I found a plot hole in the Princess Switch 3. Simon (from Christmas Prince) was at Hunter Cunard’s party, but who was that girl he was with? We know that movie takes place after the 3rd Christmas Prince as King Richard and Queen Amber were at Queen Margaret’s Coronation with their baby in the 2nd Princess Switch. And at the end of the 3rd Christmas Prince Simon proposes to Melissa. So again I ask the question who was that girl at the party with him?!?

Netflix christmas movies are like, "if there's one thing we're damn sure going to do, it's put Vanessa Hudgens in a red lip"

Now that Henry Selick has the rights to “The Shadow King” back I hope Netflix decides to produce it, because they’ve been wanting their own cinematic universe for years and then maybe they could make it so that this movie could take place in the same universe as Wendell and Wild, and if it becomes a hit we could get like a “Henry Netflick-verse” or something. (Just so you know I didn’t misspell Netflix, it’s a portmanteau of Netflix and Selick).

my roommate said what's a show without a sexy priest, and i've been trying to convince them to watch all the mike flanagan shows, so i was like ooo midnight mass (i've heard people find father paul sexy), so i pulled up a pic of him like "do you think he's sexy?" and they were like "i don't know his personality"

If it helps, you can always try remembering the ones you’re truly invested in first, as it’s easier, then move on to the ones that, while you don’t watch often, still has an impact when it comes to the ‘Netflix Christmas Cinematic Universe’.
Mine for example are: The Princess Switch, Christmas Prince, Castle For Christmas, and Knight Before Christmas. These are ones I watch more often and can remember little details and/or easter eggs that gives references to each other.
A bonus movie for me has to be The Royal Treatment, since it mentions Aldovia towards the beginning. Not to mention it being the first non-Christmas movie (to my knowledge) to reference AND be connected to the ‘Netflix Christmas Cinematic Universe’.
the problem with starting an alt blog bc you have watched every single christmas rom com on netflix and have to vent your feelings about them is that you have watched every single christmas rom com on netflix so you cannot remember any significant plot points and mix them all up in your head. it's rough out here.

Yes. I approve of this.
Could someone please make a fic based off this because that would be fun as heck to read. XD
So Christmas prince, princess switch, knight before Christmas are in the same universe. Should we expect some sort of Infinity war in 10 years or so?

Do you remember all those rumors after the docuseries came out and spare?? It was like summer 2023 and chatter started to heavily pick up that basically Netflix was declining every idea they brought forth because they either wanted season 2 of their life or a bigger chunk of the BRF. And Meghan and Harry knew that the BRF was a non starter, by then they were kicked out of frogmore so they couldn’t even really pretend to film there. I think this is the closest compromise Harry could give, the documentary about polo? I do think they’ll use the BTS footage they shot in spring of 2023 when the rumors first came out. Meghan floating in with a cooking show to see if it will drive more eyeballs to ARO because the launch hasn’t been as successful.
It’s clear they want to part on decent terms with (‘success) instead of repeating what happened at Spotify. That was a shot through the heart for them.
No, I didn't see those Netflix rumors last year.
The thing about Netflix (and all media/entertainment companies) is that they bet only on sure things. They take a gamble once and if that turns into a success, that's all they'll spend money on.
It's why we have more film franchies than independent one-and-done stories. It's why every film studio wants a "cinematic universe" and six-year plan. It's why we have the same shows on every network. It's why every reality competition show is modeled after Survivor. It's why every reality cooking show is modeled after Top Chef. It's why all the books in the women's commercial fiction genre have identical covers (moody background, mysterious cover, title/author lettering in big font with bright colors).
Netflix knew pretty quickly that they weren't going to get a whole lot from the Sussexes. It took them two years to produce six hours. That is a terrible track record and is exactly on par with their Spotify "two years and a 45-minute Christmas special" plan. So once Netflix got the docuseries and it did okay enough in the ratings to make Netflix execs comfortable that they didn't just throw away all this money, that type of content was the only thing they'd greenlight.
So really Meghan and Harry shot themselves in the foot here. Netflix was pretty much banking on the Sussexes being their version of the Kardashians and possibly that's what Meghan and Harry sold them on, but then tried to back out of it when the ratings weren't Kardashian-level.
Meaning that for Meghan and Harry to get more options from Netflix than a Season 2 whinefest, that means they pulled in some help. Real help, actual help, from legitimate industry insiders. That kind of assistance is pretty much the only thing that would've made Netflix comfortable to give them another chance.
(Not that I think it will do them any good. The cooking show genre is overly saturated and, as everyone has pointed out, polo isn't a thing here. Both films/docuseries/whatever they are probably aren't going to do well.)
Finally, the understanding is that the Sussexes and Netflix have a four-year deal. That deal expires this year. The cooking show and the polo thing are just last-ditch efforts to squeeze more money from Netflix.

Marvel Studios has reshuffled the release dates for its slate of television shows.
What If
? Echo, and Agatha: Coven of Chaos, now titled Agatha: Darkhold Diaries, are among the titles receiving new dates. The move comes amid Hollywood’s strikes as well as a general pullback at Disney+.
The writers strike began May 2 while the actors went on strike July 14, significantly impacting production and development. At the same time, sources say Marvel wants to focus its efforts to make each title an event for fans and audiences. The studio has decided that spreading out its content is a more prudent strategy.
It’s a far cry from last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, when Marvel unveiled plans for Phase 5 and Phase 6 of its movies and television shows. 2023 particularly heavy with shows, with five planned. (Only the spring’s Secret Invasion, October’s Loki and as The Hollywood Reporter can reveal, What If
? season two remain of that plan for this year.)
THR poked around the Marvel scheduling changes and here’s what sources say is the new rundown:
As previously announced, Loki season two will be the only show to hit this fall, debuting on Disney+ on Oct. 6. Despite what some call superhero fatigue, expectations remain high for the Tom Hiddleston-Owen Wilson-fronted series that centers on alternate timelines. The season two trailer had the biggest digital debut of a trailer for any Disney+ series, and season one remains the most-watched Marvel series on Disney+.
The second season of Emmy-winning animated series What If
? will debut around Christmas Day, although it should be noted the animated show is not a holiday-themed series. Like the namesake comic on which its premise is based, What If
? is an anthology series that looks at key moments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and how they would look in different timelines. Jeffrey Wright returns as the voice of the Watcher, the alien narrator. What If
? was originally slated for an early 2023 release.
Echo, a spin-off from last year’s hit Hawkeye, was originally announced for Nov. 29 but has now shifted to January 2024. The series stars Alaqua Cox as a one-time head of a criminal organization who returns to her hometown in Oklahoma to come to terms with her past. The series, which centers on a character who is deaf and of Native American descent, is described as having a grittier and more grounded tone than some of the other Marvel series and will feature appearances by Daredevil and villain The Kingpin. As previously announced, all the episodes will drop at the same time.
Next on the schedule will be X-Men ’97, the animated series that acts as a spiritual and tonal continuation of the classic 1990s series that aired on Fox. The series, first announced in 2021, was originally planned for a fall 2023 debut but will now premiere in early 2024 The show is being described, by sources who have seen it, as retro and a love letter to the original. A season two remains in the works.
Agatha, the WandaVision spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn, was originally announced for a winter 2023 release has been pushed back to early fall 2024, where it will serve as a lead-up to the Halloween holiday. The show, which completed its filming before the strikes, was previously titled Agatha: House of Harkness and then Agatha: Coven of Chaos before falling on its currently name, Agatha: Darkhold Diaries.
Ironheart, a show focused on  genius-inventor Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne) first introduced in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was to have dropped this fall but that is now off the schedule. It finished shooting but its completion is affected by the strikes.
Daredevil: Born Again, a continuation of the Netflix series in the MCU, was expected to debut in spring 2024, paused in mid-production amid the strikes. Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, was also paused in mid-production.
It is unclear where on the calendar the three series will end up.

Do you have a favorite holiday movie? (Whatever you like to watch around the holiday counts, there doesn't need to have menorahs or trees in it) what about a favorite cookie around this time of the year? (Or confectionary/treat if you're not big on making cookies during the holidays)
I love It’s a Wonderful Life and A Christmas Story! I also am obsessed with the Netflix Cinematic Universe and the Christmas-themed apocalyptic future it predicts. Non-Christmas Christmas movies are Lord of the Rings.
I MAKE ALL THE THINGS DURING CHRISTMAS.
I make chocolate oatmeal peanut butter cookies, I make tea cakes (which are essentially shortbread covered in sugar), I make chocolate chip cookies, I make almond sugar cookies for my gluten free cousins, I make chipotle rosemary roasted nuts for all my coworkers (my task for today!), I make Christmas bark. The week of Christmas my tiny apartment turns into a literal Santa’s workshop of wrapping presents and cards and food.
What about you?
