okay let’s actually talk about the horsewoman of death. minor spoilers for the witcher s1 + the books

death follows ciri. its a fact. it isn’t her fault, and she never wanted it, but it does. the razing of cintra, the murder of the rats, the hansa, pavetta, vessemir. yen and geralt.

death always has and very probably always will follow ciri

no matter how hard she tries, she will never be able to escape the guilt she feels for bringing about death to those she loves

strangers, her grandmother’s subjects, her grandmother, her biological mother and more all died to save ciri

where ciri treads death tends to follow

she will never not cry for them

she will Always feel guilty that she lived while hundreds, if not thousands died during men’s conquests to possess her

no I agree. the way they were taking his character it was a kindness to kill him off. I just wonder why they had to write him in in the first place if they didn’t like him or his characterization in the books. why not just invent a new character for this. I just don’t understand.

unpopular (?) opinion but I'm glad they killed off Eskel, idk if I could have dealt with this version of his character much longer. I love this man and the actor was cute, but the version of the character just wasn't it...

Apparently Vesemir is lowkey abusive(?) towards the other witchers and Ciri wanted to go through the trial of the grasses, which he agreed to do. He'd never do that in the books wtf, wasn't it established that some children of surprises don't even need to go through the trials? Might be misremembering tho

Yes and no girl ever survived the trail of grasses. it was also not certain how the elder blood would react with the mutations. either way, neither geralt nor vesemir would ever agree to put ciri through the trials, especially after the conversation geralt had with calanthe about them.

okay so fire magic being forbidden was obviously a set up for the cliffhanger at the end of season one but they really committed to it so if fire magic is “forbidden” now then how is ciri going to draw from fire to save Ihuarraquax and loose her sorcery

so I’m on episode 4 now and I still don’t understand why they decided to do that with eskel?? Like what purpose did that serve other than having that scene with the wolves??? Or this completely unnecessary parallel of Vesemir as a dad figure & Geralt as a dad figure?? What was the point???

And why the fuck were there prostitutes at Kaer Morhen???? What is going on??

I can’t wait for Lauren to introduce another throw-away character next season that is gonna call out Eskel‘s death being ridiculous and have this character be mocked by one of the mains cause clearly she doesn’t give a fuck about Witcher fans who are critical of her adaptation and have a deep love for the source material.

I... Honestly don't know. I haven't watched the show. My knowledge extends to like. The plot with Ciri, Francesca and all the moments with Calanthe that my friend re-iterated for me.

Apparently Ciri almost killed him and he almost killed Ciri? but idk.
