moving into the space about my fitness journey where it’s more about how i feel than how i look. it’s not about getting more attention because im not interested in dating, it’s not about having more sex because i had the most sex at my biggest. i want to establish discipline that I will benefit from for the rest of my life. i want to have visible muscles and get stronger. i want to lift heavy and learn how to fight. i want to feel confident in my clothes and know that i worked damn hard for my body.

i’ll always have the utmost respect for the body i grew up in and maintained through most of this decade. i have had my moments of loathing and disgust, but i’ve also felt the switch to appreciation and awe. this body has carried me through so much but, alas, it’s time for a new one.

perhaps this is the true regal rebound, after all.
