#eye strain #cw eye strain #tw eye strain #ralsei #deltarune #i'm in a new era of my art style where i just outline everything in white pencil and think it looks cool #every time i add them i do a victory nod twice at my computer like an old man who just hit par in golf #anyway bright colors hi - i noticed that i tend to default to neutral colors and stay as far away from hues as possible #when i first started digital art i saw someone say to NEVER use the upper right of the HSV picker and i guess i took that to heart #in retrospect that was bad advice; dull colors are safe... but they're still dull and it's good to practice using bright colors too #so here's a hard pivot in the complete opposite direction of my normal work haha #it was fun! but i did have to use a few correction tools to un-muddy my colors so i think i'm gonna do this one more time #you might think the caption is cool and ominous but really i stole it from temmie village #rich history of tem provides plenty of quotable sentences #also! i think i want to reblog my work onto my alt a day after it's posted #i haven't decided for sure but am thinking about it... if you think that'd cause too much clutter though lmk!

Levi I was wondering how you decide what colors to use in the MSPFA style I love how you choose colors a lot :))

I completely neglect Hussie's coloring style. I'm so serious.

Anyone who knows me knows that I haaaaaate Homestuck's coloring on many things like god tiers and trolls' horns. There's nothing wrong with the comic style. It's simple, over 10,000 pages with unique artwork (most of the time), and it's iconic in its own right. It would be unreasonable to ask for every panel to look good... HOWEVER. Some color design choices are personally painful to look at and very difficult to work with. True neutrals, MSPaint neon colors, the same three shades of orange in every panel. I do not enjoy it.

So I just made my own color palette in CSP for personalized Troll blood colors, including other things like tinted-grey tones, dark tones, and even horn colors. It's prone to changing and improving every now and again :) The Canon colors are also there for reference.

Otherwise, objects and backgrounds are sight-referenced by real-life images and general knowledge of color theory helps out too. I just do what feels fun.

bought yarn yesterday because my local shop had a sale. do not currently have a project for said yarn. need to finish three other projects first.

#it's gonna be something for ME I can tell you that #either a sweater or a cardigan or a shawl #I have a pattern for a shawl that I've made once and really liked #I have that tricky tunisian crochet cardigan I made for a Christmas gift that I could revisit #I have a tunisian crochet sweater I made for a DIFFERENT gift #but none of them is quite right #I would love some sort of henley-style pullover #but I WANT tunisian crochet which is more difficult to find #and I'm super picky on sleeves for sweaters so...#anyway I got a blend of colors #some deep orange #a vermillion closer that's very similar but just different enough to add variety #and a neutral color to mix with them #might pick up a bit more of the neutral while the sale is still on #none of these are colors I frequently wear but I've been told they look good on me and I am vain lol #(also all of this is on top of some yarn still in my stash because I abandoned the project I'd intended it for)

It's such a horrible time for me to be exploring my love for fashion when the trend right now is colorless basic asylum aesthetic 😭😭 You can't even wear something with a bit of color without people making fun of you, and YET basic people have the gal to act like they are the ones being oppressed saying "Everyones trying to be unique nowadays! Hmm Children's Day activity that the teacher gave us because we are celebrating it this week.

The theme was for us to draw cartoon characters from our childhood, but she said nothing about including characters that we liked now too.
