Launch of Apollo Pad Abort Test 1

The Pad Abort (BP-6/PA-1) vehicle lifting off from LC-36 at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico. This test flight was to investigate the effects on the Apollo spacecraft during an abort from the pad. It also tested the pitch motor and launch escape motor of the Launch Escape System (LES).

"The LES had to be able to pull the spacecraft away from an exploding rocket on the launch pad. The LES then had to gain enough altitude to allow the command module's parachutes to open, preferably with the spacecraft over water and not land.

The flight featured a production model LES and a boilerplate (BP-06) Apollo spacecraft, the first mission to feature one. The spacecraft carried no instruments for measuring structural loads as the capsule's boilerplate structure did not represent that of a real spacecraft."

There it is! My Toony Awards entry! I've waited until the awards day to post it, even if I was too impatient for it AAAAA

As you can see scrolling my blog, I'm IN LOVE with the supervisors. Their designs, their music, their battles and how all shows each personality of them is something that just enchanted me. That's why I decided to participate doing a tribute to them and their bosses. I'm not used to work digitally, so the whole drawing was a challenge for me and I'm very happy with the result.

If you didn't watch the awards, I can tell you that...I didn't win and I wasn't a runner up. But I wasn't expecting to win or anything, I just wanted to show my appreciation to the supervisors and make a contribution to the ToonFest from Latin America!

I also want to congrat Nicole, Chance and David for winning and being runner ups! 🫶🏼🎉

Things are tough in the Finch household right now, Cookie's too sick to go to work and Oscar's too busy & tired to get anything done properly. He's tryna scrape enough money together to get the bills paid and the heating system fixed, but it's not going so well! Sid and Ally have been helping here and there but Alton's a bit rubbish and although Sidney's much better with the kids she's pretty strict, which Oscar isn't a fan of. Still, beggars can't be choosers!

decided to throw up some pics from my current rural exile, mostly the view from over the top of my monitor at my 'office'

row 1: cow doordash and then the line following it up to the buffet (new hay in the rack)

row 2: (L) every morning as the sun comes up the cows migrate from the lower field to the upper, where the sun will hit first and for some reason they stand in an almost single file line. so it's like a cow traffic jam on the AM commute (R) group trip to the water cistern

row 3: (L) extremely round borbs staying warm (R) Mr. B, the bravest of the 3 semi-feral cats that live in the basement. He'll come up and roll around on the carpet and even let my dad pet him but if anyone else moves, he shoots off like Quicksilver despite his portliness
