WIP! Revisiting an old sketch

While trying to figure out a way to back up my DA account (still pending), I stumbled across this sketch (the two in blue). I remember I sketch them up real quick in MS Paint to show a friend how I thumbnail for figuring out compositions. I never did anything with it, until just now. So yeah, I did the b/w sketch this morning, and I wonder how much I'll get done. Right now, I'm working on it in-between other activities.

Right now, idk what style I'll go for. I think originally, I was in a phase of wanting to mimic high fantasy illustration, like the paintings on mtg cards. Or perhaps I was inspired by some of my favorite folks working in concept art at the time. Today, I'm a bit enamored with the graphite-looking sketch. Maybe I'll lean into it, reference illustrators of the art deco and roaring twenties, through to the great magazine and ad illustrators of the mid-twentieth century. Or maybe I won't try to emulate anyone at all.

I need to decide whether or not I want color. Whether I want a clean-flat-digital look, a dry-medium look, or a painterly look. Or somewhere in-between.
