BIOGRAPHY:
TRIGGER WARNINGS: Death
The story of Matteo began long before his birth, back when the king was a prince himself. He was in love with a woman whom was very much not his fiancée. She became pregnant and like many aristocrats in that situation, they gave the baby away. The prince became the king and married his fiancée. An heir was born and the bastard child was all but forgotten by the king.
For the first ten years of his life, Matteo was not raised by his birth family. That honor went to humble herbalists. No one planned on telling Matteo about his adoption, particularly because of the scandal that could arise. He learned to brew potions and became fascinated with elementalists. His “father” was one, so Matteo insisted he would become one as well someday. He never noticed the obvious discomfort at the dinner table when he brought it up.
As just another village boy, Matteo was happy. He had enough to eat and a little sister. He played with the local children. His life was normal. Then, the queen died in childbirth.
There were whispers. No sooner had the mourning period ended than the king took on a new wife. His childhood sweetheart.
Once Matteo was older, he fully understood the situation. The new queen didn’t want to just be the stepmother to the future king. She wanted her child in the throne. After a year of trying to conceive with no avail, she remembered she already had a son. Matteo was technically the oldest sibling and if he was legitimized, he would became the rightful heir. Bringing him back would be the simplest way to cement her position.
The king agreed to the queen’s request and Matteo was snatched from his adoptive family. Though he tried to contact them, he was quickly told to forget about them. They weren’t his real family; the royal family was. Naturally, Matteo’s brothers did not take kindly to their sudden demotions. Though they tried to ignore their older brother, it was them who ended up fading into the background. Matteo was eager to do well, to make his family proud. Despite not being born into the castle, he quickly surpassed his brothers in swordsmanship, strategy, and political affairs.
Matteo couldn’t have his family’s love, but he could have their respect. He became a bit more arrogant with age. The fact remained that he was the best future king. He was hardly going to be shy about his accomplishments. Then his magic set in. At first, he felt special. After all, this just proved he was a Chosen One. Then, he realized that despite all his preaching of tolerance, his father was not ready to risk anyone of magical blood in the royal family. He wouldn’t even consider an elementalist marrying into it, much less the king becoming one. So, Matteo decided to keep it a secret and hone his powers away from prying eyes. One day, people will know. By then, there will already be a crown on his head.

Swear not by the inconstant moon, Celestine. You are the Good Witch in Aura. At 25, you are quite the perplexing immortal, especially with that air, fire, water, and earth magic.
Can you find your way out of the darkness?
OOC:
Name/Alias: Dee
Pronouns: she/her
Age: 21+
Timezone: EST
IC:
Biography Information:
Skeleton/OC Role: The Good Witch
Character Name: Celestine
FC: Lee Jieun (IU)
Species: Immortal
Status: Unaware
Gender: Cis-female
Pronouns: she/her, but as grand poobah of magic will also accept they/them
Age: Appears 25, real age unknown
Abilities: Water, Fire, Earth, and Air Magic
Original Fate: Loses all their magic protecting the fairy and is later killed by the evil witch.
Biography: tw for gentle mentions of child abandonment, murder, bullying and softly plotted treason.
Celestine as the world knows her is a powerful Witch, in control of all four elements, the sole caster of her kind and an irreplicable asset of the royal family. She is revered, respected even. And to all she meets she is a singular source of light, with a kind smile and soft spoken word. This is not the life she was born to, however. It is good to be different when that difference helps to save a kingdom. It is not good to be different when you are a child stumbling blindly into your powers for the first time, and realize that not only are you weaker than the children around you, but that you can also do things that they cannot.
To her family, a singularly powerful bunch of magic wielders in their own right, she was an embarrassment. A taint upon their good name. How could they have a child with an affinity for all four, but a strength in none? When they cast her from their home, it was in the hopes that she would do as all disowned children should, wander off and die a victim of crime or the elements. What no one could have expected was that she would wander off — but not to her death. Instead the young girl found herself in the arms of a strong Fire Witch, Shearah Naxxremis. And be it the peculiar gift of her affinities, or her kind, gentle nature, the Witch decided to take a single apprentice.
With a new name, and a new teacher, the child bloomed, slowly coming into the strength of her powers with practice and focus, and a little bit of care. After all, it took an immense amount of strength to force all four elements to do her bidding, particularly if she was calling on more than one; it was age more than anything, that lent her better precision and control. What Celestine didn’t know. Couldn’t know. Was that her dear, sweet mentor was not all that she seemed. For all her strength with fire, it was shadow that she was a true master of. A half-demon of the Darien Vale, on the run for her part in selling out the Demon King.
What was truly a tactic to keep them on the move, and under the radar, the young witch saw as adventure. A chance to grow and experience the Kingdom for all the splendors and wonders it contained. For many years, that was all it was. A Witch and her Apprentice, wandering wherever their souls guided them, experiencing different ways of life as they went. But Shearah had made powerful enemies, and it was only a matter of time before they caught up to them. And catch up they did, in the form of a shadow, an assassin of the Demon King who made his way between them, and left nothing but a corpse and the spark of a new, consuming flame in their wake.
This flame was the rage that spurred her powers, and that, when given the chance, guided her to help the Kingdom of Elestren overthrow the Dark Empress that had reigned upon its throne for far too long, every movement, every carefully plotted detail plotted to bring her one step closer to ruling a Kingdom of her own, of amassing a force unlike anything they had ever seen to lay waste to the Darien Vale and bring death to every citizen with the blood of her beloved mentor on their hands. She had traded a part of her soul for eternity, she had nothing but time.
Of course, that wasn’t exactly how her story ended. Instead, a new royal family was elected. No one could trust, sweet Celestine with her wicked magic to rule over them, magic was what had landed them in all this mess to begin with, wasn’t it? The rage that burned in her at this never faded, even after a decade of willing service to the royal family, playing the role of their hound, hunting and destroying any threat to their precious family, their precious power and their most precious Kingdom. And when the time came, she took apprentices of her own. More than she would have cared for, but it was expected of a caster of her status.
And thus, she let them weed each other. Pulling nasty tricks and pranks, all the while her interest in them weaned and waned like the sickly moon, deteriorating to nothing until all that was left was one sweet fairy worthy of the lessons she desired to teach. The Fairy. A pupil worthy of her gifts. Of her affection. Shearah may be dead, but what she had taught, never faded. And Celestine knew better than anyone that true magic flourished under the care of love, be it familial or otherwise, and The Good Witch, as she was now often called, had been longing for someone to care for as she had once done before. Not as mother and mentor as she had before, but as daughter, or younger sister. Someone who could stand at her side, trusted in all things.
In the end, the true end. It had all been for nothing. And under the guidance of the Author she had met her redemption, choosing to die to protect that singular love which she had allowed herself in all the world, rather than sacrifice her Apprentice for the sake of her own plans. In doing so, she had met her end. Maybe that was unfair, but there was a smile on her lips when the last of the blessed air had left her lips, and a lulling peace in her soul that she had never known...
But you’re all here because the story didn’t truly end, now did it? And all that is left to do, is return to the beginning of our story, when a Witch whose been scorned accepts a role for a Kingdom she was deemed unfit to rule. And see how the plot unfurls under the influence of new magic.

Swear not by the inconstant moon, Enoch. You are the Forgotten Child in Aura. At your advanced age, you are quite the daunting demon, especially with that shadow, water, and soul magic.
Can you find your way out of the darkness?
OOC:
Name/Alias: Krys
Pronouns: she/they
Age: 26+
Timezone: CST

Biography Information:
Skeleton/OC Role: the forgotten child
Character Name: Enoch
FC: choi wooshik
Species: demon [immortal]
Status: aware
Gender: cisman
Pronouns: he/him
Age: appears 31
Abilities: Shadow magic, water magic and soul magic
Original Fate: unknown
Biography:
Imagine you’re the sole heir of the demon king. An heir that would never be needed. It wasn’t as if the king was going to die. Why would one need to be named? Despite not being an heir, you are still, his soul son. there is only one of you. So, you find your purpose. Something to assist your father. Something to make him proud. Despite you not being the heir, there is no point to living in immortality without a purpose. Perhaps, that is where the trouble begins….
Enoch was the eldest son of the demon king. One that had not been spoken of as a son to the public since he was young, ages before. A son that had been with him for some time before the dark enchantress fell upon their doorstep. The same son who helped orchestrate the events that forced her and her little heir in their direction. All it took was a head tilt from his father, a smile and he knew what was needed. As one of his father’s most gifted assassins, infiltration was easy. A few well-placed deaths carefully crafted and executed had her moving exactly where his father wanted her. Who was he to tell his father no? it had been some time since his own mother had been around or alive. If his father wished to have someone sit upon the throne with him, then Enoch intended to make sure it happened.
Of course, that isn’t the end of the story. More time would pass. he would continue to do what was expected of him and allow the family dynamic to blossom. More often a shadow than a person, he didn’t even take the time to introduce himself as his only blood son… It wasn’t as if the elder wished to bond with a child or even the women his father clearly coveted. Perhaps he should have. Enoch may have seen the signs if he went more out of his way to speak to them, rather than only his father.
An accident, they said. How terrible. An accident had claimed the demon king’s life. An accident. Enoch put little trust in that investigation. His father had spent centuries living. Centuries of watching out for betrayal. But as far as his eldest son was concerned, in the end, he wasn’t watching well enough. Not being close to the dark enchantress made it easy for him to suspect her.
The distrust evolved, began to fester. Even as he introduced himself as simply, Enoch, a trusted assassin. He watched, he waited and eventually a time came where he could exact vengeance. The ghosts that hunted her in that maze, he called upon. Allowing them to taunt and bare down on her for eternity.
But things change and refresh. What matters is Enoch remains. The same soul, the same body. His hate festering into something much stronger over time. It grew from sibling punishing the dark enchantress, to wanting to tear her apart, piece by piece. but first, he would start with people she loved. Her son, and those he loved. Each of them torn to shreds while he bathed in their blood.
These ministrations would take time, and he has been biding it. To kill a strategist, one had to be willing to also be one. Patient. A watcher that had been watching for a very long time. One of the more important parts of Enoch’s plan was to obtain the solar and lunar magics. Rip them away if he had to. But in truth, previous enemies, old stories…. Most of them meant nothing to him. Only her. Only her treachery and her pain.
There is very little left within the forgotten demon prince. A child that turned into nothing within the entirety of the story. A fountain of anger and hate. But the forgotten becomes the unknown. The unknown can’t truly be planned for. Time had passed and Enoch had been waiting been waiting for. so. long….

Swear not by the inconstant moon, Feya/Rara. You are the Fairy in Aura. At 27, you are quite the breathtaking human, especially with that fascinating earth and solar magic.
Can you find your way out of the darkness?
OOC:
Name/Alias: Lian
Pronouns: She/Her
Age: 26+
Timezone: Est
Biography Information:
Skeleton: Fairy
OC Name: Feya / RaRa
FC: Dilraba Dilmurat
Species: Human
Gender: Female
Pronouns: She/Her
Age: 27
Abilities: Earth and Solar Magic
Biography:
"There seemed to be
Two worlds.
The one before and
After you."
'Science' was her first word, or so her mother said every time someone asked. Not 'mama' or some gibberish mumbling. It was difficult to believe, suspicious to say the least, but her mother's story was so convincing and rich in details that no one would doubt it, so RaRa never did. She was taught very early in life that one doesn't question elders.
RaRa was the only child in her small family. Her parents decided to bring a baby into the world late in life after accomplishing their personal goals in their scientific careers, and when it seemed the right time for their ultimate experiment; parenthood, they were blessed with a girl.
Family rules were easy — easily said than done— respect your elders, do not question what is expected of you, and reason over imagination. RaRa grew up challenging her own vision of life and tried her best to become what her parents wished for her, following their path and devoting herself to the sciences. Yet, a part of her puzzle got lost in translation. In between a girl's hopes and the strings pulling her down to earth, chemistry and numbers never filled the missed part in Rara's heart. From time to time, she found herself fantasizing as soon as her head hit the pillow at night. Dreams of freeing herself from what she never chose in the first place, when suddenly, she woke up in a world she couldn't place and was called a name she had never heard before.
As if her wishes were coming true, she no longer was "RaRa, Master's degree in science" but Feya, a disciple of some superior being still couldn't understand well. Lost in a world that was not hers, where all her beliefs were being challenged by magical surroundings. The new Feya tried her best to fulfill her dreams within a dream, or so she thought.
Long Story Short,
Feya is aware she is in a new world where she doesn't belong but never read the original story. She is oblivious to being the center of the tale and what is to come.

Swear not by the inconstant moon, Lady Cecilia/Lee Minsoo. You are the Rival in Aura. At 28, you are quite the stubborn human, especially with that wild fire magic.

Age: 28 (30 when isekai’d; now 31)
Abilities: Fire Magic
BIOGRAPHY:
TRIGGER WARNINGS: CAR ACCIDENT, SEXISM, BULLYING
Lee Minsoo was born in Daegu, South Korea and promptly lived an unassuming life. As a girl from a working class family, she dedicated herself to her studies. By the age of thirty, she was a head librarian and was known for being a strict boss. Both her parents passed years prior, she had no children, and very few friends. There were also no romantic prospects in her life. In fact, she was once told by a matchmaker that she was a “difficult sell” despite being fairly pretty. She was often smarter than her blind dates and didn’t bother hiding it. She was never called back.
Unfortunately, for Minsoo, what she lacked for in friends she made up for in enemies. The final moments of Minsoo’s life involved a disgruntled former employee and Minsoo being pushed into the street. The last thing she saw was a car barreling towards her.
With that, Minsoo’s life was over.
A disoriented Minsoo woke up as twenty-seven year-old Cecilia, a minor villain in Aura. The book was barely a blip in her memory, as it was something that was recommended to her by a teenage patron. This meant it took her a while to get her bearings and even longer to accept that she was not having a vivid hallucination. She spent nights muttering to herself, scaring her fellow disciples. Everyone was concerned that she had suffered from a head injury during training. In reality, she was just trying to remember all she could about Cecilia.
Cecilia, unlike Minsoo, was born into money. However, she was disowned by her family after refusing a marriage prospect and deciding to become a disciple under the Good Witch. She was never as talented as the Fairy, but Minsoo could not help but respect her. Well, excluding the various methods she used to bully her fellow disciples. One of Cecilia’s major plot points was how often she sabotaged those who surpassed her in any way. By the time Minsoo entered her body, everyone was already afraid of her.
While Minsoo as Cecilia is still terrifying, most of her fellow elementalists seem to prefer this version of her. After all, Minsoo is much calmer than Cecilia, if still hardworking and anti-social. She is just as dedicated to magic as her body’s former occupant and has made good use of Cecilia’s natural talent. She is hoping her magic can keep her alive this time.

Biography: Death TW, Cancer TW, Divorce TW, Coma TW
song hua was a boy born with a before, but never an after. there was only a short amount of time that was filled with blissful ignorance. before him and his family knew. before hospital beds and countless treatments. his life would become more painful and uncertain than he could ever imagine… with no end in sight. at least not one a child would ever want. but there was a time before. in that time before he was like any other young boy. curious and adventurous. the entire world at his fingers tips but he was more than happy to simply spend as much time on his grandparent’s farm in rural china than within hong kong. out there, he could build his own world. fight demons and dragons. save whoever he could and live well.
that lasted until he was thirteen. having always been a bit of an easily tired boy, hua was determined to still have fun. but one day, that fun on a warm summer day led to him collapsing…
soon there were grim faced doctors explaining things he didn’t totally understand but watch his mother and father cry over. they told him, he wouldn’t make it beyond the age of fourteen, fifteen, sixteen... every year was new life expectancy and every year it was his parents trying so hard to fight the battle for him. he never liked that they called it a battle. hua was tired. so tired. but every visit of his parents he put on a smile. did his best not to look as tired as he felt. every inch of his body was uncomfortable. every muscle and every bone stretched to the limit, but still, he smiled.
one escape was reading. no longer could he have his own adventures, but he could read about others doing so. his favorite stories always being about knights and warriors. as long as they won the battle. won against the evil trying to destroy what they loved. that’s what hua was looking for.
with each test and each new experimental treatment and so on and so on, all he wanted to do was win. in some ways he was winning. hua had outlived the expectations of the doctors around him. surviving years of pain and sickness to make it to the next year. survived his family falling apart in front of his eyes while he was trying to remember what it was like to live before everything. of course, this couldn’t last forever. his body couldn’t last forever… that didn’t stop him from trying.
his mother begging him to try a new treatment. something they hadn’t done before. he could never deny her. she was the only one that still visited and showed that there was love on the outside of the sterile hospital he had been stuck in for so long. the doctors warned them of potential side effects, especially on someone who’s body had been working so hard for so long. but it could be worth the risk? couldn’t it?
hua didn’t think it would rob him of one of the only things he had left, his consciousness…
waking up in aura, at first, seemed liked a dream. living the type of life that he had always read about. fighting a fight and finally winning. it took time for it to dawn on him. that there was more to it than just a dream. it was slow at first, but huw began to recognize names, plot points, people…out of all the stories he had read, why did it need to be aura? why did it need to be the knight, rowan?
rowan had fought, and he fought hard for the people and the land that he loved. he loved from afar and work so hard to protect them all. but he didn’t win. not really. not for himself. still, good triumphed over evil and it had to mean something…
but being rowan wasn’t something he was necessarily good at, at first. a man with a moral code, an understand of the world that never seemed to faulter. was tested in darkness and always held true to himself, it was a damn fairy tale. how was someone to live up to that? how was someone supposed to stand tall no matter how much they hurt?
it was only one moment of panic, of running. of trying to get away from it all that hua found himself in the forests of elestren. hiding as deep as he could go without completely being swallowed. until he realized that it was like he was being swallowed. the trees, the bushes, the very earth beneath his feet was weaving and helping him hide as he wished. he was gone for days, hidden in his own little place that he created. hua didn’t remember when earth magic had ever been mentioned in the book regarding rowan, but there it was. comforting and shifting to his will. it was in that silent comfort, that he came to a decision.
for all of his life, he wanted the opportunity to do something. be someone. prove that he was worth all of his mother’s love. all of the doctor’s time. in aura, he was being given the chance. even if he was afraid. of course, he was. but maybe, it wasn’t never being afraid but what a person did with that fear…
even if it was a dream or if it was real. all hua knew was that he wanted to do better. be better. rowan’s body was fit, taken care of. it could handle being pushed. so, he vowed to himself, under the cover of the forest, to be rowan. live up to his legend. live up to everything he ever thought about it.
it had been odd that he had disappeared for a week as rowan, but slowly he made it part of his routine. something like ‘reacquainting himself with nature’. once it became a norm, no one questioned it again.
more importantly, when he saw the fairy for the first time, rowan didn’t question his decision either.

For Willhelm, life always centered around his mother. To be fair, so did the lives of most of the Darien Vale, but Willhelm always held a special connection with her. She was his only family and one of his few companions outside the castle’s skeletons and crotchety butler. Neither were the best to have around as a child.
Willhelm’s origins are all smoke and mirrors. It is often brought up that he doesn’t look much like his mother (which he resents and disagrees with vehemently). However, people in the Darien Vale learned to keep their mouths shut in hopes of no one’s heads rolling.
It was during one of these particular incidents that Willhelm learned who it really was that had animated the skeletons in the castle. Like everyone else he had assumed it was some long passed necromancer. However, that wasn’t case. The powerful being that had reanimated so many skeletons was a baby Willhelm. Bored and lonely as a child, he had made companions for himself. Since then, he has let the rumors continue, instead focusing on using his shadow magic in public. After all, why give the enemy the upper hand?

Age: True age unknown, appears to be in her early 30s.
Abilities: Shadow Magic and Water Magic
Biography: (TW: Child abuse/neglect, arson, murder)
The origin of the Dark Witch is a thing of legend. Countless tales about who she was before she took the throne for her long reign have been made over the years, but in the end no one claims to know the truth. Adalheidis has done a lot to keep it that way. Before she became Aware, it was simply the obvious thing to do. What villain does not try to hide how they came to power?
Heidi was born an illegitimate daughter to a minor noble. Of course, nothing is that simple. Heidi’s mother was not human in the slightest, but rather a powerful demon with grand plans for her child. However Heidi’s father grew scared someone would find out about his affair, and brought his forces to slay the demon. Afterwards, he claimed the infant Heidi was a child the demon had kidnapped and graciously offered to adopt as his own. Thus began Heidi’s life as a kinda-but-not-really bastard daughter of a noble.
Like one might expect in a world like Elestren, being a bastard is not a kind existence. Heidi quickly made herself fade into the background in order to survive, living a life more akin to a servant than a noble. On the bright side, this gave her ample time to practice her magic. She realized at an early age that her command over the dark was not something normal, and thus only showed her mediocre aptitude for water magic in public. The years went on and on, each season like the last one, until she came of age and finally had enough.
She confronted her father about her heritage - her powers, who her mother was, why he allowed her to be treated like this. It was a conversation accompanied by crashes of thunder and heavy rainfall. Eventually her father let the truth slip. Not all of it of course, but more than enough for her to finish the puzzle. Exactly what happened that night in the study is a mystery faded to the ages. All anyone knows is that suddenly the small manor caught on fire, and even with the weather in their favor, it burned to the ground. “Magic” was of course the whisper on everyone’s lips. Heidi’s father, and the rest of his family, and no small amount of enemies.
The only survivors were Heidi and a few servants that had lived in the outhouses surrounding the manor. While on the surface, the scorned bastard daughter was a good suspect, everyone knew that Heidi was a gentle and shy soul with no friends or admirers willing to go to such lengths. The titles and lands were passed to a relative, and the manor grounds became a ghost story. As for Heidi, no one was really sure what happened to her. The most common theory was that she was married off to someone, or that she eloped. “Such a tragic fate”, they whispered in the same breath that not once spoke in her defense.
What happened in between that moment and the one where a young lady known as Adalheidis appeared in the capital is unclear. Most historians consider this the first recorded appearance of the Dark Witch, although the details (like most of her life) is highly disputed. At this point in time she was a master of shadow magic, able to manipulate shadows in alleys and human hearts with a twitch of her fingers. Through this, as well as some clever political manipulations, she came to sit on Elestren’s throne as the undisputed and eternal Empress.
The years became centuries and Adalheidis showed no signs of time holding any grip on her. She stayed the same as she had when she ascended the throne, both in appearance and temperament. Advisors came and went, as did lovers. The only thing that stayed was the slight smile on her lips as she spoke soft words of cruelty. Resentment and unrest grew by each passing season, and culminated in an otherwise insignificant year. It was the year the Dark Prince was born. Most believe that he is the child of the Dark Witch (usually by the demon to which she swore a covenant), which is what she happily lets them believe. After all, the truth is much more human and filled with emotions.
Even after leaving her old self behind, Adalheidis did keep tabs on her family just in case. She’s always been the paranoid son. When she heard whispers of a bastard son being taken in, the memories suddenly became too raw and she rushed there under the soft light of the lonely moon. She saw in the child the same thing she had discovered in herself, that touch of darkness. There was not a moment she hesitated, as she grabbed the child from his crib, erased the memories of the family and servants, and took him to raise as her own in the palace.
This was a big change. An heir hinted at the fact that the Empress once believed eternal might not rule forever. The people of her court started choosing sides, fighting amongst themselves, either to support this new powerful player, or to take his place. This was the moment the rebels had waited for. As morning broke, there was fighting all over the capital and her side was losing rapidly. Adalheidis, with her new son in her arms, fled to the Darrien Vale and into the arms of the Demon King. He had courted her, or tried to at least, for centuries and was glad to take them both in.
Initially she was happy to be a co-ruler, being able to focus more on giving her son the childhood she never had. That was of course until she realized her new husband didn’t like the fact that her heir was not of his blood. She’d barely seen the hint of that shadow in his heart before his headless body dropped to the floor, head dangling in her hands. Thus she once again was the sole monarch of a kingdom. and life continued as it always had. Until it didn’t.
She can’t pinpoint the exact moment she started awakening. It was small details that didn’t make sense, things that were too easy to accomplish, and opponents that suddenly grew a spine. As the sun set below the horizon, a letter from one of her spies in the capital telling her of yet another ball soon to be held, she realized the truth. Since then she has been vigilant to the extreme, and noticing all inconsistencies in the people around her. Some of the lies and obvious traitors that she had not seen because the story would not allow her simply horrified her. As did some of the decisions she had made during both her reigns.
For now she is biding her time, as she has noticed some other players of the story moving in weird ways. As the final villain, she is confident in her ability to survive. However, what does she want? The story had her goals and motivations neatly lined up, but that person is no longer her. The one thing she knows is that this story will not have a happy ending.

Swear not by the inconstant moon, Taliesin/Ahn Hyunjae. You are the Bard in Aura. At 26, you are quite the opportunistic human, especially with that treacherous oracle magic.
Can you find your way out of the darkness?

Biography:
by all accounts, ahn hyunjae had led a successful, though short, life. part of south korea’s biggest idol groups, hyunjae rose to fame with the other members of well-respected and globally loved boy group imaginair. beyond being just a member of imaginair, hyunjae was also responsible for composing a none-too-modest portion of the group’s discography, something especially worth bragging about considering his company’s high standards. he lived and breathed music, writing, and performing, even in harder times when his passion would wane. but even in those times, his ever-growing fanbase would be there to help lift him back up.
but even a legion of fans pledging undying loyalty to their bias could not hold back the backlash brought on by back-to-back scandals and years of undue criticism of his skills and background as a rapper. public disapproval and hate would pile up in response to things out of hyunjae’s control, and he became well-acquainted with the ugly side of the idol life.
at the age of twenty-six years, before having the chance to finally prove his worth as a rapper and an artist, ahn hyunjae would pass away in a car accident. and that’s where his story would have ended, as far as he would ever know—at least, it would have, if he hadn’t been flipping through a copy of aura that had been gifted to him at the fanmeet just before the accident.
instead, a horribly confused hyunjae would find himself waking up in the kingdom of elestren, a fictional kingdom he’d only vaguely recalled from his memory of the book pages he skimmed in the “real” world. for a while he thought he was in limbo—then considered maybe he ended up in hell. when he received his first vision, he knew this had to be punishment for something.
taliesin the oracle, as he now found himself to be called, was a self-proclaimed seer. he had visions of the future and performed tales of caution through the clever medium of song. though the title of seer was self-proclaimed, taliesin’s visions were very real.
early in the aura book, taliesin’s visions would foreshadow important plot elements. his songs would serve as prophecies meant to clue in the reader to the upcoming twists and turns the story would take. however, taliesin would largely disappear from the story as the reader continued, a disregarded part of a larger narrative. he faded into the background until he was forgotten altogether.
for someone as self-important as ahn hyunjae, he refused to let himself fade away so easily—especially when he continued to suffer from these visions. taliesin may be content to let the story unfold around him, but hyunjae’s aim is to use his powers to have an impact on the narrative. even if this world isn’t real, he will make himself an important figure. working his way up from a bar performer, hyunjae seeks to gain an audience from the crown prince or the fairy, understanding them to be the main characters of the story. perhaps if he can lead the story to a good ending instead of a bittersweet tragedy, he can earn his way back home.

Swear not by the inconstant moon, Alistair/Kim Jaehyun. You are the Lackey in Aura. At 28, you are quite the vindictive human, especially with that secret agenda of yours.
Can you find your way out of the darkness?
OOC:
Name/Alias: Melody
Pronouns: she/her
Age: 25+
Timezone: cst
IC:
Biography Information:
Skeleton: The Lackey
OC Name: name before rebirth (Kim Jaehyun), after rebirth (Alistair)
FC: Park Jinyoung Got7
Species: human
Gender: male
Pronouns: he/him
Age: Jaehyun (age 22), Alistair (Age 28)
Abilities: none
Biography:
Jaehyun grew up in a poor home in California. His parents were both immigrants to the United States. As such they had a hard time fitting in with the rest of their community at times. Jaehyun, however, had no problems blending in with the crowd. He was an average looking boy with thick glasses and no notable talents. Unfortunately, Jaehyun was a frequent target of bullies. He escaped from his problems by reading fantasy novels. In them he pretended to be the hero saving the world from villains. The bullying continued through high school into college. Jaehyun hoped that people would grow out of their bullying phase by college, but after being the target of a fraternity prank he gave up on his dream of living a bully free life. His life was tragically cut short after being pushed into the path of a truck by someone who randomly despised him.
Or did it?
Jaehyun quickly awoke realizing that he was trapped in the world of one of his favorite novels. Finally, he had the chance to be a hero, but his heroic dreams died the second someone called him Alistair. Instead of being a hero, he was trapped in the body of Alistair a traitorous man severing the dark witch. Jaehyun hated Alistair. His devotion towards the dark witch never made sense to him. As much as he wanted to never get involved with the dark witch, Alistair had already begun serving her, and he was living his best life as a double agent. Cutting ties with the dark witch would end his life, and Jaehyun didn't want to die just yet.
Perhaps there was still a way of being a hero of sorts despite his role?
Jaehyun used his close proximity to the nobles to steal for them giving whatever he stole back to the poorest citizens of the land. While Jaehyun still performs his role as an informant to the dark witch, he's less loyal to her choosing instead to serve his own self instead of blindly following the role given to him in the book. Maybe, just maybe, he'll be able to overturn his fate making it to the end of the story.
