How did our parents meet?

I'm curious, do the fae age slower than humans? I keep picturing the eternally youthful king and queen fawning over their elderly human child and it makes me want to cry

Fae do have much, much longer lifespans than humans, yes! MC will gain that lifespan when the ceremony to name them heir is done, though.

I loved the update so much! I really adore MC's parents!

I have some small questions, though I guess some may be spoilery, so feel free to ignore them.

It's mostly about the parents, to be fair:

We know they love MC dearly, but do they sometimes feel empathy for MC's biological parents who were stolen such a wonderful child?

You said they are absolutely opposed to MC being in a relationship with Nav, but will it be possible to try and talk it out with them? Or will MC be forced to keep the relationship a secret? If you think about it, them being so against Nav because of their blood is a direct contradiction to them accepting MC fully as their child despite the lack of blood bonds. I just feel so bad for a MC in love with Nav but who also loves their parents deeply.

In regards to the first question, sometimes Lesae does. She wonders who carried the baby she holds now, and wonders how it felt to find nothing but an empty crib.

She wonders if a dead body, like she found of her son, is worse compared to nothing. Or perhaps the lack of closure would drive a mother insane. She debates with herself about it in the early years. She kind of compares herself to this woman she’s never met in terms of child loss.

However, she would never go looking for her. Not to apologize or give MC back. Lesae might feel some empathy, but she is wholly selfish in this instance as well.

As to an MC in love with Nav, your parents will come around. As you say, it’s certainly hypocritical to hate Nav for their blood. Grief isn’t logical, though, and they need someone to blame for what lingers of their pain.

It isn’t fair, and it’s not right, and they’ll get a clue eventually.

After thinking for a long time, I think I'll end up going with Nav as a RO, even if my MC will probably be friendly enough with everyone (well, maybe not Safra since she's a fae hunter).

But I've read before that this is one RO the parents are absolutely opposed to. If it isn't too spoilery, will we be able to be open about wanting that and try to change their minds, or will it HAVE to be a secret?

Secret at first, but they come around eventually. Just typical parents worrying about their kid, but they love you too much to not accept Nav eventually.

Once Nav proves themselves…

A: Once you’re together…very. Because of your history, they’re terrified you’ll wake up and realize how shitty they are and how much better you deserve.

Phae: They’re not jealous, but they are territorial. People can hit on you all they like, Phae knows it won’t go anywhere. They will make a point of being very touchy with you and rubbing it in the poor sap’s face, though.

Nav: They don’t really notice when people hit on you, quite honestly. They’re usually too busy with you to ever notice anyone else lmfao. If someone was persistent enough to get Nav’s attention, they would very quickly want to loose said attention.

Will: At first…pretty jealous. He’s a human servant and you’re beautiful and surrounded by beautiful, rich fae and how can he compete with that? Later on, as he gets to know you and your relationship solidifies, he copes a lot better and realizes you really do want him.

Saf: She’d put an arrow or two through someone if they’re pushy enough, to be quite honest. Only if they’re making you uncomfortable, though. Otherwise, she doesn’t really care; you want her and she wants you.

I honestly can't wait to play as a little gremlin to the fea lords/council but is a complete angel to their parents like putting a water bucket at their door, placing animal poop at their bedsheets, putting food bomb in their dinner. When they all had enough and try to report to the king and queen will be like :

Lords: " Your Majesty, your heir have bring nothing but chaos to us all!!! "

King/Queens : look at MC sitting on their lap innocently swinging their feet " Such nonsense, my child is nothing short of a saint, now i suggest you stop spreading lies of my child before i have your tongue cut off peasant!!!! "

Child MC: look up at their parents with puppy eyes : " May i please be excused mommy / daddy 🥺"

King/Queen : "You may my angel, and bring a few guards with you " kiss MC forehead as they get up and leave

(What the king/queen don't see is the maniacal grin that the MC is giving the fea that just paint themselves a target and is already planning hundred of pranks revolving this poor sucker as the next victim)😈😈

Kelnan: Darling, look! Our little one is fully embracing their fae upbringing. Next thing you know they'll be stealing names!

Lesae: We're so proud! Oh, but my love, they're not rigging that smoke sachet quite correctly. I'll go help them.

May i ask how long will we be playing as child MC POV?

I kinda digging how our MC is coming from a loving and protective family with no ill will what so ever ( if u don't count lying about our origin part that is, Whoopsie....)

Just chapter one, it goes a bit more in depth as to how exactly MC is raised and presented to the court. Your parents plot to make you heir far before the lords suspect they'll actually do so.

It's also discussed why they have no more biological children soon in part two. When you're around 4 it is brought up, but they decide not to. They know it would invalidate any claim you had to the throne. Lesae also had a pretty traumatic first birth and doesn't want to do it again since she has no reason to.
