Thank you so much for sending me some questions from @radfemlibrarian‘s ask game! 29. What is your opinion of misandrists? I don't think misandry exists because for it to exist women would need to be the ones in the privileged position. How can we be oppressive towards males when we aren’t privileged over them? 35. What lead you to your current view of radical feminism? I used to be a TRA. I talked about what led me to become a radfem more in this post. But here's the TLDR version: I met and fell in love with a rad-leaning woman who wasn’t the mean nasty terve everyone told me she’d be. I then started to begin thinking critically for myself and question what I was told. I started to research and agree with people on radblr, and overall it was kind of scary because it meant I had to leave all that I had known. As for my current views of radfeminism, I think they are definitely shaped by the fact that I think everything holds nuance, and that things aren’t always black and white. I think my time in the TRA community has also led to me having compassion for many of its members, since I’m able to see their POV. But that doesn’t mean TRAs are right (nuance, people!), and every day I get more and more solidified in my beliefs now that I am able to think for myself freely. 46. Are you ‘out’ as a radical feminist? I’m ‘out’ to a few of my irl friends, but I’ve also lost quite a few because of it. I’m slowly learning to be more open with my beliefs, since I know it helps other women. Before the pandemic I joined a newly formed radfem group in my area, but unfortunately we haven’t done more than stickerbomb since we can’t really meet up. I hope to do more work in the future though and to become more open despite the threats and harassment I've faced

that's literally not what nectarxne is saying. here's the thing:: if you call yourself a radfem it means you recognize the true violent, entitled and self interested nature of men. whether that's biological or societal conditioning is a different question.
at the end of the day, if you, after knowing all that you know about men, can continue to feel sexual attraction toward them either:
1) you don't actually believe anything radfem theory has said about men
2) you think the men you're attracted to are the exception (so does every other woman on earth, yet the exception still beats, rapes and abuses)
or 3) you're attracted to violent abusers and you need to accept that fact and work on it
It's really not complicated. Stop trying to misunderstand her point on purpose bc you let your sexual desires rule over your mental faculties. I used to feel attraction toward men before I knew about them, and now I consider myself asexual instead of straight.

also i believe schizophobic/redhoodrobin’s terf side blog is radcatgirl btw for blocking also block nectarxne bc they also a huge transphobe and probably one of the above persons friends considering theyve been coming on my posts to say dumb shit like trans people advocating for sterilization as if the vast majority of forced sterilizations werent done by cishet white colonizers on people of colour for racial reasons.

TMI/TW het stuff: So this might not be something you can answer, but how can OSA women discuss how dicks are gross without conflating our aesthetic rejection with the sexual repulsion lesbians experience? Because dicks aren't anything interesting to look at. Men's questionable hygiene means we've had some funky smells added to our perspective. Those of us who've performed oral know the taste of ejaculate is sour or bitter but always terrible. Then you consider what we learn in general about, like, smegma. And one thing I liked about everything @nectarxne said is we don't experience true clinical repulsion to our own bodies, which is why as a woman and a feminist I'm not grossed out by vaginas and some of that ~divine feminine~ vulva imagery. And I guess that's why guys are obsessed with their own dicks. I can totally understand how this contributes to lesbian confusion growing up with het as default. Is there any good way to distinguish all of this?
i guess idk.. differentiating between not thinking something is aesthetically pleasing and framing it to others as like. something u think is repulsive? idk. i can’t speak on this bc as a lesbian i simply find penises gross and feel nothing for it and repulsed by them. so i don’t know how exactly het nor bi women feel about penises at all, i just know growing up i heard het women say penises are gross and ugly and all women think so etc, not much of an emphasis on liking other aspects of male bodies. and i was like oh ok my lack of attraction to male bodies is just part of the hetero experience! other women also aren’t into male bodies! i have to say i did find ppl calling vulvas gross very very confusing and odd bc i never felt that way but i heard that moreso from men, less so from het women.
tbh from the way you worded it, it doesn’t sound like u necessarily find dicks gross or repulsive, but obviously u care about decent personal hygiene (understandable) and maybe u don’t think they’re like.. anything intriguing necessarily but i don’t get the sense here that u find it inherently gross? the thing that confused me a lot is that the het women in my life would straight up tell me “don’t worry, we think penises are gross but you’ll end up liking it anyways :)” or “yeah we all think male bodies aren’t nice and find female bodies attractive!”. i realise now when im around them that they DO in fact like penises (some of my female relatives straight up were like “wait so u really don’t like penises AT ALL?”) and DO find male bodies attractive. so that makes the statements i heard growing up even more confusing to me today 😭. idk if i gave any useful insight here, i probs just rambled aimlessly.... idk hopefully maybe someone can give a better answer here

Nectarxne wasn't a biphobe. She was autistic or something and very confused how women who said they were repulsed by men were simultaneously attracted to them. She thought febfems were saying they were never attracted to men instead of saying they do not act on attraction to men anymore. In her other posts she was very hung up on language and word choices and confused to a degree nobody else was.
hi love. well i'm sorry! i didn't know much about her, all i saw was her posts arguing with bi women so i just assumed. I understand her, but it doesn't make what she said any less wrong or changes the fact that other women agreed with her. i'm not interested in talking about her any further tho, she's not even on tumblr anymore.

I remember the first Nectarxne controversy, because she took the word repulsion in the clinical sense when febfems said they were repulsed by men when what they meant was turned off by men. You guys need to relax more. I know a lot of you are itching to prove heterophobia is real and feminists want to break you up with your Nigel and make you eat pussy, but remember. Tumblr attracts the less socially adjusted and a lot of autistic people who take things literally. Some people have strong opinions and word them incorrectly. Some people misinterpret what you say. Misunderstandings are common. Take more time to understand each other, or block people who bother you instead of picking on them. She had one of the few nuanced takes on goldstar discourse, actually. Be less strident.
