Yesterday was an amazing day!! My kid and I met Natasha Liu Bordizzo and her bf Kurt. Seriously the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met, she asked me if I’d met Ivanna yet and I was like I haven’t yet, and I asked her that since she’s seen the WolfWren fanart, if she’s read the fanfics yet and she said she hasn’t yet and I mentioned I have four WolfWren fics and she and Kurt were impressed and were like that’s amazing! She asked where my fics are posted and so I told her but forgot to give username 🤦🏻🤷🏻‍♀️But Ao3 WolfWren writers… Natasha is now aware, so I wouldn’t be surprised if she checks us all out soon!!

I'm in a cosplay slump right now so I thought I'd trigger some creativity which I did! My personal favourites are Monica, Roman & Wanda so I'll keep these in mind for future content. <33

Also as Comic Con is in November I wanted to do some spooky cosplay, I'm keeping GF in mind but my sister suggested Casey Becker which peaked my interest.

More costumes!

So after finishing the Loki costume, I needed a break. I took November off to write a novel, without the NaNoWriMo website. It was harder than I thought it would be, but that might have been the *gestures vaguely at The World At Large* happening, too. Who can say?

But, I still had at least one more costume to sew, and that was the Mera jumpsuit from Aquaman. I'm much more of a Marvel fan than a DC can, but when I dyed my hair red the first time, I thought of a bunch of characters with red hair I could cosplay as. I bought the fabric, but hadn't had time to sew the costume until now. I also made a trident, or I guess a quin-dent. This was just something I threw together with EVA foam scraps and a gardening tool I found when I moved in. It's not supposed to be anything from any of the of DCEU films, just a prop to make the photos more interesting.

This was a trial to sew, as I don't work with stretchy fabric usually, and given how it is constructed, I couldn't really try it on until it was nearly completely constructed. If I do use this pattern again, I'm gonna need a dress form.

Originally, I had planned to just wear this inside out to be Black Widow and Maria Hill, but there would still be some scale-print visible, which doesn't go with either character. So, I got some athletic wear from Old Navy: a pair of leggings and a warm-up jacket. I know Maria Hill is technically wearing navy blue in her SHIELD uniform, but this is close enough.

I also got a different black wig when Spirit Halloween was still open. I think it works better than the Wonder Woman wig, as it has actual bangs. They're a bit heavy for Maria Hill, but I think the looks is close enough.
