He never thought this would happen. Fighting on the side of those shitty Shinigami, but here he was. Grimmjow almost had to laugh.

How desperate and weak these idiots must be to have to rely on their mortal enemy to save them. With their heads held so high, they must not have been able to see the shit storm coming, which made it all the sweeter when they reached out to his kind. The glee in his heart at their begging almost as exhilarating as Grimmjow’s thrill of killing these pathetic Quincy.

His blade cut down another one, their blood spraying over him in a maddening sort of mist, as he turned to look at [Y/N]. A part of him hoping they had been watching and was proud of him. Proud of how strong he had become. Proud of how even their enemies recognized his strength now. Proud to be his.

“Wow Nell-sama! That’s incredible!” [Y/N] cheered with a tiny little clap at the diminutive Arrancar’s shadow puppets. “It looks just like Gillian. You’re right!”

“What the hell?!” Grimmjow growled at [Y/N] and Nell, both stopping to look at him in confusion. “I’m out here fighting for my life, and you’re making shadow puppets!”

“But…Nell-sama wanted to show me how much she’s improved….”

Grimmjow growled again and stormed off across the battlefield. “Wait Grimmjow! Are you really upset?”

“I did want to fight them but not completely alone.” He wanted to fight by [Y/N]’s side. Their bond….their body…it wasn’t fair that their attention was split between him and others. “I thought you would at least try to help me and—put that little moron down!!”

Nell started to cry in [Y/N]’s arm. Calling him a bully. “Don’t yell at her Grimmjow. She’s just a little girl.”

“She’s old then you!” He reminded her.

Grimmjow growled again and stalked off. Finding a more remote portion of the battlefield to sulk amongst the wasteland. “You’re really mad, hn?” He looked up at [Y/N] standing their beside him. Alone. They could always seem to find him. “You were having so much fun though.”

“How would you know.” He muttered. “You were just playing with Nelliel Tu.”

“I was watching you know.” They sit beside him on the rumble. Grimmjow doesn’t try to stop them. “You looked so happy. Bloody and brilliant. Those stupid humans, Quincy though they may be, are no match for you, my heart.” Grimmjow shrugged his shoulder away when they leaned into him but did not move away. He wanted to touch them back, but he was still annoyed. “I thought you were having fun, so I didn’t want to interrupt.”

“It would have been more fun with you.” He muttered. Annoyingly glancing at them out of the corner of his eye. “It’s no fun to play on my own anymore.”

[Y/N] smiled at him, then took his hand. They leaned in like they were coming in for a kiss, but instead licked the blood from his cheek. “It’s no fun without you either.” They confess. Eyes bright. Grimmjow felt his heart pounding.

[Y/N] stood and offered him their hand. “Nell is entertained on her own now. What do you say we go find some more people to kill, together.”

Grimmjow grinned wildly and leapt to his feet. Already excited. “Those fools don’t stand a chance.” He preened, and raced off to a new battlefield with his love to dance their dance of death upon some new soon to be corpses.

I caught up with the bllk manga and it is a 5 course meal with the way it is serving rn.

Rin's moment came and it is mind blowingly perfect. I could’nt ask for more and there are so many delicious details it's terrific.

The title of this chapter is very interesting to me for reasons. Because Rin as a character is shown to be connected with death and suicide. Infact his 1st character defining line is " Soccer is a battle to the death". Later we find the seed of this thinking in little Rin. He's a weirdo who flings himself at pigeons at toy blocks and a completely opposite mentality to the other kids. The ultimate monster who fights someone stronger, gives his all, and then dies is incredibly cool to him. He hopes to be someone like him in the future . So is it really coincidence if the title of his chapter has a clever wordplay with a famous author who was also suicidal and who wrote a book called " No longer human"?

Now Dazai Osamu was an remarkable author and coincidentally (those who watched Bsd will know) he strived to do double suicides with the women he was in love with. So is it really coincidence that the words that comes out of Isagi’s mouth are " I'll die with you!"? Are you all seeing the romantic connotations here guys?👀

Moving on, just the general remarkable-ness of these recent chapters is blowing my mind.

To see Isagi, the master adapter, arguably the best person in Blue lock who can analyze others to perfection floundering at the anomaly that is Itoshi Rin is so great. This is the first and only time Isagi has been unable to decipher the thought process of another person to this extent. It's gonna make the time when he does get through Rin so much more satisfying. 💚

And its too sad that Rin is so chained in by his feelings that he can't kick a goal his teammates would kill to have because of his own mind( bro needs a therapist fr). It's so baffling to others watching from the outside, but to Rin, it makes perfect sense. It's the way he's almost begging for someone to come, someone to break in and-

The image of Isagi literally swiping away Sae’s phantom, almost reassuring him that he's here, he's real is too beautiful. When Rin is about to lose everything, Isagi is the one who is there. I'm pretty sure Loki would've benched Rin if he threw away a goal again, so Isagi is the reason Rin is still playing in this match. Just the visual framing in this panel is too good.

Do I need to say more?

The way Isagi's eyes look so bright as if he's giving hope to Rin. Rin's EXPRESSION 😭(All we need are some flower petals)

Tell me this isn't poetic beauty, come in my face and tell me this isn't the epitome of romance.

Regardless if it is romantic or platonic, I still adore the way they're written into each other’s arcs. I wasn't the one to notice this, but if Isagi had collided into Rin and Rin had not scored, Isagi would've been red-carded instead of being let off with a yellow card. ( His head was definitely not all there in this moment)Isagi Yoichi, thank your stars your lover is a genius , bro would've been cooked otherwise.

And at the end,

We see the old Rin again, finally enjoying the game he worked his entire life for. (Off topic, but he looks so cute and gorgeous here) and the catalyst for that is none other than our protagonist.

Isagi is the light that brings hope to Rin and Rin is the centre, the ideal for Isagi’s growth. They saved each other.

All of NEL hasn't been exactly amazing but Kaneshiro's writing peaked in these chapters. There is so much said in every panel, so much emotion expressed in each drawing, It's incredible.

I agree with your take on “I want my bride back”, a very logical explanation. But then you put on shippers’ gogles and write analysis on “sansa looked radiant” or “it would be so sweet” through romantic perspective that’s not there in the narrative. why is it ok to analyze something from a platonic angle and then analyse a similar thing (much more toned down in its nature) from a romantic angle? don’t you see how faulty it is?

You know, you could just go "I disagree! Good for me!" and move on?

The focus on "radiant" is usually joking in nature, though the parallel to Jaime describing Cersei that way is amusing. It exists not as "proof" but as a sweet augmentation to the sum of hints that form the jonsa hypothesis.

And "it would be so sweet to see him once again but of course that could never be" does kind of beg the reader to suspect it to be subverted. So sweet. But again, this does not exist alone. It exists in alongside the parallels in their "romantic" (actually abusive) plotlines, their matching visions of marriage and children, their exclusive "blood of Winterfell" lines and thematic connection to ownership and rebuilding of the castle, their king and queenship foreshadowing, their incest allusions, their romantic natures, their sole status as Starks of the age and inclination to continue the Stark line, their competing claims that recall another Sansa and Jon(nel) Stark, romantic dragon imagery in Sansa's chapters, parallels between Jon and Sansa's suitors, the Ashford tourney parallels, Jon's romantic appreciation for Sansa's qualities... The Jonsa hypothesis isn't exactly leaning on two lines of text. There's a lot of evidence.

None of that needs to convince you, but the "hypocrisy!" accusations are at this point frankly boring.

Wow. Half of the fandom is going crazy being a Nagi apologist even with his mediocre performance after his match against BM and still pinning the blame on Reo for his delayed evolution.

Look I like Nagi as a character and I'm rooting for him to overcome the obstacle that he is facing as a player in this arc, but as a reader objectivity is a must and blaming other characters for their mishaps in the program is not a part of it. REO WAS IN THE MIDDLE OF GETTING INDEPENDENT WHEN NAGI WENT TO HIM AND ASK FOR HIS HELP TO BEAT ISAGI. HE DID NOT COME TO HIM AND BEG ON HIS KNEES TO BE HIS PARTNER AGAIN. Reo was conflicted at first but in the end accepted him easily back into his life because he was his Achilles' heel and this is part of his character. He's smart in everything else except when it comes to Nagi as what the author had said in the past. That's basically it.

Reo was providing him assistance and passes throughout the NEL arc but it wasn't his fault that Nagi lost his motivation after beating Isagi. HIS DELAYED EVOLUTION IS CAUSED BY HIMSELF AND NOT ANYBODY ELSE. And that's the part of his ongoing character development in NEL arc. He needed to realize that intrinsic motivation to keep going in the program.

But half of the fandom doesn't realize this because the glazing is real.

I'm curious now - why / what do you like about Inoue and Renji ?

Well...

I liked Ori from the start. She was cute, bubbly, & pretty with a likable personality & potential to be a cool character, what with her powers & dreams.

I started shipping her with Ishida in the SS arc, as their interactions were cute. They actually had a good bond, he protected her & she ended up trying to protect him in her own way in the Fullbring arc & was concerned for him in TYBW.

Then in the HM arc, I also started shipping her with Ulquiorra, whom she had amazing chemistry with. Unlike everyone else who mostly babied her (& was mostly indifferent like Ichigo 💀), he challenged her, found her fascinating & believed her to be a strong woman. She finally showed some of her mental strength & further potential to do something important to the overall story; she kept saying she wanted to become stronger, right? I was hoping this would finally be it, that we would finally see her become the character she could be (when she had saved Tatsuki, i was like, "Ok, we're getting somewhere. Hope we see more of this." I was waiting for it...)

However, that turned out to not be so. 😮‍💨 It was also in the HM arc where I started to truly find her exasperating as well. This is the arc that should've solidified that IH do NOT work together. Some of her worst moments happened here & the prelude to it. Her rather cringey confession to, & attempted kiss on an unconscious Ichigo, choosing to say goodbye to him (whom she barely knew) instead of her best friend Tatsuki, her lack of backbone against Loly & Menoly & then healing them to top it off (absolute insanity, I could not believe her. Who the hell cares what Grimmjow did to them? Have some respect for yourself, girl!), fearing Ichigo while he fought Grimmjow for Rukia & having little Nel have to push her to snap out of it... and then her worst moment: her breakdown at the dome when she begged an unconscious Ichigo to save her.

My God, this was the first time I found her unbelievably annoying & couldn't believe her. This should've been the moment as the secondary heroine of the series, where she should've stood up in the face of danger. A moment where any female character worth her salt would've shown her resilience. Rukia, even when powerless, had shown us this. Ichigo's sisters showed us as well in the first chapter. (Ppl sure love to compare Ori to Hinata from Naruto, but one of their MAIN differences is that my girl Hinata did what NO ONE ELSE did—not even the main heroine—& threw herself in the face of danger to help Naruto against Pain, despite how much stronger her foe was, confessed to a conscious Naruto, & her sacrifice led Naruto to gain 6 Fox Tails to defeat Pain—and mind u, Naruto subconsciously led the fight away from her 👀. The first person he thought of when he regained consciousness was her & he cried in relief that he didn't harm her nor others. What she did meant a lot to him).

But alas... Ori disappointed me greatly here. I insist, what happened at the dome should've solidified for everyone that IH do NOT work together. Ichigo's Hollow was protecting Ichigo, not anyone else (face-planted Ori & stabbed Ishida who was trying to protect her. He would've killed them had it not been for Ulquiorra). It wasn't an IH moment; anyone who thinks that severely lacks reading comprehension. Ichigo felt sickened by what he did, not feeling like a victor at all (and it wasn't until he talked to Rukia again a bit later that he felt a bit better).

(Imagine if Ori had stood up against Ulquiorra, arms spread out to protect Ichigo, & he stopped before her in shock & might've told her to move but she resisted, then he questioned her & they started talking & she pleaded for him to stop this & Ulquiorra became more curious &— Like, would he have genuinely hurt her, tho? He ended up protecting her from Vasto Lorde Ichigo, whom she feared, while she showed NO fear of Ulquiorra in their farewell scene... )

Honestly, Ori's best moments in this arc, her only good moments, were with Ulquiorra. He should've lived & I stand by it. While I like IshiHime & wish they had ended up together, had Ulquiorra returned, I would've given a solemn salute to Ishida & eagerly boarded the UlquiHime train. Unlike with IshiHime, I actually engage with UH fan content so... 🙃

Unfortunately, Ori only got worse from here. Her ongoing silly crush on Ichigo was even more exasperating; I was hoping she'd have finally gotten over him after the dome (heck, I'd been hoping she'd get over him since the SS arc). She did not do anything amazing in the Fullbring arc, only regressed, & same in TYBW. Kub0 just didn't seem to care to develop her, despite her potential with her powers & early personality. She will forever be one of the characters with the most wasted potential to me.

Ori was just too pitiful around Ichigo. She was not at her best around him. And Ichigo was certainly not at his best around her. Because of that horrendous ending that only solidified Ori's lack of character development & bad writing, I'm not interested in engaging with her solo content. Only UH & sometimes IshH content 🤷‍♀️. I understand the criticisms towards her character & agree with several, tho some ppl do take it a little too far imo. I also have a post here where I similarly rant about her character a bit. There is also an amazing analysis & theory of her role in the story here & my added opinion.

About Renji (sorry I ranted about Ori, lol), I didn't like him at first, as he was introduced as an unlikable villain who was trying to obstruct Ichigo from saving Rukia. He changed for the better after he got humbled by Ichigo & became a good friend & ally (& also showed support for IR 🫢). So, I like him because of that. I'm not a fan of him & stuff, tho. I dislike RR, tho not as much as IH; it's mostly just "meh" to me.

So yeah, sorry for the long rant. Hope this answers your question!

From what I’ve heard about episode Nagi ( the film) it had better animation than the series but it still wasn’t really movie level

The U20 arc is very special to a lot of bllk fans . It’s pretty high up there on being the fandom’s favorite arc

There’s so many iconic moments during it . And i thought they can be Brought to justice

Good things is that I highly doubt that this season will have 24 episodes

Well the poor pookie wookie has A LOT of lore that's gonna be hitting within just a few chapters! Like ooouuuggghhh I'm so excited to finally get to that arc since it's been two years of me sitting on it.

As for stuff I can talk about eeeerrrrrmmmm…I mention her childhood in bits and pieces but she really was sort of a wild child. Like her personality was still pretty serious but that little ginger 100% was skittering around the woods like a feral kid. How she wasn’t actually consumed by a gator or panther, I have no clue. Probably sheer luck and the power of Nelly winning out against whatever predator is stalking her somehow (hint hint hint).

Her taste for shitty romance stories came from her mom. Teenage Nel used to stay up all night reading novels that her mother had and eventually she found one of those. The rest was history. She will not admit that though since she doesn't want to think about her momma reading that wild stuff.

Rin is rather subtle about it, but it's very noticeable how happy he is when he sees it's one of those days when you're there to assist the PxG team. He respects you and the work you do so much and always makes sure to avoid putting more work on you. Instead, he puts that work on Claire and Mao because he thinks they're annoying. In the entirety of Blue Lock, you're the only one who ever got a hug from him. A kiss on the cheek as well, but that's your secret.

Shidou is INCREDIBLY OBVIOUS with his simping. Pick up lines and flirting all the time. But even though he's. Uhm. He's Shidou. He never says anything sexual towards you. He's so careful and soft towards you, he avoids making you uncomfortable. To everyone else, it seems so out of character for him - and yeah, it is out of character for him to suddenly be so soft. But he appreciates the work you do so much, he can't help himself but treat you special.

Now, about Nanase? He's literally the sweetest. Always greets you so politely and asks how you're feeling. If he needs your help with something, he always makes sure you don't have much work to do that day because he doesn't want you to work so much harder than you already do. He constantly compliments you for everything you do and thanks you over and over and over, even if you did a small thing like refilling his water bottle.

Of course, Karasu, Zantetsu and Tokimitsu appreciate your work a lot as well! But you won Rin's, Shidou's and Nanase's hearts a lot more. Plus, you can't have everyone for yourself. After all, there's also Claire and Mao.

About Karasu and Claire. How did that even start? It actually started with Claire simping for him, but in secret. You told Karasu about it and the feelings became mutual. Now he's constantly flirting with her and nobody knows if they're dating or still only teasing each other. Well, nobody knows except for you. You've caught them making out at night in the hallway once, but promise to not tell anyone.

Zantetsu and Mao became best friends extremely quickly and they're almost inseparable. There's definitely more than a friendship between them, but it's not romantic or anything like that. Mao keeps calling him her platonic boyfriend, though. Zantetsu doesn't properly understand what that means, but he acts as if he does. They love each other very much - just in a strong platonic way.

Tokimitsu is always a bit intimidated by his teammates and was very nervous around the assistants at first. He's always so afraid to ask you or the others for help, even if it's for minor things. But Mao pays a lot of attention to him and always notices when he needs some assistance. Definitely some platonic simping going on between them.

i sent a similar ask to girldante cause this is definitely something very important that needs to be addressed, but i found out only today that guido died in 1300 (and also that dante himself was responsible for his exile?? why isn't this common knowledge help) and so this made me think really hard about how the choice of 1300 isn't casual at all like, nel mezzo del cammin di nostra vita un par de bale it's just a whole ruse to avoid having to "talk" (at least in the poetic sense) to guido or face his own emotions, cause what a fucking heavy reunion that would have been. which only begs the question of what cantica would he have put him IF.......... also im sure you and the rest of the cavalghieri squad examined the matter quite deeply but i never did guido in school and only now have i actually started looking into him mostly out of curiosity so there's that

Oh there arw many thoughts to be thought here.

So when Dante started writing the Commedia (yes we don't know the precise period in which he started writing it etc etc, not the point here), Guido had already died, years ago, but the Commedia itself is set around march/april 1300, so Guido, who died at the end of august, was still technically alive. This makes it impossible for Dante to put him amongst the dead (although he did that with popes, so not fully impossible), but it doesn't mean he can ignore him.

I think my blog already talks extensively of the haunting presence of Guido in Dante's works, especially the Commedia lmao help but essentially we can sum it up this way: Dante explicitly talks about him in the Commedia twice, in Inferno X and Purgatorio XI, and only briefly; for the rest he's apparently set on ignoring him BUT if we look even just slightly more closely it becomes blatant that there's a constant confrontation with what Guido stated in his poems (for example Inferno V, to name the most obvious one), and possibly their friendship through the character of Virgil (the disappearence of Virgil in Purgatorio, but also the episode of violence with the wrathfuls?). So it would seem Guido was a constant thought in the background of Dante's mind, but at the same time he desperately wanted to take his distance from him. The result is that Guido's name is treated like something that can only be spoken in hushed tones.

It seems reasonable to think that setting the Commedia right before Guido's death falls into this picture (of course it's not the only reason why he chose that date, though). Dante elaborates a judgement of everyone, going from political figures to friends, to family, people who are still alive, etc... Guido had been a friend, his first friend (in the sense of importance), and was "still alive". But Dante refuses to place him somewhere. The closest he gets to doing so is in Inferno X where he speaks to his father and when Cavalcante asks where his son is ("why isn't he with you?") Dante is hesitant to answer and then says that Guido was not allowed to come with because "maybe" he "disdained" someone. Critics have absolutely no idea who this someone is. But this "maybe" and the elusiveness of the whole statement are key: Dante is unsure. He doesn't pronounce himself on Guido's fate. We can presume that he's alluding to Guido's lack of faith, so technically we can think that if Guido got damned, he would've ended up amongst the heretics, and interpret Cavalcante's damnation as mirror and anticipation of the son's. But at the same time his presence is so heavy in all the rest of the Commedia that one can argue anything about Dante's judgement of him. It wouldn't be difficult to argue that he'd end up amongst the lustfuls, or the wrathfuls, or in Purgatory, etc... Briefly put, we can't pronounce ourselves with certainty on this matter, but we have a lot of material to make hypotheses with the knowledge that we can't confirm any of them.

Finally, yes the cavalghieri squad has poured its minds over this collective brainrot, but I'm having difficulty finding the relative posts... I will try to sort this out, sorry!

Reio's Heart

A big reveal in Bleach was that Gerard Valkyrie was the Soul King's heart. And in Can't Fear Your Own World it was clarified that the heart was transplanted in him. Which begs the question of who it originally belong to.

I think the Soul King's heart was obtain by Haschwalth and is the key to the person's identity. I think it would have been him since it seems likely that he took over leadership while Yhwach was sealed. He is entrusted with the Mask of the Ruler while Yhwach slept.

I think the heart came from a member of the Werewolf Clan. Their Humanization Technique involves removing their heart. Gerard Valkyrie is inspired by Viking mythology and I think the Werewolf Clan is too. There are Berserkers called Ulfheðnar or wolf warriors who are believed to have inspired the legend of the werewolf.

Haschwalth power The Balance is associated with the scale. I think there is connection to the Weighing of the Heart.

Another allusion to the Weighing of the Heart is the Werewolf Clan Elder eating Sajin's heart for his sins.

I think heart originally belonged Haschwalth's unnamed adjutant. I think the person is female since Gerard's last name Valkyrie is a mythical woman.

I think she gave the Werewolf Clan Elder his prominent scars to discover the secret of the Humanization Technique and left the clan.

I think similar with Nel Haschealth was able to turn his adjutant human permanently.

His ability allows him to transfer misforturne to others or objects. I think he was able to remove her curse.

Ebern was able to be granted Quincy powers and I think the same was done with her.
