Le Gros is an oil on canvas painting by Franz Kline on 1961 and is now housed in the Museum of Modern Art in New York City, USA.
Franz Kline is an American abstract expressionist painter, and just like Jackson Pollock, Kline was also into action painting. One of the examples of his works using the action painting is the Le Gros.
This painting of him is said to be one of his important works to mark his career in the abstract expressionist movement. Kline used his signature style of black and white using some lines with this painting as well. He even described this style as it is unrelated to anything but it knows how to speak for its own existence, that is why in some reviews about his works, most of the critiques said that his paintings really don't mean nothing, but it is made to make someone feel something.
To tell you the truth, the first time I saw this painting it just made me curious and just realized that it is actually good to see in a minimalist house, because of the plain strokes he used, and the blank space is greater than the ones that were being occupied by the painting. But as you look closely to it, I myself realized that there may have been a story behind this painting, the dark colors and hard/thick strokes may define a feeling, a feeling of anger and a feeling of a stiff emotion. The spaces in between may even make you feel the feeling of being alone and a part of it the feeling of uncertainty.
Le Gros may have been a magnificent painting of Kline, however, it is mainly for the emotion and the feeling. And in conclusion, the view/s of a person towards this painting will always be subjective.

International Museum Day 2014
This year is the 2nd year of International Council of Museums Philippines, this year's event happened at the Hotel Benilde in De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde.
"Museum collections make connections" is this year's theme of ICOM, on where they emphasized the ability or the capacity of a museum to not just tell a story, but also to gage with the community through shared memory. And gladly, our class for Technical Writing took part in the last portion of the event.
Our class became a part of the activity "World Cafe" on where you have to be with a team and share things about what must be kept in the museum and how to sustain those artworks as well. Our group was partnered with the Ayala Museum group and being some of them a graduate of DLS-CSB we all decided to focus on Museum of Contemporary Art and Design of the college, and we really came up of the possible collections for this, however, we all agreed that we will focus on the works of the students that may be a big part for the improvement of MCAD.
After the sharing we traveled to a different table to share and suggest some things for the other group as well. Then it was followed by the sharing, and some of my colleagues stepped up and even reported in front. Though for the first set of collections, what caught my attention were the things about history and how we can link those collections for the present time, next was about the education and how we can make the museums a timeless one, lastly the one I truly agree is to make the "Mission and Vision" of the museum really visible on what they have for the present and for the future as well.
The last part of our activity was answering how to sustain those collections, and our group decided that we will need to collaborate with some institutions, we must emphasize the benefits of a museum, and finally we see that in order to survive and protect the museum itself is to agree that there's a problem and as an institution we will need to find for a solution and work on it.
Tumblr media
This event is indeed a meaningful one to me and everyone who attended. Though what I think is good here is that we knew a lot of things, most especially the knowledge that we got from our peers and the people who are practicing the profession of the museum already. ICOM is also essential for the museum practitioners in order to see what is essential for the future of museums in the Philippines, and how to improve it more. Because what I truly got from this seminar was that museums are not just for education and fun, it's also about connecting with the people and their culture. Lastly, it's about communicating to everyone to share them what we had, what they have, and what they may have.

Color Me Katie's Street Art
We've always seen street art anywhere around the world, specifically in New York, most of those are hand painted and the most famous ones are the spray painted ones that we see on random walls on the street. However, an artist/blogger named Katie Sokoler or more known as Color Me Katie (of the blog http://colormekatie.blogspot.com/) changed the game of street art in New York.
Sokoler is a known freelance artist and photographer in New York, but besides being an artist she produces these kinds of artworks for fun and to inspire people as well. Street art is one of those that she has mastered, but instead of paints she uses papers, cutouts with different figures, and she tapes/sticks it on random walls where people pass by. And as people pass by she takes a photo of them, she even said in an interview that she takes a photo of those who she felt really connected with her art piece.
These are some of the examples:
Tumblr media Tumblr media
©Katie Sokoler
Her artworks always talk and connect with not just the passerby but also with her viewers. The art pieces that she creates are like one of those that can be so simple, but can truly put a smile on one's face. It's meant to be a happy one and always connected with Sokoler's personality which is her liveliness. As a fan of her artworks, what's also great with what she puts is everything on the wall are interactive and can speak for it self.
Sokoler's street art is really unique among the others and the good thing is she always see to it that everything she do can tell a story. The question now for everyone is, how will you able to create something that can actually make the world a better place even in the simplest form of it only?

Oro, Plata, Mata: Critic
War and social status/symbol is the main theme of Oro, Plata, Mata or Gold, Silver, Bad Luck. The film was set during the time on where the Philippines was a colony of Japan, this was also the time on where the war also erupted around the world.
Going on now with the technical aspect of the film, the production of the film, from the setting up to the smallest details of the wardrobe, totally matched with the era that the story's pertaining to. The whole set truly gave a vintage mood to the film. Though, maybe being it a film of the 1980s, the cinematography is not that clear yet, however, giving focus on which point of view's is which became evident in the film due to the focusing of the faces of the characters.
In this film it is also evident that the point of view that was used was a point of view of a person who's in a position or in the higher class of the society, first reason for this was that it was about two families who can really provide things for themselves. But, even though it was the point of view of the film, the good thing that happened here was that their story became the central tension of the whole story, the rise and fall of the different characters paved way for the story's rise and fall as well.
The connection of the characters and how the story's pacing is really direct, and in connection with this what can catch a viewer's attention is that how the characters move is like a normal Filipino, be them a part of the elite class or the normal class. The perception on women and men was so evident here, the hierarchy, religion, beliefs, as well as the survival were also shown. And the good thing here was that the film did not just show some symbolisms that were applicable during those times, but also the film showed some symbolisms and even practices that are still strong this present time.
According to some researches, Oro, Plata, Mata is considered as one of the most significant contributions to the Philippine Cinema, for it showed a good representation of one of the highlights of the Philippine History and Culture. The overall theme of the film on how the lines were written, and how the artists gave life to their characters up to the how each setting/each house connected to the flow of the film truly became a big impact for the film to be treated not just as a simple film about history, but everyone may always consider it as a part of the Philippine's greatest artworks about its history and culture.

The Surface of the World
A new of its kind in the country.
Tumblr media
A mystery, that's the first thought that came inside my mind when I saw the wall in front of the museum, then when I entered it was like a labyrinth that started with two different stories with similar settings.
Tumblr media
"Stunned Man" by Julian Rosefeldt is the first video art of the exhibit. The video showed two videos with similar settings with a similar person, but with different angles or perspectives. Technically speaking, the arrangement of the place of the "stunned man" changes in the eyes of the viewers due to his actions inside the place. And as you will observe it one video is later than the other, and this may help the viewers to understand the details of the things and how the subject is changing the supporting details inside the video.
As you go inside the exhibit, you will see more moving images and various places. And with what I saw when I moved further more, I can truly say that I am sticking with my labyrinth perception of how everything was arranged. The reason being is that the videos were not presented as a normal one you see in normal exhibits, because you will see there that the videos were treated as art installations as well especially those of the hidden ones that you have to pass through to a maze-like hallway to get inside to the room on where the other videos were viewed.
Tumblr media
The next one that caught my attention is this work of Cocoy Lumabao, the only Filipino Artist of the exhibition. The video art is entitled "Index (Elevated Train), the video shows a perspective from a person inside a train, and as a viewer I noticed that it can truly move me, for it can make you travel just by watching. How the train travels also highlighted the architecture by the details that you will see along the way.
Tumblr media
Elizabeth Price's "At the House of Mr X" is actually my favorite because of the details and how everything was presented. The texts of the video showed guidance and a thrilling action at the same time. However, this video may also be not just of the architecture, but it may also apply to the interior design since the Price highlighted here the "inside" part of the house, and not just that but also the materials that were used on everything that may be found inside. Lastly, it showed to us that every interior decorations everywhere can truly affect the formation of a place.
There are still a lot to feature in this exhibition, since there are 12 artists who participated in the said exhibition. And going back to my first line of my introduction, this one is truly a first in the Philippines because architecture and video rarely move together as one, and what's great with this exhibition is that there are different international and local artists who participated, which is actually a rare one as well to happen in our country.
"The Surface of the World" is truly an indication that modern art is truly moving with technology and with the proper use of space as well.

The Other Side of Yesterday (Short Film Review)
What's to come tomorrow and what's left behind in yesterday, is all determined by what we do today. -Wong Fu Productions
Tumblr media
The Other Side of Yesterday is a short film by Wong Fu Productions in collaboration with LACMA9 Art + Film Lab, starring Porter Lynn and Chris Riedell.
Tumblr media
The story of the short film is about a woman named Iris, who slowly learns how to value the importance of the past in order to move and grow with her decisions in the present. Iris traveled in time to mend the past and to see if there is still hope, and all those realizations happened when he met a very mysterious man named Keller. The short film also discussed a very sensitive social and somehow a personal issue. And as a whole it may teach the viewers a different kind of life lesson and a different perspective in every story.
In this short film the story didn't speak for itself, but of course being it a short film by Wong Fu Productions the cinematography and its scoring became a great match for the short film.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The cinematography of the film was a mixture of close up shots and wide shots, which speaks that there's an emptiness and longing for the character. For the scoring, the music is actually minimal, but it flowed with the dialogues and the flow of the story accordingly.
Symbolisms are truly evident as well in this short film. The characters themselves are actually a symbolism of the reality, a symbolism of a belief. Together with them are also the things that symbolizes the personalities of the main character and also the lives of a lot of people. And through these symbolisms the viewers will see the growth of the characters throughout the entire short film, as well as their path leading towards the end of it.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Personally, I've been a fan of Wong Fu Productions since then, they are these YouTubers who brings out beauty in every short film that they make. They mostly speak the language of love in a unique way. However, The Other Side of Yesterday is a short film that I may say is totally different from the other short films that Wong Fu Productions made. In here they presented another issue with different symbols, new perspective, and life changing life.
Photos were screen captured from the YouTube video of The Other Side of Yesterday by Wong Fu Productions.

Wanderland Music and Arts Festival 2014
Last May 17, 2014 marks the last Saturday of my Summer 2014, and I believe that I truly spent it right by being a part of this year's Wanderland Music and Arts Festival.
Tumblr media
This year is the 2nd year of Wanderland, and the theme this year is Carnival! The Globe Circuit Event Grounds totally became a playground for this year's Wanderers. The whole area was filled with carnival essentials, like the Carousel, Carnival-themed booths, Carnival games, and even magicians and other acts that you will see in a Carnival. Check Globe's coverage of the Carnival-themed place: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HXYWh1YlGBs&feature=share&list=UUTyQ8SrqYB9t2zmnGYVxtqg&index=4
Tumblr media
Wanderland won't be complete without the live artists with their street arts that day as well. This year's participants are Anjo Bolarda, JP Cuison, and De Jae Pa'este.
Tumblr media
And of course Wanderland won't be complete without the music (which I will give more focus on). The lineup of Wanderland this year is a good one, even though it was not that of a blast than last year; the good thing this year is each band compliment the music or the songs of each other, for there are Indie Rock, Indie Pop-Rock, and Indie Folk.
Tumblr media
The music part of the festival was started by the local bands, specifically the Chocolate Grass, followed by Brisom, then Techy Romantics, Ransom Collective, and Franco. Shame on me, but I actually did not catch or totally watch the sets of the local bands because I am busy with different things (like attending the meet and greets and signings). Though as I heard it, and even from the international bands that I've talked to, I can say that the local bands can totally keep pace with the international bands!
Now, for the international bands, Woody Pitney and his band started it.
Tumblr media
Their band is a rising band all the way from Melbourne, Australia, and what really got me with his music is Woody's songs are the greatest representation of the Indie Folk Rock scene. And I tell you, they are totally amazing live, and they even made the fan girls scream! During his set he and his band also covered "Ain't No Sunshine" by Bill Withers and he made it as his own by making it a rock cover. Then they ended their set with his latest single, "You Can Stay".
Together with the raindrops during her set, Lucy Rose Parton together with her band performed as the second international act for the festival.
Tumblr media
Lucy Rose is actually one of my favorites in the industry (I even know all her songs by heart! For I've been a fan since 2011), and yes, she is one of those that I am totally waiting to perform during that day. She performed most of her songs from her debut album "Like I Used To", and performed some of her new songs from her new album that will be released later this year. Her songs can truly move one's heart, and her voice is known as one of the sweetest and soothing voices that you will ever hear.
The sunset worked with The Paper Kites' performance as they performed right after Lucy Rose.
Tumblr media
The Paper Kites is the other one that I am most excited about for Wanderland, they are one of my favorite bands and just like Lucy Rose I've been a fan of them since 2011. They performed some of their songs from their Woodland EP, Young North EP, and also from their latest album entitled States. Their whole set actually became a break from the reality as I may call it, besides me being in love with the genre of their music, it was a set on where you will just chill, sing along, and just enjoy the greatness of the whole Indie Folk music.
In total opposite with the music of The Paper Kites, the Last Dinosaurs followed them with a music that rocked the crowd.
Tumblr media
Last Dinosaurs performed their songs from their In A Million Years album, and they also performed some songs for their upcoming album. Their whole set was actually the time on where fan girls literally screamed and they made the crowd jump and sing the whole time.
A mixture of local bands/singers was formed by Globe for the Wonderful All Stars. They performed right after Last Dinosaurs. And what totally caught our attention during this set besides the great music was that confettis blasted that brought surprises and smiles to everyone especially the ones who were near the stage.
Tumblr media
There was a long break after their performance, because the next to perform is one of the most awaited bands of Wanderland, The Royal Concept.
Tumblr media
They performed their songs from their Goldrushed album, and yes, they're the band who really made the crowd dancing and singing! And what's good with their set was that David Larson, the vocalist, even joined the crowd for a couple of seconds during one song. Some even said that their set was a dream not just for the crowd, but also for the photographers and videographers, because every moment of their set was a must to capture.
The second to the last band to perform is the Architecture in Helsinki.
Tumblr media
Their cute songs and cute performance, with their uniformed costumes made the crowd exercising! Their songs are good as a workout song, and what truly caught my attention during this set was that they totally made the crowd participate with their dance and songs. The disco kind of lighting also highlighted their songs that are like an 80's-themed music.
The headliner for this year's Wanderland is The Drums.
Tumblr media
The Drums sang most of the crowd's favorites from their albums The Drums and Portamento. And during their set you will really feel the crowd's anticipation and the feeling of "finally you're now here performing!", because a lot totally waited for them for a very long time. Actually, even their vocalist, Jonny Pierce, even said "I'm sorry if it took us so long to be here in your country!". The songs of The Drums are also like a vintage for surfing themed music, which is actually good for the crowd during those times because besides it being lively their songs are also a great ones to cool down and just enjoy the entire night of Wanderland.
Tumblr media
©Wanderland Music and Arts Festival
To sum everything up, this year's Wanderland is actually one of the bests that I've been in to. I love last year's Wanderland, but my experiences this year made it better. And the good part for this year was that I did not just become a fan, I now understood the process and the stress of this whole production, seeing the works from the backstage, talking to the organizers, and most especially talking to the bands made me realize that this may be a fun thing to do, but it can also be the greatest stress the one can receive. Lastly, because of those experiences and conversations I now realize that I really want to work in this kind of field, and maybe someday I can organize a concert in our country too.

Video
youtube
I never knew that it would work, I never knew that they'll love it, my fangirl life just said "Yes, Eena bring some bubbles for St. Clarity." and I did. During the first time that I knew that The Paper Kites will be in for Wanderland Music and Arts Festival 2014, one of my first thoughts was to bring bubbles for St. Clarity, the reason was because of their music videos. And I guess it truly worked, the band told me they loved it, and I'm so grateful that they did! Also, thanks to my friends Ate Mia and Kuya PV and Joey and Deanna and Jam and Deaz and everyone(woohoo) for bringing my dream into reality and for helping me blow bubbles! Now, for those who are asking the bubbles didn't come out from a machine (haha).
Thanks to Ryuko Barrera too for this video. <3
P.S. The video's not complete but yeah, also forgive me because the video doesn't have a thumbnail yet.

The 1975 Live In Manila
Ohhhhh hey.
Tumblr media
It's been almost a week since I saw them that they're real. The accent's real, Matty's real, George is real, oh goodness gracious Ross is real, and Adam is real! I remember seeing a title on the suggestion section of YouTube while I'm watching a Vampire Weekend video 2 years ago, and it was entitled "Sex", and in my mind "Who the hell will entitle their song sex?!" Yeah, that's my initial reaction. However, as time passes by, and when their song Chocolate became  a hit, and when they even DMed all of their followers on Twitter before just to say that they'll be having an album, I guess I became a fan. (that sentence was weird, I know) Anyway too much for the love, let me now share my experiencse right now.
I've waited in line for hours, and waited for more hours to start. But goodness, their "fans" were indeed really wild (okay I won't rant about this, I'll just share the love). And now fast forward to the time they arrived. When they arrived, Matty and George kept on looking at the crowd, and when they finally got up on stage, their reaction was  this.
Tumblr media
Haha Matty.
Anyway, there's really nothing much for the ATC Show except that their accents were (still are, forever are) lovely, and they are lovely. So right now I'll just share some photos that I took during that time.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Fast forwarding once more to the Meet and Greet part!
So I'm really nervous, and when I say nervous really nervous. Anyway when I got up on stage the first thing I did was I hugged Ross, and I got some gifts, then instead of Adam getting just his, he got all the gifts of the guys, then Matty grabbed all those, and looked what's inside, and I'm busy talking to Ross and busy hugging him, then Matty poked me and said "Thank you so much! *with his English accent, and with his eyes on me.* Then all I said was "You're welcome and thank you so much too!", and then when the photo op was done, I took a selfie first with Ross, actually the guards didn't allow me, but then Ross said "No, it's fine with me.", and this happened.
Tumblr media
Then after this I hugged Adam, and then hugged Matty, and he asked me something about my gift, I told you it's so easy to bribe Matty haha just kidding. But seriously, right now I'll just keep my gift as a mystery for it is unique, and you'll know it at the latter part of this entry. Then lastly I hugged George, and this was the result of our photo. *sorry for the people that I blurred, and for my 2 friends that I blurred.
Tumblr media
GLORIETTA SHOW: March 28
First of all I just want to thank the forever beautiful Belle Cuenca for giving me a VIP ticket for this show! I love you girl. So there, me and Belle arrived in Greenbelt by like 6:30-ish PM, and then we really ran all the way from Greenbelt to Glorietta, with my laptop inside my bag, and with my camera and a telephoto lens, so imagine the pain. Then we arrived at the activity area by like 6:40-ish PM, and then minutes later the show started! They started with "The City", and everything followed. I guess my words just can't describe their music instead I'll just share the photographs once more. ANYHOW, THEY ARE SO MUCH BETTER LIVE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And last story before I move on to the next one, so when they started playing Robbers I almost cried, it's one of my favorite songs of the band, and also during that time I knew that they won't play my 2 favorites ever. But man, Robbers almost made me cry.
Tumblr media
Also, everyone's looking for a photo of George, well I got one.
Tumblr media
Right now I'll fast forward again to the meet and greet part, on where I sneaked in to the meet and greet (long story.). And this is what happened.
When it's our turn already, I hugged Matty first, but before I hugged him he looked at my face and said "Oh my! Cigar girl!"(long story, but if you saw the pattern you're great) AHHH HE KNOWS ME MATT HEALY KNOWS ME JEEZ. And then I was in the middle of George and Ross, and then I told Ross, "I met you yesterday guys.", and then he looked down on my face and smiled and said "Yeah yeah! Hi!" ROSS KNOWS ME TOO JEEZ(or I just assumed). Haha and then before the photographer took the photo George said "Here we go!" *pointing the photographer, and then I said "Wait wait I'm still tip-py toeing!", and I tell you George and Ross's laugh were hilarious haha.
Now, here's our photo, told you I tiptoed, and you see both Ross and George were in my direction and George lowered himself for me hahaha.
Tumblr media
I want to thank my friend Vincent too! Heyyyy haha.
As I conclude this super random blog, I just want to say thank you so much The 1975 for being so nice, and being one of the greatests! I love you guys and see you next year! Also, thanks to MMI and Ayala Malls for making all these things possible. 'Til next year my lads!

Dear How I Met Your Mother
Tumblr media
It’s my first time in months to cry once more while watching an entire show, and it’s my first time in my life to constantly crying every now and then (yeah maybe you’ll say I'm overreacting or I’m overacting, but no), yeah, I slept because a friend of mine told me to sleep because we’re both crying, so I slept and now I woke up, then a flashback hit me, and it is when Barney’s carrying her daughter Ellie (and now I’m crying again so forgive me if I’ll have grammatical errors here, the reason is I'm crying while typing, and my emotions are overriding the proper condition of my mind).
Moving on, the last time I made a blog entry of a finale is the time when Make It Or Break It ended, but I just stated the reasons why I love them, so now I’ll make a letter for How I Met Your Mother, just for fun (and for more tears to shed).
Before this one starts: It’s a long one so you’ll either leave or continue.
Dear How I Met Your Mother,
March of 2008 was the very first day that I’ve finally decided to watch How I Met Your Mother Season 1 on DVD! Then to tell you the reason why I continued with it because in every episode, it’s either I’m having a good laugh (BECAUSE MAN, BARNEY STINSON IS THE BEST (I love you NPH)), or I’m simply having a lesson that I never knew will use in my life. Right now I suddenly remembered the time when Marshall’s dad died, and I never knew that the lessons embedded there were so useful in the near future that I got during those times. Now, to tell you the truth you guys filled a big portion of my life, it’s been 6 years, and right now it’s like I’m breaking up with someone so distant that I don’t even know if I’ll ever meet again somewhere in my life.
However, one thing’s for sure, I know I partly do not like the ending, but when I woke up I realized more things, I realized that sometimes you have to patch some things in the past first before moving forward. And the best lesson that I got is simply what the world is reiterating to us over and over again, and it is that life is not perfect and will never be one, but you just have to take a ride and enjoy every single moment of it.
Carter and Craig, THANK YOU for this, just thank you!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
To Marshall and Lily (and to Jason and Alyson), first to Jason and Alyson, thank you so much for bringing to life one of the most perfect couples in the history of television EVER. Now, to Marshall and Lily, I don’t know, I’ve always wanted to have a relationship like what you have guys, it’s perfect, and it is amazing. I remember the time when I got Lily as the result of my Zimbio quiz, and then I suddenly realized that I am so you Lily, I am so her, that I actually don’t know how to let her character to go. You guys were amazing, maybe somewhere along the line I’ll meet a Marshall, but for now I just want to say THANK. YOU.
Tumblr media
Barney, my favorite. NPH, thank you for being the best! And to Barney, thank you. I don’t know what to say, but yeah thank you (for banging a lot of women, haha please).
Tumblr media
Robin freakin Scherbatsky, I’ve always wanted you to end up with Barney, but I am also happy that you ended up with Ted. Cobie, you are one of the best ones! And Robin, at first you made me realize that yeah in this world you just can’t get right away, sometimes you have to wait for the universe to have you, but first you have to accept yourself and learn how to give a portion of yours to the world. Thank you, just thank you.
Tumblr media
Cristin, my favorite. Okay mother, THEY DIDN’T GIVE JUSTICE WHEN THEY KILLED YOU RIGHT AWAY, but thank you for being the greatest MYSTERY of all-time. In those 9 seasons you made me realize more that life isn’t perfect, and you have to solve more mysteries and figure things out about yourself, because that’s life. And maybe somewhere along the way you’ll just find your destiny, or maybe you’ll find something for you, and that is when you know that you’ll have to treasure it forever.
Tumblr media
Josh Radnor, oh Josh, you are one of my favorite people in the entire world!, you’re simply just so amazing. But Ted, oh Ted. I don’t know what to say, I’m just crying again. But I guess this is how it must go, Ted, I’ve always lived with the lessons that you’re parting to us, your story is a living legend, a story that one must take seriously, but one thing’s for sure you made me learn how to never ever ever give up in life, NEVER. And your story is a great addition to my life, and thank you, just thank you.
One last, thank you How I Met Your Mother for every single thing. Maybe you just became a part of my life for only 6 years, but one thing’s for sure, this story, this ending will never ever end, the lessons that I got will always remain forever. I will always miss the fun times, the sad ones, and the story of never giving up. Indeed, a last forever. Thank you so much How I Met Your Mother.
Love,
A weird fan.
P.S.: I WILL ALWAYS MISS THE SHOW’S INTRODUCTION.

March 5, 2014: Wicked Day!
Tumblr media
Indeed, a One Short Day in the Emerald City! It's like I want to go back to that time, and repeat the show once more. Wicked is actually one of the best shows I've watched in my life. And now, I want to congratulate the cast and the people who made Wicked in Manila possible once more.
The I met them part:
Tumblr media
The collage went weird, but whatever, these Aussie people were(and still are) soooooo lovely! It's just so nice to almost meet everyone from the lead actors and actresses up to the lovely ensembles. I'm hoping to see them again real soon!
March 16: Macklemore & Ryan Lewis Live In Manila / The concert I attended out of nowhere.
Tumblr media
We won tickets, and this happened, and this was my first time to attend to a rap concert, and IT WAS FREAKIN AWESOME. I actually want to tell a lot of things about this concert, but it will take me years to finish.
March 25: Divergent

Well, I have to include it anyway. But man, I know some Divergent fans won't agree with me, but the movie alone was amazing! I cried 3 times, and it's so cool that Divergent was so connected with Allegiant that I have to cry. Kbye I'm weird, I know. ALSO ALSO Theo's hot.
March 27-28: The 1975 Live In Manila
Tumblr media
I'll make a separate blog entry for this once I get the other meet and greet photo, because yes I met them not just once but twice. OH LOVELY LADS.
I don't know how to thank God and my parents(haha feeling famous line) for all the blessings I've received this month. Once more, oh lovely.

Mitch Albom 2014: The Book Signing Event
BEFORE THE EVENT: I arrived in Glorietta at exactly 7:30 AM, and at first I thought I'll be like one of the first ones there, but yeah, I was wrong because when I arrived, I'm the 79th person to be there already.
Tumblr media
Me and my dad waited for more than 2 and a half hours, and then a lot of things happened (my class happened) before the event, and then by 1:30 or 1PM me and my friend, Tricia, arrived once more in Glorietta, and goodness the line for the registration became longer than ever! Setting that aside, of course when we arrived at the Activity Area we didn't get a chance to get a seat, but the good part there was that we're this close to the stage.
Tumblr media
THE TALK: Then, after long hours of waiting, Mitch finally arrived!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
He was upstairs at first, taking some photos of the crowd, and I tell you I really felt that he's like a rockstar! Almost everyone's screaming his name, and the fans were just simply screaming during that time.
And when he went up to the stage, I tell you he's real, he's real! The man is real!
Tumblr media
And then when he talked, goodness the man is definitely real!
Tumblr media
This time he's talking about Detroit Pistons (haha), life, and Morrie. When he started talking about Morrie, everyone really clapped their hands, while I was there taking photos and I'm actually about to cry during that time. He also said that Morrie would be so happy seeing us, while keeping his words alive.
Mitch also talked about The Five People You Meet In Heaven, slash the book that made me read more books that was written by him (yeah I read that first before Tuesdays with Morrie). That's why when he's talking about that, goosebumps were all over me, and again, I'm about to cry once more, espcially the part on where he's talking about Tala. Man, every time I reread that book, that part never failed to make me cry like a little girl.
Tumblr media
Taking a break from some serious parts he told us something about their band named The Rock Bottom Remainders, where he's with some other authors like Stephen King. Then, he said that their band is actually not a band because they're really bad, well I doubt that, it actually made me really want to see them play live! He even said that their band's like Metallica not playing some songs, but them writing a book. And while he told us about that everyone's chanting "Sample, sample!" for Mitch to sing a song for us. Then he got no choice and sang an Elvis song, yes, he totally didn't expect that he will actually sing! But Mitch, you're one of the greatest people who did the Elvis impersonation, haha. *I'll try to post the video somewhere*
After that he shared some things about For One More Day, and I'm so glad that he talked about that, because that's one of my favorite books that was written by him. I can somehow feel some tears on my face that time, but I ignored it and just listened to him. He even told us that the part there when Posey went inside to the library to get the book for Chick really happened in real life with him and his mother. The book is indeed a personal one for him, not just because it was inspired by his relationship with his mother, but it was also the last book (that he wrote) that her mother read before her stroke.
He also talked about the gist of The First Phone Call From Heaven, and he also told us that he will be back here (for the film's premiere) if the film adaptation of the book (that's still under production) will be successful. Besides him coming back here he shared some things about Tacloban, and him sharing his part by donating 40 boats and 10 libraries (together with some authors). Oh lovely, the libraries in Tacloban will become so colorful with words by those authors like, John Green, Stephen Chbosky, Stephen King, Sophie Kinsella, etc. And by that moment I realized that Mitch is indeed a gift from Above!
"Giving is living." was the last part of his talk, he told us that that's the greatest lesson that he got from Morrie, and yes, I totally agree with him, because the world will always be a better place if we will know how to give, help, and share our part and blessings to everyone.
Tumblr media
After the talk, he went near to the crowd, though sad that I wasn't on the middle part of the stage to be a part of the group photo with Mitch, anyhow look how cute they all are.
Tumblr media
BOOK SIGNING SESSION: Tricia and I were the 141st and 142nd people for the book signing. Actually, our turn happened so fast because we actually waited for like 30 minutes only for the book signing session. And again, if you're my friend, or if you have read some of my *fangirling* blog entries you know that I'm actually a different person while I fangirl. So I'll just share our conversation for this.
But before that I tell you my heart's really pounding, and my hands were shaking again.
THE CONVERSATION:
Mitch: Hello!
Me: Oh hi, I painted something for you.
*while shaking and all that, I can't take out my painting from the paper bag so he was the one who took the painting out, haha shame on me.
Mitch: Ohhh, this is so nice of you, thank you so much.
*then we hugged*
Even though we only got a minute conversation, I tell you my mind already went to somewhere, and again I almost cried once more. Oh my. By the way, here's a photo of us.
Tumblr media
And here's my signed copy of The First Phone Call From Heaven with the Sharpie marker that I got.
Tumblr media
Finally, I want to say this again and again. Mitch Albom, you are indeed one of the greatest people I've met, and I felt so lucky when I met you. You never failed to inspire me really, and I will always be one of the happiest people to know your words and to finally meet you. See you soon Mitch, and thank you for everything as in every single thing.
Thank you to National Bookstore too for making this event possible. Again, see you soon and God bless you always Mitch Albom!

Phoenix Live In Manila: Our Own Meet & Greet
Tumblr media
and then yes! Christian appeared, thanks to Del for getting his attention to go to us haha. *more stories about Christian in a while*
And then of course we still stayed up to the point that the bouncers let us out already *evil laugh*, and then for the next part of this adventure I want to thank Karpos Multimedia for allowing us and actually gave us the privilege to meet the band. They told us to wait at the artists' exit, so we did, and this happened.
Tumblr media
OH MY. Let me fangirl for a bit. So I saw Christian once more because he's the first one to go out, and we said hi to him and, then when I went to the other side of the garage, Deck was there, and I literally ran to him, and he's laughing, actually almost everyone's laughing haha. Yes yes yes, look at Deck, this photo was taken right after our weird conversation haha. This was our conversation, plus imagine Deck's French accent.
Me: Deck you are my crush since the 6th grade!!! Deck: *gets my instax photo and signs it* How old were you during your 6th grade? Me: 12 I guess? It's 2008. Deck: Oh my god *while laughing* I'm nearly your grandfather now. *laughs again* I'm just kidding. *pats my back* Me: Can I hug you? Deck: *ARMS WIDE OPEN*
After that I heard that they wanted Thomas to enter the car already so I really went to him right away and asked for a photo, he's so nice too!
Tumblr media
Yeah, my eyes were in tears of joy during that time.
Then finally with Branco! Oh, he's a really cool guy!
Tumblr media
Then here's the last part of the story, since Thomas has been inside already and he's actually the only one who didn't sign on one of my Instax photos, it's because he's forced to enter the car right away(haha). So Christian saw me, and this is what happened...
Me: *holding the photo* Can I still ask for Thomas to sign for this?
Christian: Yes of course, don't worry, I'll take care of this. *with his French accent*
*Then moments later
Christian: Here you go, I'll see you soon! *with smiles on his face*
Here are the signed photographs!
Tumblr media
YAY. So I don't know what to say again. OH MY. AHHHH. LOVELY PEOPLE ARE LOVELY. Now, I just want to say thank you forever and ever and ever and ever Phoenix for giving us a chance to meet you guys. To the Phoenix management, thank you so much too! Finally to Karpos Multimedia, most especially to Stephanie Uy, thank you so much!!!! God bless you all, and 'til the next concert/Phoenix show!

Phoenix Live In Manila: The Show
OH MY GOODNESS. WHAT I EXPERIENCED LAST NIGHT WAS BEYOND HAPPINESS(I'VE WAITED YEARS(AS IN YEARS) FOR THIS TO HAPPEN), OH LOVELY.
For now I have to calm down, and share what happened. So first I met with my friends, and met a lot of new friends, that I begged to stay with me (this will be for my next blog entry), AND LOOK WHAT HAPPENED TO US YAY. Yes, we waited for like 2 hours, and you know we're so sneaky that's why before the show started we already found our spot to the barricades, and this was our view...
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
And this wa something cool, when they started singing everyone sang too, and for the Lisztomania part, Thomas stopped for a second while he was (WHILE HE WAS) singing, and said "Oh my God" and did the conductor pose, and he told us that the Manila crowd was the best because of our liveliness and all that. Well, that's just the effect of the "waiting for years thing".
Right now I'll just let the photos talk, because up until now I still can't explain what I felt during the whole show.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This was during the Sunskrupt! part, and this is actually one of my favorite parts of the show, and I've been waiting for them to play this too since I really love this mashup! It's so chill and during that time Thomas was just lying down on the stage, plus the AVP's amazing!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Oh 1901.
Tumblr media
Then they went out again, but with Christian and Thomas only, and man, it's like they're all serenading us, lovely voice, and that intimate moment, and I appreciated Countdown more than ever.
Tumblr media
AND THE MOST SHOCKING PART WAS THEY PLAYED FUNKY SQUAREDANCE.
Now here's the goodbye/the Entertainment reprise part/the Thomas Mars crowdsurfing event.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
This is indeed the best concert I've been to! Not just because of the band itself, but also for the energy that they brought to Manila! Phoenix, what happened was really one of the bests, that's why I wanted to say thank you for letting us experience this, and to Karpos Multimedia, congratulations guys, this event was a success!

Capital Cities Live In Manila
AHHHHHHHHHH let me scream again AHHHHHHHHHHH. CAPITAL CITIES MADE ALL THE AYALA MALLS/THE WHOLE MANILA AN INSTANT DISCO PLACE. Oh goodness I really can't explain my happiness with my first concert of 2014, and I am so glad that for the 4th year of this tradition of mine I spent it with them. Also I am so glad that I am with my GREAT FRIENDS who sang and danced with me during the whole concert, I am also so glad that all of my friends during the concert know all the songs (yeah we're the noisiest people there, and forgive me for saying "glad" a lot)!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
They opened the event with Kangaroo Court.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Yes, that's their own shuffle/the Capital Cities shuffle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
THE FARRAH FAWCETT HAIR PART!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Staying Alive/the part where the parents became alive.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Clothes were flying during Safe and Sound!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Now here's the album signing part + hey to my concert buddies!
Tumblr media
Since yes, I didn't get a chance to have a photo with the whole group these photos are my selfies with Spencer and Sebu, sad to say I don't have one with Ryan. Anyhow back story why me and Sebu did that, because a friend of mine told me to be hyper, so I asked Sebu to do the "gangster pose", and I tell you I really felt that he's so confuse while we're doing that!
Tumblr media
BEST CONCERT BUDDIES EVER. Thank you so much guys!
Finally I ant to say THANK YOU SO MUCH TO CAPITAL CITIES FOR BEING AWESOMAZING, and thank you to MMI for bring Capital Cities, cheers to more great concerts soon!

Events/Happenings of My 2013
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
10. Dia Frampton Live In Manila (January) & Herakut Art Tour (August)- Well yeah Dia Frampton's my first concert of the year! While the Herakut Art Tour is one of the most unique events that I attended last year.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
9. Paola's Debut (June) & Home Stories (December)- YES! Instead of being a photographer for a debut I became an event organizer. All thanks to my friend Paola for giving me a chance to be your event organizer. Then for the Home Stories, it is a dance show which is really good, and this is also our first marketing project as an Arts Management class.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
  8. Jean & Jam's surprise parties (August)- I just think it's memorable. Yay.
Tumblr media
7. Ransom Riggs Book Signing Event (February)- This is the first book signing event that I attended to ever. Also this is a memorable one because Ransom is one of the coolest guys ever!
Tumblr media
6. Alumni Symposium Speaker (February)- Okay yes, for me being a part of something like this is so cool even though it's just for my High School.
Tumblr media
5. Benildean Yearbook Office (June)- The BYO will always be one of the greatest parts of my college life. I'm so thankful to be a part of this office, and more than anything I found a great community which now became my family.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
4. My Photography life flourished (February, April, May, December)- (nuffsaid haha) Thanks to all the people involved!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
3. THE WHOLE WANDERLAND EXPERIENCE (May)- I won't fangirl anymore, because I still can't believe that happened, but for more fangirling features check this entry out: http://eenainwonderland.tumblr.com/post/51294521972/wanderland-2013-part-ii
Tumblr media
2. Her Own Wonderwanderland (November)- Everything's still so fresh from this event, I can say that maybe a part of me still doesn't want to move on from this. However the only thing I can say about this event is that when you have a dream, don't let it go easily, hold on to it until you get it, but never ever use it for your own good only. Always remember that you must always share the greatness of your life with others.
Tumblr media
1. Our Lola Ima (December)- For years now every new year or every Christmas, I'm always asking myself what happens or what will happen or what some people are feeling when someone close to them passes away during those happy events, and I guess I now got the answer to my great perhaps. Up until now I still can't formulate or say the right words for this happening, all I can remember is I miss my Lola, but if there's one lesson I can always bring with me that New Year's Eve, it's to value family and simplicity. Yes, it's really hard to welcome a new year when you know that during that New Year's Eve someone passed away, but always remember that sometimes silence and prayers are the best things to welcome a new year, a new life, and a new adventure that's now ahead of you. Learn to let go, and learn to value life. You'll always be in our hearts Lola Ima, and I will always miss you forever and ever, thank you for all the fun times, and thank you for sharing us your life up until the end of 2013. I love you.
God bless your 2014, and to everyone who became a part of my 2013 THANK YOU SO MUCH!
