since it's been a few weeks since the last update... well so I ended up finishing 3 and 1, then 4, 5... watched the anime, read the visions of v and dmc 3 mangas. I did not expect to get so invested lmao. it's so funny because you were one of the reasons I picked up resident evil and it became my obsession for the past year and a half. now it's you again with dmc. I'm so sad I don't have another game after 5 to play (I want to see what's next for nero I really like him! and see what happens with vergil) and given the time frame between 4 and 5, I am not hopeful it'll be coming soon despite it being five years

Even tho it's goofy and fairly underdeveloped I've been so obsessed with these games and their lore for honest to god a decade now 😭 Especially VERGILLLL💔💔💔 And wait thats so funny, I'm glad I've been impactful in some of ur recent obsessions 😭🖤 I actually influenced another friend to also play all of the dmc games (and 2 people to pick up silent hill 1-3!) a few months back as well like damn my highly opinionated taste in video games is so powerful lately.....

I'm so sad about the lack of a game after 5 as well, so much was changed and set up throughout that game it's crazy (the discussions regarding the Lore Implications of 5 on the subreddit around when the game came out were wild) and its also very upsetting that, with Hideaki Itsuno leaving capcom, it might lowkey be....over..... Or at least what we do get in a future may be very different from 3-5.....

People talk about wanting an American adaptation of ‘Death Note’ all the time, yet want it exactly like the original, and I always think: why? If ‘Death Note’ took place in America it would make more proper sense to have a divergence simply in how the American authorities treat the concept of it. I always saw it that you cast say a Bryan Cranston-type as Light’s father, have him be the director of the CIA. Light’s mother remains Japanese, so he and his sister are now Japanese-American. The CIA would legitimately want the Death Note, and have less qualms with using it to kill. Light should also have more people to be open to about it — the manga always had people be better than they actually are. We’ve had plenty of accurate adaptations — the series deserves the ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles’ route, where each new adaptation is a reinvention of the concept, not just the same thing again.

I agree it could be done interestingly from the pov of changing it to be more accurate to the USA. The original story was very dependent on both being set in Japan and also set in the highly specific time period of the early 2000s though, in my opinion. Just in terms of the technology that was available at the time and everything else. I feel almost as though you can't really change either of those things without also changing the characters and the plot up in pretty major fundamental ways.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing a US adaptation that sets it with a new Death Note being dropped in the 2020s, in a world where Kira used to exist, and that changes it up based on it being in a different country and different time period with different concerns and questions and values. Kind of like the 2020 one-shot with Minoru, but American. But I also don't know how well that would fly with anybody trying to get into it for the first time who wasn't already super familiar with the original story? And so much of the appeal of the original story is the unique and complex characters like L and Light that it's hard to imagine being able to get as attached to all new ones in a similar way for me now. They'd have some pretty big boots and high expectations to fill.

When is Season 5 of Octonauts coming out in the USA? I see people saying March 27th, but some people are saying that's in the UK only. Or would it be released the same date in both places? If anybody knows can you please tell me?? I looked it up but didn't find a definite answer. Also what websites can I watch it on? I've been using Netflix, but will S5 even be on Netflix?? If so, when?? Again I live in the US, if it's Mar 27 everywhere plsss tell meeee

Ok, I'm not against the upcoming, new remakes of old movies, but I just don't feel the casting of the new version of "Il Gattopardo"... Yeah, Kim Rossi Stuart is a great choice & the others, too. But, Deva Cassel... really?! I love her parents, I'm a "Cassellucci" fan, but there are several more beautiful and talented actresses to play the role. The role, that previously nailed by Claudia Cardinale, who has not just beauty but, also had talent... I'm not saying, that she wouldn't be a beauty but, that's not enough... Actually, I would more like Bianca Panconi or Neva Leoni to play that role, instead of the "nepo-baby" of Monica Bellucci & Vincent Cassel... But, looking forward to it, despite this... 😉🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🙃

Upcoming Magical Girl Projects

Magical girl fans are finally eating good after years of starvation. So good, in fact, that I decided to make a list of magical girl projects in development.

The Magical Girl and the Evil Lieutenant Used to Be Archenemies - The most imminent of these projects, since it's premiering only in a few days. It's the story of the forbidden romance between the magical girl Byakuya Mimori and Mira, a high-ranking official of an army trying to take over the world.

Mermaid Magic - In a new western magical girl show from the same studio as Winx Club, Princess Merlinda, with her friends Sasha and Nerissa in tow, ventures to the human world in order to find a way to save her homeland of Mertropia from the ghost pirate Barbarossa and his monster horde. Dropping on Netflix next month.

Acro Trip - One of several new magical girl series coming out in the Fall 2024 anime season, Acro Trip follows Chizuko Date as her efforts to increase appreciation for her idol, local magical girl Berry Blossom, takes her down a "dark path filled with strange folks."

Magilumiere Magical Girls Inc. - Kana Sakuragi is having a hard time finding work, botching over 15 different job interviews. However, her luck changes when a series of events lands her a job at the magical girl company Magilumiere.

The Story of the Girl Who Couldn't Become a Wizard - The third of the magical girl anime coming out in October, MahoNare for short tells the story of Kurumi Mirai as she tries to become a wizard anyways after failing to get into her school's magic division.

Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie - Walpurgisnacht Rising - The fourth PMMM movie, which will pick up where Rebellion's massive cliffhanger left off. It's currently set to come out sometime later this year.

Cute High Earth Defense Club Eternal Love! - The magical boy series is getting a new movie in winter 2025 as part of the celebrations for its 10th anniversary. While the movie will "consist entirely of new scenes that will be newly drawn," exact plot details are unknown. (Added August 7, 2024)

Mahou Tsukai Precure: Mirai Days - A new installment in the Precure franchise, Mirai Days will serve as a sequel to Mahou Tsukai, the thirteenth season. Even though it's premiering early next year, specific plot details are currently unknown.

Princess Session Orchestra - A TV original coming next year, Princess Session Orchestra is based on a concept by Akifumi Kaneko, one of Symphogear's co-creators. The land of Alicepia's peace is destroyed when monsters called Jammerwocks attack, prompting a trio of young girls to step up the plate to protect the realm.

Winx Club - The western magical girl classic is getting a CGI reboot. While comments by Iginio Straffi imply that certain characters who were introduced later in the original series (such as Roxy and Nabu) will appear earlier, no specific plot details have been revealed so far. The series is coming to Netflix late next year.

New Panty & Stocking with Garterbelt - Panty & Stocking is getting a second season after over a decade that's coming out sometime next year with no specific plot details revealed yet. (Added August 7, 2024)

Project Symphogear Next - A new Symphogear movie was announced late last year. However, no further details have been revealed.

Hua Xianzi: Zhi Mofa Xiang Dui Lun - A co-production between Tencent Video and Toei Animation's Shanghai branch, this anime is being billed as a "remake" of Lunlun the Flower Fairy. That being said, promises of "a fresh story and characters" make it sound more like a reboot.

Studio Pierrot's new anime - Studio Pierrot, which has made a variety of magical girl anime from Creamy Mami to Tokyo Mew Mew, has announced that they're creating a new TV original magical girl anime. No specific details have been disclosed, but the caption for the teaser image ("I want you to sing once more...") implies that it'll be a magical idol anime.

Lolirock season three - After Lolirock's second season ended with a cliffhanger all the way back in 2017, it seemed like the story would never get a proper conclusion. However, the series's creator and director, Jean-Louis Vandestoc, announced on his Instagram in 2023 that creative meetings for a third season have begun.

Magic Knight Rayearth revival - TMS Entertainment is making a new Magic Knight Rayearth anime in honor of the franchise's 30th anniversary. Unfortunately, it's currently unknown what the format will be.

Cardcaptor Sakura: Clear Card season two - The sequel to the magical girl classic is getting a second season that will adapt the rest of the manga.

Magical Girl holoWitches - A multimedia project starring six VTubers as fictionalized versions of themselves who work as both streamers and magical girls who save people when they get trapped in the magical Holocas World. There was a four minute extended trailer in May, but the anime's proper premiere date is unknown.

Ojamajo Doremi 16-20's - An adaptation of Ojamajo Doremi's light novel sequel series, which follows the girls as they grow from being in their mid-teens to early 20s. Interestingly, the format for the adaptation (TV show, movie, or streaming series) will be based on the reception of a music video featuring the girls as adults.

‘Bridgerton’ Season 4 Casts Yerin Ha as Benedict’s Love Interest Sophie Beckett

“Bridgerton” has cast Yerin Ha as Benedict Bridgerton’s love interest for Season 4.

According to sources, Ha will play Sophie Beckett in the upcoming season of the hit Shondaland-Netflix series. As previously announced, Season 4 will tell Benedict’s (Luke Thompson) love story and will be based on the events of Julia Quinn’s third “Bridgerton” novel, “An Offer From a Gentleman.”

Beckett is the “Lady in Silver.” In the novel, she is the illegitimate daughter of an earl and one his maids. She was brought up in her father’s house, though he never publicly acknowledged her as his daughter.

Ha is perhaps best known to American audiences for her role in the Paramount+ series adaptation of the “Halo” video games. She appeared in both seasons of the series in the role of Kwan Ha. Her other credits include the Australian shows “Reef Break,” “Troppo,” and “Bad Behaviour,” as well as the independent horror film “Sissy.” She will next appear in the Max prequel series “Dune: Prophecy,” which is slated to air in November on the streamer.

She is repped by WME and Morrissey Management.
