Note
the rookie has kind of backed itself into a corner with some of its characters, like shawgets seconn d billing after nathon in the credits but they're obviously running out of plot ideas for wesley, nolan and bailey are more like side characters than anything else because (as you said) they're so separate to the rest of what's going on, and when was the last time we saw james get a plot that didn't revolve around nyla? i really hope the new season brings back some of that friends and family dynamic previous seasons have had and we get to see everyone just hanging out together, and that the character plots are a bit more evenly distributed...
I mean i'm not too fussed about Wesley and James having a back seat seeing as they are in a sense supporting characters (despite Shawn getting second billing, but that's just because after Nathan all the non-EP actors are listed alphabetically). The police officers and police work are intended to be the central subject of the show, so non-police characters dipping in and out of the story doesn't bother me too much, as much as I might love them.
It's just the Nolan one is really bizarre because he feels more and more like a side character when he is meant to be the main character.
Even the Union rep storyline feels like a desperate attempt to make sure he can still be involved with the core of the story when big things go down. multiple times the last few seasons the other 5 have been dealing with some big shit, and the only time Nolan dips into their storylines when he's there as their union rep, and he's the face of the show?!
you're so right that they backed themselves into a corner. I totally get why they nerfed him becoming a detective, I liked the realistic consequences for his actions (though that sort of got undercut by the whole golden ticket) and I think his personality makes sense as a caring T.O, but if he was a detective it would have kept him in the center of the story. TBH it often feels like i'm watching two different shows now- the crime drama with the core 5, and then a heartwarming cop comedy with Nolan and Bailey.

OSRR: 3524
god today has been so long and so tiring.
it's nearly 1am and i got up around my standard 4am. i didn't get a lot of sleep last night, either.
i went through emergency SOPs for four-plus hours today as part of my quarter one goal at work. there are some with details i am not familiar with so i need to ask about them and record the information.
after work, i headed over to bova's. my favorite bakery in boston. mike's can suck it. modern can suck it. bova's is where it's at.
i got a ton of stuff and for the first time since i started going there, i didn't have a panic attack while i was in the store! fuckin wild. i got so much stuff. the decision was made on monday that i would get stuff from boba's instead of us making a plethora of desserts from scratch.
what a delight that tiny bakery is. truly.
on my way back, i went to kimberly and nathon's house for birthday party take 2. most of the squad was there and it was so wonderful to see them. we played card games and had chicken alfredo and cake and ice cream. cake is my kryptonite.
anyway, i am now finally back at home, in bed, refilling the life buckets so i dont die tomorrow too. im so so tired.
sleep soon. hoping to see joel again soon. i miss him.
my brain is turning off. it's nice to have it turn off.

Psilocybe Cubensis History/Taxonomy List by Taylor Yates of SporeSwaps
*This is an estimated/working list, not every known variety will be here and some information may be incorrect. New varieties are constantly being isolated, named, and/or crossed. Please note that this list may have multiple mistakes in it, all of the origin and historical information on this list is what we found in our research to be the most credible and believable. All of this information is supposed, if it’s not from the originator themselves. Most if not all originators/iso’ers were reached out prior to releasing this list for permission and clarification of their work and name. If there are any mistakes, we do apologize, please reach out to a SporeSwaps admin to resolve and fix any issues in this list. If you have any other information of differing stories or origins of any of these varieties, please reach out as well. I would also like to note, the term landrace iso refers to a variety that was originally found/collected in the location in which it is named. Mush love to all, and to all, love mush. - Taylor Yates*

New OC, this time for Mechquest!
His name is Nathon Hullbuster, but he prefers to be called by his callsign "Hummingbird"
And yes, I decided to make him a femboy.
As far as his personality, I'd describe them as "platonic tsundere" IE, walled-off and aggressive until they feel they can trust you. Deep down wants to make friends, but heavily struggles with trusting people.

My relationship with the gods is complicated. You see the gods will select souls who are particularly in tune with their domains and invest in them some of their own power in exchange for a oath to act as a mortal representative for the gods, voice, fist, and champion.
Some gods have many such as Eeen of the harvest, some gods have very few such as Aeut of the disturbed rest. Myself I am a Palladian of Waxt he who upholds the oaths, I have never met another and it is very possible I’m the only one. But I swore an oath to him that I would give comeuppance to those who broke their promises, mostly this means a stern talking to on behalf of scorned lovers or wringing an apology and return of goods from dishonest businessmen, though once I did bind a group of royals to logs and leave them in the lowest slums of their queendom and had to watch them starve as they begged for food from their people who had none they where willing to give.
But now and then a Palladian for another god will break their oath, not just turn away from it but actually use their power or peoples trust in them as representatives of the gods to do acts that run directly against what their oath represents. Thankfully I’ve only had to fulfill this duty only a few handfuls of times in my life which has been exceptionally long even for my kind, and the only one I lost any sleep over was the slaying and rising of Nathon formerly of Auet.
Regardless waking to Waxt speaking a name into my ear is always troubling, made more troubling this morning by what followed it
“Maxwell son of Genly formerly of Sret” he said to me.
“a secret keeper will be difficult to find.” I though to myself
“Hariate daughter of Hariate formerly of Dax”
“And a message carrier? That’s strange I’ve never gotten two in one day” I pulled myself out of my bed my back hurts a little so I stretch out as I walk towards my fireplace. My eyes linger on my bow and axe hanging above the mantle before I look back down at the fire, some coals are still red “that’s good”. I push the coals together with a poker before placing one of my last feather sticks onto them “I should make more before I set out” I mutter as I place a couple more logs next to the small flame that’s started. I open up the kettle to see if the snow from last night has…
“Bagdar son of Dar formerly of Eeen” Wext’s voice interrupts my thoughts but this time it doesn’t stop “Hetia child of Grat formerly of Naas, Aaron son of Balt formerly of Dall, Smith son of Smith Formerly of For, Cassie child of Matt formerly of Eeen, Aurelia daughter of Ellen formerly of Galt, Ulder daughter of Uldar formerly of Jez, Alex son of Fredrick formerly of Lems” and on and on it went as I stared at my kettle my mind racing, eventually he stopped and told me something I simply couldn’t believe. “Every paladin has betrayed their oath, give me retribution”
then it went silent as I sat in shocked horror, or it felt silent eventually my ears told me I’d been hearing my kettle scream. Something about the mundane sounds made me move again, I lifted it from its hook above the fire and placed on the table. I poured what remained in the kettle into my carved wooden cup and dropped in some tea leaves. As it steaped I retrieved my axe from its place above the mantle and my quiver of war arrows from where they hung at the foot of my bed. I dumped the arrows onto the table and while holding them in a bundle I brought the axe head down. I snatched up the pile of arrow heads and tossed them into the fire. I picked up my tea and returned to my bed as I blew the steam from it.
“Jamie child of Janice formerly of Waxt” came his voice in me ear.
I sipped my tea, or tried to it was still a bit too hot.
You’re an oath-keeper, your god will whisper you the names of those paladins who have broken their oaths, and you slay them. But you awoke at night to an incomprehensibly long list of names, after an hour it said “ fuck it, all the paladins have broken their oath, slay them all”
