my DIE YOUNG Needletail AMV is finally done!!! it goes through needletail's character development through AVOS and the blue, pink, and purple colours are tied to her relationships and character (Darktail/her loneliness, Rain/her selfish joy, Violetshine/her selflessness)

I've been working on this one for more than a year and completely in a new editing program too so im soooo happy to finally have it done ;w; this might be one of my last big amvs i'll have time to make so i hope yall enjoy!! (music in the video is ‘my die young’ by penny parker @snapscube)

💛: Favorite character?

Cloudtail is my number one!! Other favorites include Bluestar, Cinderpelt, Firestar, Scourge, Squirrelflight, Hollyleaf, Jayfeather, and Yellowfang. Tallstar is also making his way up there since I've been writing him so much.

From the newer arcs, I like Puddleshine and Needletail from A Vision of Shadows. Puddleshine is one of those characters where you don't have much to go on with canon, but I love the concept of his character so much that I can't help build onto it.

I admit, I haven't really connected with any of the characters from The Broken Code even if I was super hooked by the plot. Same deal with A Starless Clan, but we still have time with this arc.

👶: Favorite characters as a kid?

My favorites haven't really changed since I was a kid, but I'd say that back then Yellowfang was significantly higher on my list. Bluestar was my number one favorite character back then, with Cinderpelt at a close second.

🗺️: Favorite MAP, PMV, or AMV?

I'm so obsessed with StarClan's Chosen.

I also love To The Blade, which explores how Stonefur and Hollyleaf alike react to finding out that they're half-Clan.

And I really like Home. The New Prophecy is not my favorite arc, but this MAP is so pretty and it makes me ache for those times again. It's just really nostalgic.

🚷: Least favorite character?

Er, why is it that the first cat that comes to mind is Hawkwing?? Lol. I hate that man!!! I haven't even read his superedition or anything, I just hate his vibes.

Brambleclaw/star is getting up there too but even he holds some nostalgia factor for me and I can't totally untangle that.

🌻: Non-protagonist with the best arc?

Brightheart.

🌘: Character with the most wasted potential?

There's a lot of wasted potential in AVoS in particular imo. Alderheart, Puddleshine, and Sparkpelt all should have done more or better things in that arc. But I think I'm gonna say Puddleshine because he's my blorbo from that arc lol.

favorite thing about them

i think sasha's just an interesting character right off the bat, someone who caught the attention of tigerstar and got pulled into this horrible relationship and finally escaped. You really do feel for her when she's left to raise three kits all by herself and constantly has to choose between keeping them fed and being able to watch them.

i like Darktail as a villain and i like that he utilizes the lake, something that the clan's all live by is his greatest weapon. Drowning is scary to me so i'm probably biased lol OH and i like his moment of trying to connect with Violet

least favorite thing about them

for Sasha probably the lack of closure for her? i guess it's a double-edged sword, i kind of wish we got to learn more what happened to her and if she got the happy ending she deserved.

darktail....probably his backstory? it comes out of nowhere and doesn't add too much to anything. I'd also say the kin as a group are kind of generic bad group who hate old people, i think they could've done more with a group trying to emulate the Clans.

on a related note like. yeah i understand being annoyed by the popularity/attention that certain characters get from the fandom (im a huge violetshine fan and it bothers me to no end how much attention needletail and sleekwhisker get compared to her), but idk theres nothing WRONG w ppl rly liking/making content abt the same characters. even if it is repetitive or whatever, i dont think we should put down other ppl for it. like i get the sentiment behind "ugh ANOTHER mapleshade map are u kidding me" but look, like it or not these characters are popular for a reason and ppl have every right to make content abt them. theres nothing wrong w being annoyed by it but theres a difference between having an opinion and being a dick abt it yknow? especially when u remember that this is a series for kids and a lot of fan content is made by them. let them have their fun, ik ur sick of seeing hollyleaf amvs set to the same glass animal songs but at the end of the day its just a harmless catbook video. know this and be at peace
