Accountant Kong
So in NES Open Tournament Golf there is Kong that shows up working as an accountant. Many I've seen some people question who exactly this is so I decided to bring up possible candidates.
First off it could be Donkey Kong Senior the original Donkey Kong, though you'd think he would have his iconic red tie on. Another candidate is Donkey Kong Junior, we do know DK Jr. does grow up. However, this Kong's appearance doesn't look entirely like DK Jr. The third possible candidate or explanation in this case is they are another Kong we haven't seen before.

Two in One Post
For my Filipino Friend's On this Day Post
The Bandits in Mario are really cool. I've seen them when I usually play on Yoshi's island, but i would imagine the Bandit and the Mabbit tried to give our OCs one of their cards anytime you call for them. They can be counted as a helping type card. I had OCs that I don't use often, but are thinking of bringing some back.
And for a Response to my Filipino Friend and with our A-Pal's pic.
Yeah the Minor characters from Tough Puppy are really cute compared to say Harvey Beaks' Minor characters. And what's weird is that with Phantomstrider, every time he talks about Harvey Beaks, the only characters he likes are the main characters, Harvey, Fee and Foo. But with the Minor characters in Tough Puppy, that Rabbit looks really cute compared to the Gigglepies from Fairly Odd Parents. Both look really cute, and the News reporter reminds me of Murphy's Mom since she's also a News Reporter. Since I know I enjoy Murphy and Mitzi too on YouTube and Twitter X. And also for my On this Day Post, yeah, I have played the Golf Game on NES the 1984 version, I played it when I used to play Animal Crossing on the GameCube, and it was pretty fun when I got to play it, but ever since I got to New Horizons, I usually focus on the latest game. But Golf does bring me memories when playing that on NES. And usually I only like that version better than NES Open Tournament Golf. And yes i have remember playing the Wii Sports version too. But the original version of Wii Sports is better since it's original and memorable. I did got Wii Sports Resort for my brother for his birthday and he does enjoy playing Basketball on there. I usually don't mind playing the bowling one. But the Wii Motion Controls are really hard to get use to, especially when i did the Motion Controls from Zelda Skyward Sword, and hey i hope the controls in the HD Switch version of Skyward Sword will be better.

The most expensive video games right now might be sitting in your basement
These sports games are full of memories but the open market has other ideas.
Everyone has their favorite sports video game. The scuffed copy of NBA Jam Tournament Edition you jammed in your Super Nintendo more times than you can count, Madden NFL 2004 where Michael Vick was so broken you could rack up 300 yard rushing with ease, or NCAA Football 14, a final chance to remember how amazing college football games could be.
These memories are valuable. They’re worth everything to you — but the open market has other ideas. There are so old, bizarre sports games that could be sitting in a box in your parents’ attic right now worth enough to pay off your student loans, or at least a month or two rent. Similarly there are objectively some sports games so horrifically awful history deemed them to be worth absolutely nothing.
Kris Paine owns and runs “Well Played Games,” an arcade and vintage game store in Greenville, North Carolina. He uses a system shared by second-hand games stores across the country that tells him what stores charge on average for used games, and what absolutely nobody wants. It’s the best metric we have to truly determine how much we care about games as a society. I asked Paine for his list of the most (and least) valuable sporting games right now. This might result in you having the best day of the year, or just being grumpy about the $20,000 game you know got sold at a yard sale for a nickel.
The most expensive sports games right now.
No. 1: Family Fun Fitness Stadium Events (NES)
A video game Holy Grail, a loose copy of Stadium Events sells for over $9,000 on the open market. If you have it complete with box and manual you’re looking at a game which last sold for $29,251.
Released in September of 1987, Stadium Events is a game you have probably played — but never knew it by this name. Initially released in a very short run, Nintendo re-issued the game as World Class Track Meet to sell alongside the “Power Pad” peripheral. Players would run and jump on an often malfunctioning Power Pad, competing in Olympic-style races.
That version is probably the one you own. I’m sorry to tell you it’s worth nothing. However, if you somehow purchased the game before Nintendo re-branded it you’re sitting on one the rarest video games of all time. Nintendo typically did production runs of 10,000 units, though collectors believe far less copies of Stadium Events were created, due to the change in title.
No. 2: Exertainment Mountain Bike Rally/Speed Racer (SNES)
There have been some really, really weird video game peripherals over the years — but nothing quite compares to the ancient Peleton grandfather, the “Extertainment Life Cycle.” A crossover product between Nintendo and exercise bike manufacturer “Life Cycle,” this was really Nintendo’s first attempt at cornering the lifestyle/fitness market in video games. It flopped so spectacularly they didn’t try it again until the release of the Wii.
The big issue is that the bike cost $800 on its release in 1994. Accounting for inflation that makes it $1,384 today. There were also only two games that supported the Extertainment Life Cycle, the pack-in combo of Mountain Bike Rally and Speed Racer. Yes, that Speed Racer, from the anime — except you’d pedal to make the Mach 5 drive.
It’s unclear how many copies of the pack in game still exist, but a loose copy is worth $1,346, with a complete in box one selling for $2,683.
No. 3: Daytona USA Championship [Net Link Edition] (Sega Saturn)
DAAAAYTOOOOONAAAAAAAAA!
A relic of a now hilarious time, this edition of the iconic arcade game was released in the internet’s infancy and represents one of the first games that could be played online. This used the incredible looking “Sega Net Link,” which was a partnership between Sega and early internet service provider Planetweb, Inc. Using all the power a 28.8 kbps modem could muster, it allowed players to compete online for the relatively low cost of $199. Keep in mind, this was at a time where PC gaming was prohibitively expensive for most people.
Still, the Sega Net Link didn’t attract too much attention and the Sega Saturn was later replaced with the Dreamcast. Still, if you have a copy of the Net Link version of Daytona USA it’ll fetch $581 for a loose copy, and over $1,000 if you have it in the box.
And now the cheapest sports games right now
They can’t all be gems waiting to make you extreme amounts of money, and these games prove that in incredible fashion. Any chances of these ever being worth anything is nothing, and keeping them around your house just hurts any items they’re stored next to.
No. 1: Enduro Racer (Commodore 64)
You might have fond memories of this on the Sega Master System or the arcade, but the Commodore 64 version was a steaming pile of trash. Even Commodore 64 collectors tend to pass on this one unless they absolutely need to complete their collection.
The game sells for $1.95, and Paine said he doesn’t even both buying them for less than $1 when they come in, because nobody ever buys it.
No. 2: Major League Baseball 2K7 (PSP)
I love everything about writing that title. It takes a very specific person not only to want a copy of Major League Baseball 2K7, but absolutely has to have it available on the go with their PSP.
This game sucks, and if you have a copy it’s worth $1.99. Paine has never sold a single copy of this game.
No. 3: Super Play Action Football (SNES)
Released in 1992, this was supposed to be the pre-eminent football experience until the release of the Madden series. It’s a good thing Madden came along, because this game was horrible in every conceivable way.
Writes Paine:
“It says the price is $3.19, but in three years I have never sold a copy. Any trades I get that includes it is automatically worth slightly less, as the stink of Super Play Action Football infects other games.”
No. 4: Sports Illustrated Golf Classic (GameBoy)
“It says $3.19 as well as the loose base price. Like Play Action Football this game is terrible. It somehow manages to be worse than Golf, and less charming too — because at least Golf had Mario in it ... sort of.”
No. 5: Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf (NES)
There is no fighting in Lee Trevino’s Fighting Golf. It’s just a bad golf game and worth $5.

NES Open Tournament Golf (1991) ---------- ⛳ 🏌️♂️ Looking for a relaxing, stress-free, humble gaming experience? Look no further than NES Open Tournament Golf. Mario and Luigi hit up three different courses with Princess Toadstool and Princess Daisy as their caddies, offering advice at certain points during the game. Mario's old rival Donkey Kong is now working as an accountant for the golf tournament as he secures the winning prize money for the golf champion. . The game moved a million copies and became the 75th best selling game on the NES, which isn't bad for a golf game considering there are 679 licensed games released on this console in North America. Mario Golf can get addicting so give this sleepy gem a chance, you can keep yourself awake by yelling "FORE!!!!" at your TV. . . . #nintendo #nes #8bit #mariogolf #golf #supermario #mariobros #luigi #peach #princesstoadstool #princessdaisy #daisy #donkeykong #mariosports #nesopentournamentgolf #classicnes #sports #golfswag #golflife #instagolf #golfswing #retrogamer #retrocollective #nescollector #classicgaming #nintendogames #nesfan #nowyoureplayingwithpower #nintendoentertainmentsystem #nintendopower https://www.instagram.com/p/B1uMw-dHi1g/?igshid=12q5zoe3xk37r

Quote
Last year, Nintendo made the slightly uncontroversial and in line with what competitors have been doing for decades business decision to start charging for the service to play games online with the Nintendo Switch. In order to sweeten the deal somewhat a paid membership gets you access to online play, exclusive offers (such as cosmetics in some games and those stupid but cool but stupid but expensive but worth it NES Switch controllers), sometimes cloud saves and most controversially gives you access to a growing library of NES games playable as long as you're subbed up. Some vocal gamers, however, did not like this decision at all because they either already own and play the NES games on offer (lies nobody ever intentionally bought Super Dodge Ball let alone played it on the go) or they didn't want the NES games but wouldn't mind free N64 games or SNES games perhaps? Like winged monkeys with neckbeards they took to social media en mass to whine about it. This level of entitlement we've never really understood. We'd love a crème brulée made from Jamie Oliver's own nipple milk topped with gratinated Marilyn Monroe tagnuts, but we're not going to get it from Kamil's Fried Chicken for £1.49. We're going to get dog cock in a pitta because that's what KFC is actually selling. If you don't want to play free NES games for signing up to an online service. Just don't. Just don't and don't tell anybody you didn't want to whilst you aren't. We do admire the optimism of disgruntled gamers STILL responding to every Nintendo Twitter announcement with: And we're struggling to understand. What's the mentality here? Are they mistaking a regional social media marketing account of a multinational electronics company with the Make A Wish foundation? If they were is that really the wish you want to run with all things considered? However, the entitled little so and so's do have a point. In a very Nintendo way, not all of the NES games currently on offer are stellar nor does there seem to be a rhyme or reason to the selection of games or the order they are being added. FRET NOT because here's our essential guide with each game either rated: worth a try, all-time stone cold classics or games that should have stayed unplayable. Adventures of Lolo Play as a face and collect the hearts until the angry skulls run after you. Defend yourself by turning them into bubble gum eggs? Our verdict: Once we worked out the controls, quite enjoyed this one. Balloon Fight We feel really sorry for the people out there whose first experience with video games was Balloon Fight because they don't play games anymore. They've avoided them ever since 1986 because this game is about as fun as Joust which everyone knows was not and never will be fun. Our verdict: Push off a cliff but make sure you pop both balloons first. Just in case. Baseball Like all sports games if you don't have a [name of team sport] game then this one has you covered. Seriously. They're all the same. Unless it's an American sport in which case it's worse. Our verdict: Alright if you like this kind of thing. Donkey Kong You too can pretend to be a sad middle-aged hot sauce salesman and/or professional loser by playing this infuriating game. BUT DAT MUSIC THO. Our verdict: Good for a quickie in the kitchen every now and then. Double Dragon Like River City Ransom but good. Our verdict: That these early games spawned entire genres is sometimes very surprising. Dr. Mario It's Dr. Mario. There's never a good time not to Dr. Mario. You want to be the one to be out here pretending Dr. Mario ain't all that? Who hurt you in the past? Our verdict: Marry. Dr. Mario SP For those not good enough at germing the other germs, a quick skip to a sort of end. Our verdict: A one night stand only but make sure you play safe because there's no knowing what diseases you might get. Excitebike If you can tolerate the awful SFX this Drive 'Em Up is mildly challenging. Our verdict: [HORriFiC EngInE NOiSe]. Ghosts'n Goblins Like Half Minute Hero except that half minute is spent being constantly attacked by enemies which come out of the ground then you die. Out verdict: We've never gotten past the first screen to be honest. Gradius Like TwinBee but horizontal. Tough to boot. Our verdict: Dark Souls but in space. Gradius SP Made almost playable starting the game powered up until you get hit that is then it's back to buggery. Our verdict: Bloodborne but in space. Ice Climber Like QWOP but for jumping upwards and less fun. Our verdict: Climb up a cliff just to push this off. Ice Hockey Like all sports games if you don't have a [name of team sport] game then this one has you covered. Seriously. They're all the same. Our verdict: Alright if you like this kind of thing. The Legend of Zelda Confession time! This half of TGAM never played this game originally. I assumed from the bits of it I'd been exposed to from WarioWare and both NES Remix games that there was more to this game. There isn't. Our verdict: It is a secret to everyone that this game is a bit shit. The Legend of Zelda SP Confession time! This half of TGAM never played this game originally. I assumed from the bits of it I'd been exposed to from WarioWare and both NES Remix that there was more to this game. There isn't. Our verdict: It is a secret to everyone that this game is a bit shit. Warmed up. Mario Bros. Before they were super and before jumping in NES games felt nice this is what the Mario brothers did. Flushing giant flies, angry crabs, turtles and ice blocks out of the sewer. For coins. Our verdict: Fun to co-op but lacks the stamina to really smash your back doors in. Metroid One of the best retro Metroidvanias ever. Although younger gamers weaned on the mother's milk of Dark Souls and the like might need a pen and paper to draw a map as they go. Our verdict: Put a chuffing ring on it. Metroid SP Like the above but super racist against Ridley. Our verdict: For those who want to feel a big man but just don't have the capacity. Mighty Bomb Jack Remind us why were jumping on boxes as the mummies turn into coins? Our verdict: They don't make them like this anymore. Probably for good reason. NES Open Tournament Golf Like all sports games if you don't have a [name of team sport] game then this one has you covered. Seriously. They're all the same. Our verdict: Alright if you like this kind of thing. Ninja Gaiden Like River City Ransom but hard. Our verdict: Try if you like BDSM. Pro Wrestling If this is Pro we'd hate to see the amateurs. Our verdict: Ring out! River City Ransom Like Double Dragon but worse Our verdict: Push off a conveyor belt to the void. Soccer Like all sports games if you don't have a [name of team sport] game then this one has you covered. Seriously. They're all the same. Our verdict: Alright if you like this kind of thing which is definitely Soccer. Solomon's Key What is this game about? Make blocks to touch the bell and liberate fairies? Nuts. Our verdict: Who knows? Super Dodge Ball We thought dodge ball is what you play when the weather's too shit to play a proper sport and all you have is a ball. Let alone an actual game. With actual rules. And an arena. And a video game version. Our verdict: No. Just no. Super Mario Bros. Yes, you may have played the original on the NES and again with Super Mario All-Stars and Super Mario Bros. Deluxe and the virtual console releases and the Wii Super Mario All-Stars re-release. And Super Luigi Bros. on the Wii-U. You may have even remade and remixed it on Super Mario Maker on more than one platform. But it's fucking Super Mario Bros. It's like pizza or Marmite. Everyone loves it. Our verdict: Get down on one knee for this one. Super Mario Bros. 3. Do us a favour before even trying to pretend you have an edgy opinion about how it isn't that good. Get or buy a friend. Give them the second Joy-Con and play Super Mario Bros. 3 together. If you don't enjoy yourself just end it. End it now. Our verdict: Worth committing bigamy* with a friend for. Tecmo Bowl What is this? Is this some kind of war thing? Not into it. Our verdict: Off the fucking cliff. Tennis Like all sports games if you don't have a [name of team sport] game then this one has you covered. Seriously. They're all the same. Our verdict: Alright if you like this kind of thing. TwinBee Like Gradius but upways Our verdict: Okay, what both this platform and Sega Mega Drive Classics need are some decent fucking documentation. Here's what the user guide says for every. single. game: Not exactly helpful is it? What's strange about this shoddy aspect is that the Virtual Console on the Wii-U had whole manuals viewable from within a menu. Wario's Woods Worth a try but not for everyone. Think Tetris lacks platforming? This may be for you. Our verdict: Go for coffee and see how you feel. Yoshi Crack with Bloopers. Our verdict: Marry but with constant shagging. So there we have it, all rated and up-to-date as of this blog going live. Any way you look at it, it is something special to have a museum of NES games at your fingertips with some upgraded with online play should you be inclined. With Tecmo, Konami, Capcom, HAL and KOEI games already on the system there're stacks of potential titles making their way to a Switch near you. *How Mario describes himself when he has eaten a Super Mushroom.

Lake Ridge Weekly Newsletter Oct 23, 2017
Would like to thank all who came out Saturday night for this year’s Annual Awards Banquet. It was a great evening. Would like to congratulate Kelli Eagen and Jean Ackerman for being selected as Members of the Year. And would also like to congratulate Russ Bastian, our Superintendent, for being selected as Employee of the Year. All are 3 are well deserving of the awards. And of course would like to thank Bill and Tammy for the great dinner and Mary, Melynne, Aaron and Madison for the great service. It takes a lot of hard work and effort in running both a golf course, bar and restaurant. It simply would not be possible without the hard work and dedication of all the Lake Ridge staff. So please thank all the employees for all they do. Pictures of this year’s event have been downloaded to our Facebook page for your viewing pleasure.
Want to give a shout out to Brett Hahn for shooting a “59” last week. What an amazing round. Brett shot 30 – 29 in route to setting a new 18 hole course record. Great round Brett. And if anyone needs a little help with their game, give Brett a call at GolfTEC. He obviously knows how to play the game.

Lake Ridge Weekly Newsletter Sep 11, 2017
Would like to thank Tom Sorensen and his family for having the 15th Annual Kyle Sorensen Memorial Golf Outing this past weekend. The weather was perfect as over 177 golfers took to the course to play in the 4-person scramble all day Saturday and all day Sunday. It takes a lot of hard work and effort to put on an event like this and it would not be possible without all the hard work and dedication of all our staff. The course looked great, the food was awesome and the beer was cold. Thanks to all who made this a very successful event. This is a great tournament and all the money raised goes towards a scholarship fund in Kyle’s name. Everyone had a great time and we look forward to hosting this event again next year.
Would also like to thank the Plattsmouth High School Class of 1972 for having their class reunion Friday night in Fairway’s Restaurant. It was a great start to a very busy and successful weekend at Lake Ridge. Whether it’s a golf outing, class reunion, birthday party or any social event, we look forward to working with you to plan and host your event and make it an enjoyable and memorable experience for all.

RYDER CUP AGAINST TABLE CREEK
This year’s Ryder Cup against Table Creek was another nail bitter. Lake Ridge lost Saturday mornings 2-man scramble 5-3. Table Creek then dominated the afternoon best ball winning 7-1 and taking 12–4 lead after day one at Table Creek. The Lake Ridge boys fought back hard on Sunday winning the morning alternate shot 4.5 to 3.5 to cut into Table Creeks lead and then dominated the afternoon individuals matches11–5 only to fall short of taking back the plaque. Table Creek won 21.5 to 18.5. The series is now tied at 5-5 with Table Creek having now won 4 in a row. Win lose or draw, our boys played great and fought a good fight. This is a great competition and I look forward to doing it again next year and hopefully coming out on top. I also want to give another shout out to our grounds crew. The course looked great and the greens are the in the best shape I have ever seen them in. The boys from Table Creek all commented on how good our greens are. Please thank the grounds crew when you see them.

We have Karaoke every Friday and Saturday starting at 9:00. However, if you ever want to practice your skills, once the kitchen closes, we can fire up the Karaoke and let the singing begin.
