Neva Kee was a Xamster podracer from Xagobah. He was an innovative risk-taker; his podracer design considered extremely dangerous by some and revolutionary by others. During the Boonta Eve Classic, Kee flew off course and disappeared into the Tatooine desert.

just put together a Star Wars verse for Piter -
Neva Kee has gained a reputation as a daredevil in podracing circles, along with a dedicated fanbase. He's best known for flying a customized, experimental podracer that's considerably more fragile and unsafe than a standard pod; when enthusiastic fans and horrified critics call him insane, they each use a different tone of voice. It's often easy to spot Neva out in public in the days before the race, a blue Xamster just over a meter tall who keeps getting mobbed by fans and loves every bit of the attention. But you've probably never seen his manager. Who exactly is this human behind the curtain, and who/what is someone with his range of talents trying to hide from? Is he trying to retire from a life of crime? Lying low and planning his next move? Trying to get close to a target with connections to racing? He has an unsettling kind of energy. He moves like a cat through a world of mice. Is the celebrity podracer in danger? Or are they both in on something bigger than podracing?

Our G (that's Geonosis, where Clone Wars were born) Was razed by the Empire, bereft and forlorn.
H is for Hoth in its permafrost clad Where Wampas may eat you and Tauntauns smell bad.
It's also Hays Minor, where our girls were born Until Rose and Paige from their home world were torn.

V is for Vetine, which happens to be Where Shara and Luke went to rescue a tree.
W's Wobani; seeking the truth Our Princess freed refugees, all in her youth.
X for Xagobah and its battle won And Podracer Neva Kee, its famous son.
Y is for Yavin 4, victory's joy Where Shara and Kes retired raising their boy.
Z is for Zastiga, where rebels met And Admiral Ackbar revealed a new threat.
So I’m supposed to be writing a fic chapter but given the back and forth about Edward Gorey style illustrations, these fell out of my head instead.  Q and X were remarkably difficult, as I suppose they always must be, but I had fun writing this.  I could easily have incorporated a couple more Cs (Canto Bight, Chandrila), but other letters wanted their turns.

🌵 11/9/21 | Journal (2)
this one’s about s.tar w.ars
Please don’t reblog
I found S.tar W.ars Racer, the old one that used to be a computer game and an N64 game, in the playstation store the other day. I grew up with that game, then I played it on N64 during the time I was in grad school until the N64 broke. I had no idea it had been ported to ps4, and it was like reuniting with an old friend.
So anyways, my favorite racer has always been Neva Kee. I probably came to like him at first because his pod has good stats. Younger me lost a LOT of races so me right now could git gud, and I was always looking for little ways to get a leg up. But he has a great character design too, he’s a funky little blue alien with big ears and he has kind of a funny, emotive voice. I genuinely like the character, the s.tar w.ars people made a good alien design. Little guy is just out there walking around in a galaxy far, far away. His day job is being a race car driver. Epic.
readmore for length
So out of curiosity, I looked him up, expecting to find like a paragraph-long wiki page about how he’s a playable character in S.tar W.ars Racer. And, you guys, this little fella has Lore. He’s a kind of alien called a Xamster, and these guys have all this lore about them, and where they come from, and what they’re like, and info about the appearances they’ve made in comics, and so on. I think the name sounds like Hamster. We don’t have to talk about it, I just thought someone should say it. But so Neva Kee the Xamster has detailed concept art for his tiny appearance in the podrace arc in P.hantom M.enace, and there’s this whole story about how his podracer is constructed in a really unsafe way that makes it go faster & how Neva is a daredevil with a devoted fanbase that loves him for being “insane.” And apparently during the race in the movie he just veered off the track at some point and was never seen again. did he die? did he retire in secrecy? no one knows!
And I’m just impressed. This little polygon man playable character in an old, dusty video game has a genuine and compelling little role in the S.tar W.ars canon. They didn’t have to do all that. A.nakin and S.ebulba were the only racers who were part of the main plot, it would have been really easy to like, throw together a bunch of generic pod racers for other competitors & put j.awas in them and call it a race. but it’s like, no, this is serious, some characters in s.tar w.ars are race car drivers and they cultivate a fanbase around their quirks and their kind of alien has a name and they LIVE HERE. like aaa. that’s just so nice.

N64 Games

                N64 Star Wars Games Ranked
Just like The Simpsons video games we mentioned in our last article, Star Wars games have found their way onto almost every game console for all generations. Four Star Wars games were released on the Nintendo 64, which is more than its predecessors (3 on SNES and 2 on NES). Of the four Star Wars N64 Games, two revolved around Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace, one around the original trilogy, and one around Star Wars Legends.
Here are the Star Wars N64 games ranked:
4. Star Wars: Shadows of the Empire
Release Year: 1996UPC:
045496870133
Current Value: $10-$12
Are you shocked that this game is ranked lowest? Although Shadows of the Empire is the most popular and well-known Star Wars game on the Nintendo 64, it was rated the lowest out of the four Star Wars games released, with an average rating of 6.5/10 across reputable review sites.
The game has a great story that’s divided into 4 chapters. The first chapter takes place at the beginning of the fifth Star Wars film – Empire Strikes Back. The second chapter involves a face-off against Boba Fett to save Han Solo. The third chapter has players protecting Luke Skywalker while recovering the secret plans for the second Death Star. And finally, the fourth chapter requires players to rescue Princess Leia from Prince Xizor in order to beat the game.
Unfortunately, the game received its low reviews due to poor controls, awkward camera angles, and mediocre level designs after The Battle of Hoth.
3. Star Wars Episode I: Racer
Release Year: 1999UPC:
045496870416
Current Value: $6-$8
The first Phantom Menace video game released on the N64 with an average rating of 7.5/10. Based on the pod race movie scene, players must race around different circuits, each set becoming progressively more difficult (think Mario Kart 64). Players can earn money by winning races and can spend this on upgrades for their podracer at Watto’s shop.
The game has 23 playable characters, 17 of which need to be unlocked. Competitive players should note that the best Star Wars Racer character is Ben Quadinaros. Not only is his podracer huge, he also has the strongest and most effective boost in the game.

2. Star Wars Episode I: Battle for Naboo
Release Year: 2000UPC:
023272656591
Current Value: $19-$21
The follow-up to Star Wars: Rogue Squadron, Battle for Naboo follows the events of the film Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace. The game offers 15 levels for players to complete with the following available aircraft: Naboo N-1 Starfighter, the Naboo Bomber, and Police Cruiser. Land and watercraft are also playable on various levels.
The game received positive reviews, with an average rating of 8/10. It’s commonly praised for it crisp controls, addition of ground vehicles (which Rogue Squadron didn’t have), and story line.
1. Star Wars Rogue Squadron
Release Year: 1998UPC:
045496870379
Current Value: $10-$12
The first installment of the popular Rogue Squadron trilogy, which was concluded on the Nintendo Gamecube. Rogue Squadron was the 2nd Nintendo 64 game to support the Expansion Pak (after Donkey Kong 64).
The story takes place between A New Hope and Empire Strikes Back, and revolves around the missions of Luke Skywalker and Wedge Anitlles to form the Rogue Squadron. Similar to Shadows of the Empire, the game is divided into four chapters. The final chapter takes place six years after the Battle of Endor with Wedge Antilles battling the remnants of the empire; this was the first post Return of the Jedi content in a video game!
The game received great reception with an average rating of 8.5/10 and holds a special place in the heart’s of Star Wars fans. We highly recommend playing this game if you haven’t!

Neva Kee update!
The cockpit is pretty simple for the moment, getting the shape of the nose right is proving difficult.

Podracer Wreckage Salvage

STAR WARS EPISODE I: The Phantom Menace - Deleted Scene: Extended Podrace Lap Two 00:40
Not sure which podracer this should be. Mawhonic crashed in Mushroom Mesa on the first lap, but these engines seem to be painted blue. I was thinking Neva Kee, but they don’t match his pod nor did he crash in the race, so whose these were intended to be is a mystery to me!

Status of the FG 8T8-T (Neva Kee)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Neva Kee’s pod-racer has been an interesting project.  There are essentially two ‘versions’ of this vehicle.  The more commonly seen variant is seen in Racer: Revenge, with the triangular fins radiating from the center of the pod and ditches the ‘hood’ for a different style intake:
Tumblr media
However, when I found this picture of a model created for the film in a behind-the-scenes book, I knew it was what I wanted to base the model off of.

Anyways, have a lot more to show off when I get around to it, so stay tuned!
