Obscure Sophie Foster HeadCannons? 🤭

I genuinely suck at doing headcannons so I hope this scratches your brain anon

1) sophie hates fish. she hates those little bones in fishes and how she would accidentally bite on them back when she was still living with her human parents

2) I think sophie would really like those gloomy aesthetic type of weather. I know she loves living in eternalia with those sparkly buildings but just imagine her walking through a gloomy field with airpods on. that's my girl fr

3) "is sophie a cat or a dog person?" NEITHER! I just know she's the type of girl to keep really weird pets around like a tarantula, iguana, bearded dragon etc. I mean...iggy is a really, really weird version of a skunk so there's that

4) she definitely listens to nightcore 😭😭 I know she's a metal girlie but I accidentally listened to angel of darkness on tiktok and my first thought was, "wow this is so sophie foster"

5) she straight up eats coffee beans. I know she does.

One of the biggest unanswered questions—to me—coming out of Nona the Ninth is..... Did Kiriona really think John would make her his cavalier if she opened the Tomb and dispatched Alecto?

It seems highly unlikely. I don't doubt she would want it, if she thought the offer was both genuine and possible to achieve, but those are some big ifs.

She was present for the fight that revealed Alecto as John's cavalier. She was there when John broke his amiable facade to say don't call her a monster. She knows first-hand what it is to share a part of your soul with someone. And we're meant to accept she believed John wanted Alecto dead? Doubt.jpg

But let's say she did believe that. John told a super convincing story, and she wanted so badly to believe someone loved her more than that slab of freezer meat. Whatever. The "possible to achieve" hurdle still looms large. Kiriona saw her father survive being reduced to atoms, she knows his cavalier is the source of that power, and she heard him say that what sleeps in the Tomb is "as dead as [he] could make her" and that she's "not the dying kind." And Kiriona was going to kill her with.... what? A rapier? Her knuckle knives? Because John said her blood was so super special, it would work just for her? Come on.

Kiriona—Gideon—is not that gullible. She grew up at war with Harrow. She grew up literally hunted for sport by the House Marshall. She considers angles, she tests motives, and she looks before she leaps. She expects to be betrayed, used, and discarded, and John made a hell of a first impression in the betrayal category. I believe she loves her father. I believe she'd do just about anything if she thought it would make her father love her. But blind trust? No way. She may or may not be a good judge of character, but she's definitely a skittish son of bitch.

And that's not even touching all the logical holes in her story—she stowed away to New Rho so she could open the Tomb? Girl what?—and the way she dropped the idea as soon as Ianthe pushed her to admit she was really there for Harrow.

Actually, you know what. I take it back. My biggest unanswered question isn't if Gideon believed any of it. There's no way. What I want to know now is whether John ever really asked her in the first place, or if it was all just a load of hot garbage she ad libbed to avoid mentioning Harrow to Ianthe. The implications either way are voluminous for the shape of the story to come, and I honestly can't rule either option out with the information we have.

A: Once you’re together…very. Because of your history, they’re terrified you’ll wake up and realize how shitty they are and how much better you deserve.

Phae: They’re not jealous, but they are territorial. People can hit on you all they like, Phae knows it won’t go anywhere. They will make a point of being very touchy with you and rubbing it in the poor sap’s face, though.

Nav: They don’t really notice when people hit on you, quite honestly. They’re usually too busy with you to ever notice anyone else lmfao. If someone was persistent enough to get Nav’e attention, they would very quickly want to loose said attention.

Will: At first…pretty jealous. He’s a human servant and you’re beautiful and surrounded by beautiful, rich fae and how can he compete with that? Later on, as he gets to know you and your relationship solidifies, he copes a lot better and realizes you really do want him.

Saf: She’d put an arrow or two through someone if they’re pushy enough, to be quite honest. Only if they’re making you uncomfortable, though. Otherwise, she doesn’t really care; you want her and she wants you.

No but for real, I very much enjoyed it. I picked up on the tomfuckery pretty quickly, I even figured out what exactly had happened and why it was formatted like that. I've never thought so hard about a book before I'm gonna be real. It was so fun piecing things together. The reveal????? The point of view changes??? Oh man. MAN. It was wonderful. The fact that she was there the whole time. Augh.

That ending hurt. Obviously not as bad as Gideons book. But man. Harrow in her tomb and Gideon... somewhere. They didn't even get to speak again :( and it hurts. Gideon dying again, maybe, thinking that Harrow didn't want her but really the only reason she was still there was because Harrow loved her and wanted her too much. Sobbing. Its about grief and letting go and moving on and how you can't hold ghosts forever. I still need to write that post about Harrow and how I feel about her, this def gave me more ammo. Augh.

And now I have to buy Nona the Ninth so I can figure out where they put my girls. I miss them already.

Thank you Nav this was really touching. 🫂 I'm glad that people enjoy the questions and I strive to be a mostly positive person some days that's a little more difficult than others. But I do genuinely love seeing everyone's work and the passion and thought that they have put into it. There are countless stories put there and finding out the small details that are overlooked can be a fun part of getting to know the story while it's being worked on. The writing community is a wonderful place to hang out and I think we can all agree on that. Thank you for the appreciation post it really means a lot to me.

logically i know navigator is a character we will see very little of because his whole gimmick is being a mysterious messenger and he has to be careful about who he reveals himself to because once tviking finds out, everything gets called into question (including "hey ruby how long did you know about this and why did you hide it from me") and he doesn't even really like being here because he hates talking to sapphire and outright told her they will not speak again. plus theres a lot of other things about tviking we barely know anything about and hes one big puzzlebox we need to figure out how to open because this man contains so many mysteries and navigator is only one of them. where did he come from? what did he do that caused nav and sapph to be here? is he actually able to break the loop? why is he running? does he actually not remember where he came from? why cant he go to the nether? how did he lose his arm? will he be successful in his empire and what will he sacrifice to reach it? is it too late for him to change course?

but also nav is my special little guy and every time hes mentioned or theres a potential of a nav appearance i transmute into an exclamation point

Gideon, if you think it's your duty to fight Harrow and it's necessary to stop her , why don't you just deliver the final blow?

If you wanted her to stop, you'd ask Cam's help or something. If you wanted to really hurt her, you'd go all out. Instead, you two seem to be having the weirdest kind of sex, where she is poking at you with sharp edges, begging you to kill her and end it all, and you're begging her to stay and touch you, no matter how.

I loved the update so much! I really adore MC's parents!

I have some small questions, though I guess some may be spoilery, so feel free to ignore them.

It's mostly about the parents, to be fair:

We know they love MC dearly, but do they sometimes feel empathy for MC's biological parents who were stolen such a wonderful child?

You said they are absolutely opposed to MC being in a relationship with Nav, but will it be possible to try and talk it out with them? Or will MC be forced to keep the relationship a secret? If you think about it, them being so against Nav because of their blood is a direct contradiction to them accepting MC fully as their child despite the lack of blood bonds. I just feel so bad for a MC in love with Nav but who also loves their parents deeply.

In regards to the first question, sometimes Lesae does. She wonders who carried the baby she holds now, and wonders how it felt to find nothing but an empty crib.

She wonders if a dead body, like she found of her son, is worse compared to nothing. Or perhaps the lack of closure would drive a mother insane. She debates with herself about it in the early years. She kind of compares herself to this woman she’s never met in terms of child loss.

However, she would never go looking for her. Not to apologize or give MC back. Lesae might feel some empathy, but she is wholly selfish in this instance as well.

As to an MC in love with Nav, your parents will come around. As you say, it’s certainly hypocritical to hate Nav for their blood. Grief isn’t logical, though, and they need someone to blame for what lingers of their pain.

It isn’t fair, and it’s not right, and they’ll get a clue eventually.
