Hi Anon👋, I’m not really taking requests but I had to jump on this one. However I can't promise all future requests being answered quickly because I've got studies to focus on but I will try and do as best as I can. Aaron arrives at his place at the early hours of a new day. However he just wants to collapse in bed and forget about yet another near death experience. All gear on the floor only left in boxers and bandages and dried up blood. He escaped gunshots but not the sharp end of the blade. A non life threatening gash on his arm and the side of his abdomen. Chugged a few pills and was ready to get knocked into sleep.

Not even five minutes into sleep, his phone vibrates on his night stand. Great another thing to do. He semi consciously picked the phone and answered without looking at the name id. Not that there was one.

"Hello," he answers. Not a word back. If these scam callers where trying him he was going to find whoever they were and end it there.

He kisses his teeth and no longer wanting to entertain whoever disrupted his not so deep sleep.

"Is this Aaron?" Hearing his name got him into defensive mode but relaxed a bit when it was from a feminine voice.

"Who'er you?"

The woman tells her name and it rings a faint bell in Aarons head. He's heard the name before. Where though?

"Do I know you?"

She seemed a bit hesitant to tell but she spit it out anyway after taking a deep breath. "We've hooked up a few times many months ago."

In his head he's thinking it's another chick wanting to see him again or wanting to move things further by being in a relationship with him. Makes it clear to them from the start that it's not like that at all then blocks them. It boosts his ego a little.

"Look, I thought I had made it clear that it was a two-three time thing then we don't talk anymore. I'm not looking for relationship or sum," he said immediately to clear any confusion.

"What? That's not it. I have something very important to tell you," she says.

Nothing could have prepared him for what she had to say next. She sounded nervous before she took a breath to speak.

"Well...... I ended up pregnant. I gave birth to a healthy baby. I found your number and called to let you know. Listen and listen carefully. If you want nothing to do with the baby, that is fine. I just thought you should know. I didn't say anything while I was pregnant because I was focusing on me and my baby and in case something might have happened. And I didn’t have it in me to get an abortion," she said so clearly and calmly.

He heard right? Oh he heard right. Was he too tired and drugged up to believe it or was this for real. She gives him the time to process the news. Once all her words were digested he asks…

“You sure it’s mine? How do you know it ain’t anyone else’s?” He asks confidently.

She takes some air in quickly as if being accused of whoring around. She wasn’t gonna let that slide.

“You’re that last person I slept with. Even then I wasn’t hoe. Never was, never will be ok. Look we were both careless. We didn’t use condoms but I was on birth control which ultimately proved that it’s not as effective as I thought it would be. I’m giving you the choice to come see the baby or to leave the matter completely.”

She was serious in her tone. So believable. Maybe it was the tiredness causing him not to think straight but…..

“Send me your address.”

I could not sit still. Walking back and forth trying to find something to do to distract me. It's still early morning, slight heavy rain falling and sliding from the top to the bottom of the window. The baby was ok, asleep in the bouncer, slowly rocking. I try to sit on the sofa but my leg just keeps bouncing, with the tv on but not my attention on it.

That dreaded call ended about an hour ago and by the sound of his voice, he was serious.

I flinch at the sound of the buzzer. “Hello?”

“It’s Aaron.”

With not many words I buzz him in. Now in a few moments things could go right or left. This is right, right? I gave him options. That's a good thing right? I definitely didn't want to be one of those women who don't let fathers see their child for no reason. Thoughts stop swirling when there is finally a knock on the door. No more time for hesitation but the doorway felt so far.

Aaron POV

I'm soaked from the rain. It took me being inside the apartment complex to realise. All this time it wasn't on my mind that it was pouring outside. There's an elevator but the stairs seem quicker. I skip a step each time until I'm in front of her door. No time to hesitate. I put my fist against the door to knock.

The door opens with her standing behind it. I most definitely remember now. I’ve been with her more times than I’d like to admit honestly. Can’t lie it was the best, not that I’d admit it to her face. Now seeing her, she has a glow that I hadn't seen before.

"Hi"

"Hi umm sorry bout being soaked, its raining like shit outside."

She gives a small laugh and tells me to come in. I remember I've been here before a couple times. Her place always smelt nice and looked clean. I take my jacket off and hang it by the door. I follow her down the short corridor to the living area. We both turn to the living room.

"Well. Here she is."

In the corner of the room, a baby swing with the smallest human possible as cute as can be a sleep, protected from world. I sit on the sofa before my legs give out. She said 'she'. A girl. I have a daughter. I hold my head in my hands. She sits next to me and put a hand on my leg to calm me down.

"I know it's a lot to process. Believe me. I had the same reaction when I found out I was pregnant. All the worries left when I first held her. It was instant love. Sorry I kept it from you."

"Nah I get it. Whats her name?"

"Her name is Tiana."

"Its a beautiful name."

I don't know what came over me but the need to protect her came out of nowhere. Protect her from every evil out there. It's crazy to think she is a part of me. But what about me? It on dawns me that I hold the role of prowler. Am I good enough for her? Am I strong enough to protect her? Am I man enough to be her father. Am I going to end up abandoning her like my father did? All these thoughts consuming me all at once.

"Would you like to hold her?"

I look at her and she has a reassuring smile encouraging me to hold her. "I don't know how."

"Neither did I but I learned."

She stands and walks over to this sleeping angel. She picks her up and walks up to me. I hadn't met Miles until he was a couple months old, so I have no experience in holding a newborn. I sit up and back and open my hands. She's so small. I don't think I've seen something so precious in my life. My hands are almost the same size as her.

"Don't be scared. Here, move your arm to support her neck and then your other hand holds the side."

She helps me hold her comfortably. With all this fuss she moves around waking from her sleep. Shit here it comes. Big brown eyes stare at me with a twinkle in them. We are both strangers to each other but she has to have trust in me and I never would dream of breaking that trust. A grown man like shouldn't be feeling emotional but here I am. She was right. It was love at first sight.

"She's so beautiful."

"I know right. Big eyes, a cute nose and a head full of hair. She got that part from me."

We both break out into a short laugh.

I hesitate to ask the following questing seeing as we are not together. "What's her last name?"

"I put mine and your last name together hyphenated. If you don't mind."

"It's nice."

We spend the rest of the day just talking, actually getting to know each other. She works as a nurse at a hospital, I told her I do engineering which isn't a lie. I use it as a cover up from what I do other times.

"I have a nephew, my older brothers son. His names Miles. He probably would wanna meet Tiana. Is that cool."

"I don't mind, it's cool she has cousin."

We met at a diner, we talked and it seemed like we were both after the same thing. No relationship but a stress relief. Semi strangers with benefits kinda thing. No personal questions and no feelings.

Looking at it now, that might change now that she had birthed my daughter. Speaking of her she starts stirring in my arms and looks like she's about to cry. Her lips quiver and starts crying. It's hasn't even been ten minutes and I've failed.

"She's probably just hungry. Let me feed her."

I slowly had her over to mom. All of a sudden she lifts the side of top and puts a boob in her mouth. This looks private so I look away to the whatever was playing to the tv. She starts laughing at me though.

"What? It's not like you've never seen them before."

True. I can't look at breasts the same. All this time they were just sexual thing to me but its not even like that. It's a personal connection between mother and child. I change the subject. I ask her how old Tiana is and she tells me only four days old.

"So you're fresh out the hospital then? Was it not hard?"

"It was hard. I couldn't drive because I was still sore from giving birth, so my friend drove me back home. She's been such a help these past few days. Cooking and cleaning for me but she does have a job and her own family to take care of."

"Hold on. Don't you only get a few weeks off work before you have to go back."

"Yeah. Around twelve weeks and then I have to go back to work. Some weeks are even unpaid."

"Well that's stupid."

"Tell me about it but hey, I didn't build the system. Here burp her."

She hands her to me then leaves.

"Where you goin. I don't know how to do this."

"Relax I'm just getting her cloth so she doesn't throw up on you"

She can back as fast as she left, put a pink cloth on my shoulder and move her to my shoulder.

"Just pat her back until she burps."

She gets up to leave and looks like she's heading into the kitchen.

"What you bout to do now."

"I'm a bout to cook. You've got her so I have the time to."

"Nah order some food. Get some rest."

Took some time going back and forth but she sat down. Same time as Tiana finally burps. I move to get my wallet and hand it over to her.

"You know you have a lot of faith in a stranger."

"Same stranger that birth our baby."

"Hilarious."

She orders some food. Time goes by and it eventually comes. We ate, talked. Looking outside, I realise time has gone by fast. Looks like it time me to leave. I get to lay her down back to sleep in her swing.

"Looks like I gotta go now."

"Oh umm thanks for stopping by and seeing her. You make a great father you know."

Her words struck me to my heart. I want to be the best dad to her. Better than my father ever was to me and Jeff.

"Come by anytime. Oh here's your card."

"You hold on to that."

I grab my jacket, say my last goodbyes to both of them but man I so don't wanna leave. I might come back tomorrow. I grab my phone and start calling.

"Hello?"

"Jeff. I need to talk to you."

"Talk."

"I have a daughter."

"That poor woman."

"Ay now ain't the time for games. Me and her we cool. Yeah we were irresponsible but I stepped up. Think about it, you're an uncle now."

"I've been an uncle. Rio has siblings that have children."

"On our side stupid. Anyway can I take Miles to see her tomorrow?"

*The next day*

Jeff has allowed Miles to come with me to see Tiana. But he doesn't know that. I'm trying to surprise his since he wanna keep asking questions talking bout 'how come I don't have a cousin on your side?'.

"So what spot are we painting today."

"We're not doing that."

"We've been walking for so long. Where are we going?"

"You'll see man, just be a little patient. Don't wanna ruin the surprise."

"Surprise!?"

We arrive at apartment complex. I ring up and I'm let inside. The confused looks on his face makes me just wanna laugh but I can't give it away. We get to the door, knock on it and wait.

"Hi guys, come in."

Miles walks shyly behind me until we turn the living room.

"Miles meet your baby cousin, Tiana."

The look on his face is just priceless. Ain't never seen him so confused. He looks at me then at her mother then at Tiana again.

"You have a daughter. Wait does that make you my auntie?"

"Umm well..."

"Yes it does. See I told you. All those questions bout 'how come I don't have an auntie'. Well you got one now."

"It's nice to meet you Miles. Your uncle has told me a lot about you."

He breaks into a nervous laugh. "Unfortunately I haven't heard about you but it's nice to meet you. So uhh how you guys meet?"

Silence

"That's not important. Here come hold her."

Needless to say besides Miles being so puzzled, he was so happy that he has a little cousin. Since then Miles had come to visit and see her many times after school and during the weekend and has seen her grow. Rio and Jeff came later on with gifts. Rio was beyond excited. Jeff was just as surprised as Miles.

"Your family is really nice, I like them a lot."

"Yeah. I've got a present for you too."

I take her down stair to the parking area. Her eyes could have popped out their sockets. Her mouth open so wide, you'd thing her jaw dislocated. In front of us a white Range.

"Oh my gosh Aaron wha- what's this?"

I dangle the keys infant of her and drop them in her hands.

"People call it a 'push present' if I'm correct. Oh and that card, spend it on our daughter."

"You are spoiling her to the core and she doesn't even know what money is."

"Only the best for my baby girl. Besides I wanna try this mom and dad thing. That's if you want to?"

"We could do that."

Or perhaps, there was something unique about You. Your overly cheerful personality. It sickened him. What could you find so happy in this hellhole? He hated how You always found a way to pull Pomni back up on her feet after a prank he pulled. He hated how You and Ragatha had managed to form such a close bond together. He hated how you'd always comfort Gangle after her mask broke. He hated how You care for that crazy old chess piece, Kinger. He hated how You made even Zooble smile. But most of all, he hated how You made him feel. He has been stuck in this digital circus for so long, he thought he was having a heart attack when You first talked to him. The ping in his chest was something he hadn't experienced in a long time. And he wasn't that welcoming to it, either.

He tried his best to make You hate him. He pulled pranks on You, made jokes about You, believe me, he's tried everything under the sun to make You hate him. In the end, he just started to avoid You entirely, but somehow, he always wound up right back to You. Was Caine playing a joke on him? You had noticed the change in Jax, who wouldn't? Thinking he had just given up on trying to play his pranks on you, You approached him. "What's wrong, Jax? Where is your usual cocky self?" He ignored you. Which was really weird of him, but did You give up? No. You kept pestering him, kept trying to talk to him, trying to see what would make him tic. Zooble found it funny and teased him a lot because of it. You had decided to take it a step further and just started outright flirting with him. Calling him "cute" and stuff. When Jax first heard this, he quickly turned his head away. Thinking you had offended him, You quickly apologized. "It's nothin'. Just go and bother that crybaby instead."

it was nice it was just me and my kid brother rewatching the cars movies over and over i even got really into cars 2 !! a fun movie actually!!! then me and him watched all the cars shorts and yeah it truly did just all start when my brother saw the cars movie in the selection of movies on disney plus and picked that to watch

thoughts about KH before i got into it:

for some reason i was under the impression that the games were about a boy who has dreams about disney worlds. and he has regular size feet in the real world and only has big feet in the dream world. i also think he traveled with mickey and not donald or goofy

also for some reason i was under the impression that ventus was sora's dad. it was not until i actually watched the cutscenes in birth by sleep and saw lea and isa that i realized OH. this is NOT as far back on the timeline as i thought it was

images of a spiky red boy and a spiky blond boy and a black haired depressed girl eating ice cream together with lots&lots of people sobbing in the replies. (REALLY emphasized the slow creeping emotional dread of that game for me. like golly i sure hope i dont get emotionally destroyed like all those other people! and then i , was)

when i was in middle/high school i had friends who were super into it, but i was never able to play it because my parents had a policy of No Consoles. we were allowed to have handhelds, though, because my family took frequent road trips, so when i found out that there was a KH game for DS i said to a friend "oh, cool! dyou think id be able to play it without playing the other games?" and she looked at me, and looked at her copy of Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days, and said "........no"

thoughts about KH as i was getting into it:

last year my husband listened to a podcast called "lore dump" where people explain the lore of different media to each other, and they did an episode/series on kingdom hearts, and i heard some pretty WaCkY sTuFf (i specifically remember them explaining what the recusant's sigil is, in the context of xigbar explaining that they'd been tracking sora and riku through the story of DDD)

found a vod of one of my favorite streamers streaming 1 and 2 to benefit abortion rights in texas, and i was like, well, here's my chance, heh, im gonna understand all of the WaCkY LoRe

i start up the stream. within the first 15 minutes i Get it. like it feels very dated in a lot of ways but i instantly understood what made people connect so strongly with this series. even as someone who didn't grow up with any attachment to it, and was a little put off of it even by how into it my friends were, to me kh1 is just pure high octane nostalgia. the tone is so specific and warm and bittersweet. i cried multiple times during the ending. it just really got to me! i was hooked!

when i fixate on a media property i like to have a hot person to chew on. i really. really thought it was gonna be axel. he is exactly the kind of character i would've fixated on when i was younger, when i had friends who were into KH. older mentor figure character who takes younger characters under his wing. associated with fire. projects brash confidence. k,ills people. he's a really good character! i love him a lot! every time he appears on screen i get on all fours and start barking! and there's all this fanart and merch and...then i got distracted......

Syudou- syudou is the producer who directly inspired the post i made about tuning (which is im assuming why u sent this ask lol)! the way he tunes vsynths for his songs tend to be very high-pitched as well as somewhat soft and quiet, which i absolutely adore. however, his unique tuning can be pretty offputting for some people (cough cough the insane amount of hate ive seen for jackpot sad girl & usseewa voca versions cough cough). if youre looking for good, unique tuning id defo say check out his stuff if u havent! specific recs are cute na kanojo and jackpot sad girl

Guchiry- guchiry is one of my all-time favourite producers, and has some of the most unique tuning for vocaloids ive heard. guchiry also usually goes for a high-pitched sound, but it's in a very different way. honestly, the way he tunes is kind of hard for me to describe?? idk... its definitely the type of vocals that a human could never replicate (this is proven by the fact that there's almost no human covers of guchiry songs LMAO). plus the way he tunes works extremely well with the intense, fast-paced instrumentals he usually goes for. honestly you'll just have to take my word for it and check out his stuff. specific recs are vanish and orthodoxia

Ayase- ayase's miku is one of my favourites ever!!!! he, like the two producers above, opts for a tuning in a higher range. there is also a soft quality to his mikus that i think is really nice. the thing that makes his tuning really unique is the fact that he leans into the robotic-ness of vocaloid! this style of vocals works so unbelievably well with the chill, electronic style of instrumental he often uses, and makes for some incredible stuff that human vocals just cant capture. specific recs are cinema and ghost city tokyo

sasakure.uk- if you thought that ayase embraced the robotic sound that vocaloids can produce, sasakure has practically buried himself in it! i think that sasakure's work is most notable to me for the fact that (in my opinion) his instrumentals stick out more than the vocals? and not in a bad way! not at all! its just that the way he tunes his vsynths is in such a fashion that they feel like part of the instrumentals. like, instead of the music feeling like it's a vessel for the vocals, the vocals instead blend into the instrumentals in a really unique way i havent heard with many other producers? the way sasakure tunes and uses vocaloids is something so distinct, and something that can really only be done through the medium of vocal synthesizers. specific recs are amara and future eve

Hiiragi Kirai- hiiragi takes flower, a vocaloid i find already sounds pretty unique, and goes fucking crazyinsane with her!! his flower tuning is so unbelievably cool and unique, ive srsly never heard someone use her in a way like he does. he makes her voice sound intense, harsh and growly which is seriously soooo sick :D flower's harsh vocals paired with the often intense instrumentals creates a vibe that's almost impossible to replicate with human vocals (the only covers i can think of that have managed to be on par with hiiragi's originals is ado's bocca della verita & loveka). specific recs are bottom and autophagy

Maretu- 😁😁😁 do i really have to say anything here. maretu perfectly utilizes the robotic sound that miku can produce, and makes her sound incredible with the chiptune & rock instrumentals he uses!! the vibes in maretu's original songs are so fucking good and ive (afaik) yet to find a cover that's on par with his og stuff. listen, you're asking for vocaloid recs on the maretu blog, this is a given. specific recs are koukatsu and white happy

im not sure exactly how much this counts as unique tuning, but im putting it here anyways... the way miku and meiko are tuned here are different to how ive often heard them sound before, with a bit of roughness to their voices that you can only get via a vocaloid

really cool high-pitched tuning that expertly blends miku's & kafu's vocals! the vocals also work perfectly with the spooky vibes the rest of the song has! if you like this you'd probably also like unfriendly hater, which doesnt stand out quite as much to me as being unique but is still equally as good

i fucking love this song sm... miku's vocals are so robotic (i feel like ive used that word a lot...) which works suuuuper well with the instrumental and, with my incredibly limited knowledge of kagepro, works really well for ene's character!

the sheer insanity of this song can really only work with vocals provided by a vocaloid. listen to it and try and tell me that a human's vocals could improve on this... you cant (also pls listen to the song bc its really good)

p.h is an INCREDIBLE song, and it has such wild vocals. somehow seventhlinks manages to make flower sound more unique than she usually does, and it creates such a cool vibe for the whole song!

YESSSSS it was so good!!!! sorry for the late reply, i just wanted to write out something detailed for this but didn't have the time!

id been planning to go for a while and i'm so glad it worked out! it definitely lived up to my hype, it was amazing!! ill give some very un-expert and very rambly impressions i had, but PLS let me know if you have specific questions about any details or scenes or choices :D

also i apologize im not a True fan of these 2 actors and i dont remember their names so ill just call them by their characters DHSJD

first off heres the set and playbill!!

i was kinda surprised because all the promo pictures seemed to show them wearing modern suits so i thought it was gonna be a modern setting, but it was just colorful old timey clothes! (sorry im not very knowledgeable on costumes, my main impression was just "oooo fun clothes")

oh one costume note is that one of them was wearing a green suit with a blue waistcoat, and the other was wearing a blue suit with a green waistcoat!

another unique thing about the production is it was split into 3 acts, like the script does, but most productions just do 2 acts!

i really enjoyed watching this, both ros+guil were super funny and the audience was laughing the whole time, even near the end like when guildenstern's breaking down, which i honestly enjoyed-- even when it's horribly tragic, it's STILL kiiinda funny. also i liked guildenstern's accent

in my opinion the acting was great all around, i kinda enjoyed the hamlet scenes and how they were acted seriously, since i'm always conflicted on if r&gad should make the hamlet parts serious or not! also guildenstern and rosencrantz's serious and emotional bits hit me so harddd (as in both of their monologues about death i guess)

there was a lot more use of obvious lighting and sound design than i feel like is typical for r&gad? but i enjoyed it!! i'll talk a bit more about that laterrrr

they also had some singing from the tragedians, once in their first entrance, and once replacing the ship noises at the beginning of act 3, which was very fun

one big difference was after the final scene w horatio, they blackout and go back to the initial positions and do a single "heads!" which was GREAT, i don't think i've seen anything else make the time loop that explicit??

ok and now just some rambling about interpretations

so part of me before the play started was like "i've watched/read/listened to this play SO many times, i hope it's not just boring and same-y and i don't realize anything new."

AND THEN. near the end of the first scene where ros+guil come across the tragedians. i was like HOLY SHIT and realized an interpretation that i've never thought of before.

(this might be a Super obvious interpretation and i'm just slow but whatever.) it occured to me that the moment that the tragedians are about to put on a play for ros+guil and the scene suddenly shifts to hamlet, it could be interpreted that the rest of the play is just the tragedians putting on one of the classics for ros+guil, and them getting "caught up in the action".

of course this doesn't make sense with Everything in the play, but it's SO fascinating to me and it recontextualizes a lot of stuff, like making it so that ros+guil are just fucking around backstage and onstage trying to figure out their roles the whole time in this play that's suddenly started around them.

also there's a couple choices that i think support this interpretation, like tending to switch to a warm stage-y lighting whenever scenes from hamlet are going on, and switching back to a cool neutral whenever ros+guil are "offstage".

plus, i think this happened a couple times but notably when hamlet is doing his "to be or not to be" speech and rosencrantz is trying to figure out how to interrupt him, there's this super interesting lighting effect where they have a spotlight on the BACK of the stage where hamlet is, and these lights near the bottom of the stage that give the impression of stage lights, making it look like the stage is reversed and hamlet's on the side facing the audience while ros+guil are upstage. IDK if that makes sense but i was like HOLY SHIT when i realized.

PLUS, im fairly sure all the actors playing roles in hamlet are all also tragedians, AND between each act, they had the tragedians doing stuff like moving the set, sweeping, etc, on stage, which was very fun..

for those of you playing along at home, i made it through the funeral/memorial/whatever. honestly could’ve been worse.

this is long and probably tmi but im processing out loud ig. probably should just keep a journal instead but here we are.

yesterday sucked ass mostly because like. at some point in the last two years since i started law school/moved to canada my father sent me some package at my grandmother’s house. yes this is after i made it very clear i did not want to see or hear from him. years after i made that clear. he did this fairly regularly - tried to give me things or pass messages through my sister or my mother or grandmother. anyway she asked if i wanted it, i was like. uh. No. and i guess she kept it for Some Reason because when i was very briefly at her house before heading to where the memorial happened today she pointed me at a pile of my things she wanted me to look at and there was a package. and on autopilot or something because ive been completely f r i e d out of my gourd this weekend i made the mistake i havent made in YEARS and opened it.

and i gotta say if i were going to ignore my daughter’s very clearly communicated boundaries and attempt to get in touch with her after she made it extremely clear she did not want me to do that SIX YEARS AGO at the time my go-to method of somehow persuading her to drop her decision to go no-contact wouldn’t involve [checks notes] a pearl necklace and a three-plus page letter about how nothing was ever my fault.

threeeeeee and then some pages of self-pitying guilt trip about how everyone turned their backs on him and other people kept us apart (as if that was the problem, the years of his absence rather than the years of his abuse) and how he knows the alcohol was bad but he’s off it now! he’s had such a hard life! i should stop punishing myself and other people! he won’t be around forever! (ISNT THAT IRONIC. LMAO.) after finishing this letter he TWICE decided he needed to add extra bits about how things don’t have to be like this, they can be better, and how im making “uninformed decisions” about him without knowing “the whole story.”

anyways. that sucked and fucked me up real bad but my fiancé and i burned it last night on the beach and i threw the pearls (pearls? really? PEARLS?????) into the pacific.

then today. it was honestly fine. none of his friends seemed to even know i refused to speak to him, as they talked to me like they were assuming i was around all the time and super involved in his life. not sure what to make of that but it made it very easy to smile and nod and thank them for coming and not worry about anything further than that. he knew some cool people honestly. they were pretty neat, and his partner of 11 years, effectively my stepmom, is kind of awesome tbh. no idea what she was doing with him. and also my sister only yelled at me in front of some 50+ people once. for my sister this was a win.

and my brother came.

that was….. shocking. i had been in contact with his mom on and off about this but it was NOT clear at all if he was gonna show up. i figured not, honestly, because he’s so hard to get ahold of and none of us have seen him since 2016. but he came. and he brought his kids. my nephew is going into fifth grade and my niece is starting second and oh my gd they’re great. they’re adorable and funny and such sweet kids and i hand to gd thought id never see them again. now it looks like they’re going to come to my wedding reception when we have one out here so my family can attend something. it’s…. i didnt think id ever see or speak to him again and definitely not the kids. but there they were. i stood next to my brother with his arm around my shoulders and mine around his waist while my mom gave a little speech to everyone who was there thanking them for coming and felt him breathing and couldn’t believe it was real. i dug around in the sand with my niece and my nephew must have hugged me about a half-dozen times. they’re good, sweet kids and my brother is a kind, patient father.

tomorrow’s gonna suck, taking a redeye home, gonna land at like 5 am tuesday and then have to cross my fingers and hope border control is chill with me, this whole situation has been a complete nightmare (except for my wife being there, thank gd) but today was as good as it possibly could’ve been. it’s probably gonna take me a while to really like….. even out from this, i think, but it’s almost over and then i get to live the rest of my life without worrying about ever seeing that man again.

what he did to me is going to follow me the rest of my life but HE won’t because he’s fucking dead and im alive and that means i won.

i definitely plan on posting more stuff for this au (especially about shin and sou because they are my favorite characters hdjdjsjhd), but i keep getting sidetracked from making posts about the story because of my desire to create silly doodles instead… rest assured more content is on the horizon!!

since you asked, though, i can provide you a lil bit of insight into my ideas for the characters!! :D

- for shin and sou, i wanted to focus on the idea of their relationship being more evenhanded, where shin is able to stick up for himself (because as much as i love bullying shin that man needs a break sometimes). i thought it was an interesting angle to play at because i think the both of them can be very cunning when it comes to getting the results they want, and i wanted to explore what it would look like if they worked together as allies while also using that trait against each other… so the mutual identity thefting sort of functions as a show of the uneasy trust they’ve built, if that makes any sense?

- kugie is a very pivotal character in the story, and what’s really interesting to me about her is how her grief over losing her sister would manifest itself differently from kanna’s. i definitely think she’d react a lot more with anger and hopelessness, pushing others away and trying to solve problems on her own. she does warm up to a couple of the other characters though, such as ryoko and kai, and that fuels her a lot more to start working with others.

i also just think she’d be a lot more prone to calling people out for their bad behavior than like…sara, for example? i definitely don’t see her taking shin’s constant lying lightly.

- maple was also very very interesting for me because i had to think about what her life would be like as a human, and also how she would’ve gotten involved with asunaro. i thought it would be cool to connect her with mai, since they’re both bakery gals, and that’s eventually how i came to the idea of her signing the form to protect mai from the organization (and so, mai never gets kidnapped…)

personality-wise, i wanted her to take on an “older-sister” archetype, but also have it be clear she’s already burdening herself with a lot as well. she really just wants everyone to get along…

i know im probably just repeating a lot of what i said in my original post on this au haha, but i worry this post would get overly rambly if i got into specific in-depth story points… though i’m pretty much up for making posts about any part of the story (i’m planning on making one about the dummies soon), so if there’s anything specific you wanna see me touch on first let me know! :D

a. it’s a mission and we got separated from the group. we are on an unknown planet and dont have any signal to comm the rest of the group. we have to try to make our way back to the ship with only each other and the things we have with us.

b. no one knows when it started, but suddenly people have started receiving red ribbons tied to their pinky and the red trails off to their soulmate. not everyone has a soulmate but we are some of the lucky few who have one. follow the roleplay as we go on a journey to follow the trail and meet eachother, and then live life together as soulmates.

c. a diplomatic mission gone wrong when a terrible virus breaks out in the planet. with the ship pulled to pieces and we are stranded on the planet, how will we survive and rebuild the ship to get off world and warn the other planets?

d. it’s a diplomatic mission to bring a planet to the side of the republic, but something goes wrong. dooku has brought his army to stop the planet from joining the republic and we get caught in the crossfire! negotiations are made and dooku has proposed a challenge for us to complete. if successfully completed, the planet may host a republic base. if lost, the planet goes to the separatists.

Sancho’s is a printmaker/spray paint/merch store that i love to frequent. Many of the stickers here are from Sancho’s. I have many more pasted into my notebooks. Sancho is one of those people who’s like… effortlessly cool and you wanna impress her sooo bad and she’s extremely out of your league. Does this make sense??

Anyways this sticker was a collaboration from a guest artist apparently!! She does these sometimes and sells the designs as stickers.

I wish i had my nice notebook on me because i cut out a stamped design from one of her paper bags she gives out to customers who buy things, it’s this giant rat-boy-man-guy dressed like a greaser?? God. She’s so cool. Did i mention that.

Sancho’s sticker!! I think I was with a friend the day I found this one + the other Haring-style sticker. That was a really good day. Not to be sappy but i really love being in community with artists and taking walks in the city and browsing for little treats and chattering away. I feel so warm thinking about days like those. <3

I got this one digging through a bowl of stickers at a tattoo parlour while I was waiting for my artist!!

The tattoo i got that day was a huge trad dagger piercing through skin + a crescent moon. I chatted up the receptionist and she said she just prints them in her spare time and i could take one free <3 i love womun… <3

I take semi regular buses for day-trips to go trawling through the cafe scene in a city about 3 hours away im silly like that and also we dont have nice cross country trains </3 and I sat next to a guy who he remarked upon the sticker and we got to chatting about our tattoos

He was a tattoo artist travelling back home!! He gave me so many recommendations for places to try and i feel so bad i barely remember them all but it was just. Y’know. One of those wonderful experiences from out of a movie where the person you sat next to is cool as hell and human connection wins over zoning out for 3 hours to podcasts LMAO

I need to write about him in one of my artsy diary pieces… the memory is already a bit of a smudge i fearrr….

Here’s some resources to help you make text-based interactive fiction games!

Totally unprompted!  There’s certainly nothing going on in a certain forum right now (or rather an on-going issue).  Nope, I just thought it would be nice to share some resources.  ;)

Twine

Twine is such an easy tool to use.  It uses its own scripting language Sugarcube (there’s also Harlowe and Snowman, but they don’t have the same functionality and creator support as Sugarcube does to my knowledge), Javascript, and CSS.

Twine is FREE!!!

Sugarcube literally gives you a save function (which does browser and save to desktop)!!!  Be the save-hoarding goblin you were born to be!

It’s criminally easy to make games with Twine.  They make it easy to make stats, relationships, and other info pages.  When setting up the paths you can literally see arrows pointing where they lead, you can move passages around visually so you can group them up by chapter/scene/etc......to be fair once your game gets BIG it can get messy and confusing.

I have coding experience prior to finding Twine, but I’m absolutely certain anyone can make great games with Twine.  If all your doing is making text-based ‘more story than game’ games, then you’ll be doing minimal coding (setting variables, if/else statements, using text boxes, etc) so you shouldn’t have any issues.

If you do have issues I’m 99% certain someone has had your issue before, and the answer is one google search away.

You can use Twine in your browser, just be careful to not mess with the data/cookies or you can lose your games (totally not speaking from experience)....archive your games often if you use Twine in browser.  You can also download Twine, so you can use it offline!

SugarCube v2 Documentation - Your new best friend.

With the Settings API you can add a mature filter, different style themes (great for light/dark themes and color blind themes...or just different themes to look cool), difficulty settings, volume control, etc.

HiEv’s SugarCube 2 Sample Code - An ever-expanding collection of code, tips, macros, widgets.  A good mix of fun and useful stuff.

^ Includes a great pronoun widget!!!  To be fair it’s not the most user-friendly widget at first, especially if you aren’t a coder, but in the long run a widget like this is a great tool for customizing pronouns.  It allows you to write a character in the code with one set of pronouns throughout the game ($They $are a great $person), the widget selects the correct word through an switch (aka a fancy if/else) statement when the character is assigned a pronoun......so when playing a female it would display as “She is a great girl”, a male would be “He is a great guy”, and nonbinary would be “They are a great person”.  You can add neopronouns this way too!

Chapel’s custom macros - Chapel has a lot of cool macros, but a lot of them are more advanced.  Very few have been useful for the kinds of games I want to make, but they may be useful for you.

r/twinegames - Twine has some older forums, which are still up (though not active) and have helpful answers on them, but the current forum is found on reddit.

w3schools - When it’s time to style your game, this will be your lifeline.  Even today, like...seven years after first learning CSS I still come back to w3schools all the time. !!!Twine has funky class/id selectors for it’s built in stuff so refer back to the SugarCube Documentation!!!

I’ve found SOOOO many games I would never have known existed through if-creator’s blogs just because they reblogged a post from another if-creator.

@interact-if and @iorifd​ are doing great work!  They collect games, share helpful coding/writing tips, etc.  Go show them some love!  Interact-if runs the subreddit mentioned above, and iorifd is working on a database for visual novels and text-based games.

IFDB (Interactive Fiction Database)

IFDB is a database for interactive fiction games.  You can add new game listings, write reviews, make game polls, make game recommendation lists, etc.

IFDB seems to like their parser games (parsers being where you type in commands like “go west”, “open door”, etc).

It actually has a pretty good filter and ignore system.

Obviously this isn’t the end all be all of dev tools or hosting platforms for interactive fiction.  Ink is a scripting tool similar to Twine I’ve only heard of recently that might be interesting to you.  Ren’Py, although primarily a visual novel engine, can be used to make text-based games.  The only other hosting alternative I know is DashingDon, I THINK they only host ChoiceScript games and I don’t think you can sell through them, but it’s a good place regardless.

This is a funny one, I got this from Tiktok! So y/n wanted to give her bf a kiss as he took a nap since he looked so cute, however he’s been touchstarved for a minute so he basically pulls her down to him and traps her in his arms as he slept. She can’t move at all! It feels nice but her legs are going numb 💀 and when she tries to move he says “mine” while his eyes are shut and she’s like “I know but...eh” *tries to move three more times as he says “mine” those three times and his grip is strong asf* she just gets exhausted and is like “God dammit 😭”. When her friends finally comes in, she tells them “I’ve been trapped for 3 hours, help me. I need to make dinner.”

I’d love to see the clingy bois in question be Hawks, Bakugo, Shinsou, and Dabi.

You couldn’t help it honestly Bakugo looked so peaceful when he was asleep. You stopped by his room to drop off a few notes that he had let you borrowed when you walked in you saw him asleep in his bed (you took a picture of him lol)

You just wanted to give a kiss just a tiny one! Carefully you loomed over him and gently kissed his cheek so you wouldn’t wake him up. You were about to pull away until you felt Bakugo’s arm reach over and pulled you into his chest.

You let out a surprised squeak. You tried wiggling out of his arms UNTIL he tightens his arms around your waist preventing you from moving at first you thought it was cute.. until 30 minutes passed by.

You tried shaking him awake, but HE WOULDN’T WAKE UP! “B-Bakugo please my legs they’re falling numb..” he didn’t respond. You tried again to wiggle yourself free from him, but he slightly stirs you hoped that he would wake up.. he didn’t.

“Mine.. all mine..” he mumbled. Goddamit he was talking in his sleep.. it’s cute, but you were in charge of making dinner for the class! You couldn’t let Uraraka do it alone!

You moved “mine.” You moved again “mine.” You moved one last time “mine.”

You gave up and accepted your defeat.

Uraraka, Mina and Midoriya were looking everywhere for you they hadn’t seen you or Bakugo for the last three hours and they started to get worried. They visited your room first and didn’t find you, then they tried Bakugo’s room and lord behold they found you.

“Y-Y/N are you alright?” Midoriya asked.

“Well you see ive been here for I don’t know how long-“ “three hours.” “Three hours, I can’t feel my legs and I need to make dinner so if you could please help me Id be thankful.”

When you saw Dabi passed out asleep you felt your heart explode. You’ve never seen him so.. peaceful! He looked so cute and relaxed! Usually he had that “cool” attitude so you never got to see him like this.

You smiled you quietly crawled onto the bed and gave Dabi a kiss on his cheek (you saw him smile in his sleep! You really wished you could’ve taken a picture) you were about to crawl away until you felt Dabi’s hand grab onto your waist and pull you against his chest.

You quietly gasped at his actions you didn’t expect Dabi to be strong in his sleep too.. at first you decided to let him hold onto you it was a nice feeling and it made you feel safe in his arms, but as a few minutes passed by your legs were getting numb you tried gently wiggling from his arms, but he tightened his grip around you.

“D-Dabi please wake up..” nothing. You tried wiggling again “Mine..” he mumbled burying his face into your chest.

You blushed at his actions. It was cute that he was holding into you like this like a baby koala bear, BUT YOU WANTED HIM TO LET GO ALREADY!

You tried wiggling against “Mine!” Dabi growls. You sighed you had to accept that Dabi wasn’t going to let you go anytime soon until he wakes up.. wait.. if he does wake up and sees you in this position with him he won’t let you leave! You tried wiggling more, but nothing worked you had to accept you lost.

Shigaraki and Toga were looking for you for THREE hours! The three of you were suppose to go on patrol to recruit new villains! Shigaraki was already annoyed he knew where you were at. Toga happily following behind him as he opened Dabi’s door he almost brusted out laughing when he saw Dabi holding onto you as he slept.

“I was going to come in to yell at you, but THIS is fucking hilarious.” Shigaraki said crossing his arms “haha very funny now help me.” You said to him “Na I’ll let you two have alone time together let’s go Toga.” Shigaraki said leaving you.

“Toga don’t leave me!” But she only laughed “have a fun time with Dabi Y/N!”

I feel like hawks would be half awake through things, but “pretend” to be asleep lol.

Keigo had just come back from a LONG day of patrolling and all he did was take a shower and then BAM take a nap. You came back home from work and saw him asleep in bed you smiled you quietly walked over to him and placed a kiss on his cheek.

He mumbled something, but didn’t wake up. You were about to leave the room to go make dinner UNTIL you felt him grab onto your wrist and pull you into bed. You thought it was cute at first until you started to realize he wasn’t waking up.. or letting go.

You tried shaking him awake, but he didn’t wake up. sHit and you needed to make dinner! You tried wiggling out of his arms hoping that would work, but he only tightened his hold on you.

“Keigo please wake up..” nothing he was really asleep at this point. You tried wiggling out of his arms until he mumbled “mine.” and used his wings to hold you against him as well. GoDdamit!

You weren’t about to give up though! You tried and tried again, but even in his sleep Keigo was strong as fUck! You sighed and accepted that you couldn’t escape his hold on you. A few hours passed by and you heard your phone ring thankfully Keigo let his wings relax making you able to reach over and grab it.

“Y/N have you seen hawks? I’ve tried calling him a bunch of times and he hasn’t answered me.” ENDEAVOR! He could probably help you with Keigo!

“Y-yeah he’s asleep uhm endeavor can you help me with something?” The end went silent for a bit “okay?” “So.. hawks fell asleep right? and I came to check up on him and I was trying to leave to go make dinner, but hawks sorta trapped me and now I can’t get him to let go of me.. can you help me?” You heard him sigh.

“Of course that idiot would I’m on my way.” You sighed in relief. You were happy he was coming.. you needed to use the bathroom.

Aizawa asked you to go check up on Shinso since he wasn’t answering his text messages. So when you got to his room you saw him asleep on his bed with one arm on his stomach at first you were just going to leave and tell Aizawa that he had fallen asleep.. but then you got tempted to kiss him.

Carefully not to wake him up you walked over to him and gently kissed his cheek “sleep well.” You mumbled Shinso stired a bit, but didn’t wake up. You were about to leave until you felt Shinso’s hand grab your wrist and pull you into his bed.

At first you thought he was fake being asleep, but saw that his eyes were still closed and his breathing was still soft.. was he almost like sleepwalking? You smiled “I’m happy you still think of me when you sleep Shinso.. but I gotta report back to Aizawa Sensei.” You tried wiggling out of his arms gently.

Shinso then held onto you tighter.. oh no. You tried waking Shinso up, but he was definitely a heavy sleeper. You tried waking him up; but nothing was working! You tried wiggling out of his arms again “mine.. only mine..” Shinso mumbled as he rested his chin on your shoulder. You shivered feeling his breath on your neck “Aizawa sensei is going to kill me if I don’t report back Shinso let goo.”

He wouldn’t though you tried everything by shaking him, wiggling out of his arms and even trying to talk to him, but he still continued to sleep! At this point you don’t know how many minutes passed by Sensei could already be on his way to kill you for not reporting back.. sigh.. at least you’d be safe in Shinso’s room.

Three hours passed by and Aizawa got WORRIED he asked your classmates if they had seen you and they said no. Aizawa asked the students form 1B if they had seen Shinso or you and one of the students told him Shinso was asleep in his room.

Aizawa went over to Shinso’s room and almosted yelled when he saw Shinso cuddling you “Y/N! Where have you been?” Aizawa asked not trying to wake up Shinso in the process.

“Here! I was going to report back to until Shinso cuddled me into his chest and wouldn’t let go!” Aizawa almost laughed. Almost.

At first Aizawa was planning on leaving you until he heard you say “I need to use the bathroom!” Now he was trying to help you.

the only way to measure how far I've gone is how long it takes me to get my energy back (assuming I'm getting a constant stream of chaos energy). but time works differently in different dimensions. the longest i was in a different dimension is 2 years i think? but when i got back to my dimension only a month had past in hell and heaven (a week had past in my dimension's mortal plane, hell/heaven and the mortal plane had different time flow, a month in hell was a week in the mortal plane)

despite running in politics i don't think i knew anything about them, I'm pretty sure my friend was doing most of the thinking and i was just along for the ride. i don't recall any big corrupt controversy so i don't if anything happened /gen. most people if they had a job dedicated their lives to it, but nothing was stopping them from having multiple or changing careers. money wasn't nearly as important as it is in the mortal realm (or this universe for that matter). you could trade for goods or do random chores/quests to get stuff.

i mainly used my tendrils to grab stuff i couldn't reach and carry heavy things, since no weight seemed too much for them. also they were nice for like, grounding exercises. i could wrap one around my leg or torso and be chilling

yeah there were mortals. in my universe earth was real and i'd visit sometimes (mainly to learn about music) humans were a thing along with a bunch of humanoid species (like siren/mermaids, hybrids, etc.) there were portals to and from earth, heaven, and hell so it was common for heaven and hell beings to be on earth.

another thing i haven't mentioned is the Red Dimension (a sub-dimension with my "parent" dimension, which is quite literally a dimension where everything inside wants to kill you. the entire dimension and everything in is was some shade of red. it looks kinda cool but is not a fun place to be.

and Fate lived in her own dimension, basically, an infinite space for archiving what has and what will happen, lots and lots of filling cabinets filled with records of everything. inside said dimension is the. waiting line i guess for getting souls into an afterlife if they believed in one.

minecraft builds are very cool, my (this dimension) older brother is real big on building things. and i highly recommend a side blog for your interest :]

when it comes to being a menace and getting chaos energy, chaos, destruction, and absurdity work well on getting said energy. i avoid causing destruction, but sometimes Fate would tell me that something (like a natural disaster) is going to happen so i could be ready for the influx of energy (excess energy makes me hyper). my favorite way to be chaotic was biting people, it works very well on getting energy and is just very fun to do. throwing myself around with my tendrils worked as well. if i could find something to do that would shock people in a absurdity kinda way i'd end up doing it.

the sin and virtue system IS really cool, and don't worry it's not offensive to say that /gen. I'm glad you like learning about my dimension! I really enjoy talking about it :]

I have no clue if I'll be able to go home while in this body since I don't have access to any of my magic, so I guess I'm waiting to see if some powerful being from this dimension or my own gets me home? I don't know how I ended up in this body in the first place /gen. I haven't even thought about how the balance is back home, I hope the other powerful beings have figured out at least a temporary solution.

I love nesting SO much. comfy objects is what it's all about. I don't recall the name of my teddy bear, and I nest in this dimension as well (not being able to purr lowkey sucks)

magic is very big in my dimension, even mortals use it. so it was used for a lot of stuff, and he'll had lots of resources for magic and potions. magic and potions are important cause of the fact that lots of creatures that are deadlier then the one's in this dimension exist, so mortals have to be able to protect themselves. The plants looked pretty funky /pos and I remember how a few of them look. (I'll show you art of the plants in my answer to your next ask!)

I think the economy started before I was made, which means it's REALLY old, I've been around for a while but it's been around longer.

I've named a couple dimensions (like afterlife but it's Detroit) but they're more like nicknames. Even the Red Dimension has a official name (which I think is just a bunch of numbers and letters?) but we call the Red Dimension cause it's. very red in there.

most powerful beings can open portals or teleport, it's the main way of transportation (especially between earth, heaven, and hell so people don't have to walk to the natural portals.)
