Bit of self-indulgence with this one. Couple of years ago, I did a daft connected attempt at a themed run of October drawings. It was called Apoctober and I did a thing involving Lovecraft and a superhero apocalypse. It was as daft as it sounded. Anyway, I made Nyarlathotep the main bad guy and did him up as a Doctor Doom-esque supervillain. And since I really liked the design, I had to occasionally reuse him...

Anyway, stay away from comic people who want to sacrifice actual chickens on the convention floor...

Okay, writing update!

I decided to do a oneshot today as I finished the last of my requested drabbles yesterday, and didn't feel like adding another chapter to Mama Bird.

This oneshot is finished and will be posted at some point, and I went a bit more wild with it than I do with most of my fics as I decided to do something with the fact that the Necronomicom was part of the Tokyo Soul lore.

So that's another oneshot that's been added to the hoard! I'm sure you all will see it one day!

This is a setting I made with few characters so far but they're basically just monsters existing in a modern setting (heavy inspo from Trevor Henderson I'll admit)

Tadpole (she/it)

Formerly a human, Tadpole is a "demon" that feeds on nightmares. She's just very very big and honestly turned out kind of motherly, since it replaces nightmares with good dreams by nature and will sing to people having nightmares if it can't reach them.

Bandage (any, i usually default to it/its)

Bandage is another "demon" but instead of coming from a human, Bandage was originally a fern. It doesn't have a single true form, but the one constant between its forms are bandages wrapped around its face, only revealing one eye if any

Its resting form is closest to a true form and its a potted fern and it also has a humanoid "commimunication" form it plays with sometimes (both pictured)

Maybe eventually there'll be more than DnD in here, this is more just TTRPG characters

Nowhere (he/him)

My sweet Teifling Warlock (very original i know) Nowhere. He's half elven, hence his ears, and completely swagless. He is dying more than half of the time because his pact makes him violently ill. He originally wanted to be a wizard like his adoptive lesbian moms but that didn't work out and he got a little desperate.

In specific circumstances he's Asmodeus himself's accident son and also stole Strahd von Zarovich's husband with his loser rizz

My Thaumaturge. He's a prior main who has taken the sidelines for now while I procrastinate Zafaria. Level 71.

Hes a resident of the Spiral since he was young, but was originally taken from Earth. Taken to none other than Marleybone unfortunately. He grew up there with barely restrained talent in ice magic but he got an Elsa complex about it because Marleybone is dumb and hates magic. He's better now. Still British but he's cool and very sunshiney

Depicted at 21 years old, still in school and simultaneously the only competent detective to ever join (and leave) the Marleybone Police Force

Joshua Inkweaver (he/him)

My Conjurer. Current main at level 36. No idea what I'm gonna do when I hit Zafaria on him.

He's a resident of Wizard City, born and raised, and grew up on Cyclops Lane. He has three younger sisters, Kestrel, Holly and Angela. He loves writing fiction and dreams of one day hopes to write a story so legendary that there come to be Myth spells based around it. As you can imagine, he is rather pretentious about it, but he LOOOVES to help his juniors when they're too afraid to ask Professor Drake. Complete motherhen. He works part time at the Wizard City Library, which really expedites his tutoring process since he knows exactly where everything is. Every bossfight with him consists of him cussing the boss out and calling them a jackass and moron in various ways until he finds the right words to make them cry. His favorite evokation.

For my artistic purposes, Joshua is the same age as Zachary and in the same grade. In game though, I have him at about 17 and in Mooshu.

Call back to last year's October drawing thing, Apoctober, where I did a mostly Lovecraftian-themed run. Basically, weird, Lovecraftian superhero mashup called The Necronomicomic.

Anyway, here's the big bad Super-villainous version of the Nefarious Pharaoh, Nyarlathotep! Attempting a come back... Dave's having none of it.

Prompt was Lovecraft, I'm sure you've all at least vaguely heard of him.

Another ordinary day. It was spooky month though so she was ready for Halloween and was getting stuff prepared for that. For now she was just gonna be doing her normal routine, getting up, heading downstairs to get herself something to eat, and so on. It was so ordinary in fact that she was going through the motions without even so much as thinking about what was going on. That was, until she heard some shrieking outside and weird noises. Eh? What was going on? Yongen-Jaya was usually pretty quiet at this time in the morning. Or was it afternoon? She didn’t check. Anyways she had to stop what she was doing and take a look outside.

There was people freaking out and running about on the main road and it didn’t take her long to ascertain what was going on. It was her persona! Well, the first stage of it anyways, Necronomicom, flying around in the sky acting like some freaky UFO. Oh dear god, how did it appear out of nowhere. As soon as she was spotted it headed over to her with the tentacles out and proceeded to try to grab at her like it used to to bring her into its embrace. This time she just backed up and went back inside before it could grab her.

“Okay...my persona is in the real world...and it just tried to grab me like it always did. Am I gonna have the military at my place because of my persona?” That wasn’t a good thought. What the hell was she gonna do? She carefully made her way out and looked at Necronomicon. “Eh heh heh...hello. We’re not in the metaverse...I don’t know how you’re here but you can just be grabbing me like you do.” She explained as it was seemingly contemplating this. But then decided to wrap its tentacles around her anyways, just as a friendly hug. “Ugh, you didn’t listen did you. What am I gonna do...?”
