Happy 1st Spooky STS! How do your character(s) handle scary? Can be scary movies, scary books, scary pranks, scary real world stuff, whatever floats your boat.

Neon Glow Cast:

Ari: Is generally quite an anxious person, so I think suspense would just rile him up, and he'd jump at any jumpscares. That being said, he holds himself fairly well through the things that scare him when it's real world things. He's very protective, and that tends to win out over his fears.

April: Fine with classical horror, fascinated by gore, but would not handle something with real-world implications like mental health problems, or abuse, very well. These things actually scare him, and on a personal level; conversations around abuse are one of the few times we can see April actively freeze in response to something.

Ana: She'd be a little squeamish, but I don't see her being particularly scared by them. I think Ana has a good handle on her emotions, and is more likely to be angry by something than she is scared of it. It's probably how she's got so far in life.

Cardinal Sins Cast:

Aspen: Aspen loves being scared. Its only real fear is its friends' vulnerabilities. It knows that humans, whether fully human or not, are much more fragile than the divine intervention that allows it to have fun with its pain. Emotionally, too. It could probably sit through saw without flinching, but become quickly very worried if it upsets Dea.

Dea: Very jumpy as a person. She's cautious, nervous, and does not find horror fun at all. She's watching any horror film through his fingers, if at all.

Caspian: Acts like he's fine but is constantly excusing himself for a never-ending amount of tasks.

Tulip: Is probably the inspiration behind the horror film in the first place.

Mallory: For someone stuck in a horror novel, Mallory is definitely the sort of person who hid from trick or treaters when he was a kid.

Marius: Not a fan of horror media and screams when he sees a spider.

Kieran: Largely indifferant, his life is scary enough.

hey pal, here's a fun question for you. if you found out that your body was actually someone else's until about a week ago and all your memories were fake, what would you do?

blueprints seem fun. i used to draw sometimes, i know they're not the same thing but they're putting things on paper so that kinda counts.

It’s more mechanical in nature. Not completely flesh and bone.

A desperate person’s attempts to replace a lost daughter. Memories created by the delusions of a grieving parent. They aren’t false. But they aren’t real either.

When you’re as smart as the High-Tower family, Superbia can grab an iron hold on you. It makes it hard for you to realize that you’re wrong. Even in their end, they wouldn’t admit that trying to bring back something that’s long gone is wrong. What they made wasn’t their daughter. Those memories don’t belong to them. That woman, she isn’t really my sister.

But she doesn’t know that. In her mind, we are sisters. In her mind, I am her older sister, Louise High-Tower. She thinks we grew up together, saw the Neonized lights together, that we built PROJECT BUNNY together. In her mind, she is Bianca High-Tower.

It’s not fair of me to try and deprive her of the only living “family” she has left, even if she isn’t really Bianca. She’s desperate for that attention, even if Superbia keeps her from admitting it. Superbia keeps her from admitting a lot of things, honestly.

That body has always been hers. Most of those memories has always been hers. But her name. Her name is not hers. Her early childhood is not hers. Oh, and that fish plushie she wears around her shoulder isn’t hers either. They belonged to Bianca. It’s the only thing my parents had left of Bianca.

Oh, and about the blueprints. Every blueprint starts out as a drawing. It’s just a more technical version of a drawing. With math and shit involved.

👻 Oh yeah, I'm still figuring out how to write this scene in Cardinal Sins where Fairweather meets Roman for the first time and recognises him as a siren; see she's a lovely enough person, but she's also very up and down on her morals and sees the potential difficulty on taking aboard a siren who doesn't at all know he's a siren, especially when factoring in her less than ideal backstory.

💗Yeah, in Neon Glow, I'm excited for when Ari loses his absolute shit! It's exciting, he's so subdued and emotionally neglectful of himself I really look forward to that egg cracking!
