Nancy Drew Games’ Dark Subplots
(I wanted to make a collection of the theories people had about game subplots, and the proven subplots y’all forgot about)
spoiler and trigger warning ⚠️
SCK - (this game just IS dark) the m*rder of a high school boy by an adult - teens on steroids
STFD - BOMBS! (@this-story-of-dreams)
MHM - homeless young adult (Charlie)
TRT - child abandonment (Dexter)
FIN - aggressive behavior attributed to dementia
SSH - m*rder via s*ffocation (the Whisperer)
CAR - Dissociative amnesia and childhood trauma (Joy)
DDI - animal ab*se and human tr*fficking
SHA - capital punishment for theft (Dirk)
CUR - child abandonment and burning at the stake (Elinor) - emotional ab*se - extramarital affair (Hugh and Renée subplot, thanks @canutecollege) - generational trauma
CLK - psychological manipulation and emotional ab*se of a child - the Great Depression threatening everyone and Black Tuesday on its way
TRN - self-neglect resulting in death (pretty obvious Jake arranged to die where Nancy found him)
DAN - Sonny and Minette had a one night stand after Minette got a drunk tattoo of an alien, also why she left Dieter (@nancynancydrewdrewdrew) - and of course, literal war and nazis
CRE - purposeful corruption of an entire community’s food source - human sacrifice
ICE - childhood trauma (Yani)
CRY - elder ab*se
HAU - child abandonment and trauma (Fiona)
RAN - just hate crimes and kidn*pping
WAC - bullying and either su*cide or mansl*ughter (Rita)
SAW - su*cide (Kasumi)
CAP - r*pe and pr*datory behavior (the original “monster”)
TMB - attempted m*rder - child abandonment (Daughters of Nefertari, @pisoprano)
DED - m*rder of course
GTH - r*pe and inc*st (Clara’s mother and grandfather) - slavery and neglect resulting in mass m*rder - just plain old mansl*ughter/m*rder (Charlotte)
SPY - m*rder - terrorism
LIE - threats (Niobe) - gang violence
SEA - mansl*ughter vía mob violence (Alda Lawrence) - kidn*pping
MID - lots of burning at the stake
It’s just so interesting to me that I played these games so often when I was young and never picked up on some of these (kinda like all the dirty jokes in Disney movies you only notice as an adult) but they make a fuller, more human story imo.
Please let me know if y’all have more!

Okay horror-podcast-blr I need help with something that is driving me nuts. I listened to a horror podcast several years ago that I can't find anywhere. I remember that:
It was based around a monster like the w*nd*go but that's not what it was called in this podcast. It was more of a shapeshifter (I thought it was a werewolf at first) but had an ambiguous body and skull head.
The podcast was named after the creature. The podcast cover art was the creature's head but very obscured--like a serious dark close up
The main character had just returned home (I think) in kind of shame. (Either he'd failed out of college or just gotten out of prison or something)
He got hired to be a night watchman at a museum in town, which is how he got involved in the monster subplot.
As the podcast goes on, you learn it's no accident he's dealing with this and he was already involved etc etc
There are other characters but I can't remember exactly who-- the daytime watchman, a woman, a student maybe?
I found this through the "others like" feature on spotify-- either from Old Gods of Appalachia or Bridgewater
There was other media that went along with this podcast, like a TV show from a really small production company that dealt with a larger extended universe, but I never watched it

The case for an ND reading of Jackie Taylor, a decently-sized post.
I got a lot of scrambled thoughts on this, and they need a space for coherence. Maybe this is more for my own headcanon-ing, but feel free to take this if you want to. A lot of this comes down to a certain reading of text that I do with a certain kind of lens that may not be there for everyone. And that's fine! This is just silly analysis stuff that I wanted to do.
Am I an "authority figure" on this? Probably not by some standards! I consider myself to be on some spectrum, but only my brother has a diagnosis (tm), so do with that what you will.
This a mix of new thoughts and some copy-pasted from messages i sent on discord once.
SO, where to start. The first proper introduction of Jackie with other people is that gruelling opening sequence, but I think the more interesting is her first scene with Shauna where we get the big chunk of what the history is between these two and on what dynamic they interact with each other.
Jackie's got the whole thing color-coded and planned out. She likes that, but from all the other things later in the episode -- and the season -- it becomes very clear that she likes to have some input that ranges from voicing her opinion to micro-managing in order to feel in control and somewhat safe in her position as (social) captain of the Yellowjackets.
That Shauna is going to Rutgers with Jackie is taken as a given by her. One interpretation is that Jackie thinks that Shauna, obviously, will go with her to Rutgers on the basis of their friendship. However, I would like to propose a lil switch in that maybe Jackie hopes that Shauna will go with her to Rutgers. Getting into Brown isn't nothing, and there's gotta be some pointers at High School that Shauna would be/feel overqualified for Rutgers.
High school is a game of social credits. Jackie knows what to wear, what to say, what to do. Coach points out her "influence", and she demonstrates some skills at conflict-resolution during the kegger. Soccer is a game, one that she's very passionate about, as is her supposedly on-and-off-ish thing with Jeff. The funny thing is that Jackie seems way more interested in calling out how her boyfriend's team has been doing at baseball, rather than stuff that concerns him (or the both of them) personally.
To segway back a bit: Everything is a game with rules. Jackie knows them, but is shown to be really out of her element in the wilderness and trying to bring back normal societal rules into it (this will be a surprise tool that will help us later). Is Shauna going with her to Rutgers a naive wish on the basis of their friendship, or is it also so Jackie can have someone to scout and feel out all the social conventions for her? College means that a new playbook needs to be made, and it saves embarassment if you can base it on someone else.
Jackie assuming that Shauna would go along to Rutgers to be her roommate can very well be an expression of "this is my best friend and my sole, kind, understanding constant in my life, and I need her there with me in this unknown territory." College means starting over from scratch, and if we assume the manual-based functioning to be true, then Shauna's presence there to take cues from could help a lot to smooth out this transition.
On the other hand, this is of course the opportunity to drop some masking that Jackie might've been doing. Shauna being there could then very well work against her
My greatest argument, I think, is that you can see the entirety of Jackie's lil subplot of going after Travis as an example of how such a process backfires tremendously against her.
A little step-by-step:
Jackie is shown to give Shauna multiple chances to come clean about the Jeff Thing. Shauna doesn't, but Jackie still sticks around her.
Jackie proposes the plan to have some fun with Travis to Shauna. Shauna voices her thoughts about it, underlining that it would be a bad thing to do to Natalie.
This notion is repeated throughout the episode. Travis himself brings it up, the high group of hunters brings it up, Nat herself looks not too pleased at Jackie and Travis slow-dancing at doomcoming.
There's an interesting reverse happening once the hunter girls confront Jackie about having had sex with Travis. Everyone is out of their minds, so idk how well we can factor in that almost all of them proceed to go after Travis despite mentioning once again that "he's Natalie's".
Doomcoming is post journal discovery, yet quite some time has passed between that and the episode. Jackie makes some very obvious comments at Shauna to signal that She Knows, and the Travis plan is set up after that. Hooking up with Travis can serve the plainly stated "I'm not gonna die a virgin :/", but over the course of the episode, it also creates this whole new catalogue of reactions from the others. And all of these, in their defence of Natalie, would speak in favor of Jackie if the news would break that Shauna had sex with Jeff.
So at the end of Doomcoming, we can get some sort of list of "rules" that would apply out here in the wilderness appendix for the section on CHEATING
People can call dibs on someone, and those are to be respected
Acting like the "bigger person" by calling everyone out on how little value it has out here is not going to do you any favors
The group will react badly if you crossed a line in their eyes. Taking someone's boyfriend falls under that.
It's how she plays the fight with Shauna! Shauna wants to bring up that most problems were caused by Jackie hooking up with Travis, which Jackie follows with an uno-reverse card she now (thinks) she has in her hands
If I (Jackie) hook up with Nat's boyfriend (Travis), then the group takes Natalie's side. Therefore, if Shauna hooked up with my boyfriend, then they should take my side.
Tumblr media
And it goes so bad! Shauna outplays her by making the whole fight not about the cheating, but about their friendship as a whole, which Jackie has been viewing way differently and blinded than Shauna and the others. There's plenty of moments of Jackie "not reading the room" and either waving it off as the others being party-poopers or a lil mishap of her own.
Of course the big difference is that Jackie isn't really awkward in the highschool setting. She won homecoming queen for a reason, has many people looking up to her, and Coach Martinez probably made her captain for similar reasons. I guess what I'm going for with what's provided in Doomcoming is that Jackie lacks that "reading the room" skill (we can see it a number of times with Shauna in the pilot. In particular I'd say the Rutgers discussion, the boob dress, and telling Jeff to drop her off first) but makes up for it a lot by having a sort of manual of how to act in certain situations.
She's not seeing how Shauna might feel about her constant input on things. She's not seeing that others might orchestrate stuff outside of her knowledge. Nobody ever outright goes head-to-head with Jackie until the wilderness, and on good grounds there. If rescue isn't coming, we go to the body of water that's just been discovered. But the crash site is (ironically) safe. Whatever might happen if we leave it behind for something we're not even sure of?
It also doesn't look like Jackie has any (good) friends outside of Shauna. Might come with their years long codependence that nobody even wants to put themselves into, but also that with a captain position/being a generally popular high school student, she might not seem as approachable on a personal level. Jackie does make herself very open, and she's shown to be able to set up brief but very attentive conversations (Allie, Mari, Misty) but beyond that on a superficial level, there's not someone who she turns to when she suspects Shauna of something. Shauna's very obvious other friend is of course Taissa, but there's nobody out in the wilderness like that for Jackie.
and for some random bits:
Verbal stuff! The Beaches quote is peak, because who else would drop a line like that in such a moment. If Jackie's lying about not quoting it, then it does really speak of it being a hyper-focus movie (and we can also discuss why Shauna can recognize the movie from just the one line). But I think the possibility of it just being one of those phrases that you whip out like a vine quote, even if you've forgotten the origins of it
Presentation and maybe textures! Her luggage lacking skirts/dresses is… yeah. She wears a dress at the party in the woods and going to school with Shauna in the pilot episode, but besides the doomcoming dress, that's it. The article that says that while the others are already sharing clothes, Jackie sticks to her own wardrobe OR borrows some thing from Shauna (shoutout to the Doomcoming flannel!)

Spooky Month 6 predictions
So, as a non-patron, my access to sm6 teaser is very limited, but that's exactly what makes me so fascinated by what I can get of them.
After combing through the teaser, I've managed to construct an outline of the episode's plot.
I hope my fellow non patrons will enjoy reading this as much as I enjoyed putting it together.
LET'S BEGIN:
The episode begins with a typical spooky month set up with a montage of Skid and Pump running around town.
Some scenes in this segment are: Lila and Jaune are getting drunk together, the Kevin clip we got the other day and a scene with Rick and the cops at Gonuts, this sequence will likely introduce a new character or 2.
Most importantly, they come across the Hatzgang and Robert asks them to take something to his sister at the hospital.
After this, the boys come across Frank, who drops them off in front of the hospital at the same time as Gregor arrives, having been called by Patty to handle the Moloch situation.
At this point, we cut to a corner of hell where a New Demon (hereafter referred to as ND) realizes how long Moloch's been gone and decides to find him.
Back in the human world, the spookies try to follow Gregor into the morgue and briefly succeed, meeting a new mortician character, only for Patty to boot them out.
Afterwards they run into two men, one dressed in a Happy Fella costume and the other being the teased business man character, looking for the room of a severely ill girl who made request with a Make-A-Wish type group to meet Happy Fella, the boys assume the girl in question is Robert's sister, but she isn't and Rob's sister meets Happy Fella at the expense of a far more sick child.
Somewhere around this point we get a side plot involving the thieves looking for something hidden in the church, but their search leads them to the house of an old cat lady, this acting as the episode's major subplot. The item in question likely being cult related.
Back to the boys, we see that Robert's sister has many Happy Fella dolls, one possibly being possessed by Dexter, Skid and Pump naturally start destroying them.
Afterwards, they return to the morgue where Dexter's body has been cremated, releasing Moloch and letting him possess Gregor or Patty, either way, whoever he doesn't possess gets possessed by ND, who arrives at the perfect time start a demon fight! (which ends up being 2 bodies ragdolling in midair and occasionally smacking against each other)
Pump suggests they call Lila, but Skid says she told him she'll be busy, this is then contrasted with a scene of Lila and Jaune in full pisshead mode, when Jaune's husband calls to check up on them.
Then we get the climax of the boys (possibly with the presence of an angelic being) performing a double exorcism.
Annnd, that's it!
Special shout out to @crossover-enthusiast for helping my iron out some of these ideas.

I talk on here a lot hopefully I’m not weirding you out.
I’ve also rewrote parts of 2012 Tmnt. And I have questions!
So hold up lemme get my list.
First of!
Leo? Trans fem? If so, during what arc would she come out? I have my own ideas but I wanna know yours!
Ships?? (Bats eye lashes)
Ok ok next
Any new designs? Cause I have some for the krang and the big krang robot
Mmm what else… OOo!
Redesigns?
Any other plot points and stuff your adding on too?
I really really like hearing ideas about rewriting parts of 2012 .
Anyway hopefully I’m not weird or annoying! Please tell me if I should calm down on the asking (trust me I would not be offended)
-🪲
FUCK !! YESSSS I LOVE BEIN ASKED QUESTIONS DW IT HELPS ME ACTUALLY BRAINSTORM<3<3
yesss transfem leo :3 idk when she comes out but she doesnt rlly get time to think abt her gender until th farmhouse arc but that gets interrupted when they go back to reverse th invasion (i most recently watched th ep where bebop nd rocksteady got mutated so i only have like. a vague idea of what happens next lol) but i think maybe? it would be before the space arc?? god i need 2 keep watchin💀 YES. SHIPS. GOD OK SO. im a multishipper if its not obvious but fr this particular au/rewrite, im eventually gonna have lesbian aprilnardo bc idk they have a rlly good dynamic i think. side not raph nd april are absolutely besties they love talkin shit. there will also be timatello bc im giving tim an actual arc whattttt🤯🤯🤯🤯 anyway yea LOL timatello<3 altho itll just be pining nd they never get 2gether sadly :( srry th angst won nd someone maybe got a little bit shot😔 ill try to throw some jonatello crumbs in aswell maybe, idk torn between them nd rasey fr why does casey have so much game🤨 oh my god yes i want to ideally redesign all the characters tho idk if ill get around 2 EVERYONE but man im a fruit ofc im changin up these designs. i gave april braces nd freckles bc i think it suits her :3 i also wanna make th kraang in general more like. horrifying? probably not the early series kraang, but w aprils kraang dna in particulat i wanna delve deeper into horror teehee. also wanna make karai more well. shes a teenager bruh i think she shuld be allowed to have her emo era lol. im tryna wait until i get thru like majority of th show to mess w th plot points but some ideas i have involve showing more of the farmhouse arc, and considering a certain. lost limb😶(srry leo lol) itll take a bit longer fr them to get back 2 nyc. also jus gonna try nd fix th weird way 2012 did romance subplots?? why does leo hav a crush on her sister🤢 yea no instead she meets karai in civilian clothes nd they bond nd karai becomes like an older sister to her but then she has to betray leo fr shredder :( not super developed obvs but i think i jus wanted karai to wear trap pants and smoke weed lol. april also shuts down donnie rlly early bc shes a lesbian so shes like. bruh. also my recent art post idk what actually happens in mutant apocalypse but i was thinkin abt how interestin it wuld be if leo was captured by the kraang and used as an experiment bc of her unique mutations :3

cataloguing all my new books because I love doing this
my friend was in town last week, and having somebody visit reminded me that I can just. go places and do things whenever I want
so I went to three different bookstores, and I also ordered some online "just in case"
so. new this week:
Lumberjanes 1 & 2 (ND Stevenson & friends)- I read the first one earlier this year and liked it, but was a little confused? so I got the sequel to help me out with that!
Wheel of Time 4, 5, & 6 (Robert Jordan)- I'm already this far in. What more do I have to lose?
Echo (Pam Muñoz Ryan)- A fond memory! I was asked to review an advance copy of this book when it came out in 2015. At the time I was making fast friends with the local librarian, and she ended up asking me to review a lot of books after this, including The Box and the Dragonfly, my favorite book ever! I remember liking Echo a lot, and then it got the Newbery medal so I was probably right.
Hollow Dolls (MarcyKate Connolly)- I was looking for Monstrous, another book I reviewed around that time, but found out the author is still writing... about body snatchers apparently? How could I say no?
Edgedancer, Dawnshard, & Mistborn Secret History (Brandon Sanderson)- Found some nice hardcover editions of these three Sanderson novellas I love. I know Lift's not a popular character but she's one of my favorites <3
Power of Three, Omen of the Stars, & A Vision of Shadows (Erin Hunter)- Finally got myself Warrior Cats arcs 3, 4, and 5! I've never actually read AVoS so I'm very excited about that.
Onestar's Confession (Erin Hunter)- I don't actually like Onestar and I've heard this book isn't very good, but it's the only Super Edition any of the bookstores had...
Secrets of the Clans, Code of the Clans, & both Ultimate Guides (Erin Hunter)- The first two of these are a lot nicer than I expected! The full-color illustrations and fold-out maps are very welcome, and almost make up for Featherwhisker not being in the second Ultimate Guide >:(
A Thief in ThunderClan & The Rise of Scourge (Erin Hunter)- Rise of Scourge isn't my favorite but it's waaaay prettier in color. I've been excited about its release.
The Disappearing Spoon & The Icepick Surgeon (Sam Kean)- I love both these books! But I didn't own them for some reason... so I finally got them in paperback to match my other Sam Kean books.
Chasing Vermeer & Hold Fast (Blue Balliett)- The Wright 3, also by Blue Balliett, is one of the most well-thumbed books in my library! I finally got myself a copy of Chasing Vermeer, plus Hold Fast, which I've actually never read.
Gregor the Overlander (Suzanne Collins)- I don't actually remember why I put this on my reading list, but I'm really excited to try it out!
Nevermoor: The Trials of Morrigan Crow (Jessica Townsend)- One of you on my dash is really excited about this book, and I'm ready to get into it too.
The Constant Rabbit (Jasper Fforde)- I'm going to read Thursday Next eventually and I think it's going to thoroughly absorb me, so I figured I'd try some of his other books first! This one is about anti-rabbit bigotry, apparently.
Babel: An Arcane History (R.F. Kuang)- I'd been casually waiting for this to come out in paperback so I could try it without committing too much. We'll see how I feel about it!
The Thursday Murder Club (Richard Osman)- I love mystery series, especially big or ongoing ones, so I figured I should give this a try! Weirdly enough, I know Richard Osman from having been on Taskmaster, despite him being pretty thoroughly independently famous.
Legends & Lattes (Travis Baldree)- The premise intrigued me. I normally go for epic fantasy, so I'm not sure if I'll find this fun... depends on the quality of the storytelling and the presence of a romantic subplot (or, preferably, the lack thereof.)
The Hexologists (Josiah Bancroft)- My best friend told me about this, and it looked so ridiculous I just had to try it (/pos).
Raybearer (Jordan Ifueko)- I know almost nothing about this! But it was another friend's first recommendation, and if her taste is anything to judge by, I'm going to love it.
Gideon the Ninth (Tamsyn Muir)- Also new and exciting for me. I say I like to read fantasy, but I feel a little bad that most of that rests on Brandon Sanderson. So I'm trying some new fantasy authors!
Because Internet (Gretchen McCulloch)- I used to listen to her linguistics podcast a lot- "Lingthusiasm"- so for a long time I thought her last name was spelt McCullough. I'm sure she'd find that interesting.
The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue (V.E. Schwab)- I know V.E. Schwab has written a lot of cool-looking fantasy books, so I'm trying out a standalone from her to see whether I'd like to read more. Should be intriguing!
Watership Down (Richard Adams & friends)- This is actually a graphic novel adaptation of the original classic, which is a book I absolutely love. I got this for my grandma for Christmas, and I just couldn't resist getting my own copy!
This Is How You Lose the Time War (Amal El-Mohtar & Max Gladstone)- I do love time travel, and anything that scratches the DARK itch will be well welcome.
In the Lives of Puppets (TJ Klune)- After reading The House on the Cerulean Sea and Under the Whispering Door, I'm sure this will be lovely. I'd been eagerly awaiting its paperback release for quite a bit!
Yeah, I don't know why I did this. I love both reading and collecting books, and sharing them with people is quite the treat <3
I hope my 3 followers and cheezbot enjoy this!

💚 - unpopular opinion about a side/background character
i LOVE FLOYD!!!!!!!!!! specifically his cars1 design his cars3 design is generic asfuck. look at that little engineer go!! Bob Cutlass was treated wrong and im so mad about it. Cars 1 has a very specific generic-character shape language which is GREAT for background characters + i bet it saved a lot of production time! [look at crowd shots in cars 1 versus later media, like COTR or even Radiator Springs 500 1/2 ! the later media have a lot of actual car designs where cars 1 has almost none] but they USED that language for BOB CUTLASS!!! nd then they gave him the WRONG model name! Bob Cutlass is a prototype carburetted Nissan 350z [<- because theres no way he was born in fucking 1998 or whatever carfinder says he is]. they should have modeled him off a 350z instead of using the generic shape language. his mouth is positioned slightly too high and it always throws me off - red talks in the comics apparently and i dont appreciate that they retconned a mute character for the comics. i know i give Ratchet bubbles even tho hes mute but he is still using a codifier + his bubbles are different bc of that. they literally just went Oh yeah red talks bc we couldnt be assed. did my boy wrong
💙 - unpopular opinion about a ship/ships in general (keep it civil)
im so sorry lightningstrm fans i do not see it </3 they fucking hate each other lmao . also holley/mater was an Extremely unnecessary subplot and they have no chemistry. i love mcchicks

B3 was so badly planned out and written, when i think of b1 i think of the patrols the introductions and obviously Murphy, b2 being the apartment nd the drive to the carnaval and b3... ? I just think of the poorly written nd quite disrespectful plot of 'human trafficking but make it nice xxxx'. Mishka could have easily made it more respectful by actually writing it properly and not making it seem aesthetic. The whole book was messy and why was the blood drive basically the biggest issue in the book? The detective could easily avoid it, allowing for more space nd focus on the 'Bad guy'. It just felt very rushed. Do you think that the plot should have been altered so it makes more sense and make it more memorable or just scrapped altogether?
Coupling this with a similar ask:
Not to bring back twc3 but like I'm pissed that people are like "Well Book 1 had a dark topic too!" Like yes it did but we actually spend most of the time investigating and it was treated as serious situation you weren't out there having dates and shit while in book 3 up to 40 people got kidnapped and MC had like a few scenes were they were actually concerned for the victims and then we went back to having dates, flirting with you LI and getting drunk...It also seems that the public wasn't aware that people (They just thought it was the kid) were going missing?? And we didn't do anything solve the kidnappings? We just went to a party and that's it. How are people not seeing the difference??.
The thing that people don't get about the human trafficking vs kidnapping thing is that the detective, and by extension we, the player, are allowed to linger in the trauma of the detective getting kidnapped, and we also see the effect the murders have on the town and the people in Wayhaven. The PC is visibly traumatized by it, the town is terrified, and book 2 opens with a nightmare about what happened in book 1. Because yes, it is a traumatic event, and it was allowed to have the weight such an event would have in someoen's life.
Book 3 offers no such weight to the human trafficking subplot. It tries, but it fails in that it 1) centers the detective's feelings of guilt instead of the terror of what's happening and how it's affecting the VERY SMALL, INSULAR TOWN 2) said guilt doesn't translate because we're never allowed to actually see the effect the kidnappings are having on the actual people of Wayhaven. The guilt is always self-inflicted in a really boring, "heroic" way where the detective blames themself but nobody else does, beause we're never given any reason to believe the detective could've stopped anything cuz it's all off-screen. In book 1, the guilt feels earned, because people are dying on the detective's watch, while they're in charge of finding the killer, and we see the consequences of them failing (grieving parents, scared locals etc). Here, it's like "Oh ok ... I guess 40 people got got and this is my fault somehow? And nobody else is reacting at all or trying to do anything? How is this just on me at this point? I'm not in charge of the whole town of Wayhaven."
We're aware of things being bad on principle, but we're never actually shown it. Once the cutesy RO scenes and the blood drive nonsense comes back, it's all mostly forgotten.
If M!shka tries to make the detective seem traumatized from the events of book 3 in book 4, I will laugh, because it would be a huge copout. As previously stated, the most of the emotional impact on the detective from the human trafficking subplot comes at the expense of an unnamed NPC who they never interact with again, and this "emotional impact" is mainly used to get the PC and their RO into the shower together for some cheap Angst. Murphy felt like he had a tangible effect on the detective as a character, regardless of their RO's reaction. There was a perfect opportunity to have Addie be the main driving force behind the detective's actions, but she's completely forgotten and instead replaced by a different, unnamed victim that never gets another mention.
Which brings me to how I'd fix this, because I don't think it's unfixable: Sin attempts to kidnap Addie but fails for one reason or another. Have the detective meet Addie and her parents. Maybe have the parents ask the Agency to protect Addie, and she's put under UB and the detective's personal protection. The parents force the detective to promise to keep her safe. Have Addie form a personal connection to the detective, whatever it may be. Give the victims a face. It's a little kid, for god's sake! The easiest thing to sympathize with and adopt, you had it in your hands and you wasted it.
Anyway, then, let the parents get kidnapped in order to pull Addie and the detective closer to the main event. Maybe even have Sin attempt to kidnap Addie again, but settling for her parents when UB and the detective interfere, so you can have that interaction of Sin being remoreseful and the detective trying to understand his actions. Then, dealing with Addie's fear and how the detective handles a scared, sad child would be perfect character development, and that's before you include the squee-worthy pseudo-parental RO interactions that people love. And finally, Addie gets kidnapped, and that's what kicks off the climax. Throughout this, you can also remind the player that the detective gave her parents a promise to protect her, and that's what haunts them and makes them feel personally responsible when they fail.
This way, the "main" plot is a quiet story about protecting a kid, with plenty of setup for interactions with the ROs (and a good reason for the detective to move into the warehouse, as a bonus), while it's also explicitly connected to the larger plot affecting the town, and you're given a much more tangible, personal reason to want to stop these kidnappings aside from "kidnapping bad," because you don't want more miserable, traumatized Addies in Wayhaven, and your detective made an actual promise to keep her safe and presumably wants to keep said promise.
It's all right there. That's what's so frustrating about book 3. We could've had it aaaaa-aaall.

jack has been almost killed by every single soulless he's come across. (sky counts for this. strength slip-ups :)) gray mutilates his hand n makes him ingest a near fatal quantity of soulless blood. faye tears out his wings <3) vs jumie who just keeps running afoul of true rulers 5 times her size class with calling reina a b*tch to her face & then getting throatfucked by damia

daily ask pt. 20
Rapidly running out of ideas for GO, so asking a Marvel related question:
Are there any couples you don't like within the MCU? And are there any couples you headcanon?
i haven't rly been in the loop on mcu stuff since endgame tbh but yeah i have some opinions and the first is that pretty much every canon mcu ship is very. eh
some are tolerable, like pepper nd tony and peter and mj, but brutasha was ?????? so bad. like it could have been okay maybe if handled differently? but it just kinda came out of nowhere for the hot mess that was age of ultron (which i actually dislike less than the majority of the fandom, and think is better than iw and endgame at least) and disappeared lmao. i don't have anything against scott/hope BUT the first ant-man movie was looking so very beautifully no romantic subplot until the last moment (or maybe im just stupid) and then they just had to kiss in like the last scene?? like why. rmmbr that pissimg me off at the time. steve and shanon also feels not great and ofc him going back to peggy in endgame made me hate everything tbh
ok those are the ones i actively dislike for reasons now ships i like. easy. stucky. idk if ppl still use that word but they were def my hashtag otp back in the day . i was very unwell abt these two and prbly still could b reactivated like a sleeper agent by the right fanfic (my fav is prbly middle town, it's so wel written). i was also into clintasha back in the avengers 2012 days, still think they r qt . sambucky is also hilarious

Story
The story of Pokemon Storm Silver is the same as the original Pokemon Soul Silver game. The player character sets out on a journey through the Johto region to collect and train a team of Pokemon, defeat the eight Gym Leaders, and ultimately challenge the Elite Four and Champion to become the best trainer in the region.
Along the way, the player character encounters a variety of characters, including their rival, Team Rocket, and the legendary Pokemon of the region. The story also includes various subplots, such as helping the Kimono Girls, solving mysteries at the Ruins of Alph, and uncovering the story of the legendary Pokemon, Lugia and Ho-Oh.
While the main story of Pokemon Storm Silver is the same as the original game, the ROM hack includes several gameplay improvements and changes, such as increased difficulty, new Gym Leaders, and a larger variety of Pokemon available to catch and train.
Also, be sure to check out Pokemon This Gym of Mine!
