Working on reclaiming the run from the invasive Japanese honeysuckle that's been taking it over for years. I got a ton pulled down yesterday & have it about halfway cleared now!
A little annoyed that it's gonna rain all weekend so I won't be able to play outside on my days off. :( But hopefully the softer ground will help me tackle the other patch of wintercreeper next week at least.
I have triclopyr to apply to the honeysuckle and wintercreeper stumps when I get down to them but I'm putting it off until I have it cleared out & can apply to them all at once.
Probably won't be able to plant anything new until next year, but need to look into safe climbing plants that could go on the run bc I DO love the look & the cats love hiding in it. I'd just like it to be something not invasive, lol

In celebration of Native American Heritage Month, we'd like to highlight Edward Rogers, one of the first Native American graduates of the law school (1904). Rogers first enrolled at Dickinson Law School but after a year decided to attend the University of Minnesota. While in law school, Rogers played football and was named captain of the Gopher team in 1903. During the 1903 game against Michigan, Rogers kicked the game-tying extra point, which secured their first win of the Little Brown Jug.
After coaching football for a year after graduation, Rogers practiced law for 62 years, 46 of them as Cass County Attorney. During that time, he was active in Chippewa affairs, serving as their tribal attorney from 1941-1945, and he was also elected Vice President of the National Congress of American Indians' (NCAI) first Executive Council. Rogers was named Outstanding County Attorney in the US in 1962, and he was also inducted into the College Hall of Fame (1968) and American Indian Athletic Hall of Fame (1973).

I'm wearing a t-shirt with the starry night on it + I have my kindle with the starry night cover. I look like I'm obsessed with van Gogh but I'm such a fucking poser because I don't know a lot about art in general 😭

I don't see why Adahy would be embarrassed by his second name like Eddy is. "Sailing Master" sounds pretty badass.
I don't understand what's wrong with "Skipper", either, that's a perfectly fine name for a penguin.

The Haunted Dark Entry Forest and the Cursed Dudleytown
You are not allowed to enter the Dark Entry Forest any longer. Inside there is the ghost town of Dudleytown, a town said to be so cursed it didn’t end well for any of the settlers. They turned mad, dead or even taken by the ‘creature of the forest’.
You are not allowed to enter the Dark Entry Forest any longer. Inside there is the ghost town of Dudleytown, a town said to be so cursed it didn’t end well for any of the settlers. They turned mad, dead or even taken by the ‘creature of the forest’.  Once this area was sacred ground for the Mohawk Nation, but this all changed after colonization and today it is known as a cursed place. The Dark…

What's your favourite song of the new album based on first reactions👀
Hello there mate! ✌️
Fist off, this Album is incredibly good to me. It hit me like a truck. It's a no-skip, there's not one single song I dislike. But there are a few songs that I'd like to point out because of how much I love them. Let's go.
"Magical" because the first song of a new record always brings a special kind of magic with it (for me at least).
"Amazing" left me 😧 and also kinda 💃 simultaneously, 'cause it's so friggin relatable. I listen to it and I just feel like dancing and singing through the sadness which is a somehow utterly sad yet so wholesome kind of comfort. It makes me feel seen.
Same with "That's on me" - I immediately fell in deep, true love with it. I'd say it is my fav right now.
"Page" hurts but I can't stop listening to it.
"Midnight" made me think of my kids. It leaves me with a shimmer of hope in my achy breaky heart. The feeling that everything will turn out alright eventually and that I, that all of us, will be fine.
Sorry😀, I could've just said "That's on me", but I wanted to talk about this Album because.. because damn! It's too fkn great. Pure gold.
These are my favs based on first reactions. I wonder what will be my favs in a week, or a year from now.
Thank you SO MUCH for asking. I'd love to talk about your fav song(s) too if you wanna! ☺️🫶

[ dreamy ] sender and receiver indulge in a handful of slow, romantic kisses ahem. make it gay as hell buddy yeehaw
𝐃𝐈𝐅𝐅𝐄𝐑𝐄𝐍𝐓 𝐊𝐈𝐍𝐃𝐒 𝐎𝐅 𝐊𝐈𝐒𝐒𝐄𝐒
"Kissed? O-Of course I have."
Little louder than the guttering candlelight that illuminated Alfred's quarters, a troubled retort rose in defense of Rafal's pride. Close enough not only to train together, but also to share a bed, the topics that passed between the human and dragon admittedly spanned an endless number. Perhaps it was to be expected that they would eventually stumble upon this. Love. Touches. Kisses. Falling beneath the umbrella of over-friendly activities that one scarcely admitted, known only to two people and the furtive night that proved their sole witness.
Rafal in that regard had never once kissed anyone. Never once placed his trust in another being to such a degree that he left himself vulnerable. Nevertheless, he felt offended that his experience on the matter would even be questioned, and so rolled over to face his friend: "The length of my existence spans hundreds, even thousands, of years. It would be beyond foolish to expect that I haven't."
But the words sounded unconvincing even to his ears much less to another's. "If you do not believe me—" Determined to strengthen his lie, he raised himself onto his elbows above the other man, then lowered until the tips of his hair brushed ticklishly against fair cheeks. "—then let a taste of my skill change your mind."
Irritation. A desire to prove himself. Even faint curiosity toward the ideal. All those things pressed his lips to Alfred's with an impulse equivalent to his resolve. In truth, Rafal had not really planned for anything beyond that first step. Nor had he expected the number of dominoes that would fall quickly after the first.
He squeezed his eyes shut at an unexpectedly amorous initial pace, one that fell not to either prince's reins but to those of their inexperience. Slow and measured. Almost careful. Mouths rubbing together warm and dry for the first minute, a little wetter as time naturally progressed, then colder for it whenever they drew apart to breathe. An activity that demanded total concentration, leveling two hearts on the same plane of understanding no matter their differences- the discovery of kissing was found enriching in that way. He savored it. He wanted more.
Sucking in a breath, he pulled away from the royal, gauged the emptiness left behind- the pleasing sight of his bared throat- then kissed him again. And again. The texture of his mouth evoked used linen. Smooth yet made charming by the occasional imperfection, a scratchy patch of chapped skin here and there. Chasing that feeling, he had only intended for one kiss yet their tender exchange drew him into countless more, a lazy cycle that began at Alfred and ended at him too—
Startled, Rafal ripped himself away with a wide-eyed expression, discomfited by the black hole that had swallowed up his thoughts. "Make no mistake. I am not interested in humans, men, or otherwise. Actions speak louder than words, t-that is all." His voice wavered faintly as he turned on his side. More mortifying than the lapse in control with Prince Alfred was the fact that he had enjoyed it.

જ⁀➴ Things To Script: Politics Edition
Tumblr media
Yes, this is an American aesthetic. Yes it is because I am American.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Elections are completely fair, not rigged, no scandals, fair.
There are no two of the "lesser evils" all candidates are genuinely good people and they want nothing but the best for the country.
All candidates represent the American people, if the American people find that the elected official is unfit they will be REMOVED (yes this is Trump shade.)
There is separation of church and state.
Americans are more open-minded about candidates from parties other than the Democratic and Republican party
(should I just say script out conservatism in general? I mean this is your reality you can if you want!)
We have no official language and ALL languages, cultures, backgrounds are represented and have the ability to be taught.
DEATH to the electoral college.
Fake news, propaganda, lies, non fact checked information cannot make it's way towards journalism.
News outlets have to report TRUE, unbiased information (I'm looking at you FOX)
No trade wars...
America does not involve itself in colonialism, imperialism, militarism, etc (mainly because those things do NOT exist.)
Supreme Court Justices do not rule for life.
There is an age limit to the presidency (this is subjective but personally I don't want an 80 year old president)
The minimum wage is increased from $7.25 (can you believe it's still that) to $20 (or whatever you prefer)
Free healthcare across ALL fifty states.
Planned Parenthood is in every state, providing safe abortions, sex ed, contraceptives, etc to everyone who is in need.
Abortions can NEVER be banned.
Free childcare across ALL fifty states.
Our politicians are civil, cordial, respectful, kind, intelligent (another dig on...let's just say a few people)
World peace
All oppressed/colonized people are FREE and live without any colonial influence.
Affordable prescription drugs.
Baby formula is affordable (this isn't really political but no formula should cost FIFTY BUCKS?)
Gay marriage is legal across all states and can NOT be revoked.
No fascism, Nazism, white supremacy, zionism, any bigoted idealogy in general does NOT exist.
Books are not banned/ can't be banned.
No fracking.
Free college.
No discrimination against ANYONE no matter their race, ethnicity, nationality, origin, sexuality, gender identity, etc.
Rape, sexual assault, pedophilia does not exist.
Crime in general doesn't exist.
Free therapy across the country.
The government actually WORKS to make this country better.
ICE does NOT exist.
Federal assistance programs can NOT be cut.
No wealth gap (no top 1% and the struggling 99%)
No homelessness.
No poverty.
Maternity leave is LONGER (isn't it like 2-6 weeks? come on now...)
Court rulings that have been passed can NOT be overturned (think roe v. wade)
No pink tax!
First time homeowners receive a grant from the government to help them with payments.
Credit scores isn't an issue, anyone regardless of their wealth can purchase a new car/home/rent an apartment.
Native Americans are seen as the true indigenous people of the Americas an they are incredibly respected, the land is returned back to them.
Follow up: Columbus Day does not exist.
The KKK doesn't exist...or MAGA or TRUMP!
No anti-vaxxers (get vaccinated, no they don't cause autism and no they aren't chipping you or whatever right wingers think)
They are laws put in place to protect our planet, nature reserves, recycling is MANDATORY, wildlife parks, etc.
History is NOT erased and is actively taught/encouraged in schools.
Guns...do I even need to explain at this point...
Immigrants are WELCOME and there is no stigma, discrimination or stereotypes about them either!
This country is extremely diplomatic we are on good terms with all countries, every meeting with them goes well and can only strengthen our allyship.
DEI EVERYWHERE!
everyone is WOKE, I mean unprecedented woke, profoundly woke EVERYONE GET MORE WOKE NOW!!!
No wars.
There is RESEARCH done on women's health (why don't we know anything about endometriosis fr...)
Mount Rushmore doesn't exist

Okay that's all I could come up with for now! Buh bye my loves!

Steve had this kind of stray puppy thing going on that Wayne was reluctant to give him a shovel talk. And he didn't even do anything! All he did was sat there with his perfect posture—straight back, hands politely folded on his lap, big earnest eyes, and calm breathing. He was all good-mannered and nervous smiles, which was both annoying and endearing.
Now, Wayne wouldn't call himself soft or lenient when it came to securing his nephew's happiness. But maybe, he'd mellowed out because of old age. Or maybe, he'd seen how Steve always brought out the best of Eddie, making him the kind of man that Wayne was proud of.
Either way, Wayne didn't have the heart to threaten Steve with something truly malicious, so he just skipped right over it and ended the talk with a well practiced stern look that made the Harrington boy cower just fine.
Later that night, when Eddie came home with a goofy, lovesick smile, Wayne couldn't help but ask, "Anyone given ya the talk, yet?"
"What talk?" Eddie plopped down beside him on the couch and took a long swig from the bottle of Guinness he'd just retrieved from the fridge. A metaphorical lightbulb went off above his head when Wayne gave him a raised brow. "Ah yes, The Talk. 'Course. I'd be offended if they didn't!"
Wayne hummed and continued nursing his lukewarm beer while watching the TV, ignoring Eddie's curious look that slowly turned mischievous.
"What? I just left you guys alone for fifteen minutes and you already adopted him?"
"He's your boyfriend, Ed, not some stray," Wayne responded gruffly, but Eddie could easily hear the exasperation in his flat tone.
"Jesus," Eddie cackled, slapping his knee as if he couldn't believe it. "You're worse than Hopper, old man!"
This time, Wayne just stopped pretending to not care and smirked at his nephew's nativity.
"Ya really think it took that man longer than me?"
Eddie paused and let out a gasp, eyes widening as realization dawned on him.
"He threatened to hunt me down if I dare to hurt Steve." Eddie slapped his forehead. "No way it'd take him months to adopt baby Steve on sight!"
Wayne nodded, not so smugly. "Now you're talkin'."
He'd eat his pickup truck if Hopper didn't also immediately yield under those puppy eyes. The Harrington might not be the best kind of people, but Wayne had to admit that their son was a sweet soul with a big heart. No thanks to them, of course.
"Anyway," Eddie smirked, nudging at his shoulder teasingly. "You're not distracting me from the fact that you consider Steve family now."
Wayne shrugged, unbothered. Family was family. He'd lived long enough to know it had nothing to do with blood relation.
"'Course, he's your boy."
And though neither of them said it aloud, they both agreed that Steve had been a Munson since the day he saved Eddie's life and continued to make it better with his presence alone.
"Thank you," Eddie said softly a moment later when they were about to go to bed.
The only good thing that came out of the whole 'earthquake' incident was their new apartment, which was afforded by the government's compensation money. And even so, if Wayne was allowed to choose again, he'd rather they still lived in their shoebox of a trailer than watch his nephew suffer from blatant PTSD that none of the kids were willing to talk about and this town's blind hatred.
"He makes you happy and you love him. That's what matters to me." Wayne shrugged, ignoring Eddie's blush and sputtering N– No, I'm not!
Before Eddie could try to argue against a moot point, the phone rang and he sprinted toward it to snatch the receiver up as if fearing it'd disappear otherwise.
"Hey, sweetheart," Eddie said breathlessly, looking far too smitten for someone who'd just refused to admit he was in love.
Shaking his head, Wayne decided to leave his nephew be for now. The way he saw it, Eddie wouldn't be able to hold back for long. Not with someone like Steve Harrington.
