My Potential Projects 2: “Teens” (Concept Art Included!)

In Gravity Falls, Oregon, there live six ordinary teenagers: Wendy, Lee, Nate, Thompson, Tambry and Robbie. During their summer break, this group of friends deals with, in a nutshell, firsts. First jobs, first crushes and a first taste of freedom... Of course, not every new experience is a positive one. Phone-addicted and gothic Tambry, for instance, despises the fact that she is obligated to have a perpetually smiley attitude and wear a very hot owl costume when working at Hoo-Ha Owl’s Pizzamatronic Jamboree. Wendy, on the other hand, bores out working as a cashier in the tourist trap “The Mystery Shack” and as a lifeguard in the community pool. Still, she doesn’t hesitate to rebel against the rules set by her bosses Mr. Pines and Mr. Poolcheck along with her working peers, which, by the way, include a nerdy tween boy named Dipper that has his eyes set on her. Robbie, the emo of the team, may tolerate his job at the burger stand of the Gravity Falls mall, but is completely obsesse with Wendy and really wants her to be his girlfriend. Now, although there’s a considerable ammount of negative experiences, coward Thompson loves his position as the Royal Ragtime Theater manager. That way, he can switch the tables with ushers Lee and Nate by using his authority to force them to clean the toilets and seats. His off-the-clock status as the group’s living “Kick Me” sign really tires him out in secret!

These friends may live a generic teenage live, but the supernatural always lurks in the shadows ready to surprise them when they least expect it. As Gravity Falls is a town where this stuff is common, the group helping Lee practice for his upcoming driving test can become a wild escapade from a ferocious monster! Similarly, things like haunted convenience stores and gravity mishaps aren’t left out! 

However, no matter what happens to them and in the town, the gang attempts to make the good times last on one of their very few summers left. It’s a constant balance between minimum wages and maximum scares!

SAMPLE EPISODE 1: Wendy wants to watch a movie. However, Thompson bans her from the local theater because she entered with food. Wendy thinks that, of course, he realizes this mean war! She’ll try various ways to enter the theater avoiding his iron-fist. The clock is ticking in this battle of wits and trickery!

SAMPLE EPISODE 2: The whole gang, along with Wendy’s working peers Dipper and Mabel, explore an abandoned convenience store. They have usual teenage fun in there, which may or may not end up with them in one ghost of an unexciting adventure.

SE3: Tambry, so as to catch a break from all the Hoo-Ha hubbub, babysits the town-famous L’il Gideon. She soon realizes it may not have been a good idea to do so, because things with that little boy will definitely not be down to earth!

SE4: Tambry holds a Summerween party at her house while her parents are out. Her five friends, along with the rest of the Gravity Falls High School students, join in, not knowing a simple bottle-spinning game can unleash an evil entity that will force them into eating cursed lollipop sticks.

SE5: Lee has trouble practicing for his upcoming driving test, so he calls upon the rest of the gang for help. They all hop aboard the Thompson family van and let Lee at the wheel in order to guide him on a drive through the forest. Soon, however, a horde of gnomes starts chasing them, and only Lee’s parallel parking skills can save the day!

SE6: The Gravity Falls Community Pool is looking for a new assistant lifeguard. Still, Wendy is fed up with having to stay in the community pool after her usual shift in order to try out people. Thus, when Dipper suggests he can be the lifeguard, Wendy admits him on the spot. The two have fun breaking the rules, but Mr. Poolcheck has other ideas regarding fun...

SE7: Robbie decides to record a song dedicated to Wendy so as to make her fall in love with him. To do so, he’ll have to get help from some unusual creatures.

SE8: Robbie convinces Thompson to join him in summoning an evil triangle that, at least according to the former, can grant three wishes. However, the shock they’re in for, to say the least, is to die for.

SE9: Tambry and Robbie start dating without any warning, which surprises the rest of the teens...for worse.

SE10: It’s another usual day at the town, until suddenly (and literally) gravity starts falling. The gang must do all they can in order to survive all the floating!

SE11: Inspired by Jack Kerouac’s classic “On the Road”, Wendy convinces the gang, along with her working peers, to do some hitch hike. She, secretly, wants to stay away from her father after a fight they got into. But then, a mysterious truck driver captures the group and takes them to a haunted diner in order to keep them prisoners.

SE12: Both Wendy’s stress towards life in general and Tambry’s “monthly pain” get the best of them. So much so that Wendy gains weather powers and Tambry turns into an overreacting ugly creature that runs loose! The boys must team up with Wendy’s working peers in order to stop the situation.

SE13 (pre-series finale): School is right around the corner, for registration at Gravity Falls High has just started. The whole gang is devasted at this, but their devastation turns into panic as strange creatures invade the town and things become much, much weirder than usual.

SE14 (SERIES FINALE): The Weirdmageddon has been stopped by Robbie, Wendy and the Mystery Shack gang. However, before Dipper and Mabel leave Gravity Falls, Wendy decides to prepare a surprise that will require her and the teenage gang to move all through the town in one last summer adventure together.

Walkerverse Character Tier List

Hello Walker Family! I'm here announcing the beginning of the Walkerverse Character Tier List series!

I've created a list of characters from Walker and Walker: Independence to put in a tier list ranking. I will be releasing a series of polls with all these characters (including pictures and brief reminders of their roles) to determine which Tier List ranking they get. Whichever option from S to F gets the most votes will become the official ranking of that character.

Here is the criteria I used to select the characters I'm putting in the poll series:

They must have a name on the imdb page

They must have a minimum of two appearances

I have to remember them, regardless of their appearance count

Single appearances that were special/memorable will also be included (ex: Uncle Willy, Minnie Jayne)

The rankings will be as follows:

S tier: Best character in the show, love them with all my heart, they can do literally nothing wrong

A tier: Beloved blorbo, one of my favorites, I'd want to be friends with them if they were real

B tier: I like them, but I have my critiques. A good character that I mostly enjoy

C tier: Mid character, not the biggest fan of them but I won't complain when they show up

D tier: I don't like them. I have many criticisms of their actions and personality. I may even dislike whole episodes because of them

F tier: Literally the worst character in the entire show. Hate them. Much dislike. I fastforward over them on rewatches.

I currently have pictures (for the poll and the complete tierlist that I will link when it is public) for 39 of the 120+ characters I put on the list, so that's where I will be starting. I will include the full list of all the characters from both shows below the cut along with the taglist.

Marvel Studios has shared the first teaser trailer for Captain America: Brave New World, unveiling a new look at Sam Wilson’s next mission. Anthony Mackie returns as the high-flying hero, who’s officially taken up the mantle of Captain America.

The trailer kicks off with a tense White House meeting, as Sam comes to face with newly-elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross. Harrison Ford makes his Marvel Cinematic Universe debut as Ross, a role originated by the late William Hurt.

Ross and Sam have a bit of a history: In his previous role as Secretary of State, Ross was responsible for arresting Sam and his fellow Avengers during the events of Captain America: Civil War. Now as president, Ross is eager to work with Sam, hoping to make Captain America an official military position.

But that tentative alliance is jeopardized when Sam finds himself in the middle of an international incident, with friend and retired super-soldier Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly) as the prime suspect. Sam’s investigation send him on a dangerous chase, and the trailer ends with a deadly showdown and a tease of the menacing Red Hulk.

The trailer also features a few familiar faces: Danny Ramirez returns as former Air Force lieutenant Joaquin Torres, who’s picked up Sam’s old wings and taken on the role of Falcon. Tim Blake Nelson is also back as Samuel Sterns, AKA The Leader, appearing in the MCU for the first time since 2008’s The Incredible Hulk.

New to the cast is Shira Haas, who joins as Ruth Bat-Seraph. A former Black Widow, Ruth is now a high-ranking U.S. government official who has the trust of President Ross. Giancarlo Esposito, Liv Tyler, and Xosha Roquemore also star.

The film is directed by Julius Onah and produced by Kevin Feige and Nate Moore. Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth serve as executive producers.

"O'Brien's butt!" Beard called through the door. "Finally happened. His ass exploded."

"Fuuuuck," Roy buried his face in his hand.

It wasn't that they all hadn't expected the day was coming--O'Brien and his hair-triggered arse had been a stop-and-go problem for the past two years. A pinched nerve in the wrong place. One day their goalie was a beast, and the next they were tending to him like an elderly couple gone soft over their aging poodle.

With how much Zoreaux -- Zorro? Fuck, he'd meant to check the group chat -- had stepped up since his first untimely injury, it hadn't been a problem. But now--

"We're out a reserve goalie," Roy said, spelling it out.

Higgins popped up on his toes. "Ah-hah! We were out a reserve goalie. But since our win on Saturday--let's just say we have some exciting new options.

"You'll recognize most of these from the scouting reports," Higgins said as he passed around the files like they were candy. He even had a copy for Trent.

Flipping through the pages, Beard asked, "What's our largest wingspan?"

Nate, magically off his fake phone call, shuffled back into the office. "Oh, I heard a rumor that Ramirez was looking to transfer away from Crystal Palace. Did we get him?"

Roy reluctantly grabbed the offered file the third time Higgins offered it to him.

"Er, no. He was quite a bit expensive I'm afraid. Looking for a bigger pay raise than we're offering. We do have two candidates though who look quite promising--"

"Henry Rimmer," Roy read out from the top of the stack.

Nate winced.

Beard threw the report to the side. "Pass."

"Oh," Higgins said, a dismayed little utterance. "Are we sure?"

Roy looked him dead in the eye. "Didn't he get benched during penalties for throwing a ball at the ref?"

Higgins bobbed his head from side to side. "Kind of thought that would appeal, if I'm being honest." He wrung his hands together, asking "Are we sure? There's only so many goalies in our price range, and with his skill level-"

"His price is low--," Beard enunciated with a stern look from under his hat, "--because no one wants him."

Graveclothes is the working title of a piece I'm doing inspired by conversations had over the idea of an Into the Spiderverse AU for Fallen Hero.

It specifically involves everyone's favorite fool of mine, Remus Ramirez, and @the-cooler-sidestep's dead girl walking, Jonah Davis. It's still early in outlining, so sadly no snippet for it. But it involves spilled drinks and borrowing clothes and a lot of reconnecting to a part of yourself lost forever.

Motorcycle is the quick reference title for a Wayhaven piece I'm working on for @evilbunnyking involving the Perpetual Bachelors. It details a shared motorcycle trip and quick picnic Raine and Adam take, semi-orchestrated by Nate, to unwind after the stresses that nip endlessly at their heels. Small snippet because it's getting reworked:

"I have a helmet," Adam admits. He can feel Raine's eyes on him as he walks across the makeshift garage towards the lockers.

"You have a helmet?" It's not quite disbelief in his voice, but there's an unasked question hiding in there.

Adam pulls his helmet from the top shelf of the locker and schools his features into a blank expression to keep from grimacing. "I used to have a motorcycle."

Raine's eyebrows almost hit his hairline. He lips pull into a crooked grin. "I'm sorry," he says. "You used to ride a motorcycle?"

as the youngest sibling, carmen was absolutely doted on by her mother and her siblings growing up and she loved it. she adored the attention and loved being around her family, being treated as their little princess. this trend continued even as she got older, even with how much her mother was working and how often her older brother wouldn't be home as both separately tried to do their best to take care of the family.

while carmen was in school, she met her first boyfriend, nate. he was everything to her, and the two were the "ideal" couple with nate being a star quarterback and carmen the captain of the cheer team. after high school she even moved in with him, and he helped her start her baking business, something she'd always been passionate about.

behind the scenes, though, things weren't perfect like they seemed -- nate had always been a little insecure, but after high school it escalated quickly into him becoming controlling, demanding to know where she'd been when she got in a little too late after being out with her friends, or demanding to look through her phone when he was convinced she was cheating. eventually that escalated to physical violence, though carmen did her best to hide it from the people around her.

one day, her mother expressed her concern that santiago hadn't called them recently after having gone to huntsville to seek out his ex, cole. carmen jumped on the opportunity to go looking for him, eager for at least a temporary escape from her situation -- though of course she never could have expected that the "temporary" escape would be a very permanent one.

Dreams are something of a mystery. No one, not a single scientist, knows why we dream. Are we simply filtering through memories as we sleep? Are our subconscious trying to tell us something? Or are we tapping into a realm beyond our reality?

“What the actual fuck?”

Was Robbie’s reaction to finding himself standing in the middle of a gothic stage. It was raining wherever he was, the clouds were overcast. Behind him were an array of mirrors of varying shape and sizes. In front of him is a vast field of long grass and tombstones…

You read that right. Tombstones…

Robbie already knew that he had a gloomy disposition – he’s literally gray right now! – but this…is a bit overkill. And just to make things even more on the nose with all this gothic stuff, there were statues of people he knew scattered around: His parents (still cheery), Wendy, Tambry, his friends, and, hey, even the Pines with Mabel just as cheery as his parents. On stage with him were his bandmates.

The teen was still in the process of wrapping his head around everything he was seeing.

“Did someone curse me? If it was Nate or Lee, I’m gonna throttle them a–”

A strong wind started to pick up, making the rain feel a little more like needles as they hit his face. There was a howl and at first, Robbie thought it was the wind.

Until more howls overlapped each other.

Despite having to have experienced the craziness of Weirdmageddon and just Gravity Falls as a whole…this made Robbie’s heart stop with fear. He looked outward, now noticing trees in the distances. From the darkness of the forest came out wisping shadows, like specters. 

The number of the phantoms were immense. First, two or four appeared from the trees…then seven…then fifteen…then–

Robbie couldn’t keep up. The specters were moving around so erratically, aimlessly, he lost track. The phantoms zipped around the tombstones and statue, causing a chill to run up Robbie’s spine. Now, he was wondering where to run to and hide.

As if sensing this…the specters turned their attention to him and went after him. Robbie did attempt to run, but was intercepted by a specter and he was quickly surrounded, stuck in the middle of winding wraiths.

Seeing that he was trapped, Robbie crouched to the ground, curling up into a ball and hoping that this would just stop…

He felt this stinging… an unfamiliar burning sensation emanating from his right wrist…

Robbie groaned pitifully in the morning, laying in his bed, shirtless and his arms over his eyes.

“Robbie? Are you talking to the ghost in your closet again?”

“No, mom! And there was no ghost!”

Honestly, after a dream like that, he doesn’t even want to think about ghosts.

He looks at his right wrist with confusion, remembering the strange feeling.

The pale skin was undamaged.

Robbie shakes his head and gets out of bed for school.

“Nope. Don’t wanna think about it. Nooo, extra baggage.”

She was making her way to the bar before her attention was stolen by a very familiar sight. “Sophia!” She exclaimed, relieved to see her friend around. “You look absolutely gorgeous. Damn, did Khal leave you alone? I’m going to snatch you up and he’ll have no say in the matter.”
