Oh man I have a lot of thoughts after that last neverafter episode (SPOILERS AHEAD)

Specifically about the little mermaid

There is so much about the little mermaid the story starting as a story to express queer feelings and pain and seeing that reflected within mira herself.

From a existential standpoint it makes absolute sense that Mira would want to rebel against her story in some ways. She lost her voice, her prince abandoned her, and whenever she moves she is in pain. If anyone would want to be freed from the happily ever after the fairies are aiming for its her.

Because her story doesnt end happily not really, her option is to turn into seafoam and ultimately become a wind spirit.

I really really hope that mira's story ties back into the authors themselves. How much are these stories a way to enact cruelty and in what ways are they to express pain?

I am sure its not that deep but given all the queer subtext in the little mermaid's story just...brennan don't let me down

When Neverafter started, I was enjoying that Brennan seemed to be leaning into the horror aspect and then the crew dropped episode 12, one of the funniest actual play episodes I've enjoyed in recent times
