05/31 amigurumay | In nature

To get this photo I had to go to my local park that has a small creek running through it.  I then had to balance this amigurumi on a small pile of rocks, keeping them out of view of the camera. That's how I kept the amigurumi from touching the water and ruining it. Sure, it's a fish. But when you're made of cotton, water probably isn't the best thing to be splashing in.

Have you tried the #amibookchallenge before? All you have to do is make a pattern from one of your favorite amigurumi books and post it to social media. My all time favorite pattern is this pelican from natura_crochet's book "Aquatic Amigurumi".

In fact this exact pelican is still available on my Etsy shop for anyone interested. I would keep it myself but my birds keep trying to pull it's eyes out! Why do my birds have to be tiny little wrecking balls, this is why we can't have nice things.

22/31 amigurumay | Books and patterns

When it comes to purchasing books and patterns I tend to purchase individual patterns over books.  It's just cheaper if all you want is one pattern. Plus, the wet winters here in Portugal tend to ruin any books or paper laying around my house, leaving them smelling musty.  But that doesn't mean I don't have some books. My favorites would have to be the picapau series by @picapauyan and aquatic amigurumi by @natura_crochet . I even have a few books where my own patterns were

published in!

25/31 #amigurumay | 3 things about patterns

The last three patterns I followed were Snowball the seal and jellyfish by @natura_crochet and green-cheek conure by @melmadegifts  Please ignore the fact that the conure has no eyes.  It originally did, but then my two birds got a hold of it and ripped them out.  Now, I have to embroider new eyes... *sigh*

I can't express how much I love this pattern from @natura_crochet 's Aquatic Amigurumi book. I made it with worsted weight yarn and it turned into a beast!

Sadly my two birds won't let me display amigurumi around my house without them taking the eyes out! That's why I've decided to list this beautiful piece for sale on my Etsy shop along with some other designs from this awesome book.

Alice the Witch pattern from @natura_crochet . When saw that pattern I was like immedietly need to crochet it, region I live in Poland is known for witches so Alice ended to be perfect for me.
