It’s just ridiculous how she’s all like “I prayed, I prayed” girl, I prayed for my mom to beat cancer and you know what praying got me? Nothing. She passed away.
Praying didn’t get Jenna to where she is, her skill, ability to act and her pr team got her to where she is.
That whole video montage screams narcissistic and begging for sympathy (especially the part about her and the father’s marriage being in a questionable state)
This one here is extra disingenuous:
Tumblr media
Lady, you sent your barely legal 18-year-old daughter off to New Zealand to make a horror movie that included a scene where she stripped down to her ☀️ Sunday🎀 panties and sucked Kid Cudi's BBC. What was so much more terrifying about being in Romania with Tim Burton?
As for this:
Tumblr media
Well duh, you had too many kids, and in families like this, you parentify the older kids to take care of the younger ones. Always, because the culture perpetuates it. Aliyah was complaining about coming home from foot surgery and being expected to make dinner that night (and having to baby sit brats who were messing with her foot and crutches). There is only the superficial appearance of order and familial "love" when it's just all passing off the work to others because you don't have the time. (And this happens in all religious families that have a ton of kids, not just Latines.)
One part of Ortega's book that caught my eye was this passage:
Tumblr media
When you said 'narcissistic', I hadn't really thought about Nat in that way until I remembered this passage. Here, Jenna — already a Disney teen star with various commitments — is feeling overwhelmed and doesn't want to talk/needs to decompress. Her mother attempted to prod her into feeling something she wasn't feeling, then turns around to say that Jenna is the problem? And she managed to convince her that she was the problem. The invalidation of someone's mood and feelings to tell them that they're the problem is textbook gaslighting.
...Huh. Now that I think about it, it's actually no wonder that Ortega tends to (subconsciously, I think) take roles where she is an angsty teen battling Mommy Issues. Almost all of her live action roles to date have been her as an angsty teen with Mommy Issues/Mommy Problems.
I'm sorry about your mother. People like the religious Ortegas would say that it's "God's will" or that "He has a plan for everything" or some trite bullshit. I would just say that it's life, it happens, and when the worst things happen, it sucks. Then again, I cast this monotheistic God my worst curse when I was dying and then all of a sudden, started to get better. That was almost 40 years ago, and I've never looked back.

Natalie Ortega: Family, Parenting Style and Other Details
Jenna Ortega has quickly become one of Hollywood’s most promising young stars, captivating audiences with her talent and charm. But behind every successful artist is a supportive family, and Jenna is no exception. Her mother, Natalie Ortega, has been a constant presence in her life, providing the love and guidance that have helped her achieve success. In this article, we’ll take a closer look at Natalie Ortega and her role in Jenna’s life and career.
Family Life and Parenting Style
Natalie married her husband, Edward Ortega, in 1998, and the couple went on to have five children together: Isaac, Markus, Mia, Aliyah, and Jenna. Natalie Ortega‘s parenting style has been described as warm and nurturing, with a strong emphasis on family values and education. She has been a constant presence in her children’s lives, supporting them in their passions and guiding them through the challenges of growing up in the public eye.
Jenna’s Early Career
Jenna’s talent was evident from an early age, and Natalie was quick to encourage her daughter’s love of the arts. Jenna began modeling and acting in commercials at the age of six, and soon landed her first television role on the show “Rob.” She went on to appear in several other TV shows and films, including “Jane the Virgin” and “The Babysitter,” and her star continued to rise with each new project.
Natalie’s Support for Jenna’s Career
As Jenna‘s career began to take off, Natalie became an integral part of her daughter’s team, helping her navigate the complex world of Hollywood. She has been instrumental in helping Jenna land roles, connecting her with agents and casting directors, and providing guidance on everything from audition techniques to social media strategy. Natalie has also been a fierce advocate for her daughter’s education, ensuring that Jenna stays on top of her schoolwork and maintains a healthy balance between work and play.
Natalie’s Role in Jenna’s Success
Jenna’s success is a testament to her own hard work and talent, but it’s also a reflection of the love and support she has received from her family. Natalie has been a driving force behind Jenna’s rise to fame, providing the stability and guidance that have helped her daughter navigate the often-turbulent waters of Hollywood. Natalie’s warm and nurturing approach to parenting has been a key factor in Jenna’s success, helping her to stay grounded and focused on her goals.
Instagram Shenanigans
Natalie Ortega recently took to Instagram to show her pride in her daughters. In a post that featured a photo collage of her daughters Jenna and Mia Ortega, Natalie celebrated the different paths that her girls have taken in life. She praised them both for their individual accomplishments and expressed her love and pride for both of them.
Celebrating the Differences
On February 26, 2023, Natalie posted a photo collage that showcased the differences between her daughters. Mia was shown wearing scrubs, a face mask, and a scrub mask, indicating her work in the healthcare industry. Jenna, on the other hand, was shown at the SAG-AFTRA awards, dressed in a glamorous outfit.
In her caption, Natalie expressed her admiration for both daughters, acknowledging the unique paths they have taken. She wrote, “Two of my girls wearing very different outfits and doing very different things in life. Both came from me, and both were raised by me. I’m equally proud of both of them and love them very much.”…Read More

You’re pretty. You’re so pretty. It’s actually unbelievable how gorgeous you are. You’re pretty and funny and you’re everything I want. You’re the one I want to tell the good and bad news to, and the one I want to wake up with a text from. You’re the one I close my eyes thinking about and the one I look for in every room. You’re perfect, you’re perfect for me.
And maybe in another universe you’d think that too.

New Releases: January 2025
So Not My Type by Dana Hawkins (January 5th) Sophie Black has clawed her way up from coffee runs to project manager at a top Seattle ad agency. She’s laser-focused on her career—until the CEO’s daughter, Ella Northwood, joins the team. Forced to work together on a high-stakes campaign, sparks fly as Sophie’s scrappy determination clashes with Ella’s polished privilege. But there’s more to both…

This query is based on your post regarding the age of the eldest Ortega. You mentioned Isaac having a different dad, albeit maybe jokingly. But he does look different from all the other siblings. More melanin, straight pointed nose, narrow face…wonder if he does have different parentage. They’d never say though. Especially not Natalie
Tumblr media
See, they had Mariah as teens and then waited about six years until they started breeding nonstop in April 1997.
Or did they....
Genetics are weird and sometimes you can get that random kid in your fam whose genes express like someone else's from your line but branched. Maybe he looks like Ed's uncle or cousin or something like that. It happens and yeah, I was joking but...I mean, after six years Ed was likely already on the force by the time Isaac was born.
Tumblr media
100% they probably joke about it too ("You're adopted! LOL!" ... >_> ) but you're right, they'll never say, just as they never say how old Natalie was when she dropped Mariah. They won't talk about the problem of teen pregnancies in the Latino community because "God works in mysterious ways"/"it was God's will" and it's never about personal responsibility or human-driven desires and behavior. Latinas have the highest rate of teen pregnancies (it's ~double that of the national average, even though teen pregnancy is generally down right now). It is a cultural problem, a machismo and religious problem that has carried on throughout the centuries.
I've been meaning to talk about this subject (the subject of Latina teen pregnancy) for a while, even before I contemplated the Ortegas/Mariah. Somewhere in my drafts I have a long post about that TikTok Latina who has 3 children and she's only 17.
My father, who is Mexican mixed with a shitload of other easily traceable things (like Spanish, Greek, Italian, German, and Irish...he is a goddamn melting pot) recently yapped at me about my aunt/his sister and how they "begged her not to marry a Mexican when she was young because they'll treat you like a slave and expect you to be a baby machine" (😭😭😭😭😭 he's 82 and has no fucks to give). I'm guessing he said this because it's what my Mexican grandfather did to my grandmother, but my grandmother wasn't having any of it and only gave him two kids (father and aunt) and refused to behave like a lady (she went over to her sister's house with a bat when she heard that her sister's husband was hitting her and threatened him...mind you my grandmother was this 5 foot tall spitfire back in the 1930s).
Anyway I digress as I yap about familia here...the Ortegas have done really well for themselves after having been in that situation (as it seems, and as we can observe throughout their years since they're pretty public); with the right support, teen pregnancy isn't inherently bad. From my time listening to Aliyah yap on her Lives, she's defended teen moms and teen motherhood at least twice. I found that weird since the topic each time never even got that deep, and it was almost like it was in passing. Passionate, but in passing. What're we gonna do in any case, it's been 33 years and that misdemeanor has long passed.
One thing's for certain about them... they're a short ass family. Aliyah was measured at 5' 3" most recently. You must account for the sand and the heels here but this pic is telling about height when you use either Aliyah or Gizmo for the metric
Tumblr media
They're miniatures LOL
and once again, Aliyah > Jenna
