NOTE:
“While our review is ongoing, we have decided to temporarily pause applications on both the record titles for oldest dog living and ever until all of our findings are in place and have been communicated,” the spokespersonn said.
She added that it would be misleading to suggest that Bobi had been stripped of his title as “no action has been taken in relation to any record holders yet.”

SSR Ortho Shroud - Platinum Gear Vignette
"Happy 100th Anniversary"
[Land of Dawning – National Museum of Art]
Ortho: So, this is the Land of Dawning's National Museum of Art… It really has such a large and diverse collection of various genres of artwork. This is essentially a database of art.
Ortho: According to the map I installed, this exhibit should hold the painting I'm looking for…
???: An enormous dog with three heads and sharp fangs… A frightening creature, indeed. I would have loved to have seen it personally.
Ortho: Hello, Jade Leech-san. I was just here to check out the Cerberus painting, too.
Jade: Is that so? As a creature that served the Lord of the Underworld, the Cerberus truly did have a powerful aura about it.
Jade: I'm sure with all 6 of those eyes keenly trained on the entrance to the underworld, it would have been a difficult endeavor indeed to attempt an escape.
Ortho: They're really cool, don't you think?
Ortho: But, according to lore, if they got tempted by their favorite sweets, they would end up lowering their vigilance.
Jade: Fufu, I see. So, perhaps it was a more charming creature than it looked… Would you agree?
Ortho: Yep. Also, they had one body, right, so each of the three heads ate a smaller amount of food…
Ortho: And they'd get in fights whenever they wanted to go in different directions… There's so many other cool stories about them, too.
Jade: You're very well-informed. Is this something that all Ignihyde students must know?
Ortho: Mmm, I'm not sure. I probably just know a lot since I really liked the stories in which the Cerberus would show up, and I'd read them all the time.
Ortho: Back when I was a kid, me and my brother would read picture books on the legends of the Lord of the Underworld, see…
Ortho: And even after coming to Sage's Island, whenever I learned of a new tale involving Cerberus, I'd update my database.
Jade: I see, so that's how… Well, I appreciate having been able to hear some unexpected anecdotes.
Ortho: Most would say that they look ferocious, or seem really strong, but the more you get to know them, the more cute you'll find them.
Ortho: Since Cerberus is considered a dog-like monster, I've also been collecting data on regular dog behaviors too.
Ortho: Recently, I've gotten to pet some dogs out for a walk down in Whistle Park. Of course, I ask their owners for permission, first.
Jade: A real dog… That's astounding. As I do not have much experience with them, I'm afraid I'm a tad hesitant to actually touch them, myself.
Ortho: I was a bit hesitant too, at first. I didn't really know how much strength I should put into touching a living creature…
Ortho: And since I'm a technomantic humanoid and smell different than humans, they'd be super wary of me.
Jade: Ah, that makes sense. They do have a powerful sense of smell.
Jade: So then, how is it that you've become able to interact with those dogs, Ortho-kun?
Ortho: I just would strike up a conversation with them on a regular basis and slowly built trust.
Jade: That is astounding. This is the first I've heard that you are well-versed in animal linguistics.
Ortho: I'd always had an app installed that'd let me talk with animals, but…
Ortho: Once I became a student at Night Raven College, I actually developed an animal linguistics translation tool.
Ortho: By talking to the animals first hand, I was able to improve the translations that seems a bit strange…
Ortho: Not only has was I able to improve the translation accuracy, but now I've gotten close with a bunch of dogs that they'll actually come up to me themselves once they catch sight of me!
Jade: So, in addition to achieving your goal of petting dogs, you were able to update your own translation tool… Absolutely fantastic.
Ortho: Heheh! Thanks, Jade Leech-san.
[Land of Dawning – National Museum of Art]
Ortho: This is a painting depicting one of the scenes from the Mermaid Princess's legend, isn't it? That's the Sea King riding that sleigh, right?
Jade: That's right, and what a dignified and gallant figure he is. What a shame he was unaware that the princess would be absent for the concert.
Ortho: He got really mad the moment he learned that the princess was going to be absent for her own debut… or so the story goes.
Ortho: I feel bad for the king, that she slipped out without telling him. But it's pretty cool that he gets to ride that dolphin-led sleigh.
Jade: Did that dolphin-led sleigh catch your eye? Then please, you must visit the Coral Sea.
Jade: They are primarily used for special events, however there are many such sleigh services geared towards surface-dwelling tourists.
Ortho: Cool, what sort of stuff? Let me search up "Coral sea dolphins sleigh" real quick…
Ortho: Here we go, there's a ton of tours, like… "Tour the Majestic Sea on a Dolphin Sleigh" and "Explore Undersea Ruins upon a Dolphin Sleigh"
Ortho: "Dolphin-led sleighs are safe and secure! Feel like a king as you partake in an elegant tour of the sea!" …Wow!
Jade: Safe and secure… I am a tad doubtful of that statement.
Ortho: You mean it's actually dangerous?
Jade: About 2 years ago, there was an incident where tourists from the surface were left stranded in the middle of the ocean.
Ortho: Let me search for any incidents having to do with dolphin sleighs. Ah, I got a hit on a news article from 2 years back.
Ortho: The stranded tourists were able to find their way to land on their own, and were all okay in the end, but…
Ortho: The touring company responsible got a ton of bad reviews after that. Looks like they got flamed pretty badly online.
Jade: Well, now… A corporation built at the bottom of the sea in which fire cannot thrive was "flamed pretty badly," you say… How wonderfully ironic.
Jade: According to the news, the dolphins merely left on a whim. If this all happened because of their mood, then what's to stop this sort of thing from happening again?
Ortho: You're right, Jade-san. This is a completely different story than just trying to fix the bugs in the system.
Ortho: I wonder if there's some sort of pattern to the timing of those dolphin mood swings. I'll have to search up on it later.
Jade: Fufu, you are quite cautious, aren't you?
Ortho: Yep! 'Cause, if I'm going to go check them out, I'd want to go when they're in one of their flippant moods!
Jade: I was not expecting that response. I completely expected you to be wanting a "safe and secure" tour.
Ortho: It might be fine just strolling around the ocean depths, but I feel like it wouldn't be as satisfying being stuck on a set path.
Ortho: If the dolphins act up, they might leave me stranded in the ocean, or take me to unexpected places…
Ortho: Doesn't it get your blood pumping to think about what sort of unpredictable moments might be waiting for you?
Jade: Indeed, I completely understand that sentiment. When everything follows organized harmony, it does get quite boring.
Jade: Then, how about I suggest a more stimulating tour for you? I assure you, this absolutely will not leave you wallowing in boredom.
Ortho: That sounds fun! I can't wait to see what kind of tour you come up for me, Jade-san.
[Land of Dawning – National Museum of Art]
Jade: Ah, this artwork depicts the scene where the Fairest Queen is sending out her most trusted hunter on a significant mission.
Ortho: I heard that when it comes to paintings depicting the Fairest Queen, you'll want to focus on the finer details, like the direction her face is looking, or the angle at which her finger is pointing.
Ortho: Vil Schoenheit-san told me as such when I was selected as a supporter for the museum.
Jade: That's good to know. I'm sure those in Pomefiore would be passionately moved while gazing upon this painting.
Ortho: Hmm, the concept of being moved by just looking at a painting is still a difficult one for me to grasp…
Ortho: But actually, something happened recently that's still stuck in my mind. I wonder if this is what they consider to be "moved" by something?
Jade: What a fascinating start. May I ask what sort of thing happened?
Ortho: The Film Research Club went to Crane Port for some club activities, and on the way back, I ran into this family that was fishing.
Ortho: They were chatting away about what kind of dishes they'd make if they caught anything, but their bucket was still devoid of any fish…
Ortho: Right as the dad said, "I guess we should head home," his kid caught a fish!
Ortho: Everyone looked so happy. But what do you think that family did next?
Jade: Did they not put the fish in the bucket and carry it home?
Ortho: Nope. They just said it would be a pity to eat a creature so small and threw it back into the ocean.
Ortho: But they did that after they had finally fished one up! It didn't really make sense to me, so it was hard to understand what I saw.
Jade: If I recall, there is a certain release size criteria that is implemented here on land in order to conserve water resources.
Ortho: Yep. But according to my measurements, that fish was about 5 cm larger than the release criterion.
Ortho: Based on the way that family was talking, once they had caught a fish that was "big," they should have taken it home with them.
Ortho: Even though it was an adult fish adequate for cooking up, they pitied it because it looked too small…
Ortho: No matter how many times I think it over, I can't really understand that mechanism.
Jade: I thought this would be a story where you were moved by their care for a small creature… But instead, I see you were more taken in by their incomprehensible actions.
Ortho: They spent time and energy into trying to fish up that fish, but in the end… I wonder if that sort of illogical action is what makes a human human.
Jade: Perhaps, perhaps not. For that family, it may be that was the most logical choice.
Ortho: Eh, what do you mean?
Jade: If it were a large fish, then the whole family could divide it up and eat it. However, a single, small fish would not nearly be enough.
Jade: In order for everyone in the family to eat their fill, they would need to cook up more dishes to go with it.
Jade: Then, if there were no fish to begin with, they wouldn't have to go through the trouble of making extra dishes… Perhaps that would be a better way to think of it?
Ortho: I see…! If I were to think from the eyes of the person who has to prepare the meal, that decision makes more sense.
Jade: This is only a possible scenario I've come up with… But I only mean it to illustrate that there are many ways to view something.
Ortho: Heh! See, this is why talking with as many different peoples as I can gives me so much new data… Plus, it's really interesting!
Ortho: Thanks a ton for listening, Jade-san. I hope we can chat about other stuff some other time.
Ortho: Okay, time for me to go check out another exhibit. Oh hey, this painting…
Ortho: It depicts the moment when the Son of the God of Thunder and his trainer is talking about his grand dreams.
Ortho: According to the lore, this guy's strength was way off the charts and was invulnerable, but… I bet I could find it.
Ortho: I know I could find a weakness that could bring even a hero like that down.

TOA Anniversary Munday
Celebrating TOA and the people who contribute to make our group what it is. Repost, don't reblog. Only fill in what you feel comfortable sharing! Happy anniversary, TOA! Here's to many more years spent together.
Credits to Neffi for making this!
Name: Tiff
Pronouns: she/her
Birthday (no year): December 2nd
Where are you from? What is your time zone? USA; Eastern Standard Time
How long is your roleplay experience? 12-ish years give or take some hiatuses I took and whatnot.
How were you introduced to roleplaying as a whole? I am pretty sure it was due to some friends I had in high school at the time lol. Ironically they wrote on Tumblr haha. I wrote short stuff on DeviantArt before that as one-shot things but we don't perceive that.
How were you introduced to TOA? I saw a promo post for it on Twitter. I was in a multi-fandom rp group writing 3H there at the time but I was intrigued at the idea of getting to interact with more Fire Emblem characters and having a new setting for my 3H muse.
Do you have any pets? No, but I used to have birds when I was younger.
What is your favorite time of year and why? (Season, holiday, general period) Fall because the weather starts to cool down lol. I also like the autumn cozy things.
What is your IRL occupation? Database Analyst.
Some interests and things you like/enjoy? Reading, listening to music, dance, cosplay, makeup.
What non-Fire Emblem games do you play? Persona, rhythm games (right now just Project Sekai but I used to be very big into Love Live), and I've enjoyed mystery series like Danganronpa and RainCode.
Favorite Pokemon type & Pokemon: I am saddened to say I know very little about Pokemon asFGHL but I am hoping to change this soon.
Tell us some funfacts and trivia about yourself! (Optional bonus challenge: if you filled this last year, try not to repeat what you said back then!) Hmm. I am left handed, I am one of the fastest typists at my job, and I have had a few ita bags over the years for various characters- Eli Love Live, Kanan Love Live, Makoto Persona 5, and I've started an Edelgard one lol.
How did you get into Fire Emblem? Three Houses was all over my Twitter feed when it came out and so I checked it out! The gameplay looked neat and the story seemed cool. And now I am here!
What Fire Emblem games have you played? I have played or watched playthroughs of Jugdral, the Archanea games, Awakening, Fates, Valentia, 3 Houses, and Engage.
First & Favorite Fire Emblem games: First: Three Houses. Favorite: Three Houses.
List your 5 favorite Fire Emblem characters across the series! Probably Edelgard, Celine, Dorothea, Flayn, and Ivy.
Who was the first character ever to make you go “ooh I like this one in particular” and why? Can be any context and reason! Edelgard lol! I went in 3H blind and I chose BEagles first because I liked her character and I was not disappointed.
Any Fire Emblem crushes? 😳 Hmm not really, but I think Alfred and Diamant are cool lol.
If you’ve played (or are familiar with) the following games, who was your first S support? Who would you S support nowadays? - Awakening: Chrom, still Chrom
Fates: I can't remember orz.
Three Houses: Edelgard, still Edelgard or maybe Hubert
Engage: Alfred, Alfred again or Diamant
Favorite Fire Emblem class? I've grown fond of the Armored classes over the years but I also like Gremory.
If you were a Fire Emblem character, what would be your class and stats? Would you be playable? I'd probably be a healer lol and average stats.
If you were a Three Houses character, what would be your affiliation? (Black Eagles, Blue Lions, Golden Deer, Church of Seiros, Those Who Slither in the Dark, unaffiliated civilian, other - for example Almyran) Black Eagles.
If you were an Officers Academy student, what would be your boons, banes and potential budding talent? Boons: Reason, Faith. Banes: Axe, Heavy Armor. Budding talent: Authority
If you were an Engage character, which nation would you originate from? (Firene, the Kingdom of Abundance; Brodia, the Kingdom of Might; Elusia, the Kingdom of Knowledge; Solm, the Queendom of Freedom; Lythos, the holy land of the Divine Dragon; Gradlon, the desolate land of the Fell Dragon) Firene is very pretty and I am slightly bias haha.
How do you pronounce TOA? 🤔(separate letters, to-ah, other?) To-Ah
Current TOA muses: Edelgard, Celine
Past TOA muses? Flayn, Annette, Dorothea, Elice, Yunaka. I think that's all.
If you have past muses, are there any you miss in particular? I enjoy them as characters but I don't want to write any of them right now. I prefer seeing them in other people's hands hehe.
Who was your first TOA muse? If you no longer have them, can you see yourself picking them up again? My first muse was Flayn and I don't see myself writing her again. I wrote a lot of stuff for her both here and the previous MFRP group I was in and I feel satisfied with that.
Do you believe you have a type of character you gravitate towards writing? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) My muse type is still the same I think lol! I gravitate a lot towards stoic women- Something about these ladies having a lot of responsibility on their shoulders and, for some of them, a colder exterior but a kind heart.
Do you have characters or types of characters you don’t think you can handle writing, but wish you could? Male muses never stick for me in general. Aside from that, I'm not really sure, but I guess maybe characters who's designs are neat but I don't have their lore as well-grasped.
What kind of scenes, situations etc do you believe you enjoy writing the most? (If you filled this out last year, has this changed in any way?) I enjoy a mix of things! I like fluff as much as I like angst stuff- It depends on the muses and context. I like steering my muses towards certain arcs and I like them developing friendships as well as finding themselves in difficult scenarios.
Do you have any scenario in mind for your muse(s) that gets you thinking “man I hope I get to write this one day”? I'd like to write more AU's! The 3H timeskip AU and Fell Xenologue AU's are two off the top of my head. Otherwise, I hope to explore more of Edelgard opening up about herself and Celine developing more knowledge on surrounding lands.
Favorite TOA-related memories? I enjoyed Fantom Loews and KKE a lot as two lore events that come to mind! I also really have liked every Ethereal Ball interaction my muses have had. The more casual setting allows them to meet both old and new muses.
Present or past tense? I switch around but I've written more in past tense overall.
Normal size text, small text, no preference? I default to small text and bolded dialogue but I change it around sometimes and don't have a preference for other people when writing with me!
Got any potential muse delusions to share? 😉 Not really hahaha. I wouldn't mind trying another Engage character sometime but as to who, I don't know yet lol.

Im mad about gun laws again. this shit wouldnt be half the messy issue it is if they hadn't been so head up ass convoluted when coming up with definitions.
Say I have an Ar15 (or any other pistol/rifle)
according to current NFA regulations as interpreted by the ATF, if it has
a stock and a barrel >16": its a rifle
a stock and a barrel <16": its a SBR
a brace or nothing and no vertical foregrip: its a pistol
a brace or nothing, a vertical foregrip, and its <26" overall length: its an AOW
a brace or nothing, a vertical foregrip, and its >26" overall length: its an OF
a brace or nothing, a barrel >16", and it was manufactured with a stock that has been removed: Its a Rifle
a brace or nothing, a barrel <16", and it was manufactured with a stock that has been removed: its an SBR
Capable of fully automatic fire, was registered by 1986, and not a SBR: Its a machine gun
Capable of fully automatic fire, was registered by 1986, and is an SBR: Its both a machine gun and a SBR
Capable of fully automatic fire and not registered by 1986 or manufactured after 1986: Its a felony for any individual in the US to own this. Government entities such as the military and FFL businesses with a SOT can possess as orginizations.
NFA: National Firearms Act. The legislation responsible for most federal regulations on firearms, including the Hughes amendment which is what creats the bans on civilians from owning machine guns.
SBR: Short barreled rifle, requires $200 atf tax stamp to own
AOW: Any other weapon, requires $5 atf tax stamp to own
OF: Other Firearm, does not require tax stamp.
FFL: Federal firearms license, part of a business license that allows a business to sell firearms
SOT: Special Occupational Taxpayer, an additional license that allows a business to possess and transfer Class 3 items like machine guns
Fully Automatic: Detonates more than one cartridge per single activation of the trigger. Includes burst fire and multi barrel firearms that fire more than one barrel from a single trigger pull. Does NOT include bump stocks, binary triggers, forced reset triggers, and gatling cranks all of which work by various mechanical means to allow the shooter to perform single trigger activations more rapidly. Requires a $200 tax stamp of civilian legal ownership of pre 1986 registered ones.
Transferrable: Short hand for referring to a machine gun that was registered before the 1986 cut off and ownership can be transferred to a civilian who meets and follows the restrictions for class 3 NFA items, such as getting a tax stamp and not crossing state lines with it without receiving approval from the ATF.
Tax stamp: ATF paperwork saying your ID is on record and you have passed a background check, been fingerprinted, supplied the required proof of engraving, and the serial number has been added to their database. Can take up to a year to be approved by the ATF, sometimes even longer. Paperwork must be kept with the relevant gun or suppressor at all times. Required separately for each classification that causes the need for one, so a surpressed pre-86 full auto sbr would require 3, totalling $600 in paperwork fees to the atf completely separate from the cost of the gun
ATF: Government agency responsible for Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. Has a reputation for shooting peoples dogs due to their consistent use of no knock night raids when serving any kind of warrant causing them to become a statistical outlier for being attacked by startled pets.
bonus
Assault weapon:
Not a federal legal term or an ATF classification, defined by state laws and varies by state. Not synonymous with assault rifle, a classification used specifically only in terms of equipment for different military roles (and one of the first requirements for filling the assault rifle role is being a machine gun).
Most common features defining an assault weapon: folding stock, barrel threaded to accept a muzzle device such as brake, compensator, or supressor (even if no muzzle device attached), being equipped with a "high capacity" magazine (most commonly either >10 or >20 round capacity).
Some state and local governments are starting to name AR and AK pattern rifles as assault weapons regardless of weather they are in full compliance with all restrictions.
And that's just pistols/rifles. shotguns have an entirely different set of rules, as do flare launchers, explosives (which includes molotovs, and yes the atf does still require serial numbers for them), and just about anything else you can think of.
No matter how you feel about new gun control, i think everybody should be able to agree this is some unnecessarily convoluted nonsense
#and you better remember all of it lest you accidentally comit a felony by stick a 10 piece of plastic on the front of your pistol#gun#gunblr#gun control#politics

I'm so normal about IBM 7094 and Daisy Bell. So normal.
Bell Labs in the early sixties. You know what kind of stuff they were working on back then? The first continuous-light laser. The Telstar spacecraft. The first worldwide TV broadcast, bringing one of President Kennedy's press conferences global in the kind of groundbreaking display of communications technology that eventually paved the way for, y'know, the same kind of global communications technology you're using right now to see this.
And they also had a team of programmers teach this computer to sing. Not the national anthem, not a well-known hymn, not even the alphabet song--they taught it a goofy love song that was already nearly seventy years old at the time. My pet theory is that the name Daisy Bell made a cute pun with Bell Labs and they just went with it.
Maybe they just did it for the PR, but... I doubt it. You work with computers this much, you start to get sentimental about them.
All this work on a computer with the processing power of a calculator so we could meme about Hatsune Miku's grandfather sixty-five years later. ...Worth it.
Of course, with me, y'all know what's coming next. Get t-shirted.
Daisy Bell Lyric T-Shirt
[Image ID #1: A photo mockup showing two smiling women with their arms linked and their heads resting on each other, standing in a sunny room indoors. Both wear jeans and matching T-shirts with the lyrics "Daisy, Daisy, give me your answer do / I'm half crazy all for the love of you" in hand lettering, curved to fit whimsically around ten hand-drawn daisies. The shirts are dark brown, with white-and-yellow art and lettering. End ID.]
[Image ID #2: A photo mockup showing another smiling woman standing in a living room. She also wears jeans and a T-shirt with the same design, but the base T-shirt color is olive green.]
I used a computer thousands of times more powerful than IBM 7094 to make this artwork, and another one to upload it and configure it on a handful of different products (T-shirt, throw pillow, sweatshirt, and both a cotton and a polyester tote bag). It's in like four different databases and an integration system--I should know, because I wrote a ton of metadata for them to make sure people could find my stuff. When you buy one, a message goes back through the entire tech stack and sends my print partner your custom order, which they then produce and mail out to you in a matter of DAYS.
(How the fuck did we get here from there?)
Anyway, these are great T-shirts! They're super soft, go all the way up to 3X in sizing, and they're manufactured by Bella + Canvas, which has platinum WRAP certification (a huge labor standards org--you can read about their deal here). And they come in five colors!
Get yours here <3

Bobi, the world's oldest dog ever, dies aged 31
The world's oldest dog ever has died at the age of 31 years and 165 days.
Guinness World Record holder Bobi, a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, passed away at his home in Portugal on Saturday.
His death was announced on social media by a veterinarian who met Bobi several times.
"Despite outliving every dog in history, his 11,478 days on earth would never be enough, for those who loved him," wrote Dr Karen Becker.
Bobi became both the world's oldest living dog and the oldest dog ever in February - beating an almost century-old record for the latter title.
The previous oldest dog ever was Australia's Bluey, who died in 1939 at the age of 29 years and five months.
Bobi's grand old age was validated by the Portuguese government's pet database, which is managed by the National Union of Veterinarians.
The identity of Bobi's successor to the title of world's oldest living dog has not yet been revealed.
Bobi lived his whole life with the Costa family in the village of Conqueiros, near Portugal's west coast, after being born with three siblings in an outbuilding.
Leonel Costa, who was eight years old at the time, said his parents had too many animals and had to put the puppies down, but Bobi escaped.
Mr Costa and his brothers kept the dog's existence a secret from their parents until he was eventually discovered and became part of the family, who fed him the same food they eat.
Apart from a scare in 2018 when he was hospitalised after suddenly collapsing due to breathing difficulty, Mr Costa said in February that Bobi had enjoyed a relatively trouble-free life and thought the secret to his longevity was the "calm, peaceful environment" he lived in.
However, he had experienced trouble walking and worsening eyesight prior to his death.

World’s oldest dog Bobi : Guinness record holder at 30
February 12, 2023 shows Bobi, a 30 year-old Portuguese dog that has been declared the world's oldest dog by Guinness World Records, at his home in the village of Conqueiros near Leiria.
Leonel Costa, 38 years old, owner of Bobi, a 30 years old Portuguese dog that has been declared the world's oldest dog by Guinness World Records, sits next to his pet at their home in the village of Conqueiros near Leiria.
Just two weeks before announcing Bobi as the world's oldest living dog, Guinness gave a 23-year-old chihuahua mix from Ohio, Spike, the title. A slightly younger purebred chihuahua from Florida, TobyKeith, also held the title more than once in the past year.Leonel Costa describes Bobi as "one of a kind" – adding that the family is "very happy and grateful to life for allowing us, after 30 years, to have Bobi in our daily lives." Bobi has lived his whole life in the village of Conqueiros, in Leiria, Portugal, with the Costa family, Guinness said.
In addition to Guinness' verification, Bobi's age has also been confirmed by Sistema de Informação de Animais de Companhia, a database for pets authorized by the Portuguese government and managed by Sindicato Nacional dos Médicos Veterinários, the country's national union of veterinarians.

According to the file, they’re a mutant on LEVEL FOUR with the power of MADNESS DEITY PHYSIOLOGY. That must be why they’re CREATIVE and UNRELIABLE. They are affiliated with THE DAMNED.

BACKSTORY
triggers: i don’t think there are any actually............... there’s a brief mention of drugs? but it’s literally one sentence alfhkjds
ihsan had a remarkably normal childhood. born in istanbul, he spent the first five years of his life learning about where he came from. upon the birth of his sibling, his parents packed up and moved to san francisco. san francisco, which would bring two major players into his life: a new friend, and his own younger sibling.
in san francisco, he became friends with a boy whose experience was similar to his own, having immigrated from england. they leaned on each other as they attempted to assimilate -- and it was nice to not be alone.
the two dreamt of a greater life together, constantly going over beautiful ‘what ifs’ together -- but, to them, it was ‘when will.’ there was no question in their mind: as they ventured into musicianship, they would become major successes.
but there was a little record scratch. when ihsan was fifteen, he bore witness to a secret his sibling had been trying hard to keep at bay: they turned into a fucking vampire. he fucking walked in on them drinking blood right out of a rat that got in the house!
initially fucking creeped out, he played the game of ‘i saw nothing.’ it was plain as day, though -- not only had he made direct eye contact, but he had begun hoarding all of their pets, as if protecting them from an unspeakable evil.
luckily, his parents thought he was just growing closer to them!
but they were so young and so visibly terrified, so clearly trying to restrain themselves. he would catch them making excuse after excuse to avoid leaving the house. and, eventually, he caved.
ihsan became a pillar of support for his sibling. already just outside of puberty, he figured he was safe from suffering the same fate -- so what could he do to help? every now and again, he would provide his own blood. he couldn’t help them figure out their powers, but he could help them survive.
with their permission, he found himself telling his buddy what the deal was. his buddy revealed something shocking: he, too, was a mutant ! an invisible power, and a very tame one, but it was enough to help ihsan’s sibling out.
wow ! he was surrounded by the best people ! what could go wrong ?
at nineteen, ihsan and his buddy began taking their music very seriously, finding two other musicians to form a complete band with.
ihsan was somewhat of the leader at first. considered a creative visionary by the other three, some kind of mad genius, he launched their careers onto offbeat radio stations. a bit underground with a sound such as theirs, but it was the sound they wanted.
however, at twenty-three, he began... changing. more erratic, less reliable. he would spend days on end holed up, then would spend the next many days on end buzzing around. he would claim absurd things, commit acts of violence, sabotage their own band, and overall... become the syd barrett of the group.
one second, his buddy would think he was dead. the next second, his sibling would find him at their door and become overwhelmed with... a presence they didn’t want to welcome into their home.
they tried to blame acid. they tried to blame some unspecified mental illness. but little did they -- hell, little did he -- know that it was the result of a late onset mutation. the scale was grander than vampirism, and there was no one to help him and there were no guides on how to navigate it. he simply thought he was losing his marbles.
the stronger his mutation became, the worse he was to them, the worse they were to him. steady and fun turned into unreliable and unstable. ousted during a stint in chicago when he became impossible to put up with, it could be said that the group left him, but he left them long ago.
in the end, a quick buck could be made through drug trials... and he could totally pretend he wasn’t skewing the results !
thus, with no one left, he embraced the worst parts of himself and became the violent and erratic man he presents as today. he only realized he was not going insane in the clinical way when those around him began finding themselves driven mad for no reason at all. it was a mutation. it was an influence.
he did not join the damned for the sake of mutant supremacy. he does not believe it’s fathomable, he does not believe he’ll make any lifelong friends within the group with his history. but he does believe it’s a great excuse to just... go hog-wild! get silly!
TIMELINE
BORN -- in ‘87 in istanbul
AGE 5 -- family moves to san francisco. sibling is born. meets who will become a life-long friend.
AGE 15 -- sees sibling chowing on a rat. figures out sibling is a mutant. eventually tries to help sibling, but has no experience, so his help just boils down to ‘here’s some of my blood.’ tells his buddy. his buddy reveals that he’s also a mutant, albeit with a much easier power, and helps his sibling.
AGE 19 -- he and his buddy start taking their careers as musicians very seriously. they form a full band and ihsan takes the lead.
AGES 19-23 -- creates a sound that finds them often landing on underground circuits.
AGE 23 -- starts becoming very unreliable and erratic. nothing like his former self. will sabotage their own performances. will commit acts of violence. will go missing for days on end. will show up at his sibling’s unprompted. etc etc. ( yes, i have based this off of syd barrett. )
AGE 24 -- becomes so hard to put up with that his band has no choice but to let go of him. stays in chicago. without formal education and without an attitude fit for any employment opportunities, he becomes a ‘human’ guinea pig for drug trials and psych students. eventually puts two-and-two together that the big shift was due to a mutation.
AGE 27+ -- joins the damned. not because of the doctrine, rather because it’s a good excuse to embrace the very worst parts of himself. will totally pretend it’s for the doctrine, though.
HEADCANONS
the band is named ‘wilson red’ after classic psychedelic artists brian wilson + red krayola
“fucking sell-outs” - ihsan upon hearing his ex-band on mainstream radio for the first time ( fuck you, 2017 ! )
has to cause a mental breakdown at least once every five days or he’ll have to suffer through it himself. and, given that it’s caused by his ability, it’s much worse than what one usually pictures when they picture a mental breakdown.
completely cut contact with his sibling when his band ‘left him,’ despite them having very little to do with the decision... you know, since they aren’t even in the band.
still very much a creative. plays a variety of instruments and continues to compose songs, writes poetry, draws/paints/etc whatever comes to mind. it’s one of the few good qualities he’s retained.
actively sells his paintings, but... very dark subject matter... they don’t sell very well... leaving him more or less homeless with how unpredictable the drug trial money is
multi multi multi multi multi-instrumentalist. guitar, drums, bass, piano, harmonica, flute, clarinet, trumpet, banjo, organ -- and that’s not all ! and literally if it would sound good in a song, he’d pick it up in a second.
it is entirely on purpose that his zodiac big three, for the most part, does not match his current personality. he was basically possessed by a trickster god ! his personality took a drastic turn !
his mutation has slightly affected his physical attributes. his eyes have black sclera and white irises (still black pupils tho) and every other tooth is silver.
more to come !
CONNECTION IDEAS
his childhood friend/ex-bandmate !!! would require some plotting. a guy who moved from england to san francisco as a kid, has a minor mutation, became close with both ihsan and his sibling, formed a band with ihsan, made the difficult decision to kick him out, kept going with the band and probably changed the sound. alexa, play the entire ‘wish you were here’ album and also the entire ‘the dark side of the moon’ album and also the entire ‘the wall’ album.
his sibling !!! gender left vague, but must be turkish ! five years his junior, vampire physiology ( can brainstorm other ideas if you’re feeling the idea, but not that ability, though ! ), tried to keep mutation a secret but was discovered by ihsan, ihsan enlisted the help of his childhood buddy to help them gain control of their ability. ihsan and sibling were very close, what to the point that ihsan would often show up at their doorstep after days of going missing. contributed, however lightly, to the decision to let ihsan go.
ex-bandmates ! were brought together by ihsan and childhood buddy, save for one who served as ihsan’s replacement. why are they in chicago? i don’t know! maybe they disbanded! but, after ihsan’s firing roughly a decade ago, they became more mainstream and successful. would need a pianist, a bassist, and a drummer -- one or two or three of whom being lead vocals. (2/3 - drums: terrence walker, bass: kit caruso, keyboard: open)
his replacement ! the new guitarist, the new co-vocalist, the new co-lyricist. for a multitude of reasons, ihsan hates this person ! i think it could be spicy if they had, indeed, met before y/m officially joined the band ( a la david gilmour/syd barrett... but antagonistic ), but we will see ! anyway, ihsan hates them. ( preferably masc to cover for ihsan’s vocals )
the damned buddies ! i don’t need friends, they disappoint me. but violence buddies ? that’s fun !
people who volunteer to have mental breakdowns ! you gotta be pretty fucked up for that, but check it !
brainstorming !
#since i cant do graphics. i decided i wld update my intros 2 look rly cool with web weaving!#or. coolER.

Fifteen fun facts about Creator:
From their Creator
1. Creator is agender (feeling as if you have no gender) and uses all pronouns
2. Creator is omnisexual. They’re willing to date all genders (including TV heads), but have a stronger preference for females and feminine people
3. Creator was the exact middle child of five siblings. They had their oldest brother, their older sister, their younger brother, and their youngest sister
4. Creator technically doesn’t have a nationally or ethnicity. If I had to give her one, it would be either American or Australian
5. Creator was around her early to mid thirties when she became aware. Afterwards she stopped herself from aging
6. Creator lives in what is essentially a loop. Think Ms Peregrines home for peculiar children
7. Creators birthday is October 3rd, 1990
8. Creator has a pet Bernese mountain dog as well as a wolfdog and a black cat
9. Creator has a motorcycle to get around on, but he also rides his syche like a witches broom occasionally
10. Creator has access to what is called “The Mainframe”. Eventually it’s like a database of every character made by anyone in existence… that I know of. When I learn about a new character someone made, it goes in the mainframe for Creator to see and study. They know as much as I know unless that characters creator tells Creator something personally. The mainframe also gives them the ability to teleport between universes. Again, they can only teleport to the universes I know exsist
11. Creator doesn’t like the concept of religion in the slightest. This is both cause of her old life and her personal morals and world views
12. Creator can change his physical appearance and even bodily stricter structure thanks to the mainframe. He can add something, remove something, fix something, change something, anything
13. Creators morals are… extremely questionable at best
14. Regarding the last fun fact, Creator does have limits. No harming children, no harming animals unless it’s in self defense, and no harming the elderly unless they ask for it by being violent first
15. Creator isn’t human. They aren’t exactly anything. The closest description would be “shapeshifter”
Creator will never get a happy ending. No matter how hard you try. Creator will never be happy

At 30 years and 266 days old, a Portuguese dog named Bobi was crowned the world’s oldest dog ever on February 1, breaking an almost century-old record, per Guinness World Records (GWR).
The previous titleholder, an Australian cattle dog named Bluey, was born in 1910 and lived for 29 years and 5 months.
Bobi has lived in Conqueiros, a small Portuguese village, for more than three decades. But he almost didn’t survive past infancy, Leonel Costa, his owner, tells GWR.
Costa was just eight years old when Bobi’s litter was born in the family’s woodshed in 1992.
Costa’s father, a hunter, decided the family had too many animals already, so they couldn’t keep the puppies.
“Unfortunately, at that time, it was considered normal by older people who could not have more animals at home … to bury the animals in a hole so that they would not survive,” Costa tells GWR.
The day after they were born, Costa’s father quickly entered the woodshed and stole the puppies while the mother dog, Gira, was out.
For the next few days, Costa and his brothers were devastated. However, they noticed Gira continued to visit the shed, despite her puppies supposedly no longer being there.
Curious, the brothers followed her and discovered a single tiny puppy safely hidden in a pile of logs.
They kept the puppy, Bobi, a secret from their parents until his eyes were open.
“We knew that when the dog opened its eyes, my parents would no longer bury it,” Costa tells GWR.
Bobi is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, a breed often used to guard property and livestock.
These dogs normally live about 12 to 14 years, but Bobi has survived for twice as long—and then some.
“That really is an unusual thing,” Erik Olstad, a veterinarian at the University of California in Davis, tells the Washington Post’s Andrea Salcedo.
“Owners will always ask me, ‘How can I make my dog live the longest life that they can?’ That’s a loaded question because there are so many variants that go into life expectancy.”
Costa attributes Bobi’s long life to his diet of unseasoned human food, his freedom to roam unleashed through the forests and farmland close to home, and the calm countryside in which he grew up.
“Of course, our love and affection throughout his life have also helped,” Costa tells Reuters’ Catarina Demony and Miguel Pereira.
Apart from one health scare in 2018, Bobi has lived a relatively healthy life.
The dog’s longevity has been confirmed by the SIAC, a pet database authorized by the Portuguese government and managed by the National Union of Veterinarians.
The Veterinary Medical Service of the Municipality of Leiria also confirmed Bobi’s birth date, per GWR.
In addition to earning the record for the oldest dog ever, Bobi has also ousted Spike, a 23-year-old chihuahua mix, as the oldest living dog just weeks after the title was given to Spike.
“It’s a feeling of pride we can’t explain,” Costa tells Reuters.
“Some people told us we wouldn’t make it ... but we knew Bobi’s age and were sure the exams would only prove what we already knew.”

NEW: Oldest Dog Ever - Guinness World Records
Bobi has been officially confirmed as the oldest dog ever recorded by Guinness World Records.
Born in Portugal in 1992, Bobi lives with human Leonel Costa.
"We are really happy and grateful to have Bobi with us after 30 years", said Leonel.
Leonel believes that living free in nature, without being tied to chains, and being fed healthy food, in addition to love, helped Bobi to have a longer life.
"I believe Bobi deserves this Guinness World Records title and I, as his owner, have a duty to give him all the best and honor him in every way for this success in life", completed Leonel.

A comprehensive overview of the global bentonite market is recently added by UnivDatos Market Insights to its humongous database. The report has been aggregated by collecting informative data from various dynamics such as market drivers, restraints, and opportunities. This innovative report makes use of several analyses to get a closer outlook on the bentonite market in the global context. This report offers a detailed analysis of the latest industry developments and trending factors that are influencing market growth. Furthermore, this statistical market research repository examines and estimates the global bentonite market at the regional & country levels. The Global Bentonite Market was valued around US$ 1.4 billion in 2020 and is anticipated to display a CAGR of ~around 6% over the forecast period (2021-2027).
Market Overview
Upsurging demand of steel from end user industries like automobile, construction, transportation, energy, and packaging would result to rise in demand of iron ore pellets which are used in manufacturing of steel. Further, sodium-activated calcium bentonite is used as a binder in iron ore pellets and is known to increase strength of both wet and dry iron ore green pellets. Owning to increased demand of iron ore from steel industry would result to higher demand of bentonite for iron ore pelletizing thereby helping the market grow at a considerable rate.
For instance, global production of crude steel in 2018 was 1,825,486 thousand tons which grew to 1,875,155 thousand tons in 2019. As per, The World Steel Association forecasts that steel (apparent steel) demand will grow by 5.8% in 2021 to reach 1.874 billion metric tons, after declining by just 0.2% in 2020, as the overall impact of the coronavirus pandemic on the sector turned out to be less than previously foreseen.
COVID-19 Impact
During the Covid-19 pandemic in the early 2020, majority of the countries and region witnessed a country wide lockdown. This has impacted the overall demand for oil and gas. According to U.S. Energy Information Administration, globally a decline of almost 9% in the overall demand of oil and gas was witnessed in 2020 for the first time since the global recession of 2009. Majority of decline was witnessed in the industrial sector, where countries had imposed shut down of manufacturing facilities to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

Among them, iron ore pelletizing and drilling mud hold a considerable market share. Bentonite exhibits good strength along with high hot and dry strength which helps in preventing molds from breaking or cracking during the pouring or cooling process in the foundry industry. Owing to high strength resulting from its property to absorb and then release moisture, bentonite is used in iron ore palletization.
Global Bentonite Market Region Segmentation Includes:
North America
Europe
Asia Pacific
MEA
South America
Based on the estimation, North America accounted for considerable market position in the market in 2020 and is expected to demonstrate significant growth during the forecast period (2021-2027). Large and increasing oil & gas activities resulted in the increasing demand of bentonite in the region.

The market remained bearish due to an oversupply and low demand, exerting downward pressure on prices. Additionally, ongoing trade issues in the Panama and Suez Canals continued to disrupt the supply chain.
The uncertain macroeconomic environment and a contracting construction sector contributed to the negative market outlook. Prices for Aluminium Alloy Ingot in the US further declined due to high inventories and weakened demand from key sectors such as automotive and construction. Market participants were hesitant to make significant changes to their order positions due to prevailing uncertainties. Several plant shutdowns throughout the quarter further impacted the availability of Aluminium Alloy Ingot, exacerbating supply chain disruptions and leading to further price declines.

APAC

The market saw a surge in demand from downstream industries, especially during the spring season and festive holidays, leading to increased manufacturing activity and orders for Aluminium Alloy Ingot. Additionally, the restoration of trade routes in the Panama Canal and Red Sea resulted in smoother operations and improved market conditions.
The supply of key feedstock materials, such as Bauxite and Alumina, faced fewer challenges, with stability returning after concerns arising from an oil depot explosion in Guinea were addressed. Favorable weather conditions and increased construction activity also boosted demand from the construction sector. In Japan, the pricing trend for Aluminium Alloy Ingot remained relatively stable, despite significant price changes in the broader APAC region. The expansion of electric vehicle manufacturing and ongoing government initiatives supporting downstream industries sustained demand for Aluminium Alloy Ingot in Japan.
During the first quarter of 2024, the price of Aluminium Alloy Ingot (ADC 12) CFR Tokyo in Japan stood at USD 2483/MT. Overall, the market outlook for Aluminium Alloy Ingot in the APAC region for the first quarter of 2024 is positive, with expectations of continued growth and stability.
Europe
Throughout the first quarter of 2024, the pricing dynamics of Aluminium Alloy Ingots in Europe were influenced by various factors. There was a slight uptick in global availability due to substantial expansions in production capacities by leading producing nations, which exerted slight downward pressure on pricing trends within Europe. Additionally, the value of Petroleum Coke declined in early March, and Pet Coke rates in European markets, particularly in Germany, showed a consistent downward trajectory.
The equilibrium between market supply and demand remained delicately balanced, with some purchasers opting to delay restocking in anticipation of potential price reductions. Prices followed a bearish trend due to the surplus supply and subdued demand. Despite this, the pricing landscape for Aluminium Alloy Ingots in Germany remained relatively stable throughout the quarter, devoid of notable seasonal fluctuations or correlations.
Compared to the same quarter last year, the latest recorded price for Aluminium Alloy Ingot (A380) FD-Willich in Germany during the first quarter of 2024 stood at USD 3157/MT, showcasing consistency in pricing patterns.

A General Report of the Nono people: Part 1 - Full festival edition
This is a general report on the archeological discoveries made in reference to the Nono People, specifically their festivals. The purpose of this report is to one, present the information regarding the Nono People and the discoveries made about them, and two, highlight the Cave Filling Corporation’s role in its archeological pursuits.
The Nono people* were a people thought to have existed in the lands that is now the modern-day city of Mobletropolis, which occupies the world world labeled the same as the city in the Cave Filling Corporation’s database. The Nono people were an ancient people who mysteriously disappeared long ago, their civilization vanishing without a trace as to why they disappeared. Some speculate that some unnatural catastrophe moved them to the orbiting moon and transformed them into monsters, but that is extremely unlikely.
The Nono people were so mysterious that only two main things were known about them. First, they pioneered mosaic art in the region, paving the way for the modern cultural obsession with mosaics. The second thing, which is the more known one, was their obsession with canines of all breeds. These dogs were used for all sorts of recreational and utilitarian purposes. There were small dogs, the size of chihuahuas, that were a common house pet, hunting dogs, shepherding dogs, medical dogs, and even large dogs, larger than the size of an average horse, and were used as horse replacements. There was even an urban myth that the Nono people were in fact dog-human hybrids, which has been proven to be false.
The thing was, the world of Mobletropolis did not have the technology to be able to investigate these people properly, until we came into the picture. With our technology, we agreed to help them discover their heritage. Immediately, we came to several conclusions from the already existing evidence. For one, they were clearly human, indicated by the human bones. Another thing was their technology. While they were reportedly an ancient people, they were very advanced when it came to technology. Specifically, they had at the very least early medieval technology, and may have even had technology comparable to the early industrial age. Ironically, despite their technology, they still remained in tribal leadership positions, and had many rituals and behaviors reminiscent of other tribalistic nations. Finally, the Nono people traded in unique blue gems, which are not diamonds, as their currency. The gems are mostly worthless in the modern era, but they are definitive proof to allow for the digging in certain areas, as there are probably millions of these gemstones out there. The gemstones themselves are collected and are sold to help pay off the archeological equipment and such to other worlds.
We then went ahead and proceeded to prove ourselves by filling in the blanks of the six remaining late-age Nono mosaics. They had been mostly constructed before we were involved, but we were able to fill in the blanks they could not. We are also heavily involved with restoring dozens of early-age mosaics. We have reason to believe there are hundreds of these out there, and these are the most difficult to do. Special resources have to be allocated to solve these, and it is very expensive as well. This is why we mostly focus on normal archeology.
For anybody that knows actual archeology, it is not the world of entering temple, fighting bad guys, avoiding traps, and getting treasures. Archeology is slow, but it can be rewarding. Some areas lead themselves to obvious answers, such as literal books on subject matters. Others are much more difficult, requiring the use of coins to hire experts on matters for assistance. Sometimes things projected to be hard are very easy though, so we usually don’t need too much cash. We have also been offered a way partake in the creation of Nono park, but we do not feel like this is the best use of our time, especially with the financial capital that is involved…
{* A quick Google search told me that there are no real-life people who called themselves the Nono people, but if I am wrong, I am so sorry. This group is entirely meant to be entirely fictional and is not meant to be a mockery of any real culture whatsoever. Nothing here was taken from any real culture, or even fictional cultures for that matter.}
