I fr can’t stand when Hinata haters constantly blame her for Nejis death and say she “AsKed HiM to SaCfrIfiCe!” Like.. he did it out of free will and even told Naruto that Hinata was willing to sacrifice her life for him while dying. There is no page where she “asked him” to sacrifice. Other than that blame the Hyuga clan, Neji cared about Hinata and wanted the best for her which they can’t admit.

They care for each other as cousins and Neji died in honor❤️

I have a request, Neji Hyuga and the reader go on a mission together and the reader wears a blindfold just like Gojo but then when she fights her enemy's she takes the blindfold off and she tells him that her eyes would get tired if she doesn't cover them up and all that. Also Neji always trys to think that he doesn't like her and that he's just absorbing her strength (boy lying to himself🥱)

Ever since you were in school you used to steal glances at him because you always have been intrigued by his fighting skills and how good he is at it. 

And as you grew up, so did your powers. So you were advised to wear a blindfold as most of your chakra centers were near your eye it took a lot of strain on them.

You both were assigned to a mission that didn't go as you thought it would. You two ended up almost out of chakra during a fight and had to fall back. Your assigned teacher was out of sight as well so you both decided to seek shelter in one of the caves you could find.

It was a little bit smaller than what you'd like, but this is the best you got. As you two were resting, finally the overuse of chakra got to you and you started losing sight. You have been warned about it and since it never happened before you didn't know what to do and started freaking out.

He got a bit scared himself. He was trying his best to not lose his composure but he was scared and tried his best to not show it in his voice.

You ended up being unconscious. Your sensei finally caught up to both of you and you were sent straight to the hospital as soon as you all reach the village.

That is where it all started and he was scared to come anywhere near you because he thought that he absorbed your chakra or something. As you grew up you tried to talk to him but he'd always avoid you so you thought that he was creeped out about what happened and wanted nothing to do with you.

Which was kind of sad for you because you've always admired him. (Well, your teenage brain had some other thoughts but who are we to judge).

As you two grew older he became more and more easygoing but always kept his distance.

Once naruto came back from training with Jaria, everyone decided to hang out and were sparing you two were the only ones left so it was you both that had to spar during the fight you knew he was not giving his all so you tried to push him as much as possible to the point that he confessed that he was scared of hurting you again.

But the thing is this is not the only thing that he confessed he also said, "and I don't want to hurt you, especially you."

the handling of the hyuga clan is probably what annoys me the most within the naruto continuation/ending especially as someone who has neji and hinata as favorites (apart from sasuke) but what i need people to understand is that the lack of coverage over the resolution of their issues was kishimoto's fault and he dropped the ball because he had too much on his plate and too little time lol

what some people fail to understand is: neji is justified in his anger. more than justified, he has the right to be angry and use violence. he's under a system where he's basically a slave.

and what other people fail to understand too, is this: hinata was a privileged child. she was from the main family. she was the personification of neji's struggle, in a way. yet, she was still a child, one that was shunned and abused by her family too. she had power over neji and the second branch, power that wasn't chosen and that she didn't want, but still had.

could she change the power balance? could she abolish the seal? well THAT'S the real question.

during the war, it's said both her and neji are working together to change the hyuga clan. so maybe there is a way to abolish the seal. but what if there's not? it is made to understand that both families are fighting as equals, no longer divided, and from that moment on — blank period, boruto — we're not shown any divide between the hyuga, any mention of "first" or "second" family and no hyuga clan member with a seal in their heads.

so, what happened? how did it change?

we don't know and probably won't. kishimoto is not worried about getting the resolve on those political matters he himself created when they don't affect naruto (and now boruto) himself directly. it was important back when naruto could motivate both neji and hinata. once that was over, there's no need to expand.

the point is: yes, it sucks that a topic so crucial that basically shaped two very important and iconic characters from the series is so underwritten, but that's that. i feel like misogyny plays a role in that too, since the only relevant hyuga alive is hinata and her character is constantly sidelined anyway. also, kishimoto is always on the side of "everyone can be redeemed without showing them actually repenting" which is why hiashi hyuga is a cute little old grandpa after he just apologized to neji once.

no one asked but i’m gonna explain myself

tsunade, temari, and hinata are the reason konoha still exists, okay. tsunade is a wild card but a powerhouse and she ran a tight ship, and temari and hinata enforce the rules for the adhd icons now in charge of enforcing rules for the entire rest of the village (see: make sure the ninja presidents are home on time for dinner every once in a while).

kurenai, shino, kiba, and kankuro have a healthy respect for authority. they’re not here to cause any problems. that doesn’t mean they won’t, per se, but that’s not really their thing. they make reliable backup and dependable people in general.

hiruzen abuses his authority. he has absolute power until his hands are conveniently tied. he turns a blind eye to corruption that allows truly sinister activities to take place— orochimaru (re: anko and everything after), danzo, root, hyuga clan slavery and incident— or has a direct hand in overseeing them (uchiha clan massacre, general treatment of naruto, whatever the orphan/welfare system is).

shikamaru, neji, sakura, and kakashi are the biggest posers. they so badly want you to think that they give a hoot about the rules. probably because they’re supposed to be enforcing said rules. and they mostly do, because they spent a lot of time trying to come up with fair rules for everyone, but some things in life are more important than the rules, and those outliers should be counted, unlike spiders kimimarorg. (too much?) anyway these are the self-sacrificial backbones of the village who are aware of but don’t realize the depth of their importance beyond the roles they fill in the village.

asuma, choji, ino, and tenten follow all the rules except the stupid ones, and they decide which ones are stupid. these are the swing states, if you will. depending on who they’re with and what mood they’re in, they’ll either be sensible and mature with their decision making or down to clown. if they’re down to clown then they’re gonna act like they’re too cool for it while actively doing it.

suigetsu and karin follow their rules. if those happen to align with the rules of society or whatever, fine.

rock lee, gaara, naruto, and gai are really out here trying their best. but sometimes (often) they try a little too hard and things go terribly awry. what’s important is that they have good intentions and are quick to correct their behavior for the common good.

sai and jugo can’t help that they’re Like That it’s literally not their fault someone give them both a hug and never let go please

sasuke, orochimaru, and jiraiya are classic “no balls” friends with varying motives and degrees of malicious intent. regardless, they wanna see The Thing pan out. they have the camera rolling before their idiot friend even proposes the dumb idea they’re gonna regret testing out. sometimes they are the idiot friend, but they can usually downplay those moments by provoking the public servants who have flexible or nonexistent relationships with the rules.
