The Audi R8 will forever be renowned as the flagship of the German automaker and their slogan, “Vorsprung durch Technik”, meaning “Progress through Technology” is more evident than ever in their line of R8’s. While Audi decided 2 vastly different trim levels of their latest supercar would best serve the consumer, the most elite drivers chose the V10.

I have read time and time again that the V10 was built to make you feel special, while the V8 was built around driving experience. Yet, I have come to my own conclusion: anyone that states the V8 is the true driver’s car, must not have had their V10 Audi R8 VR Tuned.

This is not to say the Italian engineers at Lamborghini didn’t do an absolutely marvelous job with Audi’s 5.2-liter V10 (yes you read that correctly), but they left so much on the table because they weren’t just going to let Audi have their cake and eat it too. It’s all-too-common knowledge that the R8 and Lamborghini Gallardo share an engine. However, what’s less commonly known or understood is the concept of de-tuning. BNHA X Cars

KaminariSo, this is basically BNHA Street racer AU. But to be more precise I’m picking the cars for the characters from BNHA. Because cars have characteristic, it has personality and it describes you as a person. Not just based from the body but the engines and the car as whole. So, this is my pick of cars for the character of BNHA

Part 1 For the boys

I’m going to divide it into 2 cars. One is for daily drive/Sports car and the other is The Supercar. The Sports car will describe them as characters individuals. While the Supercar will describe their full potentials.

Midoriya Izuku

Midoriya Izuku, The protagonist of the Anime. He is too good of a boy to mess around street Racing. The Color for his car is obviously Green, in that case I Recommend Him.

Sport car/ Daily Drive:

The Mitsubishi Eclipse GSX.

To be more specific. It is Brian’s First car In the Fast and the furious franchise (R.I.P Paul Walker). This car is one of the Tuners favorite car to modify. It is run by 4G63 Engine, it is the same Engine that run an EVO F*CKING LANCER which is one of the finest cars that has been made on earth (Minus the Turbo). So it plays well with the whole inheritance thing with All Might.

Supercar:

For the supercar, I would Recommend McLaren 675LT

This car Look Great In green. The whole characteristic of this car reminds me of Midoriya. This car shown how it can blend to the society, how it was able to move fast and aggressively while at the same time maintaining Elegance. This car looked slim, but its performance is something else 3.8 L V8 Twin Turbo Rear Wheel Drive (RWD) Gives the ability for the driver to drive like a maniac. The car produces more or less 675 Horsepower (Just like its name) and can go to 0-100 Km in 2.9 Seconds and a top speed with 330 Km/h (205 Mph).

Bakugo Katsuki

For Bakugo, His car has to be loud and Fast! He needs a car that’s intimidating. For the color I’m Thinking Red, Yellow or Black. But since the car need to look Antagonizing, I’m going with black. So, the car that I propose.

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

Dodge Charger SRT Hell Cat 2015

This car is a 6.2L Hemi V8 Supercharged. The roars in this car is nothing short. This car is for sure is Intimidating. The roar of the engine is equivalent to Bakugo’s Roar of explosive anger. I was considering the newer one like the SRT Redeye Hellcat or even The Demon. But the demons is more of the inner demon screaming trying to get out. It needed a Rumbling sound of the V8, The insane roar that is deafening.

Supercar:

For the Supercar, it is very difficult. I can choose Hyper cars but they just felt a bit too well mannered compared to Bakugo. But I’ve given a lot of thought and the only car that fits is This

Pagani Zonda R

This car is basically an f1 with a two-seater and a roof. This bad boy is a track only car. So, it is “Street Illegal!!” But that won’t stop Bakugo for using this beauty. This car on high rev speaks will be all the explanation needed on the reason why I chose this car. A car with 700 BHP and only weight 1,070 Kg (In comparison Ford focus weight 1,471 Kg) Which is like a feather.

Todoroki Shoto

For Todoroki His car has to be cool, matured and Luxurious but also High performance. I’m a bit mixed up with the colors Whether I should make it blue or white or red. But since I cant decide I leave it in the ‘Grey’ area. Get it? Ill just get on with it.

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

Aston Martin DB11

Aston Martin is well known on it’s Luxury and History. Which fits Todoroki’s Prince aura/Characteristics. The performance is also nothing short, Aston Martin is also well known to make a brilliant Engine for racing. A twin turbocharged V12 Produce 600 BHP with a top speed 201Km/h (125Mph).

Supercar

For the Super car, I think Lamborghini Huracan Performante.

It is a naturally aspirated 5.2L V10 Engine AWD. This car has a fierce fiery engine on its car but still has that cool matured Body. And the ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) Is brilliant. It is an active Aerodynamic system that allows the car to go faster.

This car is perfect fot Iida, It has a look in which my friend quote “Sophisticated Look”. And Mind you this car is probably The Fastest Car! For the sport/daily drive Car compare than anyone else in the list. This car packs a crazy 800 BHP and that’s says it all

Supercar:                  

The fastest Car In the world! In 2010. The specific look that I would like to go is Drift From Transformer: Age Of Extinction. That Blue Lining is perfect for Iida. For some people engines might be boring, But this car have the power of 1200 Horses in it

Kirishima Eijiro

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

The car that this Manly man need to go with is the 2020 Mustang Shelby GT500.

The Engine has a named called the “Predator” V8 Engine. 750 BHP is nothing short and the roar from within is on par with Bakugo’s SRT Hellcat.

Supercar:                    

I was having second thought of choosing this car. But whenever I think of Kirishima in a car, This car always pops into my head

Lamborghini Adventador SV. This car Looked manly and menacing. Why I thought about this car, is that it associated it self with a bull in which Kirishima and this car can relate to. A loud V12 Engine roars loud and deep in a intimidating voice and its perfect.

Sero Hanta

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

For Sero the car has to be traditional but still a good car nonetheless. So I pick A classic Porsche 911 turbo 1982.

It is a classic sports car, It is tunable which make the car run fast.

Supercar:                    

Ferrari 458 Italia

This car is a normal Aspirated V8 with a high rev engine. It creates something Revolutionary From something traditional.

Kaminari Denki

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

It has to be the SUPRA!!!!!!          

This car is definitely a meme, it fits with Kaminari Personality.  Seeing them is like “WTH ARE YOU DOING?!” Because both Kaminari and the car would do something ridiculously stupid.

Supercar:

For the Supercar I Would say The Lexus LFA

Lexus is one of the Artistic Legacy of the JDM Cars. It is one of the legendary Supercar that ever existed. The Normal aspirated V10 Sounded like Pure Thunder striking down on the earth. Sound menacing and amazing. It fits for Kaminari Racing Persona (Or even his villain Persona).

Mashirao Ojiro

Sport Car/ Daily Drive:

Ojiro is a traditional Japanese person, So his car has to be totally Japanese. My pick have to be The S30 Fairlady Z.

To be exact the RB26 Swapped Fairlady Z from Sung Kang (Han’s Actor car from “Fast and Furious”) And that’s all I need to say about this car.

Supercar:

For the Supercar It has to be the last piece of The JDM Legend. It is The GTR R35 NISMO.

This car is perfect for Ojiro, They both are the Representative Character of Japan.

Audi Celebrates 20th Anniversary of First Le Mans Win 

Twenty years ago, Audi’s R8 race cars crossed the finish line of the Le Mans 24 Hours race in 1-2-3 formation. The Vorsprung durch Technik brand’s sports car racing program ran for 18 years, during which time Audi won the epic endurance race 13 times – a 72 per cent success rate. We hear from Denmark’s Tom Kristensen, who won for Audi in 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005, 2008 and 2013, and celebrate the cars that beat the opposition, and the clock.

Tom Kristensen won Le Mans nine times. Here, he recalls Audi’s first victory in the famous 24-hour race in 2000. 

‘I was invited by Doctor Wolfgang Ullrich, then Audi Head of Motorsport, to a meeting at Ingolstadt in autumn 1999. He introduced me to some of the Audi Sport engineers and mechanics, and showed me a drawing of the R8 race car.  On the spot, I said I would like to be part of the team. We shook hands, and that was the best decision I ever made in racing.’

Victory first time out ‘I tested the car before the 12 Hours of Sebring in the US in March 2000. It was an interim car between the older R8R that Audi had raced in 1999 and the new R8. The front end was still the old car, while the rear was from the R8, but Frank Biela, Emanuele Pirro and I won Sebring in it, which was very important.’

A strong team and a level playing field ‘At Le Mans 2000 I drove with Biela and Pirro again, and we had two sister cars – one crewed by Laurent Aïello, Allan McNish and Stéphane Ortelli, the other by Christian Abt, Michele Alboreto and Rinaldo Capello. Dr Ullrich showed great commitment and passion, and he made sure that we all worked well together and shared all the feedback. He ensured we all had an equal chance and that there was never any additional support for one crew over another. Dr Ullrich always did his utmost to create a level playing field, and that was very motivating, not only for the drivers but also the mechanics and the engineers.’

Reliability was the number-one priority – and it paid off ‘Some people would say Audi took a conservative approach with the R8, certainly compared with some of the more state-of-the-art and – shall we say – ‘bananas’ race cars that followed. The philosophy was, “If there is any problem, we need to be able to fix it,” and that came all the way from board level down. The number-one priority was reliability. Without reliability, you cannot have 100 per cent trust in your equipment, and you cannot perform. It was the perfect approach for Le Mans.’

Finding one set-up to please three different drivers ‘The R8 was the first LMP1 Le Mans prototype I drove with power steering. I was used to heavy steering that took a real effort to turn into corners, which gave me a lot of confidence. It took me some time to get used to the lightness of the R8’s steering, whereas Frank Biela was very happy with it. He used to say, “It gives you quick hands, and you can control it faster.” But it took a long time to get the set-up right for everyone because the input from the drivers was different. Eventually, it became smoother and more progressive, and in the end we were all happy with it.’

A wild ride at Le Mans ‘We had a bit of an issue with the brakes – we had to change discs and pads. The car was very fast, but in that first year the twin-turbocharged V8 engine had a lot of turbo lag, followed by a very aggressive response. It was like a delayed time bomb – nothing, nothing, and then BOOM! That improved a lot the following year when Audi introduced the FSI system, which injected petrol directly into the combustion chambers. That was very helpful for the drivability of the engine, and it was also a lot more efficient and an excellent development for road cars. The first R8 had a lot of understeer, too. So, you had a car with a wild engine response that was set up to feel settled and more consistent as the tires wore, but as a result  felt quite nervous and twitchy on fresh tires.’

Drop your guard for a split second and you're off ‘In an LMP1 car you are going at the speed of a small aircraft, and you are just trying to keep it nailed to the ground. You always have to be alert. The cars are very aggressive at the limit. If you are alone on the track, it’s fine, you can be calm. But in traffic, or in close fights with your rivals, you always have to look out for aerodynamic upset caused by the slipstream of other cars, which can buffet and bounce your car around. These things aren’t visible, but they can be pretty dramatic, and if you don't expect them, you can be sure you will go off when they arrive.’

It’s not over till the final minute ‘We were holding the lead towards the end of the 2000 race. Frank Biela was cool as ever – as long as you gave him time to have his cigarette. He was fit, he was strong, he was calm. Emanuele was always Italian – always emotional, you know? Ready to celebrate the victory before the end, which was something I hated. Maybe you would say my approach was pessimistic, but I didn’t want anything – no handshakes – before the checkered flag.’

Crossing the line 1-2-3 ‘About 30 minutes before the end, Dr Ullrich froze the race order, and we were able to cross the line 1-2-3. And the colors of the cars were red, yellow and black, as in the colours of the German flag.’

The R8 went on to become the most successful LMP1 car ever ‘The Audi R8 won four more Le Mans, and I was part of the winning driving team each time. This turned into a long one. I hope you enjoy.

I have been passionate about cars since I can remember. It was the first thing I remember being passionate about and has remained one of my greatest passions. In particular, sports and supercars. I spend endless hours on YouTube salivating over them.

By my mid 20s I was saving up to get into a Z4 and after a bigger than expected pay rise I was fortunate enough to get into a Z4MR. Photos here. It has been an incredible experience with the peak being a 4,000 mile drive around the mountains of Western Europe. Videos here and here. Yes, I still have it.

I have been debating a step up for the last year or so. The full journey is a bit of a story but the short version is that last week I finally did it and bought this Audi R8 Spyder - 2010, V10, Manual in Sepang Blue with Black Leather and the options I cared about.

In this post I am sharing my (on reflection, apparently considerable) initial impressions. If you would like to know more about the car, my journey to getting it or anything else please let me know.

So, my initial impressions:

DRIVING:

Power - Naturally a significant step up from the Z4M and you can feel the difference in the acceleration. Quite simply, you are moving a lot faster a lot sooner – that sounds obvious but sometimes the most obvious things are overlooked and can be the most impactful. Specifically, when you are hurtling towards a corner with more weight, with more width, lower down and at higher speed than you are used to, you notice it and your adrenaline pumps. However, the difference in the acceleration is less pronounced than I expected and I think this is because of the way the power is delivered. Specifically, to me the Z4M feels more 'raw' where the R8 is more 'smooth' or ‘progressive’. It may be that I am not yet driving it that hard or in the sportiest setup, but it feels like the accelerator pedal mapping is more progressive where the M felt more sharp. Additionally – and I don't know if this is due to the engine being behind rather than in front, the type of engine, the 4WD or the weight – but the R8 feels more like a 'wave' or 'surge' of power vs the Z4M feeling a bit sharper but a lesser sense of thick/weighty momentum. It just keeps building in the R8. The Z4M would shock me for a second and then I would be accustomed. The R8 is more like a rollercoaster that just keeps piling on the speed and you find yourself screaming after 3 seconds rather than immediately.

Handling - to be honest, it is too early and I am too amateur a driver to be able to pull it apart in a forensic, academic way. However, my regular human perspective may still be insightful. My biggest surprise is with the mag-ride suspension. The R8 is considerably more compliant and comfortable than the Z4M. Even once firmed up you can still feel the mag-ride there - you are suspended by firm liquid rather than solid springs. Whether this is desirable is subjective to the person and context. It is brilliant for when you want the smoother ride as you cruise across country or navigate a town, but I think you don't get quite the same connection when you are going for it vs. the Z4M. That said - there are other things that heighten the experience such as the speed (more above) and noise (more below). It’s definitely a big net ‘gain’ in terms of experience so I will take the added comfort. Otherwise, steering and brakes are I am sure different, but I am yet to really pull it apart. I will likely retrim the steering wheel to get closer to the chunky M wheel.

Sound - perhaps the most important thing to me in terms of eliciting a deep emotional reaction. My Z4M has a non-OEM exhaust and the same is true of the R8. Both sound great in different ways but the R8 is considerably more special. The Z4M first – the i6 NA engine sounds great, especially with an upgraded intake. The roar of the engine is the highlight of the Z4M sound for me. The exhaust is also great. Mine came with a Hayward and Scott exhaust. I later had stock but had to go back having become to accustomed to the H&S. The upsides are that it is louder and gives it more mid-tones in the lower revs and amplified the rasp and made it more raw in the higher revs. The downside is that it drones. Next, to the R8. This has a Top Gear F1 Valved exhaust. When closed it is relatively quiet, delivering a low, deep but muffled rumble. You know the power is there, but it is non-intrusive. Great for cruising. Once the valves are open you have a deep, throaty rumble in the low revs, an exciting raw in the mids and a ferocious, roaring scream in the high revs. It sounds exhilarating on the open road and scary in a tunnel. It is incredible. I will try and capture it on video.

EXTERIOR:

I loved the original R8 coupe when it launched. I remember seeing a black V8 Coupe for the first time turning a tight city corner and it looked extremely cool. The black paint, carbon blades and LED running lights giving it a low, powerful, panther-like presence. The V8 sounding menacing. I was wowed. I still feel that presence when I see a black V8 Coupe today. Other colours don’t conjure the same memories or emotions. The V10 Coupe also doesn’t have the same impact. The small differences giving it a slightly more rounded and less sleek look to my eyes. I still turn my head when I see one, but it doesn’t blow me away like the black panther I saw 12 years ago.

I have a thing for convertibles/roadsters/spyders. The exposure to the elements. Driving the road and experiencing the environment and the car. Heightened sensations of sight, sound and smell. I also love the looks of a drop-top. This is true for the R8 as much as many. While it loses its iconic side-blades, it gains a set of ‘fins’ across its back, in two silver spines that complement the silvery shimmer of the fuel cap, tail pipes, wheels, and contrast the black aerodynamic features at the front and rear of the car. In V10 form it looks as sleek and menacing as the V8 Coupe, but with a different presence. The alloys and V10 distinguishing it, along with more subtle touches. Letting you know it is something special and serious. It may not be as dramatic or beautiful as an Italian supercar (the 458 Spyder being my personal dream), but it remains special to me.

I could go on. To save this being any longer than it already is – I love the somewhat subtle but still impactful waves and ‘hips’ over the wheel arches. I love the alloys – although I am going to get mine cleaned up and refinished without the polish chrome look (a bit too bling for me). I love the front lights – the eyes of the car, and the LED running lights. It looks best with the roof down and spoiler up, but still looks good with the roof up.

The colour choice was an easy one for me. Its subjective of course, but I don’t think red works that well on the car. The black is good but I think you lose sight of the subtle shapes and the contrast vs the aero features. Silver isn’t for me. The white is nice and I was considering it, but the silver ‘fins’ and wheels have less presence as they lose contrast. The dark/grey/charcoal looks great and I would have tested one if there was one available – although it is perhaps too subtle for me (the R8 doesn’t have the swoops of a Ferrari or edges of a Lambo to maintain presence in a flatter colour). The blue to me is beautiful. Bright, yet rich. It makes me think of the tropical ocean. Echoing memories of the vivid pictures Pixar delivered in Nemo. Flickering in the light and drawing you in. It contrasts both the silver and black on the car and strikes a nice balance of stand out beauty that I think any supercar needs, without being outlandish or brash. I love it.

INTERIOR:

I sat in a V8 Coupe last year and the interior turned me off the car. It was black leather, with all features in black leather. Stitching was black and so was the paint. The switch gear and dials are smart and solid, but not beautiful and – against all the black – seem boring. Most importantly, after the Z4M the interior felt too spacious. The distances from left to right and from wind to rear screen (over the ‘parcel shelf’) felt comparatively vast, almost like a lounge after the R8 and I felt less connected to the car and the environment as a result.

I was nervous I would find the same with the V10 Spyder but was delighted when I didn’t. There are several differences that to me explain this. First and most importantly, in the Spyder you lose the ‘parcel shelf’ behind the seats that gave it an airiness. It sounds like a small thing, but the interior in the Spyder felt intimate again. I think the roof line is slightly lower as well and the roof shape a bit tighter which may add to the sensation of being central and connected. Secondly, for me a few important options considerably elevate the cabin. Primarily the carbon ‘sigma’ interior details. I don’t buy into the trend of covering everything in carbon, but the few elements in this interior lift it above your average A4 and make it special. Another subtle but to me impactful option is the white/silver/titanium contrast stitching. It is one of those small things that I think makes a big impact.

Otherwise, I am happy with the interior. The seats aren’t as exciting and beautifully sculpted as some newer seats – but still look good to my eyes (thank you again to the contrast stitching) and are comfortable and supportive. The manual gated gear stick is of course famous and certainly a stand-out feature in both design as well as the mechanical tactility and engagement it delivers. The switch gear are all fine. Not beautiful or special, but solid, smart and add to the organic and mechanical feel. Surprisingly, the wiper/light/cruise stalks don’t feel as solid as the ones on the Z4M. Not that important but less impressive none the less.

I nearly forgot one of my favourite features of the car! The ability to drop the rear window. Meaning that even with the roof up you can be exposed to both the sound of the engine and exhaust – right behind your head, and the sounds and smells of the environment around you. It is brilliant.

The front luggage compartment is small. No doubt it would be better to have more space. I could take the Z4M away for weeks, which will be much harder in the R8. But when it’s a NA, manual V10 Spyder this to me becomes near irrelevant. I’ll make it work!

OWNERSHIP:

There’s no getting away from the costs. Being one of the last NA, manual V10 500+bhp cars for relatively moderate purchase and running costs, I consider it a relative bargain and reasonably ‘safe’/low depreciation risk expenditure. However, it was still a huge amount of money to spend in one go and I am aware (and ready) for the running costs. It is by far the most I have ever spent outside of a house and I had to take a huge brave pill to be able to do it, that took me a few weeks to swallow before I committed. To be frank, I am glad to have owned it for a week or two now as I am starting to get accustomed to the car and build some distance from the expenditure, and so can enjoy it rather than constantly worry about it.

Another major concern is the negative environmental impact of the car. I am very conscious of climate change and the negative human impact on nature (another love of mine). To keep things short – I have been learning about how to calculate and offset your carbon footprint (and broader environmental impact). There are websites that can estimate your carbon footprint and tell you where you can donate to in order to ‘offset’ it. Truthfully, I think we should just not do bad things. Rather than do something bad and then offset it. It makes me feel guilty. But this is a childhood dream, I have worked hard for it and I have had a really tough 18 months so I am letting myself enjoy this and planning to over-compensate to try and make a net-positive impact. If I can’t afford to do this, I shouldn’t have the car.

It is too early to comment on ownership otherwise. I am holding my breath and hoping for the best. The car has a full history with all in order and feels great.

Range Rover Evoque Car Review

First of all, let us admit that this is the most profound Land Rover vehicle ever since Charles Spencer King installed a Chrysler V8 engine into the very first Range Rover car. It uses the latest direct injection and advanced turbocharging resulting to an authoritative pulling power coupled with clean and smooth response. From as low as 1200 rpm, it delivers impressive torque and at high speeds the power can hit 190 bhp if you could stand that. There is also a twin independent variable valve timing that allows economy when the driver is circumspect with the pedal and haste when he turns lead-footed. With the economy of a three-cylinder, the growl of a five-cylinder and torque commensurate with a V8, this car truly has the best combination synonymous with motoring preferences.

Performance

Range Rover's TDV8 engine now available in the Vogue and Sport models may have won the Automotive Engine of the Year Award but it would find it so hard beating the Evoque's torque that if at all it did it wouldn't try again. Actually with the pedal to the floor figures in the windows could not move faster if you were in a low-flying aircraft. Power has a dead stop somewhere, but torque hasn't. Infact at speeds exceeding 200kph the flourish of the trumpets start to fade. It delivers 336 lb ft of torque and a top speed of 140 mph or 225 kph. Powerful engines are characterized by low rpm's at high speeds, and at 95km/h the revolutions are astoundingly low at 1600 per minute, which is arguably the most economical state of this car.

The suspension

This is surely the best take on this car - the dampers in question here are none but magneto-rheological ones where suspension stiffness varies in real time. This is determined by the prevailing conditions and is controlled by an electric current together with billions of iron filings in the shock absorber fluid. You may not come across this kind of technology everyday and perhaps its your first time, but this is how it works: when the current is off especially on steady surfaces the little metals float about giving a comfortable and supple feeling. During sharp cornering, an electrical current runs along the metal casing of the shock absorbers causing the filings to bunch up together and stiffen the suspension, thus improving handling by eliminating body roll. You don't need to drive the exquisite Audi R8 to experience such a feeling.

Handling

Other Range Rovers will have five road pre-determined conditions ranging from snow to off - road and though the Evoque hasn't such, it has got style of its own. Find a road winding like a puff adder's back and neither the steering nor the suspension nor the tyres will give in - absolutely remarkable! You will also be impressed that steering at 50mph yields no understeer, tyre squeal or body roll. The engine is also so quiet that pedestrians may have to look back not because they heard the engine purr but because they heard you speaking to the passengers!
