In ancient Rome Falernum was the name of the most favoured and most expensive wine. Modern Falernum has almost nothing in common with its ancient predecessor except its rich golden tint⚱️ . The velvet falernum is a rum liqueur and definitely one of my favorite-to-use liqueurs when it comes to rum cocktails and sweeter combinations🍹 . This sweet liqueur was usually flavoured with limes, almonds, cloves and ginger, and gained in importance during the tiki era in the middle of the 20th century💡 . In this particular version used, made by the germans brothers @thebittertruthcompany , uses a Caribbean rum as base and supports the complex exotic flavour profile composed of spicy ginger, citrus fruits, almonds and allspice🏺 . Being both rich and complex in flavor, if you have not tried this type of liqueur yet, you are missing out🙈 . Thankfully its still #negroniweek (as if I need a excuse) so of course I had to make a Rum Negroni, with Golden Falernum as a key player🥇 . The Sun is still shining ☀️ it is still Negroni week, and life is good👌🏽 . What more Can we ask for?😇 . How do you celebrate Day 2 of this great event?🧐 . I am not Doing Negronis all week long, but since Yesterday I really needed one more of these great variations on a Classic 🥃 . Sun and amaro often goes hand in hand at my patio, so wanted to Create a Negroni with amaro - still maintaining the Classic Vibe but also wanting to appeal to all the Amari Lovers out there (we are many) 💪😍 . Denmark and Germany being good neighbours I wanted to seal the Bond even more brining great products together in harmony 🤝 . Only to be topped with some really delicious and natural syrup by @blossomssyrups , the unity was in Perfect Libra ⚖️ . The Negroni is an excellent playground for any mixologist and bartender. Ingredients can be swapped for everything from rum to mezcal. What is your favorite version/twist?💡 . We have been talking about it for ages (4 days). We have been dreaming about it (still 4 days). We have been longing for it (yes, for 4 days) . And NOW it’s finally here; Weekend😍 . This means one thing and one thing only💪 . A delicious crafted cocktail😇 . Absurt Tonic is inspired and extracted from Nordic bitter roots and herbs (Rosemary, wormwood, fennel, gentian) They wanted to create a tonic concentrate that challenges the “norm” within the tonic world – using the Nordic nature as their playground. This tonic is filled with bitter herbs and tasty spices that defines this tonic👌🏽 . Not only focusing on the gin and G&T, this tonic aims to cover the whole spirit market, as a mixer in crafted cocktails. This bitter/sweet sensation; can it walk the talk?🤓 . Having #negroniweek2018 coming up on the 4th, this was a brilliant occasion to test it☀️ . I am big fan of exploring and trying new things, often resulting in combos to my specific liking (either that or I have a really wide taste and understanding of what’s good).
