Sooo, I’m in like the Algonquin based nations area, Basically the Northern Natives so I don’t know that much of the Natives in the United States area. So, I’ll share what I know!
From what I’ve collected, there are some civilizations/nations that intersect in between US and Mexico. So once the borders were established, there were Tribes that were suddenly separated from one another. Some of the nations that I can name is the Navajo, Apaches, Comanches, Kiowas
Here’s something cool ->
I think it was essentially over land? (Again, I only know more of the Northern Native history) All I know is that the tribes down there were essentially FEARED on the battlefield. But I’d say it was mostly confusion between Alfred and Mexico. The Comanches, Apache, and Kiowas basically shared a large portion of land. Spain, when colonizing felt that the Comanches were an extreme threat and hastened to become allies. (They helped the Comanches against the Apaches?) After Mexico soon became independent, the Comanches and Spanish relations soured. I know Comanches put up a huge fight to keep their land but unfortunately, there were too many killed Comanche warriors and they soon moved to their Reservation. Here’s the Comanche Official website where you could learn their perspective of history.
But the Great Plains tribes were much more prone to war amongst each other? So I’d say Alfred is sorta weary of Mexica, but at the same time having a sense of Comradrie? They probably argue over small disputes that’s happened centuries in the past XD like “Nonono, I am sure you fell off the horse the first time!” “What? Hell no! Your just jelly that my horse liked me” Or some shit lmao IDK
KDNEJDK I just remembered about the Death Whistles in Aztec/Mayan culture. Basically, it’s a small whistle shaped like a skull or a shell and when you blow it, it makes a blood curdling scream. And when the Aztecs/Mayans fought against the Spanish, they would surround the camp, and hundreds of the warriors would blow their whistles and basically scare the shit out of the Spainiards and make sure they couldn’t get ANY sleep. (They did this during the night as the Spanish soldiers attempted to sleep and rebuild their strength. I think it drove many of the Spanish soldiers insane too.) So maybe when Mexico is extremely pissed off with Spain, they’d sneak over while they sleep and play the death whistle. (Spain prob has PTSD from them whistles 💀💅🏾💅🏾👀)
(remember, this knowledge that I’ve shared about the Great Plains nations are not completely accurate.)
ok not sure how comprehensible this post is gonna be but! regarding the languages discussion, here are my thoughts about the anglo americans. be warned this post is long as fuck, but thank you so much if you do read all of it, and i’d love to hear your thoughts about it as well!

Regrann from @indigenoustala - Credit: @1491s : Why is redface okay? Too many 'feminist' and 'pro-poc' accounts are actually anti-native on Instagram. I recall several times where natives were shot down by these 'pro POC!!!' accounts, as in they were defending Satin and other racist accounts doing redface. Y'all are a bunch of hypocrites.
