#eye strain#cw eye strain#tw eye strain#ralsei#deltarune#i'm in a new era of my art style where i just outline everything in white pencil and think it looks cool#every time i add them i do a victory nod twice at my computer like an old man who just hit par in golf#anyway bright colors hi - i noticed that i tend to default to neutral colors and stay as far away from hues as possible#when i first started digital art i saw someone say to NEVER use the upper right of the HSV picker and i guess i took that to heart#in retrospect that was bad advice; dull colors are safe... but they're still dull and it's good to practice using bright colors too#so here's a hard pivot in the complete opposite direction of my normal work haha#it was fun! but i did have to use a few correction tools to un-muddy my colors so i think i'm gonna do this one more time#you might think the caption is cool and ominous but really i stole it from temmie village#rich history of tem provides plenty of quotable sentences#also! i think i want to reblog my work onto my alt a day after it's posted#i haven't decided for sure but am thinking about it... if you think that'd cause too much clutter though lmk!

Hmm Children's Day activity that the teacher gave us because we are celebrating it this week.
The theme was for us to draw cartoon characters from our childhood, but she said nothing about including characters that we liked now too.

The Devonian trilobite Crotalocephalina gibba.
Made as a more or less successful exercise to emulate the style of Junnn11, the person who illustrated many of the wikipedia articles on Cambrian arthropods and Paleozoic euchelicerates (and whose art I happen to like very much).
#very accidental lesbian color scheme#i swear i didn't do it on purpose the colors just looked nice#i only realized two hours after picking the colors and went with it#it's not my fault if lesbians have the best pride flag#(perhaps with the exception of the aro and aroace ones - but there certainly is no reason for my opinion on these to biased hehe)#anyway#drawing based on a fossil i have on my desk#minus the appendages of course (those are mainly adapted from Ceraurus pleurexanthemus)#because there's no way on earth i'm drawing a cheirurid in a non-neutral pose with just my imagination and a few top view photos/diagrams#all these furrows and little knobs around the articulations!!!#also heeeeeyy i'm not dead i'm still making art#between work travel and the fact that i've started sketching on paper again over the last 6 months#i haven't done much digital art worth posting#(still hesitating to post my paper sketches on here)#but i do have some cool 3d projects in the works#so i will probably be posting some pieces in my usual style in the more or less near future#crotalocephalina#cheirurid#trilobite#arthropod#devonian#paleozoic#paleontology#palaeoblr#paleoart#my art
