back bc I knew I missed the food already/knew id get sick
and I was RIGHT, that food I made was fine, but any other American food so bad I got nauseous
I literally got sick COMING BACK TO THE U.S like 😨???!!! I knew it was bad but not THAT bad lmao
and the first meal I had after that was still a homecooked meal, like my mom made it💀
love the coffee from there too, we even ordered coffee from the farm we visited when I got back to US it was so good (10x better than American obv)
THANK YOU BTW GOLDEN!! FOR BEING SO PATIENT AND LOVELY TELLING ME ALL ABT COSTA RICA <3333
I hope this did some amount of justice to ur beautiful home! :)
Safe Travels Golden Child,
💀♒

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝐈𝐕! THE NIGHT IN QUESTION
<- prev masterlist next ->
"and here's to finishing finals!"
you grin alongside your friends, clinking your glass with theirs as you all take your first drink of the night. you're not even being dramatic when you can practically feel the weight of the past month's stress melting away as soon as the slight burn of alcohol meets your lips, and it's clear that your friends share the same sentiment with the almost collective sigh of relief that you all breathe, despite the crowded atmosphere of the local tavern.
every akademiya scholar had the same idea, flocking straight to the nearby tavern in sumeru as soon as they had finished their final exam, finding the perfect solution to the past month of stress and studying to blow off some steam and drink with their friends. in hindisght, it was lucky that your friends had managed to even snag a table, with most of the other darshan members sinply huddled together in whatever spare space was left.
kaveh suddenly throwing his arm around alhaitham's shoulders brought your attention back to your friends, and you grinned at alhaitham's disgruntled expression before shrugging a tipsy kaveh off of him. though you weren't too far behind the blond in terms of level of sobriety, you still giggled at the way he swayed even while seated, laughing even harder when alhaitham's eyes met yours in dismay as kaveh's head flopped down onto the table.
"take it easy, hm?" nilou reached across the table, patting his hand reassuringly. you could hear a muffled response from the man, before he suddenly sat back up again.
"finals are over," he gushed, his smile spreading to the rest of your table as you grinned and took another sip of your drink. you glance upwards again, feeling the heat of a gaze on you and almost blinking in surprise as you meet the teal-coloured ones of alhaitham's from across the table.
his chin was propped on his hand, head ever so slightly tilted towards you, and you weren't sure whether it was the alcohol or the look in his eyes that had you coughing and saying you would buy everyone some shots.
"careful, make sure you don't end up like kaveh here," dehya smirks at her own joke, the hilariously low tolerance of kaveh often making him the butt of jokes on a night out. kaveh huffed, the slight pink tinge to his cheeks not helping disprove her words.
"everyone here is sho mean to me," he slurred, and you bite back a giggle as you rise to your feet unsteadily. if the effects of your drink hadn't been felt before, they certainly were now as you fully straightened up, feeling the rush to your head.
you frowned, doing a quick headcount of the table.
"are tighnari and layla not here yet?"
you catch nilou and dehya exchange a look, before the redhead hesitantly tells you "they're with cyno." you blink once, nodding at this news.
"so no shots for them, huh?" you grin, trying to break the awkward tension as you slid away from the booth and made your way to the bar on unsteady feet.
you weren't exactly expecting everything to proceed as if nothing has happened, what with you and cyno breaking up a mere month ago, as well as the fact that you both had the same friends. and while there hadn't been any bad blood, per se, between you and cyno, there was still a rather bitter taste in your mouth at the mention of him. one that could get washed down with another drink, you mused to yourself.
your plan to do so was interrupted when you felt yourself collide with someone as you were lost in thought, an automatic apology slipping out of your mouth before your slightly tipsy brain finally recognised the girl in front of you.
"kirara?!" her own eyes widened as she recognised you too, a grin breaking out onto her face.
"hey! how's it been?"
"oh, you know, finals are over so i'm finally taking a break along with rest of the akademiya." as if to prove your point, you hear a particularly loud and drunken yell of a nearby student as he raises his glass above his head in some triumphant scream.
kirara smiles, shifting the glass in her hand to the other. "yeah, i saw the fun and i don't have to go back until tomorrow, so i thought i might as well join." you hummed, watching as her eyes flitted between the students that surrounded you.
"how's the business going?"
"oh, it's doing great. how's, um-" she furrows her brows for a second- "how are you and cyno doing?" that same pang returns, and kirara can see the way your face changes as she puts two and two together.
"ah, sorry."
"hey it's fine, it's not like you-"
"so how long ago did you guys break up?"
"like a month? finals and stuff got really stressful, so yeah." kirara hummed, and you cleared your throat as you started to move past her. "i've gotta go get some more drinks, so see you around, yeah?"
"of course, nice seeing you," she gives you a toothy grin, waving a hand as you continue on through the crowd of scholars, feeling a little more disgruntled.
by the time you had returned to the table of your friends, shots in hand, you were more than eager to throw back your own one, not even grimacing at the taste by this point.
"you guys wanna dance?" you heard nilou shout over the chatter of others and the fainter throes of music from who knows where. you nod enthusiastically, feeling your head swim as nilou grins and takes you and dehya by the hand, starting to lead you further into the crowd. you cast a glance behind you, seeing kaveh back and active again, trying with less success than nilou had to get alhaitham up and onto the dancefloor. you snickered at their little back-and-forth, and how alhaitham didn't even budge despite kaveh's best efforts, before you were whisked too far away into the crowd to see them any more.
this tavern must have been larger than you realised, since you could see a makeshift dancefloor a couple metres away where the music was now much louder. nilou took the lead, raising her arms above her head as she began to sway to the beat, beckoning to both you and dehya to join. your drunk self doesn't take much convincing, and even dehya joins, spinning nilou in a circle which has the redhead giggling.
the night continues in a drunken haze, sounds and colour blending into one as your senses are soon overtaken by the now loudly thumping bassline of the music, as well as the new swarm of bodies surrounding you and your friends as other students joined the already-packed dance floor.
it all got a bit much, and you shouted to tell dehya that you're going to go to the bathroom, getting a quick thumbs up in return. weaving your way through the sea of people makes you feel like you're worthy of joining the adventurer's guild, and you're fairly certain you've had at least one drink spilled onto your outfit by the time you made it to the toilets,
it doesn't quite hit you how drunk you are, until you find yourself clutching the counter and staring at the woozy reflection of yourself on wobbly legs. regardless, you freshen up a bit, waiting for the room to stop spinning before you open the bathroom door again, once again getting hit full force with the sheer volume of the tavern.
and, as it quickly dawned upon you, in your drunken haze you hadn't really planned out on how to exactly get back to your friends. you huffed out a breath, opting to turn on your heel and head back to the bar, only to almost barrel into someone.
"oh my god i'm so sorry-" your words were spilling out quickly due to the alcohol, that heady feeling returning as the stranger steadied you with their hands, and you looked up at their face with some difficulty to see the slightly concerned face of alhaitham peering down at you.
"y/n? where's nilou and dehya?" his words sounded far-off, and you merely giggled before swaying a bit, pointing in the general direction of the dancefloor as your answer.
"went to the bathroom on my own and i lost them." you couldn't help but pout, and you watched as alhaitham scrubbed a hand down his face.
"right, ok, let's get you home then." your eyebrows shot up at his words. he fixed you a firm glance, his warm hands on your shoulders now adding a gentle pressure as he began to guide you towards the exit. "you're clearly drunk, and i don't see you finding either of them any time soon." you open your mouth to complain, only for him to interrupt you before you even talk with a firmer utterance of your name. you frown, and his face softens a fraction before tugging at your arm again. "c'mon, it's late."
"you sound like my fucking dad," you ultimately grumble before relenting, hearing alhaitham snort briefly at your remark as he guides you around the throes of people before the cool night air greets your skin as you leave the tavern. you draw closer to him subconsciously, almost pulled in by his body warmth that seemed to emanate from him on this chilly evening.
much to your dismay, alhaitham had released his grip on your upper arm, now letting the two of you walk in tandem. you frowned to yourself briefly, coveting his warmth again, seeking out for it with your fingers until they met the expanse of his bicep. you wrapped your arm around it, practically giggling to yourself as alhaitham rolled his eyes at your antics. it felt nice, having something to keep yourself warm as you began to walk in the direction of your house, and clinging to his arm until you were practically pressed into his side also had the added bonus of ensuring that you wouldn't stumble and fall into the road.
it doesn't stop the asshole from snickering as you stumble over your own feet, detracting from the fact that his arm shot out and wrapped around your waist to steady you. you glared up at him as he made no attempt to hide his amusement, jostling him with your shoulder, though it didn't appear to have much effect.
"i'd like to see you try walk home while drunk." alhaitham merely shrugged, the smile still playing on his lips.
"i'm pretty sure i drank more than you, only difference is i can hold my liquor." you huff again, much to his amusement, and things fall to a comfortable silence for a few metres.
your attention diverts to the arm that's still rested comfortably against you, you're practically hugging it, and you give it an experimental squeeze, raising a hand to poke at one of the veins.
"the fuck are you doing?"
"you have nice arms." there you go again, drunk and babbling words before your brain can stop you from blurting them out.
"oh yeah?"
you hum in affirmation, letting your finger continue to trace his vein as it continues down to his forearm.
"you're tall and they're warm but not too warm and they're very solid. good arms." you pause for a second, appraising the one that you had in your grasp for another second. "they also look nice."
"you must be more drunk than i thought," alhaitham hummed, a tinge of mirth in his voice. "i'll keep that in mind though." you groaned a little, letting your forehead fall against his shoulder momentarily. alhaitham didn't seem to mind, merely slowing his pace slightly to glance down at you.
"you're gonna make fun of me for this when i'm sober, aren't you?"
"only if you want me to." you peek up at him, eyes narrowing at his smirk.
"i used to think you were nice to me, y'know."
"nah, i'm just drunk right now."
you scoff at this, batting his chest as he laughs, though the less inhibited version of himself that he was right now did nothing but corroborate his own claim.
that same easy silence once again enveloped the two of you, the walk back to your home once again becoming the primary focus. the cool air began to sober you up, and despite some newfound clarity, you felt hesitant to relent your grip on alhaitham's arm, and some insistent voice in the back of your head didn't hasten to point out that he wasn't moving away either.
this mini revelation almost had you reeling, having you walk next to him with bated breath, as if one wrong move would break the spell and he would move away from you, back into the safe zone of being just friends, and not whatever had been happening for the past twenty minutes. each step closer towards your house became more dreaded, carrying with it the growing realisation that you would have to let go of alhaitham and his arm, and have to look him in his eyes and bid him goodnight.
maybe it was some drunken selfishness, but you had grown rather accustomed to the way you had wrapped yourself around him, not quite willing to part with it yet. and by the time you were approaching your front door, this feeling still remained prominent.
you finally came to a stop just outside, and you fumbled with your keys, partially hoping that your fingers would never find them within the small confines of your purse. you cursed yourself as you felt the thin metal, drawing them out of your bag and flashing a reluctant smile at alhaitham as you began to unlock your door, fingers already itching for his touch again.
and then he utters your name, so low that you can barely hear it, and you can't help but glance back at him over your shoulder.
alhaitham stands at the bottom of the steps, not quite daring to cross the threshold despite the look in his eyes mirroring your thoughts. you swallow hard when you see the open longing in his expression, closing the gap between you somewhat by moving down a step, bringing you to eye level with him.
the briefest flash of an idea to invite him inside enters your mind, though fear holds you back from voicing it. alhaitham's eyes search your own for something, before they travel lower and gaze at your lips for a few seconds in a way that has your heartbeat increasing.
it has you leaning forward ever so slightly, drawn to his warmth all over again. the centimetres between the two of you diminish, and you can almost swear that you see him lean in too, before some unknown emotion flashes before hisbeyes and he straightens up, coughing once.
"it's late, y/n. get some sleep." you freeze, feeling warmth spread to your cheeks as you now ignore his gaze.
"right. thanks." you shut your door with a little more force than nencessary before alhaitham can see the way your face crumples, frowning as you pull out your phone, eager to tell your friends about what had just transpired, wiping away the stray tear that managed to slip past your waterline.
𖦹 if you had a ring doorbell instead of a regular one, you would have been able to see alhaitham lean his head against your door for a good 2 minutes after you closed it, before muttering "stupid" to himself and walking off

How would they react to a gentle, calm reader who becomes a bit possessive in the heat of the moment? [obey me & genshin]
Part 2
[Don't ask me how I got here and how I got these kinds of online friends that ask me this. I just do]
Note: When I said the heat of the moment, I meant innocently. Not... you know 🤭
Characters: Obey me brothers, Kaeya, Yae Miko, Venti, Ayato, Zhongli, Ganyu, Pantalone, Alhaitham, Albedo, Dottore, Cyno, Xiao
You can request more characters if you like this
Kaeya, Yae Miko, and Asmodeus would be first surprised but then amused. "My, my~ am I yours now?~ Well, I quite don't mind being yours ♥︎" they are so gonna tease you. Maybe brag about it. Who knows. Everyone was questioning that they've had strangely been in a good mood. They would 10/10 use this opportunity to tease and flirt with you. Venti would 10/10 brag about it too and join the fun. Same with Ayato, even if he loves your gentle, caring, and calm personality. He definitely likes this side....he wonders what about— (I ain't writing that. Let your imagination go wild)
Lucifer and Zhongli would be very surprised but would smirk at your words/actions. Lucifer would probably scold you a bit because of it, but he honestly doesn't mind, no, he loves it when you do. Just his pride doesn't make him admit it. Oh, how they love the face you made when you became a little annoyed at the person he was talking to. Zhongli would seem to have his mind on something else while drinking some tea. Some people would see him smiling. Maybe he was thinking of how you made him go closer to you when the person seems to be getting closer to him? Pantalone. Suddenly, the payment would get higher. I wonder why...(Look in the dottore one.)
Alhaitham and Albedo would probably observe. They would test what is the limit until you get jealous and perhaps get a little possessive. Maybe they want to see you in action.
Dottore would think it's absurd to waste his time observing this new reaction. It's just emotion. It's not like he is experimenting on his love you and love watching your reaction. He would never....why was he and Pantalone working together, and Pantalone was paying spies to see reactions or even new ones of you and people who make these reactions from you? Aurgh, now you had an effect on him! This would interfere with his experimenting. You must take responsibility. Now...won't you let him do what he wishes? You are gonna take responsibility, won't you?
Mammon and xiao would be so flustered though. Mammon would stutter every time he thinks about that moment whenever you are near him. He gets distracted easily. Xiao would probably could never see you in a week unless you call his name. If it wasn't an emergency, he would pout frown. He could never look into your eyes for months. Or he'll be blushing. They both hoped that you didn't see the tip of their ears go red. How flustered. "You have no respect for the adepti!"
Levi would be so baffled. 'H- hUuUUuH?! Is [name] getting jealous for a yucky Otaku like me?!!' He would probably stay in his room for days, and if he do invite you in, he'll probably rest his head on your shoulders. Just don't turn your head to see him blushing so hard. If he encounters someone or something he doesn't like, then he will definitely hide behind you. Even if you're short, because short people are scary....especially with the slipper—
Ganyu would protect you if in any cases goes wrong, but she would probably be blushing and stuttering for a few days. It does make her feel some sort of protection, although if you are too tense, she'll probably be embarrassed but uses her adorable tatic you love to do. Lay on her lap or let her lay on your lap as you soothe her to sleep.
Satan and Cyno. Yeah, I know. Other genshin characters are scary, but Ima just Cyno as an example. They would be a little surprised but not that much since everyone, even the most gentle, calm, and caring person, can have some moments like these, but still surprised. They would probably encourage you, because. They believe if you're theirs, then they are yours. And because they like this side of you. Satan would probably guide you to a nearby cat café if the atmosphere is too tense. Cyno would probably crack up some jokes. Classic. They both would probably glare at the person, well, unless someone they hold dear. But if it's a stranger or person they don't, they will. Don't forget, even if Cyno is a person who has jokes up his sleeves like Ayato getting his Boba from his sleeve. He is still the General Mahamantra, so he does look scary for his height. (As I told you in Levi's, short people are scary!! Don't tell any shorties though. Don't wanna get my life hunted 😨)
Beel and belphie. Honestly, they both don't really care that much. Well, Beel does feel flattered and probably smiles by your actions, but! He's just hungry and loves your cooking. Although he'll probably hold your hand and shyly say thank you for making that flirty person go away. Belphie just wants some sleep, but thanks to the surprise, he can't. Now, you need to hold him tightly in your arms. "Don't. You. Dare. Let. Go....please?" (He'll ask politely)

Hellooooo im the anon who usually sends in runaway pregnant genshin darling ideas (or one of them hehe)
Okay so I don't know if you got one for them yet, but imagine runaway pregnant darlings but with cyno and tighnari?? Like they babytrap darling in order to keep from escaping them but it happens anyways...Like from what we know about cyno it would seen terrifying for darling to try to escape him especially while pregnant since cyno is like...a master tracker/hunter who's tracked numerous criminals down so of course he's gonna find darling with no problem ..like darling is gonna have to try to pull something extremely smart in order to escape cyno
As for tighnari....as forest ranger he knows every inch of avidiya forest so there's no place darling can hide from him...and knowing tighnari, he's not gonna be happy at all with his darling once he finds them
Cyno is so scary when he tracks you down, so eerily focused and determined, his serious nature as the General Mahamatra guiding him on a trail he’s certain leads to you. He’s very good at finding runaway souls. After all, if he wasn’t he wouldn’t be able to execute judgment. Cyno isn’t as angry as you might think. Rather, he’s more worried that you might hurt yourself or get captured by nefarious individuals and that greatly outweighs any frustration he could muster. That, and he was suspecting you might try escaping at some point. It’s impossible to hold someone still forever when they want nothing more than to be free. He understands that, and he’s told you that if you can behave he’ll let you do things like roam about the house (albeit heavily monitored). Cyno wants to trust you because trust is an important foundation of any relationship and he’ll be having a child with you, but he can’t. Not when you pull such dangerous stunts.
He’s gentle with you. Yes, he scares the soul out of you when he appears and everyone in the village is quick to give you up, knowing just how ruthless the General Mahamatra can be. Whether they believed your story about him holding you captive, you can’t say. The General Mahamatra is a mysterious individual. They do not know him beyond that title and are only aware that if he comes after you you’d better count what little blessings remain. What he’d want with you, a poor, pregnant person, is none of their business. Cyno is serious and unfazed with your reactions. Whether it’s anger or fear or sadness or even defeat, he act the same: neutral and stony-faced.
He could tell you about how thoughtless that was, remind you that it’s pointless to run, even threaten you into compliance. But he doesn’t. He simply offers his hand and says in a voice that is so soft, a voice reserved only for you, “Let’s go home.”
There are many things Cyno knows. He knows his affection for you is true. He knows he wants this—wants a family, wants your reciprocations, wants to be able to look upon you without seeing you shrink away in fear. He’s patient. He loves you too much to be hateful or spiteful or angry. Instead, he reprimands you on the way back. You already know it was useless to flee. You already know there’s no escaping him and this life he’s shackled you to. Cyno tells you it’s important you stay in the safe confines of his home. What would you have done if the stresses of a new environment with new people and new fears affected the baby? What if someone had found you and hurt you? What if you lost the baby? He’s worried for both your and the child’s sake. You need to think before you act. He doesn’t want to lecture you in things you’re already well aware of, but he has to remind you.
Cyno is just Cyno when he’s with you, not the General Mahamatra whispered about so fearfully. He can make compromises if you’re willing to behave; he’s nothing if not fair and sensible. And if you really wish to walk around and see new sights, he’ll join you on a walk. And as the months pass and your belly grows rounder it will become harder to try any agile, nimble escapes. But by then Cyno hopes you would have submitted to the sweet domesticity that comes with him and the family he will raise with you.
- - -
Tighnari isn’t surprised when he finds your bed empty. He isn’t worried either, but then he also isn’t pleased. You can be so troublesome sometimes. Have you forgotten that you’re carrying his kits? Have you forgotten that fennecs mate for life? If you wanted a walk or a change of scenery, you could have just said so. Now whether he’d grant you that change of scenery is solely dependent on whether you’ve been behaving… In any case, Tighnari is more annoyed than upset. He’s told you plenty of times that the forest is as beautiful as it is dense and dangerous. If you don’t have proper navigation skills or aren’t accustomed to the environment and the flora and fauna that reside there, you’ll never find your way out, let alone survive. Must he drill that concept into your head until it clicks?
Tighnari has always believed that you’re capable, but after he realized you were pregnant and he watched your belly grow as the months passed, he’s insisted that you need him. Sometimes it feels like he relies on you more than you’re meant to rely on him. Tighnari is reasonable, however, and so even he knows the appeal a forest has. You could get lost in the beautiful nature; it can also hide and protect you. But Tighnari knows the forest like the back of his hand. It doesn’t take him very long to find you. He was generous and patient enough to give you a day of solitude to yourself because he knows that you often like being alone and if that’s all it takes to get you out of the mood you’ve found yourself in he’ll do just that. This also serves as a learning experience for you: Tighnari is much safer than the forest.
He finds you and doesn’t bother with the lecture. You’ve heard it so many times now that it’s nothing new. You hear him before you see him, and he lowers to sit beside you on the ground, where the shade of a large tree provides perfect coverage from the sun above. He can spare you the scolding. All that really matters is that you’re here with him.
Sometimes saying nothing is better than saying anything. Tighnari sits in silence with you, listening to the thrum of your heartbeat and the heartbeats of so many others within the rainforest, hears birds take flight in a flutter of feathers, listens to rushing bodies of water and leaves and twigs crunching underfoot in the far-off distance. When he’s in the moment with you, where neither of you argue or debate the meaning of freedom and autonomy and even what it means to love, there is so much peace. And that’s all he wants at the end of the day: a peaceful life with you, lived happily in the depths of the rainforest with a beautiful family.
There are many things Tighnari could do: punish you, lock you away, shackle and chain you, feed you all manner of muscle relaxants so you’ll find yourself unable to escape farther and farther into the future until, eventually, hopefully, you’ll give up and recognize you belong with him. But he won’t. Not yet. Not when he knows that moments such as the one he currently shares with you are possible.
He inhales a quiet breath. "Do you want to talk about it?"
You never do, and he doesn’t expect you to. But he always offers his ears, his shoulder, his arms, his everything should you ever need it. And one day, when you and the kits are bonding and he watches with rapt adoration, you’ll realize he is not as poisonous as you seem to think he is.

in crimson, there is clarity﹒░ scara x reader
summary ➜ a continuation to the two-part mini series i made, contemplation in crimson. estranged lovers attempt to tighten up some loose ends.
genres/tags/warnings ➜ angst, hurt/comfort and hurt/no comfort themes, cyno tries to help, arguing, both of them suck at feelings, totally different writing style from the last two !!
— and i hope to never see you again.
Your nonchalance was something to be feared. Prolonged periods of silence, a million thoughts behind a tug of your lips upwards, albeit it felt too tight and you were certain anyone who knew better would've saw right through you.
You actively avoided anything that had to do anything with him. Puspa Café became a restricted area within your heart, the gazebo near the Akademiya where fruitful conversations and trivial thoughts passed you by became a deserted arch under the moon, and you had kept all his belongings in a secure box hidden at Kaveh and Alhaitham's house. They understood you, pitied you even.
Akademiya scholars and higher-ups blew their whispered assumptions into the air that you walked in, straying away from you the moment they feel your silent aura filled the room. For someone who was reserved enough as commander, the higher degree of quiet unnerved everyone and anyone. No one ever saw an inch of you anywhere else but your office and home, with only the occasional grocery runs to help satisfy their curiosity.
— get out. my dreams aren't your home.
Despite your diligence to avoid any sort of memory with that man, he somehow worked his way back into your dreams so easily, as if your thoughts was where he belonged. As much as any rational thought tried to push him out, some part of you would always let him in. After all, how could one night of immense hurt compete with the countless days of the warmth you shared.
But nevermind that, everything between the two of you was cold as the gaze you pierced into him, the one filled with the sounds of the broken shards of your heart. The pieces of your love that you tried so hard to pick up right after.
But at night, you can't help but wonder. Wonder if things went differently, the empty and unwrinkled space beside you on the mattress would still be occupied today. Nights were cold, midnights were lonelier, daybreak seemed to be the heaviest.
— when you think of me, i hope you are filled with distate and pure hatred.
"You look like dogshit." Cyno remarks, having opened the big doors to your office. You shoot him a tired glare, eyes raising from the stack of never-ending paperwork that seemed to love landing on the lowest of your days.
You let go of the pen in your hand, freely letting it fall to the wood of your clearly occupied desk. "I'll have you know you're still at work. I don't think you should be talking to a title like that, General Mahamatra," your lips thin into a straight line at his off-hand comment.
Cyno chuckles, though it was quick. "When were you one to care about what I said?"
If there was one thing more pestering than the hefty papers on your workspace, it was Cyno. You cherish him to no end, as a general and as a friend, but he would do good with some kicks to his head at certain times.
"State your business, Cyno. As you can clearly see, I don't have time for this," you gesture to the unorganized mess on your desk, a sarcastic look nursing on your face.
Cyno heaves a sigh, as if he was far too reluctant to delegate this news to you.
"He wants to see y—"
You're quick to interrupt him, with the usual response you started giving a month ago.
"No."
He gives you a knowing look, crossing his arms. At that moment, you knew you won't get anything past him at this point.
"Don't give me that look, General. I have my reasons." Your eyes train back to the words on the paper below your nose, but they don't seem to register into your brain.
He seemed to never waver when it came to asking for your audience during the last thirty days. The first few days absolutely wrecked you behind closed doors, the moment Cyno would leave you alone, with fat salty tears streaming down the corners of your face in pure frustration and hurt. Resolve was what you needed to build and that week, it began to crack with the lines of longing for his voice, his touch, his gaze, and his own presence. You were tempted, using the route that would brush past the location of his confinement the moment you clocked off but resolve began to build up, to your happiness.
The longing didn't come at work. No, it came at home during the wee hours, when the hands of the clock greeted the late numbers on top.
"You say you have your reasons. I'll give you that, yes. But your reason should've ended the moment you filed his arrest report. It's past about you as a commander now, (name), but you as his l—"
"Don't," You give him a hard look, "I'm not his anymore nor is he mine. He's just another one of our criminals, nothing more nor less."
Cyno pokes the inner wall of his cheek, before taking off his headpiece. Your eyes stay on him, with slight curiosity.
"This is a symbolic gesture, (name). I'm taking this off to let you know I'm talking to you as a friend, not as your superior," he says before continuing. "Talk to him. It would do you some good. If you still love him, fine by us but know your limits. If you don't, then that counts as a step to closure. You're a mess, you can barely work in that state. The new recruits might as well piss themselves in training by the dirty glare you give them."
Damn Cyno for being headstrong, never helped with shit.
"Go away." You retort, althought your response came out less impactful than you intended.
"You know I'm right." Cyno puts his headpiece back on before leaving through your office doors, stopping just below the doorframe.
"Room 0101, have Kuia accompany you up until the reception." Just like that, Cyno left.
When you hear the door shut, you bury your face in the palms of your hands as you groan. Today could have gone like any other. Coming into work with at a punctual time, going through mounds of paperworks; project proposals, research permits, and alike, and finally clocking out no later than eight-thirty p.m., but Cyno pressed otherwise. Dread begins to wrap itself tightly around your body, like a monster whispering the worst for your brain to register with a sinister smile.
The day only got longer from there.
— stop looking at me like that, as if i hung the stars up in the sky.
Cyno's subordinate from the Matra patiently waited for you by the time the dawn of night hit the Akademiya, standing on-guard by the elevator going down to the hall of confinement where prisoners were held.
"Kuia," you greet with a polite smile etched on your face, "good evening." She greets you back in the same manner, giving you a small salute on her chest before letting you enter the elevator first.
"I assume Cyno reminded you of a few things about this visit?"
Kuia presses the button going down and stands within a few inches to your right, the captain responds with a nod.
"The General Mahamatra specifically told me that you shall be left alone until the timer went out." You cock your head to the side. That's all? Thank the archons above that he didn't remember to tell Kuia that—
"He also instructed me to standby by the entrance only and avoid accompanying you during your alotted time frame."
Cyno is a headstrong individual, and you thank him greatly for that trait. However, when it comes to petty interests like these that concerned you, he seemed to be more determined to become more stubborn that he usually was.
"Damn guy can't even forget a thing. That's Cyno for you, Captain," you sigh with a soft chuckle at the back of your voice before the elevator opens with a ding.
Kuia stays back as ordered by Cyno prior by the entrance as she grants you clearance to enter a hall. Who knew the Akademiya treated even prisoners like celebrities with the amount of marble material displayed in the flooring. In response, you click a small tch in amusement before striding forward to his cell.
The moment you started getting closer, your heart began to leap out of your chest. Why was this far too nerve-wracking for your liking? You've done this before.
You've known him before.
So why would you have any reason to be nervous, to be afraid of something unsaid and undone? Why do you fear the look of his face when he finally sees you again?
You stride to his room, Block 0101 and lightly knock on the long glass window that had a telephone on its right. Your eyes catch a glimpse of indigo streaked hair as his legs kicked off the bed and stood up to face you.
Your breath catches in your throat, your fists clench and unclench from the fidgeting you were doing. His head is down before he takes the telephone on his end.
His face is finally shown. Despite the slightly prominent bags under his tired eyes, he still looked as charming as ever however, admitting that only proves to be ammunition should anyone hear it.
"Commander," your spine chills at his use of your title, his tone was received with uncertainty on your part. Your mind raced with different questions: Does he hate you? Did the both of you have something, even? Did he still mean anything to you at all?
"Kunukuzushi."
Your tongue tosses his name in your mouth, the pronunciation coming to you almost like muscle memory. He once told you that you pronounced his name slightly better than others, he loved hearing his name ghost your lips.
"How are you?" He asks with a slight smile, you're uncertain whether or not it was an authentic one or not.
How are you?
You've been asked that questions so many times in the span of a month and a half. You always had an answer, automatic to reply.
You've always said you were well.
But now that it was Kunikuzushi's turn to ask that question, you suddenly ponder on it.
How have you been?
Each night you spent alone, skin cold without the familiar warmth of touch. Each morning you woke up to silence instead of the soft greetings of good morning. Each day you dragged yourself to work, riddled with guilt and hurt and everything in between. All because of the man who stands in front of you.
"I'm doing good." Truthfully, what was he going to do if you said otherwise? Comfort you? All the right and the opportunities flew out the window the moment you planned his arrest.
You two contradict each other in the worst way possible, like a paradox that oppose each other in most ways but still find a way to create a crooked harmony of a relationship.
"That's great," was all he replied with.
"Look, let's skip the formalities." You start, crossing your arms and looking at him dead straight in the eyes. "Why do you call me here non-stop? It's a hindrance to work. You're becoming a distraction."
You internally wince at how sharp-edged your words were, you were lying. You would never ever even think of uttering those words to him, knowing Kunikuzushi better. He was better than that.
Kunikuzushi was your favorite distraction.
"You wound me, Commander."
He breaks into a small smile, but his voice is lined with a minor crack caused by the slight shock from your reply.
"I missed you," his tone became serious, punctuating it with a huff of an exhale. It made your heart stop, did he really? Was it... possible?
You don't say anything for a while, eyes anywhere but on his. You would crack under his gaze should you look at him, your resolve would always waver in his presence. He made you feel safe in vulnerability, but did he use that against you at any point behind your back?
"Was any of it real?" Cut to the chase, the quicker you leave, the better.
"What was?"
You roll your lips into your mouth, wondering the best way to word this.
"How much of it was real? Us."
It was his turn to be quiet, you couldn't see it but he fiddled with his fingers in pondering.
"All of it."
"Bullshit," you scoff with a laugh.
"I mean it, you won't believe me but that's the least of my worries."
You search his expression carefully, you couldn't find hints of a joke, that he was playing a sick prank on you. Would it really be fine to believe him?
"Why don't you hate me?"
Kunikuzushi laughs, a genuine one like the answer to your question was humorously obvious.
"Do I really have to spell it out for you?"
Yoy started to get a little frustrated, why can't he just simply tell it like it is? Why couldn't he look you right in the eye and be as blunt like he usually w—
"Because I love you, (name). If it wasn't obvious enough, I'll say it again. I love you, I love you, I love you."
All counts of irritation seep out onto the floor as he spoke, your body tenses less and you find it easier to breathe.
After all that, Kunikuzushi finds it in himself to tie his heart to yours for you to take, for you to own, for yours to love.
You'd sacrifice him to save the world, but he'd burn everything else if it meant he could keep you. He was yours, always and forevermore. Kunikuzushi does not plan on changing that fact, set in stone for eternity.
"Run away with me." He blurts out, almost a whisper with how gentle his tone was, like it was almost pleading for you.
Your automatic answer would've been no like the virtuous leader you are, but irrationality and longing take the forefront of your decision-making. Must he always be this convincing? This choice and everything you door say right after jeopardizes everything you stand for and everyone you lead. Should you say yes, you are estranged from the Akademiya and from the Matra.
But as you look back into the indigo pools of his eyes, all thoughts seem to quiet down. This could work, this could give you the life that was ripped away from you by your own actions in the past.
Your hand seemed to come alive on its own and reaches for the set of keys that unlock the cells of the hall of confinement, fiddling through each one with the familiar pattern of Kunikuzushi's cell before twisting it in place into the keyhole.
You shouldn't be doing this. Hell, you should have never come down here in the first place.
The lock clicks free and Kunikuzushi feels the air of the door swinging into his face, brushing his weaves of hair softly before he truly comes face-to-face with you. Your heart thumps violently in your chest, the course of actions you've just done—treason, to be exact, twisted your system into adrenaline rush.
"Don't make me regret this." You shoot him a look.
"You won't regret anything, lover."

good evening everyone. i have decided that i need to write more, so ive made a list of ships/other platonic dynamics from genshin and hsr that i like, and i'll be writing some short blurbs about them over the next month or so
day 1: cyno x tighnari
tighnari quietly peered over the book he was reading, some 500 page tome about plants that nobody else in the house except himself understood. cyno stumbled into the living room, his red eyes dim with fatigue as he put his bag down beside the front door before going straight to tighnari, flopping down on the couch beside him and leaning his whole bodyweight against him.
tighnari put the book down onto his lap and brought one hand up to gently comb through cynos hair.
"rough day at work?"
"just very tedious. people are stupid sometimes," cyno muttered, sitting up to grab the tcg deck that he always kept on the coffee table. he quietly shuffled through the cards, arranging them on the table in different teams. tighnari could practically hear the gears turning in his head as he mulled over the best teams at his disposal, eventually pulling out a sketchbook and messily scribbling the shapes of a few exotic plants.
"how was your day?" cyno asked after a while, "hows that new class youre teaching?"
"its alright, i suppose," tighnari muses, eyes not leaving the page, "much less stuffy than the akademiya, thats for sure. less pretentious, too. i think itll turn out alright."
one of tighnaris ears twitched at the sound of quiet footsteps coming down the stairs. a timid collei crept into the room, eyes landing on cyno and tighnari. she nearly walked right back up the stairs, something the botanist had learned was a habit of hers from her old house, but tighnari softly called to her,
"hey, its alright. you can come down here if you want." he watched as the girls body language started to become more relaxed, and he began to relax as well. the past month had been quite rough on all of them, especially with the legal battles of getting custody of the 13 year old and putting her poor excuse for a father in prison. however, moments like these provided even the briefest moments of respite and glimmers of hope of a future that needn't be plagued with anxious tremors or jolting flashbacks of the past in the dead of night.
collei quietly made her way over to the couch, sitting on the side opposite to cyno and tighnari.
"how was your day, collei? did you do anything fun?" cyno asked, trading his tcg deck for a regular deck of cards and beginning to build a tower out of them on the coffee table.
"it was...good? im learning a lot of science-y stuff from mister tighnari," the girl mumbled quietly.
"your handwriting is getting quite good," tighnari said, glancing at her with a soft smile before returning to his sketches of plants that now littered the page in front of him, "almost better than cynos," he added with a chuckle.
cyno glared at him, adding another tier to his house of cards. "your handwriting is a slew of cursive, not much better than mine." tighnari elbowed him in the ribs, but cyno remained steady, and his tower of cards stayed upright.
"oh, by the way, what music were you playing in your room earlier?" tighnari asked.
"oh, i- uh," collei stuttered, "i can turn it down if you want. sorry if it was too loud..."
"no, it wasnt at all. it actually sounded familiar. i liked it a lot."
"oh. it was a lot of stuff from the 1950s, like," collei paused to remember the names of the artists, "nat king cole...frank sinatra...louis armstrong."
"i have a cd of frank sinatra in our bedroom," cyno mused as he added yet another tier to his card tower, "do you want to borrow it?"
"s-sure...by the way...is there any food in the kitchen i could use to cook? i didnt eat dinner earlier..."
"yeah, of course," tighnari said, already moving to get up.
"...i didnt have time to eat at work, either," cyno quietly said.
"then come on, you too. looks like im going to be the chef again tonight."

Falling for the Mad Scribe
(Alhaitham x AFAB!Reader)
(MDNI!!! Content Warning: Possessive!Alhaitham, Bratty!Reader, Female-Anatomy, Cunninglingus/Oral, Fingering, Degrading, Praise, Bondage, Dom/Sub play, Power Dynamics)
"Ugh... Tighnari owes me a whole Forest Watcher's Choice for making me come to Sumeru City while Alhaitham owes me Sabz Meat Stew for making me attend the meeting in his stead. He knows if none of them can't stop his bluntness, then how am I to control my tongue when it comes to Grand Sage Azar or rather, anyone from the Rtawahist aside from Layla." A groan escaped from you as you flung yourself backward onto the bench outside the Scribe's office, awaiting his return since he was the only one with a key to get in.
You were just a shy and meek 3rd-year Researcher at the Akademiya of Sumeru. Your Darshan was that of Amurta: the Darshan of biology, ecology, and medicine. You were assigned to help Tighnari after the Head-Sage of your Darshan, a man named Naphis, asked you to assist him with the Forest Rangers while keeping an eye on the Withering Zones that seemed to form at random times.
Yet, Tighnari sent you to become an assistant for Alhaitham. He was last spotted by Cyno to have not been "Looking Well" and Tighnari asked you to keep an eye on him. That was 3 months ago, and this man has refused to let you go back to Gandharva Ville, stating different problems and that Tighnari has ordered your current location to be your new home for the foreseeable future.
"Hmmm, and here I thought you were best friends with those of Rtawahist Darshan?" A fellow researcher, Dana, had asked as you shook your head.
"Most of them think they are more knowledgeable than the next Researcher of any other Darshan. I mean, I understand that their research is important, all of our research journals, and the amount of effort everyone puts into it is vast."
"If I didn't know any better, I say you deeply despise the Rtawahist Darshan?" She moved closer as you moved away. You were not in the mood to deal with her crazy ideas today. She clearly had been spending too much time with the “Lord Sangemah Bay”, Dori you thought was her name.
"Despise is too loose of a word while hatred is too strong and a vastly overused word." You explained
"Have you tried Loathe or maybe Detest." a new voice caught your attention. It was like honey to your ears.
"Oh! Scribe! I apologize, I shouldn't have kept her from her duties." Dana expressed as you shook your head.
"Come on, it's not he and I are dating; I am simply his assistant while he is my senior, that's all." You laugh but fail to see a change in the atmosphere around Alhaitham. It was almost as if he was insulted and rather put-off by the conversation at hand.
"If that is the case, can you and I get lunch sometime?" Dana asked and you said you have to check your schedule. She was really your only friend in Sumeru City since you were essentially locked in the Akademiya due to the unusual hours of your work.
"If you excuse us, she has filing work to do and I need to check applications," Alhaitham growls, pulling you into the office and away from the fellow Amurta Researcher.
Once in the office, you were told to go to your "corner" and fill out the documents from Tighnari and Cyno then file the documents as Alhaitham goes into his part of the office. You were about to question him on what is up with him, as he seemed even more pissed than usual but his "office door" slammed into your face.
Okay then...you will just investigate those weird mushrooms you found on your way to work this morning after you do your tasks. As you walked back to your desk, you noticed how clean your desk was as you left it an "organized mess" (as you call it) before the meeting this morning.
You sigh and go to the office door. You could tolerate how insufferable he has been, you could handle dry humor and you could somehow deal with his demands. But messing with your desk crossed the line.
You pound on the desktop and are ignored. “If this man is ignoring his work, I WILL LOSE IT!" you inwardly expressed before knocking on the door, seeing it finally open from all your violent action on the door.
"Alhaitham! Did you mess with my desk?" You hollered as you walked into the dimly lit room before hearing the door slam behind you and you were pushed up against his vast desk. At this point, your eyes were as wide as a Ruin Guard's own optical window, you had never been so scared of him yet he also seemed to excite you for some reason.
"I read that Ovulation heats up a woman's body by as much as half a degree Fahrenheit. Before ovulation, most women run between 96 and 98 degrees F (35.5 to 36.6 degrees Celsius). Right after ovulation, body temperature goes up to around 97 to 99 degrees F (36.1 to 37.2 degrees C)." His husky voice is heard on the shell of your ear as it seems impossible to look behind you by the way he had you pushed against the desk.
"Alhaitham?! What are you doing?"
“Did you have fun? Teasing me like that?" Alhaitham whispers and for some reason, it was turning you on.
“What are you talking about? Dana is a friend, nothing more.” You rebuttal.
“That girl was not what I was referring to…I was instead speaking about the man you were haphazardly close to after the meeting you went to this morning.” He protested.
“What man ...wait, you mean Namhu? He is a junior-”
“You were close to him, teasing me in the process. Stay away from him”
"Mr. Alhaitham, I wasn't teasing. He is only a fellow researcher-"
"I also read that women have issues with pleasure in the bedroom when with another. Perhaps women can take things into their own hands, or minds, as other research has found a lack of erotic thoughts, and even negative thoughts, during sex are linked to the trouble some women have reaching orgasm. These negative or distracting thoughts fell into six categories: thoughts of a traumatic past, sexual failure, a partner's lack of affection, sexual passivity, and control, things that had no erotic nature, and body shortcomings." He growled before spanking you, surprising you. "Yet, we won't have to worry about you not being able to reach your climax; I will assure you of that."
You wanted to talk, tell him that this wasn't him. But before you could speak, he flipped you over, your chest to his. His usually cold and serious eyes had full-blown pupils and looked wild. You wanted to argue and tell him it was unprofessional until the audible sound of fabric being torn alerted you that something was clearly not going the way you were thinking. What you thought was a scare tactic, was something really horrible or really exciting, depending on who you are asking when it came to the man before you.
You realized he had torn off your clothes, he then pinned you to the desk, his lips on your neck as he growled for you to remain silent. You knew you needed to stop, that he was only feeling the effects of the mushroom you, yes you, had been studying for its possible medicinal qualities, just as the Qingxin of Liyue and Wolfhook of Mondstadt had been.
"You will be a good girl for me or do I need to teach you about Loyalty, my disobedient yet exotic Calamity." He whispers into your ears.
Part of you wanted to scold him, telling him you know what calamity means but before you could open your mouth, you felt something around your legs and looked down to see blooming vines sprout from the nearby samples you brought back from outside the city. The vines bound your hands and feet to the desk, ensuring that your escape idea proved to be null and void.
"The only things I wanna hear you say are 'Yes Sir' or 'No Sir' along with thanking me. I will make you behave one way or another for even talking to another man in my presence." Was all that muttered from him before he stole your lips with his.
Your mind went from a million miles an hour to absolutely nothing as he took control. And, without warning, his thick fingers entered your folds, causing what you thought would be a whine to stop, to come out as a cry of pleasure.
"Please...please" was all you could mutter as soon as his fingers rubbed and teased that one bundle of nerves . You had never done anything like this to your body yet, it was no denying that it felt so good; it felt right.
“Please; Please what, my little temptress? Please go faster?” He teased, moving 2 fingers now in a slow and deliberate motion. You wanted to cry but instead of the desire to run from him, it was from lust. “Such a beautiful sound from you. Moan more for me.”
As he spoke, you made the mistake of looking down. The scene before your eyes was that Alhaitham already had his pants off and, oh boy. That monster between his legs made you mentally drool. It was at least 10 inches, veiny and thick. It was standing at attention and seemed to already be leaking. Suddenly, you feel him hit a spot inside of you. You were not paying attention to him or his magical touch before suddenly feeling the pressure of being penetrated. You felt tears welling up in your eyes as he shushed you.
“Shhh, such a good calamity with a beautiful vice-like grip on my 2 fingers. I can tell you are a novice. Consider this a reward for all the good work you do.” He praises and placates you as you feel what could only be described as a euphoric high he was helping you reach. It felt so wrong because he was technically your superior but in its own way, it felt so right. Like this is why no one else attracted you until you met the smart mouthed scribe that most thought was too egotistical for his own good.
You suddenly felt something about to snap inside of you, almost like it was a too taut rope about to break under the pressure. You were trying to desperately hold back from letting it snap and you gasped as he covered your hand with his hand. He was originally holding his cock with it yet here he was intertwining his fingers with yours as the tears fell from your eyes. You looked up at him, an urgency to let something explode hitting you as he smirked.
“This will be one of many orgasms I will give you. Go ahead, cum all over my hand like the little slut you are.” He spoke darkly as the feeling of something snapping inside of you breaks and out comes a sudden rush of unfamiliar fluids. He smirks and keeps going with his fingers. You gasp again as more fluids gush out as he moves between your legs.
You go to tell him to not do that, that it is possibly unsanitary but a sudden feeling of euphoria erupts as his long hot tongue begins to lick up the fluids. It was a rush and judging by the moans he gave between your thighs, he was enjoying this too. In no time, another orgasm hit you just from the action his tongue was giving your little bundle of nerves. Despite your panting and whining, he rises and licks his lips.
“As sweet as a Zaytun Peach; just how I like my snacks.” He emphasized as he locked eyes with you as your juices dripped from his chin. It looked embarrassing but he seemed content. He then tightened the vines and smirked as he lifted his cock again, making you unconsciously drool again. “I see you like what you see. Don’t worry, little one, I will be gentle but first, I need you to provide lubrication to it.” He spoke in a husky voice.
Confusion must have been evident on your face as he lifted his own throbbing member. You went to open your mouth in an exclamation but when the tip entered your mouth; all thoughts of forming a functioning coherent sentence went out the moment he entered your mouth. It was salty and slightly musky but he did keep it trimmed so you didn’t have to worry about choking on pubic hair. He grunts and forces his member down your throat and that's when you realize he was staking his claim, not just using your saliva as his lubrication.
“I know I am being rough but I know you can take it. Besides, you run your mouth with your constant lectures to me, why not put your mouth to better use as my personal toy.” He growls and his words make something inside you excited but also a little rebellious. So, in an act of defiance, you hummed around his tip and that's when it felt better to take him deeper into your throat.
“Fuck’s sake…are you trying to kill me?” He growls and makes it damn near impossible to breathe.
“For now on, I am the only one you speak to here. None of the others or even the Sages. I am the only one you will come see, you will crave this by the time I am done.” He threatened before pulling out of your mouth and throat. You took in the air, coughing and choking on the sweet oxygen. You remembered what you wanted to ask but the look in his eyes said to focus on him and him alone.
“We’re going to get into trouble, are we?” You ask, looking up at Alhaitham as he tilts your head up and leans down. You close your eyes and feel his lips brush against yours, his right hand caressing your face. His lips were like pillows but also seemed to have a certain spark to them. You could compare it to being shocked but also, it felt like your body was burning in the fires of Natlan while also freezing in the icy winds of Snezhnaya .
Alhaitham whispers, “You say it like you are innocent. You haven’t been innocent since the moment I laid eyes on you.” He growls. “We won’t get caught as long as you keep your voice down.” He then closes the distance between you two.
Your surroundings become blurry afterward, and you find yourself propped up on his desk. Your arms are trembling beneath you; both of your hands are planted on the wooden desk, and sweat trickles down your face and splatters on the wood below you.
“The safe word is Flower…do you understand?” He mumbled into your ear. You could only nod before he spanked your ass with such force, you were sure it would leave a mark. “Do you understand?” He repeats.
“Yes Sir” you breathed.
“Good little one” He smirks as a small whimper escapes from your lips as you shut your eyes tightly, biting down on your lips as you try to refrain from letting out a single sound. The feeling of Alhaitham’s cock sliding in your entrance makes your eyes roll to the back of your head. You then realize he had only gone in about an inch, you still had 9 more to go.
"Keep your voice down...unless you want all of the Akademiya to know how much of a slutty girl you are." He murmurs out the warning as you could feel how violent he was with your body, especially between your legs. “Besides, I told you, I am ensuring that you only think about me and I am sure that judging by the look on your face, you look ready to die of ecstasy already, my little Calamity.”
He was not wrong as you knew that if it already felt this good, you could not wait for the other 9 inches. Yet, before even a whispered word could be said, a sudden and violent thrust pushed you into the wooden desk. An audible gasp is heard from your mouth as you hold the edge of the desk.
“Going to break already-”
"Sir, harder, please" You choked out quietly as he smirks and what you thought would be a kiss turned out to be a bite, claiming you physically so others could see you were not to be flirted with.
"Such a glutton already, aren't we? I never took you for that but now, I can clearly see that I had miscalculated so much about you.” He grunts as he thrusts harder.
You were seeing stars in the dim office you both were in. The only sounds you could hear was labored breathing, the sound of skin slapping against sweating skin. You thought you were dreaming but that was until he pinned you harder to the desk.
"So, tell Tighnari that those mushrooms you found have an aphrodisiac effect and can be used as such....now, I wonder if Mr. Kaveh would miss his spare key.” He smirks after several more thrusts and then looks down at you. “Clean yourself up; you and I have work. After work though, I will bring you back home with me, make an honest woman out of you.”
By the Archons, this smug bastard will be the death of you yet you are not complaining. You just hope tonight will entail more of that sweet sweet power dynamic.

Have We Met Before? // Chapter 1
Fandom: Genshin Impact Ship: CynoNari
Summary: In ancient times, Hermanubis’s priests and warriors worked together to suppress Forbidden Knowledge. Among the Tighnarians, one stood out. Cyno decides to investigate Tighnari and whether he could be a spy for Gurabad. (CynoNari, Reincarnated Soulmates AU)
(Ch.1) //
In Tulaytulah, the City of Sapphire, a verdant tourmaline caught Cyno’s eyes. He sat in the stands and his eyes followed Tighnari across the amphitheater. He stood out among his fellow fox hybrids in the Tighnarians. His fur was a rich green rather than the golden hue of a desert fox. He carried a tall stack of books in his arms yet they remained perfectly balanced as he weaved through the crowd. He had the pose of a warrior despite claiming to be a mere doctor.
Tighnari came to Tulaytulah only a few months ago yet everyone he passed happily waved to him. His growing popularity was due to how he helped the citizens with their research, no matter the topic. Could there be more though? There had been whispers of an eremite uprising after the fall of Gurabad. Tighnari could be a spy for a rogue group of mercenaries. His tall ears could be a disguise to gain their trust.
Cyno sensed a powerful presence descend towards him but he didn’t take his eyes off Tighnari. The ground trembled when Dehya landed beside him. Her expression was hidden beneath her lion mask but he could hear her teasing smile in her voice. She addressed him with the title that King Deshret gave him. “Has the wise Hermanubis decided that the desert is finally at peace and he should take a mate? You won’t look away from him to greet your old friend.”
“Last month, Tighnari came seeking shelter in exchange for his medical expertise. We already have doctors but we couldn’t turn him away. Since then, he has involved himself in the Temple’s record keeping and the farmer’s harvest. For him to take such interest in Tulaytulah’s infrastructure… He could be a spy or planning a coup. I should’ve been more prudent before inviting him into the temple. King Deshret left Tulaytulah in my care.” Cyno bit his lip. “What should I do, Shesepankh?”
“You’re too harsh on yourself.” Dehya gently placed her hand on his shoulder. Almost a century had passed since King Deshret sacrificed himself. Despite the time that passed, the loss still laid heavy on the heart of his seven sages. The weight was further exasperated by the duty left to them. To suppress the lingering Forbidden Knowledge, Rukkhadevata created seven towers. Each sage was tasked with maintaining a tower and fighting Forbidden Knowledge.
Tulaytulah was created from Nabu Malikata’s tears and was deemed the City of Sapphire. King Deshret cherished the kingdoms that his lost lover built. Cyno had never been in love before but he saw how deeply a single emotion ran through his king. As Hermanubis, he was the one to lay their king to rest. King Deshret held a flower and thought of her even in his last moments.
Cyno vowed to honour King Deshret’s final wish and protect Tulaytulah with his life. The city held memories of both King Deshret and Nabu Malikata.
“The Temple of Silence holds duels to welcome new members. Sparring with someone will help you learn more about them. You can challenge him to a duel.” Dehya suggested. “The least you can do is speak with Tighnari as yourself. No matter whether he’s truthful with you or not, you can judge his intention directly. You’re able to sense when someone lies to you.”
“Humans are more open with Shesepankh than Hermanubis. The lioness who fulfills King Deshret’s will is easier to approach than a god who follows death.” Cyno sighed. He never tried to change his reputation as a death god because it deterred humans from attacking Tulaytulah. Now, he worried that it made his own people fearful of him. How could he approach Tighnari without making him uncomfortable?
Dehya slipped off her mask and smiled down at him. “King Deshret gave me the title of Shesepankh but I still treasure the times when he called me Dehya.”
“You call me a Valuka Shuna but I am not a desert dog. I am a fox. While our ears are similar, it’s important to record things accurately.” Tighnari’s voice reached Cyno from across the empty courtyard. He scanned the garden from where he sat on the stone gate. He found that they were the only two present. Who could he be speaking to?
Tighnari sat on the ledge of the fountain and flipped open a book in front of him. Cyno caught a glimpse of a green creature rising out of the fountain to meet Tighnari’s hand. However, it returned to the water before he could see what it was. “Here is a picture of a jackal and this is a fox. Can you see the difference in the ear shape? Wait, don’t move too quickly, Arama. You’ll make the pages wet with how you’re splashing water everywhere.”
Was the creature a messenger animal from Old Gurabad and his suspicion of Tighnari were true? He leaned closer to the ledge and tried to see it better. Cyno couldn’t move from where he sat without alerting Tighnari that he was watching him. He slipped off his jackal mask and his eyes gleamed. The sand at his feet took the form of a scarab and became his eyes. With his alchemy, he could control the scarab to collect information on Tighnari.
He was focused on the fountain and he didn’t sense someone approaching him. A powerful force against his back made him lose his balance and he fell from his hiding place. Cyno cursed beneath his breath and tried to summon his spear to stop his fall. A fog clouded his mind and he couldn’t gather elemental energy into his hand.
He crashed into the ground and a dull pain ran through his body. Luckily, as a divine spirit, he was able to recover quicker than a human. He started to push himself to his feet and faced the person who pushed him from the wall. A panicked voice made him pause. “Are you okay? Don’t move while I check where you’re hurt. I’ll give you first aid and then find someone to help move you to the hospital.”
Tighnari knelt next to the man and he placed his hand on his shoulder to stop him from sitting up. A person who fell from such a tall height would inadvertently have broken bones and moving would worsen those wounds. With that thought, he tore the hem of his long robe to make a splint. He examined the man’s body and became confused when he found him unharmed. He lightly ran his finger over his toned arm and traced his muscles to search for broken bones.
“There’s no need to fret over me. I wouldn’t be hurt from something so trivial.” Cyno pushed his hand away and sat up. He turned away from him but Tighnari caught a glimpse of his reddening cheeks. He wondered if he was blushing due to embarrassment.
Tighnari’s attention was pulled away from him when his green companion jumped onto his lap. He quickly tried to push the Aranara back into its hiding spot in his tail. It became impossible to hide Arama when it yelled: “Why did you push the Nara, Aranakin? He has a pure heart. The Valuka Shuna said we can only use our ararakalari on bad Nara. Do you want to return to Vana?”
“I don’t like being here in Valuka. Sand is coarse and rough and irritating.” Aranakin argued and crossed its tiny arms. “You may sense a good heart from this Nara but I was him watching Tighnari! He must have bad intentions. I was protecting both of you.”
“What are you?” Cyno’s question made the two Aranara stiffen. Realizing that they had accidentally revealed themselves, they scurried to hide behind Tighnari. However, it was already pointless. Tighnari reached behind him and placed a light hand on their small head. He thought of how he should tell him about the Aranara. He could feel the suspicion in Cyno’s gaze.
“They’re not dangerous.” He quickly reassured him. He lifted Aranakin into his arms and then held him out to Cyno. Their adorable appearance was unlikely to dissuade him when they had attacked him “Aranakin, apologize to him. You’re here on behalf of Rukkhadevata and your action will reflect badly on her. Arama confirmed he has a pure heart and he’s wearing a Temple of Silence uniform. He’s…”
Tighnari’s voice trailed off and his eyes narrowed. He didn’t recognize the man. Though he moved to Tulaytulah only a month ago, he knew most of the priests. His friends didn’t mention a new priest joining the Order either. The Temple of Silence had a rite where new members would duel with Hermanubis to be accepted. The outcome of the fight was insignificant. Hermanubis claimed that he could determine a person’s character from a simple sparring.
“Who are you?” Tighnari asked. The man was a stranger yet a vague memory played on his mind. He couldn’t say that they met before. He was certain that he would remember someone with pure silver hair and striking red eyes. “Have we met before?”
Cyno could hear the suspicion beneath his question and became confused. Most would recognize Hermanubis immediately from his mask. He touched his cheek and realized that he wasn’t wearing his mask. He started to answer but then Dehya’s words echoed in his mind. Perhaps, this could be his opportunity to investigate Tighnari closer and learn his intention.
He quickly thought of a lie: “I am the priest, Cyno. I have been away from the Temple of Silence for years due to a pilgrimage. It seems like a lot has changed since I left. When did Lord Rukkhadevata send envoys to the City of Sapphire? The Temple of Silence has been able to maintain Forbidden Knowledge on our own. Is there a reason she sent them?”
“No, these two wandered into the desert by themselves. They got lost and eventually found me. They saved my life.” Tighnari curled his dark green tail around the two Aranara. Cyno could sense that there was more to their meeting but he didn’t push him to explain. “It’ll be difficult for Arama and Aranakin to travel back to the rainforest alone. So, I’m taking care of them. I told them to stay hidden. The ruling elite of the Eremites are distrustful of people from the rainforest.”
“But Lord Rukkhadevata was the one who helped restore our kingdom. She sacrificed so much for us. Has no one taught our own history to the people?” Cyno’s brows furrowed in confusion.
“A lot has changed during your pilgrimage away from Tulaytulah. I will tell you more while we walk to the infirmary. You don’t appear injured but I’ll feel better if I can give you a proper examination in my office. You fell ten feet.” Tighnari was still suspicious of how Cyno could survive the fall and Aranakin’s spell. For now, he was a patient and he would treat him.
Tighnari stood and held out his hand to help him stand. He took the opportunity to study him further and try to discern more about the stranger. Cyno had the uniform of the Temple of Silence yet he appeared far from a simple priest. He forgoed armour and wore the scars on his chest. What did his pilgrimage entail for him to return so battleworn?
“There’s no need to fret over me. I heal quickly.”
Tighnari rolled his eyes. He proceeded to examine his body and checked if he had a concussion. Cyno could’ve easily pulled away from him but he allowed him to continu. Sitting close to him, he could smell the rare scent of orange blossom in Tighnari’s fur.
“Why is everyone in the Temple of Silence so stubborn? A check up will only take five minutes and then you can return to your books.” Tighnari’s gaze shifted to the Temple of Silence that stood proudly above the palace. “Though, the ruling elite can be more diligent in their studies like you. The only knowledge valuable to them is what can expand their rule. Humans are fickle things.”
“The Temple of Silence has been preoccupied with Forbidden Knowledge. We entrusted the city’s governance to the nobles of Tulaytulah. They go to Hermanubis and his priests for guidance but they never mention a power struggle with the other kingdoms.”
“I work for both the Temple of Silence and the palace. I overhear a lot of conversations.” Tighnari was initially a record keeper for the Temple of Silence. Due to the lack of doctors in the desert, he also became the village’s healer. His two positions allowed him to watch each fraction within Tulaytulah. “The Temple of Silence is loyal to King Deshret but the kings wish to have a new era of rulership. Do you think they would voice those thoughts to the priests?”
“I have to report this to Hermanubis.” Cyno groaned to himself. The Temple of Silence was strong but they needed to focus on quelling Forbidden Knowledge. An internal struggle with the ruling class of Tulaytulah could stretch them thin and threaten to break them.
A warm touch against his cheek made him look up. Tighnari’s fingers moved through his hair. Their eyes met and Tighnari quickly dropped his hand back to his side. “Sorry, I wanted to check if you hit your head during the fall. It’s not swollen nor do you have a bump. You appear fine but I want to stay with you a little longer in case you have a concussion. If we’re going to spend the day together, may I ask you a question?”
Cyno nodded in answer. He assumed that his question would be simply about his pilgrimage. Then, Tighnari asked: “Have we met before? You feel familiar to me even though we’ve never met before.”
“You must be mistaking me for someone else. I only returned to Tulaytulah today.” He hoped that Tighnari wasn’t suspicious that he was Hermanubis. Valuka Shunas had sharp senses so there was also a chance that he knew that he had been following him for his investigation.
“I guess you’re right.” Tighnari relented but there was a hint of disappointment in his voice. “Let’s go to the Temple of Silence where you can rest properly.”
“I am the Scribe of Scribes. Do you honestly expect me to forge fake documents for you? You’re the last person I expected to make this request, Hermanubis. We served King Deshret together. You’re the most righteous of us. Moreover, you know I don’t enjoy extra work. It’s troublesome.” Alhaitham sat across from Cyno and pushed the stack of paper back to him. “Why would you pretend to be a simple priest for the Temple of Silence when you’re their leader?”
“It’s for an investigation. People will be more open to tell their secrets to Cyno than Hermanubis.” The Temple of Silence kept an extensive record of King Deshret’s knowledge and his followers. They would easily discover his lie once they discover that ‘Cyno’ had never been a part of the Temple of Silence.
Cyno repeated Alhaitham’s words to him. “We served King Deshret together. You should know that I wouldn’t break my own principles unless necessary. This is to investigate something that a Valuka Shuna told me about Tulaytulah’s rulers. I must confirm if they’re a threat.”
“I hope that you have thought through your plan.” Alhaitham said as he signed the documents.

Sapling: Nahida x baby reader.
Age: 3 months old: reader Chan is a baby that the Aranara found, Nahida comes to visit the Aranara and is given a task to take care of reader.
Nahida also known as Lesser Lord Kusanali had just entered Vanarana to visit the Aranara.
As she walks in she sees the Aranara surrounding something that is making a sound “What’s going on?” Asked the young but wise archon as she walked over to the little spirits “Lesser Lord Kusanali, we found a tiny human Nara but we don’t know what to do.” An Aranara said as the others moved to show the archon of wisdom a baby girl with H/C hair and forest green eyes, she had a little cowlick in her hair that looked like the propellers the Aranara had on their heads and she was wrapped in a green blanket.
You couldn’t help but gurgle and coo at the creatures standing around you as they spoke about what to do with you until a gentle voice was heard “Where did she come from?” Nahida asked picking you up “She was at the gates this morning Nara.” One of the creatures said as you cooed up at the girl “Well we can’t leave you by yourself little sapling.” She said adjusting your blanket “Why don’t you take her Nara.” An Aranara suggested “Perhaps I’ll make her my sister, what do you think little sapling?” She asked as you cooed but soon made a happy squeal “I’ll take that as a yes. But if you’re going to be my new sister, you’ll need a name.” The young archon began thinking up names until a voice spoke How about Y/N Nara?” An Aranara asked “Ohh I like that, Y/N it is!” Nahida said happily as flowers started to bloom around her “Let’s celebrate.” An Aranara said happily flying around making you squeal again.
A small party happened in Vanarana to celebrate you becoming Nahida’s new little sister making you and the young archon happy as games were played, food was eaten but you were given mashed berries and music was played as well.
Hours later:
The Aranara cleaned with Nahida’s help while you slept on a flower.
After Cleaning up Nahida grabbed you, said goodnight to the Aranara and began her journey back to the city while trying to avoid monsters and the Fatui along the way.
When Nahida got back to her sanctuary she drew a bath for you and used her powers to creat a cute outfit that looked like an Aranara she even had your blanket washed.
In the morning:
Nahida happily carried you down to Sumeru where the citizens greeted her and complemented on how cute you were “NAHIDA!” Said a familiar high voice making Nahida look up to see the Traveler and Paimon walking and floating towards her “Traveler! Paimon! Long time no see, how’s Fontain?” She asked excitedly “It’s amazing there and the underwater scenery is beautifu.” Paimon said while the traveler looked at you with their golden eyes “Who’s this little cutie?” They asked making Nahida smile “This is my new little sister Y/N! The Aranara found her at Vanarana gate yesterday and they nominated me to be her guardian.” The young archon said happily as you stared up at the fairy creature with curiosity “Hello! Paimon is Paimon and they are the traveler.” The fairy said as you cooed and gurgled at her “Lesser Lord Kusanali! traveler! Paimon!” Said a male voice.
Turning around they see Alhaitham, Tighnari, Cyno, Kaveh, Collie, Nilou Wanderer and Layla all walking towards them “Oh hey guys.” Paimon said enthusiastically “Good morning everyone.” Nahida said smiling while you looked at Tighnari’s ears in curiosity “Who’s the kid?” Cyno asked pointing to you “This is Y/N, my new little sister.” The dendro archon said happily “Hi Y/N I’m collie.” The young greenette said happily “She’s so cute.” Nilou gushed out “Would one of you like to hold her?” Your new sister asked “How about you hat guy?” She asked making you look up at the young man wearing a hat that reminds you of Ararycan’s cap “Tsk I suppose.” He said walking over and gently taking you in his arms while Nahida gave him instructions on how to hold you.
Once you were in hat guys arms you snuggled into his shirt making him smile a bit “Looks like she likes you already.” Alhaitham said placing a hand on your little head.
It was now noon and everyone had to go to their respective duties leaving you and Nahida, once everyone left Nahida decided to take you for a walk outside the city so you could see more of the nation “That’s Liyue! The nation of Mora and contracts. Ironic given that Morax never has mora on him.” Nahida said as you gazed at the nation on the other side of Sumeru borders “Good one Kusanali.” Said a high pitch voice making the young archon turn around to see her four senior archons Barbatos of Mondstadt! Morax of Liyue! Ei of Inazuma! And Focalors of Fontain “Who is this young dew drop?” Focalors or as she’s known to the citizens of Fontain as Lady Furina asked making the other Archons curious “This is Y/N my new little sister.” Kusanali said happily as you looked up at the four older Archons making them smile “Hello little blossom.” Ei or Raiden Shogun said gently taking you into her arms “Well little one looks like Kusanali made a contract to watch over you.” Morax or Zhongli said “Hey little dandelion uncle Venti can teach you how to play music and write poetry.” Barbatos or Venti said “And auntie Furina can teach you about opera and the rules of Justice little dew drop.” The hydro archon said making you squeal from all the attention you were receiving.
After the walk you, Nahida and the other archon’s went to the city and went into the sanctuary for a supper that Zhongli made while Nahida went to get the rose custard she made this morning after breakfast while you laid in your new bouncer “And that’s how we got the traveler into the Fortress of Meropide.” Furina said finishing her tail on what’s been happening in Fontain and the prophecy until Zhongli and Nahida came back and set plates around “So what did you guys came to Sumeru for?” The young archon asked taking a sip of bamboo shoot soup “We all got convinced to take a vacation away from our nations.” Venti said happily taking a sip of Dandelion wine that he brought from Mondstadt with some Wolfhook juice for Nahida (since she looks to be 8 or 10) “And because we heard about the ex sages of Sumeru finally getting exposed .” Shogun said taking a sip of Wine “Its about time those so called sages finally got what they deserve.” Venti said “Although it feels like their punishment isn’t enough.” Zhongli said taking a sip of the wine making the others nod in agreement until they heard that you were getting fussy “What’s wrong sapling?” Nahida asked until she heard your stomach rumbling “Let’s get some food in you.” She said giving you to Zhongli whom is starting to go into doting grandpa mode “Hello little one.” He said as you played with his tie earning a chuckle from the ancient archon and a gentle tickle from him until Nahida came back with mushed peas in a bowl that you happily ate “You must have been hungry.” Nahida said feeding you as the oldest archon held you on his lap.
After dinner:
After everyone ate, Ei and Zhongli washed the dishes, Furina cleaned the table and Venti put the left overs away, then all the older Archons went to the inn they were staying in after bidding you and Nahida goodnight.
Once you and Nahida were alone she took you to the bathroom and drew a bath for you both.
After both of you are bathed she’s dressed in a pastel green night gown with puffy sleeves, forest green accents and her hair is down while you’re in a white night shirt with F/C flowers on it, after your both dressed for bed she lays you down in your new crib that the traveler made for you with a mobile that had different elemental fungi on it, you had many Aranara plushies in the crib and your covered by your freshly washed blanket.
After putting you in the crib Nahida read you a story book called Flowers for princess Fischl “Then the Prinzessin Der Verurteilung and her kingdom lived happily ever after! The end.” Nahida said closing the book and smiled upon seeing you asleep “Goodnight Sapling.” She said kissing your head, walked to her cot, turned off the lamp and fell asleep looking forward to what tomorrow brought.
