We had a scare with our Lord Tyrion this week. He was eating less, having a hard time going to the bathroom, and was lethargic. We took Tyrion to the vet and discovered he has hyperthyroidism, which is treatable. Thanks to the meds, Tyrion is already back to his normal self.

1996 is a tough year for me from a drum corps standpoint. For my age out season with the Glassmen, we went from our best season to date and an 8th place finish to seeing us drop down to 13th place and my junior corps career ending one day early at Semifinals.

I need to take a moment and apologize to the all-age drum corps community. Up to this point, I have not featured any DCA performances. There’s a few reasons for this, mainly that there aren’t many videos of DCA corps performing Christmas or wintery music that I can use without worrying about the video getting taken down from YouTube at some point.

12 Corps Of Christmas - 1995 Santa Clara Vanguard

1995 was one of those drum corps seasons which fans talk about for years after it happened. Outside of the second DCI championship for the Cavaliers, there was the competition for the top between them, the Cadets, and the Blue Devils. The Madison Scouts finished 4th, which is the highest the corps has placed since.

I’ll admit, this entry onto my list is a stretch since the Guardsmen are playing “Greensleeves”, but considering it is the same melody as “What Child Is This?”, I decided to roll with it.
