Nobody Else (Can take me higher) sneak peek!

Hi! I'm still writing but right now I'm more focused on reading (Which is food for writing, of course) but here's a small scene I want to share:

Aizawa-sensei stared down at them, even though he was shorter than them.

“That was the single most amazing display of ability and control of a Jaeger I’ve ever seen.” Then he bowed slightly. “Congratulations, soldiers.”

Under any other circumstances, Katsuki would have preened from the praise, but as he returned the bow, the presence of the person standing by his side was painfully in his realness.

The red drive suit.

The mop of green curls.

Deku.

Katsuki could still feel him in his mind.

“Dad!”

A flash of purple dashed between them, and both jumped out of the way as Shinsou reached his father. Katsuki wasn’t the only one who looked away as Aizawa-sensei hugged his son so hard his arms trembled. Privacy was deserved. Many people didn’t get to hug their loved ones after a battle.

He caught some hisses from his mentor, things like ‘You’re okay’ and ‘You need to go see Eri’, and Shinsou grumbled in response, returning the hug.

Whatever happened from now on, it had been worth it just to bring him back to Aizawa-sensei.

Oh boy, I love Shinsou and Aizawa so damn much!

I FINALLY finished editing the next chapter of Nobody Else and I made myself cry multiple times... Hopefully Bella finds it as enjoyable as I did! I'll start working on Deku's birthday fic, but for now, here’s a sneak peek!

Deku threw his head back and smiled at him upside down.

“You’re a softie, you know that?”

Katsuki threaded his fingers in the green curls and made him face forward again. “Stop talking before I leave you here, Deku.”

He laughed, and when Katsuki didn’t immediately move his hand from his hair, Deku seemed to push for the touch.

For a single second, Katsuki entertained the idea of telling Deku he loved him, but he held back. He wasn’t reckless, Katsuki would know when the time came. So he enjoyed his company, because even though it wasn’t the right moment, it didn’t mean it wasn’t still precious to him.

My boss is so excited about this new case we're handling at the lawfirm, and he goes: "Aren't you happy you're part of this team?"

And I kid you not, I was just thinking that his stupid case has me so tired of reading and writing that I haven’t been able to write my fic, so, no, sir, I'm NOT happy

So here’s a little dialogue that I wrote while he gave us a very important summary of the lawsuit;

"Fuck, listen, maybe this is a really fucked up thing to say, but... I'm glad you're here. Like, I wouldn't want to go through this with nobody else. If I had to choose a person to be with me at the end of the world, I just know it had to be you. Thank you for coming back, Izuku, and for choosing me too, I guess."

"Nobody else, Kacchan?"

"Nobody else, Deku"

EXCUSE MEEEEEE, THIS IS GORGEOUS!!!!!!

I keep jumping all over this piece because I love everything! From the Conn-Pod, the lighting, the drivesuits, their expressions!!! Aaaaaahhhh! Deku's determination and Bakugou's victory smirk!!! You captured the moment perfectly!

Please allow me to repay this incredible drawing, with one of my favorite parts of the next chapter:

Now, holding Deku in his arms, about to embark on what could be a suicidal mission, Katsuki couldn’t find within himself any regrets. They were finally together, it was their destiny, and they knew each other’s truth, so no matter what happened, they could find comfort in it.

And yet, Katsuki was greedy. He wanted the easy days, and the harder days. He wanted the laughs and the arguments. He wanted their shared past, but also a future.

Katsuki wanted the rest of his life with Izuku.

Holding him harder, he whispered furiously into his hair. “A perfect victory, Deku, you hear me?” Katsuki pulled back to touch their foreheads together. “We fight and we win, and we don’t lose shit.”

Deku smiled, eyes glassy. “We save everyone.”

“Promise me,” Katsuki said. He kissed him hard and fast, taking the protest from right out of his mouth. “Promise me now, we’ll figure out how to come through later.”

Deku nodded, clinging to him. “I promise.”

Satisfied by the determination filling the green eyes he loved so much, Katsuki cupped his cheeks and tilted Deku’s face up for a last and lingering kiss.

When they broke apart, Katsuki held out his hand.

“Come on, Deku.”

His partner took his hand, and for the first time, they walked hand in hand into the Conn-Pod.

I finished the next chapter of Nobody Else! Can you believe after this one, we only have 3 chapters left??? I can't believe we're so close to the end. I'm going to be able to say I wrote a whole Pacific Rim AU for Bakudeku!

I'm doing some editing before handing it out to my beta Bella, but here’s a sneak peek:

“I can handle all the talk,” Izuku offered.

Kacchan gave him a look so incredulous, as if Izuku had offered to flash the press. “The only person worse than me at this shit, is you. So not exactly as reassuring as you might think, Deku,” he gave Monoma and Shinsou a look. “Okay, maybe the purple morons will be worse.”

“We’ll do great,” Monoma said, with a confidence Izuku didn’t believe. Not when he was holding Shinsou’s hand tight enough to turn his knuckles white.

“I’ve never heard you say something nice,” Kirishima said.

“I say nice things to Hitoshi all the time.”

“Let me rephrase it for you, man,” Kaminari lifted a hand. “I’ve never heard you say nice things to anyone you don’t want to see naked."

“That’s because I don’t like you," Monoma said. “Besides, I don’t need to say nice things to get him naked.”

“If you want to keep it like that, you’re going to stop talking, Neito,” Shinsou warned.

“I’m sorry to interrupt such a riveting conversation,” said Aizawa-san, joining them. Everyone blushed, but Shinsou went white. In a moment like this, Izuku was glad to be an orphan.

I don't think there's one scene I don’t love this chapter! But the end? Man, the end is something I had been saving since before I started the story and I'm so proud of it... You'll see.

To those of you quoting parts of the latest Nobody Else chapter back at me in the comments, I'm patting the top of your heads and giving you a treat, I love it, especially the ones quoting what I consider THE line in the chapter! It makes me so happy to be writing something people enjoy this much!

Finally, after a month and a half of constant sickness, I got better and went to see Hozier... I think I destroyed my vocal cords but it was so worth it! He's such a raw performer and a truly gorgeous and beautiful man. I think he enjoyed the loudness of his fans in Mexico A LOT!

Anywho, I still have a couple of days of vacations, so what better thing to do than write NECTMH?

"That sounded like something straight out of my mouth."

"Is that a compliment?"

"You were an asshole, Deku."

"So, it was a compliment."

When Katsuki touched their shoulders together it was a playful gesture. "Don't waste my time asking stupid questions if you already know the answer."

Deku beamed at him, and something finally righted itself inside of Katsuki.

I celebrated AO3 being back up by reading like 10 Bakudeku fics before breakfast and I loved it!

Huh, would he look at that? His breath caught in his throat as Kacchan covered Izuku’s fist gently. “I win.”

Izuku wasn’t so sure that was the case. The outcome of a Jankenpon had never been so irrelevant to him. He truly didn’t care about who got two of the three, since he was winning either way. Especially since Kacchan hadn’t let go of his hand yet.

Look at this guys, I'm back at it with the longing!

Nobody Else Sneak peek!

I was writing the scene before the last battle and I just got so emotional I had to stop, because I went back to check something and ended up reading their reunion, and I can't...

How did we get from here...

They hadn’t been face to face since Deku left Japan, and Katsuki couldn’t help but catalogue every change; he was taller, not by much though, but he was bigger, all broad shoulders and thick torso. His hair was the same crow’s nest of green curls that he had since he was a crying brat, longer at the top and shorter on the sides. The same dark freckles dusted his cheeks, and he had more of a lighter tone scattered over the bridge of his nose, most likely from the Los Angeles’ sun. His voice had the same soft tone, but it was deeper now, less hesitant than he remembered. More importantly, his green eyes were the same, too big for his face and excessively earnest, if a little haunted.

He was a stranger wearing his best friend’s face, and Katsuki wanted to smash something against the wall.

In turn, Deku’s expression blanked out, and then went through a series of emotions so fast that Katsuki got dizzy.

Disbelief.

Shock.

Apprehension.

Happiness.

Excitement.

Fondness.

Warmth.

His stupid giant green eyes had always been a kaleidoscope of all he was feeling, and Katsuki had to stay there and witness it, while acting like the perfect statue, praying his face betrayed nothing.

To heeeeere...?

They were as intertwined as two people could be, and Katsuki didn’t feel like it was enough.

Deku sighed, still sleeping, and nuzzled into his chest, tilting his head up, so Katsuki had a better view of his face. He took one hand from his back, and brushed the curls from his forehead. As Katsuki cupped his face, he touched the pad of his thumb over his bottom lip. His mouth was red and swollen. Katsuki had done that to him. His mouth was bruised from his kisses, but he couldn’t find within himself any regrets. Not when last night was so fresh in his mind.

'I love you. I love you so much, Kacchan.'

Katsuki pressed his lips tight, and closed his stinging eyes before he did something ridiculous, like cry before he even had breakfast. He took a shaky breath, and sunk his face into the mess of green curls.

We're in the endgame, folks, and I'm not ready...

Today, after practically a month where I took a vacation to visit Pink 💖, went to my brother's graduation, got sick so bad I thought I was going to die, in addition to coming back to my legal team in flames, I finally had time to sit down and write and I could have cried

I also realized the A in my keyboard disappeared lol, but I could still write this:

The minute Deku walked into the room, he made a beeline for Katsuki, ignoring everyone else. His copilot stopped short of connecting with his chest, tilting his head up to look at him. His face broke into a beaming smile that nearly had Katsuki’s knees buckling. Deku had changed into his uniform, they all had, and he looked every bit of the soldier he was, but his smile was the same as it had been when they were kids. Open and honest, and as bright as it always was when it was directed at Katsuki. It was a smile worth winning a war for.

I'm pushing myself to finish the next chapter of Nobody Else by Christmas! It's a gift for me and the readers. I'm finally writing my favorite chapter and here's a small taste of it:

“Why are you looking at me with that stupid expression?”

“You look like a superhero,” Izuku blurted out, and refrained from burying his face on his hands in mortification when he saw Kacchan's face turn beet red. He looked softer.

“For fuck’s sake, Deku, I thought you’ll grow out of that stupid habit of saying that kind of shit,” Kacchan turned away, but Izuku could still see that the tips of his ears were red.

“Ha, I don’t think that’s possible,” Izuku said, taking a seat in the cleanest chair he could find. “I like what you did with the colors.” Kacchan looked deadly. Maybe the result wouldn’t be the same when Izuku wore it, but he was still excited about matching.

“I couldn’t keep you wearing the red suit,” Kacchan muttered. “You looked like a fucking strawberry without the helmet on.”

Izuku bursted out laughing. “Okay, fair,” he conceded, then he thought better of it and pushed his luck. “Besides, you’re the one to talk, you looked like a carrot in your orange suit.”

Kacchan spun, seething. “How fucking dare you?! That orange was-” Izuku’s smile betrayed him, making Kacchan groan and roll his eyes. “Fucking jackass. You’re kidding."

“Yeah, I am. I really liked your orange suit,” he grinned widely, and Kacchan’s expression softened for a few seconds, then he went back to glowering.

“I’m ignoring you until the crazy chick comes back.”

And no, this isn't the GAYEST part of this chapter...
