Gearing up for artfight, here's a new ref for a very old character! Müri(any pronouns) is part of a godly pantheon, being the god of mischief, mystery, and mayhem, among other things. The black and white markings aren't fixed, their skin shifts like a chameleon and can even turn invisible.
The very original drawing of him under the cut!

Poly + ACOTAR Week Prompts 2025
Tumblr media
Day 1 - 4/6: Whose court is it anyway?
This can go so many ways! What was your groups courtship like? Who courted who? Are they from different courts, and if so how does that affect their relationship?
Day 2 - 4/7: Reveal
Who, or what is being revealed? Is it a flirtatious move or a serious conversation? You tell us!
Day 3 - 4/8: Will there be enough room?
Many of our favorite tropes are written with a pairing of two: grumpy/sunshine, golden retriever/black cat, enemies to lovers, the other male/female. How do they change when there’s more than two? How does your group of four or five fit in that inn’s only one bed? Take these tropes and flip them on their heads, or expand them for a larger group!
Day 4 - 4/9: Alternate Universe
Maybe it’s an alternate world, or a retelling of how canon would change if there were a larger romantic group. Perhaps your group is reminiscing on what could have been. What world will your group travel to?
Day 5 - 4/10: Memories and History
What is your group remembering and why? Maybe it’s a memory of a favorite experience, or a painful one.  Is it a former partner, the day they chose to get together?
Day 6 - 4/11: Courage
What does courage mean to you, or to your group? Courage to live freely, courage to go on an adventure, courage to try something new? The world is your oyster!
Day 7 - 4/12: Why Choose?
Welcome to free day! Pick your favorite prompt ideas or tropes and mash them together, or take it literally and create a why choose scenario for your group.
We can't wait to celebrate with you this April! Please feel free to reach out with any questions.

I found a vendor selling crocheted dice bags at Comic-Con yesterday and felt like its design might work well as a backpack for one of my D&D OCs, Nazri Minos. It ended up working out so much better than I ever could have imaged!!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It’s like it was MADE for her! The bag even had to side pockets that I was able to put Nazri’s hammers into. It looks so good!!

Review: The Grip of Death (Arcane Hearts Book 8) by Nazri Noor
Rating: 4.5🌈 The Grip of Death does it job! It pulls together all the many fabulous characters, various universes, and multiple storylines to give the long term romance of Jackson Pryde and his fiancée, Xander Wright, the wedding of Jackson ‘s wildest dreams and end the series longest running mystery.  That’s a lot of elements and stuff to jam into one book. Because at eight books, this couple…

I am so late to the party lmao the wage cage has hands this week BUT. This is so cute and reading through the responses was nice 🥺
Nazri Mercar has a couple of hobbies!
Their family of origin ran a bakery in Ventus and they had been helping out until they were like 10 and then things went sideways hah. But even through life with the Mercars / Their time in the circle / Life as a Shadow Dragon they kept at it. So they're a habitual bread baker! The whole process is kind of grounding for them? And sometimes they put their pent up anger into Kneading Dough. It's not uncommon to hear them grumbling "fucking dread wolf" while punching the bowl.
They like to read, Bellara & Lucanis end up getting them hooked on that 8 book series they banter about.
They also occasionally play piano! It's not a regular hobby- they have to be in a specific mood for it. They initially were kinda forced into learning. Their magic came in a little later (13ish) and Mercar thought developing a good sense of rhythm would help them out. He was right about this, but it meant it was a begrudging start hah. Now that they're much older, it can be a nice way to occupy their hands and mind when there are Too Many Thoughts.
They also weight lift. Really went all in on combat mage rather than Good At Theory mage.
Boooooo 👎🚫🙅🙅🙅🌩️ Monday
Yaaay 🎉🎊🎈🙆🙆🙆😁 Rook Intro Hour!
How it works: I ask you a question about your Rook(s) and you answer it with as much brevity or verbosity as you desire. You can do this whenever you want, and I’ll reblog it + add some comments! There’s no time limit— if you want to do the older ones, they are collected here! (The post is updated on Fridays!)
Today’s Question(s): What does your Rook like to do for fun? Do they have creative hobbies? Do they join the book club, or do they like more physical recreation? Both?
Thanks for sharing !

Review:  All Out of Flux (Stolen Hearts Book 3) by Nazri Noor
Rating : 4.5🌈 All Out of Flux is the final book in Nazri Noor’s Stolen Hearts trilogy.  In this story, brujo witch Leon Alcantara and mage Max Drake are still in pursuit of the Quartz Spider , a time mage who threatens existence itself.   Noor’s narrative has been building up to this, including the amazing sea dragons that inhabit Leon for a spell in exchange for powerful magic.  This element…

“I’d Rather Be ‘Childish’ Than an Old Man Who Bootlicks for Power!” Akmal to Nazri Aziz
UMNO Youth Chief Datuk Dr. Muhamad Akmal Saleh fired back at former Malaysian ambassador to the U.S., Datuk Seri Mohamed Nazri Abdul Aziz, who accused him of securing his state Exco position through sycophancy. Akmal insisted that he was elected by the people, not by pleasing leaders, and noted that Nazri had not contributed to his campaign. Childish Nazri had earlier criticized Akmal as…

Near the end of many of our weekly conversations, I ask Yashayaie variations of the same question: How can one hold revolutionary idealism, the belief that collective action can lead to the betterment of society, to such lofty concepts as “equality” and “justice,” when the movement’s romanticism has long fizzled out? As he listens he holds a sugar cube between his teeth and sips tea loudly, a talent unique to men of the old teahouses.
“God created the world in six days, supposedly, and we are still trying to make it better,” he replied once, before taking down the Book of Genesis from his library and reading its depiction of the Fall. “Because man is inherently flawed—and will always be seeking change,” he proclaimed, his head of thick, wavy white hair as smooth and resilient as freshly piled snow on a rooftop. Every generation can find a place to seek improvement over the status quo, he insists. “The question is the decisions you will make if and when you find yourself in that place.” (...)
What remains of Jewish life in Oudlajan today—a number of synagogues and a public bath adorned with rich wall carvings and intricate mirror work—exists mostly as destinations for walking tours. Yashayaie and a group of a dozen Jewish men who were born in the neighborhood still drive there every Shabbat morning to worship. Journalists and tour guides often ask Yashayaie whether they can see a Shabbat service, and when I make the same request he sticks to the script and invites me to Ezra Yaghoub Synagogue, the oldest that still survives in Oudlajan.
Muslims and Zoroastrians also lived in the Oudlajan of Haroun Yashayaie’s childhood, known as a Jewish neighborhood. Relationships were mostly cordial, defined by distance and respect, he says. On Shabbat, Muslim neighbors would turn on the lights of the synagogue. His brother helped Muslim neighbors cook nazri—food made for public distribution during Ashura, when the Shi’a mourn the death of Hussein ibn Ali, the grandson of Prophet Muhammad.

I think you can even read the shadows relationship with Rook Mercar as being kind of tense out the gate too. Tarquin's delivery of "I didn't think we'd be seeing you again" (paraphrasing) the first time you visit Dock Town with Neve to meeeee sounded a little hostile. Like the Nessus job had put Rook on pretty thin ice. And after what they see as perhaps a second betrayal Rook is just iced out.
I keep harping on this but the Shadow Dragon's rebuke of rook when rook is a shadow dragon who picked treviso is so like. whole and unending. you save viper from the venatori and he talks about the shadow dragons like you aren't one of them anymore. you dont see tarquin or dorian or mae again until the end of the game. the companions say "it must be hard for the shadow dragons in minrathous" to you. neve says "I don't expect you to show up for dock town, rook" and it hurts because nobody else does either. nobody else WANTS you to anymore. but they'll take what you give them!
