actually not okay about these comparisons like fuck me jesus christ, so we have past!lavi, abandoning his cause for neah, seeing this bright undefeatable light in him that causes him to leave behind bookman for the third side, that past!allen also saw in neah and in past!lavi.

then we have current!lavi, also facing the same thing, meeting allen and seeing an undefeatable light that is driving him away from his clan, just like his predecessor.

like the parallels are fucking haunting like jesus christ hoshino fucking nailed it. as a laven and nealavi fan i am fucking well fed by this shit lmao.

but god, whoever past!lavi is the parallels are beautiful, like if he's cross then cross abandoned the clan for neah, grooms allen into disappearing, and allen is so resistant to this that he inspires the current bookman junior, our!lavi, to potentially abandon it all for him like cross did for neah.

if past!lavi became crowned clown then lavi's "bookmen have no need of a heart" thing becomes the funniest and most painfully ironic thing if past!lavi LITERALLY becomes a part of allen's heart to protect him from death at the hands of tyki mikk. if past! or current!lavi are the heart then this becomes even funnier.

if past!lavi becomes current!lavi through de-ageing time travel shenanigans then lavi is doomed in every timeline to abandon his clan for the sake of neah and allen over and over again.

so i think neah is misremembering past!allen and past!lavi, he remembers someone who looks like past!lavi but calls him allen so i think he's just misremembering people. the bookmen were recording with the noah at this time so it makes sense for past!lavi and neah to have been friends

ironically past!allen and neah weren't even friends and just made a devil like deal like current!allen made with mana / the earl.

as for the idea of past!lavi being crowned clown and maybe even the heart, that would make me go insane given "bookmen have no need of a heart" (past!lavi as crowned clown becomes a physical part of allen's heart to keep him alive after tyki tries to kill him) and the implications of current!lavi becoming besties with allen, like past!lavi did neah, and facing the same woes and fears that his previous self did is like (lies down and screams into a pillow)

also a win for the nealavi fans (me, just me) if current!lavi ever meets neah like here we go again bucko

I wonder if the 35+ year old Allen at the end of the chapter eventually became besties with a Nea inside his head during the time jump.

Nea referred to Allen as a friend and seemed genuinely upset that he didn't remember him, but that wouldn't make sense if they spoke only once before Nea died...

Apocryphos could have locked Nea's memory/power away again in that attack, and that's why he was dormant in our new Allen for so long.

Also, if Apocryphos hated Allen as the host and tried to destroy him, but then Jr. Stepped in and became crown clown (!?) is it actually Jr that apocryphos reveres?

He calls Allen an angel and is obsessed with him, but what if it's the old Lavi in/attached to Allen that he loves??

And if apo as an independent innocence likes the bookmen, that might explain how our Lavi and Bookman got their own innocences so easily...

How I feel about this characterI’m positively curious about him. He is an extremely intriquing character, and the current info we have about him is conflicting. He is cruel enough to kill his clan members, but warm enough to do it for his “brother.” He hates humans but stands Cross and past!Allen. He wants to become the Millenium Earl, but the other Noahs don’t want that. He is kind of hot and cold. I want to like him more, and I’m eagerly waiting for his past and reasons to be properly unraveled.

All the people I ship romantically with this characterAllen, Lavi, and possibly Tyki. Mana if we squint and wanna go a less sane route. Allen should be no brainer, even if I’m not too interested in past!Neallen yet (I do not know what kinda of person past!Allen was, so I cannot say yes or no about him). I’m generally open and interested about most Lavi pairings and possibilities, and Nealavi is pretty damn interesting one. I’m curious how their dynamic would play out in general. Aaand Tyki… well, I suppose that’d be one of those red flag things, too. So far Nea seems like someone who can get under Tyki’s skin and possibly overpower him–which makes for an interesting (possibly temporary) dynamic, especially if we mix in that mystery of their looks too. Don’t think it’d end up too well for them, though… wouldn’t be pretty at least.

My non-romantic OTP for this characterMana, Allen, Cross, and Link. His moments with Link were golden.

My unpopular opinion about this characterHe is as grey as a stone. I do not adore, pity, or sneer at him. He is neither a demon nor a saint (which should be given, concerning this is a series full of grey characters), and definitely not a lost puppy. Whatever cruel or bad things he might have done are just as interesting and important as those warmer, human moments. Especially when most of him is still shrouded in mystery.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.Allen and him reaching some kind of compromise. Him meeting and interracting with Lavi would be a big bonus.

past!lavi / past!allen merge is a go-go, de-aged lavi and past!lavi = cross theory is dead but that's fine honestly, past!lavi becoming part of allen and/or crowned clown is still exceptional

like "bookmen have no need of a heart" takes on a whole new meaning when a bookman apprentice literally is part of allen's heart to keep him from dying lmao

apo hoped crowned clown would destroy allen and neah but past!lavi is the reason allen and neah have both survived, which is ironic considering how much innocence could be a literal enemy in this instance. i wonder if apo knows what's happened to past!lavi.

also "the heart is worried about you" also becomes really interesting if it's about past!lavi, we've been fans of "lavi is the heart" theory for decades so it'd be pretty hilarious if it is lavi, just not the current one lol

nealavi also so real just with past!lavi instead of current!lavi (though hopefully they meet in the future lol)

also makes cross pretty interesting, just who is he then? he's either aligned to the bookman clan like the zeugle are, or he's a third person with the same obscured right eye, scar (on the mask at least) and glasses like past!lavi somehow. i wonder if he grew up with neah and mana in some way considering he remembers them as children?

and then yeah it explains why allen is bookman's solution too if he's merged with the previous junior and bookmen work according to blood, i wonder if bookman knew or just assumed allen and/or neah would be the solution to his "lack of a successor" problems
